the most important part of ducktales 2017 is when you watch challenge of the senior junior woodchuck and Della is finally added to the theme song intro. I have never screamed at a football game or shouted when my favorite player made a goal but I shriek every time I see the s3 intro for the first time

Compare/Contrast of Violet Sabrewing And Libby Stein-Torres
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. Here I’ll be doing a compare/constraint between Violet Sabrewing and Libby Stein-Torres. It occurred to me that those 2 have quite a bit in common but are also a bit different. Also, Spoiler Alert for the DuckTales (2017) TV series and The Ghost And Molly McGee TV series. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them are pretty well-versed when it comes to the supernatural. As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet was well-versed enough in the supernatural to know that Tulpas are manifestations of great desire. And as shown in the episode ‘Howlin’ Harriet’, Libby was well-versed enough in the supernatural to know about Howlin Harriet and who she was during her lifetime. The difference between Violet and Libby here, though, is how long they were interested in the supernatural. As also shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet didn’t believe in magic or the supernatural until the Shadow War and, as Violet told Webby: “All my life, I’ve been rational. Never giving things like magic a second thought. But when the Shadow War happened, it jolted something in me. Opened my eyes. There’s a world beyond textbooks and rational truths. One I’m compelled to know more about. Have you ever felt like you were living a sheltered life but there was something incredible just out of reach.” And as shown in the episode ‘Friend-Off’, Libby always believed in the supernatural even before seeing Scratch for the first time since, as she said in her recording device: “Supernatural Theory #37 Confirmed. Ghosts Do Exist.” Speaking of Violet’s and Libby’s intelligence…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them are very passionate when it comes to reading and learning. As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, when Webby told Violet that the book she had is written in ancient Syriac and that it may be a bit advanced, Violet replied with: “So am I” in ancient Syriac. And as shown in the episode ‘Monumental Disaster’, Libby was pretty ecstatic and was wearing a black coat and hat as she showed Molly a historical video about how Ezekiel Tugbottom was a fraud and that it was actually his sister Sally who was actually the real hero of Brighton. The difference between them there is how exactly they express that passion. As also shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet was still somewhat reserved and well-mannered as she was calmly talking to Webby about the Akkadian language and Violet also politely introduced herself and shook Webby’s hand during that same encounter. And as also shown in the episode ‘Monumental Disaster’, Libby was wearing a coat and hat and she was monologuing to Molly and said to her: “You have no idea how deep this rabbit hole goes” just before she showed her that historical video about how it was actually Sally who was the hero of Brighton and not her brother Ezekiel. So, Violet is pretty calm about her passion whereas Libby is pretty eccentric about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them are a bit socially awkward. As shown in the episode ‘Challenge Of The Senior Junior Woodchucks!’, Violet was pretty out of her depth when it came to friendly smack talk during competitions since she said to Huey: “Apologies. Lena told me that friendly smack talk is expected in competitions such as these.” And as stated in the episode ‘First Day Frights’, Libby was having trouble fitting in at school since she pronounced the popular girl Andrea’s name wrong. The difference between them there, though, is why they seem to be socially awkward. As shown in the episode ‘Challenge Of The Senior Junior Woodchucks!’, Violet had trouble doing friendly smack talk which probably means Violet doesn’t understand certain social cues all that well. And as stated in the episode ‘First Day Frights’, Libby said that she was bright-eyed before being treated like an outcast ever since she pronounced Andrea’s name wrong. So, I think that Violet is a bit socially awkward because she had a hard time understanding certain cues whereas Libby was a bit socially awkward because she was treated like an outcast for most of her life in school.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them are each friends with an easygoing optimist and a being from another realm. As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet became friends with Webby Vanderquack, an easygoing optimist who held onto hope that her friend Lena can be brought back from the Shadow Realm and Lena, a living shadow who came from the Shadow Realm. And as shown in the episode ‘Friend-Off’, Libby is friends with Molly McGee, an easygoing optimist who was hoping that Libby and Scratch would become friends and Scratch, a ghost who came from the Ghost World. Another similarity between them here is that Violet and Libby both had to help overcome jealousy that was related to their friendship in some form or fashion with 1 of their 2 friends in order to save the other. As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, Violet made Lena realize that it was her desire and her jealousy towards Violet about her being close to Webby that was fueling the Tulpas that took Webby and once Lena overcame that desire and jealousy, she and Violet were able to defeat the Tulpas and save Webby. And as shown in the episode ‘Friend-Off’, Libby and Scratch overcame their jealousy towards each other about who was Molly’s best friend in order to work together to save Molly from being sucked into a razer-sharp fan. The difference between them here, though, is whether or not Violet and Libby were feeling jealous themselves. As shown in the episode ‘Friendship Hates Magic!’, while Lena was feeling towards Violet, Violet wasn’t feeling jealous towards Lena. And as shown in the episode ‘Friend-Off’, while Scratch was feeling jealous towards Libby about who was Molly’s best friend, Libby was also feeling jealous towards Scratch about who was Molly’s best friend as well.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.

For my very first poll I have decided to do something that requires more than 10 options/choices and because there can only be one poll per post there will be multiple posts that all have to do with the same poll. This poll will be about which DuckTales (2017) episode you consider to be the best in the entire series. So if the episode you consider the best isn’t on this particular poll, don’t worry because there will be multiple posts that may have the episode you’re looking for on there. All the episode polls will end around the exact same time. Even though there will multiple posts with a poll dealing with which DuckTales (2017) episode you consider to be the best, please treat this as a single poll and vote for one episode only. For example if the episode you’re looking for is here and you voted for it on this poll, please don’t go to the other posts to vote for an episode that’s on that poll. Have fun! 😊 ❤️ 🦆

Ducktales day. Challenge of the senior jr woodchuck. Della added to the intro. Lena was adopted by Violet dads. I think that was plan to be episode but because two dads it was cut. Huey going insane trying to win the badge. Della going soccer mom about it. Scrooge and the bird. The missing mystery. Also why in Launchpad the scout leader? Like Launchpad a sweet guy but he shouldn't be in charge of them.
Cool to see Della in the intro now! That was a great touch.
I remember hearing that before, and yeah, they just never were able to show it properly in an episode. Lena is definitely doing a good job of being a supportive sibling!
That's what happens when you base so much of your identity on one single thing. You don't react well when that single thing ends up threatened in any way. At first I was rooting for him to win, but he honestly proved that he wasn't ready for that position. Violet more than earned it.
Della made me cringe so hard. It's so uncomfortable seeing a parent act like that, even if it's fiction. Huey must've been mortified.
It was a nice little lesson for Scrooge, I think. Focus on charting a new course when it comes to adventures, not just retreading what others have already done all the time.
I was reading the Ducktales 2017 wiki, and apparently back in season 1 it was mentioned that all the other troop leaders quit after Launchpad crashed the Junior Woodchuck bus. Still not very responsible of them to leave him as the only one watching over the kids...

Ducktales Rankings
So I realized that most of the things that I post or reblogged on here are about Rise of the TMNT and while I love that show to bits, I realized that I haven't talked nearly enough about my first love/obsession and that is Ducktales 2017.
Sadly as the show has been over for over a year now, I'm not into it as I used to be. Yet, I still read some fanfics and still love the characters, especially my boys: Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
I have decided to do a rankings list of the show. That being said, I haven't seen an episode in a while but my rankings are pretty much firmly in place. Also I won't rank every episode as that is too long so I am only doing the top 5 worst and top 5 best from every season and then taking those lists and doing a top 10 list of the whole show.
With that being said, let's Dew this!!!
Season 1 (Worst)

DuckTales Character Songs! (Part 3)
Okay, you should hopefully know the drill by now. So today, I’ll be highlighting characters that debuted in Season 2, and choosing songs that I think best fit them.
For whatever reason, I did not think of doing this last week, but if you want to look back at my previous songs, here are the links to the first two parts:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 2, continued
And again, shout-out to @glowyjellyfish for brainstorming help.
Fethry Duck
Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin
What better song to match with Donald’s marine biology-loving cousin? Even though Fethry has his head in the clouds most of the time, his heart belongs to the ocean. Even if living in an underwater research lab isn’t the most ideal of conditions, Fethry makes it work.
Zan Owlson
Woman by Kesha (feat. The Dap-Kings Horns)
As the old adage goes, Owlson is a strong, independent woman who don’t need no man. She took over Glomgold’s company for him after he was stricken with amnesia. She probably makes plenty of money out of it. She works hard, and she’s good at what she does.
José Carioca and Panchito Pistoles
The Three Caballeros by Clarence Nash, José Oliveira, and Joaquin Garay from The Three Caballeros
Because of course.
The Three Ghosts of Christmas
Past, Present and Future by Emility
The lyrics do a good job of summing up what each of the three ghosts traditionally represent.
Lieutenant Penumbra
Power by Little Mix
This song is big, badass, bombastic, and screams female empowerment. It’s absolutely perfect for Penny.
General Lunaris
Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater Revival
It’s not just because the song has the word “moon” in the title. It’s also kind of a metaphor for Lunaris being basically a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and for the invasion that he enacted that led to the final battle of Season 2.
Violet Sabrewing
Killer Queen by Queen
Violet is an absolute enigma of a character. She’s smart, serious, intense, has a couple major hyperfixations, and is super blunt; she can be hard to read, but whoever she lets into her inner circle, she is steadfast loyal and supportive of them, as we’ve seen in episodes like Friendship Hates Magic! or Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks! (even though we totally should’ve gotten more elaboration from the latter episode on her relationship with Huey). Okay, getting off track. The point is, this song kind of explains how with Violet, there is more than meets the eye. There’s more complexity to her than the casual fan might think.
John D. Rockerduck
Money, Money, Money by ABBA
We don’t know a whole lot about Rockerduck in the show, other than that he’s a super rich capitalist. So…money.
Gandra Dee
No Roots by Alice Merton
I think the tone and lyrics of the song really fit Gandra’s rebellious nature. Gandra doesn’t like being tied down to one place. She’s mysterious, with a complicated past. And I think this song sums that up well.
Drake Mallard
Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson
“If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and then make a change.” Drake’s a down-on-his-luck actor, trying to make an impact. But Launchpad ultimately taught him that the biggest possible impact that he could make in life is helping others. And that inspired him to take up the mantle of his childhood hero and become the terror that flaps in the night, the combination lock on the vaults of justice, Darkwing Duck. And this classic MJ track mails the point home beautifully.

One of the things I love about this show is how they handle Della being an amputee.
The writers don’t make a huge deal about it in that they don’t have Della wallowing in self-pity over it, or complaining in every episode about phantom sensations or her prosthesis being uncomfortable, even though those are probably things she realistically deals with from time to time.
The writers also don’t have her family making a huge fuss, treating her like she’s disabled and incapable. They don’t constantly ask her if she’s okay or if she needs to sit this adventure out or any of that. It seems they live by the unspoken rule Don’t make a fuss unless Della does, and since she doesn’t, they don’t.
At the same time, the writers also don’t ignore it entirely. Frank talked about how they have moments when Della uses her prosthesis to her advantage, or times when she cleans or adjusts it.
But then there are also little moments like the above gifs.
In “Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks!” Della spent the whole episode walking, running, and jumping, seemingly with no problem, just like many real amputees can. But she landed on her prosthesis jumping out of the log, and seemed to land on both feet jumping from a ledge. Then she ran some more. Maybe by the end of the episode her residual limb was starting to bother her, but she didn’t complain. She just borrowed Louie’s head and Scrooge’s face to lessen the impact on her residual limb as she stepped down prosthesis-first.
Tumblr media
And then in “Quack Pack!” we see Louie and Scrooge giving her a hand after they all fell through the ceiling together. They don’t make a huge deal out of it like, “Oh no! Are you okay? Are you hurt? You poor, already-disabled thing!” They just noticed she wasn’t getting up right away and lent her a hand without saying a word.
Tumblr media
Sometimes I pay attention to how she moves, since Frank said they worked closely with the Amputee Coalition on how she’d move, and I’ve noticed after a whole lot of physical activity, she’ll tend to put the majority of her weight on her right leg.
Just like many amputees in real life, there are times she moves around like she would if she still had both of her natural legs, and if she wore long pants you couldn’t tell the difference. But there are also times she needs a little bit of support... and still other times when her prosthetic limb is an asset rather than a hindrance. How she’s doing in one scene might not be how she’s doing in the next, because that’s how it is for an amputee sometimes. How a residual limb feels can change in a moment.
It’s these little moments when you can see the care the writers have taken with Della.

Compare/Contrast of Huey Duck And Isabel Castillo Flores
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok. Here I’ll be doing a compare/contrast between Huey Duck from the DuckTales (2017) TV series and Isabel Castillo Flores from the Elena Of Avalor TV series. It occurred to me that those 2 have quite a bit in common but are also a bit different. Also, Spoiler Alert for the DuckTales (2017) TV series and the Elena Of Avalor TV series. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them are pretty smart children who were able to use their intelligence to help during dangerous situations. As shown in the episode ‘Day Of The Only Child!’, Huey was able to use his intelligence to reprogram a rampaging robot. And as shown in the episode ‘Sister Of Invention’, Isabel was able to use her intelligence to save her sister Elena from plummeting to her death. The difference between them here, though, is what they want to do with their intelligence in the future. As shown in the episode ‘Challenge Of The Senior Junior Woodchucks!’, Huey wants to use his intelligence to become a great member of the Junior Woodchucks even if it meant going through a dangerous hike in order to do so. And as shown in the episode ‘Science Unfair’, Isabel wants to use her intelligence to excel in academics and receive a quality education in school. So, Huey wanted to apply his intelligence in an adventurous fashion whereas Isabel wanted to apply her intelligence in a more down-to-earth fashion. Also, on that note, Huey and Isabel both learned to consider others before their own ambition in those same episodes. In the episode ‘Challenge Of The Senior Junior Woodchucks!’, Huey learned to concede defeat to Violet Sabrewing even if that meant he lost his promotion in the ranks of the Junior Woodchucks. And in the episode ‘Science Unfair’, Isabel learned that she shouldn’t push her friends away while working on her presentation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them firmly believe in logic. As shown in the episode ‘Quack Pack!’, Huey realized he and his family were trapped in a TV show by analyzing the environment around him and figuring out that the place they were in was designed like a TV set. And as shown in the episode ‘Team Isa’, Isabel was able to come up with a plan to stop Tito The Magic Bandit involved freezing his hypnotic guitar which ended in success. This also means that Huey’s and Isabel’s sense of logic is their strength. However, for both of them, it can also be their weakness. As shown in the episode ‘The Split Sword Of Swanstantine!’, Huey wanted to outsmart Steelbeak with a thought-out strategy but to no avail. And as shown in the episode ‘The Heart Of The Jaguar’, Isabel was having trouble using her sense of logic to navigate through a Wonderland-like dimension and, later on, saving her sister Elena from King Jaguar. The difference between them there, though, is what they had to do in order to adjust accordingly. As also shown in the episode ‘The Split Sword Of Swanstantine!’, while he and Lena were in his mind, Huey unleashed his rage that he had locked away in a corner of his mind and, with Lena’s coaching, was able to control and use it to take down Steelbeak after they were back in the real world. And as also shown in the episode ‘Heart Of The Jaguar’, with help from her pet guinea pigs Peaches and Paco, Isabel was able to overcome her fear of what was happening and was able to use her courage to save her sister Elena. So, Huey relied on his rage while Isabel relied on her courage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them had a relative who kept a secret relating to the loss of their parent(s). As shown in the episode ‘The Last Crash Of The Sunchaser!’, Huey’s great uncle Scrooge kept a secret that he built a ship called the Spear Of Selene that Huey’s mother Della took which led to her disappearance. And as shown in the episode ‘The Magic Within’, Isabel’s cousin Esteban made a deal with an evil sorceress named Shuriki to help her invade Avalor which led to the deaths of her parents. The difference between them here, though, is how exactly they reacted upon learning about their relative’s dark secret. As shown in the episode ‘The Shadow War Part 1: The Night Of De Spell!’, Huey was at first furious with Scrooge to the point that he moved out of the mansion along with his brothers and destroyed the Mt. Neverrest T-shirt he obtained from that adventure he had with Scrooge up, well, Mt. Neverrest in the episode ‘The Impossible Summit Of Mt. Neverrest!’. But as shown in the episode ‘Dreamcatcher’, Isabel wanted to talk about Esteban after learning about his dark secret about her parents while saying that she had been thinking about him a lot lately. A similarity between them here, though, is that they were willing to give their relative another chance. Later on in the episode ‘The Shadow War Part 1: The Night Of De Spell!’, Huey was willing to give Scrooge another chance after learning that he also almost rendered himself bankrupt to try to locate Della. And as shown in the episode ‘Coronation Day Part 3’, Isabel seemed willing to give Esteban another chance after learning that he was willing to sacrifice himself to save Elena. And in both cases, Huey and Isabel reconciled with their relative. As shown in the episode ‘The Shadow War Part 2: The Day Of The Ducks!’, Huey, along with his 2 brothers Dewey and Louie, reconciled with Scrooge. And as also shown in the episode ‘Coronation Day Part 3’, Isabel, along with the rest of her family, reconciled with Esteban.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both of them went through struggles related to their leadership skills which were, in some way, related to their sibling(s). As shown in the episode ‘Day Of The Only Child!’, Huey was having trouble leading a couple Beagle Boys he befriended after getting tired of the way his brothers refuse to follow his lead. And as shown in the episode ‘Team Isa’, Isabel was having trouble leading her friends to stop Tito The Magic Bandit since she was mimicking the way her sister Elena led her own friends. The difference between them here, though, is how their sibling issues were related to them having trouble leading. Throughout the DuckTales (2017) TV series, it was established that Huey was the oldest of the 3 triplets which means that in the episode ‘Day Of The Only Child!’, Huey was the older sibling who was tired of his younger siblings constantly ignoring him and refusing to follow his lead. And it was established throughout the Elena Of Avalor TV series, Isabel was Elena’s little sister which means that in the episode ‘Team Isa’, Isabel was the younger sibling who wasn’t used to leading in her own way since leading was usually left up to her older sibling. Thankfully, both of them were able to overcome their struggles. As also shown in the episode ‘Day Of The Only Child!’, Huey reconciled with his brothers and they were able to overcome the situation they were in together. And as also shown in the episode ‘Team Isa’, Isabel learned to lead in her own way and thus was able to lead her friends to defeat Tito The Magic Bandit.
Well, that’s all for this post.
See you all next time.

Challenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks!:
The mosquito is not what it seems
Quack Pack!:
The life in Quack Pack is not what it seems
Double-O-Duck in You Only Crash Twice!:
The Funzo Zone is not what it seems
The Lost Harp of Mervana!:
The Mermaids are not what they seem
If it wasn't for the theme of legacy, I would describe this season so far as: Things are not what they seem.
