Chicken Liver is a character from Sam and Friends. He is an abstract humanoid character with a tall head and a big nose. A feature in the August 15, 1959 edition of The Northern Virginia Sun, in which the Hensons were in the midst of creating a new Muppet, refers to the character as Theodore (the same article calls Harry the Hipster, "Arry").

According to Jim Henson's Designs and Doodles, Chicken Liver "was a dramatic storyteller who believed that Sam and Friends lacked culture (much like Sam the Eagle from The Muppet Show). He promised to enrich the show with classical literature, including such epic stories as The Three Little Pigs."

Chicken Liver's appearances include the Sam and Friends segments "Powder-Burn," "The Westerners," and "Poison to Poison." He also appeared on The Today Show on April 10, 1961 lipsynching to "Yes! We Have No Bananas" with Kermit.

Jane Henson said at MuppetFest that Chicken Liver was one of her favorite characters. When Sam and Friends ended, she and Jim kept the puppet in their home, and it had to be significantly repaired before being donated to The Smithsonian Institution.

Yung pagod ko pang 3 weeks na ata. After work, hindi pa nga ako nakakatayo mula sa harap ng computer, tinawag na ako. Ni-summon ako sa kusina. Hindi raw sila marunong magluto ng atay na may puso ng manok. Syempre tayo naman ako agad. Gustong gusto ko kasi talaga na ako magluluto pero ayaw ko magbida-bida kaya kapag sila lang nagsasabi na magluto ako, dun lang ako nagluluto. Hinati ko sa dalawa, isa adobo tas isa naman ginisa sa beans and celery. Yung adobo atay, nanay style ulit pagkakaluto with apo's tlc. Tinuyo ko lang maigi para kumapit yun lasa. Tas yun sa ginisa nman, style ko na kasi di ko bet yun version nila. Approved naman sa mga kapatid ko, tas yun adobong yobab ko kaninang tanghali, napa-extra rice pa si bunso lol.

Pero dun ako napagod sa paghuhugas ng mga kinainan at pinaglutuan. Potek pati kinainan nila nung tanghali sakin pa pinahugas.

Chicken liver boiled in cocoa (cooking)

Place the chicken liver in a thermal cooking pot soaked in saline and natural salt, sprinkle with cocoa powder, add a few slices of ginger, two yegoma leaves (chopped), and garam masala, and start the cooking process. After cooking, set aside and sprinkle with garam masala and cloves. Soft and odorless.

Note: I added cocoa to deodorize it, but there was no trace of it left, so I didn't know how effective it was.

生理的食塩水、天然塩を浸した保温調理鍋に鶏レバーを入れ、ココアの粉をまぶし、生姜切り身数個、yegomaの葉2枚（切り刻んだもの）、ガラムマサラを入れ、調理工程に入る。調理後、取り分けてガラムマサラ、クローブを振る。柔らかくて、臭みがない。

注：ココアは消臭のため入れたが、跡形もなくなり、効果のほどは解らなかった。
