hakata izakaya, taman mutiara, cheras.
a rather new japanese izakaya style restaurant near my neighborhood, decided to visit with my family to celebrate mother’s day. the menu has quite a lot of options, different kinds of japanese dishes and set meals to choose from.
i decided to have small bites instead of set meals - rainbow roll, california maki, tobikko gunkan, pork belly with baby corn skewer, grilled oyster mentaiyaki and grilled lady’s fingers.
the food takes a while to arrive when the restaurant is crowded, the service is quite efficient though as there are many staff around. the sushi and makis are quite nice, it’s fresh and portion size is okay too. the yakitori is grilled nicely, very flavorful and enjoyable.
the ambiance here is very casual, there’s also outdoor seating area for people who wanna drink and listen to live band. it’s a pretty okay neighborhood japanese restaurant, nothing too fancy but could satisfying japanese food cravings with lots of variety.

Green onions to garnish and a sprinkle of paprika for color. Mmm 🙂
