Sorry! I know it’s been a while since I released a new chapter of this one but things have been crazy over here! I failed my first attempt at my drivers licence, had a rental inspection coming up and work being terrible. But things are looking up now, less stress means more fanfic so here we go. Hope you like this one! <3

From Dusk Till Dawn

Chapter Four

(A Xabrielle Uber fanfic)

Xena was shocked, to say the least. But she was also extremely impressed. Gabrielles bravery and cleverness had astounded her and Xena knew right than and there that Gabrielle was quite literally made for Xena.

She was the strongest women she had ever met and Xena would be damned if she didn’t do her best to become someone she loved.

With pride swelling in her chest as the diner erupted in applause for the two women’s bravery, Xena grinned across the room at Gabrielle who gave a shy smile back and shrugged.

Xena broke herself out of her trance to dig her radio out of her pocket and report the incident. After that it wasn’t long before two cops arrived and greeted Xena, she got to work briefing them about what had happened and wished them a good night as they went about their business. Xena couldn’t help but to notice that whilst she had been talking to her colleagues, that Gabrielle seamed more nervous than usual.

After the cops had left the restaurant Xena walked back up to the women who was sitting on a chair sipping the tea the restaurant had given her, in exchange for her bravery.

“You alright their?”

Gabrielles body jumped as she looked up at her, which made Xena even more concerned.

“I’m sorry, you must have been scared of that guy. I promise we’re all safe now.”

Gabrielle gave Xena a weak smile.

“Oh, yeah that’s ok. I wasn’t scared of him.” Xena raised a brow.

“You sure didn’t seam it at the time, but is something else wrong? You just… Seam a little spooked now.”

Xena probed as she gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind Gabrielles ear.

“I guess you can read me pretty well huh? And you don’t even really know me yet.”

Xena reached up to gently tuck another loose strand of hair away as she smiled at the woman who had already captured her heart.

“I don’t need to know you completely in order to see that something is wrong. So, what’s up?” She pressed.

“To be honest… I was just a little worried that I might get in trouble for.. you know, hitting that guy on the head with the bottle.”

Xena frowned.

“But it was self defence, you won’t get in trouble for that.” She pointed out.

Gabrielle fidgeted in her seat.

“Thats-that’s not always the case Xena. Their are a lot of people out their who get unjustly blamed for things that aren’t their fault and the people who are meant to help them…. they sometimes hurt them instead.”

Xena raised a brow.

“Well, I’m a cop too you know? And I can promise you that I wouldn’t ever let that happen.”

Gabrielle sighed and gave her a gentle smile. “I know. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to offend you it’s just- I’ve got a past, you know?” She replied.

Xena hummed in agreement.

“I can relate to that. And there’s no need to be sorry, I understand. But maybe I can help show you that not all cops are bad?”

Gabrielle looked down as she tried to hide her smile.

“I’d really like that.”

Xena gently lifted up her chin.

“Than so it shall be.”

The two of them got lost in each others eyes for a moment before their trance was broken up by the people at the restaurant pulling them away to thank and congratulate them on their bravery.

Eventually, when they where able to get away from the diner, Xena had dropped Gabrielle off at her home, and being a gentle woman herself had wished her goodnight rather than hinting at joining her. She wanted her to know that she was serious after all.

But they had already made plans for a second date, and Xena was beside herself with excitement. She had to make sure that for their next outing, she had something special planned. Something that would sweep the powerful woman off her feet.

But what would Gabrielle like the most? Xena wasn’t sure, but she knew whatever she decided upon, had to be perfect.

From dusk to dawn Chapter Three (updated version)

(A Xabrielle Uber fanfic)

After Xena had dropped Gabrielle off at her flat in the northern side of the city she had gotten back to her patrol but the whole time she couldn’t seam to take her mind off of the girl who had agreed to see her again.

She wasn’t usually such a mushy person, and usually when she would take an interest in someone she wasn’t looking for anything long term. But there was something about Gabrielle that made her want something more, something that lasted.

Xena tried to stop thinking about her, she really did, but not even catching some bad guys and having a few brawls could take her mind off of the beautiful Gabrielle. She had it bad. But somehow, she couldn’t bring herself to be annoyed about that fact.

It was the next Monday morning when Xena had finally decide to text Gabrielle with the number she had given her. She had grabbed her morning coffee at the Morning Dew Coffee shop and was worried when she hadn’t seen the women training on the beach like usual. She had planned to go up and say hi, and maybe even attempt to organise a date. But when she hadn’t shown up Xena had decided to check on her and make sure that she was ok.

“Hi Gabrielle, it’s Xena here…how are you? Feeling better? I was actually wondering if you’d like to grab a coffee with me some time?”

Xena had re-written the message about a billion times before she had sent it off, and when she didn’t get an immediate reply she panicked.

‘What if she’s not even into girls? What if she has a boyfriend? Maybe she was just being friendly before and I read to much Into it….’

But the sound of a notification arriving on her phone snapped Xena out of her thoughts.

“Hi Xena! Good to hear from you. I’m good thank you, feeling a lot better now thanks to you. how are you though? I would love to grab a coffee with you, would you be free tonight? If you want you could pick me up after karate class and we could go grab something?”

Xenia’s smile could have lit a thousand rooms.

“I’m great thanks, and glad your feeling better now. When does your class finish up?”

Gabrielle replied almost instantly.

“I finish up around six if you wanted to come around than. The hall is on the corner of Alkine street in Halesbury.”

Xena didn’t waste time in replying either.

“Sounds great, see you than!”

Xena couldn’t help but to feel elated for the rest of the day, and when her colleagues had asked her what was with all her smiling, she would simply shrug it off and smile even more.

Later on when she arrived at the address Gabrielle had given her she tried to make sure that she looked ok, but she hadn’t had time to go home and change first so she was feeling a little self conscious in her uniform… but she took a deep breath all the same and quietly entered the building.

As soon as she had walked into the entrance she could hear giggling and music playing from the hall. She peaked around the corner to see Gabrielle dressed in Yoga pants and a sports bra, teaching karate to five adorable little girls.

She watched, smiling as Gabrielle finished up and waved the girls goodbye. But when one of the girls walked up to her Gabrielle bent down so that she could talk to her at her level.

“Gabrielle I’m so bad at kicking. What if I never get good at it?” She asked, looking as if she was about to cry. Xena wasn’t too sure what to do in that sort of situation so she hoped that Gabrielle would have it handled and thankfully she did.

“Kiriana this was just your first class! And from what I can tell you’ve already picked up a lot just from the first lesson. I’m sure that with more practice you will just keep getting better and better at it, what do you say we work on it together?”

The girl wiped at her sniffly nose and shrugged.

“But I fell.” She added

“You know Kiriana I fall all the time when I dance, even the most practiced dancers do.”

“Really?” She asked, eyes wide with hope.

“I promise. Now hurry along, your mother’s waiting for you.” She reassured.

“Ok thank you Gabrielle!” The girl said as she happily skipped off to her mother who lead her out of the hall.

“Hey.” Xena said as she walked up to Gabrielle.

“Hey yourself.” She replied with a grin.

“Your really good with kids huh?” Xena asked and Gabrielle blushed.

“Not really, I just love kids. Especially babies they are soooo cute!”

Xena couldn’t help but to think that babies where not anywhere near as cute Gabrielle was, but she couldn’t bring herself to say that out loud.

“So…did you wanna grab something to eat?” She awkwardly asked.

Gabrielle gave a small smile and nodded in response.

“Sure.” She said.

“Theirs a great diner I know just up the road if you wanna try that?”

“Sounds great. After you.” Xena replied as she followed Gabrielle out of the hall.

When they had ordered their food at the diner, Xena had quickly realised that Gabrielle sure did love her food. And that was great because so did Xena. The only difference was that Gabrielle ate her food slowly, to ‘savour it’ she had claimed to which Xena had laughed and said that she would gladly take any leftovers. Gabrielle pouted at that and slid her bowel of mash potatoes and steamed vegetables closer towards her, as if she wear trying to protect them.

“Alright, alright. I won’t steal your food.” She surrendered.

The two of them got to know each other better that night. Xena had learned that Gabrielle was a very creative person, she was a free spirit who loved to write, dance and practice her karate.

Gabrielle had learned that Xena loved her job, especially when it came to catching the bad guys and using her…as she called it “many skills.”

Gabrielle had laughed at that and said that they should train together sometime, to which Xena immediately agreed. Neither of them could deny that the thought of training together was pretty hot too, but the red checks that followed those thoughts where quickly chilled by the sudden change in the atmosphere of the diner.

The change in the restaurant was one that happened quickly. It had started with a scream, than with a young man yelling at the employee behind the counter of the dinner, while pointing a gun. Very quickly Xena and Gabrielle had realised what was going on.

This was an armed robbery and Xena knew that she would have to move quickly to prevent things from escalating any further and to keep the women she was falling for safe.

Xena didn’t hesitate to take immediate action. She stood up and pointed her gun at the man, and before he could even realise it she alerted him to her presence.

“Looks like you’ve chosen the wrong place at the wrong time.” She said as he turned around to face her, still pointing his gun at the women behind the counter.

“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll put the gun down.”

The man snickered as of Xena had a mused him.

“Why the hell would I take orders from you, your nothing but a pathetic female. Stay out of this and I might consider letting you live.”

Xena raised a brow at the man as she gave him a firm look.

“I’m afraid that I can’t do that.”

She affirmed as she aimed right at the mans head, at that he did look a little shaken, which made Xena smirk.

“Oh believe me, I won’t hesitate to shoot. So if I where you, I’d put the gun down.”

Little did Xena know that the whole time she had been holding a gun to this mans head, Gabrielle had taken the chance to sneak underneath the tables and pop up behind him, as soon as Xena noticed her, holding a glass bottle she had picked up from one of the tables, she stiffened and made sure to keep her expression tight.
