Alright, first request of mine on this blog:

Working from the prologue, how would Yae Miko, Ei, and Kirara react when they first see you?

(Non-related to the request, but I bet I'm gonna be the only one here that's not an Anon haha)

Oh nice, my first request! I'll do these separately, and in headcanons! Also, perhaps, but we'll see if this blog becomes popular or not hehe :3

Read this prologue for context!

Scenario: Meeting reader after he appears in Teyvat

Characters: Yae Miko, Ei, Kirara

Once she catches sight of someone without clothes from Teyvat out of nowhere, she's the first to make a logical connection to the divine, and take you somewhere safe. She won't ask many questions, not until she can ensure that the two of you are nice and private.

While in the outside she might look composed and serious, inside she's definitely nervous. She hasn't been in the presence of someone of such divine nature apart from Ei in so long, and she needs to ensure both your safety and well-being.

Once she sees you being receptive to her commands though, and calm once you're in the safety of her closed off shrine however, she relaxes, and begins asking questions, to ensure her assumptions of course. She can't get too carried away yet, even if you do know her name, and recognized her at first sight...

You've never seen Miko with such a serious glint in her eye apart from the archon quest, and seeing it up close is, frankly, a little terrifying. You don't know how it happened, or why you're here at all, so you can't help but worry.

That's when she catches sight of your golden blood, and you can see her eyes starting to sparkle with excitement, her shoulders relaxing from their tense posture, and her tail starting to sway more freely...

"... I'm sorry, oh divine one... Hm, no titles? Very well. I couldn't be sure of what I saw, not when I've seen my fair share of trickery and deceit through the centuries... I promise, you have my full trust now. Now, let's put that stuffy atmosphere behind us."

Let's be honest, Ei hasn't seen much of the present Teyvat, and as such has lost a grip on the culture, especially foreign culture. So when she sees your clothing, she imagines that you're just a traveler. Perhaps she should make a proper first appearance...

As soon as she approaches however, you exclaim her name with happiness, which she immediately causes her to do a second take. How did you know about her name, and not her title? Her eyes shrink, and her mind becomes easily confused.

That's when you show the golden drops of blood, and Ei's mind explodes. All this time, she believed that she would never get a chance to see you in a physical form, and you can see her eyes shaking with so many emotions...

She takes you away to the Plane of Euthymia, for your own safety she says, but as there's the tiniest shaking in her voice, you can't help but suspect it's actually to help her calm down and have some private time with you.

You have to be a little patient with her. There's so much going on in her mind from all those years she's been alive and has only been able to confide in Miko, and she knows you've learnt about it through the others. You wait for her to calm down, and sometimes, even tell her to take deep breaths before continuing.

Once she's calm though, she'll get right to business, thinking about a way to keep you safe, and cared for, while ensuring that the rest of Inazuma is aware of your descent. After all, what better way to revitalize her region than showing her the truth in their beliefs?

"You... Are alright with these arrangements, correct? Very well, then it's settled. Once again, welcome to Inazuma, the land that has never once forgotten you... I'm glad you show such enthusiasm, and frankly, I think I am just as excited."

Kirara probably caught sight of you as she was stretching herself before another delivery. She's quite busy, so it's easier for her to focus on others once off the clock. Once she sees you though, she can't help but be a little cautious, yet curious.

In all of the regions she's visited for deliveries, she's never seen clothing like yours... Soon enough, she's slowly creeping up on you, eager to see who exactly you were! Her steps are quite silent, so it isn't exactly hard to do so.

Much like Ei, she starts talking to you as if you were just a foreigner, but just like Miko, she starts asking a lot of questions! Hers are more casual than the kitsune's however, with an excited pep to her voice.

When you show her the golden drops of blood, at first she's confused, and doesn't make the immediate connection to the rumors of the creator, thanks to them being only present in Inazuma, and her not spending much time there thanks to work.

Once she does however, she lets out the loudest gasp you've heard ever, and her eyes sparkle intensely! Her questions immediately double in speed and amount, and you have to calm her down, which can be a little complicated once she gets into another tangent.

Once she stops, she realizes that since you're from another realm, you must not have a home in Inazuma! So she decides to take you back to her home for the time being, so you may feel free to leave anytime!

"Ah, I wasn't really expecting any guests anytime soon, but you can have the spare room! Now, I won't be here much, but I promise I'll try to take less orders for now!... Unless you want me to take a vacation for you?"

[CN] Kiro's Absolute Match Mind's Quest (Part 2)

[CHAPTER 5]

After successfully communicating with the organizer of the charity match, I shared the news with Kiro that I was going to join the cheerleading team.

Of course, he was surprised and delighted. We agreed to supervise each other and continue our "hellish training".

There were more fulfilling things to do in the long summer. While the exercises were obviously boring, they made my mood warm up every day.

In the blink of an eye, it was the day the baseball game started.

MC: Savin, have you seen Kiro?

Savin: He seems to have been called to the other side. Do you want me to find him?

He walked quickly through the crowd and came to me, his eyes full of amazement.

Kiro: Today you, you....

MC: How is it? Youthful, right?

I smiled, raised my pompom and struck a pose.

Kiro: Very youthful!

Kiro: I can't believe you actually hid such a cute appearance and are only showing it to me now. No wonder you refused to let me come watch you rehearse yesterday.

MC: Hehe, of course the surprise must be discovered on the same day the surprise is happening!

MC: Originally, I wanted to wait a little longer and let you see it during the performance, but I was afraid that it would be too late to perform the ritual for you.

Kiro: Ritual?

MC: Did you forget?

I took out the prepared marker, took his hand, and wrote my name one stroke at a time on the inside of his wrist.

After the lively opening ceremony, the music sounded again.

MC: Three, two, one, GO!

The girls on the cheerleading team jumped briskly onto the sports field with neat steps.

Almost instantly, I locked onto those pair of eyes I wanted to see most in the sea of spectators.

Blue, bright, and only mine.

Whether I was jumping, catching a throw, or even turning my back, I could clearly feel that line of sight firmly locked on me.

My heart felt as full, as if it was filled with air, but my body was lighter than the clouds.

I suppressed my laughter and watched the two teams shake hands with each other.

The other members of the cheerleading team all left the field, leaving me the only one still standing on the field. Kiro looked at me with slight confusion.

At that moment, the referee handed the baseball to me.

Referee: Please kick-off the game, miss.

MC: Okay.

Kiro: .....!!

Hmph, how unexpected!!

If there were a comic-like dialog box above my head at this moment, it might have been an extremely big and extremely gorgeous dialog box that I could show off to everyone.

Kiro: Chat's over, old classmate. Now, you have to be careful.

Kiro: Because I won't let her down.

Kiro: Today's victory will belong only to "us".

[CHAPTER 6]

Two minutes to go.

I clenched the marker in my hand and looked at the bathroom door anxiously.

A light whisper of wind tickles your skin and you close your eyes, concentrating on sounds around you. At this moment, you can hear everything, even the small sounds of animals in the forest, but your main goal was to hear footsteps of one particular person.

And here he is - your target seeming to approach with inaudible and careful steps. Probably, he doesn't know you're here, as such a habit of silent walking was inherent in all ninja. That means you have a great chance to attack, and, with a muffled small sigh, you jump from the tree in the foliage of which you were hiding.

Well, maybe you just get a little bit bold.; Or the thought that you finally would be able to catch your elusive enemy boils your blood more than it should. But as soon as you attack him, ready to knock the ninja out, he unexpectedly has a good reaction and repels all the prepared attacks.

"Oh, it's you again!" - without any fear but more with teasing, your opponent moves closer. - "And I wondered why you didn't bother me for so long, s/o..!"

"Kuko! Don't think it's just a game.." - like a light wind before, you almost fade away, gracefully jumping back from him and his smug face, quickly and softly.

"Hehe, you're the one who's turning it all to a game." - a sudden giggle behind your back almost makes your trained to always be calm heart skip a beat.

You turn just to see his big grin again, ready to punch but he once again parries the blow.

"Ugh.. You could have disappeared again before I even turned around, then why you-"

"Just wanna see your angry face again, my lady.." - his jokes always annoy you, but you start to pay less attention to such tickling words, knowing how much your reaction amuse him.

"I'm not your lady. I'm a well trained ninja, and don't think that if I go easy on you all this time, then my skills wouldn't be enough to actually end your life.." - you mumble, furrowing your brows, but Kuko quickly interrupts you.

'Well trained? I thought well trained ninjas never show their emotions or something, do they?" - slowly drawling his words, he keeps looking right at your face with his smug one. Ugh, just how much you want to kick him again.

"I'm also not showing my-"

"Your cheeks are red."

For a moment you both froze - you from shock and he just admired your priceless reaction. Your hand dashed to touch your face just to actually feel unusual warmth on smooth skin.

"Am I embarrassed of you?" - another coo from his side makes you turn your wishes into actions and you attack him again. Maybe this time not that calculating, but you can't help with controlling this burning feeling he arises in you.

With a pretty loud thud you both fall into grass, as you pin him to the ground, finally able to catch Kuko off guard. Or do you? As his smile just got bigger.

"You only embarrass yourself with such an attitude.." - you scoff, thinking how exactly you should knock him out. Watching him laying under you with such a smirk makes you experience mixed feelings, so you decided to get this over with as soon as possible.

But some laugh was the only response to your words, as Kuko suddenly grasped your waist and pushed you down, changing positions.

"Catch you~" - he grinned triumphantly, before leaning closer. - "Interesting, what reward would I get for catching one of the best kunoichi, hmm?"

"The only thing you would receive it's just some proper lesson!" - your hands grasp his shoulders as you quickly lift yourself in an attempt to head-butt him.

Yet at this moment his own hands quickly cup your face, changing the angle you wanted to hit him with. At this point, it almost looks like you were the one who leaned closer, pulling him into some quick kiss, and Kuko quickly turned it into a more steady one.

"Sorry, I decided to choose something more pleasurable from you, hehe!"

"Ah! Y.. you're such a jerk!" - this time you actually weren't able to control your emotions at all, feeling how your cheeks slowly got even hotter.

"What are you talking about? Your eyes is much more truthful than you are, s/o." - the fact that he keeps his hands on your face while saying that makes everything even worse, as you can't even turn away to calm down your fast beating heart. Oh, okay.. If he wanted to play like that..

"Huh.. Don't think you're the only one who can act all cocky here.." - as you also still hold his shoulders, it was easy to bring him closer again, this time to actually press your lips to his, in a more harsh and long kiss.

Just.. Why did you decide to do it? Aren't there some good ways to escape from such a situation, just like you were taught..? But the surprising warm softness of his lips makes this burn in your chest get fired up more, and you really wanted to understand why.

"Mh.. Ha, what a tease you can be, huh.." - he mumbled when your lips pulled away for a second, before leaning closer again. Oh, did your bratty enemy start acting needy? As you can feel how his hands slowly lowered to your waist, grasping your sides in some firm, tickling manner.

"Hear now the pot blackguarding the kettle.." - a small chuckle escapes your chest as you look at his much softened gaze. Did you actually have the same expression on your face right now? - "But don't think it means our war has ended.."

"Oh yeah? Then I'm looking forward to what you would use next time to catch me off guard.." - Kuko smirk, lips are within a breath of distance. - "Take note, this should be something more than such naughty kisses, s/o.."

Scaramouche (Wanderer) x Reader

This is an occurence after the Archon Quest in Sumeru

An AU where he lost his memories

It was after the traveler and Nahida defeated Scaramouche. He fell unconsious for weeks and in those weeks, you would from time to time visit and help Nahida care for him. You were in your abode when he woke up, though he was not with you but instead he was in the care of Nahida. When Scaramouche – or should I say, the Wanderer – awoke, Nahida explained some stuff to him, not about his past though, she thought that was better for now. She explained only enough to make things make sense for him. While talking, she mentioned your name, that you took care of him aswell.

Days passed and you were aware of the fact that he was finally awake, Nahida went to you with him and introduced him to you properly and on that day you developed a friendship with him.

You were bored and didn't know what to do, until he popped up on your mind and decided to go and find him. He often spent time alone wandering around Sumeru City or doing nothing while Nahida helps out other people. There was this one place he told you he liked and would spend most time in so you decided that place was where you would go to first. Luckily, he was there, sitting alone and seeming to be lost in thought.

You slowly approached him, greeting him with a "hey" as you sat beside him. "Do...you need anything?" he asked. "No," you said in response, "just wanted to spend some time with you, anything wrong with that?" "Huh? Oh! The great Y/n wants to spend time with me! I'm honored to be in your prescence my Almight Queen!" he said using sarcastic tone. You looked at him, one eyebrow raised. You slowly got up to go, "You know what, nevermind" you said with furrowed eyebrows. "W-wait no! haha- I was just- pfft I was- HAHAHA- kidding, hehe, you should've seen the look on your face! Now- hah- sit back down pft- please." You obliged and sat back down, looking at the ground while the two of you were silent.

You wanted to talk and spend time with him, yes, you even thought about what to talk about and played a conversation in your head but now that you were actually here, sat beside him, you completely forgot about all of that, you didn't know what to talk about. He sat, looking at you with curiousity, "So, what do you wanna do? Anything planned?" You forgot what you wanted to do and/or talk about.

"How about.. we just talk? How was your day? What did you do today?" That was how you decided the conversation would go, with the simple how was your day, silently hoping it would lead somewhere. "My day was fine, it went like any other day. I took a walk around Sumeru City today, people were giving me this strange looks, as if they knew me, they've always been giving me these looks, now that I think of it, the looks they were giving me.. it was as if they were scared of me. I remember Nahida mentioning something about my past, Y/N, please tell me, do you know anything about this?" "Yes," you answered, unsure of whether or not you should tell him. You stared at the ground thinking, you decided it is best not to tell him as it has not been a very long time since he has awoken, you're not sure how he would take this. Maybe in the future, you would tell him, or maybe Nahida would. If neither, then on his own? "but it's best I don't tell you, it might be too hard for you, I'm sorry" you continued finally having decided on what to say.

"I deserve to know, don't I? I mean, it's MY life, my past! You can't just keep MY past a secret from me, tell me." he said, angry and confused, he wanted to know why people were giving him those looks and why you are looking at him like that, did he do something bad? Something so terrible that whenever he went in a room, it would go silent, if not, then murmurs! What exactly did he do? He wanted to know if he could fix this. "No, please trust me, it's best if you did not know why and what happened, maybe in the near future you'll figure it out, but for now, please, don't try anything." You told him.

He looked at you for a second then at the ground. "If you're so keen on not letting me know then.. okay. I trust you, I just can't stand those stares, I'm sorry for the sudden outburst" You looked at him with symphathy, he looked back at you. "Please don't look at me like that, you look stupid you know.." he said in a teasing voice. "Oh- so I'm guessing you aren't mad at me?" You smiled at him. "oH sO Im GuEsSiNg YoU aReNt MaD aT Me?" he responded, mocking you "of course not dumbass, heh if you think it's for the best then I trust you. but uh.. can you atleast tell me a bit? like why they look at me like.. they're scared of me?" he asked. "No," you said frowning at him. "Eh, it was worth a try."

"Oh yeah, there's this new restaurant that has opened recently, have you heard of it?" asked he. Yes, you've heard of it, in fact, you were thinking of going there someday so you instead took this opportunity to go there today, with him. He agreed to go with you, saying, "Yeahh, I'd love to go with you, last one there is a rotten egg!" as he slowly got up to run, you too, got up to run and tried to catch up to him. He was.. childish, but that is one of the reasons why you liked him, his personality.

He got there first, he didn't seem to be tired, you were catching your breath, finally outside the restaurant and about to go in. "Loser," he said as he closed one of his eyes and stook his tongue out. "Let's just go in already," you said, hungry and you also heard the food there was absolutely amazing so you were excited to taste the food.

I saw your post about your planned works for 2023! Ngl I may end up stealing that idea (if it's alright with you). Maybe putting the word out that I'm working on things will give me the motivation to finish HAHA. I'm excited for your Gorou one! o3o

Your answer got the darkest themes was really interesting though! With the push for everything to be like... idk. Moral? A lot of more sensitive topics get pushed to the side bc we don't want to seem like we condone those things even though we find them interesting to explore and write about. It kinda sucks at times. That being said. That first one is one I'd never be able to write. LOL Not because of my personal feelings on the matter, but because I'd be writing it like, "If they just COMMUNICATED, this WOULDN'T have HAPPENED." Miscommunication/lack of communication is my pet peeve. LOL Granted, it's not always that simple, alas, I oversimplify things uwu

((Also the funny thing abt the third one. I actually have a non dark fic abt something similar. For shock factor, something sorta similar ends up happening in the fic, but you find out that the person/reader has been consenting to it for literal years. It's an Albedo fic lol. Idk how I'm gonna post it tho bc I'll probably have to make a cw, but idk how I'm gonna do that while also conveying the message that it's a completely PG story))

I write my stories the same way though. Like I have a general idea of what I want to happen, but I need to write everything chronologically. When I can't write the next part, the story ends up stuck in the shelf for months... Or sometimes I don't know what to write next so I write multiple routes and then everything gets mixed up lol

You're very diligent with getting into character's heads though! I kinda do the same with my research, but I don't have a written psychoanalysis of them. I mentally compare them with my experiences irl with ppl, etc, and then use that to make assumptions. As for voice, when I'm thinking of making them say something, I try to imagine the VA saying it. If I can't hear it, I change the wording. LOL

I'm looking much forward to Kaveh's release though!!! I want to see what he's like away from Alhaitham. Seeing him in Alhaitham's story quest just made me... sad. But take your time playing it! Also no worries on replying to my long replies too! LOL I can only reply when I'm mentally ready which sometimes takes weeks haha... Or like you, after I've done the appropriate research. Like I still need to reply to that ask you sent a while back. Still trying to figure out how to word myself at one part.....

feel free to share with ur your wips! i'm not the first to do it, and i LOVE reading people's wips. something about seeing it grow to its final form... (emotional). can't wait to see what you'll be giving us for 2023, hehe.

i think another reason why writing of such themes is not prevalent is because (1) it's mentally draining to write, (2) it's hard to gauge a stranger's threshold for such things, and most importantly (3) people who write fanfiction are just here to see their favourite characters in scenarios they like—for tooth-rooting fluff or gut-destroyer angst.

but, yeah, it sucks that people assume you support such things just because you write them. personal take is that writing is powerful because, if an author plays their cards right, it makes you think. it's a great way to explore the grey areas of life. can be very dangerous if consumed thoughtlessly though.

i scream at miscommunication when the thing that happens as a result of it doesn't do anything to move or develop a character. just. drama. i believe that's what ruined the love triangle trope for many? correct me if i'm wrong, lol. but as much as i find the trope annoying too, i have my own fair share of miscommunication. (at least it gives me character growth, LOL.)

a rating tag will definitely help. marking it as teens and up or mature with cw is already a warning that the fic heavily deals with the themes, but if it was pg i would assume it's just a brief mention. (can't wait to read it... even if i know about the shock factor so it's not shocking anymore, haha)

LOL the alternate endings... so true. right now my cyno fic has 3 routes. thankfully, i've narrowed it to 1... the problem is the scenes needs to be re-arranged with the scene i've not written being the introductory scene. if that's the case, i might as well rewrite the whole thing, right? (my brain doesn't work normally, help). on the bright side, i can say i wrote a lot this year, lmao.

i like the idea of comparing characters with your personal experiences! i saw you compare kaveh and alhaitham's relationship with your own, and that was so mind-boggling. it gives a unique spin to each character. (adopting your headcanon, sdfds)

thank you for your compliment, though i can't say i've been diligently jotting down notes. i only have cyno's for the longfic i plan to write for him. you gave a nice tip for writing dialogue. will think about it for my next fic except... sometimes i think about their dialogue in chinese-ish sounds, and then i don't really know how to translate it, HAHA.

if kaveh is a 4* star i'll cry because my luck with them is horrible. (i only got gorou last patch. unforgivable.) i hope he gets a hangout. i want to know what he does in his spare time, on his understanding of kindness, etc. you're right we should get more kaveh development outside of alhaitham. so far, he's just been That Character that sells alhaitham.

Every time you leave, Nightowl lays on his bed for what feels like hours, unable to fall asleep. He can still smell you on the pillows around him, and he closes his eyes and pictures you next to him. Imagines that you actually wanted to sleep over and let him cook you breakfast in the morning

He throws an arm over his eyes and grits his teeth. I know you are. I really, really am very aware of that fact. Of course he never says that to you. He just smiles and nods. Says he's looking but hasn't found anyone yet.

There's only you. There's only ever going to be you.

When sleep does finally come, it's full of dreams of you slipping from him and falling into the arms of people who aren't him. He can't look away as he sees you do everything you did with him to someone else. And you look happier doing it.

When he wakes up on mornings after you've visited, it's always to a tear-stained pillow that no longer smells like you. And then the waiting game begins again for you to contact him first.

This is okay. This is what he wanted, right?

Your offer to Xyx is met with a laugh. And here he was, about to pour his heart out to you.

He rejects you on the spot. "No thanks, doll." You ask for a reason why out of curiosity and he gives you some half-thought out answer that he forgets immediately after saying it.

But you accept it. Of course you do. You trust him so, so much. Your pretty eyes look a little sad when he gathers his keys and he clenches his jaw.

"You're sure, right?" he asks. At your confused expression, he continues, "That you just want fwb, right? That's what you want?"

"Yes...?"

He knows that will only make his life a living hell if he accepted that. He smiles, nods, and walks away.

When he starts up his bike, he can't help but look back at the bar. There you are, still at the counter, twirling your straw in your drink forlornly. Wearing that stupidly beautiful outfit.

He looks away and drives off.

Quest... accepts the arrangement. It's perfect for his insecurity that you'd run if you get too close. You don't get close enough for that to be a risk, so... perfect.

What he didn't anticipate though was how much he wanted to be closer. After the sixth time you visited, after you'd been chatting for months, he almost slipped out that forbidden three letter phrase. It was surprising even to himself.

You'd told him very firmly and repeatedly you were not going to pursue anything romantic with him, though. He curses himself for not fighting you on that on that time. Damn it.

Every time you step out of the shower, or laugh, or brush your hands through your hair in that way you do when you're thinking too hard, he takes a mental photograph. Tucks it away in his vault of perfect memories of you.

Because, someday this has to end. Someday you'll find someone who fits you, who you won't be embarrassed to walk around with.

And he already knows it won't ever be him.

So, until that day, he'll save as many memories as he can. Hold you as tight as allowed. Just until then.

Toasty doesn't accept. He immediately rejects it. He's not one for casual hookups -- he's not sure he has enough confidence in himself anyway for that lifestyle.

He's happy that you look at little sad, but also depressed that you don't look sad enough. Another reminder that he wants someone more than they want him. This is why it's better to not say anything.

He offers to drive you home from the dinner and is relieved when you decline. You have something to do afterwards.

When you finally leave the restaurant and he's left alone at the table, he orders their most expensive dessert and a small glass of wine.

That.. sucked. But he's been through worse. Time to cheer himself up a bit.

Why Sherlock Holmes FGO is Sus: Theories and More

Before I begin, I’d like to give thanks to my wonderful friend for all the points, art, and info searching that have been made to produce this piece, I can’t appreciate you enough for the effort you put in. 🥺🙏💕

Alright now on to it!

INTRODUCTION: Humble Beginnings (Identification of the Abnormal)

If you’ve played the app Fate/Grand Order for a while you’d know about the Heroic Spirit we first encounter in a hole within Camelot’s dessert whilst going to the Atlas Institute. Smart, handsome looking, and sharp enough to discern our True Name, this man of mystery has been seen as an oddball by many long time players of the game. There are many aspects about him that raise doubt about his credibility, is he truly what he wants us to think he is? That servant is Sherlock Holmes (Ruler) and there are many theories about him having some secrets, about him either being a Foreigner class, Beast class, or something else entirely. We are attempting to catalogue all this information in one place for maximum clarity.

SECTION 1: Other Character’s Reaction (First Impression is the Best Impression) *WARNING LOSTBELT 1 AND 2 SPOILERS AHEAD*

From the first encounter in Camelot right until the end of Lostbelt 2, there are many instances of characters reacting to his presence in….interesting ways.

Bedivere, when first coming in contact with Holmes in Camelot says that "I suppose I've never really been good with people like him. He reminds me of Merlin."

It could refer to the mysterious manner in which both Holmes and Merlin conduct themselves, but better to keep in mind that Merlin is a Grand Caster, and that he manifests as a servant due to specific circumstances (he is not dead).

In Camelot, Mash assumes that Holmes must be Caster class and that the original novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle must have been biographies penned by Dr. Watson under a pen name. Holmes corrects her, saying that: "My true identity, my essence, is slightly different from what you may think. And sad, but that is not the purpose of our gathering here today."

This dilemma is also present in the Sherlock Holmes Trial Quest (which mostly tackles the debate of whether he's a fictional character or someone who actually existed). Holmes has a line where he says:

"Ah, yes. I mentioned I was a Caster. Forgive me, I lied."

This is however immediately followed up by:

"A jest. My apologies. I couldn't help myself."

This sort of backpedalling raises a doubt as to whether he was really Caster class before, so the nature of his former class is still a mystery. He later mentions that his Ruler class is the World telling him that not all illusions and dreams need to be laid bare.

When meeting with Salieri in Lostbelt 1, Holmes introduces himself as such:"I'm Sherlock Holmes, Chaldea's administrative advisor. I became a servant through unusual means, just like you."

Salieri was only summonable as a servant because of his reputation caused by the fact that he killed Mozart. He is under the effect of Innocent Monster. It can also be said that Salieri is a lostbelt servant and is significantly more sane than he would have been in a normal summoning, that was the unusual summoning that Holmes was refering to. Does this mean Holmes is not from Proper Human History?

Sigurd (who's under the control of Surtur), while attacking us in Lostbelt 2 says this: "So, a human and two Heroic Spirits. No, wait. Neither of you are pure Heroic Spirits, are you? You've both got something else mixed in. Hehe, hybrids then. Interesting"

This is in reference to Holmes and Mash, who are alongside the master at this moment. Mash is a demiservant (human+servant) hence the "Hybrid" comment makes sense, but Holmes? What is the "something else" mixed in with Holmes?

Later in LB2, Holmes requests the assistance of Scáthach-Skadi in beating Surtur. Skadi says that normally she would never pay mind to what a mere Heroic Spirit had to say but: "...but in your particular case…I sense wisdom in those beautiful eyes. You remind me of Baldr, god of light." Quite a bit later, she also has this to say:"Perhaps those piercing eyes of yours in fact surpass Odin's? Mystic Eyes, perchance? ….No, that's not it. They merely reflect your wisdom born of human history's cumulative accomplishments."

She says that's not it, but the fact that it was the first thing she thought of shouldn't be ignored.

Baldr is the god of light. Holmes' attacks consist of beams of light, and his cane lights up when he's using it in battle.

In Norse legends, Odin is said to have sacrificed one eye to the spring of Mimir in order to get ancient wisdom, the ability to perceive everything in the world.

SECTION 1.5: More Reactions (From JP Only)

Since it is JP only and there is no official translation for NA yet, this information cannot be 100% confirmed in any way. (Most of this is from Reddit translation done by fans). But as these are also important, it's best to put this information separate section.

Moriarty's interlude involves him finding a micro-singularity in London. At some point the transmission between Chaldea and the master gets cut and Moriarty reveals he created this scenario, made the singularity and everything to get one on one time with the master. He tells us not to trust Holmes. When the time comes, we as master should choose Moriarty over Holmes.

It has to be kept in mind that Moriarty is not a good guy, he is a character created entirely to oppose Holmes so it is natural that he doesn't trust him. For all we know, it is just emotional manipulation.

Moriarty's very nature is tied to being the antithesis of Holmes. Holmes might theoretically go against us for the sake of humanity while also trying to keep us safe (the master is in a way, a Watson replacement to him after all) while Moriarty would gladly let humanity burn for the sake of us but also for the sake of being completely opposite to Holmes and keeping his identity as such.

However he does raise valid points, how was Holmes able to rayshift? This part was never explained, and he also mentions that his hypothesis has a fatal contradiction in the fact that Holmes risked his life to save ours. What can be inferred from this is that Holmes is a good man and is on our side, but there is something very weird about him that should not be ignored.

In Lostselt 5 it is mentioned at one point that Zeus called Holmes dangerous, he mustn't look at Zeus or the other gods and that his eyes are enemies of the world.

It has to be mentioned that this is some heavy emphasis on Holmes' eyes (Skadi mentioned Holmes' eyes twice, and she was a god as well). Is it because of the nature of Holmes that he is the one that reveals all truth? Is that in some way detrimental to gods, magic and the world in general?

Recently, from Holmes' skill upgrade interlude there was a section about Holmes saying that he is always an ally of justice and that while he may be on our side, he is still capable of evil but it doesn't change the fact that he is our ally. Even then it seems he has some secrets that can't be understood by himself.

By now with the presence of Dr. Jekyll and Helena and their recounts on what happened, it is confirmed that Holmes was actually "alive"(?)

Some of the adventures penned by Dr. Watson were actually censored versions of the original happenings, which were magical in nature.

Holmes was traumatised(?) by Helena's death back when they were both alive. He swears he would never let that happen again. (remember what happened in lostbelt 2…)

It seems that Holmes himself is not fully sure of what is secret about him. Since he utterly dislikes talking about something without being 100% sure about it (this tendency of his has gotten us in trouble before) plus his general secretive nature, it can be said that this is why he wouldn't talk about that.

SECTION 2: Weird Things That Holmes Does (And Other Questions)

Heroic Spirits are anything but normal, but there are few servants who break the norm even further, and Holmes is one of them.

Holmes is able to Rayshift (presumably) from London, to Camelot, and then to Shinjuku. There are very few servants who are able to manifest themselves.

Musashi also appears here and there, but it's not a deliberate choice on her part. She is not able to predetermine her next destination.

Arthur travels from a parallel world to this world, but this is due to "chasing after a certain powerful antagonist, evil omen" - so he tells.

Beast class has the skill of Independent Manifestation which would allow the servant to manifest anywhere they'd want. Merlin, Tamamo Vitch and Shiki possess it. However, it has to be noted that Holmes' rayshifts have a significant toll on his saint graph, as he is unable to fight or defend himself by the time we meet him in Camelot. While normal Independent Manifestation shouldn't lead to the depletion of the user's saint graph. Holmes' class is unknown at the time of his rayshifting.

At the time of summoning, Heroic Spirits usually reveal their class and True Name (there also are exceptions to the rule). At the time of his summoning, Holmes doesn't reveal his Class: "Are introductions necessary? I am a detective. If you were expecting a hero, my apologies...But if you wanted a detective or an investigator, you drew the right card."

In the case of EOR Servants whose names haven't been found, they reveal their class.

Who summoned Holmes? The only thing we know regarding his presence was that it was first clearly there when he tampered with information in London.

Holmes' illustrator is Yamanaka Kotetsu, who was also the illustrator of the beasts Tiamat and Goetia

The artists who design and illustrate the characters tend to do it in groups of servants who are related to each other in some way (Pako with Arjuna and Karna Chacha and Nobunaga; Miwa Shiro with Brynhildr and Sigurd). It is strange that Kotetsu designed only Holmes, Tiamat and Goetia.

(NEW ADDITION) It should also be noted that as an illustrator Kotetsu has had previous works in a Lovecraftian Guidebook and is also the artist to the Alien God Preistess, somewhat showing how their work leans more to the outerworldly.

SECTION 3: The Design

It is a very commonly noticed fact that Holmes' coat in his third ascension has a very similar shape to that of the Foreigner card artwork.

The pattern work on the coattails of the foreigner art and the inside (blue) part of Holmes' coattails have a very similar, if not exactly same pattern running down the entire length of it. The sphere summoned in Holmes' Noble Phantasm also has the same pattern on its sides and front.

There is a "fog" around Holmes in his third ascension, which is reminescent of the smoke in the card art. (Also can be the London smog).

The glowing section of the abdomen of the being reminds one of the metallic corset that Holmes wears.

There are 4 notches of smoke on either side of the being (total 8), under their cape. If we stretch our interpretation, then it could mean Holmes' arms and the metal arms that he has is also equal to 8.

In that tangent, the shape of the coat is also similar to that of Saver class Buddha, the fantasy trees from Lostbelt 3 and 4, and the Shadows made by the 6th imaginary element.

The Endless Knot / Shrivatsa symbol on his shoulders is one of the many references of his connection to Tibet (faking his death after the Final Problem). It is an important symbol in both Jainism and Buddhism.

Some of its interpretations include:

The eternal continuum of mind.

The union of wisdom and method.

Since the knot has no beginning or end it also symbolizes the wisdom of the Buddha

the endless cycle of suffering or birth, death and rebirth within Tibetan Buddhism.

The cane that Holmes wields has a pattern on its handle in the shape of a Prayer Wheel.

However, we are not able to find the meaning behind the script on the cane. Both of us attempted to translate it but failed. If anyone can translate the meaning it would be greatly appreciated.

The holographic books in the base of the unidentified sphere have a pattern on their front that greatly resembles a lotus.

In Holmes' third ascension, there are a number of magical circuits on his coat.

The circuits are almost only on his left side, with very few circuits on his right side. It's not like it was woven into it, were that the case the circuits would have been all over his coat in a more even distribution. It's almost like an impact radius.

Is he a Foreigner? Beast? Counter Guardian? Some other unknown extra class? It cannot be said at the moment. Holmes' role as a revealer itself is dangerous to mystery and magic, so it can be anything.

It is also not necessarily true that just because Holmes has all these abnormalities, that he will betray us, or is on the side of evil. When has there been a clear cut side of good or evil anyway? It can be argued that we are the villains in some way, as we bring about the end of these timelines to safeguard our own proper human history.

Holmes has always been on the side of humanity and will continue to be, the question is what the reveal will be, why and how. That, only time and future chapters can answer, all we can do is speculate.
