A brand new threat

At the Freedom Pal's secret base, the entire team was gathered tonight because of some... accusations.

Dr. Timothy: "{So, I assume that we all know why we all gathered here, correct?}"

The Coon: "Of course we f#cking do! Because that b#tch Kyle is going around giving The Coon a bad name!"

The Human Kite: "Dude! I told you I wasn't even out on a mission last night! I was with Toolshed the entire night!"

Toolshed: "Yeah, they were with me Coon. There is no way they could have been around telling everyone that The Coon sucks. Even if it's kinda true."

Tupperware: "Yeah, unlike Mosquito who was stealing all the tater tots from Raisins!"

Mosquito: "What?! I'd never do that! I much prefer the wings!"

Tupperware: "I saw you! You went straight in, bagged the FROZEN tater tots and flew off!"

Captian Diabetes: "Well, atleast it isn't as bad as Wonder Tweek taking pictures of Human Kite's mom while she slept."

Human Kite: "YOU WHAT?!"

Wonder Tweek: "I DID NOT D-DO THAT! I was with Super Craig at that Italian Restaurant!"

Super Craig: "Yeah, He was with me."

Captain Diabetes: "But that doesn't make sense! I saw you with my own 2 eyes!"

Dr. Timothy: "{That's enough everyone! This is exactly why I called you all in. There seems to be a threat around South Park who can become anyone at any time. It would be the most logical conclusion.}"

Mysterion: "He has a point you guys."

The Coon: "You're the one who can r@pe other people's minds Timothy! How do we know you're not the one behind this?"

Mysterion: "Because I was with him last night f@ta$$!"

Prof. Chaos: "Well, now that you mention it, I did see someone strange around my lair last night."

Mysterion: "You did? Tell us more Professor!"

Prof. Chaos: "You see, I was checking on my minions as they were putting more lava around the lair. I happened to look up and spotted someone lurking from the roof of my lair! I sent my minions to check but they found no-one there! It is quite strange...

Fastpass: "What do we do? This threat could a-any one of us!"

Mysterion: "We'll just have to stick together and catch this threat off guard. For now, everyone head out and search around South Park for anyone suspiscious."

Meanwhile...

A dark figure looms at the roof of the Medicinal Fried Chicken, watching The Freedom Pals from afar while softly chuckling to themselves.

???: "Those Freedom Pals have no clue who they are messing with. But no worries..."

???: "It makes it much more fun~"

Hadrian’s Perfect Fit

Hadrian is ready to look for love again after having his heart broken on Ada's Bachelorette. The 33 year old stylist admits that the Bachelorette was not his finest moment, and has come to accept that he wasn’t being true to himself. Our newest bachelor is bringing a twist to the traditional challenge - Hadrian is bi with a preference for masc partners. So there may be fewer glamorous dresses this season, but Hadrian assures us there will be plenty of romance. The Bachelor and contestants will spend quite a bit of time traveling to exotic locales as Hadrian is looking for someone to go on adventures with.

The show is currently searching for contestants, and will be accepting applications until June 22nd.

Submission Guidelines

YA preferred (for the purpose of this BC that means under 40), Adult submissions will be considered and entered at Hadrian’s discretion

Gay/Bi/Pan/Queer men, nonbinary individuals, and trans masc sims accepted.

Please fill free to give them careers and skills (and cheat them a reasonable amount - don’t max everything). No romantic or unfairly traits please.

Your sim will need an entry introduction and a backstory/profile that gives me more information to go off of. Please feel free to dm me more information if you want there to be surprises or if you just think of something. Sims eliminated from other bcs will be allowed as long as their bio addresses what happened.

This BC is a bit of storytelling and gameplay so decisions will not be made purely from results. Eliminated sims may be used as side characters in potential post bc story (but if you want them back feel free to let me know). Also please let me know on the form if your sim is okay with getting pregnant or getting others pregnant (or neither or both) since mpreg is an option in my saves. I will do my best to properly interpret your sim’s personality, but this is going to be my best guess based on what you give me.

Please provide at least 1 outfit for each category preferably 2-3 for everyday and formal

Maxis Match CC allowed within limits (hair below 7mbs, skin details, tattoos welcome) CC can if be used for the first everyday outfit, but not the rest unless it is repeated (ex. Cc glasses or jewelry from the first outfit can be added to the other outfits since it’s not adding additional files). I have default replacement eyes and about a half dozen Sorbet Remix, Academia, and Jewl eyes so I will be using ones I already have, but I will try to get close if you specify a color. No Alpha cc, sliders, or custom traits (they will show up blank and I will fill them in based on their story).

If you don't mind me asking, what's the theory?

((Ho boy, anon you don't know what you've just unleashed--))

((Okay. Okay, I'll summarize it, but it's major spoilers for the 3.0 Archon Quest!!! For Sumeru's first act!!! You have been warned!!))

((Okay so my theory brain was thinking like "You know, there seems to be a lot of repetition themes going on in Genshin, like the past repeating itself, or implied to repeat itself, or at least has some of those vibes of the past repeating itself" And with how the sky is canonly fake in Teyvet, I've always thought Teyvet was some sort of artificial world that was on repeat. On a loop.))

((Then you get Nahida just, outright saying this nonsense: ))

((I know, I know, she's probably just referring to the dream world that the traveler and everyone else is stuck in being on repeat here, but... but... bear with me... there's more mentions of this concept that seems like she's not just talking about the single day in this endless festival.))

((Everything in this world runs in a loop.))

((Nahida is speaking in cryptic nonsense to most people, but you know what this screams to me? This screams, "I know this world is a false one, and it's in one never ending loop of repeated history."))

((Now, whether this is a true time loop (everything goes back in time and resets at a certain point) or a pseudo time loop (everything feels like it's repeating but time is actually moving forward, it's just our perception of time being reset) is up for debate, but I personally think that with the mention of the God of Time, Istaroth, that the former is more likely.))

((So Genshin has a false sky, and Nahida implies that it's very likely that, like the world of dreams the Sumeru government created to harvest dreams, Teyvet is, itself, a false world on a time loop.))

((So here's where I get more into speculation than theorizing based off of canon evidence--I think that Paimon and Venti, who have connections to the God of Time (maybe being Shades?) have something to do with this endless loop. Venti less so, for I think that Venti has the ability to remember things from previous loops, like how Traveler had in the Archon Quest. Venti always seems to know what to say and when to say it, except for... odd instances where he does seem taken aback and surprised. A few people theorized that since he is related tot he God of Time, that he can see into the future--but if that's the case, why does he get surprised at all?))

((My theory here is instead this--Venti has memories of previous loops, so he knows all of the songs of the past, present, and future, and certain core events that he's come to expect and memorize--but there are new instances that he doesn't expect, or never encountered, or doesn't remember encountering.))

((One behavior of Venti's that is, largely, overlooked imo is this one line in his story quest that, when you combine it with Nahida's words, suddenly becomes quite a troubling statement.))

(("Let's meet at the usual place."))

((This line alone means absolutely nothing out of context--but when you remember where this supposed usual place is, you'll star to see the bigger issue if you remember the answer.))

((Venti is saying the "usual place to meet" is at the Statue of himself--the large one in front of the church--and in the hands of that statue. Why is this a problem?))

((For something he refers to as "The usual place" where he and traveler meet up... the player has never once in the entire game before this point met Venti in the statue's hands. Discounting the first time we meet him at the statue, we never even meet Venti at the Statue's base. Yet he's referring to it as a common occurrence, as if it's a preferred spot for them to "meet up." Most players actually assume that the big tree at Windrise was the "usual place" because we've met Venti there more often than at this statue.))

((Another thing to note is that a certain mechanic makes a whole lot more sense when you think about it--you know the quest markers in Genshin that tell you where to go, so you're not aimlessly wandering around trying to figure out what to do for days on end? Well... if Genshin is going to continue it's path down the genre deconstruction path that it seems to be going down (especially with the reveal that Katheryne is a fucking android of some sort--) (Another example that may be brought up in the future is respawning, since they said that Hilichurls can only die at certain spots like the Chasm (and thus what happens to Hilichurls we defeat out in the wild?) and the Ley Lines (The Ley Line sbeing revealed to be houses of memories, and thus, when we fight Ley Lines, we are fighting the memories of enemies, not actual ones) ectect) then this mechanic would also be on the agenda of deconstruction--something to explain away with lore. What better way to explain it than to be the Traveler having a sense of Deja-vu and vaguely remembering where to go and what to do?))

((That is mostly speculative theory though, of course.))

((As for Paimon, which I mentioned earlier--I think that her being very clearly suspicious may play a part in her apparent connections to the God of Time. If Venti is immune to the erasing memories aspect of the loop, then maybe Paimon is the cause of the loop. I suspect that the loop officially started when we met Paimon, if the time loop theory is true, and that we may encounter an instance where the traveler gets severely hurt or almost killed/on the verge of death. Panicked and scared of losing someone she cares about, Paimon's time abilities unlock and go rampant, thus sending the Traveler back to a time where they were safe and alive. This sort of ties in to how upset and scared Paimon got when Traveler disappeared on her for the whole day and... yeah, I do think she does truly care about us.))

((Again, this is pure speculation as to where the story is going to go, but regardless if it ends up being true or not, I really like the idea.))

((I really lope time loop/pseudo time loop plots, I eat that shit UP. And you know what? I'd really like to play with that aspect of Time Looping and retaining the memories of loops with Venti. With his cryptic nature and thinly veiled depression, well... yeah, I really dig the idea of him just persevering through these loops with no idea what to do or how to stop them so he just drinks himself silly until it starts again. Also I'd love to RP as Nahida/write a drabble about Nahida and this interpretation of Venti at some point.))

Another u-san/shoto fic. U-Shoto? idk lets workshop it later.

General rating again, ended up with a slightly different U-san origin story more based on the Tot Musica MV and Shoto has some more references to his lorevids here too.

U-san uses they/them

This is about characters not the ppl behind them yada yada

[ ] was over it.

They dedicated so much of their time and energy to their patron god and for what? A swift and grueling punishment for simply attempting the Song of Ruin. What kind of demon would [ ] be if they didn’t try to cause some mayhem? …Though they weren’t a *true* demon, just a pathetic human who was saved by their patrons' good graces, as they so lovingly like to beat into [ ] with every perceived slight and minor mistake.

This marks the first time their patron threw them back out into the human realm though. [ ] was confused, why just drop them completely after working to build them up as some kind of new magical development in the demon realm?

Whatever, [ ]’s not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth, they’ll take their voice somewhere where it's truly appreciated.

Shoto could smell something.

His gifted sense of smell was picking up an all too familiar stench of hell demon’s carry but under that, there was… something human?

Then he heard it, a beautiful voice, singing. Coming in the same direction as the peculiar smell.

‘Some kind of siren demon?’ his mind supplied, but Shoto couldn’t leave well enough alone. He may be retired on his sweeping killing spree of every demon, but if one is potentially hurting humans he’ll take them down like he used to.

Shoto made his way through the trees, now walking off the beaten path to investigate the voice. He was trying to reach the next settlement on his journey to see what the world has to offer outside of killing demons.

Following both his ears and nose he wadded through the trees and shrubbery, Shoto finally had a visual on the source. There, in a small clearing, a humanoid figure sat upon a tree stump, singing to an audience of small blue flames dancing in the air. Shoto found himself staring at the stranger's face, entranced with their soft facial features and white hair, styled in a wolf cut.

They finished their song, voice falling quieter as they hung on the last note. Their eyes, which had stayed closed during the entirety of the time Shoto observed them, finally opened and revealed stunning yellow gold eyes.

‘OH NO THEY’RE HOT!’

Shoto’s heart was betraying him, speeding up as they locked gazes. Shoto didn’t know what to do, he never felt anything close to this warm feeling directed at a demon before. Before there were plenty of objectively attractive demons Shoto had seen, physical attractiveness being a tool in a demon's arsenal, ready to be weaponized. But that was when his eyes were still clouded with the single purpose of killing every demon he came across, their looks all blurring together as Shoto cared only if they were alive or dead.

The little blue flames took notice of Shoto, following the stranger’s gaze to see Shoto just standing there in the forest shrubbery.

“Another fan?” one flame piped up, then the entire group of them erupted into murmurs, soon coalescing into a single fireball that shifted into … the shape of a hand?

The flame hand then shot towards Shoto, who panicked at their approach and began to take a step back, but he lost his footing on a large tree root, and started to lose his balance. But before he could fall, the fireball darted just past him, then he felt a large warm hand on his back, saving him from his fall but also pushing him into the clearing.

The hand didn’t stop their pushing until Shoto found himself face to face with the singer. Shoto was too close for comfort to what could still be a dangerous demon.

Though... standing this close to them his nose picked up that human smell more strongly, the smell of fires and sulfur drowned out by strawberries and-

“...Are you sniffing me?!” They break the silence to look at Shoto incredulously, who had closed his eyes subconsciously to focus on their smell and was indeed sniffing them.

“Wh- w- Wait it’s not what it looks like!”

“Then what DOES it look like, bitch!?”

The gaggle of flames having dispersed into their individual forms, were now watching with bated breath at the scene unfolding they kinda had a part in playing in. There could be small voices heard as some commentated:

“Oooooo someone is in trouble~”

“It is rather weirdge of that guy to be sniffing someone they just met, no?”

“Wish U-san would call me a bitch…”

“Um um um well you see, I have a magically gifted sense of smell so, when I noticed a demonic smell overlapping a human one I imagined- I thought maybe a demon was attacking someone?” Shoto’s voice cracks at the last syllable, utterly lost on how to handle the situation.

But then they just started laughing. “You- You’re telling me you have a magic nose?” they dissolve into a fit of giggles.

“Wh- what? That's what you're choosing to focus on?!”

The giggling pauses as they turn to the peanut gallery of blue flames, “Anybody else think this guy reminds them of a dog?” The blue flames start giggling in turn, some nodding in agreement.

“W- Why does everyone think I’m some kind of dog boy?!” Shoto is fully embarrassed now, blush growing more noticeable in color and size.

He is never beating the dog boy allegations.

“Well if me, a complete stranger can pick up on your “dog boy” energy, then maybe that's on you?”

“ANYWAYS!” Shoto trying to move away from this topic. “Y- you-” He audibly gulps as he’s trying to calm himself down. “Are you human?”

“...Not sure, really. I mean- I was born a human, sure but then this demon got his hands on me when I was in the middle of drowning- so now I got these things-”

Suddenly from their back, sprout jet black wings, with some feathers falling off in process. Some fire balls "ooo" and "aaa" at the sight. One goes to eat the stray feathers.

Shoto is bluescreening at the information that demons can seemingly alter humans, but also from the fact that this person is somehow even hotter now with the addition of wings.

“But-” the stranger interrupts Shoto’s thoughts. “They chewed me up and spit me back out for trying to sing a song that can raise hell” they sigh. “So I’ve just been chilling, searching and finding an audience for my singing.” They gesture towards the floating blue flames. Some start doing a lil dance. Their gaze turns back to Shoto, a chill running up his spine as they ask “Did you like my singing?”

“Y- yeah! Your voice is really nice! I- I’ve been trying to learn singing myself but wow your uh- voice makes me feel like I shouldn’t even bother-”

They suddenly come up to hold Shoto, one around his waist and another cupping his face as they talk quietly to him. “Don’t. I’m sure your singing voice is great judging by your regular voice. Don’t doubt yourself, you can always improve, yeah?”

Shoto is done for now, he thinks, their beautiful face just inches from his. Their quiet voice drips in what is no doubt their love for their craft but Shoto finds himself taking the words of assurance and encouragement as compliments. He finds himself staring at their lips.

“..do you have a name?”

“Pffft, HA!” the intense mood is broken as the stranger now steps away from Shoto, who thinks he might die if they don’t come back to hold him and keep whispering sweet nothings to him. “That’s the million dollar question everybody wants to know, yeah?” They go to sit back on their tree stump seat. “Well, I have no answer!” They groan in frustration, leaning back at letting their torso rest flat on the horizontal surface of the stump, wings spilling out on either side.

Shoto feels terrible now, having so suddenly soured this beautiful mood with a single innocent question. He stares at his shoes, trying to find the words to make this right, but they just met each other he doesn’t know what to say-

He feels a sudden warm feeling on his cheek, he looks up to find one of the small blue flames in front of him, ramming its adorably small body repeatedly into Shoto’s face. “What?”

“They’re unnamed for now, but we u-rei’s like to call them U-san ‘cuz the first letter in ‘unnamed’ is U and -san is a gender neutral suffix to refer to someone politely," the flame ball states rather matter-of-factly.

Shoto shoots a glance back at the singer, still laying there, eyes looking to the sky, looking like they’re waiting for something. “Do you guys know why they don't have a name?”

“Um well, from what we’ve gathered, the demon that experimented on them took their name, in the most literal sense, when they booted U-san out here. Wherever their name was written, there’s only a blank spot. They described recalling memories of their name being spoken aloud as if the sound was made abstract and incomprehensible. The memories of their friends being re-weaved to exclude U-san’s presence in their lives, alienating them from their old life.”

Shoto is… disturbed for sure, a demon that can just wipe a person’s name from existence, rewriting people’s memories…? But he puts that aside for now, arming himself with a determination to help this beautiful stranger. He leaves the little flame be, and walks toward them. “Hey.”

“What?” They don’t look at him.

“Have you heard what your little fanbase has been calling you?”

“...They’re calling me by a name?”

“Yeah, it’s U-san. Just the letter U with the -san suffix.”

“Heh. That’s cute.” They sit up, their wings dematerializing, Shoto goes to sit in the now freed up space.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. I like it.” They raise their voice to make sure the u-rei’s hear them, and it sets off a swirling ring of fire as they dance around each other, talking amongst themselves, repeating the phrase ‘They liked it!’ excitedly.

“Well nice to meet you U-san, my name is Shoto.” He holds out his hand for a shake.

U-san smiles, places their hand on Shoto’s and says:

“Good paw.”

“ENOUGH WITH THE DOG THING!”

I’ve been thinking of this scenario for a while now ever since I knew that y/n is going to advance in basically engineering.

So u see this

When I saw this I was in awed. I mean like look at this beauty of art~! *Ahem* Anyway back to what I was saying. (I was also inspired by Your Lie In April; Amazing anime with classical music and made me cry 🥹)

Lets say y/n can build this. A magical piano (Lets call it “The illusionary Piano”) that basically when you play with emotion, when you open up your heart to the piano and treat the piano like a baby, it will create an illustration of warmth (depending on what you imagine; say that you play Arabesque No.1 - Claude Debussy; as you play pink cherry blossoms appear as you feel a gentle breeze pass by and feel absolutely relaxed.)

of nostalgia, its very powerful, & it’s soul healing based on how you treat the piano.

Obviously you can play ZHE Genshin music as well. Wanna go to Qingce Village but don’t wanna disturb the residents of that place? SIMPLE~! Just play their theme Peaceful Hike (Qingce Daytime) & The Fading Stories (Qingce Night) and BOOM YOU’RE THERE~! . . . Only for a few minutes though. 😗

You can also sing too along with the melody too! Or you can hum the melody instead if you don’t feel like singing at all. That’s alright what ever makes you comfortable. Ex. TruE (Ed Ver.).

Or in other scenarios it doesn’t have to be just piano. It can start off with piano and as long as you remember what the melody was like, other instruments can join & become an orchestra. (Examples of these can be Violet Evergarden OST: Across the Violet Sky or The Ancient Magus Bride: Komi no Yuke (Orchestral Arrangement) {Orginal Kimi no Yukue} (These animes that I mention had made me cry at least once. 🥹)

Of course if you don’t want to play with the magic there is an off-switch so when you don’t wanna get emotional and just wanna play normal piano, there’s a switch to turn that off. Another detail would be that when playing on magical mode the gears of the piano would turn silenty so that it wouldn’t make and noise as your performing.

Ah oh yes how can I forget there’s even another switch that can change the tune from a piano to a guitar~ and other instruments as well~! (Yes these types of pianos/keyboards exist in actual life. Here’s an example.)

Aww~ I feel kinda sad cause I haven’t watched any of the anime you’ve mentioned and now I don’t get the references. (ToT)

But woah~ That fanart of Lumine is truly very beautiful. I love the idea of a magical piano that personifies the emotions of the player.

And yeah~ Y/n’s gonna be on the speedway to becoming Teyvat’s most memorable inventor, kinda like Leonardo da Vinci~!

I think a really cool extra feature on it would be being able to preserve the memory of previous performances, could be achieved using the powers of the ley lines/ Irminsul.

Also, it’s so cool to meet a fellow classical music fan~! I can only imagine how beautiful most pieces would be on an instrument of this sort. (>.<)

i'm so glad you asked! i like joji an okay amount (not as much as i like other artists but he's still up there) but i mean, im still gonna do it with the songs i know lmaooo. and as a treat, i shall give you another song with the joji songs bc why not! (and also an explanation bc im a whore for overanalyzing things kjbsdcjskb)

i do have a playlist for every nxx boi tho (i should... probably update them tho oops)

marius - slow dancing in the dark/westside

i mean, aside from it being one of his more popular songs, slow dancing in the dark is so much like marius. like, he wants to share himself but he would still have reservations. westside definitely exemplifies this, all the questions in the middle of the verse and the insecurities he'd face.

vyn - sanctuary/love

okay sanctuary fits vyn so well, especially since his whole thing is being able to see other people's bullshit, all he wants is someone who is true. someone who'd he could be safe with. the second song is more about the cynicism of love, something that vyn has at the beginning of the game (re: his reservations with love at first sight)

luke - 1AM FREESTYLE/is your bedroom ceiling bored?

luke 'angst machine' pearce gets songs that specifically make me think about his time in the NSB without MC. that's literally it he gets all the longing songs ksbjksb

Inside the Ferris wheel, I compared the picture of the Aquarian Serpent with the letter Z necklace that Marius wore.

Marius was stunned at my words. He took off his necklace so he could study it carefully.

Marius: If we’re talking about resemblance…

The metal pendant spun on Marius’s fingertips, leaving behind a silver glimmer in the dim lighting..

He turned the necklace around so that the “Z” was lying on its side, then with his hand, he traced out a diagonal line connecting the two ends of the letter.

Marius: If you use a line to connect the two ends of the “Z”, it really does resemble the shape of the ouroboros.*

Marius: In that case, the true meaning of this necklace could be…

MC: It could be a variation of the ouroboros!

Marius: …

Once I thought of it, it suddenly became clear, and I couldn’t help but grab Marius’s hand in excitement.

MC: How…

MC: I was only able to connect the image of the necklace with the ouroboros based on intuition.

MC: You’ve had this necklace for so long, so wouldn’t you have…

Marius: Maybe when someone’s been stuck in a riddle that has to do with themselves, they’ll lose that kind of intuition.

Marius smiled faintly and looked up, outside of the window.

Marius: I used to have tunnel vision over the meaning of the letter Z itself, and ended up ignoring the other obvious marks.

Marius: Just like this necklace…

Marius’s finger subconsciously traced over the metal pendant on his chest.

Marius: It was given to me by my mother. But aside from that, it represents the name “Z”…

Marius: Before that belonged to me, in an earlier time, it also once belonged to my mother.

MC: !!!

MC: You mean…

Hundreds of meters in the air, Marius casually spoke words that shocked me like thunder erupting near my ears.

For a while I had thought that the artist “Z” was Marius himself, but I never thought that there was another, deeper secret.

As I was surprised, numerous lights suddenly soared up into the sky from the ground. They morphed into magnificent fireworks, bursting in the pitch-black night sky.

The fireworks show began right on time.

Marius approached the window, reached out to brush his hand against the glass, and spoke next to my ear.

Marius: Unlike me, my mother was fascinated with music and other forms of art besides painting.

Marius: Apparently she always wore this necklace up until I was born, when she gave it to me.

Marius: So the first time I anonymously entered the art world, I subconsciously used the name that she had once used.

Marius: Even though it was so long ago, I’ve already long since thought of “Z” as part of myself, and long since gotten over my self-blame about my mother’s passing.

Marius: But sometimes, I still can’t help but think…

MC: Think what?

Marius turned his head slightly and extended his hand, seeming like he wanted to grasp all the lights of the sky in his palm.

He gazed at the sky, as if he were gazing into a past that he couldn’t touch.

Marius: Her life was so short. Just like these fireworks, she died when she was at her most brilliant.

Marius: Isn’t that… such a shame?

MC: …

Marius: Or maybe, when it came to giving birth to me…

Marius: Did she ever have a moment of regret?

MC: …

Shame, regret… Despite saying he wasn’t bothered by it, would Marius actually still have moments of doubt?

In the flickering lights, Marius’s face was calm almost to the point of indifference, but I could feel a barely perceptible sense of sadness from him.

It was repressed beneath the tides of the long years, and only in this quiet place high up in the air could it begin to be visible.

I couldn’t help but gently cover Marius’s hand.

MC: Don’t think like that. If we had to measure it, a life has never been judged based on how long or short it is.

MC: Just like these fireworks, even though they have a short lifespan, they’re brilliant enough that that moment lasts for eternity.

I tried my hardest to make my voice sound completely normal.

MC: As observers, we’ll never have a say in other people’s decisions.

MC: So rather than losing ourselves in endless guessing, it’s better to look at the reality that’s in front of us.

MC: For example, the thing that we’re already certain about.

Marius: You mean…

I nodded, my smile returning, and met Marius’s eyes.

MC: The shape of the letter Z necklace that Mrs. von Hagen left you really does come from the von Hagen family crest.

MC: Life cycles without pause. Regardless of what really happened that year, she hoped that you’d hold onto your belief and continue to live on.

San Antonio criminal defense attorney weighs in on Casey Anthony Docuseries

Casey Anthony or famously named “Tot Mom”, by former Fox News Nation host, Nancy Grace, or the woman acquitted of the murder of her 3-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony is finally “speaking out” in new peacock docuseries.

Backlash ensued after Peacock announced that Casey Anthony will be reportedly pleading her case in their exclusive new docuseries, “Where the Truth Lies” after she was famously acquitted of a capital murder charge in 2011 regarding her once missing toddler, Caylee Marie Anthony.

Caylee was reported missing in 2008 by her maternal grandparents, and after months of searching, her body was found only 10 houses down in a swamp near the Anthonys’ home, according to her court case. Forensics showed that in the trunk of Casey Anthonys car showed evidence of human decomposition, and a hair that was found was similar to that of Caylee’s.

According to ABC news, Anthony was once called “The Most Hated Woman in America” and received numerous death threats after the verdict came out that she was in fact, not guilty.

Earlier this November, Peacock announced that the upcoming True Crime docuseries will reportedly revolve around Casey’s side of the story, and is out now as of November 29th, 2022.

This will be Anthony’s first time appearing on television since her acquittal.

However, for those that remember the disappearance of Caylee Anthony, there are questions and concerns about why the mother is being given a platform.

Fox & Friends Host, Ainsley Earhardt, and Nancy Grace going over the controversial docuseries.

Nancy Grace, former Fox Nation host, and one of the many journalists to have covered the case was asked in a recent Fox & Friends interview about her thoughts on the upcoming series.

According to Fox News, Grace was invited to be a part of the docuseries with Peacock but declined. When asked about why she did not want to take part in the interview Grace said,

“I'd be condoning an airbrushed digitized version of her truth. Her truth is very different from the truth.”

She also added that, “Whatever we get will be nothing but a pack of lies, and I don’t want to be part of that. The time she should have spoken, many would argue, was in court. I think she should have spoken when her daughter went missing. She told one lie after the next.”

Others seem to share different opinions when it comes to whether Anthony deserves a platform to tell her side of the story.

San Antonio Criminal Defense Attorney, Adam Cortez was interviewed by KENS5 Eyewitness News in 2011, over ten years ago, and talked with KENS5 briefly about his opinion on Casey Anthony and her case.

Cortez recently recalls the trial as extremely horrible, and has dealt with similar cases in his practice, but they did not involve a child.

He shared that some people could seem like they have committed murder, but in order to be charged, the jury must have unreasonable doubt, and in this case, the lack of outstanding evidence is reported to have been the reason that Anthony was found not guilty.

“I believe the jury made the right decision based on the evidence. That doesn’t mean they didn’t believe she was guilty, but they did not believe there was enough evidence to establish that she was guilty of homicide beyond a reasonable doubt”, stated Cortez.

Anthony was however found guilty of falsifying information, child neglect, and obstructing an investigation, which in turn caused her to be sentenced to four years at the Orange County Jail in Florida for time served with a $1000 fine for each count.

Cortez said,

“neglect was pretty obvious, but whether or not she actually perpetrated the crime- I think she did in my personal opinion, but the evidence was not overwhelming against her. It’s questionable.”

Cortez is also not surprised that the docuseries announcement and Peacock is receiving backlash and understands the hate that people have for her,

“at a minimum, we should be able to agree that she was one neglectful mom and that’s certainly enough for people not to like her”, he said.

Cortez said if he has the time, he may take a look at the series himself, and says that Anthony being given a chance to talk where profit is to be made is not at all shocking, but something he had expected.
