Here's my final #tifa shot from @conography 💖🌟 Moving forward, there's still some alterations I'd like to make on this cosplay, particularly the wig (I'm thinking about removing some wefts - it's way too heavy and gives me a headache!) and the gloves (I'd love to somehow alter some actual MMA gloves). Hey everyone! In celebration of #worldgothday here's a throwback to Anime Blue's Con 2017, where I wore anime's Best™ goth girl, Misa Amane! 💀✒️📖🥀 . Misa-Misa was the first cosplay I ever put together, and I wore her to my first anime convention (MTAC 2011) when I was only 16 years old. I thought her character was adorable, and tragic, and I absolutely loved her goth style and bubbly personality when I saw her in Death Note, the first anime to really hook me into watching anime. . Over the years, I've changed up her costume some - I've made it look nicer, and though it's still not perfect, I love this cosplay all the same. I've worn this same gothic lolita dress to several cool places where I've had amazing times with friends. Needless to say, I pull my Misa-Misa cosplay out once every couple of years or so. One of these days, I'll finally do her up proper, wig and shinigami eyes and all, and I'll do her justice with an amazing photoshoot 📸 . Misa Amane and Death Note will always have a special place in my little weeb heart. The place where I love black and lace and find death to be... Intriguing. The place where a young teenager couldn't quite figure out who she wanted to be, but could identify with the cute, tragic, sweet goth lady on the screen. Calling all crossplayers and genderbend cosplayers! 📣 I'm so excited to enter @anna.minslow 's crossplay and genderbend contest! Although I'm already looking forward to doing a huge genderbend cosplay next year, and I'd like to do more crossplays eventually, for now I'll be entering my Kenny cosplay! The main attribute that makes this cosplay fun is the costume makeup, which includes liquid latex, fake blood, and a whole lot of bruising/bleeding effect makeup. I also spent quite a bit of time styling this wig just the way I'd like it, and some minor sewing alterations were done to the costume. My body doesn't quite look how I'd like it to, and my cosplay/crafting abilities aren't where I'd like them to be yet, either. But when I transform into confident, strong characters like Gabrielle (or Tifa!), I feel like a badass. I also never realized this incredibly obvious fact about myself: I have a MAJOR thing for strong, beautiful, badass women who are also compassionate, kind, sweet, and tender-hearted. 💖 . I will be alternating between posting our duo photos and my solo Gabrielle photos over the course of this week! . Xena, our resident Warrior Princess, is cosplayed by the beautiful @catiebug8192 and hoo boy, I can't imagine having any other Xena by my side! XD 💖 She is amazing and kawaii af so you guys should definitely go follow her ASAP!! . I cosplayed Gabrielle, the Battling Bard of Potidaea: faithful sidekick to Xena and diligent ass-kicker XD As far as costuming goes, I put quite a lot of work into this one, despite it's simple look. I hammered approximately 32 rivets into my boots, layered an old belt in craft foam and leather before hand-painting the designs, and made major alterations to two different skirts and a top that was, originally, wayyyy too big on me. Finally, I created the staff from scratch (with a little help from the boyfriend!) out of PVC pipe. This was, by far, my favorite part of the build! .
