It is believed that this name originates from the fact that it was a signal for hunters to prepare for the upcoming cold winter by going hunting. This is because animals were beginning to fatten up in preparation for the winter season. Moreover, since fields had recently been cleared out under the Harvest Moon, hunters could easily spot deer and other animals that had come out to search for remaining scraps. Additionally, foxes and wolves would also come out to prey on these animals.
The earliest use of the term “Hunter’s Moon,” cited in the Oxford English Dictionary, is from 1710. Some sources suggest that other names for the Hunter’s Moon are the Sanguine or Blood Moon, either associated with the blood from hunting or the color of the changing autumn leaves.

Related festivals:
• Day of the Dead- (Spanish: Día de Muertos or Día de los Muertos) is a holiday traditionally celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the locality. It is widely observed in Mexico, where it largely developed & is also observed in other places, especially by people of Mexican heritage. Although related to the simultaneous Christian remembrances for Hallowtide, it has a much less solemn tone and is portrayed as a holiday of joyful celebration rather than mourning. The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pay respects and to remember friends and family members who have died. These celebrations can take a humorous tone, as celebrants remember funny events and anecdotes about the departed.
• All Saints Day- is a Christian solemnity celebrated in honor of all the saints & martyrs of the Church, whether they are known or unknown
Activities:
• Dedicate an altar to loved ones who have passed
• Boil a simmer pot to cleanse your space
• Have a silent dinner

• Pull tarot cards to see what may be in store for you ahead
• Cleanse, clean & de-clutter your space
• Leave offerings to the Fae
• Journal & reflect on your accomplishments, challenges & everything you did this year
•Go on a nature walk
• Learn a new form of divination
• Have a bonfire with your friends and/or family
• Carve pumpkins
• Express yourself creatively through art, music, ect
• Visit a cemetery & help clean off areas that need it or to visit a family member/ ancestor & leave an offering
• Hold a seance
• Bake spooky treats & bread as offerings
• Refresh your protection magicks, sigils & rituals
Samhain is a Gaelic festival on 1 November marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker half" of the year. Celebrations begin on the evening of 31 October, since the Celtic day began and ended at sunset.
This fire festival is celebrated on October 31st & is considered the Pagan New Year. It is the first Sabbat on the Wheel of the Year, a cross-quarter festival & the third (final) harvest festival of the mundane year. This is the time when the veil between the worlds of the living & those who have passed is the thinnest, which allows greater communication between the two
Some believe this is the time of the Goddess's mourning of the death of the God until his rebirth at Yule. The Goddess's sadness can be seen in the shortening, darkening days & the arrival of cold weather

Elder ᚠᚱᛖᛁᛃᚨ Younger ᚠᚱᛁᛁᛁᛅ
Freyja/Frøya (The Lady)
Epithets And Titles
Gullveig (gold-greed) Her more magical and ruthless side is closely associated with fire due to her being burned but not harmed
Vanadis (lady of the Vanir) Her neural side has a little bit of all her aspects and is what you normally call on
Gefn (giver) Her motherly giving side associated with fertility and harvests etc
Horn (flax) Her side associated with Love, sex, and playfulness
Mardoll (root word Marr meaning sea. Sea bright) One of her sides associated with death and war
Syr (sow)
Valfreyja (Lady of the Slain) Another side associated with Death and War
Lady of fire
Heid (Völva from Voluspa)
Thrung
Lady of the Disir
Skialf
Queen of Folkvangr
Chief of the Vanir
Queen of the valkyrie
Possessor of the fallen
Ruling/Domain
Folkvangr is her realm and Sessrumnir is her hall.
(and is sometimes said to be where she takes her half of the dead but this is disputed)
Family
Njord is her father and her mother is never mentioned but is speculated to be Skadi or Njords sister, an unnamed Vanir goddess. Her twin is Frey(r). She has 2 daughters Hnoss and Gersemi both of which translate to "treasure" though only mentioned in Christian sources and Gersemi is only mentioned once. In the Eddas, it says she has a husband named Oðr which is one of Odin's names, and gets into the Frigga and Freyja debate.
History
I won't get too much into the debate on her and Frigga but by the myths, they are different and separate beings. Historically they were possibly the same once and split over time but they are not the same now.
Frøya has a necklace she always wears. Its name is Brisgamen is a torc/necklace made by the dwarves and frøya supposedly spent a night with each of them who made it to get Brisingamen. In other myths Thor wears it dressed as Frøya during the fake wedding to Thrym the giant who stole Thor's hammer, then when Loki stole it and gave it to Odin when Odin made her start a war to get it back.
She also had a Boar named Hildisvini "Battle-swine" which she turned her husband oðr into and rode in one of the myths.
In the Grimnismal translation, it says "then" Odin picks not "and" giving the idea Freyja picks first but it's never mentioned otherwise. But modernly we accept that she does have the first pick.
Gullveig is believed to be another name for frøya she was a sorceress who predicted the Æsir, Vanir war and was burned alive 3 times by the Æsir each time coming back to life and was struck by spears and still didn't die.
She, like Odin, was known to use many different names throughout the myths and in her travels.
She's the one who taught Odin and the other Æsir gods how to do Seidr magic.
After the Æsir, Vanir war they exchanged hostages, and Frøya, Njordh, and Frey went to live with the Æsir in Asgard.
It's rumored but never confirmed if Freyr and Freyja have Elven ancestors. But she is NOT a valkyrie; the only sources with that are later Christian sources; this is believed to be the same thing as making her out to be a love goddess and sexualizing her.
The myths never actually show her as a Vølva but her association with magic gives us the idea she is.
She also had a chariot that was pulled by cats sometimes people believe they’re Lynx.
Historical worship/practice
She had a fertility cult in the Viking age that stopped due to Christianity and a cult that lasted up until Snorri's age and time but that stopped soon after. She and Frigga were called on during childbirth, historically our source coming from a midwife.

I've finally got around to finishing my illustration of my DND character, Capgras Edda!
They/them, first-generation teifling and a bard. Capgras writes their own songs based off of folklore and cautionary tales with a twist of horror and surrealism. Their instruments are a viol (Maelstrom), a hurdy-gurdy (Bedlam) and a antler-carved flute (Siren).
The patterns on their technicolour-nightmare-coat are constantly in motion, but it's so slow that it's barely noticeable unless you get caught staring at it.
(image description under cut)
[ID: An illustration of a tiefling dungeons and dragons oc. Capgras has slightly desaturated red skin, horns that curl upward and long pointed ears. Their hair is in a long black braid that goes past their waist, with a silver tie at the end. Their eyes are akin to pale opals and are wide and mischivous, matching a wide, sharp-toothed grin.
Capgras is posed dramatically with their back arched, standing on their right leg with their left arched into the air behind them. Their long tail counter-balancing them, curled into an oval with the tail ending in a barb. Their arms are spread wide, holding a black-wood, skull shaped viol in their right hand and a black bow-string in their left.
Capgras is wearing black trousers with four silver buttons at the front, tucked into knee-high boots with silver heels and caps. A dark grey shirt with drooped sleeves that end at the elbow, and underneath is a long-sleeved black shirt that is shaped to their arms and ends in fingerless gloves, showing sharp nails.
The technicolour-nightmare-coat is sleeveless and hangs down to their knees, with a black belt tied around the waist. The coat is a pale rainbow fractal, matching Capgras' eyes.
Hanging off the belt in a rapier with a black hilt and scabbard. The guard is silver and in the shape of a treble clef. The pommel is tipped with an opal.
The background is black and there is a faint rainbow glow around the outline of Capgras.
End ID]

Propaganda:
Jonny d’Ville (The Mechanisms)
Since we’re not technically human
He’s so feral hes canonically committed every single crime theres a name for i think he deserves to have a tail that flicks around when hes being mischevous. perhaps some horns or fangs as well. as a treat
Idk why but he's a feral creature
Have you seen the man? Especially in that one picture where he is fully on the wall.
absolutely no canon implications that he isn't human, but that man* absolutely has a tail. and sharp teeth. and creature ears. he purrs but he pretends he doesn't and if you bring it up he'll bite you. he's had rabies more times than you can count.

Hi, I hope you're doing well. I was wondering if you could tell some things associated with Thor (crystals, animals, colors, food, etc.) I looked through your Thor tag and I didn't really find anything on that (sorry if I'm wrong)
Thanks! I hope you have a wonderful day/night :)
Hi there! I'm doing well, thank you for asking!
Now, I'm sorry to say that correspondences are a rather new phenomenon, and though they're popular in online spaces, one finds out with time that they might not really resonate, or feel truly "right". That's because followers of certain deities often experience these beings in vastly different ways. You might realize that though your friend associates a deity with the deer, that same deity seems to manifest themselves to you in the form of a serpent, instead! This is a grossly over-simplified example of how multifaceted deities can be. Symbolism, when it doesn't have any roots in history, varies wildly from one believer to another. That is why I often don't give much credit to set lists of "correspondences" found online. Especially when they pertain to crystals associated with norse deities! That's because so, so many of the more mainstream crystals you'll find in witchcraft and pagan spaces aren't native to the areas where these Gods were worshipped, and have been imported there quite late in history. For this reason, it's especially difficult to determine, "which crystal would fit the most with my perception of this nordic deity?".
But still, you'll be happy to hear that there are a few unmissable symbols of Thórr! The following symbols have all been associated with him at some point in history:
The bear! One of Thórr's more popular kennings today is Björn, or "Bear" (I often use Bear God in my prayers), which appears in the Snorri's Edda and in the rímur Lokrur.
The goat (by extension, cattle and livestock), as it was said that his chariot is pulled by two goats. One of the main theories concerning Sweden's very famous tradition of building a Yule goat (or using straw goats to decorate) is that it originally stemmed from this particular part of his myth.
Anything that's related to land fertility and the harvest! Sources often depict him as a God of the sky, bringing forth rains and the like. In Iceland, he was primarily worshipped as a fertility deity, giver of good harvests and plentiful soil.
Thursdays, as the term Thursday itself stemmed from his name.
The rowan tree! As I've mentioned before in this post, oral tradition has it Thórr had once been saved by rowan tree which he grabbed, thus saving himself from drowning. This is why the rowan is often considered his sacred tree.
The anvil, as a popular saying had it thunder was the sound of Thórr beating his, as he worked in his forge.
The belt of power Megingjörð, the iron gloves Járngreipr and the hammer Mjöllnir, which grant him part of his strength.
The oak. These particular trees were often associated with thunder deities (famously, with Zeus) because they tend to be the highest individuals in a forest, making them the most likely to be struck by lightning. What's more, 8th century bishop Willibald, in his Vita Bonifatii auctore Willibaldo, tells us of "Donar's oak" ("Thor's oak"), a sacred oak tree which was located in modern day Germany and which was important to local pre-christian worship. This tree was notoriously cut down by missionary Saint Boniface, and what its location might have been unfortunately remains a mystery.
Tumblr media
Now, if I'm to dive deeper into his symbols and associations, I'll first mention the Miðgarðsormr, the World Serpent Jörmungandr, a figure which he faces twice in the myths! They are often depicted together, locked in combat, and one of Thórr's oldest attested myths is the one in which he accidentally fishes Jörmungandr after having used a bull's head as bait. Pulling fiercely against each other, they made the sea so agitated that it seemed to be boiling.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Drinking horns can also be associated with him, as he was said to be the best drinker out of all the Æsir! In one of his major myths, he is given a horn to drink by the jötunn figure Útgarða-Loki, who, unbeknownst to Thórr, has magically made it to fill with all of the ocean's water, making it impossible for the liquid to ever run out, or even lower. Still, Thórr drank so much from it than the ocean's level dropped, which stunned Útgarða-Loki. This might have been an early tale to explain the tides!
As for my personal experiences, I tend to associate him with the color red! After all, he was said to be a redhead! And this color feels both warm and fierce, two words I would use to describe Thórr! Earthy colors, like deep greens and browns feel very much like him to me, as well. After all, he is said to be the Son of the earth, and this part of his myth has always been super prominent in my worship when it comes to him. The Futhark runes Uruz and Algiz are also present in my Thórr worship, due to their association with strength and protection respectively. However, the rune Thurisaz (or Thurs) is generally considered his main rune association, as it's often said to represent giants, and their main mythological antagonist by extension. Now this is more UPG, but as for foods, I personally associate him with red meats, hearty winter meals and alcohols, especially beer and mead!

Also I am throwing this random idea at you
Worldless × Hollow Knight crossover
"The Abyss is sealed for a reason-it's no place for common bug, let alone beings of light. Should you choose to break that seal and brave its depths, do not expect to return."
Edda simply stared at the horned creature clad in red. Aven whispered from their closet. "She thinks I'm a being of light?" His tone sounded mocking.
"...let's go." She tipped him out with the grace of an adamantoise and walked up to the sealed door, inspecting the network of light that arose when she touched its rough surface.
"So what do you think- green sword?" Aven groaned after brushing off the dust he gathered from his tumble. "You know this stuff's dangerous for me, right?"
"And you kept pushing me into water just to be sure. Well, I want to be certain as well."
"Ass."
"Green sword, but there's not enough room to swing down, we'll have to stab it."
Hornet, to her credit, did not completely doubt them, as she glared in annoyance rather than dismissal. "If there is anyone unable to claim the King's Brand that could still breach the Abyss, it would be you, but do not assume a change in weaponry will assist you."
Edda and Aven replied in united division.
"You'll see/Just you wait."
The seal, to it's credit, held up for 8 seconds before the cosmic blade sank into the glowing sigil with a sharp chunk, turning the door to fragments.
__________
The little Knight was not hollow. It had ambition, goals it set for itself. It had compassion and kindness for the people of Hallownest; it did not have much to say, but offered it's companionship nonetheless. It had fears and nightmares, cornered and crawling in the dark with monsters and apathy.
So it was perhaps not so surprising, when the world shook and the ceiling shattered, when the Eye from Above fell; when the Knight returned to the one living kind soul it had known in these lands only to find them frozen with arm shielding from above, humming with energy that did not belong to it-
It was not so surprising that the Knight shrieked. The dream nail was in their hand immediately, seeking for a sign of what had happened.
They did not expect the teleportation. They walked past other old ones petrified in a past agony, spear piercing the body of one of them as it slowly turned to flakes. They walked past the field of spears, over a mockingly radiant floor. They beheld the light gently floating down from above, intent unreadable.
"ANOMALY. INVASION. OPPORTUNITY."
The Knight swung its nail, but there was nothing there to hit. It was as if they didn't exist.
"PERMISSION. VOID. EXISTENCE."
The light threw a multitude of spearpoints their way; the knight did their best to dodge, but their sword arm got briefly scraped by an errant projectile. Three masks broke.
"OPPORTUNITY. FOCUS."
The words of the higher being were clear enough to the knight after slogging through the gibberish of the archives in an attempt understand the Pale King's plan. It was going to be forced into focusing Soul.
"VESSEL. HONOR. GODHOOD."
The little Knight was not hollow-none of the vessels were. Even the abyss had an element of fullness to it that made it unsuited to containment of anything.
"VESSEL. NEW. CREATE."
No- the way of the Abyss was destruction. Consumption.
Absorption.
The knight's shell split in half as the Void Heart sprang forth, tendrils of darkness seeping in from all directions and weaving into the Void. The hunger of the God of the Abyss was as strong as ever, claws of darkness finding purchase on the curved light as it sunk its teeth into the core, cracking symbols of infinity.
All They could do was scream.

Völuspá
here is a thought. I can't be bothered to make this pretty so bear with me here.
Hosab ended with Azriel taking Bryce to the Town house which was empty in Acosf. Nobody lived there.
He gave no warning as he hauled her over a shoulder and tromped down a set of stairs before entering somewhere … nice-smelling. Roses? Bread? They ate bread in Hel? Had flowers? A dark, cold world, the Asteri had said in their notes on the planet. (hosab)
“But why live in this dump, when the town house was sitting empty?” (Acosf)
But in hosab there is clearly someone living there with the fireplace going and the house smelling like bread and roses. The question is who? (I made a post about how it might be Elain living there.) and how sarah is going to tackle this crossover in acotar world?
my take on this is that sarah seems to LOVE Norse myth and heavily inspired by it. There is a famous poem in Norse myth called Völuspá.
Vǫluspá (also Völuspá, Vǫlospá or Vǫluspǫ́; Old Norse: 'Prophecy of the völva, a seeress') is the best known poem of the Poetic Edda. It tells the story of the creation of the world and its coming end and subsequent rebirth, related to the audience by a völva addressing Odin. It is one of the most important primary sources for the study of Norse mythology. The poem is preserved whole in the Codex Regius and Hauksbók manuscripts while parts of it are quoted in the Prose Edda.
The poem is told by Völva(a seeress) to Odin about the creation of the world, it is end and rebirth.
who is a seer? Elain.
What created the acotar world? Cauldron
Who is cauldron obsessed with? Elain.
Who is rebirth? Elain. (?) if we take the book of breathings prophecy as Feyre= Life, Nesta=Death
Life and death and rebirth Sun and moon and dark Rot and bloom and bones Hello, sweet thing. Hello, lady of night, princess of decay. Hello, fanged beast and trembling fawn. Love me, touch me, sing me.
So is she gonna use Elain's book to tackle this creation of the world and it's end and "rebirth"? Does Elain's book take place before cc3 or it is gonna happen at the same timeline?
Now that's out of the way. We have Odin right? Völva tells the story to Odin.
In the poem Völva tells something to Odin about his eye.
The seeress then reveals to Odin that she knows some of his own secrets, and that he sacrificed an eye in pursuit of knowledge. She tells him she knows where his eye is hidden and how he gave it up in exchange for knowledge. She asks him in several refrains if he understands, or if he would like to hear more.
Does it seem familiar? In koschei tales koschei hides his "soul" and there is a whole thing about it.
The most common feature of tales involving Koschei is a spell which prevents him from being killed. He hides his soul inside nested objects to protect it. For example, the soul (or in the tales, it is usually called "death") may be hidden in a needle that is hidden inside an egg, the egg is in a duck, the duck is in a hare, the hare is in a chest, the chest is buried or chained up on a far island. Usually he takes the role of a malevolent rival father figure, who competes for (or entraps) a male hero's love interest.
And in Acowar Elain knows about Koschei's box of black stone.
Elain paused halfway up the stairs. Slowly, she turned to look back at him. “I saw young hands wither with age. I saw a box of black stone. I saw a feather of fire land on snow and melt it.”
Elain shifted her face toward him. Another blink. “They sold her—to … to some darkness, to some … sorcerer-lord …” She shook her head. “I can never see him. What he is. There is an onyx box that he possesses, more vital than anything … save for them. The girls. He keeps other girls—others so like her—but she … By day, she is one form, by night, human again.”
Another thing in the poem is that there is horn.  Heimdallr's horn, Gjallarhorn.
Later in Völuspá, the völva foresees the events of Ragnarök and the role in which Heimdall and Gjallarhorn will play at its onset; Heimdall will raise his horn and blow loudly.
Heimdall's horn, which will announce the final battle, is hidden under the sacred tree, where we find another curious object, Odin's eye.
Who has the horn tattooed to her body and fell to Acotar world? Bryce.
That's about it. Looks like Sarah wants to write Ragnarok :))))))))))

“Anglo-Saxon glass drinking-horn, VII c. Excavated in Rainham, London
Drinking horns are attested from Viking Age Scandinavia. In the Prose Edda, Thor drank from a horn that unbeknown to him contained all the seas. They also feature in Beowulf, and fittings for drinking horns were also found at the Sutton Hoo burial site.”

Heimdall: Guardian, Liberator, Other
Heimdall is one of the more enigmatic figures in the Norse pantheon, despite there being a fair amount of material regarding the god. I've spent time researching Heimdall's role in the myths, the Norse cosmology, and modern heathenry. This is primarily a buffet of thoughts I'm offering up, so I hope it's helpful in some way!
So let's start with what we do know. We know Heimdall:
guards the Bifrost with unmatched eyesight and hearing;
was born of nine mothers (most frequently understood to be the nine daughters of Aegir and Ran);
has golden teeth, a mighty sword, and a horn which he will blow to signal Ragnarok;
is a watchman for all the Aesir and Vanir, but is particularly protective of Freyja/Frigg;
fights with Loki twice: once to win back Frigga's necklace, and another time, a mutually-lethal battle with Loki again at Ragnarok;
fathered the basic social classes in Rígsþula (or Rígsmál). This is the item I want to explore most, in a bit.
Concerning his classification, it is tricky to define what Heimdall is precisely. H.R. Ellis Davidson writes: "We have a good deal of material about this god, and the figure which emerges from Snorri's description of him and from references in the poems is that of a mysterious, impressive power, with a strong personality of his own. He does not however fit into any recognized category among the divinities."
He is called the "White As," so he would be a member of the Aesir, right? Well his mothers are elemental spirits of the ocean, born of the Jotuns Aegir and Ran, so he'd be part Jotun, right? But what of his reproduction/fertility ties with the Rig myth and his connection to Freyja--would he be part of the Vanir? There is also an additional categorization that may fit best but offers more questions than answers:
"Interestingly, Heimdall is referred to as "muddy-backed,"" writes Patricia Lafayllve. "Since he has the mud of Yggdrasil and Wyrd on him, he may be more akin to the Norns themselves, and part of the larger cosmology..."
Regardless of how Heimdall fits into the divine org-chart, his involvement with (and impact on) humanity and Midgard is matched only by Odin and Thor. This brings me to the last point I want to touch on: Heimdall and the creation of social classes. It's not a comfortable fact that many cultures operating during the "Viking era" had strict social classes, including thralldom and slavery. How, then, can we, as modern heathens, interpret the myth of Rig, and what can we take away from it?
"The idea of physically distinct classes of humanity, seemingly destined by nature to servitude farming, and rulership, is problematic for modern readers," Diana Paxton writes. "[This myth] has been called a repellent poem, with clear intimations of a kind of racism implicit in the description of the various social classes. Yet on closer examination, it does not support the idea of fixed social classes in a divinely ordained hierarchy. The human parents are named great-grandfather and great-grandmother, grandfather and grandmother, and father and mother. Heimdall is clearly watching over a lineage through the generations. One could read this myth as an account of the evolution of human culture… In this reading, humans liberate themselves, and at times, Heimdall provides sparks of divinity to move this process along. In short…Heimdall could be seen as a bringer of liberation."
That interpretation was beneficial to me. I'd never known what to do with this myth, and it seemed too big to ignore, but reading it through this lens helped immensely. Heimdall could inspire our society to create equity across different professions. He could be someone to ask when we pray for our world's societal advancement toward empathy, dignity, and justice.

Odin, the All-Father
I know that I hung
on the wind-swept tree
all nine nights
with spear was I wounded
and given to Odin,
myself to me,
on that tree which no one knows
from which roots it grows.
Bread I was not given,
no drink from the horn,
downwards I glared;
up I pulled the runes,
screaming I took them,
from there I fell back again.
- excerpt from Sturluson's Prose Edda.

jörmungandr, the world serpent (asteroid 471926)
Tumblr media
Jörmungandr is the son of the god Loki and the giantess Angrboða. Jörmungandr and his siblings, Hel and Fenrir, were living in Jotunheim when a prophecy was brought forth to Odin that one of the children of Loki would cause devastation in the future. With this knowledge Odin ordered that they be removed from the enemy land of the giants while they were young; Jörmungandr was hurled into the sea by Odin, Odin had hoped that the ocean would destroy the serpent. Jörmungandr grew to be an extremely large serpent as he consumed the sea - he was so large that he could encircle the entire world. Jörmungandr is often thought of as the original ouroboros. Jörmungandr is considered the archenemy of Thor. Thor's hatred of the creature stems from a myth in which Thor and company visited the land of the giants - the gods came to the gates of a castle but could not open the gates. The bars were luckily widely spaced in the land of the giants, so they were able to slip in - the king of the castle was put off by their unexpected arrival and said to them if they wanted hospitality, they would have to complete three tasks. Lift the king's cat from the ground - Thor was incapable of completing the task, he was only capable of lifting a paw from the ground. The next task was to drink the entirety of the castle's drinking horn - Thor who normally could handle his drink was not capable of completing this task again. Thor was irate and demanded that he fight one of the king's fiercest warriors as the final task. The king stated he could fight the castle's nurse who was an old woman - he failed this task too. The king confessed to them that he had used magic to trick the gods: the cat was Jörmungandr who Thor nearly pulled from the ocean, the horn was linked to the ocean and Thor nearly drained the ocean, and the old woman was actually the personification of age which no one has ever beaten. Thor was angered by this and went to swing at the king, but the king and his castle disappeared; from then on the king and Jörmungandr were considered enemies of Thor. Some believe this king was Loki in disguise who was attempting to free his son from his confinement. In one myth recounted in Prose Edda, Thor fishes for the serpent and fails to pull him up and kill him. During Ragnarök all three of Loki's children would join the chaos and battle against the gods - Jörmungandr would be killed by Thor at this battle, but Thor is thought to have died from one of Jörmungandr's poisonous bite. IN MY OPINION Jörmungandr in a chart can symbolize a) unknown and unexpected transformation, b) where you are large than most things, c) where people constantly try to end you, d) your connection to the ocean, and/or e) how banishment changes you.

I really like the Bifrost Incident.
So let’s take a look at a few of my favorite details
- Lífþrasir is one of the two humans to survive ragnarok, Edda is of course a reference to the Eddas
- Odin cannot kill Loki in Norse myth (blood brothers) so he chains up Loki in a punishment worse then death —> Odin does not kill Loki, instead mutating her brain
- “All I can recall is sunshine, and it’s merry song” while perhaps just referencing being imprisoned, it also could reference Baldur and a remorse for killing him
- MISSILE TWO JESUS CHRIST JONNY (Loki killed Baldur with mistletoe”
- Garm is referenced as a hound that guards hel’s gate, with associations with the twilight of the gods
- Hati and Skoll are the wolves that chase the Sun and moon, and when they catch the bodies that signals the end times— they’ve finally caught up
Kinda cool that the gang that Sigyn brings are all wolves
- Kvarsir was the god of poetry, turned to a wine (kinda?) through trickery by Odin, which he drunk, giving him even more knowledge
- Heimdall is the first to die- he is the one who signals the end times with his horn “he’s skinned alive by his own cry the end is neigh”, he’s also a far-seer so only his eyes remain
- Frey is killed by Surt, the king of the fire giants, represented by a giant sun. For his wife he lost his sword and it was prophesied that without his sword he’d die to surt => “no weapon, no defense, as his void burnt flesh is flayed”
- Odr is obscure, but he is Freya’s husband, who leaves for some reason, causing Freya to cry red-gold. I could not find anything on Freya’s death
- Tyr lost his hand to Fenris’s mouth when they bound him (implication is Tyr could’ve been a spy involved in Fenrir’s capture), he regrows it only to die in battle with Garm, as is prophesied
- Odin becomes Jormungandur, the one prophesied to kill Thor. The emphasis on the one eye is interesting because the lost eye was a sacrifice for knowledge.
- Interestingly Odin might be one of the few who escaped her fate, (aside from Loki, perhaps the only one?) she’s supposed to die to Fenrir. I take this as an indication of how much she’s warped the plot by calling outer gods
- For his transgressions, Loki was locked under the world, tied to a table with a snake dripping poison into his eyes above him. Sigyn joined him, holding a bowl to keep the poison at bay. —> How they delay the train :(

solas exchange fics!!
this post is criminally late omg but I finally got around to it! This was by far the most fun I’ve ever had with an exchange (not to toot our own horn lmao) and there were so many many many beautiful works created that I’m gonna rec more fics than usual!
My gifts:
strike a match (whisper my name) by @dreadfutures (Solas & Dorian, 8500 words, T rated)
Blood magic. Blight magic. Time magic.
From the earliest troubles of the Inquisition, it is clear that the topics are intertwined, and Dorian is determined to tease it all out. He is, after all, the brightest thaumaturge Minrathous has seen in an Age.
If only Solas would recognize the fact, they might truly get somewhere.
A Dorian pov that’s both delightful and makes you feel things 🥺🥺 Dorian is so very clever, and pushes back juuust enough to get some fun reactions from Solas 👀👀 Also this fic follows them both through-out the inquisition AND afterwards, so that was Fun 👀
-
Fen'Harel and the Halla by sweaterghost (Fen’harel & Ghilan’nain, 2500 words, T rated)
Reality seems to break, as if Ghilan’nain has torn it apart with her hands.
The new creature emerges from that break as if born, bloody and panting on the floor of Ghilan’nain’s laboratory.
And it is horrible.
Or: Solas remembers his friendship with Ghilan'nain and how it fell apart. Told in vignettes.
Some G L O R I O U S horror happening in this fic 👀👀👀👌👌👌Beautiful and dark and visceral, this was everything I could have ever hoped for in a Ghilan’nain fic 👌 gimme more cold pitiless mad scientist Ghil please and thank you
My offering:
shed all your layers (Anders & Solas, 4300 words, T rated)
When Anders returns blearily to consciousness the first thing he sees is the earthy ceiling of a cave, badly illuminated by a nearby campfire. The second thing he sees, when he turns his head, is a pair of luminescent eyes staring right at him.
“Maker!” Anders jerks upright, scrambling for his staff. His magic flares up in a sputtering, flimsy barrier. “What the—who the hell are you?”
The pair of eyes belongs to an elven man, crouching next to Anders, wearing traveler’s clothes and a neutral, calm expression. “Good. I see your body has recovered,” he says, evidently unfazed by both the shouting and the magic. He rises up—and up, and up; this stranger is tall—and turns back towards his campfire. “Do try not to make any more sudden movements though.”
Two hermits, carrying their own secrets, stumble upon each other.
well!! I don’t have anything to say about this other that I had an enormous amount of fun writing it! 😂 I never knew how much I wanted these two to snipe at eachother until I had it. Also while Justice wasn’t a significant enough presence to merit his own tag, his ghost haunts the narrative the entire time
special shoutouts to:
where all roads lead by @apostacism/wilderferns (Solas/Female Lavellan, 10000 words, T rated)
"Lavellan sometimes came awake from dreams in which her lover watched her sadly from across an endless distance."
Solas means to stay away. It would be easier in the long run. Yet he turns ever back to her, chasing in dreams what he cannot have in reality.
one of the most AMAZING!!!! solavellan fics I’ve read in ages!!! like seriously if you like this ship and you read nothing else on this list PLEASE give this one a try, it’s so lyrically beautiful and a PERFECT Solas characterisation and honestly I’m still reeling from this fic, it’s gonna be living rent-free on my mind pretty much permanently from now on 👌
-
The Eyes of Gods by @edda-grenade/apfelgranate (Mythal & Solas, 2000 words, T rated)
Pride has grown in power from a mere spirit, in serving as the All-Mother’s messenger. Mythal thinks it should keep growing, but Pride has reservations.
gorgeous gorgeous prose, very atmospheric and evocative and, for the lack of a better term, Mythological TM. Also Solas’s depiction as a spirit in this is one of the best I’ve seen!
-
Celestine Black by @queenaeducan/theharellan (Josephine & Solas, 2400 words, G rated)
Though Skyhold's guests may be of noble blood, their manners often leave much to be desired. When one insults the Inquisition's resident magical expert, who just so happens to be an apostate, Josephine takes it upon herself to remedy the situation. In typical Montilyet fashion.
as always this author delivers pure gold! a very thoughtful and careful character study both of Josephine and of Solas as seen though her clever eyes. Delightful!
-
in our eternity, only darkness reigns by @rosella-writes (Dirthamen & Solas, 2000 words, T rated)
Solas accompanies the Inquisitor to the Lost Temple of Dirthamen. The experience digs up old memories Solas had nearly forgotten.
SUCH a good, dark atmosphere in this one! Also the Solas Angst TM is unparalleled 👌👌 read this if you want to feel the crushing weight of an unchaning, uncaring world lol
AND ALRIGHT this post is already getting too long so I’m gonna really really super quickly mention some other fics I liked:  this Alistair & Solas fic (seeing Solas though a stranger eyes is swiftly becoming my favourite trope ever, and Alistair’s voice here is absolutely fantastic), this Zevran/Solas fic (the flirting!! my god 🥰), this Iron Bull/Solas fic (soulmates au but make it HURT 👌)  and this solavellan fic (super ambitious, super intriguing, super pretty!)
okay I’m done!! whoof! also seriously just check the rest of the collection cause SO MANY of the works we got were gorgeous and I only talked about less than half of them!!! go see them for yourself!! and thank you to everyone who participated 🥰🥰🥰

Can you tell my about your fictotypes? I don't see as much fictionkin stuff here as other forms of alterhumanity. Would love to hear about your idenities.
Sure thing! We're glad to meet you.
(Including our system headmates here, since they also kind of count.)
So, I'm Aven, my main fictotypes are Aven (Worldless) and thunder manifestation (Genshin Impact). My Thunder manifestation one is pretty much similar to the Canon one, only that I'm mainly dark grey with deep purple accents, plus this one is most likely psychological. Also I consider this one my otherkin ID, not fictionkin.
My Aven one, however, is pretty canon divergent! I had horns, long ears, tail and wings! This is my main fictotype, and is who I consider myself to be! I also have a Cocoon (2023) Species kintype, but it's pretty much a minor one and I don't know if they're really a kintype or is actually an Alter.
~ 🔶️ [Aven]
[Plain Text: Large Diamond Emoji /End ID]
We Have an Edda, Angel and Summum (Hello!) alters. They're all canon divergent Worldless fictives, and they're pretty neat. Edda is kinda like a jerboa (Tail, ears and legs), Angel's name is Starfall and they're really cool (Wacky white to dark blue gradients, ear wings, talons/ claws and bird tail) and Summum is surprisingly canon compliant, it's just that I (Summum) has some dark green markings here and there.
~ 🦎 [Summum]
[Plain Text: Lizard Emoji /End ID]
We also have a V2 (Ultrakill) And Protagonist (OCTAHEDRON: Transfixed Edition) fictives, but they don't front much.
~ 🔶️ [Aven]
