You don’t happen to have any pose references in wheelchairs, would you? I searched your tumblr and your website, but I figured I’d doublecheck since the tumblr search function doesn’t work that well!
I only have a few and I admit they are not great. A friend had one for a brief time and I borrowed it to get a few shots. It's not the right size for me. I hope to actually hire a model that uses a chair at some point for a better set but for now this is what I've got:

There's a few more from that shoot with Brian (the second model) that I don't have up yet anywhere. I will put those into a free set on Patreon soon. ♥

Harvest in a Hoodie! It has probably been a month or more since this ask was sent in OOPS. But I’m so happy with how she turned out! Harvest is an old DnD OC, and I love her very much. Pose reference is from adorka stock and the tattoos are from various public domain resources from the British Library and the Internet Archive! Thank you for the ask Jay MWAH!!

👀👀👀
Good afternoon moot, my most recent OC just so happens to be my minesona! So

^ Here is a picture of the in game appearance of her [that is redstone. She's an engineer] that my bestie made me [@satanslittlepogchamp beloved gremlin who just surprised me w this skin i am in love]
Tumblr media
And here's a drawing of her that @atherix did [i love her so much she's so cute i am going insane AAAAH]
In my head her lore is sort of twofold because She's got her like Overall Lore and then the lore specific to our server bc I'm the admin right so
The Overall Lore: Her name is Pen and she's a redstone engineer by trade. I've kind of been toying w the idea of her being an avian but I almost wanna give her like mechanical wings instead lol. I have a tendency to perch up high when I talk to people or when I'm just sort of wandering around so - wings. I DO like the idea of her having like proper wings that can flap and are powered by redstone.
She builds a lot of farms with the intent to share the wealth. They might not always be the most efficient or effective, but she certainly can build them. And she is always wiping redstone onto her face and getting it onto her clothes.
Her one arm has a bandage because hse is. ALWAYS. getting injured. To no one's surprise anymore. Death messages from Pen are pretty common even outside of a keepinv on world. She's never attempted hardcore for that reason.
Pen is also fascinated with ancient redstone methodology and sometimes builds old, non-functional redstone machines for fun. She usually keeps a workshop or lab for redstone experiments, to see what still might work nowadays.
For my server: Pen is also, somewhat secretly but not really, a god. Not exactly an omnipotent one, but she likes to think she's benevolent. Sometimes her server mates find themselves teleported to hard to reach places where they died, or sometimes when they need something Pen is just there. Sometimes she just magically finds the one or two bits of materials they needed to finish their builds. Sometimes she accidentally wipes out the entity population and suddenly theres a cow boom. She tries.

Hello! Would you happen to have any recommendations for realistic anatomy books on humans (for art purposes)? A lot of the online anatomy references are very exaggerated and the models have only 'ideal' body types and don't depict any others (E.g. Online male anatomy references are extremely buff for no reason). Thank you for the help :)
I do have a small collection of anatomy-for-artists books, but honestly, those are also populated predominantly with people who look like living Greek sculptures. So, I asked around a bit for both book and online sources. Here are a few things:
Height Weight Chart -- A library that people have contributed multitudes of their own photos to. Some people took turnaround photos in form-fitting clothes. Some are just one-off snapshots of people in street clothes. But, both of those things can be useful in their own way, and there certainly are a lot of body types here. (Thanks for the link, Fable).
------------------------------------------------------ AdorkaStock -- Features a whole free pose gallery containing a really excellent array of varied bodies. The photos generally focus more on form than costume, and if anything, the extremely sculpted bodies you tend to see in other stock libraries are de-emphasized here.
------------------------------------------------------
Satine Zillah -- An expansive library of downloadable photo packs. Most of them feature athletic or thin body types, many are heavy on costuming, but there are some that focus on more variety if you take time to scroll through (elderly bodies, plus-size bodies, people with dwarfism, etc.)
------------------------------------------------------
Morpho -- I know a lot of people swear by these books by Michel Lauricella. Morpho: Fat and Skin Folds in particular seems to cover some ground that a lot of other anatomy/pose lessons just skip right over. Looks like it's available as an ebook too.
I hope that helps some! I'm sure there are other resources out there, though. If anyone has some solid recommendations, please leave them in the comments!

ok so i've been following your art for a bit now (which, by the way, it is amazing, i especially love your pen/pencil and ink) and i've noticed you always post who/what you used for a drawing reference with it and i'm wondering . . . do you have/could you post a list of places to go for good art references? maybe i'm looking in the wrong places but they are hard to find.
heyo!! sorry for taking so long to get to this ask, it's midterm season </3 here's a list (in no particular order) of my favorite drawing reference creators:
live people models:
@adorkastock
@jookpubstock
@null-entity
@nyxnaiastock
@blumineck (I Eagerly Await the drop of his archery reference packs)
drawn or 3D models:
@kingcholerarefs
@grey-fuckers-unlimited
@posemuse
all these creators are present on tumblr (duh lmao bc I linked to their blogs), but they also have links to their own deviantart accs / patreon pages / ko-fi pages / indie sites / etc. on their accs, and I would definitely recommend checking those out as well!!

A set of very conceptual notes I drafted a while back for someone asking for advice on learning to draw humans. I'm entirely self-taught so this is less of a tutorial and more of a very rambling set of general principles I follow and ideas that helped while I was learning. I figured I'd post it in case anyone else could get use out of it!
I also recommend checking out:
Drawing East Asian Faces by Chuwenjie
How to Think When you Draw (lots of good tutorials in this series)
Pose reference sites such as Adorkastock
Transcript and some elaboration under the cut:
Img 1 - Drawing a face
The two most important elements (at least for me) when drawing a face are the outline of the cheek/jaw and the nose*. I often start with a circle to indicate the round part of the skull, then add a straight like and a 'V' to one side [to create the side of the face and the jaw]. The nose creates an easy template for the rest of the face's features to follow (eyebrows at the top of the nose bridge, eyes towards the center of the bridge, ear lines up to eye) and the placement/direction and overlap with other features is a very simple way to indicate dimension. [A sketch of a face that has been adjusted by moving its parts to create 3 different angles. The following text is underneath:] -Different 3/4th views can be created just by adjusting the position of and amount of overlap between the facial features. - The top of the ear usually lines up with the corner of the eye. Think of how glasses are designed [specifically, how the arms run from the eyeline to the ear] [I go on a tangent in these next few paragraphs] *One thing I see many artists do - not just beginners - is learn how to draw A Person. As in, one singular person with one set of bodily proportions and one set of facial features. It's an issue that runs a bit deeper than 'same face syndrome' because sometimes these artists can draw more than one face, they're just not very representative of [the diversity present across] real people. Part of the reason I'm talking more about how to think about approaches to drawing - rather than showing specific how-to's - is because there is no one correct or right way to draw a person. The sooner you allow yourself to explore variety - fat people, old people, people of color, people with [conventionally] 'unattractive' features - the easier it'll be! Artists often draw their own features honestly and without [harmful] caricature, so it's always a good idea to look at art made by the kinds of people you're trying to draw if you're ever unsure about how to handle something. In general, it's far more important to learn how to interpret a variety of forms than to learn how to replicate the Platonic Ideal of the Human Body.
Img 2 - Stuff that helped me
Jumping into drawing humans (faces or otherwise) straight from photo reference can be overwhelming. The trick is to simplify forms into shapes - but even this concept is sort of abstract and it may be hard to know where to begin. Good news - Thousands of other artists have already figured it out. [When starting out] I needed to learn from photo reference AND artists I admired in order to improve. [When looking at stylization you are inspired by] ask yourself: WHY does this simplification work? How can I translate it into a different pose? Instead of copying what you see in a photo reference exactly, try to focus on the general forms first. My two biggest style inspirations for humans while learning to draw them were Steven Universe and Sabrina Cotugno's art. SU gets a lot of hate [in this instance I was specifically referring to a time on tumblr when the art was knocked for 'losing quality'] but its style does a great job of simplifying anatomy in a way that still portrays a diversity of bodies + features. [Extremely simplified drawings of Lapis, Steven, and Amethyst] SU characters are still identifiable- and still read as 'human' - even when reduced to just a few lines!
Img 3 - Things I keep in mind while drawing side profiles
- Eyebrows + eyes close to the 'edge' of the face - Forehead needs enough room for a brain - Eye is > shaped from the sides - Mouth kinda halfway [between the nose and the chin] but closer to the nose - Skin/fat exists under the jaw [and connects to the neck] - neck is about one half the width of the whole head - the back of the skull always sticks out a bit further than you might expect - Sometimes less is more - contours exist on every face, but drawing them in may make your character seem much older than they're supposed to be. However, it's a good idea to use them when you *want* your character to look old! These are very general notes- every face is different and has different proportions [and playing around with them creates unique and interesting character designs]

Today's warmup, referenced from @adorkastock
Tumblr media
I've finished my Sharpe rewatches, so I'll get back to more typical content soon, but I just think it's great how even though Sharpe and Boromir are both proud, strong soldiers, you'd never mistake one for the other. Boromir has a huge, soft heart and is revered throughout two countries, but tends to be an outsider within the Fellowship. Sharpe has a massive chip on his shoulder and is reviled by many in the army, but is respected by his small group of riflemen. They're background differences, but they come through in the writing and Sean's portrayal of them both.
Yeah, Sharpe would have carried Pippin and Sam through the snow on Caradhras, but he wouldn't have joked with them to put them more at ease. He'd have left that to Harper. Yeah, Boromir would have been outraged at the Prince of Orange's orders at Waterloo, but he wouldn't have lined him up in his sights. He'd have left that to Gimli.

I realized just now that my asks for this blog weren't open, I apologize. Now they are open.
Anyway, here you go @heavytf2tummy , I finally had time to draw :) I used a reference from @adorkastock for the pose. It was actually harder to draw this piece than I expected.
I was supposed to draw a reference sheet of Avi and his scars to accompany this piece, but things happened and I decided I'm going to draw Avi's reference sheet later.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the tummy :)

Are you okay with people drawing their characters wearing your skirts and/or using you and your models as reference images for drawing? If posted anywhere I would of course credit you/the model but I wanted to ask permission first! Thank you so much for sharing your work with us!

do you have any good references for bigger body types?
Yes!
I use a fat model tag here on Tumblr. You can sometimes search by model name in my DA Archive if you know a certain model has a body type you are looking for. Here's a guide to everyone though I'm never tagged by name:
Tumblr media
My site gallery has a sort by body type though it's a WIP on how I will label and tag them. I can also recommend fatphotoref.com which you will need to apply to to access. It's a community based resource run by Ruby so please be patient if you request access. 🥰 Here's a few just to have in this post, too!

I got @lanfan01 as my giftee for the @fmasecretsanta2023 exchange - they asked for Lan Fan and Ling. I hope you like it! I really wanted to draw something that had both Lan Fan kicking ass and also something that shows the trust and affection between them, despite the gaping space their respective ranks put between them. So drawing them sparring - in comfortable clothes without rank - seemed appropriate.
I'm really happy with how this came out, and decided not to color it because I think it looks good like this. Click for full size!
Credit goes to @adorkastock for the pose reference.

“Come, my dear, and be a part of my home Missing stitch and flowers on a headstone But I will crawl like a sinner to be at your feet Should God or the devil ever ask for me Oh my love, oh my love.” — The Crane Wives, “October”
hehe new official art of Achlys >:) feat. her updated design, her cane, her bone lyre, her holy symbol of ravenkind, more Ravenloft motifs, and also her own gravestone. I'm super super proud of how this one turned out, especially the composition!! (it's something I've been trying to work on lately.)

Reverse Marinette's first heartbreak
Tumblr media
credits: @adorkastock for this pose
@bgony for alt chloe design.
Yes that's reverse Adrien many months before his haircut.
@generalluxun for Chloe's sunny character concept. Marvelous just Marvelous! Chloe can kill with kindness. Check their reverse fics Note that Alt!Chloe is definitely NOT into Adrien or any man. But I needed a Chloe. Update: read this post here for more about this Chloe. Let's pretend for a moment the Supreme forced her to date Paris' beloved teen celebrity for the Greater Good. What's even scarier is that this brainwashed Chloe would probably comply gladly.
**
Sunburn
(English is not my first language. So grin and bear it)
They say never meet your heroes or, in this case, your beloved idol. Marinette learned this the hard way.
She was beside herself when she learned that, despite the rumors of having (yet again) a new Supreme-sanctioned girlfriend, the self-proclaimed teen heartthrob Sunshine Boy Adrien was having an informal meet and greet at Le Grand Paris. Just two blocks away from her own home. There was no point asking for permission. Her parents would never allow it. But this chance was too good to let it lapse.
It was dark and everyone was asleep. She grabbed a few magazines and one of the many pictures scattered all over her punk themed bedroom and, silently escaped her room by climbing down the side wall of her three storey home. She ran into the night and camped, hours before dawn, by the expected location, right near the entrance of the fanciest hotel in Paris. It was chilly and slightly humid as the sun climbed the sky but Marinette didn't pay any mind even as the noisy swarm of fans started gathering all around the area forcing her to push and fight to keep her privileged spot in the queue.
There he was, Adrien Agreste in the flesh, even more handsome than portrayed in the heavily retouched press photos or the official telescreen channels. Her heart skipped a beat and she charged forward to beg for an autograph.
And then she saw her.
His arm around her with such unbearable familiarity. Her golden messy hair precariously arranged in two braided ponytails. Unmistakably her. Blinding her with that sunny personality and that oh-so-hideous saccharine smile plastered on that ridiculously pretty doll-like face: Chloe. Chloe Bourgeois. The snobbiest prissy miss perfect, top-of-the-class loved-by-all daughter of the mayor of Paris. Chloe Bourgeois. Her bully. Her tormentor. The only person who single-handedly made her life a total misery every single day since kindergarten. Even today on this otherwise auspicious day.
She felt something snap and, for a moment, she couldn't move. As she missed her chance, she got shoved and pushed by the hoards of screeching fans hopelessly drawn to the golden pair like moths to a flame. A flame Marinette could no longer see with tears clouding her sight and threatening to ruin her heavy makeup and the magazines she clutched for dear life onto her chest.
Then another spark blew from her heart, and fire swallowed her whole, uncontrolled, until it scorched her feelings and escaped her lips in a shaken broken whisper: I hate you.
I hate you. She repeated and ran as fast as she could until she crashed back in her bed. She ignored the angry protests of her parents and, possessed by an irrational anger, she dragged all the posters, the pictures, the Supreme endorsed propaganda and threw them into the open fire of the large oven at the back of the bakery. She just stood there hypnotized, staring and staring as that pretty boy face writhed in the flames.
When everything was reduced to ashes, she pulled her phone and called that guy who'd been pestering her for the last few months, begging her for a date. And she agreed. Because she also wanted to shine. She wanted to be loved and held tightly, and worshipped even if for just a moment, even if that moment was going to be with that obnoxious, arrogant, stuck-up class president, Le Chien Kim.
But maybe just then she would finally stop feeling like such a loser for having that ridiculous crush for someone who didn't even know she existed.
And with those thoughts she promised to never succumb to the whims of her heart ever again.
But Marinette was right at least for one thing: Adrien Agreste had never even seen her before in his life. Not until a few weeks later when he decided to finally surprise his mother with her favorite artisan macarons and his feet dragged him to the door of the most popular bakery of the 21th arrondissement.

I'm SUPER excited to show off this recently completed commission! My commissioner, who was a total dream client, purchased my Vampire Scouts deck from the show at Modist Brewing. They reached out to me to ask if I would be able to make a Bleach themed deck using the same colors and style to accompany the vampire deck.
I've never seen Bleach before and didn't know much about it, but the commissioner helped me through the hardest aspects of getting the characters down. I had way more fun working on this commission than I thought I would! The end product came out great and the commissioner loves it, which is most important of course.
Thank you so much to my commissioner! Very happy to add this to my skateboard deck portfolio.
Special thanks to @adorkastock for all of the pose references used for posing these folks! Took a ton of guess work out. Absolutely invaluable resources to have!
