Sooo, I bought the Lotus Tower model kit and, of course, I went overboard making it as accurate as possible to the show. To no one's surprise, I'm guessing? 😅
For reference, this is what the completed model (sans horses) looks like without most* of my alterations:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*The awning material and decoration is my only alteration at this point, as I didn't like the fabric they included with the kit.
I had so much fun with this model! It is well-made, has moving parts, and is actually fairly easy to put together, with most parts just clicking into place. It even has furniture details inside!
Let me know what you think! Have you got the kit? How are you finding the building process to be? If you want to hear a more detailed review of it and see my progress shots and details of my own creative additions, click below:
First, unboxing!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is how the box arrives. I ordered it from CPOP Universe and it arrived well-packaged and undamaged within a matter of weeks.
Along with the kit itself - which as you can see consists of a stack of laser-cut sheets coded from A-Q, and numbers detailing the specific parts - you receive a coaster (ceramic, backed with cork, and very pretty), little standees of difanghua, a letter styled after the ones difang recieve from Li Lianhua, and a replica of the booklet of yangzhouman techniques.
The process:
The first floor came together pretty quickly:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Glue is provided, but isn't necessary for a lot of the pieces, as I found the measurements for a lot of the joints to be pretty snug and able to hold together themselves. Glue is necessary for some parts, though, particularly for areas such as the step up to the rear sleeping area. Strong glue. Here is what the fist floor looks like:
Tumblr media
Fitting on the ceiling turned out to be the hardest part of most of the build. All of the holes on the second floor had to line up with every joint on top of the walls and doors.
The next big step I encountered was a curiosity. How to make the rear wall work? There was a curious piece clearly meant to anchor the rope, and a round hole that - much like the doors - meant that this piece was supposed to rotate - and even lock. But I received no instructions on how to achieve that. I found this puzzle (which I like to think was an intentional challenge, given the gadget-orientated FDB) to be a fun challenge. So I won't show you the inner workings and spoil it, but I'll show you the working product:
Next was the rather fiddly job of creating the sail awning. I imagine this will be quite difficult for some as there's no clear indication of how to fix the material in place.
My instinct was to sew it as that is also a craft I have practice in, though granted not everyone who buys this kit will be as comfortable with a sewing needle. The two swatches of fabric provided is also quite prone to fraying, and is quite thick and canvas-like. So, knowing that the awning is a big feature of Lotus Tower, I decided I could do better:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the left is the provided fabric, and on the right is my own material (an old blouse that I never wore, with patches dyed with my promarker pens).
After that, things should've been an easy home run, as all I had to do was affix the wheels to their axis points and put the horses together. However, quite unfortunately, one of the wheels hadn't been cut out in my kit. I had to cut it out myself with a coping saw, a Stanley knife and much patience😅
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It came out looking rough, but nothing a little sanding and a touch up with my promarkers couldn't fix. I also eventually glued the wheel caps to the axis to prevent the wheels popping off every time I touched it, and they all still spin fine (minus the one I had to cut myself, that one's a little sticky😅). Then came the horses, and I was done!
Or so I thought. "Don't you think it looks a little too brown?" said my detail-obsessed brain. "We could do... more...."
And so I did.
My additions:
I used scraps coloured by my blue marker to create the beams of the house, and later coloured the fence posts red.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made a second sail to hand under the stairs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I created a second planter box (again, from the scraps and coloured with promarkers - two sets of flowers were included in the kit, so I could put one in each planter.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I even created a rain chain using old earring backs, jewellery findings and a chain, spray painted matte black and then painted blue-grey.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To colour the roofs, I likewise painted them a light blue-grey (/brown for Hulijing's kennel), then used a darker blue promarker to roughly add in texture.
I painted the weather vane, and used scraps to add in its missing two cardinal points.
Tumblr media
And then finally, I made a winch for the rear wall! It's also easy to turn with the roof on, so I'm very pleased even though it's a little rough looking 😅
Tumblr media
Had to gif my video clip because tumblr said boo no to more than one :(
And that's it, that's my latest build! I found this kit very fun, loved the process and seeing Lotus Tower come to life. I also loved adding in all the details to make it just that bit more accurate to the show. My only true criticisms are 1) small design oversights with the base wood colour being a tad too dark imo; the missing arms on the weather vane; and no second flowerbed (although I may be being a tad too pedantic about it 😅). 2) The fact that one of the wheels in my kit didn't get cut out properly (a quality check issue).
Obviously, I made the choice to use a different material than the fabric included so I can't speak to how satisfactory it is. However, if I were ever in the position to give IQiYi direct feedback, I'd suggest they include thinner fabric, and paint (or paint suggestions, as I know model paints aren't usually allowed through customs in these kinds of kits) for the roofs, because (by way of how they're constructed) they're just raw edges of the reinforced card parts - completely uncoloured, despite being a very visual element of the piece.
Thank you for reading this far lol Keep an eye out for more art and craft posts! (I have a Siji Manor set update coming shortly 👀)

happy holidays
Tumblr media
summary- an insight to the most perfect christmas
warnings: you already know it’s just fluff
word count: +1k
It had been a busy Wednesday, teaching five lessons today. You thought going into secondary school teaching would be a lot easier than primary, but maybe you were wrong. English had been your favourite subject growing up, so being able to teach it back to younger generations made your heart completely happy.
Even though the day had been long, you knew that comfort was waiting for you when you got home.
Harry had pulled all the boxes down from the attic, as you had asked him to last night, now sat in the hallway and waiting to be unboxed.
“Babe, I'm home!” You called out, taking off your red scarf and coat to carefully place on the hangers beside the door frame. It had been freezing outside, so coming inside to a toasty warm house made you feel very cosy. You didn’t have to look in a mirror to know that your nose and cheeks were now tinted red.
Harry came out from the kitchen door, a tea towel strung over his shoulder, with a smile on his face as soon as he saw you. He made his way over to you, careful of the mindfield of cardboard boxes. He reached his hand out to brush some hair from your face all whilst leaning in to give you a welcome-home kiss. You cherished moments like these, where he was so soft and simple. He didn’t force the kiss to be anything more than a simple ‘i’m-glad-to-see-you’ and you just loved him even more for that. He was the perfect person to come home to at the end of a busy day.
“Good day?” He asked, pulling back but keeping you close.
“Busy, but good.” You smiled, following him through into the kitchen after he’d nodded his head at you. “Joe King actually did his homework for once and Dinah Mite finally remembered that i’m a ‘Miss’ not a ‘Mrs’.”
“You say that as if you’re offended that Dinah called you a ‘Mrs’?” Harry teased, knowing you meant nothing horrible by it.
“They can call me ‘Mrs’ when it’s official.” You raised your eyebrows at him. Leaning on the kitchen side you watched him stir the bolognese he was cooking some more.
After long days at school, Harry had decided to pick up his weight more around the house and so he started to cook dinner. You’d known each other for 4 years now and when you’d first met Harry hadn’t even known how to cook toast without burning it, so to see him now perfectly cooking a bolognese you were proud - and slightly impressed.
Due to Harry not having your standard 9-5 job, thanks to being a mega-rockstar, he was often home a lot and so he liked to help as much as he could. Your chores now only included washing the dishes and drying them each day, and Harry did the clothes washing, hoovering, dusting and cooking. He was happy to do anything to ease your life a little and make you as happy as he could. Seeing Harry in an apron and cooking cupcakes, when he’s written songs like Watermelon Sugar, did make you laugh though.
“Was that a challenge, Miss L/N?” He asked slyly, bending down to check on the garlic bread in the oven. The kitchen smelt completely divine.
“Pull out a ring, ask me and let’s see.”
“Nice try.” Harry rolled his eyes, tutting you because you thought he’d ever ask you to marry him like this. “Now, come taste this for me.”
You pushed yourself off the side and waltzed over to him and the stove.
You were very lucky. You had gotten to design your house yourself from the foundations to what colour paint you want on the walls. Everything had been yours and Harry’s choice, along with some professional guidance too of course. Your favourite part was your kitchen however, because you’d taken a lot of inspiration from Dakota Johnson and designed the most perfect vintage green, cottage-core inspired, kitchen. The best part was your sage-green Aga, which Harry was currently cooking the bolognese on.
Harry brought the spoon up to your lips, blowing it cooler for you first. He kept a hand under the spoon in case any dripped, whilst directing the spoon into your mouth and letting the sauce embrace itself onto your tastebuds.
“Mmm.” You hummed in delight, letting the warm and tomatoey sauce soak its way all over your mouth. “Perfect.”
“Yeah? You must be a bolognese sauce too then, ‘cause you’re perfect.” Harry cheesily said, laughing to himself as he got back to stirring and turning off the heat.
“That was awful.” You laughed, leaning up to give him a kiss to his cheek.
Dinner was lovely. You couldn’t have faulted anything about the meal, all because Harry was becoming a five-star Michelin chef. Both of you caught up with each other over dinner, whilst also discussing plans for Christmas. You take it in turns to spend each year with your families, because you’re both so close to each other's family that wherever you are it always feels like home. This year you were spending Christmas in Holmes Chapel, since last year you’d spent it at your family’s.
Currently Michael Buble’s Christmas album was playing on the record player as you opened the boxes, filled with Christmas decorations, that Harry had brought downstairs earlier today. Every year, you both argue when you should put your Christmas decorations up. Harry always argued for the first weekend in December, but you like to decorate December 1st and if it wasn’t obvious already - you’d won. The boxes were ridiculously full with crap that you end up buying every year from various Christmas markets. This year you were going for a red and tartan theme, with hints of silver, since last year you had gold decorations.
Since you were a little girl, Christmas decorating has been your favourite part of Christmas because it really symbolises the start of the festive season. Harry never really got involved too much when he was a child, but ever since he’s been with you he’d decided that it’s his favourite part of Christmas too. He doesn’t really care for the tinsel wrapped around the bannister on the stairs, the Christmas card holder hanging over various doors or even the wreath hung upon the front door. What he really cares for is seeing that shining smile of yours as you watch Christmas come to life in your home.
“Babe?” You called from the living room, knowing Harry was out in the hallway wrapping fairy lights into the tinsel on the stairs.
“Yeah, love?”
“Need your help for the star.” You responded, not being tall enough to actually reach the top of your Christmas tree. It smelt so nostalgic and amazing, having argued with Harry for a real Christmas tree because nothing beats the fresh pine smell of a real tree. Screw the artificial ones.
Harry came waltzing into the room after a minute, giving a little shimmy as a jazz band solo came from Buble’s ‘White Christmas’. You laughed as he came over to you, thinking to yourself that this whole evening could be no more perfect. You handed him the star, but suddenly the song stopped and changed and on came Buble’s rendition of ‘All I want for Christmas is you’ - which, unpopular opinion, you have to admit you preferred over Mariah Carey’s.
He grabbed the nearest object to him, which happened to be a snow globe, before singing into it along with Buble’s. He harmonised, like the beautiful musician he is, before singing in duet.
“‘Cause baby all I want for Christmas is you.” He pointed to you and you shook your head in laughter, watching him be the Harry you absolutely adored.
He made some dramatic gestures and slid closer over to you, making some god awful shapes as he tried to dance. You kept on watching him as he kept singing, enjoying the minute concert he was putting on for you.
“Make my wish come true. You know that all I want, for Christmas, is you.” He got closer to you, and took your hand to twirl you around in a circle. He ended up pulling you closer and twirling you into his chest. You smiled as you let him finish his last line, before cupping his cheek and leaning up to kiss him softly. You made sure he felt your love for him as you kissed him, without any mistletoe - just because you could.
“I love you.” You whispered as you pulled away from his lips, giving him a quick second peck before breaking apart from him.
“Might’ve been my best performance yet, actually.” He turned his lips down in pride of himself and put the snow globe safely back down.
“I think that rendition of ‘Santa Baby’ you did in that really skimpy–”
“Okay, okay. Shut up. Don’t need to relive that moment anymore than I already do in my nightmares.” He shut you up, both of you now remembering Harry dressed in a short little Santa dress as he was dared to whilst he sang Santa Baby. It was the funniest Christmas karaoke that you’d seen, having been dared by your brother when you spent Christmas at your family’s last year.
“Think it lives in my nightmares too.” You laughed, picking up the star for the tree.
“Oh alright, yeah, love you too.” He said sarcastically.
“You wanna put the star on?” You offered an apology, holding the star towards him, even though it was the part of the decorations that finished everything off.
“No matter the amount of teasing from you will make me take away your favourite part of Christmas from you.” He said, turning you around and lifting you up from the waist so you gained an extra few feet. You easily reached to put the star on top of the tree and it looked so perfect sitting up there. You smiled and nodded in approvement.
Next thing you knew Harry was letting you down, but only a little so he could swing you around and hold you up. You connected your legs around his waist, locking your arms around his neck as he held on tightly around your waist. He leaned in to give you a kiss on your nose, but you tilted your head up so he reached your lips instead. He chuckled into the kiss, not leaning back as you pressed yourself into him. He tasted like peppermint, which let you know he’d been snacking on the sweets you’d left in a bowl on the kitchen table. You hummed in delight as you breathed him in completely, before leaning back to look at your beautiful other half.
“Y/N?” He speaks quietly, as if there were other people around to hear.
“Yeah?” You rested your forehead on his, enjoying the feeling of being this close to him.
“Thank you for being my forever Christmas.”

Packer Play
Inspired by these two posts:
@samaellevampire's post about swiss/dew packer play and
@belle--ofthebrawl's post about quintessence on straps
Swiss gets a packer, and Dew has a great time sitting on his lap (they fuck nasty about it)
This is incredibly self indulgent with a little bit of a rant about packer skin tones from your resident mixed race writer (i am not pale, olive, or black thank you very much!) and of course be careful if you’re going to bind during sex, let’s just pretend Swiss has sized up for this fic <3
cw: mentions of dysphoria, not feeling 'enough'
Read on AO3 or below the cut!
Swiss stood there staring at the package left outside his door, Mr Swisstopher Ghoul, it read, one of the first parcels he’d received under his new name. He giggled as he brought it inside, knowing exactly the contents of the inconspicuous box. Tearing the brown tape with a fang, he ripped into the cardboard, unboxing the items he’d ordered the previous week.
Laid out on his bed were three items, a packer, a strap, and its harness. The packer was flame red, the website didn’t have any colours to match the multi ghoul’s rich skin tone so he went with the novelty option. He’d rather have a silly colour than one that felt off, like it wasn’t designed with people like him in mind. Swiss chose the mid-size packer, he knew Satan would have blessed him with a monster cock given the chance, but he didn’t want to look like he was permanently sporting a woody if he could help it.
The strap was much more well endowed, the multi ghoul needing not worry about showing off his size in the bedroom. Another novelty colour, green this time. He couldn’t wait to sink it into Mountain and watch it camouflage against his sage cheeks. The harness was a black pretty thing, trying it on he’d be lying if he said he didn’t get a little bit wet at the sight of the fabric digging into his hips. But that was for another time, the multi ghoul was just excited to have that casual bulge, to not feel exposed when he stretched his arms above his head, leaning back slightly. To not feel like people were searching for a sign that he wasn’t a man. And most of all he was excited for the grey sweatpants season they were currently in the midst of.
Dewdrop was the first to notice it. He’d waltzed into the common room as Mountain and Swiss were co-opping on Grand Theft Auto, trying to deliver drugs, or something. Dew couldn’t have cared less about the antics on the screen, his eye was immediately caught by the bulge sitting pretty in Swiss’ lap. That’s new, he thought, scheming. It was unmistakable, the thick fabric bunched up at the faint outline of the silicone, jutting out in his lap. It was just inviting Dew, taunting him to sit on it and wriggle to his heart’s content.
“Hey big boys, whatcha playing?” he asked, feigning interest in the game.
“Just helping deliver Mounty’s weed supply, droplet, you okay?” the multi ghoul replied.
Dew made a hrmph before responding, “Yeah just had a bad day, ‘s all.” His day had been fine but he knew Swiss would immediately invite him for cuddles if he said those words. The multi ghoul cared so deeply for his pack. It was easy to pin him down as ‘the horny one’ but it went so much deeper than that. His love language was acts of physical affection, he relished in helping his partners relax, and in showing them they’re worthy of love, and orgasms.
Swiss didn’t utter a word as he threw the controller on the arm of the chair before outstretching his arms for Dew to sit on his lap. He leaned back as he did so, straining the sweatpants over his cock, making Dew’s mouth water. The fire ghoul tried not to look too happy as he launched into Swiss’ lap, their chests touching as Dewdrop could feel the firm fabric of Swiss’ binder beneath his shirt. He threw his arms over Swiss’ shoulders, cradling his head in the multi ghoul’s neck, breathing in his scent. He could feel the packer poking him through their clothes, teasing his entrance. It was going to be different from his usual ploy of getting the ghouls hard beneath him, but it would be worth it to see the wet patch Swiss leaves behind when the multi ghoul finally gives in and drags him to the nearest bedroom.
“Mm thanks, Switchblade,” he chirped as he picked up the controller to hand it back to the multi ghoul. Dew was so slight that Swiss could easily continue playing even with the small ghoul koala-hugging him.
Swiss couldn’t easily continue playing, however, when Dew began to subtly grind his hips into him. It was barely perceptible at first, perhaps a comfort stim for the anxious ghoul atop his thighs. But he kept doing it, becoming more insistent with every movement, hips circling his oh- circling his packer. He was certain if he had any feeling in the silicone sitting flush against him, he’d feel Dewdrop dripping onto him.
“You alright, lovebug?” Swiss probed, delighted at the attention he was garnering from just being his true self.
“Mhm, just thought your lap looked inviting,” he muttered into Swiss’ neck, hips moving with reckless abandon as Mountain was engrossed in outrunning the looters stealing his drop. “Ah- fuck, you’re so big, baby,” he whined into the multi ghoul’s ear, “Can feel every inch of you. Bet you’re begging to get inside me, hmm?” he teased.
With that, Swiss dropped the controller on the floor, leaving Mountain to fend for himself. “Lucky for you, firefly, this isn’t the only package that arrived today,” Swiss grinned, placing a kiss between Dew’s horns, “Keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll quickly find out exactly how big I am,” he grunted.
“Don’t threaten me with a good time!” the fire ghoul chuckled, sure his cunt was soaking through his own sweatpants and onto Swiss’. He couldn’t wait to get up and see the dark patch he’d marked the multi ghoul with; once a water ghoul, always a water ghoul.
Swiss was wet too, the silicone pressing nicely against his tiny cock, but the party in his head was miles better than the one in his pants. The euphoria he felt at Dew grinding on him like he really had a dick, like he’d seen him do to the other ghouls, Aether, Mountain, Sunny. The euphoria of having something for Dew to grind against, a tangible object between his legs. Seeing Dew’s blissed out face as he began almost to hump against the packer, it set Swiss’ nerves alight, truly a feeling he’d treasure for eternity.
His gender breakthrough could wait, however, a certain fire ghoul was getting impatient. He stood with ease, large arms cradling Dewdrop as the small ghoul kept his hands wrapped around Swiss’ neck. As they walked down the corridor Dew made a point of bouncing into the squishy toy that was perfectly aligned with his dripping cunt, leaving Swiss groaning and stuttering in his steps.
“Hey, Switchblade, you ever thought about quintessencing that dick of yours? Might be fun,” Dew shrugged as Swiss unceremoniously threw him on the bed. Swiss whined at the idea, how didn’t he think of this before?
“Fuck, baby, I have now,” he growled. Swiss grabbed the green strap, sitting next to Dew as he closed his eyes and made contact with the toy. He could feel his quintessence resisting, maybe he should’ve taken more lessons with Aether.
It took a few minutes, Dewdrop sitting behind the multi ghoul, arms wrapped around for moral support, peppering his clothed back with kisses; quintessence came more easily when a ghoul was relaxed. The strap finally took hold of Swiss’ magick as it had the slightest purple tinge to it, a beautiful contrast to the sage.
“Umm, could you undress me, firefly, I can’t really let go of this now,” Swiss asked, gesturing at the glowing toy in his hand.
“Anything for you, my darling,” Dew replied, flushed a deep red, having already removed his shirt, fresh air hitting the crescent scars on his chest. He bunched Swiss’ white t-shirt up, manoeuvring it through one arm, before getting Swiss to change hands, and remove it fully.
“On or off, honey?” Dewdrop asked, drawing hearts in the black binder now exposed, hugging Swiss’ chest, tight.
“On. Wanna fuck you like a real man,” Swiss replied.
Dew’s heart broke at the sentence, “Love, you know you’re already a real man, tits or not? It’s important to me that you know that.”
“Maybe you think I am, but I don’t feel like one,” Swiss cried, unsure where this was coming from. Perhaps it was because he felt truly safe with Dew, “I don’t have a dick, my tits could win a Miss Universe contest, my clit’s fucking tiny, I’m practically hairless like one of those ugly ass cats Phantom wants, and my voice is higher than Cirrus’, is it any surprise I still feel like a girl?”
“Oh baby, I get it. It’s so hard at the beginning but it will get better, I promise. Do you wanna talk about it or do you wanna fuck me silly? I’m fine either way, remember you don’t owe me anything, yeah?”
Swiss contemplated, before deciding he didn’t quintessence this damn dildo for nothing, “Wanna fuck you,” he whispered.
“What was that, my big boy?” Dew smirked, making a note to properly talk to the ghoul after the scene, he was clearly going through it.
The fire ghoul boxed Swiss against the head of the bed, thighs encasing those of the multi ghoul. “I said I’m gonna fuck you silly for grinding on me in the common room!” he growled, passion reignited.
“That’s more like it. Make me scream, Daddy.” Dewdrop said as he placed a hand over Swiss’ clothed dick, small fingers making the packer look even bigger. Swiss couldn’t help the whine that escaped his lips at the sight.
Slowly, Dew began to remove the sweatpants, revealing the bulge in all its glory encased in Swiss’ tight boxer briefs, fine details visible through the fabric; veins and ridges and bumps. The smaller ghoul mouthed at it, before licking a stripe from root to tip and fully undressing the other.
“Shit, Dewdrop you’re gonna make me come before I get inside you at this rate,” he exclaimed, stepping into the harness and affixing the strap, finally able to let go when it was settled in the o-ring.
Swiss gave himself an exploratory stroke, hand enclosing the shaft and moving cautiously to the head, “Oh- fuck- ah- holy Satan below” he exclaimed.
“Quintessence is working then! Just don’t blow your load too early,” Dew chuckled as he gracefully positioned himself on the bed, face down, ass up. The perfect position for Swiss’ first real fuck since coming out.
The multi ghoul squeezed a handful of lube from his bedside before slicking himself up. The stimulation was something else, how cis men did this was beyond him. He was wincing, hissing in arousal before he even got inside the fire ghoul. SIicked up, Swiss lined himself up with Dew’s now bare cunt, beautiful lips glazed with his arousal, inviting Swiss’ cock to make itself at home, to bury himself in it.
And he did, head teasing the entrance as Swiss’ hips stilled to ground himself, basking in the mind-blowing pleasure. He sank in with a moan, watching as Dew’s cunt stretched around his cock, as it weeped, begging for more. He kept going until the fire ghoul’s ass was flush with the harness, and he stopped.
“Fuck- firefly, ‘m not gon- ah gonna last long,” Swiss keened, panting as he tried desperately not to come, thinking of the time he walked in on Primo having a bath, anything to not spill inside the fire ghoul.
“Come on Swiss, I’m not that hot, am I?” he retorted, feeling incredibly full and oh so wet, thoughts he’d keep to himself for now, lest Swiss actually come on the spot.
Both of their efforts were for nothing, however. Swiss thought it was safe, thought he’d imagined enough wrinkly old men to be able to fuck Dew within an inch of his life. The poor multi ghoul lasted three whole strokes, watching the way his cock was swallowed whole by Dew’s folds before his own cunt was clenching around nothing as he near-screeched through his orgasm. He jackhammered into Dewdrop as he worked himself through it, screaming bloody murder at the sensations he was being assaulted with.
“Well, well, well, I didn’t have minute man Swiss on the cards for tonight but Lucifer fuck that was hot. You’ll have to hook me up with my own quinty dick one day,” Dew chimed as Swiss’ thrusts came to a stop, head craning back to look at the multi ghoul. He was sweating buckets, binder nearly off with how much he’d thrashed around, it was a sight to behold.
“Unholy shit, Dewdrop. Need you to come sit on my lap more often.” Swiss panted as he pulled out, cock dripping with Dew’s slick, that he definitely pretended was his own come.
“You certainly fucked me like a man, no woman has ever come that quickly inside of me,” Dew giggled, “You know the rules though, you gotta get me off now.” he added as he moved to lay on his back, legs spread wide, waiting for Swiss’ skilled tongue to lap him up.
Swiss was never one to turn down a meal.

Drama club mishap
Story: Costume mishap at the nrc drama club
Characters: Ace trappola, Deuce spade, Jack howl, Epel felmier, Jack howl, Lilia vanrouge, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy & Yeri
CW: None probably unless you're scared of kpop girl group red velvet, OOC probably
A/n: I submitted this fic for a grade and it got a 98💀💀💀💀💀💀
The group of friends were sitting in a circle in the courtyard, limbs stretched out on the plush grass as they nervously waited for an email stating their costumes for the annual school play had come in, hoping they would fit correctly. Epel left out a huff, followed by the sound of his thick southern accent, "You know, I thought they said that we would get the costumes around three, It's already four now. "
"Just be patient, Epel. I'm sure they'll be sent out soon. " Jack said in a low tone of voice, trying to make his lavender headed friend didn't do anything too brash this time to avoid embarrassment, he definitely didn't want a rerun of what happened the previous year.
"Why do you even care anyway? Don't tell me you actually enjoy doing this. " Ace asked mockingly, not taking his attention from tapping away on his phone. "No I don't enjoy it, I just don't want to have another one of Vil's lectures because my costumes haven't come in yet. " Epel grumbled.
"Touche, " Ace said before opening his mouth again "Oh yeah, Sebek, bro, why are you here too? I thought you had a job to protect Malleus or somethin'? " The ginger questioned him, eyebrow slightly raised. "Well yes I do have a very important job of being a retainer to the great Malleus! But it just so happens that Master Lilia enjoys these plays and wanted me to participate this year. I tried to reason against it but he insisted obstinately. " Sebek sighed, threading a hand through his mint green hair.
A loud ping then rings out from a phone, another member of the group wakes up from his nap rather startled "Huh? Where am I? " He questions, Navy blue hair stuck slightly to his forehead from accumulated sweat. "Chill out, Juice, It was just a notification from your phone. Speaking of that you should probably check it. " Deuce grabbed his phone, Accidentally dropping it on the ground from his hands being clammy but quickly picking it up again and typing in his passcode.
He looked at the notification at the top of his phone, a email from the schools drama club director, Mr crewel. Giving them a notice to come and pick up their costumes for the play. "Guys, The costumes are done! " Deuce yells in excitement.
The group gets up and walks through the familiar hallways of the school until they reached the brown double doors leading to the theatre. They walked around to behind the stage where they saw Mr crewel, His assistant, Mr Kang and a few other students in the play, recognizing the one near the boxes of clothes as Lilia Vanrouge, Sebeks grandfather and mentor.
"Master Lilia! We have arrived to pick up our stage costumes. " Sebek announces loudly, Lilia turned around giving a wide smile, receiving his sharp canine teeth. "Hello son! I was just about to check with Mr crewel if you had shown up yet to retrieve your costumes. " Lilia turned around again, picking up a large cardboard box and shoving it in Sebeks hands "Now, Go try them on! " He insists. The five boys walk back into the dressing area to unbox their costumes.
"Geez, I can't wait to finally see em'. " Epel says "Me too. " Jack agrees. Sebek opens the box slowly, getting ready to see normal outfits, but they got something most unexpected instead. Inside the box was five, sparkling outfits, some two pieces and some in a piece, mostly in silver but with accent colours. One in a bright red, a blinding yellow, a darker blue shade, a electric lime green and a dusty purple.
Epel gasped, "What in tarnation are those things? " He exclaims in shock, Sebek eyes also widened in disbelief, Ace only chuckled. "Well come on men, we need to try on our outfits. " Epel glared but picked up his garment, trying to remain unflappable but ultimately failing. They retreated back to the dressing rooms for a short moment before stepping out in their outfits.
Shimmering stones and glitter shine from the lights pointing down in the dressing rooms, Deuce looks at himself in the mirror and says to his friends "Well I guess that we're rather adaptable. " trying to make the mood less disappointing but suddenly, a shout comes from behind them. "Hey? What are you doing with our outfits? " One of them asks, the boys turn around and are met with the faces of their female actresses, Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy and Yeri.
It then dawned on the boys that Lilia had fortunately grabbed the wrong boxes unknowingly. Ace started laughing "I got scared for a second that you were going to make us really wear these dresses! " He wipes a tear from the corner of his eye, Epel and Jack let out a breath of relief simultaneously, Deuce chucked slightly and Sebek stood there. But alas a crisis was avoided.

Funko Trollhunters toys
These are without a doubt the toys most people think of when they think Trollhunters and are frequently mixed up with the Simba versions despite being very different lines. There is also another issue in that (Particularly on ebay) people use Funko's production photos not the released toys.
They do look fancy just not what you're actually buying:
Tumblr media
Below the cut the first image is a production photo and the second is taken from an ebay seller who didn't go the easy route so that you can properly compare them. Because tumblr is erroring about photos again these cannot be placed side by side.
Jim is fairly common.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Claire has a disappearing off the face of the earth habit and is often priced higher as a result.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Toby is fairly common.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Boxed AAARRRGGHH is fairly rare and is often selling having broken confinement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unboxed Blinky is very common though seen quite a lot of boxed too. For some reason the Troll Dads keep being effected by colour corrections.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bular tends to be unboxed and (To make matters worse) often gets mixed up with another Bular that will come up again shortly...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jim and Bular are unique in the Funko line in that they also had Deluxe figures which you can see at the New York Toy fair 2017 photo below. This is of course production models too but is great for showing the size difference and exactly why they command a higher price.
Tumblr media
The dead give away it's the Deluxe models is their blue box which is unique to them. Some are unboxed so make sure to check the heights or look carefully at the photo used to make sure it's the figure you're after and not the smaller or even a Simba toy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Can you tell a thread was done on these very recently? Later on will post one on the funko pops/blind box minis and the plushies. Might as well cover all bases.

Sit back and enjoy
Tumblr media
A Rolls Royce of flowers.
Honestly, I would be fine with flowers from the local supermarket. Granted, they have really pretty and well colour coordinated bouquets.
Yesterday when I saw that box, I suspected what was coming. And I've never been gifted flowers in a box. It had to be something undeniably luxurious and over-the-top exquisite. And they were. These flowers last for over a year, and the whole hallway smells of rose water.
Despite my image here, in real life I'm a control freak and have trouble to sit back and enjoy, without feeling the urge to intervene.
When I saw that box, I surpressed the thought of an exorbitant price tag, and my jaw genuinely dropped to the floor. I blushed and said, thank you.
Then the narrator in me reached for the phone to savour and seize each moment and first to take a picture of the most impressive black box with the most meticulously tied black satin bow. I was asked, why. And I said, it's called, unboxing.

A gif of someone pulling a small blue cardboard box from a larger box of items, they rotate the box and images of a miniature hand-held fan can be seen (red and yellow). A gif of someone pulling out another small box, from the pile, this one is yellow with muliple colours and an image of a toy slinky on the side, they begin to open the box by pulling up the lid. And a gif of someone rotating a small cardbaord box in their hands, the box is navy blue with the image of a white prism and a rainbow beaming from it on the side.

FairyLoot Unboxing
Regency & Scandal January 2024
January has been an incredibly disappointing month - none of the boxes I received were worth having. OwlCrate also featured the same book as FairyLoot, but I'm pissed off at OwlCrate, and I've cancelled my subscription, so I won't bother with an unboxing post.
The featured book is "A Fragile Enchantment" by Allison Saft. I've read regency fantasy before, and really enjoyed it. But honestly, there is nothing that appeals to me about this book. This edition (like the whole box) is way too prissy for my tastes. It's got an exclusive colourway on the jacket, and an alternate cover on the reverse of the jacket, which is disappointingly similar to the original. There's some impressive printing on the hardcase, a full colour flower pattern on all three edges, and two different full artwork endpapers. There's a lot of work gone into this edition, but I just don't like it, and as I won't be reading the book, I'm going to sell it on.
The first item is a lunch bag. It's based on "The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels". It's not a very nice material, the pattern is (as I've said) prissy, and the colour is unpleasantly pastel. And that's coming from someone who loves pastel.
The next item is a ceramic flower pot. The is inspired by the "Emily Wilde" books. It's a good quality item, but again, not to my taste. It's overwhelmingly pink, and frilly. It's an odd shape, and quite small, so is probably suited more to herbs than anything else.
Next is a brooch, based on the featured book. It's a portrait of one of the characters. I don't really know what else to say about this, except that it's not nice. I'd never wear this.
Finally, there's an apron. It's a half apron, inspired by "Half a Soul". I love these books, but wouldn't have linked this design to the story. It's not a very good quality apron, the design is unimpressive, and the colour is unpleasant.
This month's tarot cards feature Niamh and Kit, from "A Fragile Enchantment".
I can't even really judge this box objectively, because it's so, so far from my personal taste. I really disliked the whole box, and I think it is the absolute extreme of a trend I hate - the gendered targeting of subscription boxes.

I watched The Clawdeena9 "documentary" with parts fast-forwarded. Thought it might be an insight into another side of the hobby.
It's hard to put into words how I feel but half of it felt like an ad read and the other half made me feel ill, it was unwittingly exploitative.
First things first, the documentary is him setting the goal of buying all 800 Monster High dolls brand new in box. By selling his unboxed dolls and raising money by being a youtuber and doing brand sponsorship and promotions.
Now... I don't know how to convey the horror a complete BNIB collection of Monster High evokes. It's not only sterilized of the emotions put into putting together your slow imperfect collection, the hunt, the thrift finds, the childhood faves with the bad haircuts. A complete set doesn't tell me which dolls you didn't feel fit you or just weren't as good quality in design or theme. Might as well be watching someone whitewash a home into a greige rental.
It's also the opposite of an investment because most of those particular dolls are chemically disintegrating if you're not treating them. This is a case where they are physically rotting. I am looking at gorgeously displayed stacks of bills with sticky melty resin seeping into them.
-------------
I don't want to be rude about the way people bond to a brand, universe, hobby, sports club, band or even religious rite for bringing meaning, connection and joy into their life at rough spots but ultimately it should serve you not the other way around or it feels maladaptive.
I understand special interests and that's how some people communicate and interact - I have trainspotter type friends for whom their love language is their passion which is their hobby & their work. I wouldn't present their life as entirely healthy because burn out happens and it's hard to find something else if one thing has been all consuming.
IDK. His life isn't terrible. It's not a soul crushing data entry or assembly line work with friends who only connect because you have the same boss or the same sports club. It still felt like a bunch of blurred personal vs professional lines, conflicting interests and a lost soul looking for some sort of goal or closure in the wrong places.
Here's what I really *really* wanted to hear at least once in the 2 hours:
"I enjoy performing"
"I've decided to set myself strict work hours and work boundaries"
"I have a new goal" (any goal but preferably one that can translate to other options such as marketing or beauty school)
"I have friends who don't get it at all but who are supportive in other areas".
It's supposed to be little pieces of art that bring comfort or spark creativity not a lifestyle. Not work is play and play is work and friendship is both and earn to buy more and connect to get more job opportunities to earn to buy more.
If there's one thing that I want to tell him and other fandom folks it would be:
For all the transformative power of stories and representation, you don't owe artists devotion. You paid for the art - that is good enough. The stories and the lessons and the songs and the things to look forward to... Those helped but YOU did that. You saved your life, you picked yourself up, you made changes, you survived.
-----------------------
As for the documentary style? I don't watch reality shows. I follow many artists on both personal and art accounts and often unfollow if I feel the personal is colouring or clouding the work too much. I have very mixed opinions about biopics, preferring memoirs. Both personal and art are valid but the blurring between personal and "content" is deeply uncomfortable and feels like the pimping of both. It's also a very obvious part of the story that Clawdeena9 has been a persona on the internet since Matt was a child, the two are intertwined. He's a grown man who makes his own decisions and yet I oscillated between feeling like a voyeur and feeling like I was being played. Personal TMI just before an ad read? That's the deeply uncomfortable boundary blurring that's at the heart of what people are just calling "cringe".
Many documentary and biopic makers fail at turning "a year in the life" into a narrative arc because life doesn't unfold in a three act structure ending in triumph. Attempting to tie it to a theme of resilience falls flat because life doesn't work like that, it sets an uncanny tone for what is a shopping quest on a backdrop of grief, breakups and mental health issues. It makes Mattel and Youtube out to be life preservers in this narrative instead of welcome distraction goals in life's struggles. The framing is terrible, especially given the young audience being sold what is literally referred to as "the dream".
If this feels like an overwrought critique of some small youtuber's docuseries, yes it is but it also applies to documentaries about Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, the Elvis film, the films about filmmaking, the books about being a writer, the influencer creep of people feeling entitled to personal life details about artists or artists feeling they need to sacrifice more personal details to get a chance.

❀    ||      maeve’s office space post coma
Tumblr media
in general,   when maeve stays somewhere long enough to actually decorate her office,   it is a mix of busy and disturbingly tidy.    seemingly ancient hardback copies of books are full of pencilled in notes,   post-its and little white cards where she’s illustrated something linked to it to help explain a concept to a student asking for extra help.   dried flowers in frames and framed interesting bugs    (  usually given to her as gifts  )   rest on various shelves,    a burst of colour from the outside that suits the usually plant heavy space.
visiting maeve’s office is very much like entering another world,   where everything has a story,   everything is seemingly ancient despite the room itself being very modern.   it doesn’t feel cluttered    -    unless she’s in the process of boxing / unboxing    -    but it still feels like a reflection of her mind when she’s in a good place.   it’s as much a learning space as her lecture halls are and it’s always open to students who need help or just to talk.

Grab Their Attention and Glow Up Your Sales: Custom Beauty Cream Boxes in the UK
Standing out from the crowd is a must in the booming world of British beauty. And what better way to grab a customer's attention than with stunning, custom-designed beauty cream boxes? They're not just about aesthetics; they're a powerful marketing tool that speaks volumes about your brand before a customer even unscrews the lid.
This guide delves into the world of custom beauty cream boxes in the UK, helping you create packaging that elevates your product and captivates your target audience.
The Allure of Customisation
High-street stores and online retailers are overflowing with beauty products. So, how do you make your luxurious night Custom Beauty Cream Boxes or revitalising day lotion stand out? Bespoke boxes are your secret weapon.
Branding Brilliance: Showcase your brand identity with customisable elements like logos, colours, and fonts. Want a touch of elegance? Opt for classic calligraphy and a pearlescent finish. Targeting a younger demographic? Go bold with vibrant colours and playful patterns.
Targeted Messaging: Don't underestimate the box's power as a mini billboard. Highlight key product benefits with clear, concise messaging. Is your cream packed with natural ingredients? Let everyone know! Does it target specific concerns like wrinkles or dry skin? Broadcast it loud and proud.
The Unboxing Experience: In today's social media-driven world, presentation is paramount. A beautiful box with thoughtful detailing creates a delightful unboxing experience that customers might even share online, boosting brand awareness. Think about inserts that cradle the jar, ribbons for a touch of luxury, or even custom-printed tissue paper.
Tumblr media
Crafting the Perfect Box: A Step-by-Step Guide
Now that you're convinced about the power of custom boxes, let's navigate the creation process:
Know Your Cream: Consider the size, shape, and weight of your jar. The box must be snug enough to protect the product during transit but spacious enough to avoid crushing it.
Material Matters: Cardboard is popular for its affordability and customisation options. However, for a truly luxurious feel, consider rigid boxes or boxes with a special laminate finish for extra protection. Eco-conscious customers will appreciate boxes made from recycled materials.
Design with Pizazz: Many printing companies offer online design tools or can work with your existing artwork. Don't be afraid to experiment with different fonts, colours, and finishes like embossing or foil stamping to create a truly unique look.
Functionality First: While aesthetics are important, functionality shouldn't be forgotten. Easy-to-open boxes with clear labelling for ingredients and usage instructions enhance the customer experience.
Beyond the Box: Additional Considerations
Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs): Be aware that many printing companies have minimum order quantities. If you're a small business starting, consider collaborating with other local beauty brands to meet the MOQ and split the cost.
Lead Times: When placing your order, factor in lead times for design, printing, and delivery. Don't get caught short-handed with empty shelves!
Regulations: Ensure your box complies with all relevant UK labelling regulations, including ingredient lists and any necessary safety warnings.
Standing Out in a Saturated Market
In the UK's competitive beauty market, custom cream boxes are an investment that pays off. They protect your product and act as silent salespeople, conveying brand values and enticing customers to choose yours over the competition. You can get more on the Custom beauty care boxes.
By following these steps and unleashing your creativity, you can create custom boxes that turn heads, elevate your brand, and ultimately boost your sales. So go forth, design with passion, and watch your beauty creams fly off the shelves!

Unboxing, Swatching and Testing Paul Rubens NEW 5th Gen Professional Watercolors (+ their paper too)
Today we’re taking a closer look at the new 5th generation Paul Rubens set of Professional Watercolors in pan format (Youlan set) to see how it compares with their previous set (4th generation). I received this set as a gift from Paul Rubens. And then we’ll see how they perform in a painting chosen to showcase their luminosity and vibrance.
This is what I found: The set is presented in a sturdy cardboard box with the painted tin wrapped in a microfibre cloth. It is available in pink or black with gold highlights in both cases. To summarize the findings: - Low price for the quality of the paints - Good selection of colours for botanical painting - not so good for urban or landscapes as very light on the neutrals and browns. - Most of the paints are highly transparent and only have one pigment in them. - Most are non-granulating or only slightly granulating. - Full info on staining, lightfastness etc is given.
Comparing this set with the tube set I was sent recently by Paul Rubens of the 36 colours I have to say I cannot tell the difference. Obviously there are 12 more colours in the tube set which is useful but still leaves a gap in the brown and grey area. However it is no big deal to purchase separate tubes or pans of Burnt Umber, Perylene Maroon etc. if you are looking for more browns. I would recommend these paints for a beginner or as a good gift for a teenager or serious student.
