Hi everyone! Happy Haikyuu Day!
As part of a lil summer fic exchange with the wonderful @rmakrkn, I am so pleased to share the first chapter of my gift to her. "The Truth About Wolves" (Rated E) is an omegaverse KuroKen and features sexy A!Wolf!Kuroo, O!Cat!Kenma, and lots of Little Red Riding Hood vibes 🐈🐺
Preview below the cut!
The petrichor became smoky in its scent then; the flower came into view, and Kenma let out a little yelp of excitement, the other scent momentarily disappearing from his mind as he rushed forward…
And right into a wall.
A wall…
Wait, no, not a wall?
Kenma stepped back and looked up; a pair of gleaming hazel eyes shone down at him.
Hazel eyes that belonged to what Kenma would call a devastatingly handsome face: high cheekbones, well-shaped nose, and a smile that spread slowly over that face, one that, when the smile grew wider, Kenma could see a pair of small, sharp fangs.
It was a man. A tall, gorgeous, and, from what Kenma could see, very well-muscled under his forest-green kimono and tattsuke-bakama-style pants, which were tucked into his kyahan. He wore wooden zori on his feet, and Kenma could see a sword sitting at his hip.
But it wasn’t the fact it was a man blocking his path to the flower that unnerved Kenma; no.
It was the fact that the man had fangs.
And that, as he looked down at Kenma, a pair of large, fluffy, black ears peeked down at him.
And that a long, fluffy, black tail waved over the man’s shoulder at Kenma.
He was a…a…a…
“It’s not safe to stray from the path, Kitten.”

i was just going thru some notes i have for brainstorming purposes and came across something i forgot ab
picture it w me, if you will:
no upside down modern au, alpha!eddie/omega!steve (bc apparently that's where my brain always goes)
steve is drunk at a party and either billy or tommy (also drunk) takes advantage of him. he ends up pregnant, kicked out, b/t wants nothing to do w any of it. steve's mom (bc we appreciate one good parent in this house) sends him money every month in exchange for pictures and updates of child w/o his dad's knowledge.
eddie meet him at some kind of organization event for underprivileged kids that he volunteers at bc he was that kid and knows how important they are. at first, he thinks steve is another volunteer & is absolutely enamored by him. but once he sees steve's kid run up to him, he decides to back off bc he assumes this means steve is in a relationship. he keeps seeing steve around and silently pines the whole time bc he's accepted that he'll never have him.
until eddie is at the library, hosting d&d. the party joins a few campaigns, and he gets to know them a little. he likes them, they're good kids (teenagers, technically). one day steve brings his toddler to the library bc they like to look thru the picture books on steve's days off. he also knows that the party goes to d&d that day and wants to say hi. when he leaves, eddie asks the party if they know him, and they explain that steve used to babysit them and drove them around a lot when they were in middle school. he uses this as an in w steve, resolved to just talk to him once and maybe be his friend.
he asks ab the kid's other parent simply for small talk purposes, wondering what they're like and why eddie's never seen them around. steve explains that he's a single parent; the kid's father was an asshole that didn't want to face the consequences of his actions.
cue eddie desperately doing everything possible to impress this child so he can prove to steve just how serious he is ab being w them. i like the think of it in the same vein as your moms new boyfriend trying to make you like him, even tho you already do and there's no need for him to try That Hard. but much more ridiculous and dramatic in true eddie munson fashion.

TG: and im fairly fuckin' confident in sayin' it has something to do with the creepy fuckin' puppet hangin' off your back
TG: so
TG: should probably get rid of that thing huh
TG: hand it over
@badlydrawn-alphadave
[ God, can this asshole not leave you alone for 5 minutes? Who the fuck does he think he is? Trying to take your best friend. Nobody understands. ]
[ You politely tell him to piss off by pressing your sword to his throat. Even unable to say anything the threat is clear: If he so much as lays a finger on Cal's precious head you'll chop his off. ]
[ You're not handing him over without a fight. ]

is this a safe space can we talk about a/b/o aus also can i mention okkofushi and can i say alpha yuuta who was so nervous about the responsibility of being part of and taking care of a pack but he fits so naturally in the role, it’s so easy for all his friends to fall in line and follow him and trust him, so he doesn’t understand why you and megumi are both so difficult. it’s not like he thinks omegas are weak by default, yuuta knows you’re stronger than he’ll ever be; it’s not like he thinks betas need to assume more submissive roles, he knows megumi can take care of himself. separately, you two are fine, but together you’re the brattiest pair and yuuta doesn’t get why nor does he get why it bothers him. he was never the alpha that needed the validation, never the one that needed people to fear to him just from his presence alone, but you and megumi make him desperate, and even worse, yuuta knows he wouldn’t be satisfied with just one of your. he’s trying not to push you both, he’s trying to be a good alpha, a calm alpha, a decent alpha but every time megumi rolls his eyes and does as he pleases, or you giggle at him and ask some other alpha for help, or the two of you tease just to run off together, yuuta is overrun with thoughts of how to tame you two, how to make you listen, how to get you both to just submit for once in your lives.

WEI WUXIAN, who is afraid of childbirth and pregnancy, and wants to have adopted puppies sooner than ever give birth to them, because he knows a lot of stories about painful childbirth and death during them, and the very thought of pregnancy makes him feel terrible —
♡
alpha!reader who makes a lot of nests and brings clothes so that your omega can hide in them, but at the same time you completely lack any desire to have biological puppies, even if your parental instinct is very active and even aggressive in manifestation — but you completely spend it on your husband, who remains an eternal puppy.

(mgv) OAUUGHHH lawrence and adam rooming together out of the hospital because it's made VERY CLEAR that they need each other close and safe after the trap. like @lucradiss said, they had to be moved into the same room because even after the smell of blood and shit and fear were cleaned off of them, their distress scent -- raw and unfiltered "NEED, COME BACK, DON'T LEAVE, WHERE ARE YOU, NEED YOU" -- was palpable enough to send their respective floors into a state of unease. and adam's being evicted, and tensions are high between lawrence and alison right now, so....
their new place doesn't scream "doctor's salary" but it's not a shithole either. one floor, too. at first they're in separate rooms but..... lawrence hasn't slept alone in years, and not having adam as close as possible still gives him some unease (if he can't see him how can he be sure he ever came back for him, got him out of there, let him live). he doesn't even get a chance to wheel by adam's room before the man himself is slipping into his. "keep seein' shit in the shadows. think i gotta take the door off my closet."
lawrence grants him half his bed easily. he also learns fairly quickly that adam is a funny sleeper. he burrows and squirms relentlessly in his sleep until he's nearly sideways with his head on lawrence's ribs. one time he woke up to adam sprawled bonelessly across his middle, slightly crushing him but mostly just endearing himself to lawrence.
the point of no return for Feeling Something More for adam was when diana stayed for the weekend. they hit it off well in the hospital already, so he wasn't worried about that. no, it was simply how much adam worried about making her feel safe there, because it might be her dad's place, but her dad has a roommate now and they didn't meet under fantastic circumstances. he doesn't want her to see him like zep, like some stranger in a home that isn't his.
(it is his home, though.)
he's trying so hard for this eight year old who's been through some shit, he wants her to like him, to be okay with him being there, and it chokes lawrence up if he thinks about it too hard. it feels a lot like a binding point between his old life and his new one. he loves them. he loves him.
diana learns what a 'pup pile' is that night. she has no siblings to pile up with, so she never got to learn, which just Isn't Right in adam's eyes. so that night adam stuffs them into their bed with the pillows and blankets from his old room they'll convert to be diana's, says, "three's not much a pile, but we'll work with what we got, right?" and hustles them into something comfortable, twined and piled on each other.
and if lawrence cries a few happy tears that night, well, he's allowed some by now, isn't he?
