sometimes a piece of art uses imagery that is important to the person making the art and it differs from the traditional usage of that imagery. you may even have a different personal interpretation of it that is not shared by the artist or the traditional meaning. this is important to know and learn.

#it's more like gentle encouragement masc. affirmation masc. #i just don't get the appeal sorry. forcemasc as a concept is already tricky because according to gender roles masculinity is not passive #so forcefem makes more sense because being deprived of your agency fits the gendered stereotype of femininity #so forcemasc would have to call to a hierarchy in order to work without partially feminising the recipient of it due to making them passive #and well i don't see any of that in posts that are like 'you can just be a boy if you want to' #i appreciate the pictures of pretty boys though 👍

the disparity in kudos between a skk fic and a fic for literally any other bsd characters/ship :/

#like okay i get it skk is the most popular bsd ship by a longshot #but it does kinda suck that my skk fics will always end up being more popular than literally anything else i write for bsd #when i have way better fics tbh #okay i'm unleashing this from my drafts lol #like i get it kudos/hits/bookmarks counts aren't telling of how good a fic is #but out of my last five fics. my skk one has ONE HUNDRED kudos more than the next most kudos #and idk it also sucks that i know my skk is better than 90% of the fandom but. even my skk fics get significantly less kudos/etc #than big writers in the fandom who AREN'T EVEN GOOD #or are like. mid at best #i know in theory that the bsd fandom doesn't care about characterization but like. not only do they encourage bad characterization #it feels like sometimes they're actively against good characterization #even in j.jk and a.tla where there are major issues with bad characterization #more people seem to at least appreciate the good characterization. The tadfools were just SO connected for such a long amount of time that I can't imagine them seeing each other as anything but family after a good run, especially a good Resist Durge run. I think they'd swoop right in for one another like they were siblings if they absolutely needed something.

Perhaps this is intrusive, but I like your writing. I saw your tags that you thought drawing was more useful than writing- but I love what you do with your art with words. Plus- if you do pick up drawing some time I'd love to see what you do!

Not intrusive at all 🥺 thank you so much actually, I'm really happy 🥺 especially because I'm always self-conscious when it comes to the words I use 🥺

It's just that I really envy that artists can just draw a still image and maybe pump it full of symbolism via the choice of color and lightning and details, maybe using visual references for help. To be clear, I'm not downplaying the effort that goes into it at all. But as a writer, sometimes I have a cool image or a small exchange in my head, but to get there I have to build context, create a progression, translate that mental image into words... it just feel like extra work that goes beyond how good you are at it. And that's not mentioning that art is much more easily digestible than writing :\

Also sometimes I wish I could just doodle the blorbo, you know? No context, no story, no anything. Dunno, it might be simple envy and maybe artists who don't write think writing would be more convenient lol.

As for fanart, well, I can offer this for now :P it ain't much but it's honest work. I'm still... not quite there when it comes to human anatomy lol.
