You've always thought Soonyoung wasn't all that different from the sun.
He's often described as this big ball of energy who can't really contain all of it inside his own body. A similar thought crossed your mind when you were paired up with him for a class during freshman year, and when you inevitably found out he was a dancer, you weren't even surprised anymore.
His performances are a good way to channel all that vigor so he won't implode because of his own liveliness. Soonyoung was ridiculously talkative on his own, but when he gets to express himself through graceful yet precise movements? It's a different kind of mesmerizing.
You didn't really think you'd get to see him again since the class you shared already concluded last semester. But after finding out that Soonyoung often goes busking in the university quad with his friends, you're loath to admit that you've become a part of their regular audience.
You thought you could just watch him snap his body to the beat of whatever song they're performing in peace like always. Not like you expected campus crush Kwon Soonyoung to remember you when you don't even take the same degree program.
But right after their mid-semester performance, Soonyoung sprints towards your retreating form, yanking your arm back with an intensity that makes you yelp in surprise.
"Hey!" He beams, loosening his grip when he's sure you're not going anywhere. "You've been coming to our performances a lot. You were my partner in Lit class, right?"
You stare at him inquisitively, wary of the odd looks being thrown your way as you and Soonyoung stand in front of the main building's entrance.
"Uh," you start, bouncing on the balls of your feet. "Yeah. I didn't think you'd remember."
Soonyoung gasps like you just made an offensive joke. "Why would I forget someone as pretty as you?"
You aren't one to keep tabs on other people you go to school with, but you know, for one, that Soonyoung doesn't have a reputation for wooing people with cheesy pick-up lines.
No, he was too wrapped up in putting together the best dance routines and choreographies his perpetually buzzing brain could come up with to even spare a thought about flirting with other people. This is something you've come to understand more and more the longer you are into your friendship with Soonyoung.
But if that's really the case...
"You're so, so pretty. Have I told you that?"
Soonyoung's breath is hot against your ear as his fingers trail up the intricate scaffold of your spine—making you shiver as he latches his lips onto the cut of your jaw.
"Only a dozen and a half times," you sigh, carding your fingers through his newly bleached hair. White suits him a bit too much, you think. "Don't you have any more compliments up your sleeve? That's kind of getting old."
His laughter vibrates against his chest as he crowds you further up the wall of the nightclub where he's decided to pounce on you tonight. This isn't the first time Soonyoung has pulled you a bit too close, giving a bit too sultry kisses for mere friends to share, but the thought still stands.
He is the sun, and you're no different from Icarus the damned.
You aren't sure what it is that's giving your head a pleasant buzz—the alcohol, the music, Soonyoung's fingers buried inside your sopping cunt, or a combination of all three.
He's always so eager, so desperate to see you crumble beneath his touch, that when he presses your foreheads together to stare at you with a look that's not so different from a man in love, you nearly fool yourself into thinking that...whatever you have with him is more than what it actually is.
"Soooo fucking pretty," Soonyoung whispers, curling his fingers in a way that has you clinging onto him like your life depended on it. "I love how wet you always are; how tight you always get for me."
"Then f-fuck me already, Soonie," you whimper, nails raking across his designer jacket as his fingers graze the sensitive patch of flesh inside you. "Not like you haven't done that here already."
Soonyoung lets out another low-pitched laugh before capturing your lips again, framing the syllables of your name with a fondness that's always been there, but one you repeatedly chose to ignore.
You're lucky enough to be tangled up with one of the hottest fucking guys in your university. You're not about to push your luck and ponder getting anything more from him.
He's always been a giver. When Soonyoung makes you cream on his fingers, all he does is lick your essence off each digit before kissing you again—pulling away before you can even offer to get on your knees for him here on the dingy floor.
"Just seeing you all wrecked for me is enough," he snickers, despite the bulge straining against his jeans. "Enjoy the rest of the night, pretty."
When he walks back into the dancefloor, he's no different from the boy that caught your attention in the quad all those years ago. Dancing and moving to the rhythm like he hasn't just thrown you off of yours when he fingered you out in the open.
No matter how many times Soonyoung calls you pretty, you can't help but think that he'll always be more worthy of the title.
But you deliberately choose not to stare at him all night like some sort of lovesick damsel. You know better than that.
Stare at the sun for too long, and you'll go blind.

⟢ end notes: hoshi as the overly attached half of the fwb set-up and reader as the in-denial half, so true <3 i like to think that he's the type to have no problem expressing these tiny notes of affection, but at the same time is kind of oblivious as to what those words/actions really entail so reader gets a bit over her head abt it sometimes. hoshi is a lil unaware like that, i'm afraid.

hi !! i forgot to post these initially, but ive rewritten a bunch of stuff from my kny fantasy au :]
these are just general messy pieces of a couple people + infodumping below :]]c
(Piece 1)
Kyojuro and Senjuro are a duo of brothers born into the Rengoku family, that's left their sons especially well known for generations for their eagerness and being willing to assist others with any sorts of labour or tasks they're unable to complete by themselves. Being from a long line of centaurs, Kyojuro himself included, this gives them a lot of advantages over the general population who are predominantly human and allows them to physically handle a lot more. Senjuro, however, is a little bit of a different story- Shinjuro and Ruka Rengoku aren't an expected pairing from this bloodline, with Ruka being a faun lady rather than another centaur. Because of this, instead of being the norm, Senjuro, despite having the strong, usual features of a Rengoku, was born a faun, leading him to having to help people in a slightly different way to his elder brother. However, it doesn't stop him from accompanying Kyojuro out every now and then.
(Piece 2)
A well renowned group of performers, labelled misfits by some who have their reservations about their tales and music, Tengen Uzui and what are rumoured by some to be his three wives Suma, Makio and Hinatsuru have made a name for themselves here after coming out of nowhere with the girls' musical talents and Tengen's unique and self-described "flashy" appearance, often the initial factor drawing the common folk to their shows, to which they ultimately stay for their display, intrigued by their stories. Stories that are brought to life with stunning song and performance, allowing an almost vivid, painterly visual to appear to the audience. Whether this is merely their minds at work or truly a piece of the group's own magic is debated, but the true answer has yet to be revealed.
(Piece 3)
Within the Demigoddess of Life & Health's sanctuary of peace, the center at which her tree of life lies- accompanying her guardian Yushiro aswell are the two children she took in and under her wing while they were still quite young. An older brother and younger sister, Gyutaro and Daki are both satyrs with surprisingly, vastly different appearances. The duo were originally only to stay short-term- however as Lady Tamayo begins to realise that there is more to these two than first appears, she asks them personally if they would be willing to stay with her longer. The pair since a young age have experienced strange visions of an... inverted world, displaying many horrors beyond belief to commoners, however such tall tales have never been truly believed by anybody else, labeling the children as merely 'crying wolf' because their world has been at peace for centuries. Why these visions of theirs intrigue the Demigoddess is unknown, but when it's brought up, she often has a look of distant sadness on her face.
The duo were often left to their own devices as they grew older, and seemed to eventually grow to enjoy causing trouble, described by some as delinquents- though one day, a young man they had found near their home had caught their interest. He didn't appear to look anything like they had seen before- with scales and horns, almost reptilian in appearance, if he didn't have the face of a man, albeit his cheeks covered in scales. He introduced himself to the siblings as Kaigaku, and boldly stated he was a draconoid- however they had been presumed extinct for years. He had run away from his adoptive home... yet again, and had gone out into the forest to get away from the stuffiness back there, however ultimately got lost as he wasn't aware of where he was going, not often venturing out until recent years in 'teenage rebellion'. This was the start of the small group's friendship, as the young man would continue to come back to the siblings to see them specifically, which caused them to eventually enjoy one another's company. Lady Tamayo does have a few small reservations about him, though hasn't disclosed as to why to anybody.
(Piece 4)
Living within a small estate in the woods with her sisters- Shinobu is a doctor of sorts, though it certainly wouldn't be assumed at first glance, due to her more unprofessional approach. Don't allow that to fool you, however- due to her lesser magical and physical strength as a fairy, she instead has devoted herself to helping the less fortunate in a more medical way and has succeeded far more than the average run of the mill practitioner. She sometimes lurks over previous patients who suffered from particularly serious issues for a while, merely in order to keep her eyes on them and see how they fare. One previous patient in particular she's kept an eye on is a curious sorcerer- one... seemingly born with his powers, rather than having to study arcane text in order to gain them as most do. Glowing marks engraved on his skin, Giyuu was a rather unique case to the sisters. With his mortal body unable to fully handle his power's true extent, his form began to erode. It was only with the enchanted red bindings around his body he was able to contain his power, at the cost of his ability to use it as he pleases, it's repeated use often causing exhaustion. He's made a full recovery as of now, however with what's contained inside of him, his state is quite unpredictable and could change in the blink of an eye.

*Sigh* Ok, ok, firstly, I just wanna know where the people who don't mind the culture shift, but also still don't really like the show are. Like — I actually really like the casting choice for The Addams They're really cool and I really like them. Personally, I'm particularly fond of Wednesday and Gomez but still.
I just… don’t really like some aspects of this remake. One being that the actors for Gomez and Morticia felt so...uncomfortable while performing. Like the 1991 & 1993 movies, Gomez and Morticia were so clearly and so fondly in love and were very comfortable with expressing that, with their over-dramatic expressions of love feeling very easily expressed and normal for them. Here, I don't think the actors were quite as comfortable in performing that kind of expression of love, which just kinda made their romantic interactions just uncomfortable to watch.
Also, it's disappointing that they kind of just... abandoned the murderous core of the Addams? Like, I understand that there may be more appeal in having the Addams keeping the torture to themselves rather than bestowing it onto unwilling victims, but I think it just feels a lot like... telling us that they enjoy torture and fighting rather than showing it. In all the scenes where we see them, the Addams seem so uncomfortable when it comes to causing or receiving torture or harm. They flinch at needing to kill someone, and yet they say that they revel in it? Gomez takes insult at being told he isn't a person capable for murder and yet as far as we know, he is?
It makes their whole torture ordeal seem like it's just for show which feels disappointing and sad. It just makes it feel like this show is trying to call the old 1991 Addams family fake. As if they too were only ever really putting on a show to impress or (more accurately) surprise people, which I just really, really hate. Originally, the Addams family felt like a group that cried out that you did not have to conform to the ideals of the people around you to be happy, which speaks a lot to queer communities and neurodivergent people—even people of color. By implying that they're just... faking being strange or odd, it just makes me feel like I'm attempting to exclude myself.
Thing, I think is practically their only indication for being odd or strange and yet he's often set aside, and just acts like a strange yet funny sidekick amidst these Addams. He kinda feels like the token character to remind the audience that these are the Addams who have very strange and murder-y things with them.
I think, largely the issue here is that we don't know these Addams. here, the Addams are an entirely new set of characters separated from the older 1991 and 1993 movies, but because of the opening with Wednesday and Wednesday's typical demeanor amidst the entire thing, I kinda felt like I was led to assume that it would comply with the older movies, only to be unpleasantly surprised.
I know they're trying to set up a huge mystery surrounding who the Addams are and how that's tied into this school and the town, but with the way the story is currently going, I feel like we may never know.
It feels like I'm reading an alternate universe (AU) fanfic where the characters are represented differently than in the original source material, but it is not readily obvious. Like sure, the setting is a little different, and their situation seemed to have changed a bit, but the story implies that it's the same characters who have lived through the same events as they did in the source material. While some people may be interested to witness or understand why this change exists, most people will feel like the characters are being OOC and will quickly abandon the story because they don't understand why their favorite characters are so different.
Because this story is so clearly different from the 1991 Addams family, the show probably should have established not only how and why the family was different but also how they are tied into the original Addams. They should have been introduced as if they were entirely new characters. Show what they're like when they're in their element. When they're killing and murdering or if not that, torturing and being tortured. If they don't kill, establish that. Maybe make a statement along the lines of, "Addams don't Kill, we don't want to cut their torture off short, do we Wednesday?" which would help us to better understand why Gomez and Morticia would react that way to a murder.
Idk, maybe I'm just biased because I liked the 1991 Addams family and the 1993 Addams family values movies, and because I know that version of the Addams family so well, I just can't appreciate this new iteration of them.

(( could you go more into the color symbolism of your Keeper characters? as in, why certain colors were chosen for them? ))
//OH BOI, absolutely
With Emma, the answer might be a little disappointing but it really was a matter of the stereotype of girls liking pink, there isn't really much deeper symbolism there. She just likes pink, just thinks it's neat, though as she got older she wore a bit more purples and was canonically wearing a lavender dress when she died
and the purple there had nothing deeper either she just. thought it was neat
That being said, her having ginger hair like Trost might be the best hit for symbolism since it could symbolize how he was the caretaker she was the closest to and the way they were both connected to the tragedy
and with most of the others, I can really put my tinfoil hat on and draw all the red lines. ... about characters I created.
Tumblr media
Ok so Niemand/Tulpen's main color has always been yellow. As the certified main helper character -- wait crap
Tumblr media
SORRY ALWAYS FORGET HOW TO SPELL THAT WORD. as the deuteragonist I wanted to make sure he had a bright, hopeful color associated with him and that it was unmistakable. From the very first concept he was supposed to be the one helping MC out of the bad scary place, so it was both important to have a color they could easily pick out in any environment while also not having it clash with my vision of who he is as a character.
And despite everything he is still one of the most innocent and childlike characters in the Void, which I think yellow is a great representation for, just childlike warmth and innocence

help. what did I do wrong
Jemand, similarly, is one of those characters I've had in mind from the very get-go so I've had a while to solidify his design and personality
Black-and-white is deeply embedded in the character. Even his spirit, which along with the others' is supposed to look like a cloud, still follows a strict checkered color-scheme and it's a cloud, boi is defying physics for his aesthetic and we should love that for him. We should be jealous, honestly, and feel bad about ourselves to not have that.
But not getting into how great he is and how awful we are, since he can do that himself...
Jemand is one of the only characters who can, and is the only one who DOES, choose to appear in grayscale. He can make his entire body look like it's showing up through a black and white filter, and while I don't bring it up often while writing him, he usually looks like that unless he's in an environment where that sort of thing would bring on too much confusion for his safety (ex. Earth).
And I think there is a strong symbolic importance to that.
It's important to note that during his performances and concerts, despite remaining in grayscale, Jemand's shows are some of the most dramatic and bombastic explosions of color you'll see. They are over-the-top and beautiful, and he really goes out of his way to make sure they're incredible to any audience.
But there is something deeper to those performances. Anyone close enough to Jemand will have him admit at some point that despite the parties and shows, he feels empty. He not only feels like people only appreciate him if they see something so surface-level, but that's all they CAN do because who he actually is would be so unlikable they'd leave if he showed anything real.
And while that's already complicated, and while it would be understandable since Jemand truly has done some horrific things, these sorts of feelings have been stewing even since Emma was alive. It's something that goes to the core of his character.
But that's another thing the black-and-white can symbolize.. it's technically a form of deception. If there's one thing about Jemand, it's that he constantly lies. He can do so effortlessly and without even thinking about it. He paints a black-and-white view of the world where he's an innocent who can do no wrong and everyone else is the bad guy, and sometimes he lies when there isn't even any need to do so for his own self-preservation. I think the checkered motif can symbolize a blinkered view on behalf of whoever only has his deceptive words to go by.
And while I did want to do this in chronological order, just for Renee I'll break the pattern like she breaks spines, because the black-and-white motif also carries over to her, and for a similar reason.
I mean obviously she's not a shameless liar but she does have an extremely black-and-white sort of way of thinking. "You are a bad person, you are a good person", etc. etc. she thinks in strict dichotomies, no nuance. And while it is very understandable with what she's been through, this "one side or the other" perspective is preventing the recovery of the boys she claims to want. Similarly to Jemand, she'll think of any and every of her own actions in the most charitable light possible, and try to justify any and every abuse to the people she hates.
... I guess I don't need to explain the symbolism of her other main color being red mksaldmd
BUT SHE DOES ALSO HAVE GOLD, she both wears gold jewelry and her office building has some gold highlights inside
Which I think could symbolize her somewhat holy/religious nature, being literally empowered by the spirits of dead humans
ALRIGHT BACK TO TRYING TO DO THIS CHRONOLOGICALLY
(lmao I messed it up from the get-go by putting Niemand before Jemand)
Laut's color is purple, and this is typically a color symbolic of royalty and wealth and... well. Laut is the only one who puts any form of emphasis on wealth and even exhibits some forms of classism (and the only reason this DOESN'T make him look like a complete tool is because he doesn't actually know what wealth or an economy even is or anything)
But yes, he is a very pompous uppity "high class" man, who wants to present himself with an air of regal superiority, so purple really suits him
and he wears a purple SUIT hahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!
TODDIIIEEEEEEE
(ngl I think it's funny how that literally started as Schatz's nickname for him that he hates, and then some of his ships were like "I'm gonna call u that" and he's like "omg I love that name..........")
anywho
while Toddie's bright orange hair is the first thing most people would notice about him, he kind of has the most basic look of everyone of the Void, just dressing in brown sweats and sometimes not even wearing shoes
And while the orange could be said to have symbolic meanings to his character and is technically his "main" color, the brown, to me, holds a lot more to him. It's a color that doesn't match his spirit yet he chooses to wear it.
He deliberately goes without bathing or other forms of hygiene as a form of self-harm. He doesn't want to be friendly, he doesn't want people near him. He wants (or at least thinks he wants) to be repulsive.
But given that orange is a color that has symbolized warm feelings and optimism and happiness, I do think that does hold some truth to who Todd was, and who he could still be even if he's convinced he can't
and while there technically are a lot more characters I could get into the weeds on this is actually already getting really long so
I PROMISE I'LL GIVE A PART 2

Oppenheimer (2023)
Tumblr media
Visually striking, magnificently performed and expertly written, Oppenheimer is the kind of movie that doesn’t really contain any twists but makes you feel like you need to see it more than once. This is a movie that sticks with you.
In 1954, J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy) attends a private hearing before a Personnel Security Board to dispute his clearances. As the man who helmed the Manhattan Project, Oppenheimer feels personally responsible for the use of nuclear weapons. He seeks to limit their use and the development of future, more devastating weapons. As part of the hearing, Oppenheimer’s past is examined. Everything from his time studying experimental physics in Cambridge to his working relationships with famed physicists, his supposed communist ties and his many extra-marital affairs are laid bare.
The first thing to discuss is the picture’s running time. Oppenheimer clocks in at about 3 hours if you include the credits. That’s a lot but only in the sense that you probably shouldn't start watching it at 10:30 pm. In practice, it doesn’t feel long; not at all. In fact, the extended running time is one of the reasons why this film is so successful. There are A LOT of people to keep track of. We meet Albert Einstein, Niel Bohr and other physicists you haven’t heard of. More relevant to Oppenheimer's personal life is his second wife, “Kitty” (Emily Blunt), the woman he has an affair with, Jean Tatlock (Florence Pugh), his brother, Frank (Dylan Arnold), the director of the Manhattan Project, Gn. Leslie Groves (Matt Damon), and the man who recruits him, Lewis Strauss (Robert Downey Jr.). If this movie was cramming everything in 90 minutes, you’d struggle to remember who’s who, what are they doing and why.
Having that extra bit of time to process everything is a blessing. Those extra minutes also allow director Christopher Nolan (who co-wrote the screenplay with Emma Thomas and Charles Roven) to show us what makes Oppenheimer tick. There’s an immensity to the picture. We understand the destruction these weapons are capable of and the responsibility that accompanies them because we saw how big a project it was, how long it took and how worried the people were during their development. The secrecy, the uncertainty, how it consumed the lives of those involved. We understand the magnitude of what Oppenheimer and his team unleashed when no one else seems to.
One of my favorite things about biographical films is that they teach you about people. Specifically, they teach you to love some and hate others. Well, maybe that says more about me than about the movies. During Oppenheimer, you’ll develop a love-hate relationship with many people. On the one hand, Oppenheimer is so mature in his handling of the nuclear equation. In other aspects of his life, he’s so irresponsible he threatens to doom us all. Why can’t he stop cheating on his wife? Why can’t he understand that associating himself with communists puts him and his work at risk, regardless of how little he actually believes in the political system’s merit? The one you’ll develop the strongest feelings for is undoubtedly Lewis Strauss, but he’s in the movie a lot. You might excuse him as a… complicated person.
Pairing the pink-infused Barbie with Oppenheimer, preferably as a "Barbenheimer" double-feature (two 5-star movies in my book) is fun and begs an important question: which do you watch first? I saw both, back to back. The funny thing is that in some ways, they're not as different as they'd seem. Both, for instance, contain surreal fantasy sequences that allow us to peer into the protagonist's mind and ask big questions about where their titular characters belong in our world, how they affect(ed) it and what we, as audiences, can learn from that. The main difference is that Barbie is often funny and uplifting, while Oppenheimer is somber and heavy. That might make you lean towards the doll movie second, as a way to leave the theater feeling good, but honestly, you can't go wrong with the reverse order either. While Oppenheimer can feel overwhelming, teetering towards the depressing, it's also so well made, so powerfully acted and so grandiose of an experience that ultimately, it makes you feel good to have witnessed it. See them both. See them more than once - just don't start your marathon at 10:30 pm. (August 11, 2023)

something that does have a real weight of sorrow for me in all these discussions about elvis, and portrayals of elvis, is that ultimately the overwhelming majority is some degree of projection, and that's rarely kept in mind. we don't know for certain how he felt about things which occurred in his life, how he perceived them, internalized them, because he never had the chance to tell his own story. every book written is from the perspective of its teller, whether it comes from love or greed, compassion or condemnation. every script and every actor is an interpretation, and by necessity condensed and fictionalized. whenever someone says something about the feminine view of the coppola movie, i think about how that's not as unusual as they seem to think it is, we have a swath of women's stories about him - linda, ginger, kathy, june, anita, mindi, and so on, they've shared their experiences and perspectives on him, like priscilla has, for decades (and those are remarkably consistent). this isn't me saying they shouldn't, they have the right to share their voices, and those accounts told are what we have as biographical record of him, but still, every individual naturally speaks from a place of personal bias. this is, of course, startlingly true with everything members of the mm have put out there as well.
people keep contrasting the luhrmann film with coppola's, and it's wildly missing the point because they're not even looking through the same lens. as much as i love baz's work and think the film is so affecting and beautiful, it's necessary to remember that elvis is actually NOT the pov character. that's our antagonist, parker. austin's remarkable and empathetic performance is the beating heart of the movie, but in many respects elvis (2022) isn't solely about elvis presley, and it's not supposed to be. it's about the struggle of empty capitalism vs. fulfilling creation and art, it's about exploitation and grief, it's about the upheaval and changing landscape of american culture and how this singular man was used as a lens through which to filter those shifts. his social consciousness is relevant because it's too often overlooked, or ignored altogether, in his legacy, and that, like his passion for music, like his spirituality, was essential to his soul and his artistry, but we also need to see that conflict of parker not having understanding for that hunger and grace because they're positioned as the dichotomy of a transforming age. its aim is focused on his influence and resonance as a performer, which is why it's often grand and kaleidoscopic. when the movie truly, wholly becomes dedicated to elvis is the switch flip during unchained melody. i'd argue, in fact, that's why it's powerful - we spend two and a half hours as an audience by intent, told this story, watching the rise and struggles of this man, but at a bit of a thoughtful remove, guided by the colonel, who doesn't even get why we're there. the colonel who tells us directly elvis' tragedy was love, and only we are allowed to perceive that love was also his triumph. the final moments of the film allow the crossing of that bridge, where it's between us and elvis, and the connection and legacy he left behind.
obviously i haven't seen priscilla (2023) and thus cannot comment on its narrative structure or portrayal, but can say that once again, the human being he was individually isn't intended to be the center. she's the focal point and the pov character and it's necessary to keep that in mind. elvis is the supporting player, no matter how large he may loom, in a story about a young woman's journey into a whirlwind and to self-discovery.
the trouble with all these varying accounts and portrayals, no matter how sensitively or salaciously done, is that elvis presley disappears into Elvis™ in the ensuing discussion. he becomes a cipher for whatever anyone viewing and commenting WANTS him to be - scintillating iconoclast or tragic disaster, brilliant musician or embarrassing hack, generous, pensive soul or overbearing, gauche cautionary tale. all of which easily becomes too simplistic or too judgmental, erasing his personhood and complexity and extraordinary humanism for the quickest possible sound bite.
there's no real point to me saying all this beyond it being something i feel is essential to remember and to process. he never told this in his own words, so we piece every account together (playing detective, as austin said), learn to differentiate the noise and the furor from the quiet, persistent truths, find the spirit of the person he was and his dreams and philosophies and heart that are left behind, that do still captivate and comfort people who listen.
this is why i don't feel like our job is to constantly go to war for him, or to try and prove haters hanging onto their ugliest possible opinions wrong (it hasn't worked for decades), because even in that tumult, threads are lost and value is obscured. it's not our responsibility to rescue his image. loving what he gave us is enough.

do you have any favorite non-Taylor performance looks? I really like hearing your thoughts on that stuff because it goes beyond "looks good/looks bad"
sorry it took me a while to answer this but i wanted to give you a good answer! i am terrible at thinking of thinking of things off the top of my head so i compiled the below over a few days. i'm sure i missed many that i'll kick myself for later, but this is what i got for now! also thank you so much for saying that! I love being thoughtfully critical and analytical of things, especially fashion and clothing which, to me, is function first. that can be boring for some people who want to just like or dislike something, and they're totally valid for that. but i'm glad you enjoy this sort of discussion like I do. it's really fun for me to probe my brain this way so thanks so much for sending this question! (these are in no particular order other than just what popped into my head)

an obvious choice, a recency bias choice, but also there's a reason this pops into your brain (if it does, which makes you correct and hot). While most of the people who remember this experienced this via the livestream that night (if you're like me losing my mind at 2 am) or via the eventual tour movie on netflix, it's still extremely successful because of the distance the camera often sits from the stage. very out of the norm for a filmed concert, where the instinct is to get close ups which make the film worth watching. if i wanted to see full stage views i would just go to the concert. but the reason the camera spends so much time far back and beholding the entire stage is because as much as beyonce is the center of the show, the stage and every single member of her band and dancers were also the center show. it was a full experience from corner to corner, and a major part of what made it so breathtaking was the tour costumes. color blocking isn't anything revolutionary, but it's so rarely employed like this because tour designers fear same-ness and losing the popstar amongst the dancers. but employed in this way, where the venue created audience members at extreme distances, it was a logistical stroke of genius to create a sea of yellow or pink, easy to see and behold from long distances. Also, a fantastic execution of a concept (which i'll probably reiterate several times that a unifying concept is CRUCIAL) that is both theatrical to watch and personal to the artist. Not only featuring the artistry and visual of outfitting her dancers and band/orchestra as HBCU marching band and color guard members, but going as far as to make her own fake sorority, i mean that's just spectacular. Effortlessly cool in it's appearance, while also deeply moving to the HBCU and black community who got to see their artistry and culture proudly displayed by the worlds biggest popstar. doesn't get better than this, in my opinion. Thoughtful, logistically solving problems, and wholly unique to the show and the artist herself. BONUS for her opening costume where she appeared as Queen Nefertiti!!!! all designed custom for her by olivier rousting, of balmain wunderkind fame. TWO DIFFERENT VARIATIONS OF THIS AS WELL

2. Britney Spears - Dream Within A Dream Tour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
one of the all time tours in general, in the history of pop tours, and one of the major components was the costumes. Too many to find and show, but that's also what makes it marvelous. An astounding number of costume changes and sets that worked with the costumes in concept. One of which is above, a giant music box that she rises out of dressed as a ballerina in the middle of the show. another being the denim cowboy outfit, complete with chaps and a lucite cowboy hat because the show broke out into rain. it was an indoor traveling show, and yet the entire final song was done in the rain. also, projected onto the rain was a 30 ft tall hologram of britney IN THIS OUTFIT. I highly suggest you check out this tour if you can find it. there is a tour movie and it's probably on youtube somewhere. She also brought out a lot of her music video costumes, including my favorite, the lucky feather trimmed robe which translates phenomenally on stage.
Tumblr media
3. Madonna - Confessions tour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
another one for the history books, just an incredible run of dozens of costumes all unique to the themes of the songs or chapters of the show. above, she opens the show in a sexy riding outfit with a mane coming off the top of the hat (she got very into being an equestrian in her british era until she had an accident with her horse). you can see in the background a lot of the dancers are also outfitted in riding outfits, all with crops and helmets. you can also see the male dancers who are dressed as like bdsm horses, complete with reigns in their mouth, who she then RIDES on their backs. Only to be followed up by a performance of like a virgin where she performs suggestively on top of a saddle. she runs through 19 songs in full, almost each of them with their own sets including a whole parkour set and finishing off with the final "disco" act. complete with a saturday night fever suit that she and her dancers wear and ending in a roller disco. incredible stuff. we love a strong theme that ties into the theatrics!!
Tumblr media
4. Ariana grande - dangerous woman tour
Tumblr media
this one is less flashy and showy, but i really love structural costumes. given ari's low center of gravity, they're easy for her to pull off! joking, but also she does minimal dancing and comes from broadway/theater so she can carry more theatrical costumes. and i love when a costume cuts a cool silhouette and transforms the body. having been to this tour, the pink chiffon bow outfit was one of my favorites because of how the loops bounced as she ran around, as if they were little wings. Also, she closed the show (post encore) with an extended dangerous woman, complete with fire on stage and her at the end of the catwalk in this black latex gown. Her black silhouette against all the red/orange was really striking and you can't really see it here, but it dragged all around her and made her look like she was this foreboding black sludge demon. all while going on the most insane vocal runs i've ever heard in my life, completely ad-libbed.
Tumblr media
5. Lady Gaga - Monster Ball Tour (original theater run and revamped arena run)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it would not be a complete list without miss gaga herself, the woman who singlehandedly reset what it meant to be a popstar. And it began with this tour, which after Kanye's taylor swift fiacso in 2009, went into hiding and their joint tour that was planned was scrapped. instead, gaga embarked on the monster ball tour, which she threw together in a few weeks i believe. it was a theater only show, so a small stage, but she went all out. and as we all know, her favorite way to devote resources is to pour them into costumes via her haus of gaga team. The costumes on this first leg of the show were whacky, sculptural, and of course, very theatrical, making her a larger than life popstar even on the small stage. The show was revamped after the north american run with europe getting a totally reworked and redesigned show that was upgraded to arenas. super deep little monsters cherish the memories of this brief and wildly creative show. i mean the exoskeleton costume is astounding. there are many more you can look at, and i encourage you to if you have never seen or heard of this brief, first leg. although i did go to both, and i enjoyed the arena tour too and all of it's upgrades. including how she lit her tits and crotch on fire i meeeeaaaannnn. now THATS a tour costume.
Tumblr media
Honorable mention - Beyonce Formation tour
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the hats truly being one of the most memorable visuals i've seen on a tour in person. i has higher seats for this one, and it was at citi field which is a baseball stadium, notoriously HORRENDOUS for concerts. anyway, from the cheap seats i could even be blown away by the opening of the song, formation, where she and a group of dancers, all donning these exaggerated brimmed hats, marched forward from backstage as the screens parted. they were lit so they were full black silhouettes and you couldn't tell which one was beyonce, on purpose. the opening to the song was extended as they stomped around until they lifted their chins and revealed themselves in the light, to rapturous applause. it was dramatic, but so simple, and a great example how tour costumes don't have to be intricate. sometimes, it's way more effective to play with shape and shadow and drama. She also closed the whole tour run by swapping out the black bodysuit for a yellow cavalli suit, which i mean INCREDIBLE flex to wear a full 3 piece suit when you're sweating and running around. cut gorgeously on her, those fantastic flared legs. In lemonade, bumblebee yellow, of course.
Tumblr media
i limited it to tour looks cuz if i delved into award show looks that might take me forever to compile. also this is not a definitive list, even for myself. i'm sure i forgot some favs i just couldn't keep adding to this and putting off posting this ask forever lol. anyway, hope you enjoyed this as much as i did going down memory lane.

This might be a jump that I’m only doing in my head, but so often a young girl not looking her age or not ‘acting’ her age is seen as enough of a reason to not treat them as their age. Like when pple say ‘ girls mature faster’ so some 20 year old guy can be ‘dating’ a 16 year old if she is posing on insta looking like a model in her 20s. Or like how a 13 year old black boy will get treated and seen as an adult while a white 13 yro still thought of as a kid.
So I just dunno if saying the show got it wrong from day one cause ‘if Elizabeth looked super young everyone would have understood it’s abuse’ is right. I don’t think Alicia looks her age, and I definitely get a young vibe from her performance. And the show states repeatedly her age and that she’s ‘a child’, if people still see it as a romance just cause they’re not automatically getting the ick watching it, I don’t think that’s really fair.
I get your point that with a younger actress the material would have been tamer, but the show obviously decided it was going to go there with the abuse which is why they didn’t cast someone super young, I don’t think that’s a fault of casting or Alicia, but a decision by the creators. But tbh even if the scenes had been much milder, I wouldn’t have liked to see the ’ ep 2 ‘rooster’ antics if Tom Cullen in his mid 30s was ripping the bed sheets off an 18 year old actress, never mind a younger one. I wouldn’t have been more tuned into Elizabeth’s age and abuse cause I’d be far too preoccupied seeing the actors behind the characters.
So I want to make it very clear since I guess that was opened to being misconstrued, I do not blame Alicia for taking the role and doing her job. It is not Alicia's job to manage the material, ask for rewrites, or do anything other than what she is paid to do, which she is doing. At no point am I blaming Alicia for choices made by the creators and nothing negative I say about the creative decision of the show is meant to be a negative about Alicia. Good? Clear? Great.
As I've said in my post, I haven't watched this show beyond clips. The information I'm getting is information from reviews and history/period drama reviewers I know across social media platforms that I've been engaging with on the subject (and also my mother who is watching the show, is as into the Tudors as I am, and is offering me her takes as she goes along). Take what I say with a grain of salt because I am currently not the audience watching the show (and probably won't be until the first season is finished).
But, all that being said: which is it? Is the show saying that Elizabeth's abuse is being excused by her abuser as her being "mature for her age", the way you mentioned, or is it repeatedly trying to let the audience know that she's "a child", the way you mentioned? And more importantly, my issue isn't about the show "going there" wrt to the abuse and my being upset it's not tame, my issue is that what the show is "going" towards is portraying a man in his forties fucking a fourteen year old in real time, that they're getting away with because they cast actors who have a more similar age gap to Elizabeth and Edward VI than Elizabeth and Thomas Seymour. My issue is that they are using Alicia being a grown woman, and thus not under the purview of things like child pornography laws, to make this as sexy and eroticized and graphic in the worst ways.
Like I said in my OG post, the problem is that the show's apparent mishandling of this abuse (particularly egregious, given how Anya Reiss was really hyping up that they were meant to be handling this sensitively and the end result is........This), combined with Alicia very much looking like an adult woman and not a girl who is meant to be starting this show who's been thirteen for less than half a year, offers ambiguity and thus cover for Seymour for people who aren't well versed in the history and are tuning into this show because they know who Elizabeth is and maybe saw Young Bess back in the day and were curious. They are presenting a scenario where, instead, of seeing someone barely into her teens being abused by a man practically the same age her own mother would have been, they're seeing two adults engaging in a tantalizing push and pull thanks not only to the apparent writing choices, but the choice to have Elizabeth be played by an adult.
On the subject of "I wouldn’t have liked to see the ’ ep 2 ‘rooster’ antics if Tom Cullen in his mid 30s was ripping the bed sheets off an 18 year old actress, never mind a younger one.", yeah, that's kind of my point. No one should be liking anything that's going on, nothing portrayed should be Open To Interpretation, considering how determined they were to hammer into everyone's head in pre-release material that they understood that the Seymour situation was abuse and they were going to sensitively handle it as such. Appropriate casting would have actually helped add to the story they were telling (assuming that's the story they wanted to to tell) by producing visceral shock and disgust and horror in the audience at Elizabeth's treatment at the hands of an adult man. Having it be two adults with the same age gap as my parents cheapens that.
Sorry to talk about GOT again cuz that's a shitshow if I ever saw one but the season 2 throne room scene with Sansa is legit awful to watch, meant to be awful to watch, and emphasizing the point of the scene, that Joffrey is awful and Sansa is in real danger and everyone is too scared of him to intervene save one of our core protagonists Tyrion, enhanced by the fact that Sophie was similar in age to her character (and it was still toned down from its source material due to the actress's age). And there's also things like cuts, filming tricks, editing, the use of body doubles in case things start running the risk, and obviously having appropriate counseling and anything else necessary available to the actress, so that they can avoid breaking the law and avoid causing undo harm to this hypothetical actress while still showcasing the abuse as abuse while having to deal with the fact that they don't get to add in ahistorical graphic sex scenes.
If you think I'm being unfair to Alicia, my apologies, none of these issues are with her and as I said, I think she's a good actress. If you think I'm being unfair to Anya, the rest of the writers, and their casting department (since casting is ultimately up to the creatives), then you are well within your rights to do so. But I am also well within my rights to feel that the casting choices made, compounded by the writing choices made, doesn't sit right with me, causes problems, and ultimately cheapens the tale they've told us they're telling, but failing to actually deliver on because of these factors.

Young Talents in All Fields and Economic Growth
Tumblr media
Introduction
Young talents in all fields are a stirring tool for economic growth. Countries should nurture young people's talents for the purpose of economic growth. It is an undeniable fact that talent is the key to success. However, it is not always easy to find. Nowadays, with the increasing difficulty in finding a job, more and more young people are turning to entrepreneurship. This article discusses how youths talents are the driving force behind economic growth.
Why are young talents so important for economic growth?
There are a few key reasons why youths talents are so important for economic growth. First, young people are typically more innovative and open-minded than older generations. They're also more likely to start their own businesses, which can drive economic growth. Additionally, young people tend to be more educated than older generations, and thus have the skills and knowledge necessary to grow the economy. Finally, young people are generally more optimistic about the future and their ability to make a positive impact, which can lead to greater economic growth.
How can we attract more young talents?
There are many ways to attract youths talents, but we need to be creative and think outside the box to really make an impact. One way to do this is by partnering with local universities and colleges to create internship and apprenticeship programs. This will give students the opportunity to gain real-world experience while also getting a taste of what it’s like to work in their chosen field.
Another way to attract youths talents is by offering competitive salaries and benefits packages. This will show that we are serious about retaining top talent and that we value their skills and contributions. We can also create a mentorship program that pairs experienced employees with newer hires. This will help them learn the ropes and feel supported as they transition into their new roles.
Whatever methods we use to attract young talents, it’s important that we make sure they feel welcome and valued once they join our team. We need to create an environment where they can thrive and reach their full potential. Only then can we hope to see sustained economic growth.
What are the benefits of having a diverse workforce?
A diverse workforce can bring a number of benefits to businesses and organizations. For one, a workforce that includes people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences can offer different perspectives on problems and issues. This can lead to more innovative and effective solutions.
Diversity can also make an organization more attractive to potential customers and clients, who may feel more comfortable doing business with an entity that is reflective of their own community. Additionally, a diverse workforce can help an organization tap into new markets and reach new audiences.
Finally, research has shown that diversity can improve organizational performance. One study found that companies with Diversity training programs had 28% lower staff turnover rates than those without such programs. A separate study found that racially diverse teams were 35% more likely to outperform homogeneous teams.
Clearly, there are many reasons why businesses should strive for a more diverse workforce. By doing so, they can improve their chances of success in today’s increasingly globalized and competitive marketplace.
The current situation of young talents in different fields
There is no doubt that our economy today is in need of a boost. One of the best ways to achieve this is through the promotion and development of young talent across all fields.
Currently, there are many young people who are working hard to make a difference and contribute to their chosen field. However, they often face difficulties in terms of getting recognition and opportunities to showcase their skills. This is because they are competing against established professionals who have more experience and connections.
One way to level the playing field is by providing platforms for youths talents to shine. This can be done through competitions, scholarships, or mentorship programs. By doing so, we can encourage more young people to excel in their chosen field and help them reach their full potential. In turn, this will lead to economic growth as these young talents contribute their skills and knowledge to different industries.
The advantages and disadvantages of having many youths talents in a country
There are both advantages and disadvantages to having a large population of young people in a country. On the plus side, young people are typically full of energy and creativity, which can lead to innovations and economic growth. They are also more likely to take risks, which can pay off in terms of new businesses and opportunities. On the downside, young people can also be impulsive and reckless, which can lead to economic instability. They may also be inexperienced and lack the skills necessary to navigate a complex economy.
There are both advantages and disadvantages to having a large number of young talents in a country. On the one hand, young people are often full of energy and ideas, and can be a driving force for economic growth. They are also more likely to take risks, which can lead to new businesses and innovations. On the other hand, there is a risk that the talents of young people will be wasted if they are not given the opportunity to develop their skills. There is also the potential for conflict between different groups of young people, who may compete for jobs or resources.
The possible problems that may arise from an increase in the number of young talents
With an increase in the number of young talents, there may be a few possible problems that could arise. One potential problem is that young people may become over-confident and start to take risks that they wouldn't have otherwise taken. This could lead to some bad decision making and could ultimately jeopardize their future success. Another problem that could arise is that young people may become too focused on their talents and not on other important aspects of their lives. This could lead to them becoming one-dimensional and not able to cope with setbacks or failures.
As the world progresses, more and more young people are showing immense talents in all sorts of fields. This is undoubtedly a good thing for the advancement of humanity. However, there are also some potential problems that could arise from an increase in the number of young talents.
One of the main problems is that the competition between these young talents could become extremely fierce. With so many talented people vying for the same jobs or opportunities, it could create an environment of cut-throat competition. This could lead to a lot of stress and anxiety for those involved, and could even lead to depression or other mental health problems.
Another problem that could arise is that the pressure to succeed could become too much for some young people to handle. With everyone around them seemingly achieving great things, some may feel like they have to match up to those standards. This pressure could lead to them making rash decisions, or taking dangerous risks, in order to try and achieve their goals.
So while an increase in the number of young talents is generally a good thing, there are also some potential problems that could arise from it. It's important to be aware of these potential problems so that we can try to mitigate them as much as possible.
The impact of young talents on economic growth
There is no denying that youths talents are one of the key drivers of economic growth. Their creativity and energy are crucial in developing new products, services, and processes that can help businesses to stay competitive and drive economic growth.
There is a lot of evidence to support the role of youths talents in driving economic growth. For instance, a study by the Kauffman Foundation found that startups founded by people aged 20 to 34 accounted for nearly all of the net job creation in the United States between 1980 and 2005.
In addition, research has shown that firms that invest in attracting and retaining youths talents tend to be more productive and innovative. A study by the Boston Consulting Group, for instance, found that companies with a higher proportion of millennials (born between 1981 and 1996) in their workforce outperformed those with a lower proportion of millennials by as much as 30%.
So it is clear that youths talents can have a big impact on economic growth. But what are some specific ways in which they can contribute?
One way is through their ability to come up with new ideas. Young people tend to be more open-minded than older people and are therefore more likely to have breakthrough ideas that can lead to new products, services,

Case Studies of Countries that have benefited from Investing in Young Talents
It is no secret that investing in young people is essential for any country's future. A large and educated workforce is necessary for continued economic growth, and this can only be achieved by investing in the young people of today.
There are many examples of countries that have reaped the benefits of investing in their youths. One such example is South Korea. After the Korean War, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world. However, the government made a concerted effort to invest in education and provide opportunities for their young people. As a result, South Korea has become one of the most prosperous nations in Asia.
Another example is Singapore. Like South Korea, Singapore was also very poor after World War II. However, the government again made a strong investment in education and providing opportunities for young people. Today, Singapore is one of the richest countries in the world.
These are just two examples of how important it is for countries to invest in their youth. There are many other examples out there, but it is clear that without this investment, economic growth will stall and eventually reverse.
The Future of Investing in Young Talents
There is no question that our economy is shifting, and with this shift comes new opportunities for those who are willing to invest in youths talents. All over the world, there are young people with fresh ideas and the drive to change the status quo. They are the future of our economy, and investing in them now will only lead to greater growth in the years to come.
So, what does this future hold for investors? For starters, we can expect to see more opportunities for impactful investments. This means that not only will there be more chances to invest in companies and projects that are making a difference, but also that there will be more ways to measure the impact of these investments. Additionally, we can expect to see a continued focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors as investors seek out companies and projects that are aligned with their values.
Of course, no investment is without risk. But by diversifying one's portfolio across different youths talents and sectors, investors can mitigate some of this risk while still positioning themselves for long-term success.
So if you're looking to make a difference and grow your wealth at the same time, investing in youths talents is a great place to start. With
Conclusion
The youths talents in all fields are the future of our economy. By investing in them, we are investing in our own future. These young people have the potential to create new businesses, come up with innovative solutions to problems, and generate jobs for others. We need to nurture and support them so that they can reach their full potential and help our economy grow.
There is no doubt that young talents are essential for any country's economic growth. They bring new ideas, creativity and energy to the workforce, which can help to drive businesses forward. By investing in young people and supporting their development, countries can ensure that they have a strong pipeline of talent to draw upon in the future.

I see a lot of people say they don't want Joker to be important in The Batman sequels, that they're sick of Joker, etc. but is it just me or do people kind of overstate how ubiquitous Joker is in Batman adaptions? He appears in most of them yeah but that's to be expected when he's Batman's archnemesis. There are some where he doesn't show up, or if he does, isn't necessarily the main/only focus of the villains. The only time I can think of where it got egregious was in the Arkham games, but even then other villains still got a good deal of attention. Or do most of the people making these complaints just not like Joker in general?
Mm, no, I would agree Joker isn't as ubiquitous as he's made out to be in Batman media. However, I do agree with the complaints regarding him to an extent. I'd say it's less about how often he shows up and more about how he does it. Him showing up frequently should be a consequence of him being crucially important. Whether people like it or not, Joker is essential to Batman, that's impossible to dispute -- as you said, he's Batman's archnemesis. But there is a difference between writing a good Joker story and just... sticking Joker in one because he's a popular, titular character.
For instance, in the current Batman run they had Joker be the one who hired Deathstroke to kill Robin way back in the day, and I rolled my eyes so hard. They shove Joker in whenever they're in need of a Plot Twist (aha, it was Joker all along!) or when they have something horrible happen, because of course Joker would do that, he's deranged! Even if the act itself is not in character for Joker. He's come to be used as a plot device when writers don't know what villain to pull out of the hat, and it wouldn't annoy me as much if it were well-written. But instead of trying to fit the story within Joker's core characterization, his personality tends to get rewritten a lot, in order for the writer to tell the story they want. That's how you get... one-dimensional, shallow, typical serial killer and not-actually-funny Joker. So I get how this might make people feel Joker shows up too much, because a lot of the time he's not showing up in the right way, and it becomes grating. I love Joker, but even I am torn between watching his character get skewered vs. not reading about him at all.
Plus, something to keep in mind is the fact that a lot more people watch movies, and not nearly as much read comics. For many fans, the contact they've had with Joker has been through live-action films, and The Dark Knight (2008) especially. Ledger's iconic performance forever influenced what came after. Every attempt at playing Joker since then has had elements from it, and this after Joker got turned into a mascot for dudebros who watched TDK and thought "I'm an agent of chaos" is all there was to him. So many people associate Joker with this "We live in a society" kind of message now -- which Joker (2019) played into heavily, creating a completely different version of him -- when Joker in the comics is so much more than that. It's actually baffling to me how Joker, such a heavily queer-coded character (even within TDK) came to represent toxic masculinity for a lot of people. This, I would say, is another big reason why Joker has become so hated. People have heard of Joker inspiring a shooter to go into a theater and unload a gun into the audience, they've heard about Leto sending dead rats to his colleagues, they've seen all the toxic mysoginist 'alpha' males with Joker posters in their room, and they've landed on this horrid image of him. Which does annoy me to no end, because that's not who Joker is. Joker isn't about wanton destruction, the same way Batman isn't about mindless vengeance. But that's an essay for another day.
Also... it's become a bit of a trend in the last five years, especially on Tumblr and Twitter; to complain about Joker's every appearance, to wish for Batman to kill him or for Joker to disappear entirely, etc. Obviously not saying there aren't people who genuinely dislike Joker (and that's their prerogative), but there's a bit of a 'getting woke points' aspect to this more recent wave of hatred, which has become more prevalent right now for villains in general. Hating on Joker is an easy way to show your moral superiority -- after all, he did so many horrible things. And it's tough to even introduce nuance in a discussion about Joker with people like this, who only view the world in black and white, because they do not seek to understand. The goal, conscious or not, is more the performance a 'pure' moral stance so that they feel good about themselves, and so others flock to agree with them (which in turn makes the commentators feel good about themselves, and on it goes).
Sorry, anon, this got way longer than I expected :)) In the end, this Joker fatigue many DC fans are having right now is influenced by many factors, and it’s such a pity. When done right, Joker can be an absolute delight.

MBTI Observations eight years later.
I saw your answer about INFJs and I recalled other things I've noticed about the types that might surprise people who are just learning mbti.
Mod: Since you asked if I agree with your descriptions, I'll answer as I go.
1. INFPs despite having Fi as a dominant function which makes their feelings run deeper than people could imagine and makes them passionate lovers .. it's not unusual for them to be clueless in love because of their inferior Te. They don't know how to communicate it in the real world and in the 'dating scene'. Imagine a woman who is an incredible cook, but has no idea the ins and outs of making something out of her skill outside of her kitchen even though other people want her skills (inferior Te). Often times INFPs need a more 'take control' and 'doer' personality in their partners. (no wonder I've seen a number of INFP - ESTJ couples in my life :>)
I've never seen an INFP/ESTJ pairing in real life because the heavy-handed nature of Te-dom tends to make IFPs feel insecure about not accomplishing enough, being pushed to be practical instead of live according to their feelings, etc. But yes, they can be socially awkward in a relationship, especially since their focus is primarily on how they feel and what they think about things, rather than being fully tuned into their partner's needs (social instincts have a lot to do with it, along with their Enneagram type). It's hard for them to put their feelings into words, so they may not communicate their feelings "enough" for Fe-using types who don't understand that the IFP being there FOR you / choosing YOU is evidence of their attachment.
2. In my experience, INFJs are one of the coldest and calculated personalities I've interacted with. Their main focus and priority is their end goal, not people. In fact, Ni is what they live for, without it they start having an existential crisis. In order to maintain a clear pathway to their end goal, they will toss people aside if it felt necessary. The end justifies the means seems to be Ni slogan. They're also among the personalities that shift and change easily around people if it served a purpose and it really took me by surprise at times.
I think they can seem stark if they are a hexad Enneagram type (direct, final in their evaluations, and brutal in their assessments of others' character), but otherwise... no. This sounds like an evaluation of a 3-core INJ in particular, the emphasis on goals, end results, brushing people aside, personal transformation to achieve an end. I have only known one INFJ well -- she was a hexad type of some sort (core type unknown) and her brutal, blunt, final evaluation of people and things was somewhat off-putting for me, as an "open-minded" Ne-dom; she gave no one the benefit of the doubt, but that would not have been the case if she were a 9w1, etc.
3. ExxJs feel just as much out of place and have the 'I don't belong anywhere syndrome' as IxxPs. Trust me on this one! IxxPs feel this way because they know themselves and are lost in their own subjectivity that rarely fits with others, while ExxJs feel this way because of their insecurity regarding not knowing themselves and the constant fear of being excluded if they showed a part of them that people haven't seen before.
This one is 100% accurate.
4. Take ENTPs away from an audience and separate them from their performative nature and talk to them heart to heart, and you might see someone who cares enough to try and understand. They can be more genuine than Fe doms when listening to someone's life story despite struggling to process the person's emotions.
Yes.
5. Being with ENFPs long-term frustrates a lot of people who initially saw the ENFP as this out of book kind of character.  Part of this frustration is that ENFPs do not care long-term about things. Their short attention spans applies to everything, not just interests. On people, problems, situations, thoughts, opinions, and beliefs. They don't have a solid ground to stand on and though that very trait might've been exciting for people at first, it can tire them eventually and they start feeling differently about the ENFPs. Online I've seen over the years an overwhelming amount of posts of ENFPs who stopped taking people's interest in them seriously because they know what's coming.
Ouch. But yes, it's true... we lose interest in things quickly if they are not constantly evolving. It doesn't mean we will abandon things (some of us will) or be rude, but it's hard to keep our interest. From an ENFP's point of view, also, "narrow-minded" people are hard to deal with -- other types that seem to prematurely judge things without considering them, for example, get on our nerves, because we're all about expansion and exploration at the cost of "solid ground." So we can both annoy people, and be annoyed by people that differ in this regard.

Character Design of Latinos
by a Latina who is tired of y'all not doing your research.
—————
First of all, please keep in mind that I don't speak for anyone but myself. You should never stop at just one source of information, and I would honestly really advise you to listen to other Latinos —especially other Latinos of color— to hear their thoughts and perspectives as well. And second, please remember that Latino is not a race! I can't believe I even have to say this, but the term refers to anyone who is from Latin American or who has Latin American heritage or descent and should never be referenced as a race. Alright, now that that's out of the way, let's dive right into it!
—————
People don't seem to realize that Latinos can come in all shapes, colors and sizes. People like Sofia Vergara and Michael Peña shouldn't be your only source of reference when trying to figure out what you want your character to look like. As I mentioned here, Latinos are diverse not just in our cultures but also in our appearances and, contrary to popular belief, we're not a monolith of people that all look alike. Latin Americans, just like every other ethnic group, have an incredible amount of genetic diversity.
Don't believe me? Just look at all these people:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, what do they have in common? They're all Latinos. See how they all have different skin tones, facial structures, hair textures and body types? Yeah, they don't look the same to me.
A character's design can reflect their personality and give the audience a good idea of who they are as people. And just as whatever languages a Latino does or doesn't know shouldn't invalidate their identity, neither should their appearance.
The thing about character design when it comes to marginalized groups is that it goes hand-in-hand with all the stereotypes that are constantly perpetuated.
Why are Afro-Latinos only portrayed as maids, nannies or drug dealers? Why are the Latinos that look like Michael Peña portrayed as violent or lazy? Why are they always the comedic relief, immigrants or people with a lower-class status? Why are the Latinas that look like Sofia Vergara and JLo portrayed as spicy and exotic mistresses? I mean, we obviously know why, but I'm just saying, if that's what you think all Latinos are like then you are in desperate need of a wake up call.
There's this huge misunderstanding of the Latino identity. The misconception that we all have the same tanned skin tone, the same facial structures, body types, hair textures, personalities, etc. when that's...really not the case. Society has taught a lot of people that if our appearances don't fit in with this unrealistic ideal they have of us, our identities are therefore invalidated. And this misconception causes Black, Indigenous and Mixed Latinos to be underrepresented or entirely dismissed in media and society in general more often than not.
I want to add that while white Latinos' identities do get invalidated from time to time as well —I say this because one of my best friends is a white Latino but since he's, well, white, some people don't seem to believe him and just seem to think that he's joking—, it's not nearly to the same extent as the types of Latinos that I mentioned beforehand do. White Latinos still hold a lot of privilege in society despite this.
Also just an important note that you should keep in mind and take into consideration: just because a Latino is white doesn't mean that they don't or can't have features that are more frequently associated with their ethnicity.
It's alright to portray light-skinned Latinos. Like I said, we're very diverse. But you have to question your reason for making the character have that skin color. Remember, you are the creator. You're the one in control of all these decisions and if all of your characters are portrayed as light-skinned people then you really have to take a step back and reevaluate your decisions because that right there sounds a lot like colorism.
When you say you want more Latino representation, you should be referring to all kinds of Latinos. You shouldn't just mean the ones that you and the rest of society consider acceptable. And no, it's not exactly your responsibility to create diverse characters, but if you're preaching about diversity and sitting on your high horse then I sure do hope that you're willing to actually do something about it. Performative activism is harmful and, at the end of the day, does absolutely nothing if you're not willing to put the work into it.
Additionally, don't be afraid of implementing aspects of their culture into their design. Let them be proud of their culture, let them engage in it. However! Please don't take this as an excuse to center their entire personality around their culture. You may think you're doing something when, really, you aren't. You're just feeding into all the harmful stereotypes and not making any actual effort to add real depth to your character (looking at all the people that make celebrating Día de los Muertos, eating tacos, and liking "Gasolina" and "Despacito" their character's only defining personality traits).
Personally, I would love to see more of the following:
• A thin-lipped and curly-haired Latina.
• A Latino with freckles. This one may seem strange but most of the time I just see Latinos with moles, not that there's anything wrong with that (I have a lot of them myself), but it'd be nice to see some variation.
• For a Latina to be considered beautiful without being fetishized and objectified.
• A Latino who doesn't fit the "sexy macho" stereotype to be considered desirable.
• More LGBTQ+ Latinos, especially ones who are POC.
• Black, Indigenous, Asian and Mixed Latinos.
• Disabled Latinos.
• Jewish Latinos.
• Muslim Latinos.
• Latinos with different body types.
• Soft-spoken Latinos.
• Successful Latinos who are well-off.
• Latinos who are allowed to be emotionally vulnerable.
• Latinos with complex storylines and realistic flaws.
• Latinos at the center of the story instead of just existing in the background for the sake of "diversity".
• Just more positive and diverse representation overall.
There's not enough positive portrayals out there of us, and it's exhausting having to sit back and watch as my people get portrayed so negatively. Am I saying that there's no good representation out there for us? No, there absolutely is good representation (ex. In The Heights, On My Block, One Day at a Time, Coco, Miles Morales, Luz Noceda from The Owl House, the Molina family from Julie and the Phantoms, etc.), but that doesn't take away from the fact that a lot of the representation that we have throughout all types of media is, for a lack of better word, bad.
And you can't just say, "Oh, but at least you have representation, can't you be at least a little grateful? Why are you complaining so much?" because you don't get to decide what people are and aren't allowed to be upset about. Despite the positive representation that exists out there, it tends to be overshadowed seeing as a lot of people still view us through this negative lense that they've consistently been told to believe is true when it's really not.
All types of Latinos deserve to be represented in a positive light. So make sure the character you're portraying feels like an actual person as opposed to an offensive one-dimensional caricature because sometimes having bad representation is worse than having no representation at all.

Yugiri's smile is everything. She has so many of them and they all mean different things. When she's relaxed, when she's excited, when she's confused, when she has no clue what's going on but everyone else is happy so she's happy, when she's relieved, when she's proud... She has so many different smiles and if Tumblr didn't have the 10 image rules, I would absolutely gush about every single one of them in detail. Unfortunately, if I do that, all of those posts will probably be eaten out of the tag, so instead, here are my top 10 favorite Yugiri smiles so far, images included. (Pre-Revenge episode 9)
10. Season One, Episode 2: The First Smile/ 9. Season One, Episode 10: The Sentimental Smile
Tumblr media
Episode 2 is the first time we ever see Yugiri smile. Before this, she seemed relatively nonplussed or generally disinterested in pretty much everything going on. Even though she was in a different time period with complete strangers and a madman demanding her to be something she has no knowledge of, she was fairly calm. Then the first time we see her smile, it's when she sees something completely familiar. Her own face. Not only that, but she directs that smile toward the character that is going to become basically her little sister. The first one means so much and it's so important.
Within the same vein, her smile to Kotaro in episode 10 is one during an emotionally heavy moment. It's the first time he's hit an actual snag in his plans. Sakura's singular focus on the Arpino show rather than on the bigger picture of the group as a whole would have been a massive roadblock had she not realized her mistake.
Yugiri is the only one who properly realizes the reason they were sent into the mountains in the first place. Instead of simply sitting on the information, she's proactive about it and actually goes to discuss the problem with Kotaro. She wants to understand his reasoning so that she might be able to help him. And when she turns toward him, she also gives him the observations she's witnessed throughout her new life. This smile may be low on my list of favorites, but it's still unbelievably important.
...Also, when they released the preview image of this smile, my brain short-circuited for ten minutes, so it had to make it onto the list regardless.
8. Season Two, Episode One: The Professional Smile
Tumblr media
This smile isn't much out of the ordinary for what we've come to expect of Yugiri, but it's on here because this was our first look at Yugiri after basically two years of very little. None of us knew how the group would come back, how the writing team had incorporated the unexpected pandemic, how things would play out, or what would be happening. The Promo showed Tae's hand flying off to knock off Sakura's head, but as 2018 displayed, the promos can't always be trusted. This showed that, even in this new world where she's only been awake for a year, she's putting her skills to use and working just as hard as the others. Thanks to the conversation from Episode 10 of the first season, we know she was trained as a geisha which would make service work much easier than it would be for the other girls.
I don't have too much to say on this one, to be honest. I do like that she's in softer lighting, as opposed to the others who were all surrounded by harsh lighting on their season two introductions. The softer lighting lends itself well to the lack of pigment and coloration in the girls' makeup, allowing Yugiri to look like she has some color, even if she still looks somewhat pale and tired. It doesn't give her quite the same sickly look the others have at their jobs. The red dress? 100/10. Perfect decision.
7. Season One, Episode Five: The Proud Smile
Tumblr media
SHE. DOES. GYMNASTICS. She has every right to this smile! I did the math for this specific part of the episode and Yugiri got third place. The judges liked her rope aerobics so much, they shot her all the way to third place even though her distance was zero meters. It wouldn't have gotten her interviewed, but it would have at least put Franchouchou at the forefront. I still applaud Tae snagging first place, but Yugiri deserves some praise. She really did go face first into the mud on a bike and said, "Never again." She's so proud of herself. I'll be gushing about the actual gymnastics part in a different post a little later, too, but she definitely deserves to be proud of herself. I'm really gay...
6. Season One, Episode Four: The Cute Smile
Tumblr media
Originally, this was just going to be me doing some keysmash version of a squeal or something, but there's something I'd like to draw attention to. I'm pretty sure that, by this point, Franchouchou only knows two songs. Yomigaere, which was supposed to be performed in episode 2, and Mezame Returner, which is what's being performed here. Of these two, Yugiri has more experience with this one, but from what the audience had been shown, it wasn't good experience.
Memorizing the lyrics would have been the easy part for her. It's that a good portion of the dance practice was also spent helping Lily get the steps down and potentially calming her frustrations. Then the performance itself would have been a complete disaster if Junko and Ai hadn't gotten over themselves at the last minute to finally help.
This is the first successful performance of Mezame Returner we're witnessing and it's clear the group's had more practice since then. You can see how excited and happy Yugiri is here because this one is actually going well. They had a bit more time to prepare, the two lead roles were actually involved this time, and the audience also was clearly enjoying the performance. She's so happy and it's just so heart-warming to see. Yes, even with the CGI. Don't @ me, she looks adorable.
5. Season One, Episode Seven: The Sassy Smile
Tumblr media
This one also was just going to be a squealing keysmash thing, but again, I have something to point out. Look how much more confident she is now that Junko and Ai have, once again, gotten over themselves. Yugiri sees the effect that Junko stepping in had on the others and just like the rest of the group, her movements are more relaxed and free.
It's more obvious, actually, if you look at the way the other girls are moving directly after Junko helps Ai up in comparison to how Yugiri is moving. She did a spin while waiting for Sakura and Lily to finish their segment, and she could be cheeky during her own. She sensed that the tension had mostly dissolved and because of that, she allowed herself to relax and could properly throw herself into the performance. When she throws out this smile and wink, it's not actually directed at the audience. It's Yugiri telling the others that they've got this without breaking the performance.
4. Season Two, Episode Four: The Gentle Smiles
Tumblr media
I put both of these here because Yugiri's just... so... caring? So much of what she does is passive that you don't realize just how much work she puts into relieving the stress from the other girls until long after the problem has been resolved.
In the first, she's speaking to Sakura. No doubt, Yugiri probably noticed how worried Sakura was about Junko. Even though Sakura was trying not to let the others catch on just how anxious she really was, Yugiri still knew that something was bothering Sakura as well as Junko. Yugiri knew that the key to easing Junko's mind lay in placating Sakura first. She's seen what happens to them all when they fall apart and she wants to avoid that at all costs. So, Yugiri lifts Sakura's spirits and gives her back the fire and determination to make a great performance.
In the second, Yugiri is watching Junko eat. Unlike the others, it's clear Yugiri knows that Junko is in much higher spirits than when last they saw her. Junko would likely have still been a stuttering, quivering mess otherwise, but she wasn't stuttering and her actions were purposeful and self-assured. Yugiri is very observant. She would have caught on that something had happened to make Junko feel better. What makes this smile even better is that she's not the least bit disappointed. The reason she made dinner was to help Junko, but she doesn't view the meal as a waste of time. She's so focused on other people, that she's happy Junko is feeling better at all and even offers her different platters to help keep her mood up.
These are high on the list for two reasons. One, they're a show of just how much Yugiri does for her girls. Two, YUGIRI COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS HEADCANON CONFIRMED BITCHEEEESSS!!! I GOT ONE RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!
3. Season Two, Episode Six: The Affectionate Smile
Tumblr media
I will be completely honest, I have no idea why this one is as high as it is. I admit, I did spend three hours replaying this single thirty second scene because it's really sweet and Yugiri and Tae don't interact very often, so seeing Yugiri not only be worried for Tae, but also be immediately reassured that Tae would be fine was just something my heart didn't know it needed until it had it. The sheer level of affection Yugiri shows toward Tae is too adorable. Especially since Yugiri usually only has moments like those with Sakura and, to a lesser extent, Lily. This smile's really cute, it's in the middle of a wholesome scene, and it made me love both Yugiri and Tae that much more.
2. Season One, Episode Three: The Excited Smile
Tumblr media
Once again, an entry that was going to be a simple squealing keysmash until I realized there was something to point out here as well. This is the first smile we ever see from Yugiri that's genuinely enthusiastic. She has plenty of them, especially during her performances, but this is our first time seeing her fully incorporate herself into the group as an actual member and actually look excited to do something with the others. This was an omen of adorable things to come and damn did it deliver.
Honorable Mentions.
I'm only going to touch on each of these briefly because to be honest, there are a LOT of smiles I could've picked.
Tumblr media
The first one is from episode 6 when the group is talking about their very first meet-and-greet. Lily asks Yugiri if she's keeping up okay, and Yugiri remarks that she's taking things as they come. This was a small look into the kind of character she is. As I mentioned before, she's very passive in the way she operates, but that's to the benefit of those she cares for. This is her admitting that she doesn't want to be a problem and it's just sweet that even though Lily is worried about her, Yugiri's still highkey thinking about everyone else.
To the right is a shot of Yugiri during Electric Returner. This one is just the squealing keysmash because she looks so genuinely ecstatic, it's contagious. She's NO DAMN CLUE what happened or why they sound so different, but she is absolutely living her best second life.
The next shot comes from the beginning of Yomigaere and is somewhat of a repeat of the above. She's excited to perform for such a big crowd, she's glad Sakura finally agreed to actually participate, and she's living her best second life. Whoever animates Yugiri's CG model? I love you. I want to send you a gift basket. She's always so happy during performances.
Then comes her smile after the group finds out Sakura's memories are back. She's just glad Sakura, her Sakura, has come back to them, that she accepts her crap luck and is still willing to stay. For Yugiri, this goes under the list of Best Possible Outcomes. Her family is whole again and she's so relieved.
Last in the top row is the first full frontal shot we get of Yugiri in the Saga Jihen music video. She's so unbelievably adorable here. I wish I could've gotten her first expression, but the curtain was still rising and without photoshop, I'm not editing an image to the degree needed to get her whole face lightened. Point is, she's cute and everyone deserves to see her adorable face on the first song she got to be center for.
First on the bottom row is Yugiri looking apologetic from episode 8 of Revenge. She's so cute. It was an honest mistake and she had no way of knowing the paper belonged to Kiichi. No doubt, that was probably why she offered to help him rewrite them later.
Next is how cute she looks in big sister mode. She's wiping the mud from Kiichi's cheeks and is taking such care with him. Throughout the entire episode, she treats him like a little kid and it's likely because her role was big sister for so long that she doesn't know how not to treat him that way. It really does shed light on just how kind she is to everyone, though, that she doesn't even think about her dirty kimono and focuses on cleaning him up a little first.
Then we have her smiling at Kiichi as she remarks on how beautiful his dream of reviving Saga is. She even says she hopes it comes true. His dream means something to her. She can't even fully see it, he can't even fully see it, but they don't need to. What Itou didn't understand this whole time is something Yugiri understood immediately just from listening to Kiichi talk. They don't need to see it in their minds, all they need is to feel it in their hearts, and that's something Yugiri knows.
And lastly on the honorable mentions, because this post is already super long, Yugiri smiling while she's cooking for her guests. It was a tossup between this or the pinwheel because it's just really nice that Yugiri can simply enjoy mundane things. I chose this one because it's a direct contrast to how she was at the beginning. Before, she ate with a disinterested expression, but now, she's cooking for guests rather than just for herself. The lift in her mood is obvious, and it's something so small but so heartwarming, I couldn't resist.
I would've put the pinwheel moment anyway, but unfortunately, as a com major, formatting and design are everything and an extra picture on the top or bottom without a balancer would've thrown the whole thing off. Maybe next time.
NOW FOR NUMBER ONE
1. Season Two, Episode Eight: The Softest Smile
Tumblr media
This should have been expected. There's something genuinely touching about the fact that Yugiri really does give her everything, even to complete strangers. These girls barely know her, everyone in town barely knows her, but because her dance students suggested Yugiri go out and actually experience, Yugiri gives it actual thought. She doesn't dismiss them, she doesn't deride them, she doesn't make them feel foolish or anything like that. She treats their suggestion the same way she would if it had come from a close friend. And she does actually take them up on it.
Later, we see her come into contact with Kiichi to demonstrate that even full-on strangers aren't exempt from her kind heart, but this means more. All we know is that these girls take Yugiri's dance class, and from the way they speak when we first meet them, it's clear Yugiri has a professional wall between herself and those she instructs. But she still treats them as she would the girls back in Shimabara. It's proof that, even in the past, Yugiri really was just as kind-hearted as in the present. It's a show don't tell kind of thing that just speaks so deeply to the writer in me. I love this smile. It's everything. Her smiles are everything. She's everything.

Pairing : Moon Junhui x reader
Type : Soulmate au, idol au
Genre : fluff
Warnings : none
Word count : 2-3k approx
Soulmate au type : In which the first words your soulmate says to you are written on your body.
Tumblr media
Jun heard Seungkwan and Jeonghan snicker from behind him when he was wearing his shirt for the upcoming stage performance.
He turn around but glared at them through the mirror and proceeded to wear his outfit. The two just laughed at him more before waving themselves off towards the other members.
Jun sighed as he looked at himself through the mirror and then towards the one sentence which was tattooed near his navel, he huffed shaking his head, was it necessary for his soulmate's first words for being so sarcastic?
He wondered what he was going to say or do for his soulmate to get that sentence/accusion tattooed on his stomach.
But he didn't mind much since it was ultimately said by his soulmate but he often wondered what on earth he was going to do to get that sentence out of you.
He even dated multiple times thinking that his soulmate was someone close to him cause who in the hell gets this comfortable to roast someone on their first meeting?
"You guys are up in 10 minutes so gather up backstage."
The manager yelled from the door. They did the head count before finally making their way out of the waiting room towards the backstage.
They stood up before the monitor placed backstage for monitoring the stage performance going onstage live.
"Woah my best friend is doing great." exclaimed Seungkwan gaining Jun's attention along with other's too.
"Your best friend?"
Jun asked as he put his hand on the younger's shoulder eyeing up the idol group which was currently performing on stage.
"Kind of. It's like an inside joke between us but they are really nice and witty and we get along really well. I met them on the set of Mafia in prison and we have been in contact since then."
Seungkwan explained after which everyone started paying attention to their own thing with few of the members enjoying the stage.
Jun shook his head as he started fixing his microphone, getting ready since they were up next to your group which was performing currently on the stage.
He really envied how friendly and outgoing some of his members were like Seungkwan and Mingyu. They literally had friends everywhere and knew many people.
Jun wished he wasn't so shy so he could also make many more new friends.
He gets awkward and he know it will take some more time to get comfortable around to socialise with everyone else.
The performance ended as he heard audience clap and cheer loudly followed by lots of gasps.
He got pushed to one side of the backstage when 4 of the crew members ran past him carrying some one in their arms.
He hissed at the sensation but didn't feel the anger as it was an emergency but he really lost a bit of his temper when another person bumped into him twice the force earlier and to add to that he was shoved towards the wall making him collide with the wall too.
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️
You were exhausted from your performance breathing uneven as you posed as the ending fairy for today's performance.
It felt really good to be performing again after your debut showcase, it was your first comeback and you were thankful for the amount of support your group got dispite coming from a rather small company.
Through your peripheral vision you could see the youngest of your group losing their balance as they started leaning toward the opposite direction.
You held their arms quickly and they managed to keep the balance but ended up losing consciousness and putting all of the weight on you.
You quickly caught them before losing your balance and placed th on the ground as other members started asking for help from the backstage crew.
The crew came not long after and carried them out of the stage and towards the emergency room where the treatment of minor injuries was done during the performance.
You ran behind them in hopes to stay with them as long as you could. You were worried from the morning as they looked comparatively pale.
You did give some medicine mixed inside their drink but you figured it wasn't enough or they simply didn't drink it.
You collided rather strongly with someone when you were on your last step on the stairs to go to the backstage, you didn't even dare to apologize or say a word as you pushed the person aside and ran as fast as you could towards your member.
Your were anxious as they had never lose consciousness like today as your other members were also running behind the crew.
You excused yourself mumbling sorry towards the other artist who were backstage as you kept colliding with them.
Backstage was always packed with little to no space as there were so many idols solo/group who were waiting for their turn, not everyone get to have a chance of having the waiting room all to themselves since there weren't much rooms so when you were done with your makeup and styling you get lead outside backstage to wait up for your performance.
You never really saw it as a hassle, it hadn't been much time since you debuted therefore you didn't realize how frustrating backstage was untill some inconvenience like this happened.
▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️▫️
"Hyung, let's go to the emergency room to check if your arm is alright."
They were all currently huddled inside the waiting room after their stage performance ended and Jun realized that his arm which collided with the wall is a bit sore due to the impact.
"Seungkwan take him to the emergency room."
Seungkwan immediately pulled Jun up after Seungcheol told him to take him to the emergency room and both the boys made their way towards the room while the rest stayed behind doing their own things.
They reached the emergency room, the nurse helped Jun with his arms and put a bandage on it.
"Seungkwan?" both the boys turned towards you when they heard your voice, you were carrying two bottles of water in each hands. You bowed in their direction, when the nurse finished dressing his sore arm both of them made their way towards where you stood.
"How's your group member?"
"They're fine."
"What exactly happened to them though I met them yesterday they were fine."
Jun stood there quietly listening to both of you, his awkwardness kicking in as he didn't know what to say. Seungkwan wasn't even introducing him to you neither he was acknowledging his presence so he just stood there a bit far watching you two talk.
"They said that they were sad because yesterday after talking with you they bumped into someone and that person said sorry and you know their soulmark is really common one so they misunderstood that stranger as their soulmate, which happenes almost all the time and they were so disheartened they didn't take their medicine nor eat anything so they fainted."
Seungkwan and your group was really close and therefore you could tell anything to him so you didn't mind telling him that.
"Oh is that so? That's sad. My Hyung here as the same soulmark as your member, 'first word written on the part of their body' one and although Hyung has been in many relationships before he still couldn't find his soulmate."
Jun eyebrows furrowed when he heard Seungkwan say his name and glare at him making you laugh loudly. Jun's expression completely changed when he looked at you, his heart skipping a bit at how beautiful you looked while laughing heartily.
"Some people dated once and found their soulmate, then there's you doing audition."
You stopped laughing as you looked at their expression feeling like you crossed your limits and offended him.
"I'm sorry." you quickly bowed towards him and the only thing Jun could mutter in utter embarrassment after hearing you say those words was.
"I didn't even audition for my company."
You felt a tingling feeling in your right shoulder as you heard him say. Yours, Jun and Seungkwan's eyes widened as soon as those words were said. Both the boys stood there in front of you shocked.
Seungkwan knew what his Hyung's mark said, he never ever asked about yours but the expression you both had gave it away that both of you were indeed soulmate. Seungkwan chuckled gaining both of yours attention and broke your staring contest with Jun.
"Yah, get out." Jun kicked Seungkwan out of the room and locked the door behind so the younger wouldn't come and disturb again.
You heart beat increased as he slowly made his way towards you, he was suddenly full of confidence with zero awkwardness with a hint of mischief in his eyes.
The duality this man held was really something out of this world.
He stopped when he was close enough to you, you put your head down unable to keep up with his intense look. The atmosphere suddenly went from soft to hot in no time.
You gulped when he hooked his index finger below your chin and made you face him. He leaned down placing a sweet and soft kiss on your lips.
He broke the kiss and you still stood there, eyes still close as you breathed his scent. He smiled when you finally locked eyes with him again and put his hand on your shoulder to play with your hair.
"I really thought I would say something cool to you as my first word but my thoughts got jumbled up when I looked into your eyes but I had to make up for it."
You laughed ruffling his hair and he looked at you endearingly.
"I'm sorry, for breaking your arm."
"I would have slammed myself on the wall hundereds of times if I knew it would lead me to you."
A blush crept up your cheeks as you push him away laughing at his cheesy self but you won't mind hearing his cheesy lines for lifetime.

"Baby, I want to cherish our warmth, So no one can come between us, Tell me, you’re mine, I’m in you squirming inside, I’m suddenly afraid, What do I do? Without you my heart has no home, I’ve kept my insides empty for you."

- We don't often see our own stories. Good artists are the ones that whisper our own stories back to us.
- Music is about all of your senses, not just hearing.
