So apparently KOSA (2024 edition) is getting either thrown out until next year or put into effect in six days. That was a guesstimate based on a different person saying that's when Congress is back in session and may be false.

Update that's going in the main post at the top: it has enough support to pass Congress.

It failed the last two times because people were voting against it.

This time, KOSA has traction among the pro-LGBTQ parties. Because nobody is fucking calling their bullshit and screaming from the rooftops that calling it the "Kids Online Safety Act" is misleading.

What will it passing do?

Nothing much, only prevent any education on LGBTQIA+ (it's that stupid fucking argument about us grooming kids again), shut down nearly every fandom space on the internet, and make it required for most big tech companies to have your ID.

Want to have resources for kids to discover their identity readily available? Yes? Then fucking speak up against this stupid fucking bill.

Fandom spaces like Tumblr, Twitter (? I thought the MAGA assholes liked Musk?), Tiktok, Archive Of Our Own, and any other website that hosts fanfic or fanart? Either shut down permanently, forced to uproot to a different country and down for a while (best case scenario, and they likely won't be able to send any data, and therefore fanfics, to the US), or gutted so that you only get to put G rated cishet ships on there, if any shipping at all. How to avoid that? I've already said it: Call your fucking representatives.

Want to avoid the fucking dystopic task of being legally obligated to give big tech your government issue ID? Again, cause an uproar. Call your goddamned representatives.

If they can pass this, the ripple effects could be catastrophic.

So, for fuck's sake, any Americans that can impact this stupid fucking bill and see this? Do everything in your power to shut it down because you have until February twenty sixth (26th) to send this bill back to where it belongs.

And if you can't do that? Reblog, copy my tags, and boost the signal.

Sorry not sorry for ranting, making you scroll through that, and swearing a probably excessive amount, but KOSA is a bill with a GLOBAL IMPACT being passed by ONE COUNTRY because some old people are scared of two guys with who were told they were girls kissing within five hundred miles of a child. Fuck this shit, I shouldn't have to worry about bad bills in America but I fucking do because I use the internet and would like to avoid mass censorship. Fuck this, fuck conservatives, and fuck the fact that some boomers make your country's policies.

Now, if you won't mind me, I'm going to be up until three in the morning downloading fanfiction or copying and pasting them into a a text file if I can't so I can read them by the end of the week.

Are you actually attracted to nunalastor?

Honestly, the only time I've experienced attraction (i think? Still unsure if it was that) was with one girl at my uni and the feeling I have for nunalastor is very similar. Boomerang is so popular, the other day I was scrolling through the ssktjl tag and there was so much boomerang content I thought I was in his tag, it kills me that this game is getting overhated he could be having so much more content coming out 😭

*Me, pretending I'm not one of those people who posts Captain Boomerang content in the ssktjl tags...😳*

I think the problem for a lot of people is that the game takes place in the Arkham game universe. I also believe it could have been a game on its own and didn't need to be attached to any other franchise.

Plus, a lot of people were upset about Batman's death, but actually, it didn't bother me that much. I was much more shocked by Superman's death, which I find impossible to happen. For me, just like Flash having some lucidity moments (like when speaking to Wonder Woman...) I believe Batman had that lucidity moment, and that's why he let Harley kill him so easily. Cause he knew it was the only way to save earth from Brainiac. He knew he couldn't be redeemed. I know a lot of people will come after me for saying this, but that's just my opinion, everyone can have a different opinion, it's OK 👍🏻.

Also, I cried so much when Wonder Woman died. You can tell Boomer is so conflicted, he don't know how to react. Maybe he had the 'survivor syndrome'. And the fact Harley stayed by her side until she disappeared, yeah I cried hard.

All of this, to say that I agree with you, the game receives a lot of hate for almost no reason. Mostly because I believe the squad was the only real interesting thing about the game. CAPTAIN BOOMERANG was one of the only interesting things about the game. The dev team really puts a lot of effort into his character. That's why he is everywhere. That's why I honestly think he wouldn't have more content even if the game was more loved. Because, everyone who loves him, is already creating amazing art and writing about him. His Boomerang Nation is already by his side.

I just read your x reader post (and the anon response to it) and good Lord you are right. I read your whole rant and I felt it in my bones!!

I've been in this damn app for over 10 years, and written for almost as many fandoms, and I'll say that the x reader tag has NEVER been this bad. It's not just st, it's nearly all of the ones I've seen and it's just gone down hill. It's really so fucking sad.

I was huge in the SVU fandom, and there were So! Many! Writers! We all reblogged eachothers fics and not everything had to be about sex to get notes! We LOVED when reader kissed the character for the first time because we understood that it was the yearning, the 'Oh God finally I'm having you' and not all about just fucking! God now even the most hastly written, shitty smut gets thousands of notes just because it's smut. It's so fucking disheartening. I've written a few things for st (one of which is the piece I'm most proud of, ever) and it got like, 100 notes on here. That's it, but I swear some 'popular' writers get so much traction just because they write smut poorly.

And not to sound like a boomer (cause I'm not a SWEAR) but the tik tok-ification of fandom and fanfic is ruining it! The lack of reading comprehension, the fact that reader has to be as description-less as possible or else "its not realalistic, I'd never do that, etc etc" makes me wanna rip my skin off. Fanfic used to be an outlet for so many people but the way its treated now makes it near unbearable.

The longer this drags on and the more that the images and videos from out of Gaza (or the West Bank for that matter) run completely counter to the U.S./Israeli propaganda narrative, the greater the cognitive dissonance that is necessary to claim the usual liberal Zionist talking points like "Israel is only acting in self-defense" (then why have they killed hundreds in the West Bank where Hamas is not in power), that "things would be better if the Palestinians just embraced non-violence" (they have on multiple occasions, the Israelis keep fucking killing them), or how the "IDF is the most moral army in the world" (then why is there mass looting of Palestinian homes by IDF soldiers). The collapse of these narratives has been so swift and so complete with every new things we learn about what happened on October 7th and afterwards that I think it's really short-circuited a few people's brains. There's been the revelation that many civilian deaths were the result of IDF following orders to institute the Hannibal directive, the forty beheaded babies story being a lie dreamt up by a fanatic, to the collapse of the NYT story on mass rapes (turns out the lead journalist was former Israeli intelligence), the story that Al-Shifa Hospital was some sort of terrorist base, and the lie which has had the most consequence: that UNRWA workers were directly involved in Oct. 7th the evidence for which is so flimsy as to be laughable if the consequences hadn't been so dire.

The speed at which these narratives have collapsed and how quickly Israel has run through any goodwill following Oct. 7th is honestly astounding. It took the Americans around two years give-or-take following 9/11 to exhaust the world's goodwill, Israel managed to speed-run this in less than two months. When boomer left-libs like my parents are starting to say things like "I don't know what's wrong with the Israelis" that's a new thing. I'm a little older than many of my followers so I remember things like the 2006 Lebanon War and watching it thinking "this seems excessive, what aren't they telling us?" It took years before the existence of the Dahiya Doctrine became known. And the images from Operation Cast Lead in 2008 (the conflict which was impetus for me to really dig into researching the conflict) weren't coming this fast or this graphic. This has got to do numbers on your psyche if you're a typically "progressive" person but also supporting the Israeli cause. It's like that Eli Valley cartoon riffing on the Incredible Hulk. I think the way some of them are coping is by telling bigger and bigger lies, becoming more extreme, retreating into more closed off bubbles. It's fear, fear of being wrong.

If you ever want to read some truly delusional posts I recommend checking out the "jumblr" tag (there are also some very brave and very intelligent anti-Zionist Jews also posting in that tag who have my admiration and respect for fighting the good fight, I've followed several of them in the past weeks) where you can find Zionists making such convincing arguments as "what Israel is doing to the Palestinians isn't genocide because a genocide requires intent and incitement, and Israel hasn't expressed intent, besides the word genocide has lost all meaning anyway because of leftist anti-Semitism, it's really more like ethnic cleansing which can be voluntary". An assertion contradicted by the words and actions of Israeli defense minister Yoav Gallant, senior Israeli military officials, members of the Knesset including the deputy speaker, Minister for National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, an open Kahanist, the Hebrew language media, Israeli civilians, Israeli artists, active duty personnel in the IDF, Mossad run Telegram channels, President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They also like bringing up the existence of Arab Israeli citizens "oh they have equal rights!" (an easily disprovable claim) as a shield against the charge of genocide. It gets ugly too, I came across a post the other day of some American Zionist claiming that Hind Rajab could not possibly have been killed by the IDF because there would be no benefit in it to them, she must have been killed by Hamas who then blamed it on the IDF.

And because it's Tumblr it's all so frequently delivered in either that cutesy and twee cry bully tone of "oooh but I'm just a small little guy =uwu= and everyone is being mean to me!" or in the voice of the condescending gifted child "I am much smarter than you and this is why". It's frequently paired with a picrew avatar and queer identity flag. A few of them have "leftist" or "BLM" or "antifa" in their bio without a whiff of self awareness (no guesses as to the political ideology undergirding one of the groups from which the ruling Likud party claims descent). I'm not as hostile to identity politics as some leftists are, I think they can be a valuable tool to agitate for the needs of specific groups, but I can't help but see it as a damning indictment of the shallowness of the sort of "progressive" identity politics popular on here. It was developing a politics rooted in material analysis that lead me into criticism of Israel and if you don't have that, well, shallow identity politics aren't going to save you from being on the wrong side of history.

you're asking a pretty hard question here anon!! so many characters in tugs are really well written that I find nearly all of them my faves.... there's too many of them!!! if I have to choose, though?

I'll say currently top hat (there's definitely a pattern here lol). he thinks to himself "wow I'm the only competent tugboat in this whole port I'm soooo embarrassed". he's so posh and no-nonsense and has some of the best one liners in the show. I love him so much. I want to put him inside a blender. I hope he gets worse. I also love his voice even though I can't understand him 20% of the time (also recently made a revelation that he most likely has low empathy which just makes me love him even more!!!!)

I also really, REALLY love boomer. I don't play about his character.... the motifs. his struggles. his depression!!!!! every day I think to myself, "how is a character like this in a children's television?" because his character cuts so deeply it genuinely scared me (if you check the tags on my latest art of him you'll see a ramble I put there). boomer only appeared for ONE EPISODE and he already made a huge impact on me. boomer acts so distant and cynical but when you read in between the lines (even before he said "it’s what it did to others that worried me the most") it becomes clear how boomer prioritizes others' safety over his own (and how it impacts the way he values himself, which is so utterly low). he's probably one of the kindest and most selfless characters in the show, and he's so hard on himself..... gah!!! they did what they could with just one episode of him and boy did they deliver well.... boomer makes me feel things. he deserves to smile and live a normal life. sorry for the ramble anon. sob

moving on. other faves include sunshine (one of the more well adjusted tugboats in bigg city port), billy shoepack ("if I were a bad dynamite handler I wouldn't be sitting here discussing it with ya"), zip (a.k.a how many demian references can I insert in one tug), warrior (also one of the more well adjusted ones), and hercules (mr. I-have-10-minutes-of-screentime-in-total-but-everyone-loves-me)

Calling someone else's art fatphobic because you feel some type of way. You can't give someone advice and turn around and tag the BS. Also. You being overweight is your issue. Not the artist.

Ok? I stated to the person that I wasn't really coming at them personally I was just giving them advice for a mistake they made. I do see your point on how the tag was a little bit to much and I won't be using it again since the person themselves isn't fat phoic at all, which you would have realized I wasn't calling them since I literally stated "probably wasn't your intentions" I was just making a Criticism which they thanked me for? I see no issue with seeing an issue in telling someone not to slim down overweight characters. Sure they aren't fat phoic but the act of doing so is harmful, and it's also just Disrespectful to the actor. I only mentioned that I was "overweight" to show that I have a right to speak on this topic, I'm completely fine with being that and it's not an "issue" for me, so before you come at someone realize I wasn't trying to call them Fat Phoic I was just saying the nature of it was. But I will not being using that tag of course. Also what do you mean i might as well tell them they can't draw anymore? I was trying to help them out and Critique them in a positive sense. Also next time you try to go at someone try to come off more mature then just calling me a boomer and a bunch of other insults.
