What is cue the sun? 👀
I need you to know I am kissing you on the mouth rn (platonically) -- I've been rotating this plot in the microwave since like. mid-august.
It's transcendence au (obvi) but here's the basic hook:
The year is 7098. The last Mizar (Fang Wu -- and shoutout to aba_daba_do for making a kickass OC) has been dead for four years now, and Alcor has been MIA for about the same amount of time. In their absence, the North American continent has broken out into a full-on, cross-continental war, with the main players being the Greater Austinian Monopoly (formerly known as Texas) and the Alaskadian Collective (Alaska, plus some parts of Canada and north-eastern Russia).
In a last-ditch effort to find some long-forgotten piece of magical information that could win the war, Alaskadian scientist Fatima Tursynbekova (an r!Ford) is sent to the abandoned site of what used to be Gravity Falls, accompanied by her troubled teenage daughter Olya (an r!Gideon). They're expecting to find little more than scant remnants of a town that was razed to the ground over thirty years before -- not much better than an archaeological expedition if anything.
However, what they find instead is a thriving small town -- the inhabitants of which are all completely and utterly convinced that it's the year 2016 (feat. the OG Mystery Twins and an extremely sus Stan Pines).
Anyways blah blah blah romance, secrecy, interpersonal drama but COME LOOK AT THE MAP I MADE I spent entirely too much time on it and I've been dying to share:
(Plus better quality image link for if tumblr steals all my pixels)

it is so refreshing to see ppl be like normal and regular about other artists taking heavy inspiration 😐 way too many ppl start screaming and crying over it for some reason /gen
i understand why some people might! especially depending on visibility and audience, and level of heavy inspiration.
i know there was a point where ppl thought i was copying a popular artists character and i got so scared solely bc i feared people coming after me.
but i also understand bc I myself have taken heavy inspiration from others before, and also because I myself am not somebody who Sticks (or Stuck bc i dont do heavy focused style inspo stuff anymore, because, surprise! i grew and frankensteined it into my own work after i learned what i like!) with an emulated art style for long
(see: my post where I struggle naming inspirations bc my inspirations arent...extremely, consistently, visibly, immediately influential on my work.)
i like giving ppl the benefit of the doubt for that reason... I now also understand and recommend naming/mentioning the ppl who inspired you when you do so as it immediately sets that level of understanding! (like oh, its a style study/inspiration and not somebody plucking my hard work and planning to cause a scene abt it)
like even recently that person who was copying my art down to the ideas (literally redrew a personal smunker doodle comic about smthng that actually happened to me, as their sona), i decided not to intervene because well, they're young, not harming anyone or screwing me out of anything, there's a chance they learn what they need from my stuff and move on in a few months. that's how you Learn sometimes...i did the same when i was in high school, i grew and moved on art wise... no good would have come out of someone attacking me about it bc its... common !
i do like seeing how ppl are interpreted and inspired by my stuff because im curious, and have enjoyed what ive seen mentioning me directly ^_^ but ill still say the only mistake made in this specific case was getting caught ykwim? "do what you want but dont let me see it" (except i do wanna see it ykwim)

Fairytale! I think that could be fun as either being set in a fairytale or maybe someone isn’t feeling well so one of the others tells them stories to feel better.
Prince Sky sighed to himself and let his head fall forwards to rest against the door. His hand was on the knob, but he couldn't bring himself to open the door.
Knock knock
Sky gasped and stumbled backwards.
"My prince?"
"Yeah," Sky said, clearing his throat. "Come in, Wars."
Sir Warriors opened the door and quickly pushed it shut behind him. He looked at Sky, then his face slid into a sly grin.
"Were you-"
"Don't worry about it," Sky interrupted, smoothing down his clothes.
Warriors shook his head with a smile, which Sky returned.
"Are you ready, your highness?" Warriors asked.
"Again, Wars, Sky is fine. I'm as ready as I'll ever be, I suppose," Sky said.
"Is something wrong?" Warriors asked.
"Sun and Groose are taking the horses out today. I just... would much rather be out with Aepon. Instead I'm stuck in knighting ceremonies all day," Sky said.
Warriors bit his lip and glanced to the side. Sky's back straightened, intruiged. Warriors would never show so much expression in front of others, but was lucky enough to know his friend's tells.
"What? Is there going to be drama? Something interesting?" Sky asked.
"No one's supposed to know, but... the Oracle predicted that the next Hero is in the castle today," Warriors said.
Sky gasped. "The Hero... here? Today? Does my father know?"
Warriors nodded. "His Majesty is prepared. The Oracle will be in the ceremonies today to find the Hero."
Sky clasped his hands together and bounced with glee. He had to get all his feelings out before the ceremony, where he had to play the part of a perfect Prince in front of the Royal Court.
"This means we could finally put an end to the Warlock! Oh, I can't wait! The people could know peace again!" Sky said.
Warriors smiled, and gave Sky a look he couldn't quite decipher.
"What?" Sky asked.
Warriors' smile grew. "You're a good Prince. You'll make a fine king, one day."
Sky blushed madly, and cleared his throat. "Um. Thank you, Wars. Let's go."

Here's a little snippet from my Hollowridge worldbuilding doc btw :)
The fact that it has a new world designation before it's re-awoken means people KNOW of him still, meaning that even 500 years later he hasn't been forgotten about even if the mental image of him has changed due to word of mouth tales and knowledge eroding.
He was enough of a calamity to be remembered as a cautionary tale and it makes the fact that knife wakes him on purpose have so so so much more gravitas. she genuinely makes a horrifying decision.
