An absolutely massive, thick-furred, very physically intimidating, scar-striped cat…

But in camp? They’re just a big buff baby.

Most of their free time is spent exploring, wandering the territory and beyond, looking for hidden secrets and treasures. They often get in trouble for crossing borders due to this, but they’re too curious to really care much. Twolegplace is a common and favored place to visit.

They also spend much of their time in the territory just lazing about in patches of plants, searching for flowers, interesting blooms, or clovers. Due to this, they’re almost always covered in grasses.

Due to their very one-way manner of thinking, they can also be quite naive. Very easy to manipulate because of this, though none have yet to try due to their appearance.

Not great with confrontation, or in battle. They’re not very good at fighting, and their tongue isn’t especially swift (nor are their paws), but they’re exceedingly tough — especially when it comes to cold weather, oddly enough — and can take quite a few hits, often leaping in front of their Clanmates to take blows that, on a smaller cat, would put them down and out.

Idk if this was asked before but was there any reason you changed the name to Rosy instead of Princess? Story or just personal preference?

She was named Rosy because that's what her cat name is. Kittypets have two names: the name their human calls them and the name they call themselves. A cat is not going to know what an "Oliver" or "Hattie" is, nor would they be able to translate it properly into feline-speak, even if they know the sound that a human uses to call them home. They need a separate name entirely to talk with their fellows.

Cats generally name their kits or themselves based on their appearance - for example, Onion is named after a white plant, Rusty was named for his rust-colored fur, etc. Kittypets have a wide variety of options, since they're exposed to a lot more stuff and have names for those things, though they don't see a lot of nature-related things. The Clans follow the structure of appearance-prefixes, but they're pretty much relegated to colors, patterns and things they see in their territories.

Any more lore we can get on your fanclans? Like their cultures? Love the names and I already like the characters posted so far.

Ah tbh I’ve still got a lot of specifics I need to write down and refine first, I’ve got all their general cultures/attitudes . I’d also like to do little info posts for each clan with visuals and stuff, Oceanclan’s is currently in the works. I can give you some fun facts though that I’ll elaborate on later:

The clans worship a set of four deities who take the forms of large carnivores: A lynx, a wolf, a bear, and a sea lion. Each god is a patron god of one of the clans.

The first clan cat and leader was a cat named Stone (later Stonestar). She made a deal with a crafty lynx that led her to receive her nine lives.

Stoneclan cats enjoy sneaking into human campgrounds and stealing food and supplies.

I’ve also retconned Stoneclan so it now has two deputies, one for each of its two camps.

Iceclan does not have separate dens (other than an infirmary), the denizens all sleep in a big pile.

During the summer, Oceanclan divers enjoy taking trips south for fishing excursions that often last several days. Similarly, Brookclan cats will travel northeast during salmon run season in order to fish at Bear Lake.

Couriers may sometimes carry satchels for transporting items to other clans. These are often crafted/adapted from human bags by Stoneclan cats.

Multiple opinions on characters can exist and should actually I love especially when one person has MANY takes on a character!!! Variety is fun and putting a character into a little box just isn’t!!!

Like the main one is mothwing in my mind (when is she not on my mind). She’s big and fluffy, tiny and fat, golden, brown, color point- there’s so many interpretations just designs wise that are super fun!!!! But also character wise is even cooler. Make her angry or sad or whatever! Multiple interpretations of one character make me crazy in the best way possible.

My mate and daughters are doomed to death because of you!” Their voice pitched higher the more they spoke, until 🔥’s ears had to pin flat to their skull in an attempt to protect their aching ear drums from the hysterical screeching. “My son! Dead in the snows! Because of you!”

🔥’s body curled in on itself, shaking wildly while attempting to become as small as possible, projecting submission in some desperate attempt to appease the infuriated mother standing over them. “I didn’t-! Please, I-I just wanted to take 🫧 t-to have fun, I didn’t-! I thought we were safe, I thought-!”

Pain exploded over one side of their face, effectively stealing their voice.

What was Piketooth and Shimmerpelt’s relationship like?

First note: it wasn't clear until after we had started Embers that Piketooth was meant to survive into ITW. Due to this, in our rewrite Piketooth died a few moons before chapter one.

But on to the question! Piketooth worshipped Shimmerpelt, but in turn she was entranced with him. Some of the younger cats (Mistyfoot especially) saw ShimmerPike as the peak of romance. Shimmerpelt was mildly disappointed at first when neither of their kits ended up with his teeth, but that couldn't last long with how much they both adored them.

That said, Piketooth wasn't as involved a father as he could have been. It was incidental - Piketooth wanted to make sure his kits knew that their whole Clan was there to support them, and that they could go to any cat for help, but that in turn made it seem to their kits that he himself didn't want to be the one to help them.

like does bluestar kidnap/have her clanmates kidnap more kits for thunderclan? we'll have to see :) but her and redtail's kidnapping of firekit and eaglekit (princess) was like. they weren't out looking for kits per se, just for signs of spottedleaf's prophecy, and they found it in the form of firekit so they took him. eaglekit (and the others, if they had survived) was kind of just an added bonus, because of the mass kit death thunderclan had suffered recently

and yeah willowpelt does raise firekit and eaglekit alongside graykit, despite knowing that they were stolen
