Re last rb i really do not care for how everyone makes cissie High Femme and super preppy bc cassie is butch (to us) so obviously cissie has to be the opposite. Yea sure she wore that skirt and has long hair. So i guess her entire personality has to become the pretty lesbian in that one lesbian ship and she loses all her competence and bite

I have a question about your sizes: I usually wear a size 6/MD in most bottoms, and with my body shape my thighs and butt carry most of my visible weight. Would you recommend the size A, or size B?
I'm a similar size and shape, and I wear A Size!
I'd definitely recommend getting A especially if you plan to put much at all in the pockets (a more snug waistband won't slip down at all even with heavy stuff in the pockets), but go up to B if you prefer a looser fit and/or if you want a slightly longer skater or mini.

this was the first time i really messed with pattern matching and you can see in the closeup on the front and back i didnt get it quiiite perfect but i'm still very very proud of my work here. the purple-ribbon-as-buttonholes idea i came up with because i wasnt confident in my ability to cut/sew/finish buttonholes at the time
i drafted the whole thing from scratch after seeing something similar on the cover of a 50s pattern online. the original had a tie but i really don't like this one. the top is a halter cut on the bias and the bottom is circle skirt with four pockets in the side seams (a smaller pair near the waist and one larger pair a bit lower). the 'hem' of the skirt is really just the selvege edge and the center front is open (the original was for a 'beach cover up' --i dont swim but i do show off my legs so it works). the top is lined in a purple polyester satin and the bottom in a matching b&w gingham chiffon (also poly). unfortunately for me i made this before i realized polyester gives me major sensory problems as it starts to break down ::charlie brown grownup noise::
i love this dress (it's my go to at home date outfit bc it's so comfy over a giant silk buttondown) but i would like it to fit better and be more wearable--it's gotten really really tight--so i might size the pattern up and make it from some of the muslin stash (which is about half actual muslin/half sheets). i would set the pockets in a little better as well, and make it without the tie at center front

i am actually considering buying cheap paper envelopes in bulk to store my custom patterns in
mostly because it would be a giant pain in the ass to actually make envelopes out of the plain paper i already have. gluing the flaps by hand in a tidy way without gluing the whole inside together just seems like a nightmare
(and also i'm absolutely not paying the inflated non-bulk prices for paper envelopes are you serious)
#stfu blue#reborking is prohibited#the question is. if i do this. how many do i actually Need.#they come in 25 packs on this one site i'm looking at#i'd rather have some extra if i'm not sure but like. i don't want to buy 4x 25-packs or smth & THEN realize i only need 19 envelopes u kno?#i completely do not know how i want to do this#i have only just realized Today that oh. fuck. i'm gonna need envelopes to store my patterns in huh#if i just shove them all in a drawer all the pieces will get intermixed & damaged and that is just not happening okay. i am not doing that#but do i want to store two 'sibling' versions of a block in one envelope or two?#how many blocks am i even planning to make? how many garments can i get out of how many blocks? how many variants does each block need?#do i want to store different design element patterns together with the blocks they're made for... or separately?#these are the kinds of questions i need to work out the answers to in order to know how many envelopes i need#i need at least... knit shirt/dress block (has 2 major variants). button-up shirt/dress block (has 2 major variants/lots of sub-variation).#jeans block. soft knit pants block. non-stretch slacks block. circle skirt blocks maybe? definitely a jacket block... waistcoat block too#do i need a separate sweater block or can i just up-size my knit shirt block slightly when i make sweaters?#i'll need a separate block for overcoats... does that include the raincoat i'm planning to do? should a raincoat just get A Solo Pattern?#good grief. okay. i'm seriously gonna have to like. sit down and have A Proper Think. make a List. all that.
