I think Mulder’s maturation in the revival is perfectly encapsulated when juxtaposing the endings of Babylon (10x05) and Nothing Lasts Forever (11x09).

They poignantly show the progression of Mulder realizing the answers he needed were never in the sky but right in front of him.

In Babylon, when Scully is being vulnerable with Mulder, he gets distracted and withdraws from the moment, from her.

Contrastingly, in NLF, Mulder stands vulnerably in front of the eyes of her God and professes that, above all else, he is present for her. He listens.

In late December, USA Boxing released a new set of guidelines for the inclusion of trans competitors, and right-wing media responded by criticizing the regulations, relying on anti-trans tropes and misinformation in their coverage. GOP members of Congress have since introduced twin legislation that promises to ban all trans competitors from the Olympic and amateur levels in any sport, citing the new regulations as a motivating concern and repeating the anti-trans framing popularized by right-wing media's backlash.  

While the USA Boxing guidelines are a departure from a trend of sports organizations banning trans participation, the requirements are considered stringent. Athletes under the age of 18 must compete “as their birth gender,” and adult competitors are required to obtain genital surgery and regular hormone testing, both in the four years preceding competition and throughout any competitive period. Nevertheless, right-wing media are attacking the rules, which USA Boxing says build on the consensus of several medical groups and international athletic federations.  On January 3, Fox News' America's Newsroom co-host Dana Perino referred to the eligibility requirements for trans female boxers as “nonsense.” Hosts and guests repeatedly referred to trans women as “men” or “guys,” and co-host Bill Hemmer quoted former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines' claim that “it will take a woman getting killed before these misogynistic fools wake up.”   Fox’s Outnumbered also said a woman could die because of the new rules, arguing that the regulations would lead to “one-punch killings.” Co-host Harris Faulkner cited Gaines' campaign against the inclusion of trans swimmers, misgendering Gaines' former competitor Lia Thomas in the process and expanding the panel's criticism to trans inclusion in noncontact athletic competitions as well. 

Despite such concerns over safety, coverage disregarded USA Boxing's medical citations, which include the recommendations of Boston Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine and Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital. Instead, for instance, The Ingraham Angle platformed the perspective of UFC fighter Colby Covington, who argued that “it doesn't matter what their hormone levels or pronouns are,” because “when they dig up their bones in 200 years, their bones won't leave pronouns.” (Actually, archeologists are capable of imputing that a skeleton may have belonged to a transgender person after more than 200 years.) [...] USA Boxing responded to backlash by restating that it is in compliance with federal law. The following day, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced twin legislation in both the House and the Senate that would “prohibit any governing body recognized by the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) from allowing men to participate in any athletic event intended for females.” 

A joint press release cited the USA Boxing guidelines and repeated right-wing media's anti-trans framing. Tuberville's statement claimed that “men should not be competing in women’s sports at any level—and especially not in a sport like boxing. Whether in little league or the Olympics, it’s unsafe, it’s unfair, and it’s just plain wrong. This bill will ensure that the Olympics are fair to American women who train their whole lives to represent our country on the world stage.”   The press release also cited the support of a number of anti-trans organizations, including the Alliance Defending Freedom, the Independent Women's Forum, and the Independent Council on Women’s Sports and quoted several anti-trans figures, including American Principles Project President Terry Schilling and — yet again — Riley Gaines. 

Right-wing media pundits, led by anti-trans grifter Riley Gaines, is leading the backlash against USA Boxing's trans-inclusive policy.

anyways, so far as some of tim's canon christmases go:

batman 455-456. his mom's funeral on christmas eve. technically you can say he spent this one with his parents! also, interesting timing for this. rite of passage is implied to take place over tim's summer break, but also this would mean that poor janet had to wait until december to get buried. if we place rite of passage more in winter/fall and closer to the burial, their postcard home indicates that they might be planning on coming home for the holidays. they say they'll call when they get back, which could just mean that they're planning on calling to check in with tim at boarding school upon their arrival and let him know they made it back okay (which is something my parents do when they get back from vacation too). no actual indication that they're going to immediately leave or not spend time with tim at all after they've returned. if you place this closer to the christmas where janet gets buried and assume tim is on a fall break of some sort, then you can assume they would be home for the holidays.

robin 3. tim's on christmas break. he does not spend it with his dad on account of his dad has been kidnapped. we can't actually blame jack for this one, this one wasn't actually his fault.

dcu holiday bash 3. jack and dana are stuck in chicago on account of weather, which isn't their fault, but they also chose to go away for a trip without tim right before christmas which kind of is their fault. however their intention was to be home for the holidays with tim at least so it's not like they specifically planned to do this to him. this is where i think the idea that tim was always alone from the holidays, because he does tell himself to "get used to it, boy whiner" indicating it may have happened in the past but he also says that normally on christmas he's not normally on rooftops with nothing else to do so

batman: legends of the dark knight 126. tim is shown to be at home for christmas dinner with his dad prior to returning to no man's land, so jack is home for this one.

undetermined one i cannot find the citation for but i can picture in my head. jack mentions getting tim skis for christmas recently, implied that they did celebrate the holiday together at some point.

anyways i'm going to die on the hill of there's no actual canon evidence that jack and janet chose to miss all holidays and tim's birthdays. jack is shown before his death spending holidays with tim when he could and getting him presents and such. it's basically possible (and likely) that they did at least try to time their returns home at times of the year that would prioritize important dates like this, even if they shouldn't have been traveling so much.

For the average “scratch is my favorite character” specimen there are multiple stages one goes through (authors note, moving to a further stage does not get rid of the effects of a previous stage)

Stage 1: “omg he’s such a cute and funny blorbo” this is the first signs of a Scratchian developing, as opposed to the normal fan which just sees scratch as funny these people will also see him as cute. There also might be some slight emotional connections or empathy, they are still curable at this stage but treatment must begin right away by having them watch hamster and gretel on repeat, it is a painful process however in the long run can save patients much trauma.

Stage 2: “I can fix him” this stage can be skipped in certain however it shows up in many. In this stage the specimen starts to feel an attraction to scratch, it won’t seem like much at first but can quickly take hold, unfortunately this has led to the thriving scratch McGee r34 scene (see citations)

Specimens will also start to take interest in other Dana Snyder works.

Stage 3: Cried at soda

This stage is when there is no longer a cure for a patient. They have seen a soda to remember and have now permanently attached themselves to scratch, some specimens attach earlier but this is solidifies it further for all. Specimens may become emotional when thinking about scratch, their thoughts will slowly turn to him through their day to day lives, this can rapidly lead to the next stage, which has serious effects

Stage 4: the “can’t sleep thinking about scratch/dissects every line for backstory/ devotes a significant amount of brain space to him

In this phase the specimen will likely have mood swings, personality changes, obsessiveness, loss of sleep, and even break down crying at the thought of scratch going through something, in this phase the specimens friends and family may start to notice, the specimens assume that no one can tell, oblivious to how long they spend daydreaming about the blue man.

O kako mrzim rastanke, životna fobija mi je bespomoćno posmatranje iz daljine kako se u trenutku obrušavaju zidovi nečega što me je držalo na optimalnom nivou življenja.

Konture ostavljenih će blijedjeti do konačnog nestanka i to je skroz prirodno ali lažna obećanja ostaju kao ožiljci koji se ne mogu zaliječiti.

O kada bi svi ljudi skupili muda i trčali u susret budućnosti i bili malo iskreni, ovakvih tekstova ne bi ni bilo. Kako smo jučer bili nešto što danas želimo da više nismo?

Ne, ne živimo danas u takvom vremenu kao što mnogi mislite jer svjedoci toga su Dučići, Selimovići, Šantići, Krleže i drugi. Čovjek je uvijek bio zaključan u ambalaži koja prezire svoj sadržaj, gdje je laž nova istina a ljubav samo citat, ali čovjek ti je teški hajvan i ono malo duše što ima, šejtan mu je dao da mu bude teže.

Ja sad živim kao da mi fali pola tijela, a ti Lažo negdje cijela.
