The little Stowaway Wanderer

A/N. I will.be posting the reader version of this piece shortly. The character in this story is the same character that the series Little Gardener's Pirate Odyssey presents; it is not a different AU, just the character visiting a different one piece much later.

Sorry for making you guys wait! I kinda let my self sleep till really late, but here you go!

Once again, the young girl had found herself in an unknown and most likely inconvenient place to arrive in this new world if the storage boxes piled in the small room and the sound of waves heard nearby was anything to go by. However, there was no chaos going on that the small girl could see, unlike previous universes, so that small detail reassured her.

That thought and reassurance were swiftly shut down as chaos arrived in the form of two brawling men knocking into the stack of boxes right behind her, a squeal escaping her at their sudden entrance and collision, jumping away just as the boxes crashed down.

The two men instantly stop their antics as the childish scream echoes in the ship’s storage room.

“What was that?” questions Thatch

“It sounded like a kid?” Ace said, looking around and spotting a small child rapidly getting up from the ground; he stared at her for a few seconds before grinning.

“Oyaji is gonna be ecstatic; we’ve got ourselves a small stowaway!”

The child is quick to run away from the two Commanders, too spooked by the clash to stop at the call of the two pirates.

You see a large hand wrap around the bottom of the storage box you were hiding in and being slowly lifted.

Thatch lifts the box above his head so the kid is at face level.

When she makes eye contact with Thatch, she sees a bright, friendly, goofy smile.

“Heeey! Whatcha doing down there?” He says with glee, a big grin across his face, the corner of his eyes crinkling, and he raises his eyebrows, seeming to be having a good time

The five-year-old girl screeches, startling Thatch and causing him to lose hold of the box, dropping It to the ground; a whine escapes the girl as she falls along with the box

She backs away until her back hits a wall, completely trapped. Nowhere left to go, she waits in fear, her mind racing.

“Hey, Hey, we don’t mean no harm! We just had a bad beginning; we didn’t mean to crash into you like that. I’m sorry we must have frightened you, right?”

He takes one long, slow step to stand over her. He is much taller than most people and looks down at her as he squats down to her level.

She looks up a him, taking in his words and nodding slowly.

Ace approaches her, squatting next to Thatch to stare at her.

Blenheim walks through a door into the storage room.

“Hey, I heard a noise, everything all right here?”. Blenheim asks with a slightly concerned look on his face. He is about to speak again when he sees the small girl cowering on the floor. “

“Who is this?” He asks gruffly, walking closer to the girl

“We found a Stowaway”

From Alexandra’s shadow, a cat-like entity seems to materialize, a body made of shadows with a Maine-coon appearance, Antlers in between his ears, frontal hooves, and lateral paws, and two tails swaying dangerously behind him, ready to protect Alexandra.

“Back away from her,” Rogue growls

Thatch raises his hands in surrender, backing away from Alexandra. He still has a cheerful grin as he stands back up.

He appears surprised by this shadow cat entity, looking at it with a curious grin. He looks between Alexandra and Rogue, waiting to see what will happen next.

“Don’t touch her,” he snarls at the three men who remain in front of the five-year-old.

Blenheim takes a deep breath, seemingly at the end of his patience.

“All I did was walk in, and you yell at Me?” He says, trying to stay calm. His expression changes to a stern look as if to say, ‘I have no problem getting violent; try me.’

“Listen up. I am a commander on this ship, and it is My job to protect the the ship and the people in it. Do you have a problem with that?” He asks, his voice sounding calm, but his stare is fierce and intimidating

“Don’t care who you are. I’m not letting anyone lay a hand on her,” he hisses, standing in front of Alexandra protectively.

Blenheim expression changes to one of bewilderment, his eyes widening. He looks at Rogue again, looking him up and down, seemingly looking for any sign of weakness.

“I don’t know who you think you are, but you’re about to learn a lesson you’ll never forget. You have two seconds to leave this ship before I get violent.” He growls at Rogue, waiting for a response

“Hey, now I’m sure we can talk this out!” Ace cuts in

Alexandra squeaks, running to take hold of Rogue and making a run for it, hiding deeper in the storage area with her familiar

Thatch Blenheim and Ace turn to look at Alexandra and Rogue in astonishment.

Thatch frowns as he sees the girl run off. He glances back to Blenheim.

“We’ll handle it!” He exclaims as He leans forward and makes a little gesture with his hands

Ace takes one last look at Rogue and Alexandra before looking at Thatch, making a chasing motion with his hands as he takes off after them.

Ace’s footsteps shake the storage area as he takes off after them. Thatch follows up behind, still with a big grin on his face.

Little Gardener's Pirate Odyssey Chapter 2

A/N: Here we go, back uploads for my very first published works, im kinda nervous about what you guys think. Im starting with really short chapters for now to kinda get a feel for it first.

Chapter 1, Chapter 3

The two of them spent a while in that position; Sanji wanted to calm down the child completely before he went on to ask any questions. Viridi lying on Rogue’s head as the both of them sat there observing the child and the young man.

“Okay, now, tell me why you have to hide in cabinets; no lady should be hiding much less in such a place and even less a. little lady such as you,” He puts one hand on her chin, lifting her head to look at him.

“Just be honest, I won’t be mad.” He tries to look understanding and as comforting as possible for her

“I’m sorry, Mister Sanji!” she cries, eyes turning from a vivid green to a deep blue.

Sanji’s eyes widen at the sudden color change but he decides not to comment on it immediately, making a mental note to ask her later.

“I got here with Viridi and Rogue, but then everyone was fighting; all the chefs were punching and kicking people, and I got scared,” she exclaims

Sanji groans, holding the bridge of his nose at her words.

“I’m sorry about that little lady, the chefs here are a bunch of dimwits; I’m sure they meant no harm towards you. They just get riled up easily and resort to beating unruly customers; their everyday banter is louder and more aggressive than others.

“But I guess that’s one of the best scenarios compared to what I imagined,” he mutters.

He clears his throat.

“I’m sorry if they spooked you; you then hid in a cabinet in the kitchen, I get that, but why a cabinet, much less a cabinet in the kitchen?” he questions

Alexandra fidgets with her fingers, small sniffles escaping her eyes, now switching to a pink color.

“I ran, and that was the first hiding spot I saw,” she said as her tail swayed nervously behind her.

Sanji nods and looks down at her.

“Okay, then why the crying? What made you cry? Did someone hurt you or threaten you?” He inquires

“Or was it just because of the fighting?” He shifts Alexandra on his lap so he can look her in the eyes.

“I got scared; I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be; you didn’t do anything wrong.” He puts one hand on her shoulder, gently rubbing it to add to the comforting factor.

“Are you feeling any better now?” He shifts Alexandra back on his lap to hold her closer to him.

She nods slowly

“Let’s just relax here for a while, okay?” Sanji gently holds Alexandra close, then leans down and kisses her head.

She nods

“Can… Can I show you something?”

Sanji stares down into Alexandra’s eyes and nods.

“Of course, what is it?” He holds Alexandra close and waits patiently for her to show him.

She moves her hands in a particular motion as her eyes start glowing, and from her hands, she grows a small flower, which she then hands to Sanji.

“A poppy for Mister Sanji,” she sniffles, drying her leftover tears.

“A poppy?” Sanji’s eyes widen as the flower appears in his hands

Thank you, Little Lady; guess I should call you Little Gardener from now on.” He looks at it closely

“Where did you learn to do that?” He glances up at Alexandra, still shocked, and he holds the flower by her stem, carefully examining the flower.

“I could do it since I was very small, growing all types of plants.”

That’s incredible. So you could grow a tree, too?” He sounds surprised and curious, “Or a rose?” He watches Alexandra closely, examining the flower and gently spinning it in his hands. He holds a gentle grip on the flower, careful not to damage or squish it.

“Why are you so curious?” Rogue growls, jumpin’ into the conversation

“Rogu-“Viridi starts to scold Rogue but is interrupted by him.

“No! What if he takes advantage of her?! Wouldn’t be the first time.”

Viridi stays silent at this.

Sanji raises his eyebrow, looking between Rogue and Alexandra,

“Take advantage? In what way?” he questions, his tone soft and gentle so as not to startle Alexandra.

“And who would do something like that?” He pauses, staring closely at Rogue and Alexandra, waiting for an explanation.

Alexandra shrugs

“Some people are mean,” she mumbles.

Rogue and Viridi glance at each other

“Mhm,” Sanji starts to massage Alexandra’s back to try and put her more at ease,. . “Some people are mean, but not everyone.” He glances up at Rogue and Viridi and stares at them a little longer, hoping for one of them to explain the meaning of the child’s cryptic statements.

“We can talk about this later; for now, you have my trust. I don’t sense any ill intent from you,” Viridi smiles nervously.

Sanji nods

“Okay, we can talk about this later.” He sets the flower down on his lap, holding Alexandra close to him,

“I’m glad you trust me.” He gives the kid a kind smile as he rubs her back gently and softly.

“Are you feeling any better?”

She nods

“Thank you”

“You’re welcome,” Sanji says gently,

“I know we just met, so it can be a bit unnerving, but I’m just trying to do what I can to help you be safe, okay?” He says, still rubbing her back to provide more comfort for the both of them.

“I’d never want to hurt you.”

The scare she had received earlier had drained her, putting on top of Sanji’s comforting caresses, lulling the small wolf child to sleep.

Sanji looks down at the sleeping Alexandra in his lap and sighs.

“She’s exhausted.” He gently rubs Alexandra’s back, hoping she’ll sleep as he does and gets a good night’s rest. He looks around him, glancing at Viridi and Rogue.

Viridi gently flutters over Alexandra, giving her small caresses and smiling as the young girl leans into the touch once the fairy pets her ears.

“I’m sure you have lots of questions, right?” She says to Sanji, not taking her eyes off the young girl.

Here we go, in the next chapter it's gonna center quite a lot around the familiars, sanji and Alexandra's backstory

Little Gardener's Pirate Odyssey Chapter 1

Female child!oc x reader!

A/N I have been doing drabbles and writings for a long while and even longer character and world-building, but this is the first time I have gone out and published them, so let me know what you guys think; these are the results of maladaptive daydreaming

Chapter 2, Chapter 3

The sounds of cooking rang through the Baratie kitchen, the scent of freshly baked bread, the sizzle of fried meat, the mouth-watering aroma of stew, and the inevitable sound of another fight brewing among the kitchen staff, the shouting overriding the muffle sobs coming from one of the cabinets.

In the cabinet, a small wolf-hybrid child found herself cowering, having just arrived in this universe with her familiars, and the first thing to greet her was the brawling and shouting on the dining floor, which led her to her current dilemma, hiding in a cabinet surrounded by brawling chefs.

Alexandra could hear the cooks quarreling among themselves; she glanced at her familiars teary-eyed, unsure what to do.

"It's okay, sweetpea. I'm sure it will settle down eventually, and then we can sneak out," A small fairy softly says, caressing the young child. Alexandra's other familiar, Rogue, offers no comforting words, attention glued to the cabinet doors for any incoming danger. A sudden slam above her causes her to shriek, and the kitchen falls quiet. Alexandra's eyes widen at the sound of approaching footseps as she grabs Rogue and quickly scoots into the cabinet as far as she can.

Light flows into the dark cabinet as a blond young man slowly opens the door. The young man's eyes widen, the cigarette in his mouth falling to the floor. The sobs of the girl snap him from his shock as he gently approaches her.

"Hey there, little lady, don't be scared; what are you doing there?" A threatening hiss from Rogue causes Sanji to still; he raises an eyebrow, a slight twitch in his frown as he hears him hiss, now standing between him and the young child.

"Im sorry, what's that?" he asks the girl.

"Is that your pet?" He tilts his head, unsure what to think of Rogue hissing at him.

"Get your hands away from her; I won't let you hurt her," a deep voice growls from the shadow entity.

"Look, I'm trying to get her out so I can actually help her." He keeps his hands on the floor and doesn't move close to Rogue.

"I know how she's feeling. She's scared, confused, and doesn't know what to do." He keeps his voice calm and measured,

"And I'm trying to help. Don't you think coming out to talk with me would be better so I can at least try to help her? Do you have a better idea?"

"Rogue, he doesn't mean any harm. Please give him a chance; we can step in if anything happens," Viridi states.

"Please don't hurt him," the four-year-old whimpers

"I'm sorry"

His attention was quickly directed back to Alexandra at this.

Hey, it's okay. I'm not here to hurt you or that little creature. What's your name, little lady?"

"Alexandra," she manages to get out between sobs.

"Where are your Parents, Alexandra?

"I don't have parents," she sniffles.

Sanji frowns at the information.

'Poor thing must be terrified,' He thinks, watching how the small girl makes no move to get out from the far corner. He tries to move closer to the girl but sills as she scoots back even more, her ears flattening against her head and her tail wrapping around herself. He sighs as he sits in front of the cabinet to look less menacing.

Viridi and Rogue both watch the scene unfold, virii whispering comforting words to the girl and Rogue sitting in her lap, providing her silent comfort.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, there was so much noise and people started fighting and I got scared; Im sorry," her words barely decipherable between her cries.

"Hey, hey, its okay, no need for apologies. You didn't do anything wrong; I'm Sanji. Would you like to get out of that dark corner? he says, gently reaching her hand out towards her

She stares at his hand, sniffling.

"I want to help you, okay? But I need you to come out of there; I can take you somewhere you'll be safe, alright? Will you come out and talk to me?" His voice is gentle, patient, and kind; his friendly smile is reassuring

She slowly nods her head, grabbing his hand hesitantly. He gently pulls her out of the cabinet and picks her up. She looks around and shrieks at the sight of all the chefs standing there looking at her and Sanji. Sanji notices and turns around with a scowl.

"Don't you guys have anything more important to do? We have a full restaurant. How about you worry about yourselves and take care of the customers?" he growls. Reactions from the kitchen vary from turning around, ashamed at being caught, to rolling eyes to grumbles, but eventually, the chefs fall back into their routine as Zeff, who was among them, turns around and starts screaming at them as well.

"Lil eggplant, take that one upstairs and help her settle in," Zeff grumbles, turning around to face Sanji.

"I was already going to, old fart, lay off' he mutters, walking upstairs with the trembling girl in his hands. Viridi and Rogue trailing behind them.

"You're safe now; it's just us now, little Lady; it's okay," he reassures her. Alexandra lifts her head her sensitive ears registering that they were now far away from the hustle and bustle of the kitchen.

"Im sorry," she whispers, sobs still evident in her body

"Hey, it's okay, no one is mad a you; you are safe here," he reassures her as he sits down, placing her on his lap and bouncing her.

She lets a small teary giggle, Her. white eyes changing to a vivid and happy green.

With the soft and reassuring voice of Sanji, Alexandra's mood slowly lifts, and her sobs recede to slow sniffles as she looks up at Sanji with a content sigh, realizing she is safe with him.

Little Gardener's Pirate Odyssey Chapter 3

A/n: Chapter three, here we go! It is at this point that now I am overthinking and overanalyzing every single sentence cause I'm scared it will ruin the flow of the characters and the overall plot but we cooking homies

Chapter 1 , Chapter 2

“I do,” Sanji nods,

“I’m guessing she’s had a rough life so far?” He watches as Viridi caresses Alexandra, a soft expression appearing on Sanji’s face as he watches the interaction.

“She has,” Viridi sighs.

“I will answer all the questions you may have, as long as you respect our decision to skip questions if we feel they are too personal or if it may put her in danger.”

Sanji nods his head understandingly, pulling out a cigarette and lighting it.

“Sounds fair enough,” he says, glancing at the fairy as he slowly exhaled the smoke in a thin wisp.

“Are you two okay with me asking questions now?”

“Make it quick,” Rogue grumbles.

“Don’t mind him; he just wants what’s best for Alexandra, though he goes about it the wrong way,”

“Okay,” Sanji says with a slight chuckle.

“So, where did you guys come from? North Blue? She mentioned she got those powers when she was young. Did she eat a devil fruit?”

“We are not from a round here, nor are we familiar with names or geography of the place, so I’m not sure what is ‘North Blue’, but we came from really far, im also not sure what a ‘devil fruit’ is but no, she did not get powers from eating something”

“That’s a really long story, and it gets quite grim. Are you ready for that?” she adds.

“I’m ready.” He sighs, realizing the story he’s about to hear probably isn’t a pleasant one, but he nods his head anyway

“We are not from around here; all three of us are from a different world, you remember how Alexandra got scared once we got here?”

“Yeah, you said people were fighting near her, and she got scared and ran and ended up hiding in the cabinet.”

“Well, when we ‘jump’ from world to world, we really don’t have any control as to where we end up; we just kind of follow along wherever it takes us. Alexandra loves adventures, so we just go along with it; she just didn’t expect the first thing to see to be fighting and roughhousing.”

“Huh, I see; so you can jump to different worlds at will?”

“Yes, Rogue and I have been given that power by Alexandra’s big sister.”

“Older sister?” He glances up at Viridi, raising an eyebrow.

“Where is this older sister now? Why wasn’t she with you guys?”

“Well, she is a sworn sister just like the rest of her siblings, but to go into that, we should start by the beginning, from where Alexandra was born.”

“Okay,” he says, putting the cigarette in his mouth and inhaling deeply.

“All three of us came from a world named Kénbori; it was a world filled with magic. Alexandra was from a village in it called Tihayo; Alexandra’s parents and the rest of the Tihayo village served as guardians to Kénbori, always aiding those who called for them with their powers as the villagewas the home of a unique race, even amongst all the magical creatures that filled Kenbori, shapeshifters were seen as powerful guardians deities guided by Village heads who not only possessed the ability to transform their bodies into animals but also had the affinity to a specific element, which would change from head to head.”

Sanji’s hums, brow furrowing at the new information,

“And Alexandra was a shapeshifter?”

He receives a nod from the fairy at his inquiry.

“At the time of the tragedy, the village heads at the time were Alexandra’s parents. Esther, an owl hybrid with an affinity to poison, and Vanny, a wolf hybrid with an affinity to sound. As was tradition, Alexandra was expected to be the next village head. Still, there was one problem, despite Alexandra inheriting her father’s hybrid features and what seemed like an incredible sense of hearing, no special affinity had seemed to develop. To make matters worse, she also seemed unable to shift.”

Sanji frowns, having a bad feeling about where their story is headed.

“This didn’t sit well with some of Kénborians, especially ones in a higher power such as Kings and Religious heads.”

“They couldn’t accept a girl who didn’t have immense powers to protect their sorry asses, even though the Henkan Clan had protected their pathetic life and the life of their ancestors for thousands of years,” Rogue snarls.

“Shapeshifters are also known for their immense, almost immortal-like lifespans, so Esther and Vinny had indeed protected those people for thousands of years,” Viridi adds to Rogue’s statement.

“Huh,” Sanji’s frown deepens.

“What did they do?”

“A shapeshifter’s powers develop as soon as they are born, so it was immediately evident that Alexandra was different. The higher powers didn’t take kindly to this; we didn’t know it then, but those in power had come together in secret meetings for years to try to summon something more dangerous and powerful to protect them instead of Alexandra….and they succeeded” she says, a bitter undertone in her voice.

“I still remember that day; the stars looked as if they were falling from the sky, and from one of them came what the higher powers had been trying to summon, a dark entity, one who relished in devastation and pain. They had hoped that the entity would be indebted to them for freeing him from his Starry prison,” Viridi said, glancing at Sanji.

“They were wrong;Jaime had no intentions of ever being under anyone’s rule, regardless if all their rituals were the ones who freed him; he obliterated them,” Rogue states.

Sanji’s head snaps up in surprise as he looks at Rogue,

“He killed them?”

Viridi nods

“I heard it from neighboring kingdoms; Jaime easily took over Kénbori slowly. He was able to bring immense pain with a single glance, and he did so with glee, happily torturing any poor soul that stood in his way. Even though the higher Kénborians were the ones who brought this upon Kénbori, Vanny, and Esther couldn’t turn a blind eye to the innocent Kénborians who didn’t ask for this, nor could they watch as the world was consumed with death. But they also knew it was a losing battle; to Ensure Alexandra’s survival, they used an otherwordly power to open a portal to a different world away from Jaime and sent us with her.”

“We were residents of Tihayo, and we were looked down upon because of our races, but Alexandra stumbled upon us; despite her being a toddler, she still had that innate want to help, and she introduced us to her parents, who immediately took us in and treated us with nothing but kindness So we agreed to protect Alexandra and help her escape, but Jaime was quick. We weren’t able to escape completely unscathed. “

Viridi flutters next to Alexandra’s knee and gently moves her skirt to reveal a big scar just below her knee; it seemed as if something had cut her open previously.

“He managed to injure her, but her parents stopped him from killing her and held him back; the only thing we could do was to run through the portal with little Alexandra and watch as the portal closed behind us with the Henkans fighting Jaime to protect her daughter, we had to watch as Jaime killed them, laughing in glee while doing it.

Sanji looks down at the scar as Viridi talks, looking at it with a sense of horror, and then he glances up at Viridi, a bit shaken by the new information. He looks back at Alexandra in his lap, still peaceful and quiet.

“We raised little Alexandra for over 50 years alone, until we stumbled upon Miyu, a moon goddess. Fate works in weird ways because we found out that her magic was the ‘otherworldly’ power that had saved us and allowed us to escape through that portal in the first place. Alexandra has an innate power to connect to people, so it wasn’t before long before they had become sworn sisters. Years after the Faens family grew and with Miyu’s power, they created a whole new dimension, a home where they could be safe.”

“The brat loves exploring, so she asked Miyu to bless us with the power to create portals to different worlds. She agreed, but seeing as it is only a fraction of her power, we don’t have much control over it, so we just let us take it wherever we end up. Thus how we are able to go from world to world ourselves and how we are here. Miyu and the other Faens siblings trust the brat to us to keep her safe, as they should, knowing no amount of convincing will keep her still,” Rogue finishes.

Sanji looks up at Rogue and Viridi with a sad look still clear on his face. But deep down, he was glad that despite everything, it seemed that Alexandra’s parents had gone through so much pain and trouble to protect and raise their daughter and had people by her to help her through the cataclysm.

Viridi gives him a tight smile.

“I did warn you it was quite a long story.”

“Yeah, you definitely weren’t wrong,” he sighs, chuckling dryly,

“You said earlier you would answer all of my questions, right?”

“Yes, I did. Do you still have any questions?”

“Hm, I think I just have one for now,”.

That was a lot of background, but I feel like it will set up the mood for the future, and it helps Sanji connect with her more. I think next chapter is gonna have wholesome fatherly sanji in action 👀
