[For the past who-knows-how-long, burglar has been sitting in her.. little, slightly barren room in the base, on the bed, looking through her collections. Her eyes are wide and tired at the same time - as they always are, and her face is slack. She usually doesn't spend much time down here - as evidenced by the coating of dust on everything - but she's far too scared - and far too tired - to climb back up into her usual crawlspaces. Slowly, almost methodically, she rolls bullet after bullet into a sunk well on the bed.]

Dialogue transcripts:
Panel 1
Voice (offscreen): Holmes! Holmes!
Panel 2
Dr. Watson: Holmes, thank goodness I found you! There’s been a—wait.
Panel 3
Watson: Is that…?
Holmes: We can do introductions later, Watson. What is it you wanted to tell me?
Panel 4
Watson: Well, when I got back from my house call, I found the door to our flat ajar, with the lock smashed. Baker Street’s been broken into!
Panel 5
Holmes: Broken into!? Is Mrs. Hudson—
Watson: She’s alright. Apparently they were in and out before she even saw who it was.
Holmes: Well, that’s a relief at least. But a burglary—in the middle of the day, no less—
Panel 6
Holmes: Terribly sorry, madam, but it appears I must take my leave momentarily. Perhaps we could meet at—
Irene: We’re coming with you.
Holmes: —I beg your pardon?
Panel 7
Irene: The timing of this burglary cannot be a coincidence, Mr. Holmes. I have a strong suspicion that your trouble and mine are connected.

Speckled Band Part 3
"Can I be of assistance?" "Your presence might be invaluable." "Then I shall certainly come." "It is very kind of you."
extremely soft over this dialogue. watson is his partner, and holmes is still like ‘look, you can wait in the hotel if you want’
"Subtle enough and horrible enough. When a doctor does go wrong he is the first of criminals. He has nerve and he has knowledge. Palmer and Pritchard were among the heads of their profession.
as someone with a hobby knowledge of the history of toxicology, it really is fascinating to see this as written in 1892. at this point, we have an okay-ish knowledge of what household things are poisonous (at the very least, the UK at this time was much better about banning stuff like arsenic in candy than the US) but we’re still about ... like, thirty-forty years out from being able to reliably identify non-plant-based poisons (like arsenic, etc etc) in the human body after death. a lot of poisonings got away with it because, frankly, a lot of people were getting accidentally poisoned all the time anyway, and if you couldn’t identify arsenic or what-have-you in a corpse ... no case!
Holmes was for the moment as startled as I. His hand closed like a vise upon my wrist in his agitation. Then he broke into a low laugh and put his lips to my ear.
"It is a nice household," he murmured. "That is the baboon."
“It is a nice household” mixed with watson’s “MY GOD!? A CHILD!?” is so funny
I do love that Watson is writing these stories down for publication, but he’s freely admitting to burglary here
How long they seemed, those quarters! Twelve struck, and one and two and three, and still we sat waiting silently for whatever might befall.
god I’m remembering how well-done this scene is in Granada, and you can really feel the tension here
I could, however, see that his face was deadly pale and filled with horror and loathing.
oh holmes is SCARED scared “you won’t inject my body with an undetectable non-plant-based poison you son of a bitch”
"It is a swamp adder!" cried Holmes; "the deadliest snake in India. He has died within ten seconds of being bitten. Violence does, in truth, recoil upon the violent, and the schemer falls into the pit which he digs for another.
such a good reveal
Some of the blows of my cane came home and roused its snakish temper, so that it flew upon the first person it saw. In this way I am no doubt indirectly responsible for Dr. Grimesby Roylott's death, and I cannot say that it is likely to weigh very heavily upon my conscience."
(a) snakish lmao (b) this brings up an interesting legal question of whether holmes is guilty of murder.  while I don’t think this falls under the legal definition of murder (no pre-intent) or manslaughter (frankly, it’s more self-defense than anything - you see a snake hissing at you, you gotta hit that bad boy with a cane, that it went back to its master and bit him is none of your business as far as you’re concerned) however, i did look up to see that the felony murder rule was still in place in the UK at that time (called constructive malice) -- essentially saying that the courts could attribute malice aforethought (’i’m gonna go kill that guy) to you if a death was caused during the commission of another felony (say .... burglary) EDITED WITH FURTHER LEGAL THOUGHTS -- HELEN INVITED THEM INSIDE THE HOUSE, I DON’T THINK IT COUNTS AS BURGLARY ANYMORE, SHERLOCK HOLMES IS MURDER-FREE

Okay now for some criticisms:
- It felt like they deliberately avoided some of the dialogue from the books? Like in some scenes they’d say something new which in all honestly could’ve instead been direct quotes from the book.
- Some character motivations changed too, like Lockwood not wanting Lucy to use touch on the ring/necklace the morning after Annabel’s apparition appears in the attic when in reality in TSS he did want her ‘as an asset’ to explore if it was worth continuing the case.
- Combe Carey was very rushed and I didn’t feel scared watching it like I did reading because it was just devoid of tension.
- Actually a lot of the scenes could have been scarier. But maybe it wasn’t as much for us because we all knew what was coming in every scene.
- In fact the whole set up with Fairfax was rushed, and while sticking to how the books introduce him is predictable with him being the murderer, it flows much more smoothly when Lockwood finally figures it out and yet still purposefully puts Lucy and George in danger, albeit well prepared.
- And where they changed the scenes in some parts felt unnecessary, like having Barnes ring instead of him coming over and seeing the ghost jar etc. Iconic moments like that were glossed over.
- WE GOT NO RAT GHOST :(
- No ‘burglary’s more fun than socialising’ :(
- Some of the comedy was missing imo, especially with the Skull. In fact, I really wished we’d gotten the nighttime talk with the trio, where Lucy hears the skull from the oven.
- Kipps asking Lucy on a date??? I’m sorry, but no thanks drop that plotline immediately

101 Cases in the Visual & Performing Arts (Film, Music, Art) for Public Safety purposes of improvements! 🚨 💓 “The Price of LA” pilot TV show for BUZZ is an example speaking with a witness while at a nightclub: Watch the video.

Ezra Miller - They/Them cover
How convenient is it that adherents of the ideology of the pedophile John Money, members of the Church of Transgenderism, have an easy out against any and all criticism by claiming special status as a member?
Ezra Miller, star of The Flash which comes out Friday, is one such guy. Using They/Them pronouns and claiming to be the imaginary "non-binary" he can commit crimes against women at will and will get very little media coverage. They cover for him and not about him.
He was arrested twice and accused of multiple instances of physical assault. He also faced allegations of brainwashing 18-year-old activist Tokata Iron Eyes and keeping her from her parents and received a temporary harassment-prevention order last June on behalf of a mother and her 12-year-old child in Massachusetts. In August, Vermont State Police tried to serve an emergency-care order to a different woman and her three children, who were reportedly living with the actor in “unsafe conditions” on a farm in Vermont. No news has emerged on whether the missing people have been located, but two months after the order was issued, Miller was charged with felony burglary, stemming from an incident in which he broke into someone’s home and stole bottles of alcohol.
He's a classic groomer. In June 2022, Iron Eyes' parents filed legal documents asking a judge to issue an order of protection against actor Ezra Miller on her behalf, due to Ezra using "violence, intimidation, threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions, and drugs" including marijuana and LSD to hold sway over her. Although Iron Eyes is 18, due to tribal regulations Iron Eyes' parents are still considered her legal guardians.
Iron Eyes' parents claim that an inappropriate relationship began between the pair in 2016, during the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, when Miller was 23 and Iron Eyes was 12. They further claim, and photos document, that the year after the two met, Iron Eyes flew to London to visit Miller on the set of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. In 2021, she dropped out of school, allegedly to follow Miller. Iron Eyes' parents also alleged in the legal documents that Miller caused bruises on Tokata and that Miller had given Iron Eyes a large amount of LSD in 2020.
Her parents' countered by claiming their child does not control her social media. Iron Eyes stated in the video response that it's her own choice not to have a phone. As of June 10, 2022, law enforcement couldn't find Miller to serve him with the order .Miller then posted messages on his Instagram account mocking the court's attempts to find him, but has since deleted them.
In August, Miller's former music collaborator Oliver Ignatius stated that he had witnessed Miller verbally abuse Iron Eyes over her wearing makeup. Takota defended Miller by referring to the incident as "a catty comment" and a part of "queer dialogue"; she called the allegation of abuse "homophobic".
According to a September 2022 Vanity Fair article, the tribal court dismissed the request for a permanent protective order, and the parents say they withdrew their request for custody, believing the odds were stacked against them; the same article reports that Miller claimed to be Jesus, the devil, and the next Messiah while Iron Eyes believed herself to be a Native American spider goddess. The article also claimed that Miller and Iron Eyes believe their relationship will bring about a Native American revolution followed by the apocalypse.
Just to make it clear, he is not alleged to have committed any crime against a man only women. He uses his status as a actor and a they/them to hide that he is a groomer and an abuser.

Synopsis: A man in a Batman costume enters a creepy-looking house which sits secluded on a small hill. He moves into the bedroom upstairs where he kills an old man using a dagger with a bat-shaped hilt. The murderer is Hugo Strange and his revenge on Batman has begun.
At night, Batman is busting some drug dealers and he takes them down using his Batboat. Though he is successful, he warns himself not to go overboard with all his new gadgets. When he sees the Bat-Signal, Batman meets with Captain Gordon who shows him the murdered old man. The dagger and a bat painted on the wall with blood is making it a little too obvious that someone is trying to frame Batman. Both men argue that Hugo Strange may not be dead after all. Indeed, Gordon later finds out that the victim named Sebastian Cole unterwent three years of psychiatric therapy with Hugo Strange as his doctor.
While Batman also goes after Catwoman who draws more and more attention because of her increasing number of burglaries, a disguised Hugo Strange begins his new job as psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. His first patient is Scarecrow and using hypnosis Strange tries to eliminate the fear Jonathan Crane has regarding Batman …

@dragodina Mein neuer Buddy hat dir was geschrieben! Wir haben ein bisschen hin- und her diskutiert („Can you put some dialogue at the beginning?“ / „Bot, I love this! We need just a short explanation in the story why Tine works with Julia because they are from different parts of the police.“), aber jetzt … gefällt mir das ganz gut 😁
Room for more
"I still can't believe this string of burglaries," Julia Grosz said as she flipped through the file on her desk. "It's like the thief is one step ahead of us at every turn."
"I know," Tine Geissler replied as she leaned against the desk. "But we'll catch them. We just need to keep following the leads and staying vigilant."
Julia looked up at Tine and gave a small nod. "You're right. We'll get them. I have a good feeling about this case."
Tine smiled at Julia and said, "I have a good feeling about us working together too. We make a great team."
Julia couldn't help but agree. Tine, an officer for the highway patrol, was smaller in stature than Julia but equally as dedicated to her job. She had dark hair and an infectious energy that seemed to light up the room. Unlike Julia, Tine wore her emotions on her sleeve and was not afraid to show her interest in Julia more openly.
The two women had been brought together to work on the case due to their respective areas of expertise. Julia, a skilled crime investigator in Hamburg, had been assigned to lead the investigation, while Tine, with her expertise in patrolling the city's highways, was brought in to assist.
The two women had been working on the case for weeks, following leads and gathering evidence. One evening, after a long day of investigating, they found themselves alone in Julia's office going over their notes.
"We've been at this for hours," Tine said, rubbing her tired eyes. "I think we could use a break."
Julia looked up from her notes and sighed. "I know, but we're so close to cracking this case. I can feel it."
Tine walked over to Julia and placed a hand on her shoulder. "We'll figure it out. But we can't do our best work if we're exhausted. Let's take a break and come back fresh tomorrow."
Julia reluctantly agreed and the two women gathered their things to leave. As they walked out of the office, Tine turned to Julia and said, "Hey, do you want to grab a drink with me? It might help us relax a bit."
Julia hesitated, not wanting to mix work and pleasure, but ultimately she nodded and the two women headed to a nearby bar.
As they sat at the bar, Tine couldn't help but stare at Julia, taking in her beauty and the way the dim lighting made her blonde hair glow.
"You know," Tine said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I've wanted to do this for a long time."
With that, Tine leaned in and captured Julia's lips in a soft and tender kiss. Julia felt a wave of intense emotions wash over her as they kissed, the tension and stress of the case melting away in that moment. She had felt this way before, but with Tine it was different. Tine had a way of understanding and supporting Julia in a way that no one else had before.
As they pulled away from the kiss, Julia couldn't help but feel a sense of uncertainty. She wasn't sure where this relationship would take her, but she knew that she wanted to explore it further.
Tine seemed to sense Julia's hesitation and took her hand in hers. "We don't have to rush into anything," she said softly. "We can take things slow and see where this leads us."
Julia nodded and squeezed Tine's hand. She knew that she wanted to be with Tine, and she was willing to take a chance and see where this relationship could go.
As they left the bar and headed home, Julia couldn't shake the feeling that she had just taken a huge step in her life. She had always been focused on her career, but now she knew that there was room for love as well. And with Tine by her side, she felt ready to take on whatever the future held.

Hi! Have you seen the Diabolik 2? I'd love to know what you thought <3
yes, i have!!! back in december i went to the cinema with mom to watch it, because it's our thing and honestly it's wasn't too bad. the thing about diabolik movies is that they have to walk this line between being true to the source while not looking dumb and to me both movies managed to find that sweet spot in between.
they're silly if you take them at face value, but if you apply your comic book filter on them then they're really good!
the actors too are lovely, there's this quality to their acting that i enjoy. where they do it seriously 99% of the time, because for the characters that's their reality (this comic book-like world and life, the noir vibes, the burglaries, the plan within the plan within the plan, the over the top everything) but you get that leftover 1% every once in a while with a bit of tongue in cheek acting that ties everything up very well.
i read some reviews a while back that were very critical of the dialogue, "no one talks like this" and like..... yeah. no one in real life, but that's literally how they speak in the comics! word for word, vibe for vibe.
diabolik and eva especially are so so extra, they talk to and about each other like the other has put the moon and stars in the sky. they WILL stop in the middle of a heist to praise each other and god knows they'll delay their escape to declare their undying love for each other for the nth time. most diabolik issues WILL end with them passionately making out. and this doesn't have anything to do with the movie(s) specifically but just to give you an idea of how okay i personally was with the way they handled the dialogue (which again was one of the biggest criticism i read against both movies)
as for the plot in general, we had it figured out before the first act was even done lmao this is praise btw! it was, again, very in line with any given diabolik comic. it COULD very well be one, though i can't think of any specific issue rn (unlike the first movie were some scenes i recognized immediately, even with how they adapted it for the screen!) it's likely they squished together a few tbh diabolik comics are quite short
there's some stuff that was boring for me too, but even that was done in a very diabolik-esque manner so i won't even complain.
overall, i think if someone's not into this kind of movie they won't particularly enjoy it. as a diabolik movie? four out of five stars, would recommend <3

ive realized that stan is the only character that i really know the least about so i’ve found a nice comprehensive playlist of all the times mark played as him and my god i forget how wild gta rp can be LMFAO
i’m writing down a bunch of this stuff as i watch / research the wiki so i dont forget and can fix his file later but here’s a glimpse if you don’t know stan well hgfjk
denise is stan’s ex wife and roy is his bio son ( going by they/he pronouns imo )
stan wants to own a water delivery service, but in the meantime he does deliver other things until his business takes off
he is very susceptible to being kidnapped as he is so trusting
to some he claims to be a 39 -year-old virgin but in the monologues ,in his head, he clearly accounts having lost his family, wife and son. he admits to jimmy that his son was born despite him never having sex with his wife. at an earlier point, jimmy asks about the type of interactions his ex-wife had with adult males in their homestead and stan responds to each hypothetical by recounting an experience that matches each situation exactly. this implies that roy the water boy is not stan's biological son, and may e the byproduct of any number of extramarital affairs that stan was ignorant of.
stan is a delivery driver in the day, very passionate about water, hates coffee. he does various side jobs and assists often unwittingly in crimes
at some point he tells jimmy that he was willing to dive deep into crack, prostitution, other drugs until jimmy showed him burglary is a better option
jerry  ( pizza delivery and plumber) probably nailed denise
carlos the old landscaper also probably in an affair w denise
had a male babysitter who was probably nailing denise
his wife left him for a french-canadian man named frédérique who used to clean their pool. he was beautiful and stan feels like he could never compete with that. in another story he was supposedly his divorce lawyer & is why he lost custody of roy
stan gets bouts of violence especially when water or his fanny pack is being disrespected, anc calls coffee the Devil’s Juice or Devil’s Drink. his fanny pack is a touchy subject which he explains by its utilitarian benefits of having everything that he needs readily available at all times.
jimmy, kiki, and eugene are acquaintances, jimmy more of a business partner-in-crime and called friendly j, friendly, or friendly jimmy by stan. kiki chanel is an old dating prospect && supposedly one who led to his coma that he experienced, although with little info on that one. eugene was an old man he met briefly when kidnapped by those last two and forced to peruse eugene’s mansion before being made to leave when accused of checking out eugene’s late wife
he thinks the best of everyone and seldom realizes that what he's doing is criminal or illegal  —  an alternative is that he is probably in denial of things to keep his friends and in which would "stuff" his issues/problems deep with in him and would come out in "demon form" when he would take the pill form "oxy".
stan often has lengthy dialogues with himself inside his head. often "arguing with the voices inside of his head".
sometimes he can't help himself from smashing and breaking coffee machines.
he has a tendency to accidentally jerk and punch random people, blaming it on a "delayed adrenal system".
stan's middle name, as revealed by kiki, is elizabeth. he does not know how she gained this knowledge.
whenever stan consumes an oxy pill his voice changes into a demon-like voice and he will chase down jimmy but he will go back to normal stan eventually
HEADCANON ZONE
i dont think space implicated the viewer to be “roy” properly, i don’t imagine that sort of thing was on purpose, but i think it put the viewer in the shoes of that person for that scene as the multiverse was collapsing in on itself. it gave a glimpse of a single shared weekend at a father who just likes to help people,, sometimes a misguided in doing so.
in his main verse, you could certainly consider him to be living in los santos. all of the above applies, he’s a simple man looking to hydrate the world who just often finds himself at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong sort of people. but his kindheartedness usually gets him by.
he likes cats
the only weapons he will ever use are blunt objects of any kind
he has zero interest in alcohol but might partake in an occasional drug if convinced

'Christopher Nolan, known for his mind-bending narratives and visually stunning films, has become one of the most celebrated directors of our time. This month marks the release of what is arguably the biggest movie of his career so far, Oppenheimer. Between amassing a cast of highly sought-after actors that includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr. (among many others) and pulling off a nuclear explosion without CGI, it's safe to say that Oppenheimer is one of the most anticipated movies of the year.
With movies like Inception, The Dark Knight Trilogy, and Interstellar under his belt, it's easy to overlook Nolan's humble beginnings. We take a step back in time and explore Nolan's directorial debut, Following. Released in 1998, this black and white neo-noir film sets the stage for Nolan's signature style and offers a glimpse into the mind of a budding genius.
What Is Following About? Following tells the story of a young, unnamed writer (played by Jeremy Theobald) who becomes fascinated with the lives of strangers. His curiosity leads him to a life of petty burglary, breaking into people's homes and observing their lives, until he crosses paths with a charismatic thief named Cobb (played by Alex Haw). Cobb takes the writer under his wing, introducing him to the world of professional burglary and manipulation. As the plot unfolds, the lines between reality and fiction blur, and the protagonist finds himself entangled in a web of deceit and intrigue.
Thematically, Following delves into the concepts of identity, obsession, and the consequences of one's actions. Nolan explores the notion of voyeurism and the allure of anonymity, as the writer finds himself both drawn to and repelled by the secrets he uncovers. The film raises questions about the nature of storytelling and the power dynamics that exist within relationships. With its non-linear narrative structure, Following challenges the audience to piece together the fragmented puzzle and engage in an active viewing experience.
How Following Gave Us a Visionary Filmmaker Following serves as a testament to Nolan's emerging talent as a filmmaker. Shot on a shoestring budget and using guerrilla-style techniques, the film showcases Nolan's resourcefulness and ability to craft a compelling story with limited resources. The use of black and white cinematography not only adds to the film's noir aesthetic, but also helps to create a sense of timelessness and mystery, which explains why audiences gave the film an 85% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The remaining reasons for its positive reception probably come from the fact that Nolan's trademark narrative complexity is already evident in Following. The film employs a non-linear structure, jumping back and forth in time to gradually reveal crucial details and deepen the suspense. This narrative experimentation would become a hallmark of Nolan's later works, captivating audiences and challenging conventional storytelling.
Following also introduces some recurring themes and motifs that have come to define Nolan's filmography. The exploration of identity, moral ambiguity, and the manipulation of time all find their roots in this early work. Additionally, the film showcases Nolan's meticulous attention to detail, as every frame and line of dialogue is carefully constructed to convey meaning and evoke emotion.
Christopher Nolan’s Projects After Following
