i have never read my writing! i just did. some was good, some was bad, here's my review and at the end there's a tier list C:

actively throwing up i hated every little bit of that i'm so glad i'm rewriting that oh my god why was that so popular?? 🤢

okay the idea for this was like actually awesome, i loved having dream like kinda do into that trance thingy and having it fade in later. and i like how i incorporated "bitter stares" into it.

however there's a severe lack of dialogue and the action is drawn out, far too short and not properly there

Noodling on an "Oops! Back In Time!" story idea where the Straw Hats sail through a Grand Line anomaly or whatever and wake up as they were about thirteen years in the past.

Robin is seventeen, still on the run in West Blue. She'd wake up, run down the list of her nakama to decide who needs help first: Franky and Jimbe are grown men already, they're fine, they can handle themselves. The East Blue crew are all little kids. To the best of her knowledge the tragedies that shaped their lives haven't happened yet and won't for a while. They're safe for now.

Chopper is a baby reindeer, probably hasn't eaten his fruit yet. Brook is currently unreachable to her, without a ship or a crew, but Franky is right there in Water 7 with a fleet of battleships that he needs to get rid of before they can be used to frame Tom. Maybe she can assume he'll take care of it.

Sanji is still in Germa kingdom. He's not safe at all.

Robin, who only looks seventeen, pulls out her mad skills as a spy and top-tier pirate and member of the actual Revolutionary Army and hustles to North Blue in record time, snapping necks and serving cunt the whole way. She infiltrates the fuck out of Germa 66 and is on the palace flagship before you can say Security Clearance. Robin's not stupid enough to dangle the poneglyphs or the Ancient Weapons in front of Judge: that's a carrot he would never stop chasing. No, she claims to have details of Vegapunk and Caesar's work on artificial devil fruits, counting on spite to get her through. It does. Robin was at Punk Hazard and Dressrosa and Wano: she knows enough details to make it plausible, and she's a trained academic to boot. She can make it sound right, even if it's not her field, even if it's made-up nonsense that will hopefully have Judge chasing his own tail for years.

Meanwhile, every night she's sending eyes and ears all over the palace looking for the missing third prince. Officially, the kingdom is still in mourning for the double tragedy of losing their Queen and one of the princes in quick succession. Robin cannot find any trace of grief in Judge or his remaining children, even when she's invited to dine with the royal family (there are still two empty chairs at the table, and she's ushered into one of them as though it was nothing. Luckily, she's had decades of keeping calm in the face of casual brutality to perfectly hone her poker face).

It doesn't take her long to find the stairs going down, down into the dark. And there's a dungeon at the bottom, a barred cell containing an eight-year old child who looks so much smaller than his brothers. He's covered in bruises and there's a metal horror wrapped around his head and casual brutality be damned, there are two wolves inside Robin right now and one of them wants to sit down and weep and the other one wants to snap Judge's neck and then tear this castle down brick by brick. Except. Tiny Sanji is doing a one-handed handstand in the middle of his cell. It's a bit wobbly, and he tumbles off-balance when he sees her, but there's nothing wobbly about the smile on the little she can see of his face when he runs to her.

"Robin-chwan!" he chirps, hugging her through the bars. "I knew I couldn't be the only one who came back! I'm so lucky to be rescued by such a dashing lady!" He peers at her through the helmet, eyes huge and blue and earnest. "You got here so fast! Who else is with you? Are you OK?"

And it's just so Sanji, who knows as well as she does where the rest of the crew is-better, probably-to think that she'd go to anyone else before coming here. As though his problems could wait while everyone else is taken care of first.

"Now that I've found you I'm quite alright, Sanji. The crew is just you and me for now, but I'm sure we'll soon change that."

He does a little spin of delight at having her all to himself, and it's the simple glee of a small child spending time with a favourite person. Robin smiles, and retrieves the keys, and holds his tiny hand all of the way out of the castle as he chatters about how amazing she is and who they'll go to find next. They sail away, leaving the palace in flames behind them.

i kind of like maybe just a little adore the new clue set cards like. the clue set itself is a weird and overpriced product and the physical cards themselves are definitely gonna be stupid overpriced because nobody wants to buy a board game to crack packs but like. the cards themselves? kind of fire?

i kind of adore that theyre not just all rares and we are getting clue set commons and stuff :3 its cute! and we're getting a new lonis too-- its not a super interesting card but i adore lonis and im very excited to play with more of her. and we get an interesting new land cycle in the cluelands too! the art for them kinda blows at the moment but at some point in the future i assume they'll be reprinted in a set that gives them fun and interesting art? maybe? please? im not exactly itching to play them but ill never turn down another cycle of duals teehee

id love to talk about some individual cards from the lineup so far that i adore! these are just my top picks but id recommend going and looking at the full list spoiled so far on scryfall :3

for starters, my favorite card from the whole spoiler season right now i think has to be scuttling sentinel. i dont think i want to play her in any commander deck, but in my opinion this is like one of the top cards for cubes in 2024 period-- like cankerbloom tier of cube card. she's awesome! a crab elf which is such an awesome creature type, playable with green or blue, puts 1/1 counters on things and its main draw is just being a decent body that offers protection :) she's great!!!! ive already slotted her into the cube ive been piecing together recently. i like her a lot.

resonance technician is such a cool spell copier <3 every part of it is kind of expensive so im not really sure where youd play it but it does a lot of cool things all at once on a single card which is fun! the flavor is cool-- we all love weirds here-- and the functionality is useful and cute. cool card. big fan

we also have portal manipulator who is like one of the weirdest and strongest combat tricks ive ever seen? this is like if aetherize also fucked your shit in. so i can absolutely see this seeing a lot of play honestly. but lets be real here this card just has amazing art. thheres portals around her skull !!! god shes so cool.

corporeal projection gets a shoutout because what a fun effect <3 it being izzet is awesome and on-flavor and the card itself is both an interesting choice to give your creature myriad for extra damage and a fun wincon :) im glad theres a simple and convenient way to give one creature myriad now that isn't a brick to run in my commander decks because it has a high-cost endgame mode. yay!

finally it wouldnt be a goqmir set review if i didnt shout out the new cards that work well in Naya Cast From Exile :3 Boros Strike-Captain seems kind of mid but it's important to remember that the card never goes away, and you can cast it any time after when you attack with at least 3 creatures even if BSC is off the battlefield. big fan of this one! im not sure if i can find the space to jam him in my Rocco Street Chef decklist but he's a very playable option.

Personally, i think Headliner Scarlett is the winner this set. She's a very good hit pretty much any time-- you're always gonna get a minimum of 4 free damage when she sticks, and if you play her early you get some pretty strong card advantage, which turns into very very strong card advantage in both Rocco and Prosper. if you pull her late, she can win you the game straight up by allowing you to swing out uninhibited-- though i can't speak for Prosper players, this will pretty much always be at minimum a knock out if you pull it lategame in Rocco. definitely making room for her in my decklist.

anyway thats just some cards i liked from the weird product thats coming out :3 i was and still am iffy on purchasing the product and expect the cards to be a little too expensive but as far as designs go they're pretty cool and im very happy that they exist! um sqrrk <3

here's my tier list of the pirate101 worlds and also thoughts about them/why they are ranked this way.

long post incoming and also spoilers for the whole game basically! you've been warned

--

S tier;

Marleybone- this is my absolute favorite world in the game! To see the consequences of our actions unfold was such an amazing experience. When I entered the world for the first time after being told by the NPC that it was, "an active warzone." I thought, how bad could it be?

it was, indeed, bad. I remember my awe looking at all the destruction and hearing the blast of the beachhead cannons for the first time scared me so bad. Only one thought crossed my mind, "we fucked up."

Overall the whole world is awesome! The aesthetic, the plot, catbeard being catbeard, bishop my beloved, Bonnie's promo, and just everything! The only bone I have to pick is that I wish it was longer.

Also the soundtrack is top tier, the skyway theme is on a permanent loop in my wizard101 darkmoor manor.

A tier;

Cool Ranch- definitely my second favorite world! I understand people don't like the length, but personally, I wasn't bothered by it at all. The two filler arcs were actually super fun.

Atmosphere was top tier, story was awesome, we get El Toro 🎺🎺, and funny puns to which I'm easily amused by

I wish the skyways were not super long; the world definitely would have gone down a tier if there was no Uber. I'd physically start sobbing if the Uber costed crowns.

Best ost is the haunted saloon theme with the piano. It is also played in my darkmoor manor, the spooky vibes are indeed immaculate.

Valencia- This world would have been S tier if it wasn't for part two dragging it down. The first part was awesome and I just overall love the steampunk aesthetic.

The music is awesome and it's just overall a great experience. The Kane fight was awesome and the cutscene at the end of the game was such a surprise! It spooked me a bit from the overall unexpectedness.

However, part two is indeed rushed and it makes me long for what it could have been. Nonetheless, I try to appreciate the good parts and for what we got.

B tier;

Skull Island- The OG world, an enjoyable experience.

It is, however, in B tier due to it being more of a prologue. It's definitely not a bad thing and does an awesome job for what it is.

Ratbeard's questline was the best part!

The Isle of Doom felt like a bit of a drag, however.

Monquista- It is good for what it is, and I liked the civil war aspect. The world building for the religion there was also super interesting. However, the world is very short and the skyways are long.

The visuals were awesome, I loved the pink sky and just the overall stark difference from Skull Island- a good fit for the first world. It was also quite hilarious how small the doors and stuff were, which, of course, makes sense- but the thought of how the Young Pirate fits through them along with the crew is so funny to think about.

C tier;

Mooshu- This world was very beautiful and interesting, don't get me wrong. It was a definite step above Wizard Mooshu and did everything right.

The jokes were hilarious, I laughed for a solid minute at the "Threaten the Chicken" and when that one guy died.

However, there are two main reasons why this world is placed how it is.

The reasons go hand-in-hand. Marleybone is the world directly after it and I've heard SO MUCH about how good it was, how it was awesome, and stuff. Because of this, Mooshu felt like a drag because I couldn't wait to get to Marleybone- my hype was uncontained so Mooshu felt like a brick wall that I had to climb.

I wish I could have enjoyed it more, but if I ever play through Pirate again, I will feel the same way due to how good Marleybone is.

D tier;

Aquilla- Aquilla, Aquilla, Aquilla, oh where do I start.

I loved the concept of it, to finally go visit the world only seen in snippets in Wizard. However, there was no original content whatsoever. It was all just retellings of famous stories.

Now, some are fine, but when it's the exact same thing every time with nothing new it gets old extremely fast.

It definitely does not help that Aquilla comes after the most solid world in the game, Marleybone. It felt like a drag I had to go through till I could finally finish the game.

Also it was very much a defeat-and-collect quest hell.

The best part of Aquilla was Hawkules, who I very much enjoyed. He is awesome, but not much is done with him. This isn't Aquilla's fault though, as Valencia part two rushed to the finish line.

Miscellaneous;

Dragonspyre- While this world is in the D tier, it's there because I couldn't add another tier. I wish Avernus skyway could have been expanded upon as I love crossovers between Pirate and Wizard, it makes the Spiral feel so much more fleshed out and 3D. Alas, we did not get much.

Spiral Skyways- The skyways you have to travel to get to different worlds were awesome! The scenery is so beautiful and it just gives me so many thoughts about lore and how things work on the spiral: breathing in "space," how ships float in the sky, differences between fish that can fly and water fish biological wise, windstones, where did the stones come from, and so much more!!

I love pondering the games lore so much ajajeoekcorncn

The Common Grid War enters round 9, and we have Liza, Drake, and Noland joining the gridded.  You may notice, the tiers have changed considerably since last ranking.  This is due to a major overhaul in how I’m doing this.

In looking over last month’s, I realized...I’m not really doing this up to a specific standard.  Some are lower or higher based on how good the grid works.  Good energy cost, good placement, but it doesn’t necessarily reflect their performance.  Comparatively, some are played really high based on performance, despite a disaster of a grid, Roxanne.  With Drake and Liza also getting...just atrocious grids, I’ve decided that this should become entirely about their functional performance when used.  For the upcoming grids, I’ll be placing based on anticipated utility from their known tools.  This will be based largely on their consistent utility and use.  If a unit has a good grid, but ultimately is never used because each attempt makes me sad, they’re not going to be placed all that high.  Conversely, a bad grid on a unit that still receives consistent use will rank higher.  Unfortunately, this does introduce confounds like Candice, who I have EX.  An EX Candice functions far differently than a non-EX, but it’s almost impossible to assess her in a form I no longer have access to.  So while it may be a bit unfair, this will be on overall utility, rather than perceived utility at a specific point.  Which means yes, receiving EX is a boost.  This will be a long, wordy post because of how I am as a person, but using the new criteria, I want to be clear about why everyone’s placements changed in the way they did.

F-TIER

Wulfric - I have never used Wulfric.  Not really.  I can’t bring myself to do it.  His only real utility is in a slight flinch and freeze rate, that isn’t worth talking about.  His physical bulk is something, but I don’t really consider any of his tools to be all that exceptional.

Thorton - Thorton gets to be above him because of EX access, but I’ve never used him, and will never make him EX.  I’ve seen showcases of him doing some work, including utility against Cresslia by making all attacks connect.  But he also goes down like a sack of bricks and leaves the team on cleanup duty against a +6 evasion Cresselia so like...that’s not exactly helping, friend.

D-TIER

Grant - Grant is on thin ice, dude.  I get that he has natural Aggravation with Rock Slide, but he’s obnoxious.  His natural sync multiplier is flinch, which is a disaster.  His sync nuke isn’t even good even when set up perfectly.  Grant is just...disappointing.  In like every way, Grant is sad.  I can’t quite give him F-tier, I do break him out sometimes for the flinch rate in Gauntlet, but this is a bottom of the barrel utility, and being three-bar, he needs gauge support or your actual attackers can’t get attacks in.

SS Brock - The exact same issues as Grant.  I’m putting him above Grant solely because SS Brock has not given me the same tremendous level of disappointment, and I imagine the EX at least means he can pretend to compete in CS.  Shame about Cakewalk.

Valerie - I’m lifting Valerie out of F-Tier.  She isn’t good, make no mistake, but she’s actually done some work in both CS and Gauntlet, so I hesitate to say she’s borderline without value.  But I can’t reasonably go much higher than this.  Valerie’s sync is weak, with only one multiplier that’s alright.  Her healing is alright, but she didn’t even get Master Healer.  Disarming Voice is nice AoE, if nothing else.  Valerie could be so much better than she is, but she’s...fine.

Noland - He’s Bugsy again, but with better self-setup.  My problem is that his self-setup is slow, and requires 5 turns and a lot of energy.  He’s better off just taking regular support anyway.  Noland doesn’t impress me too much.  He’s another in a growing list of common Strikers who’d be way different if he had an EX.

Bugsy - Same tune as Noland, but I rank Bugsy a bit higher because of Poison.  I know it’s not a huge deal, but the added chip damage and potential to help answer Uxie, if nothing else, is nice.  Though in CS, you’ll usually turn off status conditions so it’s a moot point.

C-TIER

Drake - I’m sticking with it.  EX Support should be bigger, but I don’t care for Drake.  Which is odd because I like defensive supports.  But he’s really slow, his buffs are separated so you take twice as long to boost defenses as BP Morty, he has effectively no healing, and his grid is one of the worst disasters I’ve ever seen.  I’m sure he’ll have some use, I’ve used him myself...as a partner to SS Serena in Gauntlet, since she just needs defense and she’s fine.  But I’m ready to try Drake’s grid out and be whelmed.

Will - I’ve never used Will as anything but a Flinch bot.  Confuse is nice, but also kinda eh.  His sync multipliers are great and free, and his Stored Power is nice damage.  But his self-setup is garbage, he needs tremendous support, his trainer move is borderline worthless, and the only consistent part of him is Air Slash Aggravation.  Considering he’s a Psychic type, you’d expect me to have more appreciation for him, but the over-saturated typing combined with high support needs just makes me overlook him constantly.

Crasher Wake - Wake is legitimately good, if he gets things where he wants them.  Nice flinch rate is great for Gauntlet, but my reason for placing him low is that, while his grid has great tools for him, he can’t get what he wants.  Being self-sufficient means giving up on another Aggravation 1.  Taking both means giving up sync multipliers.  It’s rough.  And because he has Grant’s curse of needing the flinch for sync damage, it’s inconsistent and, frankly, annoying.  He doesn’t perform as well as you’d hope based on the hypotheticals of his kit.

Kahili - While having the same problems as Bugsy and Noland, Kahili may be up here solely due to my exposure and consistent use of her for F2P clears of Flying stages.  But the real thing that works out, in my book, is guaranteed crit on sync, and an Endure effect.  The Endure effect has come in so clutch, and is paying dividends in the meta of AoE moves.  Add in the choice between Super Preparation for on-type, and Defense Crush for Gauntlet or off-type, and Kahili’s honestly pretty solid.  If she had EX, she’d be A-tier at minimum.

Ramos - Sleep chaining is hard and I don’t like doing it, but Ramos is good at it and when it works it is devastating.  By overall function, Ramos likely should be higher, given how hard he can lock a match down.  But this is quite literally all he supplies, and people are not lying when they say gauges can become a real issue without substantial support.  Shoutouts for having X Speed, but it’s often not enough.  But the biggest contributor is just that I don’t like sleep.  It’s annoying, it doesn’t last more than two seconds in most matches, I hate it, I don’t find it consistent.

B-TIER

Brycen - I will actually, legitimately die on this hill.  Brycen’s Haze utility is enough to put him up here.  Coutering Cresselia and Latias is enough to put you above the rest, but with modern CS meta, I feel like he’s not a bad pick for a fill-in spot, given how many in Hoenn CS are packing things like Tough Cookie, Haymaker, etc.  I also feel like his freeze chance is underrated.  30% may not be great, but that’s what most MGRs are, and we rely on that constantly.  In Gauntlet, he gets more freezes than you’d expect.

Sophocles - High flinch rate, guaranteed paralysis which is always nice. Unfortunately both are higher gauge costs, and despite having a potentially great sync nuke, it’s absurdly hard to set up and costs him utility tools.  Still love him, but he’s definitely got some limitations.

Liza - I am dreaming, but please do not wake me.  Liza was good at the outset, and really just needed MPR to finish the buffing.  Unfortunately, that’s about all she got.  Natural Remedy and Quick Cure are nice counterpick skills, but niche.  Healthy Healing and Synchro Healing are nice, but Healthy Healing only works when you attack, and Liza’s likely to spend her whole life buffing so it offers nothing, while Synchro Healing means she’d have to take sync, and that’s really not advised.  I wish she got First Aid 4.  That would’ve been so much nicer.  Or hell, gotten EX over Drake.  Then she’d have a reason to use sync ever.

Wikstrom - Wikstrom is fantastic self-setup, great finch rate, good damage and good sync, all in one wonderful package.  So why only B?  Because he’s frail beyond belief.  AoE moves, especially the guaranteed crits of Gauntlet, absolutely annihilate him.  It’s bad.  And despite having relatively nice damage, he’s not that consistent in CS for me.  I’ve had legitimate trouble getting him to work as intended.  I still think he’s really good, and got an incredibly optimized grid.  But...I dunno, he’s just not pushing into the tier of super impressive damage dealers.

Whitney - I like her utility.  Paralysis is the best status to have access to for Gauntlet, hitting Uxie, Cobalion, and Tornadus, with Cobalion being most susceptible to paralysis.  Combine that with a high flinch rate, and Whitney’s in business.  Fire Guard also means she’s better protected in Moltres fights where your goal is flinch locking and letting a Sun abuser beat it down.  Whitney isn’t a super standout, but I really like the utility she brings. And if desired, she has a sync nuke.  It’s not great, but the damage continues to surprise me. Combining all that with solid bulk and a healing move?  Whitney’s good.  I like her a lot.

Brawly - Brawly has a lot of good utility traits.  Guaranteed debuffs on Rock Smash, a decent sync nuke, Potion support.  They even gave him speed debuffs half the time on his useless Brick Break, which...don’t, but it’s neat that it’s there.  My main issue with Brawly is that, while he’s generally kinda useful, he’s super slow about it.  -1 single-target debuff isn’t fast acting, and is mostly helpful for Gauntlet.  Potion is nice, but again, mostly for Gauntlet.  Everything about this dude is...mostly for Gauntlet.  He does not thrive in the CS meta, as far as I’m concerned.  And on that note...Hitmontop.  Eggmon Hitmontop does exactly the same debuffing he does, but is more consistent with the speed drops.  It doesn’t have potion, but it does have Terrify.  So...his competition is an eggmon.  I feel like that’s a problem.

A-TIER

Mina - I love debuffs.  Charm is a great one, keeping the team alive reliably, but also kicking off all her new multipliers.  Mina can deal serious damage on sync, and decent move damage as well, while contributing to an overall debuff comp.  She does sit kind of on the border here, though.  This is about her only utility, but “do one thing really well” is a valid strategy, and can often be better than “do a bunch of things poorly.”

Siebold - Big funny EX sync man.  I don’t have EX, and never will, but I have used him now against Entei.  His sync is...pretty good.  I also actually really like the synergy of his trainer move.  The guaranteed crit on sync leads into +1 crit in general, and he can pretty reliably hit max crit rate himself.  Siebold is surprisingly self-sufficient, I really appreciate that. And he’s bulky!  With gradual healing!   I’m...way more impressed with him than I thought.

Marley - Marley has been this surprising knockout success in my book.  The longer things go on, the more I start recommending Marley not just in F2P comps, but legitimate teams.  Team Sharp Entry really is incredible, and it’s going to be the only thing that might salvage Drake for me.  But while Drake is defense buffing, Marley is speed, and speed buffing is tremendously valuable for slower offensive units.  Moreover, high burn rate that she can actually afford to get, and the potential to top off an offensive stat, as well as Team Fire Guard.  Marley does a lot for a common support.

Bruno - Super self-sufficient, versatile in picking up the buffing slack from potential allies, great move damage in Cross Chop, and a pretty nice grid.  What I do think holds him back is the low accuracy needing both Accuracy +10 and Precision Entry to fix.  This is energy intensive, and often results in Bruno having to give something up.  Smart Cookie as a move multiplier is also a little rough, since his trainer move is often the only thing that’s going to buff it up.  Also, unlike Gardenia, if you want to attack quickly, his needed support often needs a combination of attack and crit.  Maylene partners really well, but until she gets a grid, it’s a notable limitation.

Gardenia - Gardenia would be an S-tier if she had EX, or didn’t need to rely on Sun.  But she doesn’t, and she does, so upper A-tier is fine.   Gardenia’s Leaf Storm hits like a truck, I have absolutely deleted sides in CS stages in a single Leaf Storm.  Being able to cap her crit while packing Grand Entry on grid also means she’s a good combo to Rosa on F2P comps, who should only be 1/5 she’s not good enough for candy, and kicks off theme skills while supplying an EX Support bonus.  Gardenia lives by her move damage, and thankfully, it’s extremely good damage.  I love getting to break out Gardenia.

Cheryl - Alright.  Honesty hour.  Cheryl...is still really good, but I don’t think can be considered for top billing anymore.  I did a review of CS and Gauntlet clears, and while Cheryl is always among the Gauntlet clears, she’s rarely among the CS clears.  Sometimes it works out.  Other times, it does not.  And with mixed offense and spread damage coming out in big ways, a lot of her issues can become more pronounced.  I still love Cheryl’s abilities.  Special attack and speed buffing at once is great.  A Potion that boosts both defenses by 2 is great.  Built-in Vigilance so she can take Status Immunity and block things like Cresselia, Tornadus’ Toxic, or CS Go Viral strats, is huge, and something even many premium supports wish they had.  But Cheryl is notably more limited than being an S-tier.  I still love her, and bring her to every match I can, and will always argue that the low defense isn’t as bad as claimed (though it’s really bad for CS without Endure).  But given her inability to participate as strongly in CS as she does in Gauntlet, I’m dropping her to A-tier.

S-TIER

Winona - Let me address the obvious criticism: “No MPR on Rain Dance.”  Yes.  This is stupid.  But in contrast, excellent sync multipliers, high flinch rate on Air Slash, and has the Rain support at all as an F2P option.  I’ll be the first to admit that Winona...really struggles in that regard.  Add in that she can’t buff her special attack or crit rate independently, and this really doesn’t...feel like an S-tier.  But every single time I use her?  That feels like an S-tier.  She was good before the grid, and after the grid, she’s a menace.  She provides so much useful utility, and can pivot into a serious primary damage dealer with support.  And unlike a lot of the commons that have “really good damage,” it’s not all in sync.  Hurricane is legitimately powerful move damage.  Considering the blend of utility and offense, I do think this places Winona above units like Bruno and Gardenia, who may be better damage, but have far less overall utility.

Roxanne - See, this is what Liza’s grid should’ve been.  Yeah, Roxanne’s grid isn’t good, it barely accounts for much of anything, but Endure and a fourth stat to buff at least makes her Hilbert and Halloween Caitlin Lite.  Roxanne’s high defensive stats makes her solid at Gauntlet, with Wide Guard shutting down the most dangerous attack in a match with ease.  Meanwhile, in CS, she’s able to take the high powered hits, and Endure all but ensures survival through the first three moves, ensuring maximum buff is provided.  Roxanne’s grid is simple, but it’s effective, and does absolutely everything it needs to, even without healing.

Candice - This is cheating.  This is such cheating.  The EX salvages so much.  I remember before the EX, when I just had her grid, and people would go on about how no no, Candice is still good, she can handle things without the EX.  No she didn’t.  Her sync nuke would often be just short, and given her pathetic move damage, that was a massive problem.  Needing partners that can thrive in Hail is also rough.  But...Candice also gets everything she wants.  Inertia was the perfect multiplier alongside Fleet Feet on X Speed.  Getting Follow-Through for guaranteed crit on Hail is perfect for eliminating the need for crit support; it’s not like her move damage will do much.  And if you do go for the EX?  Candice can off-type.  She almost did it this week, against the busted Hoeen CS, on an F2P budget.  If I were able to bring premium support, I’m certain she could’ve handled it.  Candice is actually that good.  Functionally, I don’t think it’s a contest.  At the point you are offensively pushing into clearing stages off-type, and are part of some of the most consistent clears in Gauntlet despite mostly being there for sync damage?  You’ve made it.

2 Kings 25: 22-26. "The Banks."

The Constitution embodies all that is good and wise about what is taught in the Church without the expense of its superstitions and changes in thrust or direction. Life is ultimately a secular experience that is divinified by the bedrock understanding of religion. At all points the laws of the land hold sway over how life works.

Even still, religion,poses a risk to how life unfolds due its disparity of opinions about the former. For this reason the Book of Kings says Nebuchadnezzar, the Constitutional Leader resorts to Gedaliah, "central banks and seats in government" and Shaphan, the wealth of a community that floats from the bottom up.

Gedaliah=

The verb גדל (gadel) means to become strong or great, particularly by combining many ordinary elements into a big strong strand or collection of some sort.

The noun מגדל (migdal) or מגדול (migdol) literally describes a place or agent for greatness. It's the word for tower, and a tower is not only a big strong thing consisting of many bricks, it also formed the center of a community around which all houses and all activity unfolded. From their tower people kept lookout over the community's territories, and launched offensives when the community was attacked.

A tower could carry a fire and from it folks trumpeted signals. Towers drew its people from wherever they might roam. Over time they developed into central storage houses, banks and seats of government. Towers are buildings around which the greatness of a people forms and in which it becomes manifested.

Participle or adjective גדל (gadel) means a becoming great or growing up. Noun גדל (godel) means greatness or pride. Plural noun גדלים (gedilim) refers to tassels or festoons made from twisted strands. The very common adjectives גדול (gadol) and גדולה (gadola) mean great. Noun גדולה (gedulla) means greatness or great one.

Nebuchadnezzar appoints Gedaliah to establish order over Israel and Judah:

22 Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon appointed Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to be over the people he had left behind in Judah. 

23 When all the army officers and their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah as governor, they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah—Ishmael son of Nethaniah, Johanan son of Kareah, Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, Jaazaniah the son of the Maakathite, and their men.

Government, governors and the wealth come from the lowest tier of society, meaning the most rudimentary the equivalent of producers in the plant and animal kingdom. They are farmers, eucators, and those that perform public works. They are, for the most part unseen by us but without plenty of them and superlative investment in their upkeep, society has not one prayer at all of surviving.

Imagine the conversations little kids are overhearing now as politicians debate the importance of a bunch of frozen gunk over the decline in our abilities to produce food, shelter, pay teachers, arrest the damage to the climate, rebuild the millions of destroyed homes, rehouse and care for all the displaced lives we've caused, or busy the dismembered body parts that are littering areas of the world.

The priority list is out of whack. The advice the House of Government gives us: "settle the land and serve the Principals of Constitution and all will go well."

And what does the Constitution say? Have you read it lately?

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Do any of you feel like the Republicans are worried about the general Welfare or are interested in protecting anyone except a bunch of unborn jellyfish eggs? Did you know the Government can spend as much as it wants in order to take good care of us? It has no limits on spending if Americans are not faring well. Does anyone feel like we are securing the Blessings of Liberty for the sake of ourselves or Posterity by allowing the Russians to pound sand right straight up inside the assholes of the Ukrainians after they came to us and sincerely asked us for help, help we are more than able to give?

All of these things mentioned in the Constitution are called Shaphan, they are the sentiments that become the wealth all human beings are legally required to possess by their governments. America is supposed to lead in the distrubution of this highly sentimental wealth and we never ever do it, not even for ourselves. We are always too busy with other things.

And the second our enemies sensed were soft in the head about our identities, they Crischcoed their hands and shoved.

=2015, the beginning of the end. Also "witness the miracle."

In spite of the attempts at making Constitutional Government sound appealing, it doesn't work. The people run and hide.

The Values in Gematria are:

v. 22: Nebuchadnezzar appointed Gedaliah as governor. The Governor is our willingness to uphold obeisance to legislation. The Self must govern whether or not to sin, the Governor must decide whether or not to enforce the law, especially within his own office. Many of our governors are obssessed with abortion and Pro-Life is a crime and this is costing us big time and has to be stopped.

We must be able to expect our governors to perform in the name of the people and stand up for what is right, Ahikam, and many are not doing this.

v. 23: They came to Gedaliah at Mizpah.

Mizpah= the watchtower.

Ishmael son of Nethaniah= "who hears, reports, and obeys" son of "what graces God gives, give back to others."

Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite= "This cures social stagnation" son of "it prevents scavenging and creates permanence" and is the "distillation of the Words of Moses, the Balsam of God."

Root שרר (sharar) has to do with rigidity resulting from the absorption and retention of liquids (called turgor in plants), liquidity in economy, or data in IT and so on — and the ultimate effects thereof. The promise of Jesus', that streams of living water would emerge from within (John 7:38), tells of a curing of social lymphedema, when pools of stagnant wealth (whether fat, cash or data) are re-released into society to benefit all (for more on this, see our article on the noun δουλος, doulos).

The verb נטף (natap) means to drop, drip or distil. Noun נטף (natap) means drop and was also the name of a odoriferous gum. Noun נטיפה (netipa) refers to a sort of drop shaped jewelry.

Jaazaniah the son of the Maakathite= "to equalize by turning one's face towards others" son of the "is the pressure to avoid oppression."

If life goes well now, it will certainly go well later. If it does not go well now, it could still go well later but it is better if prosperity doubles rather than wanes in its properties and has to be reestablished.

v. 25: In the Seventh Month, Ten Men Assassinated Gedaliah. The hypothetical society we are discussing put the words down on paper but did not want to follow the Decrees and violated every last one. The government was assassinated by Ishmael son of Nethaniah, the son of Elishama, who was of royal blood.

Son of Nethaniah= the transformation

Son of Elishama= the cause of the sound of the report or the rumor

Royal blood= the ability to process what one feels with the intellect and act with propriety and dignity

H&R Block launches AI tax filing assistant

Tax prep company H&R Block released a new conversational AI chatbot that answers taxpayer questions. AI Tax Assist, accessed through paid versions of H&R Block’s DIY tax software, lets users ask questions on tax rules, possible exemptions, and other tax-related issues. It also points people to a human tax expert for more personalized advice, though the company said it is working on supporting AI-powered personalized advice as well. In a demo, the company showed how users with complicated tax filing statuses — say a gig worker — can start their tax returns. They can then ask AI Tax Assist for information like, “What can I deduct as business expenses as an Uber driver?” The AI will provide a list of allowed deductions, and the user can choose to use that list or not in the final filing. H&R Block will show a banner informing users that the feature is powered by AI and offer sample prompts. The company said customers want to be informed that a feature uses AI to help build trust. It added that part of the reason they’re confident people will use the feature is the trust customers have built with H&R Block. The company said that it found users don’t simply want to be told what to do with their taxes but instead want to understand how their tax filing works. AI Tax Assist offers information on different kinds of tax exemptions and how other assets, like cryptocurrency, are treated under the tax code.Chris Linderwell, vice president of consumer tax products at H&R Block, said during a briefing that many users often turn to Google when they’re confused about how to file their taxes. AI Tax Assist is meant to encourage users to stay on H&R Block’s platform when seeking tax answers instead.“We want to empower customers to ask questions as deep as they want, and over time, we can give more personalized answers to their questions on our platform through AI Tax Assist,” Linderwell said.H&R Block said that while AI Tax Assist is not available on the free version of its app, it will not increase the prices of its subscription tiers that will have access to the conversational AI platform. Its paid plans start at $35. H&R Block built AI Tax Assist with models from OpenAI and Microsoft. The company emphasized that it trained only on H&R Block’s library of tax laws and refined with the help of its many accountants, lawyers, and other tax professionals. It said the model did not pull from the internet. Linderwall said the feature was built to only answer with specific H&R Block content. H&R Block, which does still operate brick-and-mortar tax services, hopes that AI Tax Assist feels a lot like speaking to one of its human accountants. If people have concerns over the AI-provided answers, the company said their team of live human experts can also provide their services via phone. Of course, there is always the possibility of hallucinations that produce false information — and in tax preparation, the stakes are unusually high. While no company can yet guarantee AI will not hallucinate, H&R Block said users can double check information with a human. It also has a team that monitors the model for accuracy and that it behaves the way it was designed. The Verge asked H&R Block what recourse users can take if the bot provides false information. Other tax prep apps, like Intuit’s TurboTax, announced it will use AI to surface missing information on tax filings and make recommendations to maximize deductions. Filing taxes has long been a confusing process that companies like H&R Block and Intuit grew into profitable businesses while lobbying against making the process cheaper or easier. A classic for a reason. He doesn't think this song is over hyped, it is what it is because it is what it is!!! Which, to him, is a work of art. The music is perfect, the build up from the beginning and the ability to keep everything restrained until it gets the suspense going of when the big climax comes in, and then it just keeps on grooving. Then of course we have the lyrics and the overall thesis of the songs, which is like, just another product of the system, some kid, the accumulation of how life shaped one's childhood to make up the person. He relates to that, as everyone else can since it is the human condition. But he's also been told by his dad that he shouldn't just follow the crowd or really trust authority figures (a product of Hook's own upbringing and getting to break out from underneath all the adults in his life telling him what he was going to become to go do his own thing with smee <3) so you look at part 2, the boy can relate to that because I also imagine he was that kid in class who didn't necessarily START trouble on purpose, but asked questions that got teachers flustered or was always trying to deepen the conversation and that just annoyed people, esp when he would also goof around because he would get BORED, so they wrote him off as a trouble maker or an annoyance. another brick.

5. We Rock by Dio

this song really has no deep cut. it's a banger. it fucks severely. it's a fun time, it's got great music to head bang to. mr. dio had a GREAT voice in the boy's opinion, which always brings him back to this band. this song never has a lull, it is go go go go from the absolute jump and he likes that kind of music because it drowns out a lot and lets him just sink into the music.

6. Highway Star by Deep Purple

again, loves it for the music of it all. it's got some BANGING synth and guitar. he listens to it on repeat for those alone!! another song that just is pumbling everything down around it from start to finish. it feels like it could be the source of the energizer bunny's ability to bang that bass drum. when the guitar solo hits he'll vibrate out of his skin <3

7. Balls to the Wall by Accept

another head banger. what can i say, he's all in on songs that can knock a sock or two off. and this song's title does not disappoint. the vocals alone are /mwah, esp when they're just copying the guitar's progression there like a choir, but with the addition of the good music to back em up make it a top tier song. plus the lyrics, going back him questioning authority and just going through life by his own step, the song is how authority will fall and the people will be the reason because they've had enough of the bs.

8. Seek & Destroy by Metallica

to the boy, there is no other way to listen to this song than at full volume. it demands it, from the very beginning with the guitar going as hard as it does!!!! he doesn't always listen to metallica, but when he does, the whole town does too <3

9. Escape (I Need a Break) by Whodini

now we have the second half, bringing us to the rap portion. because rap is the second most listen to genre by the boy. it's another genre that is easy to escape into for him, with the good beats that he can turn up and being able to focus on the flow of the lyrics. he does like contemporary stuff, but his favorites are stuff from the older generation, like the rock and metal already listed here. whodini are an ESSENTIAL for him. this song is one of the best for both the beat and the lyrics themselves. i imagine the boy is v excited to get out of town and onto this grand adventure his dad and smee always described in their stories, while also being scared to leave the only thing he has ever known. this song is telling the story of like, life sucks, i need a fucking break, all the little things add up. then there's a reply of all the things that can be done to fix those little things, the main being, "so do what you gotta in order to escape // take it from me it's never too late."

10. I Ain't No Joke by Eric B. & Rakim

another essential. the lyrics are just ... /clenches fist. even to this day they go harder than a lot of the stuff out there but that's probably because rakim and eric were like the foundations from which the genre could build itself from. this isn't necessarily a dis track on anyone in particular, but it is about how he can take anything and make it sound better than the people who pretend they know what they're doing. like "ven if it’s jazz or the quiet storm // i hook a beat up and turn it into hip hop form." described hip hop!!! in a line !! and did it with perfect flow !! the boy loves and respects 'em

11. Posse In Effect by Beastie Boys

licensed to ill is probably one of his top albums of all time, this is just an example of that for this playlist. the music in this goes a lil slow but it keeps him nodding to the beat and the lyrics are just so good and crunchy, he'll keep a few in his mind to chew on all day since they just get stuck in there on repeat. like the way they say mustard. he'd probably live with that in his head rent free for days. truly proved they were MC's within the game, and the boy loooooves how that shows up in this album.

12. Smooth Operator by Big Daddy Kane

another song that's kinda about the rapper saying, "i'm the real deal." but who is ACTUALLY the real deal. this song is just a fun time and while the boy does like songs that are hard hitting, overall he is someone who likes stuff that he can listen to and just disappear into. all of these songs do that for him, and this one is more like a buttery version of that rather than the more chaotic version of that. this one doesn't drown everything out so much as it invites him in. if that makes sense lmfao. but yeah, as opposed to the others here, this artist has a sort of polished tone to his voice and his production. it's classy. it doesn't stray from his roots ofc but it's refined. very unique in comparison to a lot of rappers out there, even now. it's why the boy really loves his music.

13. Evil that Men Do by Queen Latifah

book ending this lil playlist of essential listening with a song of near the same title but from the other genre of his musical tastes. but also because it's a good song!!! queen latifah has some GREAT albums. this song has a great beat and flow, as well as the message of it all about gender equality. another song/artist that he just really enjoys putting on and listening to until he forgets about his day.

Since I'm completely out of charged quartz, I'm starting today with a mining trip.

This mining trip resulted in 1 stack plus 55 iron ore, 45 gold ore, 20 diamonds, 10 emeralds, 5 stacks plus 16 coal, 1 stack plus 18 lead ore, 59 silver ore, 10 nickel ore, 3 uranium ore, 14 cinnabar ore, 7 stacks plus 8 redstone, 2 stacks plus 28 lapis, 2 stacks plus 29 electrotine, 2 stacks plus 21 sulfur, 8 tanzanite, 4 rubies, 4 rare earths, 15 order crystals, 7 earth crystals, 11 nether quartz, 5 certus quartz, and 4 charged quartz, I also found a mineshaft, but didn't explore it.

Having lots of mods makes lots of things generate underground.

Anyway, I'm going to make something that should have been the first thing I used fluix crystals for, that being a charger (AE2).

The charger has one purpose, and that is to convert regular certus quartz into charged certus quartz, I'm not sure why I didn't think to make one before.

After making a charger, I made an ME crafting terminal, which is the last thing I need to make a digital storage setup.

My new storage system looks like this.

The thing on the left is an ME drive, in the middle is an ME controller, on the right is the crafting terminal I just made, and on the far right is an iron chest for storing iron storage boxes.

I don't want to store storage boxes of any kind (or really anything with lots of NBT data) in my digital storage, because according to Iskall85 in his Vault Hunters 1.16 YouTube series if you store too much data in a single tile entity it can corrupt your world, and I'd like to avoid that.

Anyway, here's what the crafting terminal interface looks like.

The interface lists all items in storage, includes a search bar (which I've set to sync with my JEI search bar in the bottom right), and allows for multiple sorting modes (alphabetically, by item quantity, or by mod ID).

I don't think I can fit all my items in here, so I'm going to work on getting 2 4K storage cells, which can each hold 4kb, but can still only hold 63 types of items.

4K storage cells crafted, and now I can put everything in digital storage (except for my 7 full storage boxes of cobblestone that I have outside of digital storage).

Now that my digital storage is set up (and all the iron chests I had have been cleaned up), I can focus on other things without having to manually look through chests for stuff.

The next thing I want to do is start moving my IC2 machines up to power tier 2, but the tier 2 versions of my machines all require steel, which I can't make just yet, so I'm going a blast furnace (Railcraft), which turns iron into steel (it does not smelt ores at double speed like the vanilla 1.14 blast furnace).

I need a decent amount of nether bricks to make a blast furnace, and although I have enough netherrack to make enough nether bricks, it does still take time to smelt.

I actually made 2 blast furnaces, because (just like the coke oven) they're slow.

Unlike coke ovens, blast furnaces actually require fuel, though they can accept any fuel a furnace can (I'll be using charcoal because my arboretum is making more wood than I know what to do with).

Each steel ingot takes 64 seconds to make, and each piece of charcoal lasts 16 seconds, so it takes 4 charcoal to make 1 steel ingot (and 1 ground blast furnace slag, which is used for high speed tracks that I don't plan on using).

Now that I have steel production, the first machine I'd like to upgrade is my electric furnace.

The tier 2 version of the electric furnace is the induction furnace, which can process up to 2 items at once, and will also gradually heat up while running, which increases smelting speed.

The induction furnace will cool down while not in use, and I think if heat reaches 100% it just caps there and doesn't cause the machine to explode or stop working.

The main problem with it is that it's a tier 2 machine, so it's not getting enough power, so it's constantly switching between being shut off because it doesn't have enough power to run and running because it has enough power to do so for a few milliseconds, this basically just means that it's running slower than normal.

This also means that it's constantly playing its shutdown noise, which isn't exactly pleasant to hear on an infinite loop.

To solve this issue, I just made 2 more geothermal generators, I'm sure my pump setup can handle it.

Anyway, I'll wait until next time to upgrade my other machines.

So since I got so much traffic on my last post, I figured I’d update everyone. I’m in the midst of playtesting what is probably one of the largest modpacks I’ve ever messed around with. As you can see, we sit at about 465 mods, with many being content mods. I’ve included a list of all the interesting ones (I think) below.

My computer takes a little over 8gigs of RAM to run it smoothly, I give it a little more for safety, and it holds between 40-60 FPS. Dips into the 30s when genning new entities or terrain.

I’ve got magic mods, tech mods, world gen mods, biome mods, mob mods, storage mods, decoration mods, and so much more. I’ve been slowly piecing together the configs, the ore gen, and the recipe alterations. It’s definitely not perfect, but I’m having a lot of fun. I’ve played for a couple hours on survival and I found some stuff I still want to tweak, so that’s what I’m up to at the moment.

Takes about 7 minutes from launch to main menu, and about the same to load into a save. About twice that to generate a new world. But I can still watch videos and scroll Tumblr on the same computer, so I don’t really care.

For what it’s worth: no, my computer doesn’t get hot, yes it runs well, yes the fan does turn on but it’s not at full speed, and my computer is a laptop on a lap desk.

Oh, and I’ve called this modpack: Attempting to Escape the Planet of Dragons with Rockets.
