When Mr. Lancer got promoted to Vice Principal, the school hired a new English teacher, an out-of-towner who wasn't phased by all the ghost stuff. For the first assignment of the year, he asked them to write a paper on any Shakespeare play they'd ever read.

The Monday after the paper was due, Mr. Todd asked Danny to stay after class. Danny frowned; he thought he'd done really well on the paper! He turned it in early and everything!

The teacher waited until everyone had left before asking, "Kid? Is everything okay at home?"

On the desk lay his paper, titled: "Why I Should Totally Kill My Godfather: An Essay About Shakespeare's Hamlet, I Swear".

Under the red hood is one of my favorite comics ever but I've yet to find a single appearance of Jason after that that I liked. He peaked at reintroduction then has gone downhill since which pisses me off when he started so good and had so much potential for more

Jane would never say that she was thankful for Arnim Zola's serum, but it did have its uses. When she realized that her mysterious stalker had fired, she was able to drag Vinnie out of the way of the bullet. Unfortunately, though, her own shots clearly hadn't found their mark either, as there was no smell of blood or sound of bullets hitting flesh, and the stalker was speaking with no hint of pain in his voice.

His words, though, at least gave her a hint as to the invisible assailant's motives. He was after Vinnie, not Jane, and wasn't going to target Jane unless she got in his way -- or so he said, anyway. But Jane wasn't willing to take that on faith. Also, she'd put effort into recruiting Vinnie, and she wasn't ready to see that all go to waste.

"I know he's a scumbag," she said, ignoring the wordless noise of offense that issued from Vinnie's mouth behind her. "But he's a useful scumbag. You got any idea how hard it is to find a good informant in this city? All those bat-freaks and their nutjob nemeses have people scared into keepin' their lips zipped. Somebody who keeps his eyes open and actually talks is worth keepin' around for a week or two."

By which, of course, Jane was trying to say without saying that, whoever her invisible opponent was, they could have Vinnie as soon as Jane was done with him, but not before then.

The Joker was apprehended, sitting on the ground as Batman guarded him, but the kid--"Bruce Wayne's newest ward, how tragic! Hehehe!"--was nowhere to be found. Nightwing and Red Hood desperate searched the warehouse until a shuffling noise grabbed their attention.

A kid, black haired just like the kid in the Joker's broadcast, crawling out of a pile of boxes. "Is it over?" the boy asked quietly.

Nightwing guided him to the only exit, unfortunately walking past the boy's own kidnapper. "Yeah, kid. It's over. Come on-"

Like a shot, the boy rushed the Joker and kicked him right in the balls.

The Joker wheezed like a dying squeaky toy. Red Hood froze. Nightwing immediately snatched the boy up by the armpits, but all that did was give the boy the height to attack again, punting Joker in the jaw. The clown went down and cracked his head on the floor. He did not get back up.

There was a moment of silence before Red Hood roared with laughter, his helmet distorting the sound.

Red Robin gets hit with a love spell during battle that knocks him out and will make him fall in love with the first person he sees when he wakes up.

The Bats takes him back to the Cave and while they wait for Bruce to get Zatanna or some other magic user to come help break the spell they all agree Red Hood should be who Red Robin sees and he can deal with a lovestruck Red Robin.

Since he'd be the one best able to handle that without the awkwardness of being his ex.

(Steph is his ex, Dick is in Bludhaven, Cass is in Hong Kong and Duke has a girlfriend. Which leaves Bruce. (He refused.) Barbara. (She laughed.) Or Damian. (Everyone agreed it was best not to.) So, Jason is what's left.)

Only, when Tim wakes up and sees Jason, he doesn't act any differently. He just gets up and demands a mission report and tries to go about business as usual, much to everyone's confusion.

(And to the disappointment of Stephanie, who had her phone out ready to record.)

They explain the love spell and wonder why nothing happened and Tim just says that obviously it didn't work and to not worry too much about it.

The spell did work it's just that Tim was already in love with Jason so nothing actually changed outwardly.

Bruce manages to get Zatanna there a few days later and examines Tim, and is also confused because there's definitely a love spell on him and there's no reason it shouldn't be working. To prevent her from looking further into it and making a big deal, Tim, in private, hints at why there might not be any effects.

Zatanna gets it and agrees to remove the spell and say that it just wasn't that strong after all.

Everybody seems to accept that explanation and move on, except for Jason, who knows Tim is hiding something and he's determined to find out what.

(Bruce also realizes that something is up but wants to respect Tim's privacy.)

I genuinely hate Jason Todd. Like its not even a minor dislike. Every character who he interacts with gets assassinated and everyone acts like he's this poor little meow meow despite being incredibly annoying. He takes away from characters like Helena Bertinelli and Mia Dearden because people act like he has every trauma in the world while ignoring the nonbat/less popular characters who actually do in canon.
