BOYCOTT BBC
loona is 12. bbcs words against chuu are defamation and slanderous. BBC is the abuser. NOT chuu. it was NEVER chuu. kim jiwoo has been at the hands of their abuse since she was SIXTEEN.
BOYCOTTING BBC INCLUDES BOYCOTTING LOONA CONTENT. heres how to boycott:
- avoid streaming music videos / songs on ANY platform (spotify, apple music, youtube, etc.)
- delete superstar loona
- do not buy ANY merchandise
i also strongly reccomend doing this for other BBC artists to avoid giving BBC ANY support.
CHUUJUSTICE on TWITTER is a team of Orbits hoping to start a boycott of BBC in protest of the wrongful removal of Chuu.
A COMPREHENSIVE LIST OF HOW BBC ABUSE LOONA & THEIR STAFF + PROOF
thank you to sirenyves for this compilation.
BBC has underpaid their staffs, starved their artists, overworked everyone, etc. for a company that "cares" about their staffs state and wants to prevent them from being abused, they sure seem to be keen on being the abuser.
BBC CLAIMING CHUU IS ABUSIVE HAS BEEN CONTERCLAIMED BY MANY PEOPLE. here are some accounts from people who have worked with chuu, and their support for her.
1. FORMER CHUU CAN DO IT WRITER + ANOTHER
2. ANON ON DCINSIDE
3. PHOTOGRAPHER WHO WORKED WITH LOONA
4. ANON JOBKOREA EMPLOYEE
and finally; PLEASE SUPPORT CHUU.
as stated by hyunjin on fab:
"Chuu unnie's heart is probably hurting more than anyone's right now. Please root for & love her lots.."
chuu is suffering the most. please give her the love, support, and courage she needs.

everybody who is searching rick and morty for retroactive validation that justin roiland is a domestic abuser should be lightly dusted in flour and left out in the rain. i think that the proof that he’s a domestic abuser is the domestic abuse that he did and not that there were edgy jokes in his lame cartoon. tbqh.

Where do I even begin? I have yet to watch the full BBC exclusive report/documentary on the Burning Sun scandal -and I will make time for it soon, but I wanted to share some highlights because it's important to talk about. Here is link for those interested in tuning in.
⚠️TW for sexual violence (there are graphic details in the below posts I attached as well), assault, abuse, exploitation, mentions of miscarriage⚠️
youtube
I wanted to say, first and foremost that Goo Hara, the South Korean singer/artist of popular kpop group KARA, responsible for bringing forth evidence to help these journalists unveil these hideous and violent crimes against women -I hope you will always be remembered as a brilliantly talented and beautiful human being who was always courageous/brave -and who sought to expose the evil men involved in these sex crimes.
Goo Hara, who was a victim of blackmail -of revenge pornography by a previous partner back in 2019 and for those who aren't aware this shit excuse of a man who did this to her only served a year in prison. I hope people continue to remember her not just as an 'idol,' but as a fighter/someone who care deeply about those around her and for justice for all the women exploited, abused, and violated by the Korean celebrities involved in Burning Sun.
To those Korean idols, actors, and any man in a position of power and privilege involved in Burning Sun -which includes Seungri of prolific kpop group BIGBANG, Jung Joon Young (a popular actor/singer and radio host), and ALL those part of the Kakao group chat: former member of popular kpop group BEAST [now known as Highlight) Yong Jun Hyung [who is also dating Hyuna, disgustingly so], Lee Jong-hyun of CNBLUE (a well-known Korean rock band), Choi Jong-hoon of FT Island (another well-known Korean rock band), as well as popular Korean singers Roy Kim and Eddy Kim. I hope ya'll rot.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I sincerely hope real systemic changes are made and the people involved in heinous violent sexual violence crimes are held accountable. My solidarity is ALWAYS with victims/survivors of violence.
I also wanted to take a moment to also remind folks who love kpop to always be critical of/not disillusioned by the idols you love. Anyone can be violently misogynistic, racist, ableist, a rapist or rape apologist. And yes, I know there are exceptions -I have seen a handful of artists I believe are genuine, but even then I just don't know because we don't know them personally.
I think it's important not to forget that there are RAMPANT systemic injustices that many women in South Korea face (for instance, harsher sentences are given to people who are caught smoking weed compared to men accused of rape) and that the Burning Sun scandal is one of many that the public may or may not know about because of how insidious the kpop industry is, just like any music industry in the world.

kitty is so cool. part of it is rooted in denial and buried trauma, of course, but the fact that she's able to see the good in life and appreciate her existence despite being bullied and abused by someone she loved and trusted so wholly is amazing. she's able to connect with people in her special, whole-hearted way despite having been damaged so badly as a result of it, once. casting her as cinderella, a strong woman who remains sane and in love with the world despite horrendous abuse, in the play was perfect - she is a disney princess, and i want to see her interact with that ghost pigeon. not to mention how she discards the ridiculous values of her era and is able to enjoy sensual media and claim her autonomy. the character of all time i love her so much she is so so awesome.

The Lying Detective, self hatred and acceptance of abuse
There's something I need to let out of my chest about Sherlock and this episode in particular, cause it's the one that really opened my eyes about something very important regarding Sherlock: he hates himself. He really does, and because he hates himself he believes he deserves all the abuse he gets from the persons he loves.
At some point he says he believed he thought he was an idiot, because Mycroft kept repeating he was the smartest one when they were younger. That was until he met "ordinary people" and realized he was actually, you know, very smart compared to others. And yet, he kept believing that Mycroft was way above him in terms of intelligence. He accepted it, and because he accepted it he trusted him to know what was better for him. And Mycroft, in return, felt entitled to let him believe that Redbeard was a dog and not his childhood friend, and to hide him that he had a sister, who was also a murderer, who had let said friend rot in a well. He felt he had to do it because he didn't trust Sherlock to handle the truth. He thought he was what? too stupid to understand? Too sensitive?
Now don't get me wrong, I love Mycroft as a character, and I know that he did all that "for Sherlock's good", but at the end of the day, lying, manipulate a child's memory and repeating him all the time that he's stupid was textbook abuse. And Sherlock wouldn't have accepted to be called stupid, and would have probably seen that Mycroft wasn't THAT intelligent if he wasn't so deep in self-loathing. But then how was he supposed to love himself if he was always treated like the "slow one" of the family by his own big brother?
When Molly slapped him not once, but THREE TIMES, because he was high, again he didn't flinch, didn't protest. It's not an attack against Molly, I understand why she was upset at the sight of the man she loved destroying himself, but my point is: he could have considered that it wasn't her business, he could have told her to stop. But again, if someone he respects like Molly believes he deserves to be slapped, then he does.
Now John. Sorry guys, that's the hard part I have to say out loud. John was an excellent friend up until a certain time, no argument. One could even argue, and be right, that Sherlock was the abusive one for a while: he treated him like an idiot -but then Sherlock thinks everyone's an idiot except for Mycroft, ruined his first date, unintentionnally (or not) ruined several of his relationships by being obnoxious around his girlfriends, played dead for two years instead of confiding in him like any good friend would do, made him believe they would both die only to hear him say good things about him, I mean... Sherlock's definitely not an angel and for quite a long time, he was rather a shitty friend too. I guess growing up without friends, not even your own sibling will do that to you, but it's an explanation, not an excuse for being an asshole to everyone.
And yet John accepted him as he was, and always forgave him, so of course Sherlock came to idealize him like he idealized Mycroft, for different reasons of course. For the record, I love Sherlock and John's relationship/friendship/bromance/romance/whatever it is. Up until TLD at least I found it... precious. Yes Sherlock was an ass, more than once, but he acknowledged it, and showed he wanted to be better: he not only apologized, but he also grew to become a better person, someone who would be worth of John's affection.
What happened in The Lying Detective, though... what the hell happened? So John was sad because he lost Mary. Understandable. Even if popular theories like to claim he never loved her, his despair and the fact that he keeps her ghost with him all the time said it loud and clear: John loved Mary, very much indeed. And he was mad at Sherlock who he considered responsible for Mary's death. It was also understandable, if Sherlock hadn't shut his big mouth, yada yada... Ah I love to see a a female character fridged so two male characters can suffer and grow thanks to her sacrifice . But then what we know... happened, Sherlock was high as a kite, to the point he was very close to losing it completely he lost it completely, he took a scalpel and John, well, stopped him. But then John lashed on him. He BEAT HIM UP LIKE A PULP, which was at this point completely unjustifiable because Sherlock was no longer a threat, and he would have maybe killed him in his effort if two male nurses hadn't stopped him. But this post isn't about John and his disturbing lust for violence, not really. It's about Sherlock.
What Sherlock did? Nothing. Not one time did he try to defend himself. He took all the hits, didn't ask John to stop, just once again... Accepted. He accepted that he deserved John's violence, even said John was entitled to do that because he had "killed his wife". And Joh doubled down, "yes you killed my wife". But HE knew it wasn't true. Sherlock didn't, though. He was sick because he felt as if he had killed Mary herself, and that's why he was so adamant to grant her her last wish. As someone who hated myself for a long time, I totally recognized the impulse to take the blame for everything bad that happens. That's what Sherlock does, all the damn time.
Violence between men is often glossed over because the old say "boys will be boys". After all it wasn't the first time that John beat Sherlock up, he had done it after Sherlock came back from the dead but it was just for laughs and giggles then, "haha so funny John assaulted him three times, look his noise's bleeding, lol", and also the audience thought that Sherlock deserved it after all, so... it was fine, sort of. Notice that there too, Sherlock didn't try to fight back and didn't ask John to stop. Like, I still don't undrstand why John punched him the last time: because he told him he missed the thrill of the chase? What was wrong in saying that? Except that it was probably true? I'm personally never comfortable with the normalization of violence between men on TV especially when only one is actually fighting the other, but that's just me I guess.
In TLD it was very different. It wasn't funny, and it was certainly not ok. And I was very upset when at the end, not only John didn't apologize to his best friend for physically abusing him, but Sherlock was the one comforting him at the end. The man had almost been murdered by a serial killer, before that his second role model beat him like a pulp for a crime he didn't commit, and he was still the one being strong for John.
I have a big problem with the way this matter was handled, because John's violence was just.... forgotten. And if it had been the only time that he had expressed his anger against Sherlock with his fists, I'd agree it was just a bad moment in their relationship even though he'd still need to apologize for making it ok. But here there's nothing that tells Sherlock that John won't do it again; nothing that guarantees that the next time Sherlock will upset him, John won't lash out on him again, and it will be acceptable because for some reason, violence against a man is somehow ok.
The idea is, I suppose, that there's no power imbalance like there is between a man a woman. If Sherlock wanted to fight John he probably could easily win, he's strong and has enough fighting skills for that. That's not the problem. There IS a power imbalance in that Sherlock will always believe that John is entitled to be mad at him, thus to beat him up if he wants. And since John apparently never apologized for assaulting Sherlock, I have no idea if he realized how wrong it was, and if he intends to change. I don't know about you, but personally I thought texting a woman in secret from his wife wasn't a big deal compared to what he did to Sherlock, and yet that was the only thing that, apparently, John felt guilty of.
Sherlock really broke my heart when he told John that by saving his life, Mary had given it a value. Which meant, basically that before Mary's sacrifice, his life had no value whatsoever, at least in his eyes. Let that sink in for a minute.
"The Lying Detective" is a very fitting name for this episode and for Sherlock in general, because Sherlock doesn't just lie about being almost killed by Culverton Smith, he constantly lies to himself.
He did it when he claimed he fell back into his drug habits "for a case" -if he wanted to attract the press/Magnussen's attention on him there was a lot of things he could have done, he did it all his life about being devoid of feelings and emotions, did it about the reason why he literally offered his life to Culverton; yeah he wanted to "save John Watson" and honor Mary, but it was also about ending his own suffering, a result he hoped to get at best by catching Culverton Smith, at worst by dying.
No wonder why when Eurus challenged him to choose between John and Mycroft, he chose to kill himself. That's actually strange that she didn't see it coming. Probably she didn't know him as much as she thought. He made that choice because he thought he was the one deserving to die. Not Mycroft, not John, not even Eurus... Of course it was also a calculated risk, as he had understood at this point that he was the only one Eurus wanted to keep alive because everything she did was about him for some reason. But I truly believe he would have rather pulled the trigger and shot himself rather than killing Mycroft or John. I saw once someone claim that Mycroft knew Sherlock would choose to save John anyway and that's why he wanted to make things easier, but I think nothing's further for the truth. Sherlock would have never chosen. It would have always been him.

"Coward!"
Merlin felt more than heard his own breath stutter. The ground before him seemed to stutter with it.
He stepped forward anyway.
"Face me!"
The ground blurred more, swathed in rain drops that did not fall in Avalon.
Nor on the pathway out of it.
The unsettled magic crackled along Merlin's skin, dragging like Ealdor's burrs, dried crisp in the fall.
Avalon clawed at Arthur, but Merlin, as always, knew there was no better shield than himself.
Merlin forced a breath and another step forward.
"So much for bravery and honor."
A bitter laugh from behind him.
"Just another hypocrite and liar."
The otherworldly tethers snapped and scraped against his body, Avalon's appetite for Arthur turned on Merlin instead.
Avalon cannot take an immortal life.
Find your king and shield him.
Return, but rest assured, should your eyes turn to him, then Avalon's shall as well, and it shall hide his soul where you will not find it.
"You-you, coward!"
One chance, young warlock.
Merlin closed his eyes entirely. He did not need sight to lead Arthur away from Avalon's grasp. He shuddered as the otherworld's magic skittered with barbed hooks across Merlin's own.
A huff now, and Merlin wished how Merlin wished that he could just- just fix it. Make it so Arthur had never died, so Merlin had never lied.
Merlin had no doubt he would die for Arthur in any universe, even in the universes where Arthur had known him completely, and in the ones where Arthur hadn't known him at all. Any of those would have been better for Arthur, better than meeting the shade of a person Arthur now knew Merlin to be.
But Merlin had only this universe, this one and the shitty, shaky premise that Merlin could drag his king out of Avalon and then rest in his hatred forever.
"You can't face me."
Merlin stumbled.
Avalon dug into his back.
His breath caught. He lurched upward and forward.
"Merlin!"
Merlin tightened his jaw, like Arthur, the masochist in him said.
He briefly thought of explaining, of begging for Arthur to trust him one final time, of turning to him and-
and that was exactly why he couldn't.
"No place for magic in Camelot indeed."
Arthur's words scorched. Every step away burned as the pyre.
Nothing Merlin hadn't been through before.
Merlin didn't actually know why Arthur was still following him to be honest. He just hoped Arthur didn't stop.
"Were you ever planning on telling me?"
Merlin itched to cover his ears and hum, like Arthur had done once to him one particularly wine-filled, loose-lipped evening. His hands even twitched with the desire, but if he could not hear Arthur's hatred, then he would not hear Arthur at all, and that he could bear even less.
Avalon's pull was lessening, its weakening magic lashing all the more fiercely for it. Merlin clenched his hands, himself the only solid ground in the transient in-between.
Merlin heard a whimper and, for a moment, didn't believe it came from himself. Avalon's tendrils clung, tight as nooses, around his limbs. He almost raised an arm to pry them off.
"Merlin?"
His voice had grown closer.
Arthur had come closer.
The tendrils started breaking away, one at a time, and Merlin felt each one snap. His own magic buzzed and swarmed ever more greatly, eager to wash away the lingering traces of the otherworld. On instinct, on habit, it stretched behind him - to Arthur, as always.
Then Merlin remembered Avalon felt his magic as surely as he did its. He yanked his magic back, drawing it up into himself before it brought Arthur to Avalon's attention.
"Merlin."
The last tether to the otherworld snapped, and Merlin-
Merlin lurched forward again.
And again.
And then one more time, just to be safe. He could no longer feel Avalon, he couldn't, but he felt as though its presence was still bearing down upon him.
The darkness spun. His knees slammed into smooth, unbroken stones. The shore.
He brought his hands to his face. His knuckles rubbed against his shut eyes, and he could hear the waves. He could hear the waves.
They had left Avalon.
He couldn't hear Arthur, not over his own shuddering breaths. The rocks pressed against his knees, worse than castle stone. They had left Avalon, so Arthur was behind him. Arthur was behind him, and they had left Avalon.
Merlin still couldn't turn around.
If he didn't turn around, then Merlin would not have to see the disgust in his eyes.
A hand on his shoulder.
"Merlin."
The hand curled, an anchor that pulled back, and Merlin found himself leaning towards it - and hating the action.
Arthur wanted answers though, and it was the least Merlin could give.
Another shuddering breath, a steadying breath, Merlin told himself. He sat back on his heels more, though he had not realized until that moment that he was sitting at all. He lowered his hands. His eyes stayed shut.
"You are free of Avalon." His voice rasped as roughened parchment and sand. "You will not return there until you die again."
The hand on his shoulder tightened.
"And you?" Arthur's voice was clear. Clear and angry. "Are you to leave Avalon as well?"
Something in Merlin shriveled, curling in on itself. Merlin hunched his shoulders inward, downward, as much as he could with the hand still gripping his shoulder.
"Yes." His tongue was heavy in his mouth. "Your safety would have been assured, but they would not take a trade."
Arthur's grip was strong enough to bruise.
"You were going to give your life for mine."
"Yes." Merlin lowered his head more. "They would not take it.
"I'm sorry."
Arthur dropped to the ground. He wrapped his other arm below Merlin's, across his chest, and Merlin-Merlin could not help but think that this was almost precisely how he had held Arthur less than a day, an eternity ago.
"Y-you . . ." Arthur's voice shook.
"Coward. I know." Merlin choked out the words. Then he was gasping. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Arthur, I'm so sorry. Arthur . . ."
Arthur pressed closer, his arms cinching Merlin in the way Avalon could not. "Stop. Stop!"
Merlin shut his mouth so fast his teeth clacked.
"Did I ask you to give up your life?"
Merlin's response was automatic. "You don't have to ask."
Arthur shifted his arms, settling them more firmly across Merlin's body and marginally more tightly.
"Well, don't. You don't trade your life for mine. Not now, not ever."
"It wouldn't have effected you," Merlin only half heard his own voice speaking. "My life still would have worked. Like anyone else's."
Arthur was alive and right there. Arthur was right there.
"It . . . wouldn't have effected me?"
Merlin twitched in the facsimile of shaking his head.
"In what universe," Arthur hissed in his ear, "does your death not effect me?"
Merlin did flinch this time and felt Arthur's response of tightening his hold yet again. Arthur still did not know, then, that Merlin could never run from him.
It had taken everything just to walk away and that was when he knew he'd see- that Arthur would be there at the end.
"I'm sorry." Merlin tried to swallow, but his mouth was too dry. "I swear I asked them to take my life for yours."
Arthur grunted. "You thick-headed idiot. I'm saying you shouldn't have even tried to trade your life for mine."
"Your life is worth ten of mine, and I needed to bring you back, Arthur."
Arthur's huff lifted the hair around Merlin's.
Gods. He was so alive.
"We'll return to that first remark later, but Camelot was strong when I died. Guinevere is a good queen. She has many good advisors and" - Arthur shook Merlin once - "she was supposed to have you."
Merlin struggled to find words. "What about . . . an heir? You needed an heir."
Arthur rested his forehead on the side of Merlin's own. "Morgause said a life for a life."
Merlin's breath caught.
"I do not think more time will make a difference," Arthur finished quietly.
"Oh, Arthur." Merlin reached up and clasped Arthur's hands.
"You don't get to trade your life for mine, too. Do you hear me? That's an order, Merlin." Another shake.
Merlin shifted, feeling Arthur move with him. "I don't understand."
"That's nothing new."
"I can't- I didn't think- are you going to kill me?"
"No!"
Merlin flinched again. "Then why did you not want me to trade my life for yours?"
Arthur tightened his hold. A disgusted sigh. "You-"
"I know." Merlin didn't know if he could bear to hear the words, however true, again. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
"You clearly don't know." Arthur snapped. Then his hold loosened.
Merlin realized he was shaking.
"Merlin . . ." Arthur pressed his knee against Merlin's side. "Merlin, I want you to live. You should want to live."
"But I'm a sorcerer."
Merlin nearly opened his eyes at the sound Arthur made. He stopped though, and reached with magic instead, searching for whatever remaining injury may have caused Arthur pain.
"Merlin." Arthur's breath was warm against Merlin's skin. Alive. "You're . . . Don't interrupt. I'm not done."
Merlin had not even tried speaking.
"I . . . I told you not to change."
Merlin his head forward, but only slightly. "When you were dying."
Arthur huffed a laugh, and Merlin- Merlin, glutton for punishment, turned towards the sound.
Arthur sighed. "Open your eyes."
Merlin shut them more tightly.
Another huff of laughter from Arthur.
"Merlin. Open your eyes."
Merlin heard his own disbelieving breath.
Arthur shifted, as if he wanted to come closer, but Merlin did not know how closer would be possible. All he could feel was the rocky ground and Arthur.
"I stand by what I said" - Arthur's tone brokered no argument - "and I'm not dying, am I?"
Slowly, Merlin shook his head.
"Then open your eyes."
He couldn't.
Not right away.
He inched his hands along Arthur's till he felt Arthur's wrist. He turned his head until he felt Arthur's shirt. He opened his eyes, but not to look at Arthur, just Arthur's shirt. Arthur had died in armor, but the shirt was his favorite, softened red one that Merlin swore he had to throw away years ago after an injury and blood made it unable to be salvaged.
Merlin saw Arthur's shirt and then- then . . .
"Not so bad, is it?"
"Looking at your ugly mug is."
A bark of laughter and then Arthur was grasping the back of Merlin's head and Arthur was pulling Merlin in closer and Arthur was holding Merlin and Arthur was alive.
He was alive.
They were alive.
And maybe, Merlin thought, just maybe, this universe wasn't the worst one.
