Something fanon gets wrong

Dick Grayson is genuinely one of the greatest fighters in all of DC.

I know people have trouble believing this for some reason but a man who has defeated every single one of his enemies, other people’s enemies, and has consistently come out on top should have his abilities talked about a bit more because they’re amazing.

Let's start small to big. Firstly Donna talks about Nightwing's abilities.

When I read this I was confused by what she meant. Prowess means skill or expertise and that makes sense but Dick has a lot of power behind him though...

And then I realized she meant metaphysical power.

Dick isn't a magician. He can't run at supersonic speeds, throw buildings, speak to animals, communicate with the dark, fly above the clouds, bounce bullets off his chest (Oh, wait. He can do it off his ass instead never mind), turn into animals, or other amazing abilities. But his skill is so high that he is easily able to keep up with people who can.

M'gann, the white martian with extraordinary capabilities, tells Dick, "You are just a human, with no superpowers, yet you have consistently excelled throughout your career, despite being surrounded by godlike beings."

This is incredible.

We see Dick leading teams of superheroes and metas all the time and we take it for granted but we never acknowledge the immense power and skill he must have for him to be able to do this.

Repeatedly. Time after time. He outsmarts both his human allies and outfights his meta ones.

One of Dick’s greatest OP moments is when he takes down the entire Titans team -Gar, Raven, Donna, and Jason too when he hung around with them- single handedly. And when Jason put a gun to the back of his head in supposed victory, Dick opened his hand to let the golden bullets fall, gleaming in the light with the coldest line, “with these bullets?”

We all know how amazing Bruce is, but Dick is on Bruce's level.

No?

Okay, here's the evidence.

Dick has fought Azael in a sword fight to a standstill when Azael has beaten Bruce separately and Tim and Jason combined.

He has defeated Ra's in a sword fight and Ra's is one of the greatest swordsmen.

Sometimes he doesn't even need a sword to defeat a skilled swordsman.

He's a League of Assassins member and we all know that anyone from the League of Assassins is never just good. They're excellent. The entire fight Dick is looking for Blockbuster and he's so capable and good at fighting the entire scene was like watching Thanos flick Captain America away vibes. He's not even looking at him when he smashes his foot into Shrike's face!

Most importantly, he has defeated Deathstroke

The greatest thing about Dick is he is able to defeat Slade at the peak of Slade's abilities. Slade doesn't need to be weakened for Dick to win.

Here's where people has some hesitance accepting Dick's abilities.

"Bruce has defeated Slade but Dick has never been able to!"

He literally has in Dark Crisis but I'll give you the lead up.

Dick can easily disarm Slade.

He can predict Slade's moves ahead of time and properly counteract them.

He can go toe to toe with him and in one comic, they dance down a hallway, fighting, neither able to get the upper hand. The mercenary meta, considered by the US Government to be 1 of 2 greatest assassins (the other being Katana) isn't able to pin down and defeat a 20 year old despite his enhancements.

I left out the scene where Dick twisting Deathstroke's arm and smashing his face into a bedroom mirror despite being complete weaponless and in his civilian identity. No protection and no support. But it's another example of how Dick's poweress is much greater than people expect of him.

Of course there are panels where Dick has been defeated by Slade but Dick isn't 17/18 anymore. He isn't learning to fight without Batman hovering over his side.

Also there is a panel everyone references to when talking about Nigthwing losing to Deathstroke. This one.

sure. okay. whatever. BUT WHY WON'T YOU SHOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT COWARDS?!?

THEY DANCE-FIGHT LIKE THEY'RE ENEMIES IN A BALLROOM ON OPPOSING SIDES BUT CAN'T AFFORD TO LET ANYONE FIND OUT.

THIS IS SOME HIGH LEVEL JAMES BOND-RED NOTICE-MISSION IMPOSSIBLE- TYPE SHIT.

"Close the hold, you morons! Close the--Guuk!"

That's Slade talking by the way. To his allies. Who do you think made him "GUUK!"?

And here they were evenly matched.

But Slade had to pull out bombs he had been saving for when other people came in order to defeat dICK AND HE STILL LOST BECAUSE DICK BESTED HIM.

Yup. Dick is just that good.

Nightwing defeated Bane

Before you go into saying something like "it was a holographic construction." What the fuck difference does that make? Does a holographic construction alter the strength used by the enemy, change their fighting style, phase through when fighting, act dumber than the real deal? No, right? The fact is Dick broke Bane's back the exact same manner that Bane broke Batman's. All those scenes of Bane punching Nightwing around? Let me remind you that the guy snuck up on Dick. The second time Dick underestimated Bane's powers before getting ready to put in real effort before Batman interfered to take Bane for himself.

All those amazing scenes of him defeating enemies that we've scoffed at recently? They're just a continuation of what already is written. It's not new or unbelievable, it's expected.

Here's my final point. Dick has defeated all of the Justice League's enemies in one go.

This is Batman/Superman comic where Kara gets infected so Dick as Batman sends her to the medbay while he tears down the Watchtower to save her. As in every single defense mechanism the Watchtower has, he demolishes it with his pure skill and abilities. Furthermore, the Watchtower defenses were enhanced by cyborg Superman to be lethal. To kill on sight.

Just. Phenomenal.

He did it! He defeated all of them and made it to the electronic controls he was aiming for.

Another thing I want to point is Dick's strength is greater than what people assume it to be.

He's the world's greatest acrobrat and has a build fitting of that but the strength he packs in his body is equal to that of a meta. Maybe it's because of how he only fights with metas and has teammates that are all metas but he has raised his striking power to equal that.

He shatters cyborg superman in one blow.

He can handle blows from meta humans in a way most others can't which suggests to me that he must've done some kind of training or have maybe increased pain tolerance or have the ability to backseat the pain so it won't affect his fighting. How many can take a hit and rise up the next second?

He's not metahuman. Batman must've done several tests because he also was amazed by robin Dick's poweress lol but really Dick is just extraordinary. Give him any enemy and he will garaunteed defeat them without using cheap tricks or surprise moves which is why he is one of the greatest. The only time people have gotten an upperhand on him is when he has been emotionally weakened. Emotionally. Imagine the absolute monster he would be if he controlled his emotions like Batman.

But I would never want him to though because his emotions are the reason why he's the light of DC.

Rating hug hcs for my favorite rogues

Mr. Freeze 2/10. Though there are some exceptions, most versions of Freeze are fairly untouchable if you don't want hypothermia. Plus the cryo suit would be uncomfortable to hug. The two points are for the fact that Mr. Freeze is really sweet and would genuinely love to hug you back, he just kinda...can't.

Mad Hatter 6/10 but depends on if you like being squeezed, because Jervis is absolutely going to do that. He'll make you feel loved whatever it takes! (Plus he's touch starved and desperately craves affection)

Two Face Around the 6.5/10-9/10 range depending on who's fronting and what you prefer. Harvey's embrace is soft yet protective, while Two Face will literally just squeeze you. They are both really good at comfort and don't mind at all if you'd like to touch their scars or stroke their hair.

Bane 7/10 he loves hugs but sometimes he can be a bit aggressive. He's very understanding though and wants to comfort you the best he can.

Scarecrow 8.5/10. Jon was never really shown affection in his life at all, especially physical affection. He is very awkward and will just kinda stand there, you might even literally have to tell him he's allowed to hug you back. His hugs are very soft and gentle.

Riddler 9/10, he is so sweet and even though he may be awkward, his hugs are soft and loving, perfect for comfort.

Penguin 11/10 this man is built for hugs. He may be a mob boss but he's damn good at comforting people, and he actually likes being used as a pillow. He will let you hold him as long as you want, and he has super soft hair if you'd like to touch it.

All of Batman's enemies know his secret identity

Personal headcanon of mine. They all know, or st least suspect. They just have their own reasons for not sharing or acting on the info.

Two-Face: We were friends for years. Just because we're on different sides now doesn't mean I don't respect him.

Riddler: What good is a riddle if everyone knows the answer?

Bane: The mask is all that matters. Not the person wearing it.

Harley Quinn: You know I'm a psychiatrist, right? There's only like two dudes in town who fit the profile, and he adopted one of 'em. I just like t' play dumb. It's kinda my whole bit.

Joker: I can't know! It'd ruin the punchline.

Penguin: Are you kidding? Have you SEEN how much Bruce Wayne drops at my casino when he's investigating? A few bat-bugs under the roulette table are just cost of business.

Scarecrow: I'm scared of the answer.

Hugo Strange: Bruce Wayne isn't Batman! *swoops cape* I am Batman!

Bane x Fem reader

Y/n stood on the roof of city hall, she watched as the raiders and pillagers ransacked nearby buildings. They dragged people from their homes, severely harmed them or even killed them and took whatever they owned.

Y/n heard heals clicking up behind her, she recognized the footsteps. She didn't even bother to move as Talia came up, and stopped beside her.

"Bane is doing this for my father." She said.

Y/n scoffed, "Your father? He can suck my big toe. He excommunicated Bane because all he could see was a monster, when the true monster was him."

"You didn't know my father."

"Neither did you. And you didn't know Bruce either, but you had no problem hopping into the sack with him."

Talia turned to her, she sneered and looked Y/n up and down.

"You think Bane cares for you?" She asked. "You're just part of the plan, just like Daggett. When he no longer needs you, you'll meet the same fate."

Y/n smiled, stepping really close.

"You haven't got a clue what's going on here, do you Ms. Miranda Tate? Well I can assure you, if one of us is to fall...it's not gonna be me."

With that, Y/n turned on her heal and headed back inside. She was passing a room when she was halted.

"Y/n." Bane's voice called.

She backed up and made her way into the room. Y/n stopped in front of Bane, clasping her hands together behind her back.

"This is Dr. Crane." He said, motioning to the person behind her.

She closed her eyes in annoyance, her and Johnathan Crane have had their dealings, and said dealings have left her despising him.

Y/n turned towards the man, walking up to him and as he was about to go for a hand shake, she landed a hard punch to his nose.

"That was for using your fear gas on me, fuckin prick." She growled.

Going for the door, she smiled at Bane.

"We've met."

Y/n sat in her makeshift bed, her thoughts clouded over with worries of Bruce. She cracked her knuckles, attempting to relieve some tension but failed. Heavy boots entered the room, she looked up to see Bane taking off his coat and throwing it onto the desk. He slowly made his way over to her, taking a seat next to her and rubbing gentle circles against her back.

"Why do we need Talia?" She asked.

"She plays a very important part in our plan, she's vital to the mission. Without her we wouldn't have been able to locate the bomb."

Y/n's gaze dropped the floor, he could feel she was upset and irritated.

"Tell me." He whispered.

"Gotham's my home, it'll hurt to see it go. And Talia is a mouthy bitch, she's not the same little girl you saved, Bane. She's arrogant, rude, thinks she's the Queen of Sheba, and expects me to fallow her every fuckin word! No! I'm not gonna stand for this, she may have fooled Bruce, but I'm not gonna let her take control of my hands and bury me six feet deep! Sorry, but it's not happening."

Bane chuckled, he loved it when Y/n ranted. She got all worked up over such small things, he knew she didn't like being ordered around by anyone else, but it's the way it was right now.

There was a silence between them for a few seconds before Y/n broke it.

"Bruce is gonna get out."

"It's impossible, he can't."

Y/n shrugged, looking up at him.

"You don't know Bruce like I do."

"Exile or death!?" Crane yelled, his voice echoing though city hall.

"Crane." Gordon called. "If you think we're going out onto that ice willingly, you have another thing coming."

"Death then."

"Looks that way."

"Very well! Death, by exile!"

Y/n was about to march off and intervene, until Bane grabbed her arm and held her back, without looking up from what he was doing.

His men started leading Jim Gordon and the rest of the cops outside, when Bane finally looked up and motioned towards Talia, who was in the small crowd of cops.

"Bring her to me." He said.

Y/n watched as they did as he said, Bane and Talia left the room, leaving Y/n steaming out the ears. She went outside and stood out front, daring for someone to shoot her. At this point, the bullet would probably bounce off or shatter on impact. Y/n was so pissed she felt like she was made of titanium.

A sudden light on the bridge caught her eye, she squinted, focusing on it. Her eyes widened in realization, it was a bat symbol.

Y/n ran inside, busting into the office Bane and Talia were in. She waltzed up and pointed out the window.

"Did I not tell you? I swear I'm fuckin psychic or something cuz that shit was on point."

Bane looked to where she was pointing, he lowered his brows and stared for a moment.

"Impossible. Talia, stay here. He'll come for you."

He tapped Y/n's shoulder and motioned for her to fallow him out of the room. They went back downstairs and out the front door, he leaned against one of the pillars and glanced over at the Bat symbol again.

"What side are you on?" He asked.

Y/n gave him a look that said "really?"

"I care for Bruce, but I fallow you. I'm not here because of Ra's Al Ghul, I'm here because of you."

Her gaze looked to the finally rising sun.

"I love you, Bane. I'm with you until the end."

Just as Y/n expected, Bruce had rallied the cops of Gotham. Now there was a full on battle happening outside, and what was she doing? Hiding in city hall because Bane told her to stay put? Was it because he knew she couldn't bring herself to hurt the police, nor his men?

Y/n stood in the corner of the main room of city hall, pistol in her grip. She just about screamed when Bane was knocked backwards through the door and Bruce came barreling in after him. One of Bane's men ran at him, but was immediately knocked out. Bruce threw the man's gun to Talia and went back to attacking Bane.

"Cover the doors." He yelled to her.

Y/n watched in horror as Bruce shoved, punched, and kicked around Bane. Wait, why wasn't he fighting back?

At closer inspection, she noticed that the tubes on Bane's mask were detached. She raced over attempting to pull Bruce away, but was shoved to the floor. The batman held her down and was about to punch her when he noticed who she was.

"Y/n?" He asked. "You're working with Bane?"

Bruce quickly slid off of her, he pushed Bane against the rock Island in the middle of the room, his attention still on her.

"B, I don't have any excuses."

"Good." Talia's voice sounded from behind her. "Because, we don't want to hear them."

Y/n's breath hitched when she felt a gun being pressed to the back of her head, Talia looked over at Bane. The glimmer in his eye was like something she's never seen, he's never given her that look before, and she couldn't put her finger on it.

She crouched down beside Y/n, smirking like the little shit she was. Bruce looked between the two women, his focus completely off of Bane.

"I wouldn't have expected you to be working with the child of Ra's Al Ghul." He said.

Talia slowly slipped her knife out of her pocket, "He's not the child of Ra's Al Ghul..." She jammed the blade into Bruce's side, still smirking. "I am."

Y/n locked eyes with Bane, she could see that he was in a lot of pain. He look so weak and tired. She wanted to help him, but was afraid to move on account of the pistol being pressed to the back of her head.

"I've waited years for this moment, Y/n." She whispered. "You have no idea how many nights I've dreamt of killing you."

She twisted the knife in Bruce's side, smiling when she saw Y/n wince.

Talia cocked the gun, and was about to pull the trigger, but a separate bang rang out. Y/n flinched, thinking that was it. Thinking she was dead, never to be heard from again. Until Talia's body fell limp behind her, she looked around for where the shot came from, when her eyes landed on the gun in Bane's hand. It was pointing toward where Talia once knelt, Y/n was speechless. Never in all her years of knowing Bane did she ever think she'd see the day where he kills Talia.

Y/n looked over at Bruce, "Go." She said.

"What?"

"Go. The detonator for the bomb may have been blocked, but it's still on a timer. Get your ass up and get it away from the city."

"What about you?" He asked.

"I have other shit to do, like helping him."

Bruce looked between Bane and Y/n, he stood and with one last glance, then ran for the exit.

Y/n straddled Bane, one by one she began to take each tube on his mask and gently press it back into place.

"Why did you choose me?" She asked, feeling his strong gaze on her.

"I love you." His voice sounded strained and weak. "I'm with you to the end, My little Rabbit."
