i just love the Strilondes bc like. At first glance you would think Dave is mostly like Dirk and Rose is mostly like Roxy. But you gotta flip it turnways, actually.

Dirk and Rose are both very closed-off in most situations, and this usually results in people doubting their sincerity a lot of the time. Their intelligence is immediately obvious to anyone who talks to them for more than a second, and they both have a tendency to think they know what's best for other people. But ultimately, they care so much about their friends/family that they're both willing to die if they think it will help them in some way (Rose deciding to go on a suicide mission so her friends can survive vs. Dirk letting Dave behead him to stop one of the jacks)

On the other hand, Dave and Roxy are both very physically affectionate people by nature who will go off on random tangents completely unrelated to their original point. They're both sort of spacey and lighthearted, but at the same time were some of the most dedicated players of their sessions (Dave straight up prototyping himself to make sure the alpha timeline stayed on track vs. Roxy being the 'shadow leader' of the alpha kids' session, and basically being the glue that held them all together)

Looks like Egbert came through. He wires you his measly BOONBUCK. It's not much, but it is immediately funneled into the pipelines of your various investment scams, and quickly begins paying dividends.

A Boonbuck's only a million Boondollars, so it really is nothing compared to this fortune. What was the point of asking for it, then? Did Dave just want an excuse to catch up with John?

Maybe, if you took the time to trace all the loops, you'd find that the entire fortune was derived from John's Boonbuck in the first place.

It's also worth noting that Boondollars can be exchanged for Grist.

This explains why Dave's stock market hack is so useful. It gives the party an arbitrary amount of Grist - for these specific grist types, at least.

Nuzi Hellspawns (this took may more time and effort than I wanted it too sobs)

More info on the twins, Scrapped child outfit for Orita & the AO3 comment(er) who gave me the name ideas (bc I'm bad at names lol) under the cut 💕

Orita:

N calls her his "sweet Violet" due to the color of her optics being a light purple

Personality wise she mostly takes after N, however she did inherited Uzis unhingedness so she has her moments

She got Uzi's skill in robotics, engineering and hacking

Her and Uzi help each other with their projects once Orita is old enough to help Uzi (Uzi always helped her daughter when asked ofc)

Once the twins switch to their Teen/Adult bodies, she starts to basically upgrade herself by custom making DD forearms so she looks more like N too

The above point worries N a little because she actually gave herself weapons in them -- N always refused to have her look at his weaponry, having a strict "no weapons around the kids unless it's absolutely necessary" rule.

Because of the above rule, Orita went to V instead because V doesn't mind her looking at her weapons. She thinks it's cool that she's interested in them

Her childhood body used to be Uzi's when she was a kid (same with her Pill Baby body lol)

She placed a sticker of the DD logo on her cores cover as a child to kind of honor her Dad, she loves him dearly <3

This resulted in his main camera being severely damaged in one confrontation, resulting in him primarily using the Headband optics as camera

Said headband was made Uzi (both of the twins headbands were) because the twins code included Ns "real eyes" / headband optics, which resulted in them having issues with their sense of orientation and depth perception without said optics. They aren't nearly as advanced as their dads when it comes to features and accuracy, but they get the job done

He kinda goes through a "my dad is boring" phase at one point, but that's swiftly put to an end when he actually sees N in action

He had severe problems balancing using WD legs, seemingly not having enough footing to do so. So Uzi made him custom ones based on Ns lower legs so that their son has more surface to stand on and distruste his weight on

The WD symbol on his cores covering ends up scratched up and with chipped paint as he gets older, due to him getting into fights a lot

Both Twins

Both kids inherited the downsides that come with being a DD/Solver user - meaning they can't go out in the sun, have issues overheating and do need to feed on oil (these issues don't start until they are transferred to their first functional bodies. As babies they're fine)

This probably means Uzi went out of her way to improve their internal cooling system a bit

Seeing as Oritas childhood body is that of Uzi, I am debating on if I make Thad child-free and he offered them his for Rexim

This idea comes from me hc N and Thad as having a brotherly bond & feeling like the CoolKids Trio would still be very close later on. Thad is practically the twins uncle :) (he spoils them lol)

This reads to me a lot as something he orchestrated, something he thought up to look cool, but what's the point of saying all this shit when you say afterwards you're just going to say that she's controlling none of it and really it's just you (which really, in the end it wasn't). Jane points out a pretty good point about there not being a true LEADER leader, and Dirk just plows on. He proceeds to have a long and eyeroll worthy emphasis about how much he can serve, how good he is at it, how Jane only has to call and he'll come to the rescue, not to worry at ALL. I mean i have to laugh. Here he is emphasising how much he can serve and he can't. He can't at all. Pushing someone in a direction does not always equal helping. His suggestions are befitting his aspect sure, but doesn't always mean it's the right solution!

Steven and Lars doodles inspired by some thoughts from my rewatch. Said thoughts under the cut.

Most of these thoughts come from the Lars Straight Up Dies arc, since I'd been having lively discussion w/ my friends while rewatching about how Steven from like, as early as 'The Trial' onwards continuously bottles up every single negative emotion or complaint and basically never expresses them honestly to anyone, which is very healthy and normal and super will not backfire.

But then notably, he does express negative sentiment when talking to Lars (and the coolkids to a lesser extent), and very explicitly turns to him to affirm his negative emotions and fear in 'Stuck Together'.

Then, generally knowing where future goes, I think a Steven-Lars fusion that is a manifestation of that more open expression of Steven's negative traits in a neutral and camaradarie-building light would be a nice take on the design, hense the Stevenwyrm elements.

I love the art here! Right amount of sweetness and SBAHJ style. Daverezi aka coolkids is another awesome ship I like! The two really had good chemistry. Makes it ironic when a different Dave had to stopped Terezi and he(Davesprite) hates her guts. But the Dave we follow, is quite friendly with her. The two sending each other shitpost drawings was silly and cute! Even if the two were not a couple couple on meteor by Act 6, I probably would have liked it if Dave had taken more time to help Terezi. Like he knew that Gamzee was bad news and should not deal with his bullshit for treating a friend like that. Even if they are alien trolls, he said it himself, fuck quadrants. Quadrants don't mean shit to humans. If Terezi helped him have a little confidence in himself as a hero to get through this game and was able to reach godtier now, then he could have helped her say that abuse and picking fights that go too far, sucks. It doesn't have to be sunshine and rainbows, but Terezi will not be near bad influencers like Vriska or Gamzee anymore.

i like solkat!! i saw someone say on here once that shipwise, out of all the dudes, karkat canonically makes the most sense for sollux and as much of an erisol fanatic as i am i cannot deny the truth in that statement. they obviously care about each other so fucking much- just the constant needling of each other in the most obnoxious asshole way possible... AND the scene after cascade where sollux half-dies moving the meteor GOD that eviscerates me AND KARKATS REACTION WHEN SOLLUX SAYS HE'S NOT GONNA STAY AUGH URGH AHHHHH like he basically loses one of his best friends twice in like a 10 minute period that has to be fucking brutal dude :(((

and the parallels between sollux and karkats relationship and dave and karkats relationship... he has a very obvious type and that type is snarky coolkids.

im also a huge erisolkat and davesolkat guy!! they are so goofy together. (and johnsolkat. which is shipped by me and me alone.)

UHHH. WHAT. CRAZY. OK.
