I have more than 15 years experience as a care worker and elderly people never cease to shock me in the things they think about, talk about and actually do. I have walked into the bedrooms of elderly residents in care homes and caught them masturbating, men and women and dementia or no dementia.

Don't be so fucking prude and don't be ridiculous. I get why you all expect that Robert De Niro has done way better movies (I thought Dirty Grandpa was hilarious but I'm very broad minded and always have been and I also have a positively filthy sense of humour), and your far used to him playing more complex characters that do things that are beyond the comprehension of normal people. Don't forget he is human, he wants to keep working (that seems to be his raison d'être despite his age and fair play to him) the man is entitled to have some fun no matter how bawdy it is. He's not exactly at an age now where he could play Travis Bickle 0r Jimmy Conway etc, etc. I get so angry because even though I found it funny despite it not being one of his best films, we forget that human beings, in general behave that way.

I've worked in nursing homes and once walked in on an elderly woman with her hand up her vagina, and she didn't stop when I walked in either. I was only going to find out if she was joining the other residents for dinner and there she getting herself off. I've known male care home residents (again not always with dementia) to go into the bedrooms of female residents when all the care staff are busy, and they got into bed with the female residents and only they know what they were doing before the men got caught walking out of the women's bedrooms.

Seriously folks he's not going to be getting the same hard hitting roles he was getting 20,30, or 40 years ago. Get over it. He's getting old, Hollywood is getting lame and the whole world is fucked!!

He can do whatever the fuck he wants to do no matter what anyone thinks of that. Let the old bugger have some fun.
