Ch. 1110 has me gnawing at the bars of my enclosure. Like obviously everything with the rest of the Gorosei showing up, but that scene between Zoro and Sanji?????

Sanji calling Zoro a burden/liability (depending on translation) feels so cruel and removed from their usual bickering. And I think it shows with how Zoro reacted. He doesn't fire back an insult, doesn't say ANYTHING to Sanji in response and instead just quickly finishes the fight with Lucci.

I desperately need something to come from this moment, and not have it just be played off as a gag. I need this to be something that sticks with Zoro - for a little while at least. First Lucci called him dead weight, which he just shrugged off. But then to have Sanji say a near identical thing with no indication of him joking clearly hit some kind of nerve. (I also don't think that this is the kind of thing Sanji would even joke about, considering his own past with being called a burden and a failure.) I need a confrontation between these two for this moment so bad.

Maybe we could finally get a Zoro centric arc that deals with his feelings of inadequacy. His feeling that he isn't strong enough, and the fact that instead of actually confronting that feeling has instead tried to bury it under hours upon hours of training.

And maybe we could also get some payoff on Zoro's promise to kill Sanji if he ever becomes a monster like his brothers. Because Sanji's cruel words could very much be hinting at him beginning to loose his emotions.

Gun Park x Reader: One Night

You and Gun are neighbours. Standalone bulked out for @razypie. Taken from a scene in neighbours outline that didn't make it (don't need to read).

Goo takes one look at the bags under Gun’s eyes and cackles.

“Good night?”

“...”

With a special someone?”

“...”

“With your neighbour?”

“No.”

That gets a response and Goo just grins harder.

“Oh my,” he chirps right into Gun’s ear, “Is our little Gun getting soft?”

No. Absolutely not. It's a trait Gun does not want. 

Something he can never be labelled with.

Pushing you to the back of his mind, Gun agrees without a second thought when Goo asked if he wanted to go to a club to see some pretty faces. Ignores the shame when he thinks about whatever it is that is blossoming between the two of you

"Isn't this much better instead of being stuck in all night?" Goo grins at Gun, swaying to the club music, arm around a stranger.

Gun can't bring himself to admit that no, this is not better. Not in the slightest.

Because at home, he would likely be spending time with you. Another evening of small talk in a doorway turned to mundane bliss together. 

Hoping for some much needed clarity, he gives his head a shake. He cannot afford to get attached, for you to be a weakness.

Throwing back the rest of his whisky with a hiss, Gun goes off in search of some company for the night and a name he won't remember in the morning.

A body grinds up next to him on the dance floor.

Voice, sultry and seductive, asks if he comes here often. Cliched lines for a cliched scenario, but it doesn't matter. Everyone knows why they're here.

Gun barely says anything, movements stiff and stilted, leans out of reach when they try to press their lips against his.

Offers up his place and his bed as consolation.

Leaves with a stranger pressed up against him.

He doesn't feel anything at all.

Gun strides into the shared hallway, the stranger following closely behind and giggling.

Just in time to see you leave your front door.

"Hey!" You smile at him-

Then registering the person behind, the stink of alcohol and the situation for what it is.

 The light dies in your eyes.

"Y/N-" For the first time that night, Gun feels something. Guilt writhing all over his body, under his skin, so much so that he wants to rip it off.

"Just going on a snack run!" The smile appears on your face again, fake and forced, your eyes tight as you look anywhere but at Gun. At the stranger now draping themselves all over him. "Umm. Excuse me." 

You duck around them and Gun desperately wants to grab on to you and tell you that it's not what you think.

 He can't bring himself to say anything and you don't look back.

Any appetite or craving you had died the minute you saw Gun.

Really, you know you have no right to feel this way. You and him are nothing on a bad day, barely friends on a good one.

He owes you nothing. 

Yet.

The evenings you started to spend together. The intimacy you're developing. The way he looks at you. You thought Gun felt the same way as you.

You circle the block for what feels like hours. Begging for the cool night breeze to clear your head. For the empty streets and the bright streetlights to take the churn in your stomach away.

It doesn't work.

Gun has waited for you, outside your door and dismissed the stranger the moment you left, got a 'fuck you' in return.

Had sat in the hallway, leaning against the wall, wondering what the hell he was doing.

What he had been doing for the last few weeks. But more than that.

What was he thinking tonight?

Your voice is strained, strangled.

"We didn't-" Gun starts, wondering if he wanted to finish that. To put the image in your head. "I sent them away."

"Right..." 

That fact does lighten your mood though your chest still hurts at seeing someone else all over him.

It's ridiculous though. You and Gun aren't anything.

"I hope it's not because of me-"

"Y/N." Gun cuts you off, standing up and brushing himself off. He looks at you, piercing and intense. Then, as if he's made up his mind, he reaches out for your hand.

You don't pull away.

"I've been described as soft by someone that has known me for longer than I want to think about when they saw me with you."

Gun stares at your hand, runs his thumb over your knuckles. Smooth, flawless, unscarred.

"It's dangerous for people in my line of work to be seen as soft. Weak. Tonight I tried to get rid of my weakness. It was a mistake."

He glances up and holds your gaze.

"I came to the realisation that I don't care about being soft when it comes to you."

Oh. You feel your face heat up at this confession and your pulse racing.

"Besides," the look on Gun's face changes as his other hand cups your cheek. A smile pulls at his lips. Toeing the line between confident and arrogance but incredibly sexy either way.

"I'm strong enough that it doesn't matter what anyone says."

Everyone knows how Leo has an obsession with being the best at something, right? And in the episode where they go into the Maze of Death for pizza Leo refuses to use his mystic powers just to get his face in the wall of champions, almost costing them their lifes (there was fire. Fire. And the walls were closing? You cannot tell me that they weren't going to die. Unless no one was meant to die and someone stopped the maze when they got too close to losing their lifes? I don't know.)

In that episode, Leo says “y'know, it would really help me if you guys said I was your champion”, to what the guys replied with “just open it!” (the portal), clearly refusing to do that. So, I had the thought (yeah what a surprise. Thinking. Haha) of Leo doing something reaally big. Maybe saving their lifes in a different way than he usually does? Perhaps it could be him tricking Big Mama to stop her from killing them.

Well, the point is, Leo did something really great, so the fam says “only for this occasion. We'll only say it once. We won't repeat it”. Leo's like “uhh sure? Okay go ahead”, and then they say something like “Leo, to thank you for saving us and blah blah blah. Anyways, we wanted to let you know that you're our champion” or something like that.

And Leo's like oh my God? Did they really just say that?? And he goes silent. Staring at them. He asks “are you serious? Is this genuine?” and Donnie affirms that it is, and if Donnie says it's true then it must be true because Donnie wouldn't joke about that, so Leo feels great, because his brothers actually called him their champion! And he's! So! Happy!! Because let's be honest. This is a boy with clear abandonment issues who seeks praise. He shows this in a different way than Donnie, but it's still true, so to hear them all seriously saying that is truly amazing for him.

The others are worried, because Leo isn't saying anything? He's not bragging or being annoying. He was silent, to the point where if he wasn't in front of them then they wouldn't even notice he was even there!

Then Leo starts crying. And everyone else is surprised because wow that is not how I expected this to go. And, of course, they're all worried, because Leo never cries for something that isn't a sad movie or comic.

So now we have a sobbing Leo and three panicking brothers who don't know what to do.

no cause I love Zoro’s portrayal of masculinity. He’s tough sure, but he’s level headed and emotionally intelligent. He sees women as equal but still holds back from injuring them heavily or killing them in fights. He drinks alcohol like it’s water but also likes his little tasty onigiris that Sanji makes. He protects all the time and doesn’t let anyone risk their lives for him, knows when to speak up, gives and takes orders well, takes care of his body (except the showering once a week part), always welcome people for a drink , and doesn’t fear dying for his ambitions or his friends.
