I’m not really good at expressing myself, or like saying great words, but I would like to slowly help myself express my thoughts through the books I’ve read.

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng is AMAZING. It was a tragic story, but as the story progressed, it made me feel like I had a part of me in every character. I hadn’t really read a book (or I just couldn’t remember) about a family and be able to get to know their side of the story.

It’s like this book helped me resolve some of my family issues without even talking to my family. I had realized that some parents can think they have a good relationship with you, but in reality, they don’t. Communication is important, but so is having an open mind. I feel like this is an eye-opener to all the families out there, knowing the struggles of each member is important, also trying to help if they need one.

I’m so glad I got to read this book. I tried finishing this until 5am on a Saturday because it was that good. I don’t know if it was my vulnerability and lack of sleep, but it made me cry so much.

"dreaming of his future, he no longer heard all the things she did not say" 4.5⭐ This is a story about the consequences of the amount of pressure kids feel when they're parents try to live their dreams through them. This is a 4.5 for me because it wasn't necessarily an enjoyable read, but it also was never meant to be that! It is a sad story, and right now it's not the ideal time for me to be reading something sad but I had a feeling that this was going to be a 5/5. The realness and rawness of this story and these characters is incredible. It feels like Celeste Ng knew these characters, their entire past, personality, values... And told us all the relevant bits, eventough there's so much more. None of the characters are written to be likeable, they are written to feel real!
