I'm super happy to see all the love the new Pokemon anime is getting on here and on places like Twitter, but there's one thing that's been kind of bugging me for some reason...

Like, why does everyone keep insisting the younger members of the Rising Volt Tacklers are 10 years old? As of right now, their ages are unknown on the wiki.

I get that Ash was 10 and the OG anime said something about trainers starting their journey at 10, but that doesn't mean trainers have to start their journey at 10.

Plus, this could be a totally different AU from the OG anime, so the same rules might not apply.

And Liko's school uniform doesn't really look like one an elementary school student would wear to me. It looks more like a middle school or maybe even a high school uniform. Plus, I feel like 10 years old is a little young to go to boarding school, maybe?

And Idk, I feel like they all look and act older, too? (Except Roy. He acts like a 10 year old) I would believe Liko and Dot could be anywhere from like 12 to 15.

I think it would be super cool if the new anime broke the misconception that every character in the Pokémon universe is 10 years old and at least make Liko and Dot a little older. Not that there's anything wrong with them being 10 per say.

How did he think up ‘jschlatt’? What’s the J stand for, if anything? What about schlatt? Does it mean anything? Why does everyone call him Schlatt rather than J, the more common and easier to remember nickname? Is it because of how common it is that it wasn’t chosen? Was it chosen by the man himself or by his fans? Is it because J felt too informal when compared to Schlatt? Because I, too, feel that being informal with one such as jschlatt would end with my voice, name, or firstborn being taken away.

I absolutely adore the new Impmon line. Apparently so much so I wrote a wall of text gushing about it, but I'll put that under the cut to spare those who don't care's dash.

Where do I start, there's so much to love about this gift. The punk and reptilian ascetic blends perfectly into Beelzemon with his biker look and his lizard tail/claws so if you didn't want to go with the Megidramon mega you can swap in Beelzemon just fine. I honestly like it better thematically than the Wizardmon -> Baalmon line, (even though Baalmon is cooler aesthetically) it always bothered me that Wizardmon felt tacked on and slightly out of place since it wasn't a virus. I know the X antibody forms helped fold them together more design wise, and they're an awesome line, but that still doesn't fix the non-x line for me... not that all digimon need a clean and clear through line persay, but you know.

I've seen people call it "Just a recolor" and I feel like it's so much more than that. I've always liked the regional variants in Pokémon becuase they breathe new life into old designs while still making a unique feeling creature. It's the same principle here.

And while it's sad we didn't get a full canon Beelstarmon line, I like this so much more. And I feel like Impmon -> Witchmon -> LadyDevimon already fits Beelstarmon just as much as Wizardmon/Baalmon fits Beelzemon, so I don't really feel the need for a full new Fem line for Beelstarmon.

And the connections to Guilmom are just... chef's kiss. People have pointed out that Guilmon has a good sorcer line with FlareWizardmon -> Mistymon -> MedievalDukemon that matches up well with Impmon's Wizardmon line so Impmon getting a reptilian line to match up with Guilmon is just so cool. And it makes it all the cooler that Impmon was originally going to be Takato's partner, apparently.

I feel like I'm rambling, I just wanted to gush about the Punk Growlmon. After years of the Impmon line feeling rocky and incomplete on some levels, I feel like all is finally right with the world and my ocd with its line can finally rest. I don't like remembering the dark days where the best line we had was Meramon -> Skull/DeathMeramon -> Beelzemon. It gives me war flashbacks.

Now I need a Galletmon/Dukemon and Beelzemon jogress. Give it to me Bandai.

Sometimes I wonder how I didn't get any-core memory type of trauma when I was a little kid and instead until my near-tween to actual teenage years because childhood was sorta rough in a non-extreme way like most people until I realize it was probably because I wasn't super sentient and acted like a literal fetus until up to a certain toddler/infant age. Like I vividly remember being a really sensitive little girl atleast who cried infront of everyone when my Pre-K teacher would yell at me in the classroom, like I understand people can get sick and tired of little children being brats or whatever but how was I supposed to know anything??? I was like 4 or 5, lady...why are you yelling at a slightly more physically grown baby for being messy??You should atleast be somewhat more compassionate but maybe thats just me :/.
