"What?" She asked, voice hesitant and soft, worried she had said or done the wrong thing somehow.

"Nothing, jus’ wanted to see your face," Natsu replied.

Had she always been this pretty? She must have been; he’d always known it, but this... Her eyes practically sparkled like the stars she adored so much, and he was almost certain that within them he could find all the answers to the universe.

Her heart began to race under his intense gaze, and she could have sworn for a moment she saw his gaze flick down to her lips. That glance was all it took to spark a moment of confidence in Lucy’s heart—a reassurance that maybe he wanted this just as much as he did.

Before she could let the flame inside of her fizzle out, her hands were tangled in his hair and her lips against his, letting him feel everything her heart had to offer.

And he was kissing her back.

Maybe if she had known it would go like this, she would have kissed him much, much earlier.

His hands on her body, one cradling her head, the other resting on the small of her back, were the only thing keeping her attached to reality as she felt herself get lost against his lips, falling off the edge of their friendship and diving into something completely new.

okay here’s my own take on the “he/him in the way a dog is” thing. I reblog stuff that’s like “he/him but in the way a random dog on the street is” because it fits the vibes well enough, but I don’t actually feel that way. The idea of just treating a being as male when you don’t know it’s sex or gender actually bugs me. I’m not trying to diminish what gives other people euphoria, just express how I feel.

For me, I don’t want to be perceived as male in a way that’s regardless of how I identify/am. For me, I like the idea of being a boy in the way you just decide a dog is a boy, the same way you decide it’s name, which you can do regardless of sex, and as a result even though there’s like no difference between males and females, you just perceive everything about the dog as masculine because you view it as a male and vice versa. In a dog specific way as well, because it’s masculinity is based on its canine traits, and those canine traits are then viewed through the lense of its masculinity. Idk man, I have some convictions about animal gender.
