Have you ever thought about henry being a writer who spends his whole life trying to write about his love for alex in endless poems and free verses, but it seems to him that no words will ever be enough to describe it. Though there are countless ways to say “i love you” without saying it, he thinks that if he loved alex less he would be able to talk about it more. And its volume truly cannot fit in any palace rooms, every place rendered useless because there’s just so much to contain and it horrifies him to realize that in each attempt to describe this love, words are futile devices

I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen right now and OMG THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD. Like it feels like a perfect mix between romance and a gossip session.

I need people to stop being shitty about Emma by Jane Austen. She's a flawed but well meaning soul.
She knows the risk not marrying well will cause. So she wants all of her friends of feminine persuasion to make a good match.
Is she overly prone to meddling? Sure, like my mum is overly prone to shoving hot beverages in your hand when it's just below 50. Not actually necessary, kind of inconvenient, but comes from a place of love and care for your wellbeing.
Emma isn't a heartless ditsy bitch like people act like she is.
She's kind, empathetic, compassionate, obstinate, feminine lady who loves being a woman. I love her your Honor.

All of these Pride and Prejudice references make my heart so happy. I love it!!
And I've been watching the 2005 movie over and over again because if I watch the 1995 version, I'll never make contact with the outside world again. I was gifted a large book that is the full collection of Jane Austen, and I know if I read one of the stories, I'll have to sit and read the rest, too.
Gosh, and then whenever I read Jane Austen, I crave reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and then the rest of her and her sisters' works.
It's just an endless cycle that I can't fight.

Finally got around to watching the 2020 version of Emma and omg why did I wait so long?! I have a hard time picking my favorite Jane Austen book but Emma is up there and this movie is exactly how it’s supposed to be portrayed. Anya Taylor-Joy was cast perfectly and whole movie was perfectly done. The humor, the ridiculous hijinks, Bill Nighy as Mr. Woodhouse, the mutual pining, the jealousy, the obligatory hand scenes, the Box Hill scene being perfection👌, Tanya Reynolds as Mrs. Elton, Johnny Flynn’s naked ass. 10/10. Now I want to reread Emma.
