"Don't judge a scroll by its paper." . Here's another shot from our Xena shoot of me feeling strong, confident, powerful, and cute af as Gabrielle! We all have "defects", and nobody is perfect. My body doesn't quite look how I'd like it to, and my cosplay/crafting abilities aren't where I'd like them to be yet, either. But when I transform into confident, strong characters like Gabrielle (or Tifa!), I feel like a badass. I also never realized this incredibly obvious fact about myself: I have a MAJOR thing for strong, beautiful, badass women who are also compassionate, kind, sweet, and tender-hearted. 💖 . "In a time of ancient gods, warlords, and kings... A land in turmoil cried out for a hero." 🗡️👑 . Hey guys! Check out the first photo from our Xena: Warrior Princess set! I will be alternating between posting our duo photos and my solo Gabrielle photos over the course of this week! . Xena, our resident Warrior Princess, is cosplayed by the beautiful @catiebug8192 and hoo boy, I can't imagine having any other Xena by my side! XD 💖 She is amazing and kawaii af so you guys should definitely go follow her ASAP!! . I cosplayed Gabrielle, the Battling Bard of Potidaea: faithful sidekick to Xena and diligent ass-kicker XD As far as costuming goes, I put quite a lot of work into this one, despite it's simple look. I hammered approximately 32 rivets into my boots, layered an old belt in craft foam and leather before hand-painting the designs, and made major alterations to two different skirts and a top that was, originally, wayyyy too big on me. Finally, I created the staff from scratch (with a little help from the boyfriend!) out of PVC pipe. This was, by far, my favorite part of the build! . What's up #MTAC people! Wow, there's so much to say about this past weekend! Let me just start off by saying that #MTAC18thBattalion was incredible! The con staff and all of the volunteers seemed to have worked EXTRA hard this year to put on the best con they possibly could! With that being said, this con was a big learning experience for me, too. I learned that I need to take better care of myself. I'm getting older and partying 2 nights in a row, getting up early with hangovers, eating less than I should and barely sleeping REALLY took a toll on both my physical and mental health this weekend. I'm still sleeping off everything I did this week! But, besides all that, I had a great time, as always. I got to nerd out with my closest friends, I got professional photos taken of my cosplays (that I worked hard on!), and I pushed through my fears of performing on stage with my friend and we ended up winning Best Duo in the Lip Sync competition! I also got some cool swag from con, took lots of photos, and talked to some lovely people. All in all, it's a weekend I won't forget, and I'm already looking forward to and planning for next year! This week, I'll be spamming lots of shots from con! But for now, have a small spam of some of the hall/courtyard shots people grabbed of me as Gabrielle and @catiebug8192 as Xena!
