HC that Eichi got Shu a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks as a birthday gift, sending Shu into a spirited rant about the low-quality caffinated monstrosity making a mockery of distinguished espresso. Rei hears the noise and leaves before Shu can see the pumpkin spice scones and apple crisp macchiato, also bought at Starbucks, for the party. Mika is doing their usual and mirroring Shu. Dare I say Mademoiselle looks insulted as well.

a pocket list of change (poem?)

contents of a purse:

1. a packet of gum. mock gum, hi-chew to be precise, because chewing gum is outlawed, in this country (fuck this country)

2. keys, rusted, dull (doubles as a weapon, though i know i will not wield them)

3. chapstick. 4 tubes

4. mascara. 2 bottles

5. hand cream (i am superficial as i am hypocritical; i say beauty is in the imperfect but why does aging constitute something broken?)

6. sanitary pack. hand sanitizer, extra mask, wet wipes, tissue packet, starchy gloves, 3 tampons, other miscellaneous things warranted by femininity and hygiene

7. pink kate spade wallet (old, stolen from my mother. leather peels)

8. no pepper spray (this country does not warrant it - i love this country)

9. a notebook and a pencil, for writing (both unused)

10. wired earphones (too broke and too pretentious for wireless ones)

11. starbucks card (too caffine-driven to forgo one)

12. deceptively beat up copy of my dark vanessa by kate elizabeth russell (worn due to negligence, not voracious reading; my eyes still sting each time they kiss)

13. phone. charger. other necessities for living in a digital era

a pocket list of change is very honestly just a mish-mash of words that I think somewhat capture who I am as a person. Flawed, messy, probably morally unsound in some areas, this poem is truly just a collection of thoughts I had whilst on the bus ride home from school. There's just something about hating who you are and hating everything about the life you live and the paths you walk but still wanting nothing more than to be here, in this moment.

Something about that.

Whew! - I finally did it.

Hey everyone! Hope you're all doing okay during these really weird times :)

So my friend, @studywithprincess, convinced me to start a studyblr which (fingers cross!) will actually keep me accountable throughout the summer holidays.

I'm going to post about a variety of things: study tips and advice, memes to keep us going, what I'm working on and, of course, what I'm studying. I'll be reposting helpful and inspiring posts too but one thing that I'm definitely going to post about is actually a subject that I don't study (economics) but I thought it would sound cool to say I blogged about in my personal statement.

Anyways ... if you're not completely bored yet, here's more about me:

About Moi

There is really only one thing you should know about me:

As you can probably tell, I like to talk - a lot - which means my responses are about 1.5x longer than the average person.

No, but seriously, I'm really excited to become part of this community and join the cult status of being an actual serious candidate.

The Basics

My name's Danielle (although you've probably figured that out by now)

I'm 17, turning 18 in September (where my Libras at?)

I live in England and, no, I don't like tea :(

Academics:

I'm an IB student in Year 12 (11th grade). I know, I know, I chose a painful route but to be fair, A-levels isn't looking easier! I take HL Global Politics, Philosophy and Maths and SL English Lit, Biology and French.

Right now, I'm focusing on my coursework and starting my revision (because I'm a serious candidate now) as well as writing my personal statement which was actually due a week ago :)

Also, a question for American students who do IB - do any of you do the IB in 3 years? If so, I'm really jealous.

okay honestly both. Cause like Nagisa is super excited for candy while Rei is excited just to show off his costume to everybody and saying how beautiful it is

hmm Rei. He would get the most expensive shit for Nagisa, hoping he’ll like it but Nagisa’s just like “But Rei chan you’re love is the best present ever” wwwww

why is this even a question of course its Nagisa. Its also the reason Rei doesn’t let him drive the car cause he’ll probs get them in a car accident.

The one and only Utsukushii man Rei Ryugazaki. baby loves to read.

who falls asleep during a movie?Both of them depending on the movie. Rei will fall asleep if Nagisa choses to watch some silly kid movie and Rei will be like “wtf is this Nagisa im out YEET” and just is out like a light. Nagisa will fall asleep to one of Rei’s boring science movies while Rei explains the logic behind the movie.

oh my gooddd Nagisa. “rei chan we’re going to hawaii.” “what”

lmfao Rei. He’s always trying to make the house look as presentable as possible.

Nagisa for sure takes a lot of selfies with rei but rei usually likes to take those super fluffy romantic pictures so both.

Nagisa likes to take baths so he can just mess around with the bubbles he puts in while Rei takes showers since it takes a bit faster than baths.

who keeps a weekly planner?

Oh my gosh Rei. He’s always leaving it on the counter so him and nagisa can remember the crap they have to do. Nagisa sometimes writes silly stuff in it like “friday: Rei chan has to smooch me” lol

who actually watches the discovery channel?

Both. Rei mostly watches it so he can learn but Nagisa just watches it so he can see the ‘cute animals’.

who brings up having kids first?

That’s a hard one. I would think Nagisa? I would think Rei would think about it but is just too nervous to even bring it up.

who fixes things around the house when they break?

Nagisa is actually breaking things all the time by the way he messes with Rei like stealing his glasses and running around with them so Rei.

who leaves their dirty towels on the floor?

Nagisaaa he’s too lazy to be a clean person so Rei has to things like that.

who makes the coffee in the morning?

Rei does, even though he does know it can be bad for you with the amount of caffine in it but he gives zero fucks he’s tired when it 5:00 am and the dogs outside are barking.

who gets jealous over very petty things?

oh my gooddd Rei. He’s petty af as it is.

who exercises more?

Rei. He likes to stay fit while Nagisa is too busy stuffing himself with 500 cakes.

who starts listening to christmas music in october?

Thank you @studywithprincess for asking me to take part in this!

1. How would you describe Monday?

Well ... that depends if I’ve done my homework or not 😅. Sometimes it’s a day I’m dreading. More often than not, it’s a countdown marker to me living my best life in summer (but that’s not happening anymore - this is looking like study leave 😭). And other times, when I’ve actually got my act together, Mondays are an awesome fresh start I need. Then again, those days are far and few in between 😂.

2. What country would you most like to visit and why?

Oooooooooh, there’s so many, I can’t pick just one!

Australia - I actually have family there and I’d love to visit them but why is it so. far. away?

Ivory Coast - I’m part Ivorian and I really want to be able to go there with my sister and speak French when I’m fluent. Gotta do it for the culture.

Japan - Okay but who doesn’t want to visit Japan?

Iceland - I went to Iceland in 2019 and it’s got to be one of my favourite countries. It’s so beautiful but the roads? It’s like a free trip to a theme park and I thought I was going to die 😪.

Brazil - I really really really want to do a community project in the favelas in Brazil. Plus Portuguese? Sign me right up.

Morocco - See if this year had gone to plan (ahem, corona) I should be wandering in the mountains right now for Gold D of E. But since that’s not happening, I definitely want to go another time.

US - Again, if this year had gone to plan, I should’ve visited New York for an MUN conference. Yeah, the timing was bad (I’m talking clashing with mock week bad 🤧) but I was so excited. Anyways, I’m grateful I’m even alive to have another chance to go there 🥺.

3. If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

Time travel. I’d basically be immortal 😏.

4. What’s one book you think everyone should read?

Okay, I’ve got two. You, you reading this, YOU NEED TO READ LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE AND BEARTOWN.

... Don’t ask questions. Just read them.

5. If you could pick a season to have all year round what would it be?

I live in the UK so we basically have no consistency (remember Beast from the East in April?!) but I’d pick summer. Specifically summer in northern Spain - it has the perfect heat : breeze ratio.

6. Have you conquered any fears? If yes, what is it and how? If no, what is it?

I feel like I’ve conquered quite a few even in this quarantine. The biggest one is getting over my fear of rejection / not being liked. How? Things only grow if you feed them. I stopped doing specifically for the approval of others, focused on things other than social media and learnt to not base the goodness of my actions on someone’s response.

7. What extinct species would you want to resurrect if you could?

The Saber Tooth Tiger. Yeah, it could kill me but those teeth ... swoon-worthy 😍🤣.

8. Describe your favourite colour without saying it?

Sophisticated, warm, metallic and kind of millennial-esque. *whispers* guess what it is 👀

9. Who inspires you the most?

My mum (yes, with the u). I’m realising more and more that I’m almost as stubborn as she is which is both incredible and depressing.

10. What’s something you love the smell/scent of?

Hmmmmm. Can’t lie, I’m not really into smells like that so I can’t pick one. I’m looking at all you people who like the smell of sharpie - it’s whack 😭.
