Honestly what frustrates me most about the CK fandom online is how they look at certain things with black and white "either/or" thinking.

The best demonstrations of this for me:

That scene in 4x08. When I try to tell people that Daniel was wrong to break Anthony's tablet and yell at him, and thus he owes Anthony an apology and a new iPad, their responses seem to suggest that they think stating that "the way in which Daniel punished Anthony was wrong" is the same thing as saying that "Anthony shouldn’t have been punished at all". In other words, "either you agree that Daniel’s punishment was justified/appropriate or you’re saying that Anthony shouldn’t have been punished at all". 🙄

Amanda grounding Sam in 1x09. Me saying Amanda had an obligation to let Sam call Miguel to let him know she was grounded is not me saying that Amanda shouldn’t have punished Sam, it's me saying that Amanda's choice of punishment was wrong (and said grounding was purely done for plot purposes 🤨).

Honestly people boiling characters in this show down to “good” or “bad” based on some missteps goes completely counter to the show’s premise 😂 the only characters who should get that kind of treatment are Kreese and Silver, since the way they’ve tormented kids for at least two generations is horrific no matter what their history is.

But as for the others? Everyone in this show has made mistakes! And we can hold them accountable for those mistakes and say “hey x wasn’t right, they should’ve done y instead” without demonizing them as bad characters.

About the Daniel was the villain commentary, people really forget that a character being a protagonist doesn't mean they're the good guy.
