if you’re hearing BREAKFAST by DOVE CAMERON playing, you have to know CLARISSA REYES (SHE/HER; CISGENDER WOMAN) is near by! the 32 year old CO-OWNER OF IGNITION KINGDOM/BOOK KEEPER has been in denver for, like, 10 YEARS. they’re known to be quite CALCULATING, but being FLEXIBLE seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble ADRIA ARJONA. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those oil stained ripped jeans, wayward curls, leather jackets, and broken promises vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the WaPa long enough!
details: death tw
Clarissa Reyes, known as Clary to a select few, was born and raised in NYC. For most of her childhood, Clary was surrounded by her mother's family. Her father's, though, was a complete mystery. She knew that her father hated them and they hated him, but the reason for the animosity was unknown to her.
Ten years ago, the family suddenly relocated to Denver, Colorado. Though it was where her father had grown up (and where, she knew, his family still resided) there was still little to no contact with the family. All that Clary knew was that her father and his business partner had decided to open an auto shop.
death tw Just over two years ago, Clarissa's father died. It was at this time that two things happened -- Clary inherited the Ignition Kingdom, the auto shop her father (her godbrother has moved to Denver in order to help co-own and run the business), and his business partner had opened, and she learned of her older half sister, Carly.
While Clary understands that what her father did to Carly all those years ago was awful, she finds it difficult to be empathetic and wants nothing to do with her newly discovered sister.
She's also recently discovered that not all of her father's business was above board. For some time, shop had been doubling as a chop shop, though he'd sworn his business partner and her godbrother to secrecy on this matter. Now that Clary knows this, she's determined to prove that she's fully capable of ensuring the survival of the business.

🍇 : how would my muse describe their childhood? how much has it impacted the person they are now, or will become as an adult? around what age did they or will they start to mature, and why? do they wish to go back to their days as a child, or have they embraced adulthood?
Malachi and Edgar both had troubled childhoods. Though they both grew up in wealthy households, their relationships with their caregivers were tumultuous. While Mal's mother adored him, she'd given birth when she was 17, and his grandparents never forgave Mal for seemingly ruining their only child's life. Edgar's father was abusive and his mother struggled with addiction which made her essentially absent as a caregiver. If he didn't have Alex, Edgar probably wouldn't have made it through his childhood.
Eli had a great childhood. He's the baby of the Loomis family and, even though he's nearly 30, they still dote on him. He's eternally grateful to his family for supporting him in his fatherhood journey.
Clary thought her childhood was great, but she's coming to learn that her father kept a lot of secrets, and that makes her question everything.
Rose and Leila have nothing to say of their childhoods. They were good and mostly uneventful.
Diego looks back at his childhood and can see how much it shaped him. His parents were undocumented for much of his life, and it's really made him who he is -- the kind of person who had to learn to take up space, who continually tries to do more and be more for himself and his family.

When the trope is a character that goes through hell and back to heal only to be mocked and berated by the fandom:
