Rule #5 Don't eat the butter in the cafeteria

Have you heard what they say? What you should do if you start to find an unpleasant aftertaste to the meals you eat in the main cafeteria? They say it's a sharp tang that crawls up your throat and coats your tongue. Check the ingredients, the common link will be butter. But it's no intolerance, or spoiled food. It's how he finds you.

They say like Calabar beans, it only effects the guilty. A way for him to pick out those with skeletons in their closets. but what it is for certain is an omen. A dark, greasy stain begins to spread slowly, reluctantly, seeping through your bedroom wall. Foul and glistening he emerges. Rivulets of some unspeakable substance rolls off his body, oozing down the wallpaper. Formless limbs slither beneath his melting frame, creeping toward you with a single minded purpose. He's a guilty conscience made manifest.

So promise him. Admit the wrongs you've wrought, swear you'll do better and promise with everything you have you'll try to set things right. They say that's your only hope.

The morning after feels like a fever dream. It's easy to to rationalise, some botulism based hallucination perhaps. But did you know? no matter how foul,

you can't get food poisoning from rancid butter.

What do you think remnant Byakuya would do to force himself deeper into despair? I know he would likely kill his butler (Aloysius was literally the hostage taken for his motive video for the KG, I refuse to believe Byakuya wouldn’t feel a large amount of despair over it) and probably tank his father’s company financially because he wants that added bonus of feeling like a failure and a disappointment to his family name.

I think that in a similar way that Junko created the tragedy to bring despair to all and have fun watching unpredictable chaos, Byakuya would work towards taking over the entire world’s powers and then destroy it from the inside to satiate his ego; proving that he is as powerful as he says he is. I don’t think he would kill Pennyworth immediately. Assuming that he is a loyal butler and will follow a despaired Byakuya, he could prove to be useful enough to keep around. (If he doesn’t follow him anymore and tries to enact change is a different story but…) But once Byakuya doesn’t need him anymore, I believe Pennyworth will be betrayed similarly like Mukuro’s fate which will give him that bigger despair that he would crave.

Not to mention if his friends are still alive.... Oh dear....

I have to say, having an unmistakable monster-fucker moment while your ex-something turns their transformation on the enemy ("I have never seen anything so beautiful, and I certainly won't leave her alone, and I have never seen Maw looking like she was on the back foot.) followed by an emotionally charged magic chant that builds into raw screaming at the climax is extremely effective in endearing me to the characters involved.

Dr. Elsie Roberts and Rajan Savarimuthu might be my favorite Tide & Bone members at the end of this episode.

#and then immediately after this moment we go back to lovingly described gore I love what Aabria's doing with this #Candela Obscura #Candela Obscura spoilers #Candela 3-1 #Rajan Savarimuthu #Dr. Elsie Roberts #horror cw #In contrast by the end of the first episode of Vassal and the Veil I pretty much loved everyone but oh well.#I do like Aabria Iyengar GMing Candela better than anyone else so far because she notes #that the stakes of a roll are important for certain abilities and narrates accordingly #Cosmo is pretty impressive on Liam's acting and Oscar's backstory is horrifying but neither I think sell it as hard #Also Aabria's narration resolving the scene in the lobby was fantastic.#I think my gay gender-fuckery feelings towards Ashley Johnson playing a scrappy young man win out for overall favorite though

I just finished Tress, and let me just say Dr. Ulaam was definitely a favorite (I love imagining how insufferable he was to Hoid with those quotes post-curse-breaking)

Have you heard what they say?

If you've got something you want to sneak to a friend during class you're better off just waiting. You might think it's a harmless thrill, the only risk being forced to read the note aloud, or maybe a demerit. But that's only if it's the teacher who catches you.

Not everyone is so lenient

It starts with a sudden static buzz from your intercom, That's when you'll find the note pushed underneath your door.

A room number, and a length of time. It reads like a detention slip,

and it's best to do as you are told.

He'll be waiting for you. They say he's easy to overlook. Stock still and standing with his back turned to face you. He resembles a store front mannequin, the old Hope's Peak formal uniform hanging on his frame like an exhibit. Take a seat. The room is too quiet, oppressive and weighty, like when it snows in the night. Even the irregular tick of the clock is muffled, the time it marks seeming to stretch out into eternity. It's said it makes you want to scream.

But if there's one thing all the stories agree on it's that you must endure.

provoke him to turn and they say you'll see a face that promises discipline. His eyes are red smouldering hollows, the glowing maw of a coal pit, set in an unflinching glare. Tears burn twin trails down his sunken, pallid cheeks and his face is framed with a blazing halo of white. Some go so far as to call him a devil. A devil who wields a pick axe in his left hand. He checks his watch. You haven't been dismissed. You'd better hope you can hold out until then.
