the weird anatomy of the non-human students of night raven college.
Wanted to share some fun anatomy ideas from the animal counterparts of some of the characters in twisted wonderland.
Make the less human characters even less human.
Going to start off with octavinelle boys because they live in my head rent-free...
Azul:
With Azul being an octopus, he doesn't have any bones, his body is all muscle and has cartilage in replacement of where bones would be in his upper half in his mer form. due to this fact he is incredibly flexible in both forms, in his mer-form, he is able to fit through a tube that is 1 ft in diameter.
Likes the pressure on his body from living in the depths of the twilight zone and the safety of his octopot growing up. Since there's a lot less pressure on the surface, he has to sleep cocooned with a weighted blanket.
He has 3 hearts and blue blood. this blue blood has more difficulty carrying oxygen, so in both forms, he has to catch his breath a lot more, and can even have a heart give out if he strains himself too much. luckily he can still go with 2 hearts but makes sure to take things easy.
In his mer-form, he has horizontal pupils that are very similar to those of an octopus. Has normal eyes in his human form, but he is slightly red-green colorblind, The twins tease him about his color blindness a lot.
Azul is so smart due to Octopi having 9 brains, well, one big brain and 8 nerve clusters similar to brains for each of the arms. Each nerve cluster can control the arms separately. Each arm is covered with hundreds of suction cups that can move independently, so it's honestly very hard to overstimulate Azul in either form.
Due to growing up in the dark he has great Nightvision. he is also able to withstand crushing pressures, be perfectly alright in freezing temperatures, and able to lift a surprising amount of weight.
he has no beak in either form but does have a poisonous bite. Able to paralyze someone for an hour when in his mer form. In his human form the poison is more mild, so it just numbs the area he bit for an hour.
his grip strength is scary strong, the average human grip strength is 44 pounds of pressure for women and 72 for men. His grip strength is about 98 pounds of pressure. He could snap bones if he focused. Once he has his hands on you there's no escaping unless he allows it. Also, his handshakes are a bit painful.
Jade + Floyd:
Eel mers come in a variety of different types, some freshwater, others salt, some travel around, some burrow, and some can only live in the deepest depths. These two troublemakers are an unknown species of moray eel(I looked, I even tried to find a species that looks like them, but no dice). So just going to go with basic moray eel stuff because these two are being difficult.
Morays have two sets of teeth, this second set of jaws are called the pharyngeal jaws, they are located in the throats of the eels, and used to help in swallowing wiggling prey. The twins do have these second jaws, they don't really need them, but Floyd loves to do "double bites" and Jade says it's a great scare tactic to have them launch out at people. You can usually see the sharp teeth around the entrance to their throats, so when Floyd has his mouth open a bit, you can usually see them just behind where the uvula sits.
All eels are scaleless so they are covered in a layer of slime to protect themselves against scratching against rocks or attacking jaws. Sometimes this slime is poisonous. According to Azul's ceremonial robes vignette, the twins have nice smooth skin due to their mer-form's slime. Unfortunately, the removal of the slime can cause pain, inability to swim/walk, and extreme sensitivity to air. Luckily their slime is just extremely slippery and not poisonous.
Most eels are nocturnal and hunt at night, so be wary of the tweels, they cause the most chaos after the sun has set. They also nap a lot during the day due to this. Due to hunting more at night, they have good night vision and an incredible sense of smell, allowing them to track someone like a bloodhound in the water, on land, it's not as strong, but about equal strength to the powerful sniffers in savanaclaw.
Most morays are ambush predators, they like to find hidden nooks to watch from and lunch out to drag prey into their layers and throats. These two walk along shadows and pop out of nowhere to gather info and intimidate others. They also prefer darker areas, when they first became human they needed sunglasses. Floyd will 100% wait in a closet to leap out and squeeze anyone when he's in a "hunting/ambushing" mood.
According to research, moray eel mucus and mouth slime can contain specific toxins that cause their bites to be more painful and increase blood loss and time needed for the wound to heel. So don't let them bite you, you'll bleed a lot more and it will be incredibly painful, there is also a high risk of infection.
Ruggie:
not as many crazy differences as his normal self, His proportions are a bit odd. He has a larger head than normal with stronger jaws and sharper teeth. Also a thick neck.
Has freckles due to being a spotted hyena.
He has sharp claws and stronger arms than his legs, though he is a really good runner too.
according to some random thing, spotted hyenas sleep in puddles or under bushes. So Ruggie has a water bed or just a kitty pool.
Can stomach and eat anything. Just prefers more edible foods rather than scraps of things that he had to scavenge in his past.
Most beastmen have specific and strange social things due to their animal counterparts, from strange behaviors to unspoken rules.
For Ruggie, those you care about you share the food, women are above them so know your place, scavenge what you can and don't get caught, run more than fight, and if there's food go, NEVER steal another's food from their plate.
Leona:
Leona has retractable claws on his hands.
He also has prominent canines and a tongue that has barbes that can rip the meat off of bones
can eat ALOT in one sitting, The average person can eat 3.3 pounds of food, and Leona can eat up to 7 lbs of food.
Older lion-men have darker hair, they don't get grey hairs, just darker and darker hair. young lions have brighter hair, like bright blond, red, or light brown.
There is a hierarchy in the social world of the lion beastmen, a ruler, his queen, and the family,
just like lion prides there are far more females, somewhat like concubines for the leader, but that kind of thinking fell away more recently. they are usually seen as part of the pride leaders family.
Women are highly respected and helpful, they work just as hard as men and get the same things as men.
Jack:
Jack has a lot more hair on his body, it is a dark grey, so it doesn't stand out much on his somewhat dark skin.
His canines are also fairly prominent.
he has sharper than normal fingernails. he also has more leathery skin on his hands and feet, allowing him a better grip.
incredibly strong legs and unnatural stamina, can jog for 10 hours straight if he needed to.
amazing sense of smell, able to track someone like a bloodhound.
wolf's tails are a way some can communicate without the need to talk. Jack is very blunt due to growing up mostly with his family, they communicate simple emotions and ideas with their tail language. movement and hair stance on the tails will tell a lot.
able to walk on top of the snow without sinking when on all fours, can also handle the winter cold easily, never needing more than a simple long sleeve shirt and pants on an especially cold day.
Malleus:
being a dragon he eats a lot, and he also generates a lot of heat due to his high metabolism. On cold days you can see heat waves off of his bare skin. He never needs a jacket no matter how cold.
Has a special organ just behind the collarbone that contains fire-generating chemicals.
Has sharp claws, and uses magic to make them shorter than they are so he can hold stuff.
Has dark strong scales along his chest instead of hair.
has a prehensile tail, just hides it with magic.
Is actually cold-blooded, just generates so much heat he doesn't need to warm up.
very sharp teeth and a split, lizard-like tongue. poisonous bite, like a komodo dragon, so be careful!
flies using magic, likes making the magic that's helps him fly look like dark wings.
has slited eyes.
Lilia:
Very sharp canines, likes his meat very bloody. undercooks any meat, he has accidentally given food poisoning to so many people.
surprisingly strong legs, also crazy strong grip strength.
only drinks blood once a year, just orders a gallon of sheep's blood, he doesn't like human blood, too fatty in recent centuries for his tastes.
has a stronger sense of smell than one would think, also has strange little slits on the sides of his nose, these are heat sensors, and he can see people's heat signatures.
normal eyesight but has incredibly sensitive hearing and can echolocate if his heat sensors aren't useful.
numbing saliva.
doesn't have wings but can summon large bat wings on his back with a special spell he created.
Sebek:
crocodile boy. jagged teeth, but they are surprisingly straight due to his father's dental practices.
cold blooded so he needs to warm up a lot and needs so many sweaters and warm drinks during colder months. He gets very lethargic and falls asleep if he gets too cold. He feels so bad when he falls asleep when on guard duty.
favors seafood, especially codfish. Crazy strong jaw strength, uses it to easily snap bones when needed.
has sharp short claws and tough leathery skin, and slited reptilian eyes.
slightly webbed hands and feet, he is amazing in the water. can hold his breath for 8 minutes.

dumping random info/headcannons abt FNAF characters while I work on their designs pt 2: Henry Emily
Basic info:
Name: Henry Joseph Emily
Birth: July 13, 1947
Height: 6’2
Again, not gonna go super in depth in his life, maybe another day
Henry was born and raised in Utah to a family of 3, consisting of; James Emily (father), Grace Emily (mother), Beatrice Emily (younger sister, middle child), and Charles Emily (younger brother, youngest child). His childhood was average and pretty normal, parents were a bit neglectful but other than that they were kind and occasionally loving. His family wasn’t super well off, but they were stable. His father was a car mechanic and the reason Henry first got into engineering. He’d spend hours just watching his father work. He was a pretty introverted and quiet kid, didn’t make friends easily, but was unbothered by that fact. His teachers loved him for being a quiet, respectful, and incredibly smart student while other students were either weirded out just a bit or intimidated. And that intimidation grows once he gets into highschool, he’s one of those kids who had a full beard by the time they were 16, plus he was 6’2 and in general pretty big. In 1965 he gets into Dixie Technical College (Again, like my last one, I think the name might’ve been changed to Utah Tech in around 2022, but I’m not sure) and meets William during his Sophomore year. They almost immediately click, which is a weird feeling for Henry, considering he’s usually not been close to many people. Fredbear’s Family Diner in 1972. He gets married to Susan in 1972 also, who he actually loves (and who William absolutely despises). In 1973 Susan passes during childbirth to Charlie, which leaves him in a pretty depressed state for a while, but he was able to heal a bit. After William and Claire’s Divorce, Henry and William just kinda helped each other with each other’s kids, like one big family, and not gay at all.
Random shit abt personality:
Henry is extremely stoic and cold when you first meet him, but turns into an extremely kind and warm person once you get to know him (he’s also like that around kids). He doesn’t even talk that much with people he knows, mostly a listener, but that ends up working out perfectly since he spends most of his time with William who will rant about anything he wants at any given opportunity. As much as he wouldn’t admit it, he’s a bit obsessive and overprotective. While he isn’t as charming or over the top as William is, he still really enjoyed preforming as Fredbear.
General random shit:
He finds William absolutely fascinating, because, at first, he met William and saw just some guy, kinda charming and a bit energetic but other than that pretty normal, but the closer they got (aka, the closer William pushed himself towards Henry), the more Henry started to learn about Will and notice that things were just… off. The way he acts when he’s in a situation he’s comfortable, the way he’ll just look at you as he processes something you say, the way he either never makes eye contact or stares into your soul, the way he seems to pick up on other’s personalities, the way he can ramble without a single stutter. While a lot of this stuff is William just being autistic, neither Henry or Will know that, so Henry thinks William is just weird and he finds that so fascinating and slightly endearing. He LOVES fishing, not more than engineering, but it comes close. His parents both have pretty thick southern accents, having previously lived in Texas. His accent isn’t very prominent, but shows through a lot more if he’s around others with southern accents. When Henry realized he was in love with William his mind immediately shot into homophobia territory, trying to “keep those thoughts down”, he ends up coming to terms to it at some point.
yaaayyyy we done
again, if u wanna ask shit or something abt him/anything u can, I’m still bored

2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 27 of the Character Development "Hard Mode" for Emily
2. What is/was your character's relationship with their mother like?
Emily and Vivian had a very affectionate relationship, and Emily would describe it as "close." Even after Emily left for school, she called her mother every week and visited often. But Vivian never noticed her daughter's anxiety: she only saw her kind, brilliant daughter seeming to excel at everything. Emily never thought to confide to her mother about her insecurities. This is just how everyone goes through the world, right?
4. Has your character ever witnessed something that fundamentally changed them? If so, does anyone else know?
Not so far, though I suspect her relationship with Wayne is going to radically change her outlook.
5. On an average day, what can be found in your character's pockets?
Normally Emily carries a purse instead of putting things in her pockets. Objects in Emily's purse include keys on a keyring, a pocketbook with photo of her and Vivian, a cell phone, a tube of pepper spray, some tampons and pantyliners, a mirror compact, a lipstick, a lip balm, a tube of mascara, a tissue packet, BandAids in a tin, a box of breath mints, and two latex condoms. It never hurts to be prepared!
6. Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams?
Emily has romantic dreams about Wayne that she completely forgets in her waking hours.
7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?
Being back in school and having to take exams she didn't study for. Unfortunately Emily remembers these dreams just fine.
27. How does your character normally deal with confrontation?
Emily is a natural diplomat. She is always trying to intuit what each party wants, what would lead to the best possible outcome for all, and what she can say to convince everyone to take the right course of action. She's a schemer, but a benevolent one.

Hey everybody in Tumbland here's an exclusive sneak peek at my upcoming game, Historically/Mythologically A.C.C.U.R.A.T.E., the most detailed, realistic, and historically/mythologically accurate role-playing game since FATAL. Below you will find the very intuitive and realistic rules for determining your character's age.
Age
To determine your character’s age, roll as indicated on the “Starting Age By Race” table for years, then 1d10-1 for months, 1d4-1 for weeks, 1d10-1 for days, and 1d24-1 for hours.* This value is a character’s Current Chronological Age (CCA) as well as their Current Physical Age (CPA)
If the result is negative, that means your character has not yet been born and has a CCA of 0, calculate their birth date as normal with the result being the date and time that they will be born. If the result exceeds the maximum age listed for your race on the age table, the character has died of old age. Set CPA to the listed maximum age −1d12%  and roll on the “Post-death Effects” table to determine if your character has returned as a ghost or revenant, or is resting peacefully. Characters who have died continue aging chronologically, but not physically.
As the game progresses players must track their character’s age as time passes. In general it will not be necessary to track a character’s age to the hour, as long as all players increment the day at the hour indicated in the “Hours” field of their Current Physical Age. If a player wishes, they may express the weeks of a character’s age in increments of 2.5 to make the math simpler. Starting at 0, then 2.5 for the first week, 5 for the second, 7.5 for the third, and incrementing the month by 1 and setting the week back to 0 for the fourth.
To determine your character’s birthday, subtract their CCA from the current date and time to get their day and hour of birth. When a character reaches a new age category, the effects of that category take place immediately.
Several effects can cause a character’s physical and chronological age to desync. For example, a character frozen by a magic spell would continue aging chronologically but not physically. Similarly, a character who stops time with magic would continue aging physically, but not chronologically.
However the most common instance in which a character’s CCA and CPA will desync is if they are paying any variety of elf, whose physical age increases at twice the normal rate when away from their grove. If you are playing an elf, roll on the “Time Spent Away From Grove” table to determine the increase to your starting CPA
For example: Jhondolas is making a swamp elf and rolled 334 years, 5 months, 0 weeks, 9 days, and 2 hours for their age—simply expressed as 334:5:0:9:02. Then they roll on the “Time Spent Away From Grove” table and get 14 years, 7 months, 1 week, 3 days,.and 20 hours. Then they add that to the character’s Current Chronological Age to get their Current Physical Age. Giving the character a CCA of 334:5:0:9:02, and a CPA of 349:2:2:2:22. Then as long as the character is away from their grove, Gondolas will track two days for each day that passes in game. This is cumulative with other aging effects, so an elf who makes contact with a ghost will immediately age two hours instead of the usual one.
* A year in the world of Murdurfak is 400 days broken into 10 months of 4 10-day weeks. This more accurately reflects the type of calendar an average medieval person would have used, as they lacked the necessary knowledge of advanced mathematics required to understand modern calendars.

hii!! for your ask game may i request ichinene?
Of course! And despite liking these two together a lot, I shockingly have never put much thought into them and tickling, so this will be a good exercise for me. (That comes with the caveat that they might not be as in character as they would with more polishing)
And oh my gosh I am so sorry this took so long. Real shocker that I lost motivation for the thing that was supposed to help me with my lack of motivation /s
1. Who has the cutest tickle laugh?
As much as I adore Ichika, I have to give it to Nene here. It's just so squeaky and soft. Nene has a hard time being sweet or vurnerable as much as she would like (tbh they both do, Nene just has it worse), so getting to see her all giggly and carefree makes Ichika really happy.
2. Who is ticklish in unusual places and where would that be?
I don't HC Ichika to be overly ticklish, just about average in the normal spots, so I don't think she'd have many. (Ankles? Maybe? If that counts), so that goes to Nene by default. I think her arms would be decently sensitive.
3. Who gets cheer-up tickles?
Nene really hates being tickled when in a bad mood, so if she gets cheer up tickles, it has to be like an hour after being cheered up in other ways. Ichika, however, loves it. If she's anxious or overthinking, she loves how being tickled is a nice distraction and a good way to get her out of her head and back into the real world.
4. Who takes advantage of the other one getting their arms stuck while taking off their shirt?
Neither of them would I don't think? Near the start of their relationship, they'd both be too scared to either initiate it, or as they get more comfortable with each other, scared of vengeance. I will say that Ichika is the more playful one and leave it there.
5. How did they discover each other’s ticklishness?
Emu told on Nene and Nene got revenge. Ichika and Emu would be just casually talking when Saki invited both of them to lunch or after a WxS show and Emu, not thinking for a second that Nene might want this kept a secret, would just say something like "Hey, did you know your girlfriend is super duper ticklish?" and Ichika would just laugh it off, not doing anything about it for fear of making Nene uncomfortable. A little later into their relationship, they'd be up late cuddling and talking about everything under the sun when Ichika mentions Emu and asks if it's true with a playful smirk and fingers barely ghosting her belly. Nene turns bright red and gets all defensive while Ichika tickles a little more before. Having her answer, Ichika would stop, foolishly lowering her defenses for Nene to destroy her in retaliation.
(wow that one got long lmao)
6. Who can’t take tickle bites?
Nene. If Ichika already has her in a position where she can receive the bites, she is already too far gone past the point of fighting.
7. Who has to be tickle-forced out of bed in the morning?
Again, Nene. She stays up far too late playing games and is consequently very grouchy and stubborn in the morning. She pretends to hate Ichika's method of solving that problem.
8. Who gives up in a tickle fight?
Nene has both the disadvantage of being significantly more ticklish, and having significantly less endurance. She's stubborn but not enough to override her body's natural weakness to tickling.
9. Who is in danger of getting hurt when attacking the other?
Ichika. Nene is less of a squirmer, more of a fighter. Though that's only if you get her REALLY bad. She can't help it but if Ichika is scribbling at her ribs, or God forbid verbally teasing her, she will push and shove as much as she can. Ichika is immensely glad Nene lacks a whole lot of physical strength. On the rare occasion Ichika ends up falling off whatever couch/bed, Nene does feel pretty bad. The pushing is, however, easily stopped by having her waist straddled/otherwise being put at a difficult angle to push at.
10. Who always provokes the other into tickling them and how?
Nene doesn't ever really have the active desire to be tickled, it's nice when it happens of course but she doesn't usually crave it. In addition, she is incredibly easy to provoke. Ichika has mastered the art of provoking her girlfriend into tickling her without actually upsetting her. Her secret is that all she has to do is tickle Nene without making her too weak to get her back.

Princess Peach Showtime Demo
So! Just finished playing the demo! It’s a little off-brand for this blog, but it’s very clearly a game targeted at women/girls, and I am in that target demographic. I thought I should talk a little about it. Minor spoilers for the first 2 levels.
🎀💐🎀
So! First thing’s first: the game. I think, so far, it’s pretty good! I saw someone a little upset about how the game controls are simple… but I have a feeling that the costumes will work similar to captures in Mario Odyssey. It controls pretty well. The combat is very easy if you’ve played combat games before though. Some simple timing and the like. I knew to do certain things based on visual language (jump over shockwave), so that’s good! One thing I noticed was that it does not entirely hand hold. The first level’s ‘boss’ wasn’t given a flashing red weak point, and Stella (we’ll get to her!) doesn’t give hints on how to defeat it. Instead, it uses the game mechanics established in the lead up to the battle, and lets you apply them.
I do wish there was a tutorial for Patisserie Peach’s cookie game, as I didn’t know that I could time it to where it glows rainbow—I figured I could only let it rise until it shines, which made me only get 1/3 stars. That should’ve been taught in the warm-up batch.
🎀💐🎀
Next up, characters! There are two new ‘species’, the Sour Grape crew and Theets. Sour crew is fine, cute design. The THEETS? Oh my goodness. I love them. I simply love them. They’re so cute! I love that their noses express their emotions. I admit, I’m partial to using body colors to show emotion, but it’s so cute—there’s a mad Theet by the door in the lobby and he reminds me of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Of course, we also have our new side-kick, Stella. She’s cute! I think she’s got potential. I don’t think she’s on the same level as Origami King’s Olivia, but she’s small and cute. I wish she was the bow in Princess Peach’s outfit though. Or like, an accessory on the bow. And it would fit right in, since our princess normally uses a blue hair tie!
Princess Peach is… here. She feels like Y/N. Like Link, she doesn’t have lines on screen to show us what she’s saying, even if it’s clear she’s talking. But she does have some small voice lines. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the voice yet though.
🎀💐🎀
Last category, is it worth it? Worth your time, yeah, sure! It’s simple, and pretty easy (but those were just the first 2 levels so take this with a grain of salt), but it’s fun and feels full of charm (ily Theets). But is it worth the price? I can’t be so sure. Nintendo games are consistently priced at $60 USD (though Walmart often sells them for less), unless it’s a remake (then it’s usually a base price of $50 USD). The demo took me about 35 minutes. Watched all cutscenes, played first level, tried to get Star #3 in that level after beating it and failed, then played the second level. With 10 costumes, assuming there are separate little ‘worlds’ for each, that’s about 150 minutes for every single first level. We have no info on how many levels each ‘world’ has, but assuming a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10, that play time could be between 450 minutes and 1500 minutes. Take an even 5 level amount and that’s 750 minutes, or about 12.5 hours. But there may be more content! Who knows?
🎀💐🎀
So, my take. It’s cute, but I can’t say right now that it is worth that $60 USD price. I will be getting a job soon, and my birthday comes soon too, but I definitely won’t buy it until I see how long the average play-throughs are. I’m saving as much as I can for college, and if that means skipping on the game because there isn’t enough content, I think I’ll be okay. My advice is to play the demo, then see how you feel. And if you’re buying a Switch just to play this game—please wait!!! I made that mistake by buying a Switch for Animal Crossing…. Before it was delayed over 1.5 years. And then ended up not being my main source of fun. From one gamer to another, you’re essentially spending $360 for one game. Make sure it’s worth it first.
But, that’s all! Let me know what you all think about the game. Excited, disappointed, reconsidering buying, or reconsidering passing it up? I’d love to know <3

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you calculate screen time?
This should be covered in this ask. If that doesn’t answer your exact question, please feel free to ask for more clarification! However, please be specific about what you want to know or I’ll just redirect you back here.
When two characters have the same amount of time in an episode graphic, how do you decide who goes first?
I don’t decide! The secret is that the characters don’t actually have the same time - I round their times to the nearest 15s for neatness purposes, but I still know and have their exact times. The graphic is ordered in terms of largest exact time on the left, moving to smallest on the right - so even if two characters look like they had the same time, one of them had slightly more than the other!
Who do I take time for?
The main 7 characters, and the regulars.
Who are the regulars?
As of the start of season 6 - Karen, May, Harry, Josh, Christopher, Albert, Ravi and Lucy. I’ve chosen these characters as regulars for the reasons contained in this ask here. Michael and Dr David were previously considered regulars.
Why does the screen time not add up to 40-something minutes?
Think about it - are the 118 + Athena + Maddie on screen every single minute of every episode? No! Some of that time is devoted to the setup of the emergencies, some goes to the regulars, and some goes to reoccurring characters.
When do I post screen time?
Sometime before the next episode airs. I don’t have a specific day that I can collect the data, as my day-to-day hours at work vary, so I never know when I can get the information to make the graphics to post. If you would like me to tag you so that you see it for sure, please send me a message or an ask.
Why do you only post the times for the main characters every week and not the regulars too?
A couple of reasons - 1. It keeps a bit of mystery for when it comes time to post their totals at the end of the season. And 2. For a typical episode, we are lucky to have four regulars included. For s5, we had 10 that I was taking time for. So if I were to post their time every week, it would be an INCREDIBLY boring graphic, since there would only be one or two bars on it every week. And I don’t put whatever regulars do get time on the mains graphic bc any more than 8 bars starts to get a little crowded and the main (haha) point of this project is just to look at the 7 main characters and how they stack up. As stated more in depth below, I’m happy to tell you what time any regular got in any episode, I’m just not going to post it, you have to ask for it!
How much did (insert character name here) get in episode #x## or in season #?
If the character you are referring to is one of the regulars listed above, then I have that information and I am happy to share it! If the character is not, then I do not have that information on hand - and as such it is completely up to my discretion whether or not I get that information for you. Taking screen time just for the characters listed above and making the graphic takes up 4 to 5 hours of my week already, so my decision to get (or not get) time for a character I don’t normally will be up to a variety of factors - from my personal feelings on the character to my very impersonal but demanding work schedule (however it will never be due to my personal feelings on YOU - the point of this blog is to treat everyone equally regardless of my own personal feelings on you as a person).
Please feel free to ask for the time, but know that there is a good chance I will not get it for you.
Will you be posting overall series data?
No. I did that when I posted data on my personal blog, and I’m just not interested in discussing or hearing people’s opinions on the series data. I’ll keep posting overall season data, but that’s the extend of the data I’m going to be lumping together. Not to mention we’re at the point in the series where things are kind of stuck, bc the more data you put into an average calculation, the less each individual satay point affects the average, where no matter what the actual episodes look like. Where the screen time was in past episodes is the past. I’m much more interested to see where they focusing screen time NOW, so that’s what you’re getting from me!
Please, please, please feel free to ask questions about the screen time! (Besides the ones listed above lol!) I won’t give my personal opinions on how things shake out and if they’re good or bad, but I’m very happy to give you analysis answers!

Some Notes which relates to The Sims 2 from SIGGRAPH 2002 by Leo Hourvitz, Technical Art Director of The Sims 2
SIGGRAPH 2002 Trip Report
Leo Hourvitz, Maxis/EA
Summary
Another, great, exhausting year of SIGGRAPH! As with last year, the most important stuff ultimately had to do with the new programmable shading hardware and especially nVidia's Cg shading language. That will greatly impact the flexibility and creativity we can bring to surfaces as the hardware it's really targeted at (NV3x and the next generation of consoles) takes hold in the market. Overall, this was a slightly smaller show, but in a really nice city, and with a lot of excitement still around.
...
Electronic Arts Art/Tech Meeting
Henry LaBounta from EAC oraganized a about-half-hour meeting amongst art director, tech art directors, and a few render programmers on Thursday to talk about lighting issues across the company. We also touched on a lot of the process and management issues that all teams at Electronic Arts face; those concerns were fairly common across the company.
Unfortunately for Sims2, most of the discussions about environments are about kinds of pre-baked schemes that aren't very applicable to our user-built world. However, the discussions about character lighting are directly applicable, and at the moment the trend is strongly towards using irradiance or lightmap lighting for characters in the console titles. Irradiance has just been implemented for one of the PS2 titles in Vancouver; they reported that the performance is the same as 3 directional lightings + a spec pass.
Bent Normals
Something that could be very relevant to the Sims2. however, was a new idea for how to pre-bake objects in order to produce more surface details -- and it's independent of what light source scheme you eventually use. At each vertex (at each vertex/face if unshared), you shoot out a number of rays from the vertex and intersect them with the object. There are two results of the computation that are stored back into the *normal* at the vertex:
The normal is *shortened* by the percentage of the rays which intersected the object. This creates self-shadowing within the object because the L dot N calculation that lighting typically does will now have a smaller amplitude.
The normal's direction is warped towards the average of the surviving rays. That's because the surface really will only receive light from the surviving directions, and we want to prejudice the lighting calculation towards such normals (obviously, you now have to be careful about back-face culling).
Sometimes this technique does require that you introduce some extra polygons so there are vertices in the right places to have this technique affect them. However, it seems that right now spending a moderate number of extra polygons to get better shading would be a good adaptation to the hardware we'll be running on. This technique was introduced by ILM in their course on RenderMan, but seems to be relatively well-suited for real-time. In particular, the bond racing game has already implemented this idea for pre-calculating lighting effects on their cars.
...
Gaming as the Dominant Medium of the Future Panel
Way back last year at the December WWGC meeting at Maxis, we strategized about getting more EA content into SIGGRAPH, and one of the things we decided to do was put together a panel about the gaming industry. This panel was the result, and ended up having Bob Nicoll from EARS, J.C. Herz from the NY Times, Ken Perlin from NYU, Patrick Gilmore from DreamWorks, Will Wright, and Glenn Entis from EAC on it debating the truth or falsity of the title.
It was done as a cool panel format, where Ken Perlin moderated and immediately began accepting questions from the audience written on 3x5 cards. He arranged and selected from these cards, and peppered the panelists for opinions. He was very good at it, and it kept things lively.
One thing that became evident is that although few of the panelists really attacked the proposition as directly as we hoped -- mostly debating what it meant for a medium to be dominant -- it became clear that the audience who was writing the questions really did accept the proposition as true. This can only be good for EA's stock price.
I took extensive notes from this panel which I can send around under separate cover; here are a few good pull quotes.
"One of the ways to define dominance is, where are the best and the brightest going? There are a lot of shift we see in the cg industry, and we're losing jobs in some areas, we're gaining them in others, and we're seeing a lot of talent going into the games business, and that's one of the things you need to look at" -- J.C. Herz
"One programmer from a leading game company said to me, "We can market to 15-year-old boys really well, because we know how to make these fascinating environments where you meet new creatures under new circumstances, move around them, and kill them. What we don't know how to do is make these fascinating environments where you meet new creatures under new circumstances and make them feel really bad. When we can figure out how to do that, we'll get the other half of the market [women]." -- Ken Perlin
"We did a couple focus groups for SimCity and asked, "How would you feel if we had real businesses in the game, like McDonald's or Burger King?" and they said it would suck. In the next group, without mentioning this, we asked them what new features would be cool, and they said, "Oh, if we had businesses that were really in our city, like McDonald's and Burger King." That's why I don't trust focus groups." -- Will Wright
"Suppose Moore's law really goes on for another fifteen years, what's it all going to be like when we have ridiculously large computational resources and infinite bandwidth to create these interactive entertainment experiences with?" -- moderator
"To run evolution, to have this world that's a blank slate and I get to determine it's fate, and then get to go in and interact with it. To create a world with alien creatures in it, and go in and interact with it." -- Patrick Gilmore's answer to the question. Will showed no reaction at all...

The Smile [Jeff The Killer X Victim!Reader] [PART 2]
Jeff the killer X Victim!
WARNING: Yandere. That's it. Yandere.
I finally decided how I would write part 2 to The Smile, which is my first and most popular post on my account so far. Anyone new who has come to read this, check out my other posts as well if you'd like. I'll post more like this. I also have a Quotev account with more fanfictions.
9/12/20, 3/4 days after the top part: God, AFTER SO LONG, I FINALLY DID IT! Took me days! I'm so sorry if this is a bit lazy, it is a tiny bit rushed by the end but how would you guys feel about a detailed part 3? I'll probably go as far as a part 3 or part 4 for the final part.
The vibrations in your brain felt warm and numbing - almost like when you have a horrible migraine and you can finally feel it subsiding with your eyes closed and your fingers gently holding down onto your eyelids as if you're holding your eyes into place to prevent them from bursting out of your skull. Upon waking up you can feel cold air settling into your skin. You haven't been awake 3 minutes and you already know what you're resting on; an extremely uncomfortable metal table. You've only seen them in movies but this was real.
The sound of a singsong voice just slightly echoing through what seemed like a moderately empty room. You groaned softly as you turned your head to your right, very slowly opening your eyes. Your vision blurred in and out, which, you wanted to rub to clear it out but as you went to lift your wrists, you felt pressure around them.
Something was holding your arms down. This catches your attention, blinking multiple times while turning your head back up straight and attempting to sit up. You were hardly successful with that, struggling while grunting under your breath to pull your hands from under what seemed to be a thick rope. As you pulled harder, you sucked in your stomach out of habit before immediately coming to a halt and choking up in pain.
This whole time you were ignoring the voice that was singing eerily nearby, "You and me, always forever~"
The voice was of a male. Scratchy, shaky. Familiar.
Familiar.
You could feel a string of your heart pop out of place as your breath stopped. That's when you knew something was wrong, but it just doesn't add up. You gulp while your eyeballs vigorously glance around to see where the source was coming from, only to see a figure in a corner. It was doubled over and it was sitting down on a simple wooden chair. Doubling over a...table? An average male figure, nothing unique. Although, the clothing style was unusual. At least what was on the clothes. He wore a fluffy white hoodie and what seemed to be black pants and black-and-white converse. The problem wasn't the outfit, no. His hoodie was spotted and had patterns upon patterns of darkened and more fresh-looking blood splatter. He had long black hair down to his shoulders. And luckily, his back was facing you.
You were dumbfounded. How did you get here, why are you restrained, and why is there a blood covered man near you? Is that even blood? Maybe it's paint or a design? Some people do wear clothes that have different kinds of blood splatter designs on them. Hm. Or he's an actual murderer about to gut you like a fish.
You wanted to speak. You wanted to speak so badly but you just couldn't. As you parted your lips, your throat went dry while your gaze stayed locked onto the bloody male that sat before you. The singing made you shiver as you tried so hard to remember where you could have heard or seen him. Why can't you remember?
The male then turned around to look at you. His singing had come to a gentle halt. Your mouth closed as he did so, your throat going completely dry and your whole body feeling like an ice cube. You were greeted with cold blue eyes. They looked hungry and bloodthirsty, yet they held a warm affection as they looked into your traumatized eyes. It was almost comforting until you saw the rest of his face. His skin was snow white and his lips looked dry. That's when more attention is drawn to his lower jaw. He's smiling. Too big for a normal person.
That's when you realize. He has a large smile carved into his cheeks going from ear to ear while his own lips were curled within a smile as well. And that's when it hits you.
And it hits you hard.
The memories of hours prior start brutally crashing into you, flooding back into your numb brain. All of the realization replaced itself with agonizing anxiety, your heart starting to race at speeds that felt impossible. You could pass out, but something inside you kept you awake. Something about him and about this whole situation was making you dizzy. The male slowly stands and turns his body all the way to face you. He seemed deranged, yet, he had a very relaxed stance and body language.
Uncomfortable silence loomed in the air.
He kept staring at you before slowly taking steps forward. You watch him carefully as your head feels like it's spinning, which you could notice your vision blurring a little bit here and there. The silence is suddenly disturbed with the male speaking up again, choking up in giggles. "Oh my sweet Y/N, you're awake~" He cooed, now standing over you. He leaned himself down and reached his hand to your cheek, gently brushing your skin with his surprisingly soft thumb. He leaned his face closer to yours. The smell of booze, blood, & smoke overwhelmed your nostrils. Yet it didn't seem to bother you that much.
His touch almost kind of made you feel...at ease. Your heart slowed itself and your breathing went back to pace. You felt fine, somewhat, but something in your stomach was still sore. The more you stare at him, the more memories come flooding back. The more memories flooding back, the easier you fit the puzzles together.
"M-my...stomach..--" You stutter out painfully.
In response to this, the male turned his head over to your abdomen and gently rested his other hand onto your bandaged stomach, applying very gentle pressure on it as to not hurt you. It was still slightly painful, causing you to groan under your breath.
"Oh, this...I'm sorry, my sweet butterfly. I had to make sure you wouldn't get away, and you didn't! Don't worry, Jack patched you up, so you'll be just fine!"
You remember now. You remember it all. The chase, your friend, the salty kiss before what you thought was your demise.
You naturally wondered as well; who's Jack?
"Wh-.." You weakly force air out of your throat again to speak, "why am I..tied-?"
"Oh, so you wouldn't be able to get away. I knew you would run away, or struggles, so I had to make sure you wouldn't do that!"
He was right. You would run away and struggle to get out of whatever the hell kind of place you're in. Well, knowing what he looks like. He DID stab you, after all. Who knows what this sicko wants.
He lifts his hand from your stomach and turns back to you, gently placing both of his hands at each side of your face. "You're so beautiful, Y/N. So sweet and so innocent. I couldn't keep letting the others eat you up like candy. You're mine and only mine. I need to protect you."
"Wh-who- are you?" You weren't really all too scared for some strange reason now. You were pretty calm. Probably from all of the energy this is draining.
"His name is Jeff." A deep and gruff voice cuts in.
The both of you turn your heads to the door of the room where a tall figure in all black stood. He was about 6"4 wearing heavy boots, black jeans, and a black hoodie. His hair was a dark brown though while he wore a mask. The mask was a dark blue with black goo oozing from the eyesockets. He was pretty intimidating even just by standing idly like a character waiting to be loaded in.
"And I'm Jack." He continued, "I'm the one who took care of your wound."
Jack stepped closer, soon standing at the other side of the table. He stood at the left as Jeff stood at the right.
"He wouldn't stop insisting I help."
You just blink, unknowing of what to respond with. He pursed his lips under his dark mask, in his own thought for a moment while staring down at you. You seemed calm enough, and your still pretty fresh injury was gonna hold you back anyway.
"[P]-[Pronoun]'s gonna-!" He attempts to blurt out, only to be stopped by you.
"I won't."
You were untied at your wrists and ankles, allowing yourself to pull your legs up and rest your feet at the top of the table, propping your knees up. It made your stomach feel weird, but it felt kind of nose and felt like it was easing the pain. You wrapped your arms around your knees, looking around the room more. "What is this place?" You ask.
"It's a medical room."
"Huh.." You shrug it off. Your anxiety levels had died down and the more you actually think about it, this isn't the worst thing that's happened. Your life has been pretty fucked up and you have damaged relationships everywhere. Honestly, being around new people and being far away from others sounds not too bad right now. Not like anyone would care anyway.
The next few hours, you're introduced to everyone else at the Mansion. They've been so...unique and honestly, you're surprised some people and beings like them even exist. They were all equally surprised with how little fear you showed.
You actually got along with most of them.
The others have taken a liking to you and hope you hang around longer. Alone in the living room, you, Jeff, Jack, and others sit at the couches and chairs in the living room, chatting away and getting to know them as they get to know you.
You feel Jeff wrap his arms around you and place a gentle kiss on your forehead, making your heart skip a beat.
You found out Jeff has been stalking you for months at a time. Watching your every move, eliminating anyone in the way. Huh, no wonder so many people in your life kept disappearing. You...couldn't bring yourself to be upset or scared, let alone even sad. You felt kind of at ease.
And far from uncomfortable. Someone loved you. Maybe more than they should, but they love you.
You didn't even feel upset at the fact Jeff had murdered that friend earlier. I mean, you just met the guy, so he wasn't even a 'friend'? So you paid no mind to it.
If anything, you really liked the thrill of someone being obsessed with you. A serial killer being so infatuated with you. He could be so protective of you and get rid of anyone you asked him to! There's is an advantage here. You knew he could snap and probably kill you intentionally or unintentionally, but you didn't mind. You really had no one else, technically speaking. No one that really cared. Not as much as he did.
Maybe he isn't so bad.

Apritello Express Evidences, part 2
Khem-khem, ladies and gentlemen, we shall continue out praising Apritello's episodes. And yeah, this part will be dedicated, in entirety just one episode.
Purple jacket. April and Donnie's episode.
I really love this piece of masterpiece, because it show April and Dee relationship, better reveals them as characters, and demonstrates their connection. (My previous points at this whole situation)
The episode begins with Donnie sneaking into April's school under the pretext of helping her. Soon, April stated the reason why she called D - her science computer project. Actually, she could take a photo of the code and sent it to Donatello, and I'm sure, he would send her the correct one right away, he's coder, he's prodigy, no probbles.
But still, April just asked him to come over and help her without stating any reasons. And he, indeed, came at speed of the light.
I want you to understand what exactly does that mean.
First: April is aware how much Donnie is into human culture. He wants to study in normal human school, do some average teen stuff. Especially, he is loving school and science-related stuff, all these science school projects, visits to botanical gardens, experiments and laboratory work. Because it's his field. It's exactly his domain, where he's good at. His family does not share his interest in science, and April is only one who can understand him. Probably.
Also, April know, how badly Donnie wants to go to school, which gives him an excuse, even if not the most solid one, but an excuse, nevertheless, to visit her school again.
Why again?
Because he has no problem navigating there. Donnie went directly to April's computer class.
He loves this place. And he'd already helped April with her projects.
Tumblr media
Even so, knowing that every time she asked guys, especially Don, for help, it turned into a cataclysm, April still called him to help.
It's just a weird, indirect way to say, " Let's hang out, I know how much you like this whole situation with science, school and etc. Here ya go, buddy"
It seems like April did that to make something pleasant to him, something small, but nice to make him feel better. Because, as I state before - he likes to help April (praise, doing something useful for April - still counts as a motivation) and he likes school.
Second: khem-khem, D came at her school, as it seems, right away she called/texted. He didn't even know the proper reason, but c'mon: April ask for help, plus, her school. Sounds legit, don't you think?
Anyway, April has always been being the reason and excuse for teetles, but especially for Donnie. Clear? Clear. Good.
Tumblr media
Donnie also tends to not think things through when he is excited. Because he went at the daylight in place, full of people just to help April.
ROTTMNT shows us how turtles were really afraid of human reaction and possible consequences. They have plan "H" to pretend they are going to Galaxy Con, brothers have explanation why they look weird and it's definitely not because boys are mutants, uh-huh, no, plus, guys go on surface at evening or night hours, when there are not so many people, and it's dark, obviously, to cover them and keep unseen.
Yeah, of course, Donnie seems more capable then his brothers to handle the surface (he has cash, D's dressed up as old ladies more than once, according to Leo, he was in April's school before, so yeah, no big deal) and I suspect that his friendship with April is one of the reasons.
Third: do you remember how April worried about looking "normal" when she was finally invited to a school party? She even forbade Mayham to appear nearby, just not to look like the lizard boy. Because cool kids don't bring pets to school. April doesn't have many friends, or rather, there are none at school, and she's been trying to solve this problem by getting close to Taylor Martin, the coolest girl in school.
And April O'Neil just calls Donatello, an objectively strange guy (since when is it normal to be a fan of school? Pretty questionable) in place, where her reputation is hanging in a balance. Our girl does not try to hide Dee, as it usually shown in shows for kids, and April do not pretend that she sees him for the first time in her life because, you know, Donnie will catch everyone's attention being himself and may embarrass her in front of her classmates. But no - April says with all her actions: "Yes, I know him. Yes, that dork is with me. And I don't give a damn about your opinion. Your problems, not mine. And yeah, I'm fine with him being here."
I mean it, guys. The devil is always in the tiny details.
The way they behave around each other.
Donatello is way more, MORE relaxed and just being himself: dramatic dorky nerdy ninja with current obsessions. The way he sneaked in school and April's classroom, the way he behaves alone with her is contrasting the way of his attitude while his brothers are near.
Don has a specific way to shown up. Instead of texting her, Donnie used shurekens. Yes, he almost fell off the lamp, but still, that's... quite an entrance he makes there.
April worries about him, when he fell from ceiling.
Our girl feel relaxed enough around Donnie, so she winks at him.
Tumblr media
A wink is a fairly casual gesture that shows some expression of sympathy, trust, and togetherness. It's both good for saying "We're in same boat, we're team" and show the playful attitude towards someone. Isn't that an indicator?
Ironically, that being the best friends April and Donnie do not have any secret handshake/brofist/special greeting, as it usually the besties have at kid's series. Like Kendra and Jeremy have.
I can do only one possible logical conclusion: their relationship is far beyond "friends," "best friends," and "family".
Btw, about this certain phrase about secret five.
- Nay, fair April. A secret five[...].
Once again, nice wording, Donatello. Fair April? Maybe I'm too critical, but often when someone wants to convince their interlocutor and at the same time show one's condescension to them, it's usually uses "my dear ..." or something like that. I understand that semantically the difference is not very big, but in the first case, you can feel Donnie's personal attitude, even though he uses a book word. The second is just formal politeness, which emphasizes the difference between the rightness of the disputants.
This phrase were interpreted on official Russian dub as (okay, it's really hard to choose the correct word, because there's a lot of synonyms in English that sits quite well, while on Russian it's just one word, damn) "Нет, милая (No, honey/sweetheart )". Actually, a strange choice of wording, 'cause this is not what usually friends use to say to each other. We prefer use words like " my darling", "my dear", to demonstrate leniency. And again, most often this prerogative belongs to the older generation. Russians rarely throw around such words as "honey", "dear", "sunshine", because this deprives these endearments of any meaning, and a person using them, as a rule, is familiar. Of course, there are people who use them on a regular basis, but I HIGHLY doubt that Donatello is one of them. It's not his style.
But still, maybe I just too critical at this point.
April, as it is shown, have some kind of power to cool and calm him down and bring Donnie back to life reality.
1. Don awakes from his daze while heard April's voice
2. He's literally coming back to life, when April said about his broken jetpack.
3. Dee obediently interrupts his touching farewell to the jacket when April yells at him.
Tumblr media
Oh, and his face. I remind you, fellas, we're talking about Donatello, "I really do not like to express emotions"-guy and "I will die if someone broke my bAbEyS"-guy.
And what do we see? Donnie's emoting. And feels free to do that. He's even drooling. (What seems kinda interesting without context, if you're understand what I'm talking about ;))
Dee doesn't seem angry about broken jetpack. And his wide smile, while he's assuring April he can fix it? A few minutes ago, he was steamed when his stuff was stolen, but when the jetpack was broken, he doesn't even raise an eyebrow. Very eloquent.
April is his support
April also supports Donnie whatever he's up to. Yes, she hadn't been excited when Othello had expressed a desire to join the club. However, she also introduced him to Kendra and company. Yes, she showed by her whole appearance that she did not share his joy, but nevertheless, our loyal captain O'Neil was there for him, by his side all this time.
Tumblr media
And her sweet facial expression. From "Srsly? Join this jerks?" to "If you dare to even think about to hurt him, I'll smash you".
And one more cute detail about Dee. Even if he does whatever he wanted so badly, Don constantly looks around at April, looking for her approval.
- Be honest, April, do I look fantastic, or SUPERBLY fantastic?
- You look like you drop a juice box in a laundry. (Play nice, April, don't be mean)
He cherishes her opinion.
April had even called him late at night just to, technically speaking, say that his tech were stolen. And what's the big deal with all his outfit? It's late night, they can just sneak out into Nakamura in their usual form. But noooo, April give a special ride on her bicycle. Just. You know. Our girl carried her own weight and his all the way without stopping. And then she went up 53 + floors running non-stop because Donnie's equipment was stolen. And then she had to chase the her classmates, dodge and jump out of the window. Because Purple dragons stole Dee's tech. Like shooting fish in a barrel, no big deal at all.
And it's definitely not because he will be totally crashed or he'll do stupid things during his anger, which will then come out sideways.
And April comes along with him to very end.
By the way, their phone conversations.
Donnie is the very case when "Call at any time of the day or night and I will pick up the phone".
When April called him when he needs D's help with Albearto, when something is definitely going on behind.
As it says in transcript of the episode:
[April takes out her phone, scrolls to Donnie’s listing and calls him. Donatello appears on screen. Behind him a flying microwave wearing boxing gloves shoots lasers at his brothers.]
Don: "You are conversing with Donatello."
April
[Crouched on floor in hiding.]
Dude, I need your help."
Don: "For you, anything. As long as it does not involve bees, or spiders, or beach balls.
[There’s an explosion behind him and his brothers cry out, which he ignores.]
And yeah, he took her incoming immediately, he ignores absolutely and totally everything around him, because... April? Expositions, bloody flying microwave bot turned to destroy mode, his brothers screaming and being in life-threatening situation? Naaah, it can wait.
Donatello was at Todd's, building "the puppiest place on Earth" and was very enthusiastic about to finish this thing. But he paused anyway to answer April.
We already know how obsessive with work Don can be: if something interesting gets into his field of view, he begins to do it all day long. Remember "The Purple Game" - a very revealing case. Yeah, we weren't shown how much Donnie is into engineering, but I can guess that point remains the same.
April called him at late night and Donnie picked up the phone.
April, unlike Donatello, is a teenager who is burdened with social relationship such as family, school, and work periodically, which implies a more or less strict schedule to follow and some conventions, such as " April, you can't go out late at night to catch robbers, you are underage and you have to go to school/work tomorrow). However, she was watching the news late at night, so she called Dee. ( I have a lot of questions, but I'll never get answers, as it seems)
D, in turn, doesn't have so many contacts with the outside world. I highly doubt that anyone else outside of the family and April has his number. And yet, when he hears the call late at night he takes it. Yes, he had awaken from the nightmare, but still.
And what's up with his usual "You're conversing with Donatello"? He didn't even understand what's going on, as it seems, he's too sleepy to play his usual image and playfully attitude as we could see in "Hypno Part Deux" and "War and Pizza".
Adorable couple-like D&A arguing
April very rarely uses "I told you so" against anybody, or rather, this is almost the only case. This phrase is more suitable for Leo or Donnie, and you know," I told you so! " we usually use on people we know well, and we want to tease 'em about them being wrong. Which, in fact, once again highlights and proves how close D&A are. And I don't even get started about the fact that this is more like a couple's quarrel, not a friend's.
Tumblr media
And one more time - in the end, when April suggests using the jacket to stop Kendra.
Their teamwork
I stated that before, I'll tell it one more and more times. The chemistry of their team interaction is incredible. It's as if they can feel each other, and each knows what the other is capable of doing in the next moment. April easily adapts to Donnie's attack, realizing his plan.
Tumblr media
Donnie also throws them both out of the window in order to continue the pursuiting Kendra on the jetpack. Don is one hundred percent sure of April, that she will understand what he wants to do, Dee trusts her with his life without hesitation, and she has never used his jetpack. He just puts her before the fact: April will be using the tech.
Up for Donnie!
I really like how this scene was made. Donatello struggles with his own tech, somewhat he made by himself, having invested almost whole himself and his soul, but what "betrayed" him in end. When Dee finally managed to shake one of his battleshell, which almost choked him, Donnie feel so scared and unsecured. We can see his anxiety - Dee's coaching position with covering his head with his hands and tucking his knees.
Defenseless, helpless, and mostly lost, and then, just in time - hero comes to save his life. She uses Donnie's name as battlecry, look how furious she is.
Funny fact: on Russian dub April yells "Don't touch Donnie! (how dare you, madafaka)
Tumblr media
April fits in Donnie's type of girls. She's cute (obvious) and mean (not so obvious).
I can't say that meanness is the main feature of April's character, as we can say about Kendra. But this personality trait is still present in her and sometimes it does not manifest itself so widely. April's meanness is not so pronounced, it is much softer and smoother, and it is not exposed.
But April becomes really mean when someone messes up with Donnie.
She's his support and prop. Literally. Just look at first frame, okay-okay, jokes aside
Tumblr media
She's genuinely enjoying of kicking bad guys ' asses, even letting go of witticisms and barbs.
Last scenes
Don survived a rough night: he was used, his tech was stolen, so he and April had to chase the satin robed punks. Donnie was hit in the head with a hammer, he fell from a bird's-eye view, passed out and then his battleshell tried to strangle him. And April is here to comfort him, to cheer him up.
Yes, we don't get any hugs (because it's kids show, bleh), the tactility is kept to a minimum, except for April's comforting hand on his shoulder, but they don't even look at each other. But the softness of her voice, the intonation with which she utters a phrase (that is usually sent to the friend zone, but "pal" is really neutral word, and the most important how she said that) turn the scene upside down. It is not what April did to comfort him matter, it's how she did this.
I said "yes" to you way too often
April mirrors Donnie with his "Anything for you". Yes, of course, she said this with a certain amount of grumbling, but her voice and her demeanor suggest otherwise - she is not at all averse to going to giving in him.
And the way they're look at each other.
This one
Tumblr media
And one more detail
It's really tiny, it's hard to catch from the first watching the episode, but still, it's possible. I'm talking about graffiti on the walls of the alley where April and Don had landed.
This one
Yeah, if we speak about reality it's quite normal to see graffiti like this. But we talking about TV-series, where everything has its own place and meaning. And if there something, it must be there, it's not just whim of artist who put it in there. But this little graffiti changes the mood of scene.

your thoughts on comedy being a humanizing factor for non-comedic characters were perfectly on the nose! do you have any tips on how best to do this? sorry to bother, I just think it's very interesting!
So one of the fundamental differences between comedy and drama is that comedy thrives when a character does not have the required tools in order to smoothly succeed at what they want to do. These tools can include social skills.
In a drama, when the lovers are reunited after many trials and stare deeply into each other's eyes, there's an assumption that a lot of invisible tools are at their disposal: like that they smell nice, and look pretty, and know what to do to sweep the other person off their feet and are, in fact, such a good kisser that they don't need to worry about whether or not they're a good kisser.
In a comedy, your character is allowed to not have all those tools. That is also closer to real life. So my breakdown for how to make sure your dramatic character is closer to realism is to use comedy tools to bring them closer to the "normal person" baseline, which means examining the tools you may have unconsciously given to navigate the plot with and asking "What if they didn't have this tool?" Or:
1) In a given scene, ask what you would do, honestly, if you were in the character's shoes.
2) Think about what tools the character has that you don't that would make them act differently than you would (with an eye for making their response more interesting than a normal person's would be, funnier or cooler or tougher, etc).
3) See if you can take any of those tools away to make them more realistic or to add more entertaining obstacles, and if so, how would their response change?
4) Write out what your character is thinking now that they don't have those tools, in their voice.
Now for an example: The hero is going to meet the king. In draft 1, he sweeps into the room, bows, and proudly announces that he has slain the dragon the king wanted dead. The king is impressed, the plot moves forward.
Step 1: What would you do? Probably be a bit nervous, if you were meeting the king for the first time. You might ask a guard if you have anything in your teeth or on your shirt. Double-check the proper way to address a king (or not, if you're anti-monarchy which is already a more complex and interesting baseline for the scene). Worry about how long you're supposed to talk. Maybe get annoyed if the line is long and you're standing around waiting and now your feet hurt. If you have an injury or any chronic pain (already a more complex/realistic situation) you might start getting irritable as time drags on. Perhaps you'd get more irritated if the king isn't all that interested in what you have to say, or dismisses you immediately after the introduction, even after you waited for hours because the dragon was just one of his many problems, or he has a party he wants to go to after this. Even if you are the hero he's been waiting to meet, and you do get his undivided attention, you can ask yourself if you would be all that impressed by this king or think he's shorter than you expected, or wonder why the heck he's in charge if you just killed a dragon and maybe unless he's a warrior king with a lot of accomplishments, you're not terribly impressed by a hereditary monarch who just sits around all day.
All the above ramblings are going on the assumption of absent tools. You lack social graces, or bodily comfort, or knowledge of protocol, or patience. These are normal tools not to have. Maybe your character doesn't have them too.
Step 2: Adjust for your character, with an eye for making sure their response is more interesting than the average person. Maybe your character isn't worried about how to address the king because the king is his uncle. He knows all the protocols, he just chooses to ignore them, waltzes in and says, "Hey Uncle William, I killed that dragon for you, pay up." That adds the tool of knowledge or familiarity.
Step 3: Take some tools away. Your hero may be a skilled dragon slayer and be the nephew of the king, but he may still lack the tool of total mastery of the room. There might be people who are mad at him for being so casual, or for showing up unannounced, rather than charmed. We like characters who fail, in general, more than we like characters who effortlessly accomplish everything they set out to do and then some.
Paradoxically, we prefer characters who are competent in a skill set, not just bumbling incompetents who fail at everything. Where's the line there? I have no idea, it's a balancing act, but a character with no skills is much more frustrating to watch than a character with a few highly trained skills who nevertheless fails in situations where a normal person would also fail, and who knows they failed. See: the highly competent dragon slayer, nephew of the king, who tries to be cool and debonair when announcing his victory, only to piss off the whole room by showing up unannounced and realizing he fucked up in what should have been a moment of triumph. He still gets his reward but socially, he's now in the doghouse, which mitigates his victory and is already a more interesting, complex story.
Step 4: Write out the character's inner monologue in their voice for your own reference. Maybe it's just a few lines of "Hey, why did everyone go quiet, I thought there'd be cheering... oh shit." Maybe it makes it into the body of the story. Maybe it just helps you. But already, I hope, this is a useful example for how to bring an otherwise boring scene of a successful hero being successful at a cliche thing and makes it into a more complex one that shows us what the character is made of through his failures in a way that makes the story more fun and interesting.

Going Through My Movies Part 5: Burning (2018)
Tumblr media
What. The. Fuck. Did I just watch?
Tumblr media
Anyways I also watched High Diving Hare. Rather than showing off one joke and just building and expanding on it like our last short, this is more so concerned about how many different ways you can do one gag, in this case Bugs tricking Yosemite Sam to jump off the high dive into the bucket of water. And credit to them they do that gag in everyway possible. I will say it loses a little bit of the magic when the punchline is never unexpected, but this was still very fun.
Tumblr media
You could say this movie is a slow burn
ba dum tish
In a way Burning is a movie about nothing. It's hard to argue that any of the characters go through big dramatic changes through an arc, the most you could argue is that things they repress are brought to the surface.
Even though again not much really happens in this 2 and a half hour movie, let me try and give you the premise anyways. Lee Jong-su is a loser. He has no friends, no girlfriend, he hasn't seen his mother and sister in many years, and his father is on trial for assault. He has no direction in his life. He wants to be a writer but he fails to think of any ideas for his book (Despite people around him suggesting that he base a book on other people in his life). He reunites with a girl he knew when he was younger Shin Hae-mi, and they start a kind of relationship before she goes on vacation to Africa. When she returns she has become friends with a man named Ben, a mysterious stranger whom both Jong-su and the audience get bad vibes from. While Jong-su becomes jealous of Ben and Hae-mi's relationship, we get a deeper insight into all 3 of their psyches, although Ben likes to keep his secrets, he eventually reveals to Jong-su that he likes to burn down greenhouses for fun, and he plans to do it again soon nearby. Soon after Hae-mi disappears and Jong-su becomes more obsessed with Ben.
Tumblr media
Okay, I think I explained it well enough. That wasn't just for your sake mind you, I wanted to get it all straight in my head too. The world of Burning is very slow and very unremarkable. Jong-su desperately wants anything to shake up his life. He thinks Hae-mi is that thing. Some people have accused her of being a manic pixie dream girl which is incredibly dumb and comes from a fundamental misunderstanding of the movie. Hae-mi is only a manic pixie dream girl in Jong-su's mind. In reality, she's a completely normal average person with flaws like the rest of us. Burning is a reflection on the type of masculinity that makes men create manic pixie dream girls (God I hate that term) in their minds.
Steven Yeun as Ben is fantastic in this movie. I loved him in Invincible and he's quite good in one of my favourite films of all time, Sorry to Bother You. In both of those, he's a nice well-meaning, if flawed guy, but here he goes full American Psycho. He's a guy where if you just met him once or twice you probably wouldn't think anything is off, hell you'd probably like him, but IF he lets you pull back the layers you come to realize how screwed up he really is. Not in a Jeffrey Dahmer way, much more subtly than that. Steven Yeun carries it all, it would not work at all without his performance.
Burning is a psychological drama where the audience themselves are the ones who have to work to delve into the character's psyche. I have no doubt that behind the scenes there are dozens of reference pages thoroughly explaining each character, but the movie will never directly show you any of it. It's not so much about the characters, but rather the idea of the characters that we have in our minds and that's really interesting.
On top of all of that, this movie is also shot absolutely gorgeously. Excellent use of colour; it knows exactly when to heighten things with the cinematography and when to keep them grounded. The soundtrack ain't too bad either.
Tumblr media
Burning is a movie that thrives in it's ambiguity. The mystery of everyday life, even if that mystery is manufactured. In a way it's about the quiet tragedy of day to day life, how humans won't ever be satisfied. It's not quite like anything I've seen before, it makes me want to go check out Lee Chang-dong's other films, I know Secret Sunshine has a Criterion so I'll have to pick it up in the next sale.
Really enjoyed this one. I gave it an 8/10, closer to a 9 than a 7. I know after all that glowing praise you might expect a 10/10, but I think in some ways the elements here I do like could be expanded upon to fill up the negative space of the story. I get why there's some repetition in this movie but I think they could present it in a better way.
Next up in my collection is The Cranes Are Flying by Mikhail Kalatozov. A movie I know very little about but have heard it is really great.
See ya when I see ya.

Owen Strand Screen Time Meta Post
Welcome to the first in a series of posts analyzing the screen time of characters post season 2 of 911 Lone Star. I thought this idea would be more interesting, and efficient, than trying to put all of my thoughts for every character, and the entire season into one post.
First up is Owen because he’s the highest billed character and because when I put out a poll, he was the only character no one wanted to see first. So let’s dive in!
Read my analysis below the cut:
Season 1
I’ll be honest, when I started calculating the screen time I had no idea how much of an impact Owen’s time would have on the fandom. I really don’t recall there being that much discourse over it until I posted the results... and it didn’t really bother me before I saw the numbers? But after I did that first episode I was like oh..... yeah that’s a problem.
At least that pilot episode was the most screen time he’s gotten, though I’m willing to bet that will change with season 3′s “Owen Begins.” I mean in a way, the pilot episode was his begins episode (or could even be considered “Begins Again” like what they did with Bobby on 911) since it was about him packing up and starting a new life as captain of the 126. Essentially, the pilot episode served to set up that this would be Owen’s show.
The other episode where he took up a larger chunk of the screen time was 1x06 (”Friends Like These”) which makes sense because it was exploring his friendship with Billy... little did we know how important that would be later.
Most of his screen time in season 1 was concentrated around 8-10 minutes. Obviously that is the most screen time given to a character on the show, which makes sense since the show and the character was written for him and he hold the executive producer title.
The least amount of screen time he got was around 7.5 minutes in 1x03 (”Texas Proud”) and 1x08 (”Monster Inside”). I do find that especially interesting since those are still episodes where he played an important role in the plot, compared to other characters whose least amount of screen time meant they were lucky if they spoke one line. It’s also worth noting in 1x03, Owen still had the most screen time (though Michelle was a close second) and in 1x08, Michelle did beat him by a few minutes.
Season 2
We really went into season 2 with higher hopes, though it wasn’t much better (I would argue there was some improvement... but I’ll talk about that more later).
It says a lot that Owen’s top 3 episodes are 2x10, 2x11, and 2x12. Though he didn’t beat his previous record of over 20 minutes, he got nearly 15 minutes in 2x11 (”Slow Burn”)... which if you didn’t already know, is also the episode that was written by his son, John Owen Lowe, and directed by his brother, Chad Lowe. He also got around 12 minutes in the two episodes that buffer that one, 2x10 (“A Little Help From My Friends”) and 2x12 (”The Big Heat”). This three episode arc accounts for about 32% of his screen time this season.
Before that major arc in 2B, in the first half of season 2 his big episodes fell around 10 minutes each; 10:45 in 2x07 (”Displaced”), 10:00 in 2x03 (”Hold the Line”, the crossover), and 9:45 in 2x01 (”Back in the Saddle”)*
A big difference for this season compared to season 1 was that there were episodes where he did not get as much screen time. Whereas his least screen time was 7:30 last season, this season there were four episodes that were lower than that; 7:15 in 2x06 (“Everyone and Their Brother”), 6:00 in 2x13 (”One Day”), 5:30 in 2x02 (”2100°”), and of course, a mere 1:00 in 2x09 (“Saving Grace”). That is really the only episode where Owen has completely stepped aside, playing a very minor role in the overall plot. In 2x02, 2x06, and 2x13, Owen came in second behind Tommy (in x02 and x13) and Paul (in x06). And in 2x09, he came in fourth (the only time thus far he was not in the top 3) behind Judd, Grace, and Tommy.
(*I’ve mentioned the new method I’ve been using to calculate screen time on a few occasions now and I’ve only revisited 2x01 so far (almost done 2x02 tho) anyway, I’m using the data I collected using the old method for these posts but in an effort to be totally upfront about how the new method is going, Owen’s screen time for 2x01 is actually about 30 seconds higher than I originally calculated, coming it at 10:15 instead of 9:45. Not much of a difference, and idk how much the rest of the new method results will impact this meta post, but I wanted to be clear about it).
Total Screen Time
As the infographic above states, his total screen time for the two seasons comes in at nearly 3 hours and 45 minutes. Divided in half, thats around 112 minutes per season, which does fall in line with the totals for each season (103.25 minutes for season 1, 120.5 minutes for season 2). However, there was only 10 episodes in season 1, compared to the 14 we saw in season 2. With that in mind, you can begin to see how season 2 was actually a smidge better than season 1 when it came to how much screen time was given to Owen. But the real indicator is the averages, which is discussed next.
Average Screen Time
As you can see in the infographic, Owen’s average screen time in season 1 was around 10:15 and dropped to 8:30 in season 2. The series screen time (which is the total divided by 24, not those two totals divided by 2) comes in at about 9:15.
Obviously, even 8.5 minutes is still a huge amount of screen time. But compared to over 10 minutes in season 1, his average screen time is seeing a clear downward trend. I would take this as a win. It’s a small change, but it’s an indication that we are heading towards a day where Owen doesn’t eat up the majority of the screen time each episode.
Outliers
The idea of outlier episodes wasn’t even something I considered until a few weeks ago. This would be an episode where the screen time total was either much higher, or much lower than what is normally seen for that character.
According to my calculations, in season 1 the pilot episode at 20:45 is an outlier for Owen. In season 2, 2x09 (”Saving Grace”) is also an outlier at 1:00. And looking at the data set for all the episodes in series, both numbers (20:45 and 1:00) are outliers. (Outliers change based on the data set, so we need to look at each data set (season 1, season 2, and series) individually and not assume that an outlier for one season would also be an outlier for the series).
What happens when you remove the outliers?
That brings us to the above question. Is Owen’s 20+ minutes in the first episode the reason why his time is so high in season 1? Is his 1 minute in 2x09 bringing down his time in season 2? And what about the series?
I’m not sure if it’s worth examining how the totals are affected since that’s pretty self-explanatory. Obviously all the totals will go down if you take out the outlier episodes. But where it makes a difference as far as we’re concerned is the averages.
Obviously the average number is how much you should expect to see that character during an episode. But if 20 minutes is much higher than normal, and 1 minute is much lower than normal, then what happens when you take out those numbers? Well, something actually fairly interesting happens, that almost contradicts what I said before about the progress...
When you remove the pilot episode from the data set for season 1, the average comes to around 9:15. When you remove 2x09 from the data set for season 2, the average comes to around 9:15. When you remove both episodes from the series data set the average comes to (you guessed it) 9:15.
9:15 is more indicative of what to expect for Owen’s screen time in an average episode, and since it hasn’t changed that says a lot about the progress we’ve seen for screen time distribution.
Now as for what to do with this? Honestly, I have no idea. I mean the fact is that while these episodes are outliers, they did still happen. There is an episode where Owen only had about a minute of screen time; just like there’s an episode where he got over 20 minutes. Outliers are weird because I don’t want to not acknowledge them, and I think it’s important to look at when studying the screen time as a whole. But as for the reported numbers, we can stick with what is laid out in the infographic.
Closing Thoughts
It’s hard to say whether this season saw less Owen, or about the same. Of course when taking all episodes into account, it is less. But when you remove the outlier one minute episode, it’s really not that much better. But then again, the fact that we did get an episode where he was only on screen for a minute is a very good sign, so taking it out of the data set doesn’t exactly make sense.
I guess the biggest takeaway still is that Owen still has a lot. He always will. Even if he did have less this season, it’s still much more than the characters who come in second and third had. I like to think it will get better, and maybe it will, but personally I’ve accepted that Owen will always have the most, and he will have much more than other characters, but it shouldn’t be as much as it is. Hopefully his screen time will continue to trend down and allow for more time to explore the other characters on the show.

Fate and Phantasms #192
Tumblr media
Today on Fate and Phantasms we're building the enchanting Caster of Okeanos, which despite her name doesn't actually show up in Okeanos, but rather the fourth pseudosingularity, Salem. She's also one of the last servants in the game (so far) to have her true name hidden, so pretty soon I can stop pointing out how her character build below the cut has true name spoilers. Specifically, this build also includes spoilers for the Salem pseudosingularity, so read at your own peril.
If you'd rather just check out her character sheet, you can find that over here.
Next up: The equal to the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, so just, equal to heaven, I guess.
Circe is a Transmutation Wizard, because she is a witch, and Transmutation is where they stuck polymorph.
Race and Background
Like her protege, Circe is an Elf, but if we want kindasorta falcon wings, that might be tricky. Just kidding, for some reason WotC thought winged elves were a priority, so we got Avariel Elves from an unearthed arcana. This means you only get +2 to a single stat, but we can make that Intelligence thanks to Tasha's for a brain blast. Your subrace gives you 30' of flying speed as long as you don't wear medium or heavy armor (not an issue), as well as the standard elf kit: Darkvision, Fey Ancestry to protect against charms, Trances instead of sleep, and proficiency in Perception thanks to your Keen Senses.
Circe lives on her island alone (if you don't count pigs) so that makes her a Hermit, privy to the secrets of the universe as well as Medicine and replacing the other proficiency (which we'll get back as a class proficiency) with Deception. Tricking men into turning into pigs is kind of a hobby for you.
Ability Scores
Your strongest score should go into Intelligence, that's how you cast spells, and also you're clearly more intelligent than the men who show up on your island. Speaking of, Charisma is next- you're a witch in the middle of a witch hunt that somehow never got caught, and there's also that whole Pig Island thing. Your Dexterity is also pretty good, it's hard enough to cast spells while walking, let alone flying. Also those heels, oh my fucking god how have you not broken an ankle yet. Your Constitution is above average mostly because I'd feel bad putting it any lower. That means your Wisdom is pretty low. You publicly introduce yourself as a witch in the middle of the Salem Witch Trials, and you're pretty flighty in general. Finally, dump Strength. You're a wizard, and you're clearly not that buff.
Class Levels
Circe is a wizard, meaning she starts off with proficiency in Intelligence and Wisdom saves, as well as Arcana and Religion. When you worship the goddess of magic, there isn't much of a difference, tbh. Speaking of magic, you can cast and prepare Spells using your Intelligence. Your spell slots normally only recharge on long rests, but once per long rest you can get a couple slots back on a short rest thanks to your Arcane Recovery, giving you back slots of a total level equal to half your wizard level rounded up. So when you hit level three, you can get back one 2nd level slot, or two 1st level slots. The thing about wizard is, they get a lot of spells. Six now, and two each level, plus whatever they can scavenge from other wizards. Since Circe's whole power set is "good at magic", there really isn't a set of spells that fit- any spell you could cast would be applicable. So rather than try to boil it down myself, we're just giving a rough guide here. There's a whole ass list on the character sheet, and we'll bring up the super important ones here, but really there's three qualifications: if a spell fits into one of these categories, Circe would probably have it. 1. Is it useful? The most open-ended, but just fill in spaces left by the other 2 with spells you want. I'm not a goddamn baby sitter, pick spells you like. 2. Can it turn one thing into another? Men to pigs, You into Medea, whatever kykeon is made out of into kykeon, this one's pretty easy to spot. 3. Can it help someone sail a ship? A bit specific, but helping the sailors she doesn't turn into pigs is also Circe's thing. Skill empowerment, weather control, that kind of thing. With all that out of the way, the big spells you'll probably want at first level are Mage Armor for not dying, Magic Missile for caster balls, and Sleep to knock out the sailors while you go around turning them to pigs. True Polymorph takes an hour per sailor and you need to recharge with a long rest, so this’ll take a while.
At second level, you become a Transmutation Savant, giving you all sorts of bonuses, like how copying transmutation spells into your book is cheaper and faster now. You can also make Minor Alchemy, turning 1 cubic foot of wood, stone, iron, copper, or silver, into another material on that list over the course of 10 minutes. You're not strong enough to shatter wooden chains either, but hopefully someone on your team is. This transformation lasts up to an hour or until you lose concentration, then it turns back to its regular form.
Third level wizards get Cantrip Formulas, letting you swap out one cantrip you know with a cantrip you don't know at the end of a long rest. You also get second level spells, like Alter Self to turn into Medea (among other benefits), and Gust of Wind to help out with sailing.
Use your first Ability Score Improvement to get a Keen Mind- always knowing which way you're facing and the angle the sun should be at are both really useful on the open sea. It also rounds up your Intelligence for stronger spells, and you can make your DM's life hell by remembering things up to a month after they happened.
Fifth level wizards get third level spells. Feign Death will help fake Mata Hari’s hanging later on, and Bestow Curse is super useful, since it can give a creature disadvantage on one kind of save. Like, say, wisdom saves. I wonder if there's a spell you like that requires a wisdom save coming up?
Sixth level transmutation wizards can create a Transmuter's Stone, a tiny object that gives its holder one of several benefits. When you make the stone, and if you're holding it while casting a transmutation spell, you can choose its beneft from the following: Darkvision, increased speed, proficiency in constitution saves, or resistance to one of acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. You can only make one at a time after 8 hours of work, so don't try to stack them.
Seventh level wizards get fourth level spells, and you could get polymorph now if you really want, but you can also get that spell later for free, so if you're patient, you can get another spell now. If you do go for polymorph, it forces a wisdom save on a creature, and if they fail the save or they're willing, you can turn one creature into a beast with a CR equal to or less than the target's CR or level. All of the creature's stats are replaced by the new creature's, outside of alignment and personality. If it drops to 0 HP in this form, and hour passes, or you drop concentration, they turn back to normal. You can also cast other fourth level spells, like Control Water for sailing, Fabricate to turn... barley, just looked it up, into kykeon. Or any raw materials into a finished product that is Large or smaller.
At eighth level, you get another ASI that'll let you max out your Intelligence for super strong spells. That, plus your curses, will make your polymorph super hard to resist. When you get it.
Ninth level wizards get fifth level spells, like Control Winds and Skill Empowerment, as well as Scrying.
A tenth level transmuter is a Shapechanger, giving you the polymorph spell for free. You can also cast it on yourself once per short rest for free, but only if you turn into something CR 1 or lower. Sadly Medea isn't a beast or CR 1, but it doesn't hurt to practice. Also, yeah! You can now turn pretty much anyone into a Pig (CR 0, so there’s no excuse) or if you want to weaponize it, a Giant Boar (CR 2). Just promise to turn them back if they do your bidding. Still only lasts an hour, but they don’t have to know that.
Eleventh level wizards get sixth level spells. There really isn’t anything specifically Circe-like I want at this level, so just grab whatever your heart wants. There will be time for specifics later.
At twelfth level you get another ASI, and since your intelligence is maxed out we can diversify. Grab the War Caster feat for advantage on concentration saves (very good for pigmaking), the ability to cast spells with your hands full (not applicable), and best of all, you can cast spells as opportunity attacks if that spell as an action casting time and targets a creature. Oh hey, guess what spell fits that description?
Thirteenth level casters get seventh level spells! Again, not necessarily anything you need from here, but Plane Shift is always cool. Maybe you can stumble onto the pig dimension or something.
Your last goody from the transmutation specialty is to become a Master Transmuter, burning your transmuter stone in one go for a burst of magical power. Afterwards, you can’t make a new one until you take a long rest. You can use this for a Major Transformation, permanently changing a medium or smaller nonmagical object into another of similar size & mass (you also can’t cheese value out of this) over the course of 10 minutes. Alternatively, you make a Panacea, removing all curses, diseases, and poisons from a single creature, while also healing it back to full health. That’s some good eating. Going even further, you can Restore Life to cast Raise Dead without a spell slot. Death is a pretty hard line in the Nasuverse, but if anyone could do it it’d probably be Circe. Finally, you can Restore Youth to reduce a creature’s age by 3d10 years without extending their lifespan. You’ve clearly used that on yourself a couple times, but I can’t blame you.
Fifteenth level wizards get eighth level spells, and for once there is something I want to get. You might not use Scylla in-game, but hey, giant sea monsters are cool, so use either Summon Greater Demon, Dominate Monster, or Illusory Dragon to get one, depending on your preferred method.
You get yet another ASI, so bump up your Constitution for better concentration and more health- remember, health gets added retroactively, so that’s 16 extra this level, not one.
At seventeenth level you finally get ninth level spells, giving you access to Mass Polymorph for a proper pig banquet. This one is limited to only half the targets’ levels, but a pig is still CR 0, so it shouldn’t be a big issue. However, if you’re feeling really cruel, you can use True Polymorph for a more... permanent solution. If you keep concentration up for a full hour, the change lasts until it is dispelled. You can also turn objects into creatures, or creatures into objects, but none of those are particularly in character.
Eighteenth level wizards get Spell Mastery, giving you a 1st & 2nd level spell that you can cast for absolutely free, no restrictions. You can always change it later, but I highly suggest Magic Missile so you always have some damage on standby, and Alter Self for the versatility of it.
Your penultimate level grants you your ultimate ASI, so bump up your Charisma for an easier time tricking sailors. It doesn’t do much for the build, but at this point it doesn’t need to.
Your final level of the build gives you two Signature Spells, 3rd level spells that you can cast once per short rest without spending a spell slot. Sadly polymorph is a fourth level spell so it isn’t in the running, but Bestow Curse and Tidal Wave are good runners up. I never said you had to be nice to sailors, just help them out occasionally.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Polymorph is one of the easiest ways to utterly shut down an enemy if it hits, at the very least buying you an hour to run away and regroup. It’s also very funny.
The Transmuter’s Stone is a very powerful support tool, protecting you and giving you healing options wizards don’t normally get. You also come loaded with tools like Skill Empowerment, which is just flexible enough to be useful even when you’re not on a ship.
You get concentration free flight, which is incredibly useful for a spellcaster. Being able to completely avoid an enemy’s front line and turn their back line into pigs is very useful.
Cons
The reason your flight being concentration free is such a big deal is because a lot of your spells use concentration. Honestly, your saves aren’t that bad (esp. with war caster) but it still limits your options, especially when your signature move requires concentration.
While your stone is powerful, it has a huge recharge time to contend with, requiring a long rest followed by an extra 8 hours of work, and the entire time between now and then you might as well not have a subclass. It’s a pretty harsh penalty for actually using your class feature.
It takes a while for this build to go from level one to casting polymorph, so if you want a build you can jump right into and feel like the character, this build definitely isn’t what you’re looking for.

nsfw a-z JUNKYU (treasure)
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
lots of cuddles and stroking your skin. he wants to make you feel calmer than you did even before the scene, calm enough to fall asleep. he can sense when you’re back to being your usual self but the softness doesn’t stop.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
he has two favourites on his own body and on you! on him, it’s his lips and his legs. his legs because well it’s junkyu he has fabulous legs duh. and his lips because he constantly notices you staring at them. he bites them on purpose when he sees you staring at them and knows that you want to kiss them 24/7
on you, he likes your hair and your fingers the most. he likes the way your fingers wrap around his dick and how you tease the tip with your index finger, sending him straight to heaven. and he likes to stroke your hair. he knows it sends shivers down your spine when you’re already turned on.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
he definitely looks forward to seeing you covered in his cum. even if you let him cum inside you, he doesn’t because he wants to see it actually on your body. he lovessss watching it trickle down your fingers before you suck it off them and also clean the remaining liquid off his dick too. he also sometimes has you take selfies on his phone after he’s finished all over your face for a later date.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
when you sit by him in your short dresses and skirts, he wants to do nothing more than to slowly inch his hand up your inner thigh and finger you, making you leave a damp patch on the seat, but he’s nervous that other people in the room might notice.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
2 different partners, one of which was a long time girlfriend, the other a one night stand. he can be romantic, he can be distant, he knows it all. he’s still a little shy with saying things out loud, but that doesn’t affect his skill and will happily discuss things via text.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
ride him and he’ll be your whiney little bitch. don’t get me wrong, he’s still in charge, but the noises and the faces he pulls have you fooled for a second. he doesn’t have a preference, reverse cowgirl and cowgirl are even, both get him to cum quicker than any other position.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
he’s a silly guy, you think that’s gonna stop just because he’s got his dick out? he’s so loving, even if you are friends with benefits, he just wants to make you smile and to make you feel comfortable and safe, as well as making himself feel comfortable too. a tense atmosphere is only saved for those scenes where you are mad at each other.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
he’s always completely shaved. balls too :)
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
he’s a huge romantic and is solely focused on you. even if he’s desperate, he’s still gonna make it loving and share lots of intimate moments with you.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
he takes his time when it comes to masturbation. he wants to set the scene in his mind as takes a lot to actually turn him on when you aren’t there. he usually gets off at his desk to those pics he’s taken of you or to just his imagination. he gets caught by his members a lot, but he somehow convinces them he’s just working on a song.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
he loves when you call him sir or master, especially when you look at him all innocently. it lets him know that you know your place and that he has you wrapped around his little finger. call him one of these in a sfw context and that’s when you know you’re in for a good time.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
studio or at his desk in his room. although it not ideal for his job, the best sex usually happens when you’re distracting him from something you can tell that he’s stressed with. giving him head while he’s working or while he’s gaming usually gets him really turned on and as much as he’s saying that you guys can’t do anything at the time, you definitely can and will.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
pictures of you! it’s not secret that he has a folder of pictures of you that he uses to get off to. your selfie’s alone really turn him on, especially the ones where you have your fingers in your mouth. but of course there’s plenty of nudes and little teasers in there too. and those pics of your face covered in him cum of course.
lingerie!! boy loves seeing you in the sexiest pieces and sets, so much so that he doesn’t mind splashing the cash and buying you some as a “just because” gift. he’s very gentle (most of the time) and does not rip them because they’re stunning on you! but sometimes he gets carried away and tugs on them a little too much while pulling you towards him.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
no food play. it’s too messy and too much of a hassle after a scene when he’s super tired.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
my mind always goes to junkyu getting head under his desk while he’s producing a song, tell me that wouldn't be hot. i can imagine him to be quite whiney but he just lets you do your thing without telling you how to suck it. running the underneath of your tongue over the tip is for sure something that he CRAVES. if he asks he gets, but he just wants you to do it anyway without even being asked.
his oral skills aren’t anything special, they’re good enough, but he gets you so worked up beforehand that the slightest touch will make you cum. he loves to press little kisses against your inner thighs before actually getting to eating you out.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
most times, he wants it slow. he wants to drag out every last moment and make the most of everything and so he keeps the pace slow. he doesn’t wanna tire you or himself out, knowing that you’ll both crave more after the first round. but sometimes he’s a little desperate, there’s nothing slow about it when he’s like this.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
he’s not a fan at first, but you soon show him the wonders of quickies in a vacant room where you can get caught, and he’s craving them all the damn time. he becomes a quickie lover and sometimes all he needs is to be satisfied for a while.
honestly though, he wouldn’t choose them over somewhere comfortable like your bedroom and wonders why you’d rather do stuff quickly when you could just wait a few more hours and get ruined properly. if only he understood that sometimes, you just cannot wait, and that it’s all his fault.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
he gets excited at just the mere thought of experiments and venturing into a new world with you. the potential danger of literally anything out of the ordinary happening is something that really gets him going. he’s down to try anything once if you are, but he gets a little shy about discussing them.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
usually 2 rounds with a small break in the middle for water and such. he can last around 15 minutes per round inside of you and he’s pretty proud of himself for that lmao, especially since he’s receiving head for like 20 mins lol
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
he loves knowing that you use toys when he’s not around, it gets him horny to think about you holding a vibrator against your clit while you think about him. but i don’t think such toys would be welcome in the bedroom while he was there.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
angry/jealous sex, there is no teasing at all. he gets what he wants and that’s it, there’s nothing in it for you (or so he thinks). if you don’t cum that’s your problem because he’s given you ample opportunity.
normal, “everyday” sex, is full of teasing, especially when it comes to giving you oral/foreplay. there’s lots of kissing, lots of orgasm denial and LOTS of touches and kisses. pressing light kisses onto your clothed clit was his signature move, just one had you wanting to cum sometimes.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
he’s whiney as FUCK okay. he’s very loud, you can definitely hear him, maybe even some other people too hehe. sometimes he sends you voice notes of him moaning when he knows you’re horny and alone. he’s not really into dirty talk because he doesn’t want to say anything that will ruin the mood.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
he runs his hand through his hair A LOT while you two are being intimate, especially when your lips are wrapped around his length. usually his hair gets sweaty and also, he wants to see you, so you catch him brushing it out of his face a lot.
he’s definitely a tits man. he loves to hold them, sleep on them, suck on them, whatever you/he wants. he holds them while he fucks you because he knows it hurts, it’s a win win. they aren’t always sexual to him either, they’re just another part of you that he can admire (but he’s too shy to compliment you on them and also thinks it would be kinda weird if he did lol)
he. kisses. you. constantly. the kisses are often broken by the thrusts but he doesn’t care and he actually thinks it makes the whole thing more romantic.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
just over average length with a litter under average thickness. i think he’s a show-er too.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
honestly, not that high. he goes through spells of not wanting any to wanting it twice a day, but on the whole, it's not extraordinarily high nor low
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
he’s pretty tired, but he doesn’t want to fall asleep until you have or you’ve said it’s okay for him to sleep. he’s a little groggy so you usually make him go to sleep whenever, but it’s also really cute 🥺
