This week's featured Disney hotel is the Disney Davy Crockett Ranch at Disneyland Paris. As someone who has mostly visited Walt Disney World, the Davy Crockett Ranch reminded me of the cabins you can find at Fort Wilderness. The entire "hotel" consists of a series of cabins in a wooded area that is a 15-minute drive from the park.

I decided to create an outfit inspired by the natural environment of the area and the character after which the resort is named. Although I couldn't find a top that looked exactly like the one worn by Davy Crockett, this Jil Sander top is pretty close in terms of color and relaxed fit.

For bottoms, I opted for a pair of jeans that are perfect for exploring the wooded areas of the property. Speaking of exploration, one needs comfortable and practical footwear to explore the area, so I selected these Bocage ankle boots.

To complete the outfit, I added a brown handbag that is perfect for carrying anything you might need while walking around the woods or parks. I also included a taupe hair elastic to make a ponytail, taking the place of Crockett's famous raccoon hat. Finally, the earrings provide a small reference to the lyrics of the Ballad of Davy Crockett, where it is stated that he was born in the "greenest state in the land of the free.”

Overall, this outfit is a great way to enjoy the natural surroundings of the hotel while also paying homage to the character after which the resort is named. With comfortable yet stylish clothing and practical accessories, this outfit is perfect for exploring the wooded areas and enjoying the parks.

Je pleure la haie qui marquait la limite entre le potager de mon grand-père et là lande, où il laissait paître une dizaine de vaches laitières.

Je pleure les gelée matinales qui parfois nous giflaient dès Octobre.

Je pleure les couleuvres et les phasmes.

Je pleure le bocage, la petite rivière Vertonne, que je croyais immuable et servait de refuge à mes aventures d’enfance.

Je pleure le front du glacier du Mont Blanc, le lit de la Loue qui ne coule plus dès le mois de mai.

Je pleure des chênes centenaires qui se délestent de leurs branches les plus hautes.

Je pleure des abeilles sauvages. Des tortues dans les filets.

Je pleure le mois de décembre qui neigeait sur le premier plateau du Jura.

Je pleure le silence des clochers de tourmente sur les Causses.

Je pleure les nacres de Bandol, les martinets noirs, la chasse aux Renards.

Et je pleure aux cœurs fermés à quatre tours qui préfèrent ne pas savoir, comme aux mâchoires serrées sur nos rages tues.

Je pleure pour renaître. Pour traverser le deuil d’une richesse qui s’en va. Je pleure pour guérir de notre peine, qui est la peine de ce qui vit. Je pleure pour me consoler, pour relever la tête, pour honorer le foisonnement de ce monde. Pour dire merci à tout ce qui renaît, à tout ce qui éclos, tout ce qui fleurit, bouture, se plante, jaillit, recommence, invente, fait tâche, et sème et se répand.

Je pleure pour ouvrir mon cœur à l’espoir, qui vient juste après la peine et qui se mêle à toutes nos larmes.

Manuel Maria Barbosa du Bocage (1765-1805)

De uma escrita transgressora, emotiva, em busca da liberdade, Bocage é considerado o mais importante poeta português do século XVIII e um dos maiores sonetistas líricos da literatura portuguesa.

Tornando-se popular pela sátira e pela jovialidade  dos seus versos, explorando a poesia erótica, os seus ideais de libertinagem e livre-pensamento levam a que seja processado pela Inquisição e preso em Novembro de 1797. As adversidades por que vivera levaram ao amadurecer da sua obra vingando-se entre a vida boémia e as tertúlias intelectuais.

Faleceu em Lisboa, vítima de um aneurisma, no dia 21 de dezembro de 1805, com 40 anos.

Because choosing a Disney hotel after randomly selecting an item was starting to be a bit difficult, I decided that I would randomly select the Disney hotel and create an outfit inspired by it. Thankfully, the first hotel had a very strong theme: Disney Explorers Lodge at Hong Kong Disneyland. Of course, I had to create an outfit worthy of such a theme.

I knew I would go with earth tones, so when I saw those earthy green shorts, I knew I had to add them to my outfit. The shirt, with its front patch pocket, also fits the explorer vibe. The main elements of the outfit selected, all I needed was now was to choose the footwear, the bag, and the other accessories.

Of course, one needs to be comfortable when exploring, so these ankle boots looked perfect. It’s not the time for a fancy handbag; this tan crossbody bag looks practical and fits with the earth tone of this outfit. You also need protection from the sun, hence the hat and sunglasses.

Finally, I decided to add the necklace because the old coin-like pendant gave such a vibe of “old thing I found on one of my digs”. It was just too perfect to ignore.
