Season 3: Episode 9 Spoiler
.
.
There are a lot of amazing things about this episode. First off, VENTRESS showing up, and also helping Omega!
I felt bad about the squad getting their shebs kicked by her...but it was also kind of cool!!!
And sorry, but Crosshair holding out his hand to help Omega and then Ventress onto the Marauder has ruined me 😭😭😭
I luv him

"I may process moments and thoughts differently, but it does not mean that I feel any less than you."
Okay. I don’t usually make serious posts, but I felt like this was something worth discussing. Now the episode hasn’t even been out a full day, and I’m already coming across a few people fretting that Tech is going to get ‘called out’ by others for being a ‘dick’ over the way he pointedly questioned Omega “what is your issue” and the way he has been at continuous loggerheads with Wrecker.
Now I know there has been a lot of ‘if’ing and ‘r’ing about the confirmation of Tech being autistic, whether it’s a canon thing or whether it’s just up for us to decide and interpret. Well I’m here to say that I think this is possibly the biggest indicator we have had for Tech most certainly having autism. A common condition that people with autism can have as a facet in their characteristics is that of alexithymia: problems with feeling/expressing emotions.
I’m no psychiatrist by any stretch of the imagination and I certainly don’t claim to speak on the behalf of every autistic person (that would actually be impossible seeing as the web of characteristics/conditions is incredibly diverse) but as an autistic person myself, I can tell you the way Tech has been acting in this episode is completely understandable and valid. It hasn’t been pleasant or very helpful for his siblings, but it is understandable nevertheless.
By nature, Tech has always favoured taking a methodical, logic-fuelled approach to situations in order to derive a conclusion/solution. He has rarely found himself caught in a situation where this approach does not yield a sure-fire course of action, where complex emotions are involved (hence why he mentions Crosshair here because this is potentially the only other situation he can liken the emotional turmoil to). It is common for alexithymic people to have outbursts of frustration when they find they cannot adequately register the intense emotions of others or in turn express their own in a way that is understandable to their peers, such as upset, grief and confusion. In lieu of Echo’s sudden leave, the whole Batch, Tech included, are probably feeling all three at this moment in time.
This explains his tendency throughout the episode to lash out and argue with his siblings, notably Wrecker, rather than take the generic, empathetic approach of talking out his emotions with them and going through the motions together (simply because as previously said, he is incapable of this). I can tell you that this must very isolating for Tech in a time more than ever when all he would want is comfort and reassurance also. This doesn’t register with the rest of the Batch because Tech’s own emotional strains are not being generically expressed due to his own separate set of neurological circumstances. Albeit they are not recognising his own internal struggles.
Tech is caring and protective of his siblings, there should be no doubts about this. He can see the impact the Empire has had on the Batch and how it has now effectively caused two of their brothers to leave the fold. Albeit, he is more than foresightful enough to see how small and fragile the Batch has become and the trepidation of this could very well all but be fuelling his frustrations. There is every chance he is experiencing his own sense of loss and abandonment through all of this, while still trying to be rational and level-headed one of the team. I believe that for the first time, we actually see Tech struggling to come to terms that he is officially out of his depth in this area and therefore is out of control in the situation, a concept very alien and disconcerting for him. Throw in a still-cognitively-developing child, a headstrong, very emotional, child-like individual with adhd and a team leader that is very prone to characterological self-blame and emotional withdrawal on the back of this, and I would say Tech has still been managing everything remarkably well, all other variables considered.
I am really glad that they are showing these characteristics to us within this dynamic where the Batch do consider each other family and therefore pull together and get through whatever crap the galaxy throws at them. It is these traits and tendencies that are projected by Tech in this episode that are a very common reason autistic people are scorned, ridiculed and segregated off by their peers irl. Even though we cannot generically express it, we deeply appreciate those that stick by us and try to understand us during periods of emotional uncertainty, disarray and stress.
It touches me to see that despite the Batch not always being able to see eye-to-eye with Tech and vice versa, they will still accept each other for who they are, quirks and all, and love each other. I only wish people could learn from this

Forgotten
A/N: This idea came to me after watching episode 9.  It’s when Wrecker sits down, in the abandoned space port and finally has the time to think that he realizes the mistake he made, when he opens up his pack and realizes an important passenger isn’t there.
Lula. After everything with Kamino, and having to make a quick getaway. After Omega thankfully managed to get her, he had kept her in his pack. Safe and sound, where no one could harm her. On every mission, every stop at a port, hell even if it was just a five minute walk to get Mantel mix, she would come. But today… the ship was close, they weren’t going far. How was he to know someone would steal it? And then he didn’t realize because hey, he always brings her with him. She’s nice and safe in his pack. But she wasn’t. Wrecker realizes, and his eyes well up with tears as his hands shake. First Crosshair, then Echo and now Lula… A sob shatters the silence, as tears pour down his face and he cries. He cries so hard he can hardly breath. Cries so hard he can hardly hear the panicked yells of the two brothers he has left and his niece, who crawls into his arms. Wrecker can feel as his brothers check him for injuries, hear as they ask him what’s wrong but he can’t answer. He’s losing everything. Does the force hate him? He wants his Lula, his Echo, his Crosshair… his dad. But they’re all gone, one dead, two left and one who he left on the ship because he’s just a big idiot. “Wrecker? Hey big guy, we’ll get her back. Shhh, we’ll… we’ll get her back.” Wrecker focuses on Hunter’s voice, looking up at him with wide, heartbroken eyes. His older brother looks worried, and then he notices that he’s hugging him. “There we go, focus on me. We will get Lula back, don’t care about the ship, or anything else. Lula will be saved.” Hunter promises. “It’s all my fault.” Wrecker sobs, hugging Omega. “It’s all my fault. We lost Lula.” Tech and Hunter share a look, before Tech clears his throat. “Wrecker, it will be okay. Lula has a high probability of being untouched.” He explains. “She is a stuffed animal to everyone but us, so she will not be a target. We will get her back.” “And it’s not your fault.” Omega says softly, cupping his cheeks. “It was an accident. We’ll get her back.” She promises. “We will.” Hunter assures as well, hugging Wrecker’s left side softly and kissing his head.  Tech comes over and hugs Wreckers right side, sighing softly as he taps on his datapad to try and figure out what’s going on. They need to find their ship. With his brothers at his sides and niece in his arms, Wrecker sniffles and curls close, needing to be comforted rather than do the comforting. He hopes they find her, he prays they do. He needs his Lula back. He needs everyone back.

OMEGA WHY WOULD YOU TAKE YOUR HELMET OFF IN THE CAVE AROUND POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS?!?! I FEEL LIKE THAT IS A BAD IDEA

You know what I’m really enjoying about this season of the bad batch? They’re giving them development. They’re showing us that they really aren’t meant to work alone and as a unit, they’re more cohesive and their general well being is better because they’re so used to being together.
S2 basically canonized Tech being autistic after dropping hints for quite a while.
Hunter’s used more of his abilities in these 9 episodes then he did the entirety of S1 and The Clone Wars.
Omega’s confusion and general attitude has come from the magnitude of the loss she has endured. The girl, though young, is having exactly the type of reaction one has when they can’t quite deal with everything by themselves. She has the emotional stability of the Bad Batch - outside of Echo - because the clones are generally not taught how to deal with their emotions.
I do find it super interesting that the Batch has to be reminded that she’s a kid: Because as soon as Tech gets too matter of fact with Omega after the cave in, all three of them have visible reactions to her walking off with the request to be left alone.
I don’t know. I find the character centered plot and general development of all but Crosshair SO much better this season. They’re giving a story that has shown us the beginnings of the Empire, the clones lack of rights, the Batch dealing with the losses they’ve endured as well as the child they have who is, at the root of it, their heart.
She is the antithesis of them. They are soldiers. They are created for a purpose and their thinking mirrors much of it until each clone finds their own autonomy. Even then.. it’s hard to change your mentality when, as Tech says, “We adapt to change because that’s what soldiers do.”
But.. she’s not a soldier. She’s a child with a huge heart who feels things so much more deeply then them.
And it shows.
Tech’s immediate response to Omega being in danger was to save her. Hunter immediately knew something was wrong with Omega, so he and Wrecker went looking for her. We’ve seen Wrecker’s response to when Omega has threat against her multiple times.
Season 2 is really solidifying how much they love their sister.

✨ NOT-SO-SPOILER FREE ART ✨
Okay so I decided to remove the cut because we already knew she'll appear in this episode because of that sneak peak from about two weeks ago.
Tumblr media
AAAAND this is my Bad Batch Actors AU!
So I will be doing one for each episode featuring characters that made an appearance. This explains why I HAVE TO place a cut on some of these.
I did study clapperboards and what's written on them. I also watched the credits for the info. For the filming date, I just wrote the release date since I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THESE EPISODES WERE MADE LOL
Happy Bad Batch Day everyone!

Dark Disciple & Bad Batch S3E9 SPOILERS
why i think Asajj Ventress lied to Omega & the Bad Batch
so in Dark Disciple, ex-sith Asajj Ventress and jedi Quinlan Vos fall in love. Ventress eventually becomes torn by Vos, because she recognizes that jedi cannot form attachments like this, and Vos is throwing away everything he’s ever known for her.
secondly, she wants to leave everything behind with him. she ends up recognizing the cruciality of love and what it means to be loved and found. she was alone and betrayed for so long (by family, mentors, and people she was meant to trust) and when she finally found peace and partnership in Vos; that changed her forever. in the end, Ventress turned to the light.
i think that in the end of TBB episode 9, she lies to Omega because Ventress recognizes the Bad Batch’s love for her. they protect her and care for her, and Ventress sees that.
Omega has what Ventress never had; and i believe that part of Ventress wants to preserve that for Omega.
Ventress told Hunter that Omega would have to leave them behind in order to become a jedi, in which Hunter responds, “not happening.”
Ventress sees how the Bad Batch support, protect, and love Omega. they keep each other safe. if Ventress was changed by Vos’s love, and recognized the love between the Bad Batch, i believe that Ventress would lie to their faces to keep them together. to allow them to live the life that she never had.

(Very Mild) SPOILERS:
Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Episode 9: The Harbinger
I have something to say about Mount Tantiss.
Here is a photo of Mount Tantiss;
Tumblr media
And here is a photo of Pabu in the most recent episode;
Tumblr media
When the episode first showed the shot of rainy Pabu, I did not even recognise it as Pabu for a fraction of a moment. I thought we had scene changed for a split second.
I could go in depth about the way the lighting and weather is reflecting our characters but I am not as articulate as some of you, and I know many will be talking about this (which is fantastic and I can't wait to see what you think). Just know that the lighting and shadows on characters is reflecting their headspace, and weather also brings atmospheric examples of the turmoil the characters are facing.
What I'm stuck on currently is how Pabu has parallels/shares similarities to Mt Tantiss.
On top of the visual comparison, to Crosshair and Omega, Pabu probably also feels like prison to a degree.
Omega had freedom to move around the same way she could on Tantiss, but doesn't have the freedom to actually go anywhere/do anything.
Omega feels that she left her brothers behind and that she could have done more. She is now on Pabu and feels she cannot do anything to help yet as she doesn't have answers and her brothers are protecting her.
Crosshair has more freedom than he did on Tantiss but as he is sticking with his brothers, he also cannot leave.
The others, to a degree, are also probably still watching him for signs of betrayal (betrayal is a strong word, deviance is probably better)
Even if they had a plan to help, they are essentially still 'trapped' here until they figure out what is happening with Megs and how to keep her safe.
Mt Tantiss to a degree has the same 'stuck on an island' feeling because the environment and wildlife outside of the main area you see the characters is dangerous. This keeps them in the one place, the same as being surrounded by ocean keeps you on the land.
I think the visual parallel is helping to remind us that while our characters are safe right at this moment, the Harbinger has only brought more uncertainty and insecurity.
My thoughts are all over the place right now so this may not make sense. I'm still processing the latest episode. But absolutely let me know what y'all think about this and if you can articulate your thoughts better.
And feel free to tell me all of your thoughts about everything.

So I just finished Episode 7 and.
LET. ME. COOK!
Just like Gregor
Anyways, this post is about
Clone X
Tech
The future episode 10
And a TBB theory
SPOILERS BELOW!!
Ok so, many people are theorizing that Clone X is Tech (And I agree) but I have my own theory about it.
So why is episode 10 mentioned?
Well I theorized that the reveal for Tech is the end or middle of Episode 8, then Episode 9 he will start to break out of what Helmlock did to him. Episode 10's name is called
Identity Crisis
So let me cook here! In episode 10, Tech finally breaks out of the mind control and goes back to the Bad Batch (And maybe even Phee), apologize and then join them. Considering that X clone Tech was made on Tantiss, like the other assassin clones, he may have the most info on Tantiss, maybe not the coordinates but maybe what they are doing and maybe get some insight on this Project Necromancer that Helmlock talked about.
Maybe I cooked a 3 Michelin star meal, maybe I burnt down the kitchen? Who knows but come back to this when Episode 10 is up.

So, I’ve been texting my dad (mostly) spoiler free summaries of The Bad Batch all season, each with a different theme (bad batch episodes as Disney park rides, bad batch episodes so far as out of context Wrecker lines, etc), and the last one was just me trying to make the episodes as mundane as possible. Which basically went like:
1. The Spoils of War: A questionable middle-manager tempts her employees with the sizeable performance bonus.
2. The Ruins of War: Mom horrified to learn that their daughter took him literally while their brother refuses to acknowledge a medical emergency.
3. The Solitary Clone: Depressed man who hates his job and never gets a lunch break is forced to deal with the woman who keeps ignoring all the “under new management” signs.
4. Faster: Gifted pilot reveals that he is no more responsible than either the man child or the literal child he was left to supervise.
5. Entombed: Child convinces her aunt to take her to a high tech corn maze; exhausted dad reluctantly tags along.
6. Tribe: Dad Squad steps in to help with a carpool.
7. The Clone Conspiracy: Career soldiers contemplate retirement.
8. Truth and Consequences: Wanted criminals break in to the world’s most dangerous Blockbuster to find a rare video.
9. The Crossing: Family goes spelunking in Space Moab.
10. Retrieval: Demolitions expert is so hangry he accidentally stumbled into a Dickens novel.
11. Metamorphosis: Four idiots go out of their way to prove that they have never seen a horror movie.
12. The Outpost: New transfer goes birdwatching in the snow.
13. Pabu: Broke ne’erdowells eat sushi.
14. Tipping Point: Responsible big brother teaches little sister how to drive the family car while one brother grabs dinner and the other has a doctor’s appointment.

TBB S3 - Why Wrecker Will Die (Ep 8-12 Spoilers)
Ok, I’ve seen all kinds of posts predicting who in the Batch is gonna end up dying by the end of S3, I’ve seen Hunter, Echo, and maybe even Omega.
But I’ve been thinking about it, and I just realized…
Tumblr media
What if Wrecker dies?
Wrecker has gotten a lot of character development recently, from being the voice of reason for Hunter in Ep 2 to showing off his expertise in explosives in Ep 8. But there’s something else.
THINK ABOUT IT, PEOPLE.
HE’S ALWAYS GETTING HURT THIS SEASON.
Ep 8 (Bad Territory): Almost got STABBED when fighting Sylar. TWICE.
Ep 9 (The Harbinger): Force choked by Ventress
Ep 11 (Point of No Return): Was unconscious for the majority of the episode after narrowly escaping the Marauder when it exploded
Ep 12 (Juggernaut): Almost FELL OFF PHEE’S SHIP when escaping Erebus
WHY is he getting so much character development?
WHY is he getting so many close calls?
and WHYYYYY is this so similar to another dear brother's character arc who departed us?
Tumblr media
TECH.
Tech had a LOT of character development in S2, and there were multiple moments when he slipped or stumbled, FORESHADOWING his deathly fall.
Y’ALL SAW THE WAY WRECKER SLIPPED WHEN JUMPING ONTO PHEE’S SHIP IN JUGGERNAUT, RIGHT??
RIGHT???
THIS👏IS👏NOT👏A👏COINCIDENCE!!!
Excuse me as I go cry in the corner---
