hehe new official art of Achlys >:) feat. her updated design, her cane, her bone lyre, her holy symbol of ravenkind, more Ravenloft motifs, and also her own gravestone. I'm super super proud of how this one turned out, especially the composition!! (it's something I've been trying to work on lately.)

in the words of my other dnd group's (current) monk player, "there's nothing like using a class assignment to blorbopost," because I decided to use my honors class project assignment as an excuse to attempt a memento mori portrait of Achlys. (which, my teacher doesn't know this, but it's extra thematic for my reborn spirits bard, cause. y'know. girl died once and now she can see ghosts.)

I still don't know shit about fuck when it comes to digital painting, but I'm working on it!! any tutorials anyone has would be very much welcomed by this self-taught artist working her way up another learning curve lmao

so I decided Achlys needed a fancy gown for when Strahd invites the party to dinner at Castle Ravenloft (no it hasn’t happened yet, I’m just familiar with some of the plot points of the module, so please no spoilers!!!!), and I subsequently wound up spending an unreasonable amount of time on what was seriously supposed to be a quick sketch. I based the gown on the dress on the right (I know I found this photo Somewhere on tumblr, but I cannot for the life of me remember where), just with a spookier touch!!

shoutout to @horrorwood01 for giving me the idea to incorporate lilies into the look for purposes of symbolism, and shoutout once again to @jookpubstock for the reference I used for both the pose and the fabric!!!
