RWBY Winter and Christmas Tales Masterpost

Hey guys, DarkSaiyanGoku here and it's that time of year again! The RWBY Christmas Tales are back and this time, there's a big twist! Along with the ship-centric stories, I will also be writing stories based on the Winter season with all manner of genres; comedy, action, adeventure and even horror. (Note:They all have a good amount of scars,Tim,Cass and Stephanie have monolids and Dick,Tim and Damian have hooked noses so i'm saying that in this part so i don't repeat myself in all of them)

Dick:Short black bair that's almost always a little messy,cornflower blue eyes,light brown skin,and a thick build-Mostly muscle but does have some chub to him for that DadTM look.A bit below average height

Jason:Afro-dominican with shoulder length black dreads and one being white from the Lazarus Pit,green eyes,dark brown skin,a big nose,thick lips and very jacked(fat and buff).6'1

Tim:Half white,half cherokee(Janet's side).Straight black hair that goes down to his waist,dark brown eyes,brown skin that's darker than Dick's but still lighter than Jason's,Duke's and Damian's,his nose is bit smaller than Dick's and a build that's in a weird place between scrawny and muscular.Average height

Cass:Black undercut,brown eyes so dark they look black from afar,a slim and flat nose,skin that's lighter than Dick's and a very toned and defined body(buff Cass rights).A bit tall

Duke:Black wicks with a yellow dyed streak(in solidarity with Jason),honey brown eyes,dark skin around Jason's shade and a bigger nose than him but thinner lips and less muscular than his siblings but still strong.Same height as Cass

Damian:Hair is black and long and anime texturedTM,big green eyes that are darker than Jason's,medium brown skin and has good muscle but also baby fat.Short king for life

Stephanie:Half jamaican(Crystal),half south korean(Arthur).Black hip length butterfly locs,bright blue eyes,the darkest skin out of all of them,a very strong nose and jacked like Jason but less muscular and more fat.Tall queen

Taurus- Ginga OC (art by Jazz)

Latin word for “bull” obviously. Not only do Taurus and all his siblings (Sagittarius, Aquarius, and Libra) follow a zodiac/constellation theme naming, but his name is also appropriate for his quite literally bull-headed and impulsive personality, at least in his pre-development arc. His fighting dog title is Taurus the Bull for this very reason

Karis- The Heart of Karis (original story)

A variation of the Greek name Kharis or Charis, which in turn comes from Charites (“graces” or “charities”), a group name for the three Greek goddesses of charm, beauty, and nature

Ghost, Sun, and Takoda (Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron OCs) (art by Skyvixie)

Ghost and Sun aren’t difficult names to understand obviously but these are actually the shortened versions of their names. Ghost’s full name is Ghost-Of-The-Past, named for his similarities to Spirit and Rain. Sun’s full name is Burns-Like-The-Sun because of her fiery personality. Google SAYS that Takoda is a Lakota-Sioux name meaning “friend”. Probably not the most reliable source for indigenous names but it’s all I got right now

Raiya- Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss OC

Her name was originally Magenta Rogue when I first created her but I decided I didn’t like it for reasons I can’t remember. I picked the name Raiya for her because I was going off the theory that sinners were named after the way they died (eg. Angel Dust dying from a drug overdose, Cherri Bomb because a bomb possibly exploded in her face, etc…) Her human form was killed during a street riot so I named her Raiya which sounds a bit like “riot”. Raiya is apparently a real Arabic name that means “sheep pasturing” or “flock”

Sytke Ardus- RWBY OC

First name is a different spelling of Sitka and pronounced the same way (my friend came up with the unusual spelling and it just stuck). Though he’s directly named after the Brother Bear character Sitka, the name means “people on the outside of Baranof Island”.

The last name Ardus is an intentional misspelling of Arcas, a character involved in the mythology behind the Ursa Major and Minor constellations, another part of Sytke’s motifs

The parents of two look down at their newborns, there they saw that both Vergil and Dante were glaring angrily at one another.

Jaune: Oh I think they’re just having a staring contest.

Blake: A staring contest? I wasn’t sure babies knew what that was.

Ruby: That just means our little boys are smart little guys, isn’t that right?~

Dante: *slaps his twin’s cheek* Hehehehe~ 😆

Vergil: *shouts angrily, then returns said slap* Ha!

The twins then start to have a slap fight.

Jaune: Boys, no! Stop it, break it up, brothers are supposed to love each other! *tries to stop the fight*

Toyotaro’s proof that sometimes having the fans write an official story ISN’T always the best idea.

True. But part of the problem too is that Toyotaro is a little too in love with his own past work. See, his AF manga is really what got him this job. He loved the series, sure. I’m not gonna say he doesn’t. The problem here is that one thing AF showed, and it’s not a problem unique to him, being fair, was that... he really didn’t get the series or characters? Like he just kinda slapped on their GT personalities (which was also problematic but I digress) and just sorta... focused on the Saiyans and that’s it? He also apparently got some pushback for controversial narrative choices he tried to fix via sudden retcons or handwaving, a problem he still has. But he’ll still get self-referential about his AF work, right down to reusing scenes and ideas for fights in Super, and even allegedly reusing line art for characters. (Goku Black, for instance, happens to look a lot like Xicor, his OC, in several panels of Super. He also reused the idea of Vegeta popping in and out of various forms to gain specific advantages  for Vegeta vs Goku Black, but apparently forgot his own rule on how popping in and out of Blue without a proper cooldown affects the power increase you get... and besides that, it was actually an idea he swiped from Goku vs Freeza filler in DBZ where Goku was popping in and out of Kaioken during their fight in short bursts to minimize the strain on his body.) I’m all for fans being involved in the process, absolutely, but... not with so much control going to one of them. Especially when they’re not above playing favorites.

Episode 1: Lancaster: The Mistletoe Kiss

Blake: Sun, I'm not so sure about this.

Sun: Come on! You know you wanna see it too.

Blake: I know, but how are we gonna get Ruby and Jaune to kiss?

Sun: I have that covered. *shows mistletoe* The ultimate romantic plant in the world! And since it's the month of December, an extra little Christmas spark to boot!

Blake: Hmmmm, we still need to find a way to actually get them in a room together.

Sun: Oh I have that covered. *picks up scroll and calls* Sage, are you and Yang ready?

Sage: You know it, bro! Nothing like a batch of Christmas cookies to lure out Ruby.

Yang: Decorated with the finest icing and candy, I might add.

Sage: Indeed you did, dear. Mwah!

Yang: Awww.*smiles* Maybe I should get you under the mistletoe next.

Sage: Hopefully in a more private-

Sun: Guys! Focus here!

Sage: *ahem* Anyway, the bait is ready. We even have Jaune's favourite, candy canes.

Sun: Alright! Team BSSL, go!!!!

Sage/Yang: Yeah!!!! *hang up the scroll*

[At the Beacon Common Room]

Ruby: Oooooooh. *gazes at the Christmas cookies and eats a snowman one* Mmmm~

Jaune: *munches on a candy cane* Nom! Oh hi, Ruby!

Ruby: Hi Jaune! How was the mission?

Jaune: It was fantastic! Ren totally kicked ass out there against this group of mercenaries and Nora and Pyrrha managed to get everyone to safety. The mayor was so happy that he awarded us with these medals!

Ruby's eyes sparkled as Jaune showed her a gold medal with the emblem of a lion on it.

Ruby: Wow! It looks so cool!

Jaune: I know, right? Oh and, uh, *shuffles feet* I also got you this. *hands Ruby a gift wrapped in white and red*

Ruby: *blushes* Oh! Thanks Jaune!

Jaune: It's a shame you can't open until Christmas, though.

Ruby: I have no doubt that it's worth the wait. *smiles* Thank you.

For a moment, the two of them couldn't stop staring into each other's eyes. They felt faces go red and tried to look elsewhere, with both of them catching a glimpse at mistletoe hanging above them. They looked at it and back at each other. Ruby and Jaune smiled nervously as they inched closer. Their hearts were racing a marathon as they closed the gap between their lips and kissed each other. It was small and they pulled apart for a few seconds, but they both couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear.

Ruby/Jaune: *holding each others' hands* Merry Christmas.

From behind the sofa, Sun and Blake cheered silently. Their plan worked! Operation Orange Mistletoe was a success!
