"Yes I have feelings for you, moving on."

"Y/N?! Can I come in???"

You heard a flurry of knocks at your bedroom door as an excited Doctor rushed in before waiting for an answer.

"Why yes Doctor you may enter my room," you laughed. "What if I was changing or something in here?"

"Well I uh.. It hasn't happened yet!" he fought back.

You giggled and rolled your eyes at how flustered he got, something that you noticed happening often. Although you just chalked it up to that being a part of his personality, especially when he has so many lovely women flirting with him on your trips together.

He flopped onto your bed and stared at you.

"So! What are we doing today hm? Go see the stars of Ntiri, or perhaps an alien market, or we could go back to the time of the Renaissance!" he ended with a flair.

"A ball sounds nice, like in France. Marie Antoinette times! But preferably without the Reign of Terror, running isn't exactly on my wishlist for things today," you pondered aloud.

He jumped up and twirled you around, making you go all the way up on your tippy toes.

"Well alrighty then Ms. Y/N! The Yew Ball awaits!"

You rush out to see him start slamming levers and pulling bits and bobs as your center of balance is thrown away like it wasn't even there in the first place. It always amazed you how the Doctor managed to stay up the way he did. He was by no means the most graceful man you had ever met, but the TARDIS didn't seem to throw him around the same way it did you.

As he pulled you up and brushed some stray hairs out of your eyes, a thought hit you.

"Doctor?"

"Yes love?" he replied.

"Where are we supposed to get the right attire for this? My blouse and blue jeans won't exactly fit in a 16th century setting."

"Ah, don't worry about that, I'll get it all sorted out for us," he grinned.

The two of you walked out of the TARDIS, finding yourselves in a storage closet of sorts. You walked out and around the corner, up so many stairs you thought you might pass out, and then finally a couple more turns before stopping at a large white door with gold details.

The Doctor rapped on the door gently before a small brown haired woman appeared in a plain corset and dress.

He whipped out his psychic paper and the woman's face lit up.

"Oh! Madame you must hurry the ball starts soon!!!" she chimed.

She yanked you into the room as you gave the Doctor a very confused look while he just simply grinned back at you.

You then spent the next few hours getting your makeup done and having a multitude of dresses shown for you to choose from. It took at least one of those hours to convince the women helping you to not make you wear a wig, even if it is a sign of wealth, you just can't stand the itchiness.

Eventually, you made your way to the main ball room, stopping at the top of the stairs. The Doctor stood with his hands in his pockets admiring the view around him opposite you.

As his gaze met yours his eyes lit up and a wide smile crossed his face. He was in a royal, no, TARDIS blue coat and pants, with a golden waistcoat, and creme colored tights that he looked very upset to be wearing.

The two of you met at the top of the largest staircase, where the other two converged.

"You look absolutely stunning Y/N," he whispered.

You were given a ball gown in the exact same shade of gold as the Doctor's waistcoat, with your corset and center piece of material a light shade of cornflower blue, complementing your complexion perfectly.

"You look rather dashing yourself Doctor," you cooed.

He bowed to you deeply, arose, then held out a delicate hand to lead you down the stairs.

You proceeded to wander around the room, talking to many couples, eventually getting to meet Marie Antoinette herself. She found you most exciting, and thought you were the most intelligent person in the room.

The night began to slow, and the Doctor was leading you in your final waltz for the night.

"Doctor, I wouldn't have traded this night for anything," you said softly. "Although we must go into the past more often, we don't go nearly enough."

"I agree, the nights are always wonderful with the one you love most..." he stated holding onto your hand even tighter.

"Wait.. Doctor say that again?"

You couldn't believe what he had just said, did he really just say that he loved you the most??

Personality: resilient, quick-witted and determined. Dawn knows what she wants (to get rid of Seth) and she knows how to get it (using MC). She's never hidden her intentions, or lied about her objective. Dawn's distaste for deities is evident since the moment MC meets her, and she seems to faintly rejoice in reminding them. A very intelligent woman, Dawn loves street racing and causing some trouble online. She ‘works’ as a hacker.

Bruno

Personality: dependable, loyal and stoic. Vex is Dawn's older sibling, and while their relationship is not at its best, Dawn will always be V’s sole priority. They might not be the most affectionate person in the world, but when Vex cares they're willing to defy every norm they so dutifully abide. They've worked as a law enforcer for Lord Seth and the government for a few years.

Eris

Hair: coiled light brown afro. People know and recognize Eris by the wigs she wears, among which a white shoulder-length bob is the most iconic. Eyes: Dark brown. Her left arm isn't flesh but metal.

Personality: charming, humorous and flirty. Eris (real name: Estelle Lawrence) is a celebrity in every sense of the word. She knows just what to say and how to say it, she's likable, friendly and very talkative. Beneath the public persona everyone adores, Eris is a complete mystery.

11/13/2023: Everyone, please meet Camilla Hect!

Camilla here was originally Just Like You #62. I was absolutely dead-set on finding this exact doll for Cam because of the following logic: I personally use the actress Ariela Barer as a drawing reference for Cam. Ariela Barer, coincidentally, played Sonali in the American Girl movie Chrissa Stands Strong. While the Sonali mold is used by a variety of dolls, #62 is much closer to Ariela Barer's actual skin tone (and the skin tone a lot of fan art uses for Camilla) than the Sonali doll proper (and Sonali is extremely hard to find for prices I'd pay, especially for a doll I'm modding). #62 also has what are described as "amber-brown" eyes, but look passably grey-brown in person, so I'm not going to have to eye-swap her!

#62, however, came with some beautiful, glossy, very un-Camilla hair.

Lovely, right? But very not her.

(Also, look at her face, she is so cute. All of the dolls are cute, but I am particularly delighted by the Sonali mold dolls, I think because that was one of the molds that wasn't released until after my original childhood dolls phase so it's new to me.)

Luckily, this provided a very convenient solution for another problem here at Saint Alecto's: Abigail's poor coiffure.

As you can see, the hair our dear Lady Pent came to us with has seen better days. To say nothing of the frizziness (which we would gladly treat if that were the only problem!) there's that inconvenient case of back-of-head bangs she had going there.

So!

As I have done several times now, I set about removing the girls' wigs. (I get my advice, as I'm sure many of us do, from @desertdollranch's rewigging post.) This is a significantly more stressful process when you're trying to maintain the integrity of one of the wigs you're working with! (And okay, Gideon's wig actually came on Harrow's doll so I have reused before... but it didn't matter if Gideon's hair got a little messed up in the process. It adds character.)

My beloved wife and fellow... uh, guardian (I guess? God, we're not their moms, that would be so weird!) of the dolls @incomprehensiblelentils was, as often she is, ready with the Magic Eraser for sudden trouble spots; she also provided support (literally: holding the girls as I worked) and company.

And lo and behold!

Abigail Pent now has a beautiful new hairdo! (And I am more convinced than ever that she's going to need some lipstick. Nothing crazy, just a bit of color. That's for another day.)

More importantly, Camilla now has her trademark bob, as seen above. It's the Hoshi in chocolate brown by PurplePlumWigs (and yes, it is kind of gay* that Cam and Dulcie's wigs came from the same shop! This is part of why we can't be their moms: so many of these kids are in lesbians* with each other!) Her overalls are by StarBriteDoll on Etsy; the boots and tank top are harvested from eBay outfits.

They looked at the club in front of them, bodies dancing around as a bright and shiny disco ball spun above. Everything was vibrant and upbeat, so much that it was giving them a headache. It threw them off a little to be honest. After all, the whole reason they were here was to find Victor Zsasz. The notorious hitman. You see, y/n needed help with a job they were going to pull. While they were fully capable of carrying out their own hits, they felt that it might be safer to bring someone else around too. Sadly, this meant that they would need to split the cut. But, such is life.

"Shit, alright I just need to find him." Y/n mumbled to themself.

Shielding their eyes, y/n made their way through the crowds of people. It felt claustrophobic, surprisingly crowded for a disco party. Y/n didn't even realize disco was that popular anymore. Sure, there were a few songs that were awesome, but the genre had pretty much died out. While they made their way through the crowds, they asked people if they had seen a completely bald man anywhere, most likely dressed in all black. But, to their shock, no one had seen him. Y/n was positive that their source to this place was correct, but now they had their doubts. Sighing, they made their way to the bar. If they came here for nothing, they might as well get a drink.

"A martini, please." They said.

As the bartender got to making their drink, y/n took this as a chance to do another survey of the room. It was hard to make out who anyone was due to the flashing lights and swarms of bodies. Groaning in frustration, they turned back to the bar. But, as they did this, they noticed something out of the corner of their eye. More like, someone. It was a fairly lanky man, very pale skin. The person had an afro, as well as a bushy mustache and a bright multi-colored neon shirt with white pants. Now, the outfit and overall look of this person already stood out to y/n. However, when they looked closer, they noticed one key detail. Scars. More specifically, tally marks. Y/n gasped, grabbing the martini the barkeep gave them and drank it in one swig. They subtly walked over, pretending like they were mingling with the groups of people. When they finally reached the 'stranger', y/n waved at him and, politely, he waved back.

Y/n couldn't help but smirk. It was amusing seeing Victor Zsasz 'disguised' as a party goer. If you could even call it a disguise. It looked more like a costume from Party City, which is probably what it was. Y/n's smile fell as they stood in front of him, looking into his eyes.

"Cut the shit, Victor. I know it's you."

He looked around, eyes shifting nervously. If this was a cartoon, he'd have beads of sweat trickling down his temples. Scoffing, he waved his hand at them.

"Victor? Who's that? No, I'm...Bob. Bob Ross..." He stammered out, mentally facepalming himself.

"Bob Ross? Like the painter? That's crazy, I thought you were dead." Y/n stated flatly, crossing their arms over their chest.

"Fuck, fine you got me. What the hell do you want, anyways?" He grumbled.

"Well, I'd love an explanation on the outfit, but that can wait for another time. I have a proposition for you, if you're interested." Y/n suggested.

"Like...are we talking a business proposition? Or..." He asked, winking.

Y/n sighed.

"Yes, I so desperately want to talk to you about having sexual intercourse. No you fucking dumbass, just, follow me." Y/n shook their head as they walked to the hallway to the bathrooms.

Victor followed, though warily, as he was used to being on edge. He was very aware of his surroundings at all times. Y/n leaned against the wall, pulling out their pocket knife and fidgeting with it. Victor snapped his fingers, pointing at them.

"You're Y/n! Shit, sorry I couldn't tell who you were in those flashing lights." He said.

"Uh, yeah. Hi...anyways, I recently got a hit. A whole group of guys, really scummy people. But, I think it might be a little to dangerous for me to go it alone. I was wondering, how'd you like to tag along?" They asked, using the knife to accentuate their words.

Victor leaned against the wall opposite from y/n, looking absolutely ridiculous in his 'disguise'. He sighed, rubbing his chin in thought. Humming, he pointed at y/n again.

"What're you getting paid?"

"100k. Client wants these people gone. Dead. Done-zo."

"Split the pay 50/50 and I'm in." He said.

"Mmm, how about we split 30/70 and I don't tell everyone that Victor Zsasz goes to discos dressed like a member of Culture Club?" Y/n threatened.

"Or, how about I kill you and do the job myself?" He bit back.

"Touché. 50/50 it is, disco king." Y/n smirked, holding out their hand.

Scowling, Victor took their hand and shook it.

"Don't call me that."

Pahsiv by far is my favorite melusine in terms of design. The likeness to the Vishaps (pictured above), the way her eyes look, the colors, the intricate markings, the fact that her hair actually matches the rest of her (a lot of melusines have this problem where their hair just looks super out of place almost like a wig because the color doesn't match the rest of them at all and the karen bob cut doesn't help). Even her dress, despite being simple, works really well and is actually quite pretty on her.

Costume Breakdown: South Korean Production

Finally got around to doing a write-up on the South Korean costumes! So without further ado, a few general notes:

The costumes were seemingly all made by UK-based teams and makers. More detail below on each.

As a result, there’s not really any major design changes from the more recent UK costumes. Unless otherwise noted, you can assume that most details are pretty standard.

As always, the boots were custom La Duca. They were most likely embellished by Crystalled by Jane, who had done all the UK boots from very early on, but I couldn’t confirm that. Cleves has the usual thigh highs, but everyone else has a single strap (the double thickness) which the UK has slowly been standardizing to.

The actors, with a few exceptions, seem to be wearing their own hair rather than wigs.

The actors have the Roman numeral earrings.

The actors have the same glitter IEMs style as the UK cast.

As usual, the actors have makeup looks that line up with the popular styles in their country. In line with K-beauty trends, these queens generally have more subdued makeup looks than what we've usually seen in the US/UK and sometimes Aus.

Aragon: 이아름솔 (Lee Arum-soul) and 손승연 (Son Seung-yeon/Sonnet) I can’t confirm who made these costumes. They were possibly made by WhiteStar Costume, who made the most recent West End cast change Aragon costumes. It also might have been made by Rainbow Mascots, who made Jarneia Richard Noel’s costume for Hampton Court. Just like all other recent UK costumes, there’s black threaded through the chains of the necklace. Lee Arum-soul has her straight bob with peak-a-boo black/blonde coloring. Son Seung-yeon has her curled blonde hair. For both the front sections are just pulled loosely back; this isn't out of the norm historically, but it does differ from the French braids that are slowly being standardized in the US/UK/sometimes NCL.

Boleyn: 김지우 (Kim Ji Woo/Jennifer) and 배수정 (Pae Su-jeong/Shannon) Most recent Boleyn costumes have been made by White Star Costumes, but I’m not positive that these are. This costume uses the darker monotone green vinyl. It was introduced for Broadway with reopening, but has only been making its' way over to the UK in recent months. The skirts are also proportionally wider and longer than most recent skirts. Kim Ji-Woo has her bangs styled to the side and front. They both have green clip-in hair extensions.

Seymour: 박혜나 (Park Hye-na) and 박가람 (Park Ga-ram) These costumes were most likely made by Kirsti Reid. Just like all other recent UK costumes, there’s black threaded through the chains of the necklace.

Park Hye-na has a little bit stronger of a side part to accommodate her widow's peak, while Park Ga-ram has a stronger center part (although usually still styled slightly to the side). The softly styled front is in line with typical US wigs, but differs from most UK which usually is pulled fairly straight back.

Cleves: 김지선 (Kim Ji sun) and 최현선 (Choi Hyun-sun) The costumes seem to have been made by Paul Aspinall. He has been the primary UK Cleves costume maker in recent years.

Both queens have a front bump with small buns, in the same style as what Rachel Rawlinson wears on the West End. They also have a temporary red hairspray used on the front and separate red bright red extensions added to the back of their hairstyle, although it seems like there's been some variation and change in those specifics even throughout the run.

Howard: 김려원 (Kim Ryeo-won) and 솔지 (Solji) The costumes may have been made by Rainbow Mascots, who made Aimie Atkinson’s costume for Hampton Court, but I can’t confirm that. Note that Solji has flat boots due to an injury. Just like most other productions, Kim Ryeo-won and Solji have a ponytail hairpiece attached over their own hair. At the time of their debut, every other current Howard’s hair was pulled directly back into that ponytail piece. Instead of that, both have a side part with hair pulled to either side and a few small wispy bangs. (Note: Lou Henry has since debuted with a side swept front style as well)

Parr: 유주혜 (Yoo Ju-hye) and ​​홍지희 (Hong Ji-hee) The costumes were made by Ashleigh Cherry Costumes, who has been the primary UK Parr costume maker in recent years.

Both actors have the same front bump, braid, and back ponytail that we’ve been seeing become standardized for non-Black Parr actors. The ponytail sits lower here than for most other variations of the hairstyle.

I truly love fur wigs (nice ones not the really cheap sparse ones) because they’re really the most cost effective way to get soft, short hairstyles that actually look like hair. They make great pixie cuts and choppy bed-head type hair as well as little bobs and “scene” type combed over fringe stuff. Longer ones can even make cute straight cuts with bangs. They’re so soft and easy to work with and they don’t cost $20+ so if you mess them up or if the size/color is off, it doesn’t feel like a waste. I have so little success with other wigs being the way i hope they would be when i buy them, no matter how much money I spend on them. The fur also doesn’t have that plastic-y shine of synthetic doll hair.

The only cons I have are if they’re sewn wrong and they won’t fit the head, or that sometimes they have a little bit too much volume and it can be hard to get them to lay flat.

But honestly, I don’t think they look cheap or silly if you know how to cut and style them and can pass just as well as like a glued fiber wig and they are much more cost and time effective. All of my favorite doll wigs I have are just like $10 or less fur wigs that I razor cut and styled myself. And it feels so nice to gently brush them and fix them every once in a while to straighten them up.

“Rock on Bob Ross!”

Your two girls couldn’t be more different and staring at the two of them in their Halloween costumes was the most recent confirmation of that. You couldn’t help but smile to yourself knowing Jack was going to laugh when he saw both of his girls costumes. You checked your phone for the time, knowing any minute he would be coming home, no matter what he wouldn’t miss a night of trick or treating with the kids.

Hazel was dressed head to toe in an outfit she called her “rock star” costume and the irony of it all made you laugh. You remember when Jack asked her if she wanted to be a rapper like him and the nose wrinkle was almost enough to break his heart. The two of you laughed it off before helping her pick out the pieces of her costume. She had a distressed Rolling Stones t-shirt and black skirt over some leggings. She begged for boots and you and Jack got her a pair of white ones. “I want to have poofy big hair too” she giggled and you nodded. Eventually you and Jack picked out two different colors of temporary color to spray in her hair.

Jade was always a wild card for you too, she wasn’t into the usual princess costumes which you found to be interesting considering her and Hazel loved watching the movies. Jade always wanted to be something a little different and off the wall, but you and Jack embraced it. When she told you she wanted to be Bob Ross for Halloween the two of you were taken by surprise.

“Is it because you want hair like daddy?” Hazel asked which made you stifle a giggle, Jack only shooting the two of you an annoyed look.

“Uncle Urban showed me him painting happy little trees” Jade giggled and you and Jack realized now that it made more sense. Jade was incredibly attached to Uncle Urban, and it was a miracle she didn’t want to be him for Halloween.

You had to get someone to custom make her costume, considering most three year olds didn’t want to be a grown man for Halloween. The costume was perfect, you thought it was adorable on her. Jack hadn’t seen it yet, and you were so excited to see his reaction, the wig alone was enough to make you break out into a giggle fit but you kept the laughs to yourself for Jades sake.

“Do I look cute mommy?” Jade giggled as you adjusted her fake beard.

“Yes baby, you look like a painter! Very creative” you smiled as Hazel twirled around the living room in her skirt. “Is daddy almost home?”

You checked the time again “he’ll be home any minute and he has a surprise for you both!”

You knew Jack had bought both of the girls a new candy pail, and they were going to love them.

Almost on cue, Jack flung the door open and was greeted by his two girls. He had the candy pails in his hands but they didn’t even notice, they were just excited to see their dad. You grabbed the candy pails from him, and placed them on the coffee table in the living room.

“Let me see your outfits” he smiled as the two girls stood back from him, the both of them doing a small half twirl to show off their costumes. A smile spread across his face and he held back a chuckle “you both look adorable! Can daddy take a photo?” Hazel held up her hands signing “rock- on” and stuck her tongue out for most of the photos and Jade pretended to paint with her paint palette she had in one hand.

Jack quickly send Urban the photos with a message “Look what you did to Jade this Halloween.” He knew Urban would get a kick out of it, he loved his nieces and thought it was cute and hilarious how much Jade admired him.

“Did you see the buckets Daddy got you?” You smiled as you held both of them up for the girls to see, they both ran over to you and grabbed them immediately. “These are for us?” Jade said excitedly and Jack smiled “yeah, you needed new buckets to collect all the candy tonight!”

“Thanks Daddy” Hazel smiled and Jade echoed her.

“You’re both welcome” he smiled and you did too “Umm, daddy aren’t you going to put your costume on?” You smiled and he laughed “yeah, you’re right. Let me go get dressed.” He gave you a kiss before heading to the bedroom.

While Jack was changing in the bedroom the doorbell rang and it was Clay and his wife, they wanted to join you for trick-or-treating, they usually did. You let them in and both of the girls jumped up to greet them immediately, Clay laughed a little at the costumes. “Bob Ross?”

Jade nodded and giggled “Yes! Uncle Urban showed me him!” Clay half rolled his eyes “I should’ve known” his wife playfully slapped his chest and shot him a look. She bent down to speak to Hazel “and you? You’re a musician?” Hazel giggled “no auntie, I’m a rockstar! I told mommy and daddy I needed a guitar but they said it would just be in my way” she shrugged and you smiled at her story-telling skills.

Jack entered the room he had a t-shirt one with a symbol on it that resembled Superman. Clay looked at him up and down “what are you supposed to be?” You stood up and showed you had a matching shirt, “super parents duh!” You giggled and Jack blushed and shook his head “subtle right?” Clay and his wife laughed too, both saying “very!”

“Why are you not dressed up uncle?” Jade said as she swung her legs as they dangled off the couch.

“Yeah Uncle Clay!” You said with sass and a laugh.

“Dressing up isn’t really my thing” he shrugged and Jade shook her head ‘well it’s Halloween, so it should be.” Hazel looked at Jade with a surprised face “Jade, be nice!”

Jack laughed at the sassiness of his youngest child, “ are we ready to go?”

Everyone nodded and made their way out of the house, walking up and down the neighborhood, the girls collected quite a bit of candy, Jack had to say his usual “hellos” to some of the neighbors and kids who weren’t usually lucky enough to catch him on other days. You watched as the girls made their way up and down the driveways as he took a few photos.

You ended up walking around your neighborhood and a few blocks before finally calling it a night.

Your little Bob Ross was exhausted and Jack carried her home as she slept on him. Hazel held your hand as Clay inspected both of their candy pails for “poison.” You laughed every time he said “oh this one is definitely poison, let me get rid of it” and immediately put it in his pocket.

“I don’t believe you Uncle” Hazel giggled as the group of you made your way back to the house. “You can have whatever you want but you don’t have to say its poison” she giggled and shook her head.

“I learned that trick from your dad” he teased as he shot Jack a look.

“We were kids! Let it go!” He whispered, followed by an eye roll as he was slightly annoyed at the fact that Clay brought it up every Halloween.

“You ate every single one of my snickers, every year” he rolled his eyes back and you and his wife shared a laugh.

“Snickers are nasty anyway” Jade yawned as she woke up from her nap to hear her dad and uncle bickering.
