@isleofgumby made a tier list for kuro characters so I decided to rank the blorbos

I only included the anime versions of the characters that were in the original anime, so even if it's their book of iteration in the picture, it's meant to be rating their original anime iterations. For example, anime Queen Victoria is meant to be lolli Victoria from season 1 despite the image being her book of counterpart. So, if the character only shows up in book of, I didn't bother to include them because their manga and anime counterparts are basically the same.

I only included the kuromyu actors of the musicals I've seen obviously. I think every one of them did a great job, I mainly ranked them based on how iconic I found their performance, how much I felt they embodied their characters, how much I like their characters in general, and how much screen time they got, so some of these actors are at a disadvantage based on how much they were on stage.

my explanation👇

S-Tier- The absolute elite of the elite of kuro characters and actors. I don't just love these characters, these characters make the manga for me, they are the absolute most special guys in the whole world. The actors not only embodied the characters well, but I think brought something new to the table that made their performance exceptional. For example, Madam Red's actor slayed so hard with her singing, but also brought depth to the character that made me like her more than I did originally, she was also really hot.

A-Tier- I love all the characters in A, they are icons they make me smile, they make me love the manga. They might not be quite on the level of S tier, but they are very close. Tanaka's anime counterpart is there because while I think the way he deflates is cursed, he is pretty similar to the Tanaka we know and love and I appreciate his Japanese va a lot. Some of the characters in A tier simply have not had enough screen time to be in S. I was also so conflicted about putting Bard and Tanaka in A instead of S but I decided to because Bard's backstory did leave a slightly bad taste in my mouth, and Tanaka has yet to prove his loyalty to O!Ciel, I'm sorry it had to be this way, but I'm strict.

B-Tier- I feel positive things for these characters, I generally like them, but I don’t love them, I generally like them, but I don't care about them that much. Season 1 Victoria is here because I think she’s hilarious and I do actually like her design. Kelvin’s stage actor is here because I felt he did a rlly good job with the character he was given.

C-Tier- I don't care about these characters whatsoever/they have done something that I don't like. For instance, Pitt would be a lot higher, but he betrayed O!Ciel and his character isn't interesting enough to make up for it so, sorry. The anime iterations of many beloved characters are here because I don't think they were portrayed well and it annoys me, especially the servants.

D-Tier- The absolute bottom of the barrel, characters I actively hate or strongly dislike. Sebastian is mainly here as a joke and would realistically be higher up, but I enjoy hating on him so much and that man deserves to be taken down a peg. Anime Lizzie is here because she was done so dirty it should be considered a crime. Anyway these characters are trash.

This list is subject to change, but yeah. Agni could definitely be on S tier, Jane could be a lot higher than she is since she's very hot, stuff like that.

this post is under a cut in case anyone would consider it to be DA:D spoilers, as the things it mentions came from the leak a year ago (spoiler warning for link) that included screenshots and a gif of the game. (the things this post mentions are therefore not new information and this does not reference a new leak)

I'm just thinking again about Rook (which seems to be the PC's name or title) and the imagery conjured by the name. ◕‿◕ this post is just speculation and overanalyzing for fun. also this post is a now-finished draft from my draft section from a while back.

I think it would work as a surname (like "Hawke") or a codename (think Leliana's spies and contacts such as "Butler", "Farrier", "Butcher", "Charter", etc although these are all professions that end in "-er" or "or" iirc). it could also be a title (like Warden, Hero, Champion, Inquisitor, Herald) or a nickname - like maybe it's short for "Rookie", it's a Varric-assigned nickname and it references how the DA:D PC is the newest member of the team after he recruits them?

I think it sounds catchy, and cool - it's snappy and short, Hawke-like in this way. and it sounds like the kind of name a spy or secret agent might have in a fantasy, superhero or sci-fi-type setting.

a rook is a black bird, Corvus frugilegus, a member of the corvid family. rooks have been perceived as vermin and nuisances by people in the past, and persecuted due to this. they bear a resemblance to their crow and raven relatives, both birds which have a large cultural footprint and lots of symbolism in areas such as folklore and art. Hawke obviously also had a bird motif going on from their surname and associated art pieces. corvids also bring to mind the Antivan Crows (assassins, thieves, & spies), reminding of the stuff about how in this game the PC may be trying to operate under the radar, and the reporting on a previous iteration of DA:D which had the game concept as being focused on spies and heists. rook plumage is inky black, bringing to mind darkness and shadow.

from the bird angle, a "rook" sounds neat opposite a "wolf" imo. wolves are obviously another animal that have large footprints in culture, myth and folklore. in the natural world there is symbiosis sometimes between wolves and corvids when hunting/feeding. there are lots of photos of wolves and corvids together.

a colony of rooks is called a rookery. of course, the fortress of Skyhold has a rookery. it's from there that Inquisition Spymaster Leliana operates (operated) sending her black birds on missions with letters and messages to her many agents and spies throughout Thedas. what if Rook is one of Leliana's... "rooks"? a spy or agent of the remnants of the Inquisition.

A rook is also defined as "A cheat or swindler; someone who betrays" [noun], "mist, fog" [noun] and "to cheat or swindle" [verb]. it's also a type of trick-taking card game. these sorts of things bring to mind a rogueish, stealthy aspect, and the shady, shadowy dealings and card-game played in Minrathous Shadows.

a rook is also a chess piece. they're castle-like (since "rook" can also mean a castle or fortification) and usually have their top in the shape of a battlement. they can move in any direction along a rank or file on a chessboard on which they stand (horizontal/vertical, not diagonal). they can also do the "castling" move. in history, rooks have also been called towers, castles, rectors and marquesses. in chess, each player starts the game with two rooks at opposite ends of the first rank. chess itself is a game of strategy and tactics. "the chessmaster" as a trope is a character type who manipulates events, tugging on strings and moving 'pieces' into place on a metaphorical chessboard. [Solas' DA:I dialogue about his past, like the one he has with Sera about cells of spies/agents, hark to this]

in the castling move,

"Castling is a move in chess. It consists of moving the king two squares toward a rook on the same rank and then moving the rook to the square that the king passed over. Castling is permitted only if neither the king nor the rook has previously moved; the squares between the king and the rook are vacant; and the king does not leave, cross over, or finish on a square attacked by an enemy piece. Castling is the only move in chess in which two pieces are moved at once."

castling rules often cause confusion, even occasionally among high-level players. historically the move has its roots in the "king's leap", of which there were two forms and which arose in part it seems due to increasing importance of king safety as other pieces were given increased powers through time as the game developed. "the king would move once like a knight, or the king would move two squares on its first move. The knight move might be used early in the game to get the king to safety or later in the game to escape a threat." basically it moves the king away to safety and the rook to a more active position. there is also kingside castling and queenside castling. I wonder, symbolically.. is Rook more the king's rook, or the queen's rook? (reminds me of the Left Hand and Right Hands of the Divine hh). who or what is the king in this hypothetical analogy? the World of Thedas itself? as a castle or fortress.. Rook is the bulwark against what's to come? [over-thinking ik ik, tis just for fun hh].

by now we're all familiar with the chess game Solas plays in banter dialogue with Iron Bull during DA:I. in the in-world chess game, rooks are called towers. Solas moves his right-hand tower once. at a later point in the game, Iron Bull's "Arishok" piece takes Solas' left-hand tower, getting a check and leaving him feeling triumphant. Bull asks Solas wth he is doing as Bull takes Solas' remaining tower. "Your last tower, by the way". Bull, a spy and liar himself, bears down on Solas' pieces "with his full army", thinking a win is in sight. Undeterred, Solas executes a few moves in a sneaky plan and entraps Bull in a checkmate, winning the game after sacrificing various pieces to enact his plan.

rook also brings to mind the Tower tarot card and its meanings. it's associated with sudden, disruptive revelation and potentially destructive change. it connotes danger, crisis, sudden change, destruction, higher learning, and liberation, as well as adversity, calamity, deception, ruin and unforeseen catastrophe. reversed, it connotes things such as negligence, carelessness, apathy and vanity (vanity.. pride). in this depiction of the Tower tarot, lightning strikes from the sky, striking a crown (hubris) off the top of a tower and setting it alight as people fall from the tower to their doom. this imagery and the upright meanings of the card bring to mind the sudden massive change Solas seeks to bring about (destroying the Veil), the revelations and liberation for some that it might bring, his identity as Fen'Harel Lord of Tricksters (deception) as well as the destruction he seems to think the Veil destroying action will cause ("as the world burns in the raw chaos"...). the 'Tower scene' has also already played out once before in Thedosian history, when Solas created the Veil and sealed the Evanuris away, leading to the fall of Arlathan and its wonders. in modern Thedas, Morrigan and Flemeth (as well as possibly some side 'prophecy' type things) both allude to a big change coming to the world.

in DA:I, the Tower tarot card is ofc none other than Solas' ending card, if he is not romanced. in the DA:I version of the card, we see Solas, cloaked in a dark robe and holding a mage staff under a half-moon or eclipse. darkness seeps from his shadow, stark against the orange sky, and blends with the giant black Dread Wolf, looming ominously and open-mouthed above him with its many eyes. (the Tower tarot card Solas scene is later referenced in DA:D promotional art and DA:D-era in-world murals). it makes sense to have assigned this to Solas given the above discussed meanings of the Tower tarot card, but it's a verrry inchresting choice imo to then give "Rook" as a name/title for the DA:D PC.

and most inchrestingly, there's the symbol from the front of Mark Darrah's mysterious Red Book. this mysterious red book shows "a flaming rook" on the cover. the book was an internal guide for developer and publisher eyes only that summarized the vision for DA:D, in its Joplin iteration. we know that the Joplin project has since been revised to an extent that it was the newly codenamed Morrison instead, but the red book is known to still contain plenty of ideas likely to appear in DA:D. most pages of the book remain highly classified. it's the symbol on the front that's of most interest to us though for the purposes of this post. there is a castle, tower, or rook, like a fortress or the chess piece. above the tower, a fire burns, reminding us of the burning tower from the Tower tarot card imagery and what that symbolizes, as well as Solas' "world burning in the raw chaos" line from Trespasser. inside the fire is a wolf, the Dread Wolf, in a now very-familiar and repeated motif in DA:D art, merch, murals, teasers etc. whatever else "rook" may connote, it feels like it's not an accident at all that the PC's name is apparently "Rook", given this depiction of a fiery rook and the Dread Wolf together.

In honor of that poll, which has apparently been answered by a bunch of loser rogue-fuckers, and was also written by someone who doesn't even have the update that gives you twelve poll options, please have a good ranking of sexiest D&D 5e classes, from me.

This only has the 13 officially published 5e classes so do not ask me about classes that are not that. Also, the existence of a handful of sexy or unsexy characters of that class does not a sexy or unsexy class overall make. I'm sure these two statements will not shut down all annoying people but by god I hope they shut down some.

Paladin. Self-explanatory: if you don't agree, you better explain yourself, unless you think they are outranked by...

Wizard. As Liam O'Brien said, what's sexier than wizards? And I said "paladins, but no one else." I'm also going to fuck up an Octavia Butler quote and say that her journal did not explicitly state that single-minded devotion is sexy but it is, and that's why wizards and paladins are, undisputably, the top two.

Warlock. Would be higher than wizards on the basis of sheer raw charisma but some warlock classes (archfey, hexblade) are extremely sexy and some are...pots in need of very unique lids, shall we say.

Bard. This is for competency and knowledge of mythology and musical instruments. If you're into some kind of memeriffic 20 CHA 7 INT Roll To Seduce bro shit, get the fuck out of here.

Ranger. Their combat abilities are not as great as they could be but this is also without a doubt the class that will invite you over and make a delicious foraged mushroom risotto and have lit candles they made themself. They are good with animals and can identify constellations. Entire package.

Barbarian and Fighter are tied. Do you prefer a flow state and passion or do you prefer dedication and persistence? Axe or sword? Raw power or precision? Equally valid; it's a matter of personal taste.

Cleric. One of the gods thinks they're special; it's hard not to be drawn in by that. Also, healing is the sexiest magical ability. Points off for the possibility of sanctimonious behavior.

Druid. This is just personal taste but I would find it weird if my partner was sometimes a giant scorpion, and I feel rangers are just the far sexier nature-loving option. People for whom druids are #1, I see you, I respect you, I disagree with you, but I do think you're valid.

Monk. Here's the problem. Yes flexible; everything else is kind of a solid "eh" for me. Honestly I think it's because D&D separates out dexterity and strength even though monks technically need both, and so the low-strength monk archetype really doesn't do it for me. It's not unsexy but it never wows me, and honestly in real life martial arts is usually more an aesthetic joy than a sexy one for me.

Sorcerer. Often physically attractive but I do not love a nepo baby, and absolutely the class least able to make you breakfast. Class most likely to attempt to make you breakfast and manage to fuck up scrambled eggs.

Artificer. Love the class but unfortunately I can only think of Belle's father in Beauty and the Beast (1991) when I think of what an artificer looks like. Wizards claimed the hot nerd spot; artificers never had a chance.

Rogue. Anyone can wear black leather. Anyone can twirl a butterfly knife and the ranger is going to be better at using it. You know what rogues are best at? Leaving through the window without waking you up. That's it. Bards have the same skills and then some and they're hotter by design. There are other classes with superior physical skills. Burst damage is already not actually that useful in 5e combat and even less so in the bedroom.

#people will be into rogues for the aesthetic and forget that studded leather armor is widely available #tentatively making rebloggable again but artificerfuckers you're on the THINNEST of ice and it's cracking.#maybe use your technological knowledge to make your own post? just a thought.

ronald being first in "nah id win". dude gets ABSOLUTELY destroyed every time we see him, you can't tell me he can fight

ciel in "could go either way" is because he COULD have a gun. that little shit cheats in every life or death game, INCLUDING LIFE!

the ghost dude from the anime in "it could go either way" is because it depends if im allowed to prep before the fight and if i know who i'm fighting. if i am, then he's going in the vacuum

seriously ranking the girls in "id beg her to punch me" is hard. i know i would not fight back against hot girls, im sorry but i wont. call me a coward but i wont

the "i dont want to fight" tier exists because i dont wanna hit soma... OR sieglinde... OR A DOG!!! i have a heart, surprisingly

finny being the only servant in "i know better" is because he's good at fighting AND girlbossing (iykyk)

- KAGAMI I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD IT IN YOU TO GIVE CHESS AND HORN MORE SCREENTIME BUT THANK YOU ANYWAYS

- I am so glad that the whole digestion thing is more symbolical bc... that inital wording really threw me off lmao

- on that note, the immagery of the dead trees with the bodies sticking out of 'em... very creepy and on point, I think it's neat

- they actually adressed Crowley forgetting them! Wowzers (side note she looks hella adorable. My little skrunkly)

- ouugh the dynamic... where was it earlier? It seems so much more casual than during the Nagoya arc (probably just wishful thinking on my part lmao)... idc how give us more of this

- "you two were my first servants", LORE CRUMBS! I guess.

- wait so, they're still becoming demons? But isn't that a form of reincarnation, the thing Ferid is specifically trying to stop? But he's also devouring them... to absorb their power I guess? Since later on Ferid mentions now being more powerful after devouring Crowley (I'll get to that asspull later)

- Also Horn looks a teensy bit weird with the new artstyle but she's still super pretty 🫶 be my wife pls

- So, 16 year old Ferid is inside himself as his 'true self'? I assume that because he got the idea to stop reincarnation when he was 16 and hasn't changed his mind since (never let 16 year olds make big decisions in this world, it only leads to disaster)

- the skrunkle part 2. Also I doubt being digested like that feels good in any way. And with how slow it's supposed to be, yikes.

- I have a theory (aka major amounts of copium): Yuu will bust in and save Crowley because of 'fAmiLy' and also save Chess and Horn since they're family by association

- No one can reach Ferid, eh? And then Corwley's voice reaches him. Kagami and his queerbaiting amirite

- However Ferid then snags Crowley and ig he's on the priority list of getting devoured. Probably bc he's the strongest vampire Ferid has eaten. Cannibalism as a metaphor for love and devotion or whatever, except it's very literal and I doubt there's any love beyond 'u and interesting critter dude' from both sides

- Ok here's my major nitpick with this chapter: KAGAMI STOP BREAKING AND BENDING YOUR OWN FUCKING WORLDBUILDING AND POWER SYTEMS. Until now it was established that a vampires strenght is dependant on 1. their rank (as in who's blood turned them) and 2. their age. But now appearantly Ferid can eat vampires and absorb their strenght? If this was some universal but very difficult thing for any vampire to do, then I wouldn't be this salty. Also one of my favourite things about Ferid as an antagonist was, that power-wise he was on the weaker side. Despite being 'weak' he was still a major threat. He made up for his lack in actual fighting power with smarts and immaculate planning. But now he's another uber-strong genius. C'mon we already had Shikama and Rigr for that department. Bleh.

- now for the Yuu / Rigr and co confrontation, it's fiiiiine. I guess. At least Shikama is still somewhat of a formidable threat. Not to the major characters obviously but yk, it's something.

- rip Basteya. You showed up, slayed for a little and died.

- Kirsten still looks fugly as hell lmao

- so do Ulrich and Roger

- So, who will be faster: Shinoa in absorbing Shikama or Yuu in saving him? My bet is on Yuu purley bc he's supposed to be the main character but ig we'll see next chapter

- sadly no Ferid / Krul brawl this chapter but yk what makes me excited for next chapter

The stella hate she received is too much and this is the twisted thing i see, they compare stella to amber heard an actual real life victim of abuse. Amber heard this woman who speak up about being abused by her husband johnny depp what does she get death threat, harassment, bullied, mockery , etc. Stella this character is so demonized that a lot people don't ever think she's a sentient being with emotion too

If we look at historical context often the female royal member are often seeing baby making machine. Only a few female royal member become leader in the monarchy system often it's male royal member. The systemic sexism if the husband of royal famliy cheat the wife get in trouble and consider failure of her marriage. That means stella she's very disadvantage

She break the stigma people who have hiv and aids, she actually interact with other people who have different status from her, she care about people well being, because of that a lot people liked her. After she died people also remember and sadden by her death

How about let's not compare real life cases of abused victims to the abuse fictional characters are suffering from a poorly written demon show?

Exactly, that's what fans are not understanding either. The critical community doesn't pity and empathize with Stella because we see her as this harmless angel but because she is also a victim like Stolas is of Hell's monarchy system. Whether fans want to admit it or not, Stella would absolute take the blame for the marriage failing, not Stolas. Stolas has an important role to do, they wanted a heir to HIS throne, and to quote HezuNeutral from their, Helluva Boss Continues to Circle Spiral video,"If Stella was infertile she'd be screw" because her only purpose in this system is to give birth. It's frustrating that Stella gets reduce to a black and white villain instead of a morally gray one because Viv doesn't want to be nuanced about the affair but even more frustrating, she can't even do her role as a villain right because not only is Stella, terrible inaccurate rep of domestic abusers but also because she is so dumb that she needs her brother to point out when Stolas dies, all of his things would be inherited by Octavia and not her. As if (I'm assuming) one of the actual reasons why she stayed in the marriage was because she like spending his money and what caused them to be so miserable was she and Stolas were arranged to give birth to an heir!

Stolas isn't good either, he still treats imps like shit, using his butler as a stressed toy, talking down to imps, it's just he 'acts" less racist towards I.M.P.

Now allow me to rant about the new story my brain made during my English class 😘

Inspired by this amazing Twitter post!

DISCLAIMER! This is a pretty rushed story so it may suck!

TW: Spoilers for characters in Episode 2, straight up cringe, bad grammar <3

Life as an angel from Akuneko - Part 1

You don’t know how you became like this

One moment you died from saving a little boy from getting hit by a truck, and now you’re in another world dressed up all white with fucking wings on your back.

��god damn truck-kun… you did it again” You sighed as you stared into your reflection in the lake's water

*Correction, you were looking at someone else’s reflection

It wasn’t your body that’s for sure. You didn’t remember having black-tipped hands (and feet) and really short white hair. Let alone, humans don't even have wings!

Yes, you were an angel. Not just an Angel though, and angel from Akuneko.

You did play Akuneko in your so-called, “past life”. By learning some Japanese words, and with the help of some people translating the story, you were able to enjoy it like the other members in the English fandom.

But other than that, WOW YOU’RE AN ANGEL THAT MAY OR MAY NOT DIE SOON.

You do have the memories of the angel you are currently “possessing”. It seemed they were created a while ago, and haven’t killed anyone yet.

Keyword: Yet

You started possessing them when they broke a wall of a civilian’s house and when you realised it, Haures was after your ass swinging his sword at you.

You did escape without any injuries, and with some kind of muscle memory, you flew back to the angel hideout? Headquarters? Or something like that.

The place was horrifying. Angel everywhere. With the high-ranking angel, Cherubim staring at you as if observing your every move.

You stayed at the hideout for quite a bit, then decided to leave and start a new life. WITHOUT being bothered by the angels

When you left, you felt someone watching your departure. Fuck whoever that, fuck the angels. Nothing mattered at that moment

And here you are. Looking at the reflection of the angel you possessed in the lake waters.

A bad choice to come here really. You knew this lake was near the Devils Palace, and you definitely didn’t want your ass obliterated by Haures or the others.

But there was a coincidentally abandoned cabin nearby so you decided to live there for the time being.

You had some goals in mind

1. Find a place to live in

2. Find supplies necessary for living

3. Make some connections with people

4. Make yourself a new identity

The first goal was complete without a hitch, which was a good start.

The second goal didn’t seem hard either. Angels don’t need to eat, drink or sleep so the only supplies you needed are materials to make the cabin more stable. You didn’t know how long you were going to stay there. It’s better to maintain the building than watch it fall

The third goal was… going to be harder. If you wore a disguise, normal civilians probably won’t recognize you as an angel, but the Devil butlers sure will. They’ve been fighting angels for more than centuries, of course, they are going to bust you!

You decided to leave that goal as an optional one to complete. We’re not going on death’s doorstep today folks

And for the final goal… is to grow out “your” hair and train “your” face to be more flexible in making emotions. The language in this world wasn’t a problem. Hair growing… is questionable. You might need to get a wig (somehow). And facial expressions are going to be a tough one. Angels always have emotionless faces on 24/7, so at least NOT looking like those chicken wings is the bare minimum you can do if nothing succeeds. Man, you feel sorry for comparing those angels with innocent chickens. Sorry little guys 🐔

Feeling satisfied with how you were progressing in this world, you stumbled back to the cabin

Did I mention walking as an angel was hard too? Well now you know

“These chicken shits have been skipping leg day >:(“ you muttered disappointedly. Your wings fluttered behind your back, as if begging you to use them

Sure, you could’ve used your wings, but soon enough you’d have to cut them off to look like a normal human.

Ouch :(

Once you reached the cabin you heard a bush near you rustle. Your heart stopped for a moment. Almost everything in this world was dangerous now. Civilians, Devil Butlers, and heck even the angels! You're like a wanted fugitive at this point

With a heavy heart, you peered into the bush and saw……. A chicken

Yes a chicken. It surprised you too. It was pure white with a yellow beak and… uh red thing (whatever you call it ;-;).

“Bok bok”

It rushed out of the bush and waddled over to you

It stared intensely at you

You stared at it back

“…so want to be my pet?”

“Bok bok”

“Alright then”

You carefully picked up the chicken and brought it inside the cabin.

Did you kidnap a chicken? Yes. It just got taken away by you, with no sign of struggle for escape.

Does it mean it allowed you to kidnap it? Probably? It’ll escape soon anyways. You only kept it for temporary company and emotional support

You set the chicken on the counter. It sat down and fluffed its wings making it look like a big ball of white fluffiness.

“Bok bok”

“A name? Sure I’ll give you one…”

Just a small disclaimer, you don’t understand a thing of what the chicken is saying. You’re just responding to it randomly.

(But surprisingly, the chicken was asking for a name)

“I’ll name you… Nugget!”

The chicken deadpanned at you

“BOK BOOOOOKK”

“OK OK I’M SORRY! I won’t name you after a type of food…”

Did chicken nuggets even exist in this world?

You thought for a while. Fluffy and Feather seemed a bit too overrated for you... then what about...

“Then… how about Tristia?”

You questioned the chicken. The chicken ruffled its feathers, satisfied with the name

“Oh you like it? I’m glad”

Mhm, let's just pretend you didn't just name a chicken the same name as someone's dead sister-

You pet Tristia and stared outside the window. You wondered how long you’re going to be in this world. Your body in real life was probably dead or in a deep coma state right now.

It’s not like you wanted to go back. Nor do you want to stay in this world. But still, as an angel, it means you’re immortal. So you’ll be bored for a looooooong time. And that means Tristia might die soon too :(

Perhaps it’s a sign for you to explore this world. Even if someone finds out you’re an angel you could just fly away and escape (with Tristia too ofc)

Deciding to go out, and explore the world, you instructed Tristia to keep watch of the cabin and she bobbed her head in response.

"Bok bok!"

Does she understand you? I guess she does, I wonder why... (totally not foreshadowing anything ahaha-)

Giving Tristia one last pet, you walked out of the door with Tristia's eyes watching you leave...

Also, did I mention a pair of wine-red eyes were watching you leave the cabin too?

There is so much happening in this ask, but for some reason I keep coming back to "HEEHEEE???? what are you Michael Jackson?" because wow that made me actually LOL for real.

I'm always going to be for canon divergence. I say do whatever makes you happy! Your MC must truly have their hands full learning all that stuff with Barbatos and Solomon. But like if you're gonna learn those things, might as well learn from the best, right???

The thing I like about Barbatos is that he is very versatile. They've kept him very mellow in the game, but he has so much potential to go dark if you want to write him that way. I mean they don't even confirm that he actually has a torture dungeon in the game... I'm pretty sure it's just Mammon who says he's rumored to have one. But like by leaving it open ended like that, we can speculate all we like about it, you know?

And traditionally, wasn't that the point of demons? Aside from tempting humans, they're supposed to torture souls, right? I mean, I don't know how accurate that actually is, but it's interesting to think about.

I'm not especially obsessed with torture and I think it's pretty clear from my writing that I'm generally on the fluffier side of things lol. But it's interesting to think about, especially considering the types of characters we're dealing with here. And I really like the exploration of morality and inner evil and that sort of thing when it comes to heavy stuff like torture.

I thought it was very interesting in Barbatos Live how he calls MC his good conscience. 'Cause in Tea Time with You, he very much indicates that he used to do crazy stuff all the time, but then the Incident happened and now he doesn't. So wouldn't his guilt over whatever happened be his good conscience, like it has been all this time before MC showed up? Is he saying that MC just makes him want to stick to that even more?

Though he also says that it's like demon nature to have some darkness, so I don't know if he's talking about his specific experience necessarily. It's more like he's saying he wants to fight against his own nature? I dunno.

OH DANG but I love that idea about the maids and such in the castle! Demons that messed up so bad, now Barb keeps them at the castle to work??? What was that about not giving into the darkness???? lk;asdfkjlfd

I'm afraid I can't really comment on the amount of darkfic present in the fandom at any given time... due to being a Fluffster Extraordinaire, I'm faaaar more likely to read sweet lovey romance fics than Barb torture dungeon fics. Which isn't to say that I don't like the Barb torture dungeon situation because I do indeed find it very intriguing lol. I'm just usually like yo I want that guy to bake for me and make me tea, I don't care what he does in his spare time.

In fact, I really like the idea of a sweet and doting house husband Barbatos that pampers MC all day every day while being a ruthless and loyal demon butler the rest of the time. Like the dungeon isn't a rumor but as long as he washes off the blood when he comes back, MC is like whatever lol.

Oh but I also like the idea of MC being just as bad as him, now that I think about it. Like MC isn't ignorant, they don't turn a blind eye, they are right there with him, actively participating. The torture couple aadsflkjdfkjldf

I dunno, I think I'm considering it in more of a humorous way than a serious way, though.

Anyway, it's fun to consider all aspects of Barbatos because he has so many facets! And I think it's fun to explore the different sides of him.

What is this?

A wide and sweeping character poll that will encompass all significant, and many less than significant, characters in the Black Butler universe.

What characters will be included?

Characters from all types of Black Butler media: manga, anime, musicals, even the video game and the live action movie. Please note that this means there will be potential spoilers, as characters up to chapter 199 will be part of the polling.

Major, minor, and very minor characters will all be included, and will be tagged accordingly with the label that I believe best suits them. Characters unique to the video game and live action movie will all automatically receive a "very minor character" tag even if they are important to the plots of their respective media. Click here to see the tags that will be used.

Unnamed characters that have some significance to the plot but may be triggering won't be given their own polls unless a vocal majority objects. This includes characters like the people that sold the twins to the cult and the specific cult member that purchased them. The cultists will have a poll as a conglomerate. Baron Kelvin and other despicable characters that are named will have their own polls. Characters whose actions may be triggering will fall under the "burn in hell" tag.

Important objects and some animal characters will be included as well. This includes things I thought would simply be fun to vote on, such as the iceberg Grelle sits on in the Campania arc and the turnspit dog.

How does the voting work?

Character polls will generally come with five options to choose from: Love, Like, Indifferent/Who?, Dislike, and Hate.

Love and Like both count as a +1 positive vote for that character. Indifferent/Who? does not count towards the tally. Dislike and Hate count as a +1 negative vote for a character.

Number of votes will be calculated by multiplying total votes by the percentage of votes per option.

Most loved character and most hated character are separate tallies. Giving a hate vote does not minus a love vote; it is calculated separately.

Characters move higher up on the popularity list depending on the number of Love and Like votes they receive, not by a ratio of total votes. Characters move higher up on the unpopular list depending on the number of Dislike and Hate votes they receive, not by a ratio of total votes.

Ties for the popular vote will be broken based on the ratio of Love to Like votes; then the ratio of Love/Like to Hate votes; then the ratio of Love/Like to Dislike; and finally the ratio of Love/Like to Indifferent, in that order.

heyyyy thanks for asking! sure, always nice to cover the basics. ofc this will probably not be surprising to anyone who's heard me rant for a while now, but I'll explain it anyway.

top 3 first:

1. Ciel: an atrocious guy with very little social personality, and one of the best written protagonists I've personally read. I'm just really into digging through this guy's brain, and when he isn't destroying people he's doing things that end up being funny.

2. Sebastian: another well written protagonist, despite the fact that we know absolutely nothing about him other than the fact that his personality is "cats, I'm better than everyone, except for agni maybe". I remember in my first year in the fandom a friend and I had a like 2 hour long text conversation about how much we hated and loved Sebastian. terrible guy, couldn't have the series without him, leaves a lot to think about.

3. Grelle: she's just as if not more atrocious than the last 2 cause she made these awful decisions herself, but that doesn't stop me from respecting her work ethic and just thinking she's awesome in general. and aside from how cool she looks, I think her inner thoughts and relationships with her coworkers is so curious, there is a lot to explore here. compelling character for me.

4. Elizabeth: she's one of the purest characters out there and she is so complex. a good amount of people hate her or just find her annoying for whatever reason, but I think the trend here is that the more flawed the character is the better. she's trying so hard to please everyone. probably one of the most relatable characters in her own way.

5. Soma: the source of joy in my life, God I wish he was my friend. he and Agni are basically equal in my ranking, I think they're just the kid mentor duo, but unfortunately only one of them has the chance to keep developing... ;;;^;;;

6. Agni: "agni" was good every day of his life until the end. the only thing he did wrong was out of loyalty for Soma, Sebastian should be jealous of him cause he is all the butler that Sebastian will never be. plus he just cries sometimes and I respect that.

7. Ronald: this is such a fun guy, and yet I am capable of having long conversations about him and everything that he could have possibly been through, it has been done. his workplace dynamic is perfect. everyone needs a Ron.

8. Finny: another pure being, he's such an interesting and honestly rare character, I don't often see other people like him in media, so obviously he's interesting. he's one of the only characters in kuro who have deep trauma and yet doesn't act negatively on it, either because he's unable to comprehend it at length or because his love and positivity for all things is just stronger. also he's Ciel's big bro fr.

9. Meyrin: she's awesome, Hollywood and feminists alike wish they were able to write a strong female character like her😏 she's freakishly powerful and one of the most feminine people out there, and she deserves that after what she's been through. I will never stop supporting her, she's everyone's big sis and she's adorable.

10. Bard: proud dad to all the servants, he's the wacky beer uncle that we all wish we had. he's conservative but just give him some time cause he does care about people and what makes them happy.

Black Butler : Theory about Ciel Phantomhive's twin real name

Hi everyone, as a black butler's fan, I wanted to write a theory about what all the fans wonder : what's Ciel Phantomhive twin's true name ?

PS : In the texte, I will call him "the twin"

Ever since we found out that there was not one but two Phantomhive children, everyone has wanted to know the name of the character we've been following since the beginning of the story, if not 'Ciel Phantomhive'.

Most of us began to suspect that there were twins in the circus arc, in Baron Kelvin's flashbacks to his meeting with Vincent and "his" son.

The two are clearly visible.

I don't understand why Vincent always mentions "his" child and not "his children".

From chap 32 ; He mentions that it was "Ciel" who was ill, whereas it was his twin. Maybe he just got them mixed up. After all, the twin himself mentioned that they looked so much alike that even their parents confused them.

I wonder if Baron Kelvin knew there were two of them... He mentioned three people, and I doubt he was talking about Claus, since he was mostly fascinated by the Phantomhives. And without wanting to offend anyone, I wouldn't rank the beauty of Claus on the same level as the Phantomhives. So I think he knew.

To be honest, it's almost as if no-one apart from those very close to Vincent knew he had twins.

In addition, there seem to be almost no photos of the two twins together. Pet seemed to have the only one, he even mentioned, in the same chapter, that it was the first time he saw them together in the same place. (the twins were still 7 years old !) Plus Pet seems to know Vincent well so I guess they've known each other for a long time. And of course, for the sake of the plot, no one says the twin's name. Usually they are together so people say "both of you" or "you two"

Yet Vincent does not seem to hide it, the servants and the inhabitants of their county were all aware. Vincent even makes them go out together in their domain. What's more, they didn't have the same personnality at all. So if you know them, you can't confuse them anymore.

This moment made me hate Elizabeth's mother a lot, she calls Ciel's twin "his spare" and not him as a person, so I feel like she cares more about the bloodline of the Phantomhives than Ciel's twin, as she claims. Which reinforced Ciel's twin's inferiority complex.

From chap 132: Then came the time when they visited the pastor; Vincent said it was his wife who had named his children.

The pastor replies that the two children have unusual names, for England anyway. So "Ciel" and ...

Vincent responds effectively that he was scolded for not having given them more traditional names but that they are perhaps more suited to a not so distant future. Vincent is such a mysterious person...

We will now move on to the subject that interests you: the name of the twin.

To make this theory I have long looked for clues in the manga, as well as for certain Japanese cultures. I also investigated the tastes and personality of Yana Toboso a little. (don't ask me about it). According to the arc of Sirius, the longest because it is not yet finished, the nickname of the real Ciel is "Sirius the blue star" I personally think that the name of the twin is French, like his brother, if I decompose; "Sirius" the blood group, "the star" (?) and "blue" a bit the color that symbolizes them and can also be their favorite color. I think there is a clue. We have "star" left, I don't think that's his name so I would put something like "Astre".

At one point, the real Ciel mentioned to Polaris that he was no longer Lord Sirius but his little brother. I have long wondered if there was a hidden meaning behind those words besides what he really meant.

I finally finished it !!!!!! I hope you liked it.

reiterating this poll is for fun, and while I’ll try to keep it organized, I am not going out of my way to make a tumblr poll bracket I’m doing in my free time 100% bias-free or 100% optimized.

I reserve the right to add or remove ships to the initial bracket at my discretion, or to not answer all asks, or whatever else makes it more fun, short of actually changing results (I will let the people decide.) basically, if you have a problem with something about the way this competition is run, I don’t care.

I feel like this should go without saying but I do ascribe to the idea that some ships are inherently morally bad and deserve to be hated.
