Hey everyone! So I got this idea from @writernopal, and I thought, since I often have trouble both coming up with questions for special writeblr ask days and gathering the spoons to actually send them (plus, last time I tried sending an ask to a bunch of people, I think it might've gotten eaten from a couple of inboxes). For blorbsday, two of your blorbos are having a duel for Reasons™️. Who do they take with them and how does it go down? (Everything's fair game: weapons, rules, fantasy new jersey)

(Shhhh it's normal to answer six-month-old asks out of the blue... don't worry about it...)

A RNG chose Lug and Claw for the duel! This would be more of a sparring match than a real fight, probably held inside one of Phalanx's combat training rooms. There'd be walls to hide behind, fake buildings, decoy soldiers, stuff to throw - and all of it would be taken advantage of. It'd be overseen by the Engineer, of course, with at least one Repair Unit on the sidelines.

Lug used to win combat training sessions before the Engineer adjusted Claw's reflexes. He was just too strong and heavy, so he'd trap Claw and basically just sit on him until he couldn't fight back 😅 Lug is Claw's older "brother," after all. After the Engineer's modifications, Claw's favorite way to gain an advantage would be to sneak up on Lug and hogtie him with his whip.

Do you absentmindedly color-code your OCs? Do those colors show up in the writing or only in the categories in your head?

YES. So much yes to this! When I'm creating a character I usually assign a certain vibe or aesthetic to them, and that certainly comes with its assigned color-coding. Most times color-coding comes naturally to me as I develop a character's aesthetic, almost as if the character (or my subconscious lmao) is "telling me" what color and vibe they'll have.

I'm a huge fan of symbolism, so, along with the color, the character usually has a symbol, animal, or element I unconsciously assign to them, and it certainly does come up in my writing as a way to distinguish the character's styles.

For example, I associate Rylisan Fenrith from Tales of Wilted Flowers with warm sunlight yellow, soft snowy blue, and polished silver. His symbolism includes owls, blooming/wilted daisies, and shattered pomegranates.

Meanwhile, I associate Prince Archyvel of Sarythea, from Realms of Loss, with deep red, tarnished gold, and charcoal black. His symbolism includes constellations, peacocks, and flowers on a broken crown.

lately I've been really thinking about my blorbo Gabriel :] he's from my nano project, bad things happen, which. i never introduced. I WILL though I still have your ask

I've really been fleshing out Gabriel's past and familg lately. he has a really toxic dynamic with his brother---his brother was highly emotionally abusive when they were kids, up until Gabriel got kicked out of the house, and it... never got better from there. Gabriel is functionally estranged from his brother and father, though he makes secret meetings with his mom because they actually got closer after his dad kicked him out (since his mother was really upset over the whole thing and threatened divorce and shit but was too sick at that point from various health issues to be able to leave Gabriel's father). so they meet for tea like twice and it's kind of one of Gabriel's highlights of, like, his entire routine

he takes his new friend jesús to see his mom at one point and jesús' whole understanding of Gabriel's emotional state and dynamics witj other people changes bc he can barely believe how like calm and quiet and kind Gabriel is around his mom (since Gabriel's whole thing is like "brash comedic cynical reckless strange" but around his mom he's very very careful). i lobve him
