you’re lucky enough to catch him without malleus by his side. he was sitting up against a tree with a few birds finding a home on his body. the scene was perfect, like he’d just came out of a fairy tale

he saw you coming, you weren’t being discreet about your presence. he had a confused look on his face, it wasn’t often that you two saw each other, let alone talked

you explained to him your situation, how your art block was eating you alive. he started to panic which scared the birds away, ready to face whatever this art block was. you calmed him down, it was just a metaphor

he agreed to be your muse, it’s not like he had much to do anyway

you carry your sketch book around with you incase you find something that sparked your creativity. the two of you got into a comfortable position, you laid your preferred coloring medium (or none at all if you don’t like coloring) beside you before pulling out your pencil and eraser

silver stayed awake for five minutes, maybe it was the constant sound of your pencil scratching the paper or the rustling of the trees that had him dozing off or maybe it’s just silver’s weird habit of being able to fall asleep in any place at any time

his features were way more relaxed than they were before, his shoulders started to slouch, the crease between his eyebrows disappeared as well. a perfect scene

“silver.. silver! wake up!” you whisper-shouted close to his ear. you leaned back as he jolted awake, rubbing his eyes to rid of any sleepiness that may still be lurking

“huh..? what’s wrong?” he asked, his eyes focusing on you, they were frantically moving across your face, looking for any signs of distress

you said nothing, pulling your sketchbook from behind your back. you held it in front of his face, far enough so that he can see it. you notice his hands, hesitant in wanting to hold the sketch book; you just smile and plop it right in his hands

“this is me?” he asked in shock, his eyes moving back in forth from you to the paper. you captured every little detail in his face and body, even the tree he was laying against

quickly noticing now long he’s been holding your sketch book, he gives it back to you. although, his slight smile never left his face

“it’s amazing. it was an honor being able to help you out”

you caught him in the halls after all the clubs ended. he was walking out the board games club with azul and a few other students

he didn’t notice you, but azul did

you saw idia tense up, slowly turning around to you. you wave at the both of them. azul was quick to hand idia over to you when you asked for him. idia looked so dejected, looking back at azul like he just committed murder

you pulled idia aside, far from azul’s prying eyes. you explained the situation you’re currently in, you had a small feeling he might disagree; desperately hoping you were wrong

and you was! idia agreed to help you! not without a whole bunch of complaints. he saw the desperation all over your face, how could he not agree?

you had to do it in the comfort of idia’s room though, you didn’t mind, a person’s beauty looks best when they’re most comfortable

in the comfort of his room, he sat on the bed while you sat on the gaming chair. you set out all your art materials on the desk, you picked up your pencil and sketch book before scooting the chair closer to idia

the man looked so nervous. you started talking to him to try to ease his nerves. hours went by and he started to get more animated, talking to you about his current fave game

“…tbh the story could be better, the whole evil villain terrorizing the mc for some super special artifact is so overrated”

“yeah, definitely played out” you nodded in agreement. you push the chair closer to the desk, putting your pencil and eraser down. idia’s rambling dies down as he watches you come back to the original spot you were in before

he stares at every moment you make until your sketchbook invades his field of view. his eyes widened, grabbing the sketchbook out your hands

“do… do you like it?” idia’s expression and lack of words had you second guessing. you didn’t take much time on it, it was definitely a rougher sketch than you normally would do

“yeah… it’s great. can i keep it? not for myself but i think ortho would like it a lot”

Hey thank you! My patreon page is mostly just there with no rewards really offered, unfortunately. I follow 400+ accounts on twitter, mostly artists. I need to keep some people muted, eg nsfw artists who might end up on my tl at a wrong time, or artists who post a lot of Kpop stuff I'm not into etc. Basically I curate my tl well.

A friend (K) got into a ship a few months ago, started retweeting a ton of sfw-nsfw art, I muted them but kept up conversation otherwise. For the whole of last month tho I was preoccupied and only saw what was on my tl (didn't check muted accounts) and only talked to my closest friends. I also had notifications muted.

Last week I was going around catching up with my other friends who I didn't talk to last month and realized K had messaged me, their usual memes and pet videos, some fanarts. All went ignored for over a month. So I sent them a ship art of their fave character from a lesser known artist (hoping to surprise) as peace offering.

K replied soon, just as usual, didn't mind that I was MIA. At no point did they seem upset or angry during this conversation. Now this is the case. They ignored the ship art at first until I asked if they liked it, they said it was a huge notp and they already blocked the artist. I apologized. They said, and I'm copying, "Nooo it's okay, you wouldn't have known 😅"

We talked for some more and they were still casual. We talked about that ship too. Thing is their fave character in this ship is like the fanfavorite Hole, all other people I know from that fandom ship him with Everyone. So I thought K would like anything I sent. I then checked K's account and found out K only liked one (1) ship with this character and they have retweeted hundreds of fanarts. They've written fics for them. They have also recently talked about why they disliked the notp in private. Later I saw that they were harassed by notp's fans on CC.

Anyone following K for a couple days would know this but I missed it because on top of muting I didn't get to check their account for a month. Made 2+2, they had somehow figured out I muted them and that's why excused my mistake that way. Now I think they were being sarcastic. It made me panic and I felt terrible. I looked at their account more thoroughly, that's how I found the CC anon hate.

After that conversation they're avoiding me? I'm not sure. My new messages are unread, they don't reply to comments much. But they don't seem to be online often anyways and I know for a fact they also keep notifications disabled, so I don't know.

Ship preference or nsfw posting is not a problem so please don't come at us over that.

12. Frightful No More [A Doll to Die For]

It's great to hear Lord Hater again and a song that's an homage to "Everything's Coming Up Roses" (Gypsy) and "The Rain in Spain" (My Fair Lady)...at least that's what it make me think of.

11. It's Just Your Masterpiece in You [Faint of Art]

This episode was a pretty nice message on art block and a fear of failure that a lot of artists face, especially when they haven't done anything in years. I tend to procrastinate by snacking, which of course I can't draw with food fingers (even when using a napkin) so I gotta wait till it goes away, oh whoops, now the days ended, oh well, tomorrow...

10.Thai Culture Cram [100% Molly McGee]

A fun song showing the lengths that Molly is willing to go to learn half of her culture. Granted she didn't realize that this stuff takes time but she's on the right path.

9.Me & My Dad [Like Father, Like Libby]

Kid's who have an absentee parent def felt what Libby is singing about in this one. It just sucks when someone who should be important in your life, doesn't take it as serious as you'd wish they would.

8. Hit Restart [Perfect Day]

Gotta love how relaxed the singer is while describing the continuiously hectic attempts Molly and Scratch make at having a perfect first day of the year.

7. Identity Crisis [Davenport's in Demise]

It's a shame we didn't get more from Andrea this season, especially after this ep. I know we would've gotten her and Alina in S3 but still, I would've liked to see how her and Molly are friends

6. Maybe Next Time [The End] (Spoilers)

Scratch's backstory was a gut-punch, especially for those of us that feel like we're wasting our lives away. It does kinda remind me of a more sad version of "I Remember It Well" (Gigi)

5. Enjoy Your Afterlife [The New (Para)Normal]

A fun song with the Ghost Council about life after the Chairman's defeat that kinda reminds me of "Go Back to City Hall" in S1

1. i mentioned about having medical issues and some people got concerned so i just want to quickly explain the thing yk; in short it turns out having anxiety can cause heart arrhythmia ????? which can be like kinda dangerous;; but like in most cases it's fairly harmless so i should be alright :] !! still have to go check it out at the hospital (which i have been sorta putting off for a while bc yk. anxiety,, lol) but like other than it stressing me out a bit, everything is relatively fine :]

I love books, n have loved books since I was a kid. There's a reason for this: my parents are ALSO huge nerds (and where I got my neurodivergence frm)

which means that, ever since I was wee little, I've gotten to go to the New York Antiquarian Book Fair and the Artist Book Fair (aka the Shadow Fair, cuz it's at the same time, as the main fair but one block away) many times over the years!

and it jus keeps getting cooler to me, cuz I got to intern in the conservation lab of a historic library/museum place n I've gotten to take a few classes on book binding (adding to what I know frm the internship!) plus the stuff I've been learning from history and art and lit classes jus giving me more n more context!!!!

anywho, twas thinking if this cuz Dad sent pictures frm the fair, n I'm SO jealous T_T

Not to call attention to my art block (;_;) but … Mr Zenos Final Fantasy for the meme?

Here's the boy!

We've got a lot of similarities, and he's definitely someone I project on, but also aspire to on certain things -- his handling of his emotionally neglectful/abusive parental figure was iconic, 10/10.

For all his status, overpowered abilities, and wanting to control the stage upon which his life unfolds, intentionally setting himself up as the villain to the Warrior of Light's hero, he has very strong Just Some Guy vibes and it makes for an incredibly interesting combination of traits ♡

He has times with no thoughts, head empty and times with so many calculus equations spinning around in his head, he just veers from one extreme to the other

... I just realized I accidentally left the "sadistic for fun | helps others for fun" bar empty... but that actually works out great, because it's neither honestly, he only has fun in one, single way, and that is Battle (not the outcome, not the killing, not inflicting damage, but the actual engagement itself). Otherwise, there is no fun; what is fun?

Anything is both a tool and a weapon, and both are equally useful and useless to him XD

He absolutely breaks the rules by changing them lmao. Peak unconventionality.

I want all the best things for him only, he has been through enough.

Definitely more friends, a better time and situation, more healing, less trauma, freedom from his blood and his past, an actual family, more catharsis and revenge, and an actually satisfying ending because that was utter bullshit lmao.

I managed to persuade one of my friends to read Animal Farm by George Orwell with me together; we’ve been both neglecting reading and I thought doing it this way is a great motivator since we can discuss it afterwards! Speaking of friends I recently bought an instax camera to capture moments together and it’s so much fun!! I also love playing video games...my favorite genres being survival-horror and action-adventure but honestly not limiting myself here!!! I play everything wah.. The last game I completed is Resident Evil 4! Currently playing Horizon Forbidden West and I have Fatal Frame 3 on hold on my PS2 :’3 I also want to get into Elden Ring and replay the Zero Escape series because it’s been a while but god. I really have zero time I’m also still a weeb at heart....although not watching anime that regularly anymore; the last anime I’ve watched is Higurashi Gou! I also love cosplay..it’s been a while but the last character I’ve cosplayed is 2B from Nier: Automata! Really want to give crossplay a try though and cosplay 9S sometime!! <33

I love your style, do you have any tips for anything, like proportions, shading, etc. for digital art?

thank u :> i have tips in the #art advice tag, and a coloring tutorial here if u haven’t seen it. i’ll try to offer more about those other aspects below the cut!

i’m a total noob too especially for digital so i do believe other people will have much better tips! here are some who make very high quality art explanations: (these are all on youtube!)

Sinix (especially his anatomy quick tips series, soo goodd)

Marco Bucci (10 minutes to better painting series)

Sycra (more in-depth stuff)

Sara Tepes (slightly more stylized)

LavenderTowne (very stylized, comic artist)

lemoncholy (art-video-design, in love with her character design)

Kim Jung Gi (The god of anatomy & perspective)

i watched a lot of these when starting out; now if i have time i love finding individual artists i just love and try to break down their art to see what i love so much about it :)

i’ll try my best to explain my own style and methods!!

💙 Stylized

Faces: my style is very anime / chibi inspired, so that means regular proportions but cutesified, so more exaggerated childlike proportions -> big eyes, big heads, small (dot) noses. its lowkey a cheat to draw faster but still expressively hehe,,,

Bodies: mine are so basic 😅 i often use references and just simplify them into more basic shapes

i don’t do this enough but i really suggest pushing the shape language and also having clear silhouettes of who and what ur character is doing at all times

a sense of movement makes your art more dynamic and interesting and life-like. i try to keep my characters doing something in every panel, and even when staying still i think having a clear line of action is preferable (shoutout to @alkalinefrog and @li-wri for the best dynamics in their sketches imo 😌🙏)

For shading, i explain in much more depth in the coloring tutorial! I personally only cell-shade in one block the general area that i think would be covered from light on a multiply layer, and then add different colors for transitions (between shadows and light) and for secondary/reflected light (within shadows)

💚 Realism

for the most part, i agree that u prolly wanna learn to draw realistically in tandem with stylistically if u wanna develop ur art

to study proportion, i personally think there’s no way around referencing real people. i highly suggest quick figure drawings, gesture drawings and also breaking down figures into shapes!

shading is also something u learn through practice and develop intuition for, BUT i think if u look up tutorials on shading basic shapes like spheres and blocks, u can quickly apply it to more complicated shapes. u just need to know several concepts such as these:

i did this while trying to figure out a george design lol (i’m still getting there, that’s why he looks like a shapeshifter in my comics T_T)

and when drawing real people’s face proportions, it tends to have to be pretty exact, so i often use grids!!

i also saved some digital-specific art tips for someone who migrated from tradi:

know u feel hella rich with literally any color now at ur disposal, but limit ur color scheme!! not as in the amount of colors, but more so be more purposeful about the color set u choose (personally i find it good to mix both saturated and desaturated colors :>)

take the time to learn about the functions of the magic buttons for the program you’re using, i swear it will save time in the future

editing colors and proportions after you’re already done is a thing now and its amazing

there’s gLOW ✨✨✨✨ (play around with blending modes!!)
