Thank you mod Sommie for the permission :) I dont wanna annoy you or anyone else by sending in a big ol comfort character thingamajig. There's no point in doing this on anon because I think people will figure out it's me 😅
The main complaint I see about Deirdre is how she's the reason everything goes wrong. And to an extent, yeah, she's a pawn in Manfroy's game, but she can't exactly control it, can she? She wasn't as lucky as Robin to be able to change her fate. It's not her fault she got kidnapped and mind wiped, nor is it her fault Julius got possessed. In fact, she sacrificed her life to let Julia escape-- but also because she blamed herself for these same things. Again, she couldn't control her fate, so please stop victim blaming her. Same for her mother. It's Victor Velthomer's fault that Genealogy happens, because he was a huge jerk and made Cigyun want to leave him in the first place.
Another is a lack of character. This... Well, I understand this one, honestly. The SNES had a lot of technical limitations that messed up a bunch of what they wanted to do in game. There's scrapped content for a bunch of characters, such as the arcs for Tailitu, Azelle, Lachesis, and Ayra (if I remember correctly). We still get a fair amount of characterization from her screentime, though. She's kind, risking everything to help Sigurd defeat Sandima. She's idealistic and a dreamer, going after what she thinks is the right path for her even if it means leaving everything behind. She's a good mother, making sure Seliph was in good hands before she left (intending to come back, mind you) and warping Julia away from Julius. She's curious, leaving the forest when she can to get a glimpse of the outside world or searching for her memories in Heroes. And even after all that happened to her, all that sorrow, she still loves everyone in her life.
I remember seeing someone say Ninian was likely an attempt at doing a character like her again, which makes a lot of sense. They'd be friends! Perhaps she'd get along with Emmeryn or Marianne as well. There's a lot of untapped potential for friendships in Heroes, honestly... Still waiting on that Edelgard/Arvis duo, FEH.
Anyways, to finish it off, I hope they keep her love for fairy tales in a remake. It's only in the Oosawa manga, but it fits her really well.

This option doesn't really serve the story I am telling, but...what if Josiah's mother hadn't died?
Canonically, Nyella dies of complications from childbirth shortly after Mikaiah is born, when Josiah is seven. Exactly how much of an impact did this have on the family? If Nyella hadn't died...
Odren would always be a workaholic no matter what, but he wouldn't have so thoroughly immersed himself in work to distract from the grief and depression. He would have had someone to challenge his more extreme expectations of his children and his obsession with cultivating a perfect public image for the royal family. They would have gone on a lot more vacations.
Ayra would not have been expected to assume the social duties of a queen consort at age seventeen and could have concentrated more on working toward her own future, whatever that would be. She would have had less of an opportunity to work alongside her father (and develop as much of a closeness as they likely to have) and would have had continued difficulty in her relationship with Nyella, whom she never got along with. She would have been perhaps more eager to make a match and get out of the household.
Ateva would have been less expected to take on a maternal role with her younger siblings--although she probably would have done it anyway independently. She got along with Nyella better than Ayra, and a continuation of Nyella's seeming preference for Ateva might have caused friction between the sisters. Ateva's interest in her officer started around the time of an incident in which she was feeling resentful of being expected to make Mikaiah behave in public; this would not have been a problem with Nyella in the picture, and the relationship with the officer might never have happened.
Josiah would have been allowed to be a child for much longer and would have continued to cultivate a warm relationship with his mother. He would have been significantly less cold and detached and stressed by the weight of expectations. Nyella would have curbed some of Odren's harsher methods of parenting him, but she might have also got in the way of some necessary discipline, and he might have been even more spoiled. She wouldn't have allowed Odren to send him to school any earlier than necessary. He would have come home for Christmas every year. "Disappointment builds character" would have been unthinkable.
Mikaiah would have grown up with a warm, loving mother who would have allowed him to be a child as long as possible. He wouldn't have been overlooked by the rest of the family, and he and Josiah would have been on much better terms, possibly even good friends. He would not have been the only member of the family with any apparent acquaintance with happiness.
Tamett would have had a maternal figure in the royal household and someone who would have advocated for cultivating an actual friendship between him and Josiah (remember, the companion role was Nyella's idea).
Nyella herself would have been happily stargazing and supporting arts and sciences and representing Lienne alongside Odren and raising her boys (and any further children they might have had?) but probably also struggling with the demands of a position she wasn't raised for. She and Odren love each other a lot but would have their share of difficulties--the age gap, the differences in their natures, disagreements about raising the children. Sending Josiah away to school would be very hard on her.

“sweet dreams, girls” you whisper to ayra and ji-eun who have just laid down for their nap and once they’re asleep, you head to jaehan’s room to put him to sleep for his nap too. you spend a little time with jawon who was studying about different types of fruits he could grow in the garden and you offered to help him plant the seeds with him. next is areum who was already asleep by the time you went to check on her and last was ae-cha who was talking with her brother who had a face full of tears.
“ae-cha? jinseoul? what’s wrong?” you worriedly ask. “you and dad…jinseoul said you guys are going to divorce” she cries.
“what? wh-no! no, of course we aren’t”
“but you guys hate each other. y-you hate him don’t you, mom? i’m sorry, it’s all my fault. i ruined you relationship with him and—,” jinseoul cries and you pull both of your children in for a hug to console them.
“your father and i are not going to divorce. we’re just..i’m upset at your father, that’s all. what we have going on has nothing to do with what happened, seoul i promise. it’s not your fault. neither of you are to blame”
“but do you hate him?” ae-cha sniffles.
“no no no no. i do not hate your father. i love him but your mother just needs some space from him”
“s-space?”
“that’s all, i promise. i’ll to him tonight. now, stop crying”
jinseoul and ae-cha nod their heads before wiping their tears away. you press a kiss to both of their heads of promise them that everything between you and jungkook will be okay. you’re upset at him, deeply upset but for the sake of your children, you will work through this.
after consoling your children, you find yourself going to the garden to clear your mind a bit and to your surprise, there’s jungkook sitting down with his long, fluffy locks of hair blowing in the wind.
it must be a sign that you should talk about it right now instead of holding if off for later on. you let out a sigh and slowly stalk closer to jungkook and the closer you get to him, you hear crying. his crying.
once you’re close enough, you take a seat next to him and lean your head on his shoulder.
“i think i’m ready to talk now” you say. you don’t give time for jungkook to respond, you just let it out. how you’ve been feeling, what you’re thinking, everything.
he’s always wanted to know what goes on in that head of yours anyways and so here it is, you just hope he won’t hate you afterwards.
“i’m upset at you but it’s not just you. i’m happy our son made it out alive, i really am but what you told me that day made me feel so..it made me want to scream at you because you were actually going to leave me with six kids, a kingdom i don’t know the first thing about, and ae-cha who would need her father to help her. i get it, he’s our first born. he’s the reason why he has six other siblings but we’re blessed to have more than one child. if you don’t want to push through for me, that’s fine but please try for our kids because they are the ones who need you the most and it’s like you completely abandoned that. i’m also upset at myself because i feel like i could’ve intervened and had i paid more attention, then i could’ve stopped nami and jinseoul for meeting or i could’ve found out more about the girl. i’m just upset about everything, okay? i’m upset at you, i’m upset at jinseoul, but i’m mostly upset at me because i failed him…i failed as a mother and i’ve been beating myself up about it almost everyday because i feel like a failure. your turn, tell me how you feel about everything. are you mad? are you upset? disappointed? tell me, just vent it out”
~🫧
He cannot believe that you’re here with your head on his shoulder and you are actually talking to him, Jungkook immediately starts to sniffle. he’s been crying for the past six minutes or so and his tears won’t stop. He feels like a child over again.
He feels like the child who used to cry whenever his mother had to go somewhere, and he would cry uncontrollably, and he remembers how much his father hated when he did that.
Jungkook doesn’t want you to go, so please just forgive him and don’t leave him, your silence is the worst punishment than you leaving him. He likes it when you’re chirpy and you’re always talking.
“Y-Yn I’m sorry that I always make you sad, but- my father always taught me to protect what is mine and kill anyone that gets in the way of that- he taught me how to kill yn. It’s all I know from him.” Jungkook sighs after he sniffles. “ I couldn’t bear the loss of our son… he was the reason you started loving me. I was so happy the day he was born… when I saw him like that? I just wanted to kill myself right there.” He isn’t looking into your eyes because he feels so guilty and so ashamed.
He is a 42 year old man who is happily married with seven kids, but who is too immature. Seriously who would want to be with him? His daddy issues, and mommy issues are very severe.
How do you put up with him?
“I…. React to things and in a drastic way you know that.” He scoffs at his own self, because he’s exhausted by himself too. “ I thought of everything bad I did in that moment and I thought that he was dead because of me so I just thought I would be bad or dead so the rest of my children won’t have to face my karma for the things that I did not them.”
You are listening to him without interrupting, you are so kind to him. “ I love you so much, and I love our children so much, and I feel guilty for killing that girl, even though she deserved to die, but when I saw the Look in jinseouls eyes I felt like I fucked up..” that is heavy on his heart too.
“I… I have made a decision yn..” jungkook closes his eyes and wipes his tears, taking a moment to breathe, because it’s hard for him to get the next words out.
He feels like he’s choking.
“I-If you want to leave me, I won’t stop you.. I swear I’ll divorce you if you want.. I know that’s not in customs, but fuck the customs. You deserve to be happy and if you’re happy without me… I’m happy that you’re happy at the end of the day.”
And there, he goes all silent now.

after 3-4 years of not playing i redownloaded fe heroes after i saw the christmas dimitri design... on the plus side because i haven't played in so long, i have like 3 yrs' worth of paralogues to farm orbs from soooo guess who got dimitri 3 times ^___^
Tumblr media
considering how last time i played "seriously" aka actually paid any attention to stats/strategy for building a unit was 2017-18 with ayra, and how 44 spd stat was considered godtier back then..... ummm yeah dimitri is so busted LMFAO 😭 i'm not going to play feh seriously or consistently again but it is satisfying seeing him oneshot entire enemy teams much like in fe3h... i think once i'm free from my job at the end of the month i might try drawing the christmas units (i just don't have time to do full illusts in any capacity rn).
he actually came home on my fourth summon attempt which was such a pleasant surprise!!!!! getting the second dimitri took a while though. and then i hit 40 summons and got him for free for #3. i can prob keep going to 80 by the end of the weekend honestly lol
but yeah like ummmmmmmm 🥰😍 that atk is so sexy with the bonuses/skill modifiers (and i still haven't maxed out his skills since i need to grind for sp, but no rush obv)
Tumblr media
and then this was from grinding him at lvl 26 vs a lvl 40 enemy lol
Tumblr media
honestly with the whirlwind of irl happenings/shit the past few months i've been taking a break from fandom, so i kind of forgot how much i missed chris hackney's dimitri voice acting and just... dimitri in general? his voice lines are so funny and charming i really do love dimitri still at the end of the day... the way he goes, "BLESSED NIGHT!" when you initiate a battle is so funny, dimitri is so weird/endearing.
i managed to pull the christmas byleths too
Tumblr media
i wish the duo unit had more movement bc i really dread tank units but the christmas tree-esque outfits + the house head plushies that come out in the special attack art are soooooo cute. i wasn't particularly trying for byleth but managed to pull since a couple of my summons didn't have any green heroes to pick from, so it all works out!
usually when i get kind of into gacha nowadays (very rare, but prsk/hsr this year for like, 2 week durations lol) it's very easy for me to drop $15-20 (i don't go beyond that though) but i'm pretty chuffed i got these just by grinding... the banner's up for like another month anyways so i can just take my time going through the paralogues and farming orbs for more dimitris to pass the time lol

I’m interested in seeing what prompts/scenarios you’d do for these Finn pairings since I found your Erinys x Finn series captivating and fitting for both characters:
Finn x Ayra
Finn x Edain
Finn x Tailtiu
Finn x Brigid
I'm glad you asked. To be honest, I'm not particularly interested in any of these with the possible exception of Finn/Brigid but I'll go through them one by one. (Spoilers ahead)
Finn/Ayra has probably had the most fan-content of these four, funny enough - mostly Japanese fanart. (It makes sense given that Ayra is perhaps the most popular Gen 1 female and Finn is the most popular non-Sigurd Gen 1 male.) I think this is perhaps the most realistic of the four to happen too. Yes, Ayra is a princess and Finn is a commoner, but Ayra isn't exactly surrounded by Isaachian nobles. She's estranged from everyone else so perhaps she could get with Finn? Larcei and Scathach being twins also helps the timeline because there's no need to worry about how and when two children are conceived and birthed. Sadly, the Finn/Larcei convo in Chapter 7 is rather generic, but it would be interesting. I actually think it's possible they wouldn't hate Finn, moreso that they thought he was dead and were surprised to find out he was alive. So a Finn/Ayra story, maybe it could involve Larcei and Scathach being excited to learn from their father and maybe being envious of him.
Finn/Edain is decent for continuity as well. How they fall in love, well, maybe Ethlyn and Edain were childhood friends and that's how he meets her, so arguably it's more likely than Finn/Ayra. And one could also say Lester has his hair color from Finn, though he clearly looks more like Lex. Still, this probably has the least fancontent of any of Finn's possible pairings in FE4. And again, Finn/Lana in Chapter 7 is generic but Lana would probably be understanding. I don't think Edain would harbor bad feelings against Finn for abandoning her like some of his other possible partners would, but Lester might end up getting a bad impression anyway. Perhaps that could cause some tension between the siblings in a story as well.
Finn/Tailtiu...the age old problem of how you fall in love with someone on the complete opposite side of the map. Tailtiu is the closest in age to Finn of these four, but I still find it hard to see her fall in love with him. On the surface she is less mature than him and I'm unsure if they ever spend enough time together to where Finn could really discover Tailtiu's true self (this is something that I really like about Azelle/Tailtiu). Like many Finn pairings, this one almost certainly requires a "one-night stand" use a euphemism for something very crude. I think such a pairing could explore both of them being thrust into maturing. And then there's the question of the kids. Arthur, already someone who has a lot of animosity towards his mother's family, now having animosity towards his own father. Well, maybe. I think it's a coin flip as to whether Arthur thinks that Finn is to blame or that the Empire is to blame for him being orphaned, either one works.
Almost all of the content with Finn/Brigid revolves around Finn/Eyvel, but let's focus on the Finn/Brigid dimension at least. Obviously Finn/Brigid implies that Finn gets the feels upon meeting his partner having completely lost her memory and I'm sure everyone knows how that goes, but what about the before-amnesia part? Brigid would almost certainly feel that the rug was swept from under her - she just met her sister again, married a guy and had two kids, and then he goes off to Leonster right after (or before) the second one is born. Tragedy! Would she have ill will once she regains her memory seven years after the end of the Holy War? Probably not, but that's because she's older and saw Finn's dedication while she was still Eyvel.

"Deirdre," Ayra approaches her friend with a smile, a wooden horse in one hand and a bouquet of wildflowers in the other. She herself has not yet given birth, but she finds joy in her friend's joy; she hopes that Deirdre will not mind that one of the gifts for her special day is meant for her infant son instead. "Since most of my skills involve blades," she winks, "I thought to carve a toy for your Seliph. As for the flowers... Well, I don't know the first thing about them, but I hope the ones I plucked are alright anyway. They could be weeds for all I know," she laughs before embracing Deirdre. "I had to get you something on this joyous day, though. Happy birthday, sister."
Ayra manages to find Deirdre in a moment of peace. An infant Seliph sleeps soundly in a bassinet by her bed and his tired mother is finally able to stretch out and relax with a book. It is difficult work taking care of someone so small and perhaps she does not help herself by refusing to allow him from her sight. There are many people who have offered to help her so she can take care of herself but she simply misses him too much. That and a dark cloud of worry threatens to overtake her that she might, one day lose him.
Do all new mothers feel such things?
Her face brightens when Ayra enters her room and grows brighter still to know her friend is not only thinking about her birthday but her darling son as well. She takes the horse first, running her hands over its smooth and polished surface. The craftsmanship is fantastic and she knows that love has gone into each stroke of Ayra's knife against the wood. "This is lovely. Have you shown Lord Sigurd yet? A little horse for little Seliph. Just like his father's!"
The flowers bloom in all sorts of shapes and colors and Deirdre knows they will brighten up the drab castle room. Even if Ayra claims she does not know about their meaning, Deirdre can appreciate that her friend would arrive to do something she knows she loves. "There is beauty in weeds, I think. They are strong and resilient, bringing their brightness to even the darkest and most drab places. I have always found them to be just as precious as any other flower. Thank you...sister."

REVIEWING THE CHARTS: 16/09/2023 (Olivia Rodrigo, V, Leigh-Anne/Ayra Starr)
Content warning: Brief sex references
For a second week, Doja Cat grabs the #1 with “Paint the Town Red” - welcome back to REVIEWING THE CHARTS!
Tumblr media
Rundown
As always, we start every episode of this show - however much of a non-event - with our notable dropouts, songs exiting the UK Top 75, which is what I cover, after five weeks in the region or a peak in the top 40. We don’t have much here but they are some heavy-hitters we say farewell to: “Pink” by Lizzo, “I Can See You” by Taylor Swift, “Padam Padam” by Kylie Minogue and finally, “People” by Libianca
As for our gains and returns, outside of the top 40, not much happened in this week’s chart, and even then, the top 40 happenings are mostly new entries. We do see Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” at #74, and as for our gains, we do see some notable boosts for “I Remember Everything” by Zach Bryan featuring Maggie Roggers at #45, "DNA (Loving You)" by Billy Gillies featuring Hannah Boleyn at #43, "City Boys" by Burna Boy at #23 and "Strangers" by Kenya Grace at #12.
This week’s top five of the UK Singles Chart actually had some decent change-up, particularly “Prada” by casso, RAYE and D-Block Europe at #5, “adore u” by Fred again.. and Obongjayar at #4, “bad idea right?” and “vampire” by Olivia Rodrigo off the album boost to #3 and #2 respectively - more on that later - and of course, Doja at #1. Now that’s out of the way, I suppose it’s time to talk about the new songs that entered this week.
NEW ARRIVALS
#55 - “Water” - Tyla
Produced by Sammy Sosa
That was a short introduction, wasn’t it? Usually the rundown is at least a bit longer, but this may be a short episode in general. We do have around seven new songs, but I can already tell not many of them will warrant all that much discussion. Anyway, whoever the Hell Tyla is, she definitely isn’t the Creator, because this song has many other writers, including names familiar to me like Tricky Stewart and Ari PenSmith. It’s not often that an R&B song, which it seems to be by the credits, blows up without name recognition here in the UK, except for like… Eamon but we don’t want him back so I was wondering how this would sound and… turns out it’s really good. It’s a lot funkier than I expected, going off a faster-paced almost dancefloor-ready house groove accentuated by Afrobeats-sounding percussion, in a style known as amapiano - we might have covered it here before. Hailing from South Africa, Tyla isn’t the most unique singer but she has enough little inflections to function within the pretty minimal song, even if there’s a bit more Auto-Tune than I’d want. Regardless, the harmonies are the tightest thing here, as the song is otherwise pretty loose and fun: not everything is perfectly on-beat, there’s random stray snares, cute 808 patterns mixed really low in the chorus and flailing vocal loops just developing outside of an otherwise set-in-stone sex jam, which is an approach I can appreciate for this “let’s make love right now, no questions asked” kind of content. That choir vocal chorus is absolutely infectious and even if the mix gets a bit muddier by the end, I think that actually makes the song feel more intimate and in tune with itself. The song isn’t exactly fully developed, I feel, and could use a proper climax bridge but is otherwise a pretty decent track I’m honestly surprised is here though I could see it lasting a lot longer. Just a bonus thought, I’d also love to hear Doechii on this. Remix, anyone?
#52 - “Tip Toes” - Clavish and Aitch
Produced by WhYJay and LiTek
Clavish making a song with Aitch is like Snorlax making a song with shiny Snorlax at this point. Aitch at one time was a charming, kind of obnoxious nuisance but he and ArrDee alike have quickly become indistinguishable rap stars. And Clavish, well… it’s Clavish. I did say last week that I’d like more 2000s G-Unit-type beats in British hip hop and this does deliver on that trend, with the stock steel pans and faux-luxurious pianos under a clapping beat that is overall pretty good. I’ll admit, WhYJay and LITek did a good job here, no-one else did. Clavish says a whole lot of nothing talking about girls, and well, at least Aitch says that he doesn’t do crypto. That’s… reassuring, I guess. He’s on full bore mode here though, just being dull and gross as usual. The hook isn’t even all that memorable, even if it at least has a much more substantial melody than a lot of UK rap hooks, so it might get stuck in my head. As a whole though, this is just not engaging at all to me.
#35 - “Bongos” - Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion
Produced by DJ SwanQo, Breyan Isaac and We Good
I’m sure a lot of people were expecting a sequel to “WAP” for this one and it most certainly took some people aback by not sounding like it at all. Sure, compositionally, it’s there - there’s a looping vocal sample, the song is structurally nonexistent and bass-focused but on the surface level, considering how it actually sounds, the two are night-and-day. For one, the vocal sample this time is a complete fragment under what sounds to me like a Brazilian funk beat, or maybe a dembow track, but still a minimal, incredibly annoying one, which is a shame because Cardi’s pretty fun on here with basic but memorable punchlines and sassy lines accentuated by her no-darns-given demeanour, which is kind of needed given the complete lack of a hook, and the fact that none of the dirty lyrics are remotely surprising anymore. Then Megan comes in, steals the show with an impeccable flow and commandeering presence on the track that almost makes the beat sound good. Truth is, just like “WAP”, without the overwhelming video, this song is just kind of nothing. By the end, Cardi’s repeating herself as much as the beat and Megan’s presence winds down into sharing verses and ad-libs, so it’s like one shining moment in a whole lot of sludge. Again, whilst it sounds nothing like “WAP”, I pretty much have the same opinion on it. Huh.
#34 - “Angry” - The Rolling Stones
Produced by watt
Oh, hey, the Rolling Stones! When’s the last time they charted? Must have been decades ago. Oh, 2020? Well, damn, nevermind then. This is their first time in the top 40 since 2005, though even that seems a bit recent. I guess these guys are still kicking in a major way… I never got them. I don’t think I like a single song from them that I’ve heard past “Paint it, Black” and that is including their other big hits. They’re one of the most legendary rock bands of all time, but I simply cannot get into them. Their newest single, propelled into the top 40 thanks to a livestream with Jimmy Fallon - wow, that aged quickly - is probably the worst place to start but it is produced by watt, who since working with Post Malone has kind of styled himself as a modern rock producer for older bands, and as you’d expect for a song by an aging rock band from the 60s written with a modern pop producer, it sounds completely competent and serviceable with very little risks. I will admit that riff is kind of incredible in just how simple yet earwormy it is, but the drums feel flat, the content isn’t exactly compelling and whilst Mick Jagger’s voice doesn’t so much signs of aging, it’s not like he wasn’t a nasal annoyance to begin with. That chorus especially feels like it has an unnecessary pop swell that could have been replaced with the drums going double-time or a crunchier guitar, something that would really make this rock, you know? This band would probably complain about songs on the radio not going hard enough, and I know their audience definitely does, but this one goes about as hard as a jaffa cake fresh out the box. I’ll give it to the Jagger-Richards writing duo though, they can still write catchy and sometimes just bizarre songs. “I’m still taking the pills and I’m off to Brazil”? You’re just gonna let that lyric sit there in the outro? Not rhyming it with anything even? Alright, man.
#28 - “My Love” - Leigh-Anne featuring Ayra Starr
Produced by PRGRSHN, Khristopher Riddick-Tynes, Alex Goldblatt and Magicsticks
Leigh-Anne’s follow-up to “Don’t Say Love” actually landing in the top 40 was kind of a surprise to me but she has more potential than Ms. Nelson so I’m not exactly complaining that she’s the solo act with at least a little longevity out of Little Mix. She even brings on Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, who I tend to like, so this could easily end up as a good song, though maybe not matching up to the Timberlake-T.I. collaboration of the same name (plug my 2006 list here)… and I mean, yeah, of course it is. The distant synth lead is backed by a slick guitar in a mix that eventually embraces all the elements of a good Afrobeats song: the layered percussion constantly bordering on both chill and tense, the choir vocals that are always just a winner for me, it’s all here. In fact, Leigh-Anne and Ayra Starr do a little back-and-forth throughout pretty much the entire song and it’s wonderful. The song’s lyrics are where it might miss out just a bit, largely because there’s nothing too unique or poetic about the love she’s giving here, even if the very female-centred perspective is refreshing. I’m more focused on how well the ladies’ vocals blend, the way they play off the bass and rhythm so tightly, the echoing backing vocal from Ms. Starr in the chorus, the breathy ad-libs after the first chorus that just flutter effortlessly off of the drums, pretty much everything else. This is a rather detailed song in terms of throwing a lot of proven pop and Afrobeats tropes but with immense sound design, and the production here from the quartet we have is genuinely impressive, not that our performers aren’t, because Leigh-Anne kills it with her bombast and Ayra is the perfect vocalist to play off that, because of how relaxed as well as just slick and fast she can be at her best, cool dripping off her constantly. This is an excellent song through and through so I’m glad it’s here - whether it’ll last has yet to be seen, and since “Don’t Say Love” tumbled second week, I have my concerns but I hope this continues to chart because it’s fantastic.
#24 - “Slow Dancing” - V
Produced by freekind. and FRNK
Our latest BTS member to chart with a solo hit, this is V, who recently released his debut solo EP, Layover, this being one of the singles it produced. Once again, I find myself kind of at odds with the direction BTS members are going in, with this feeling like a bit too programmed version of a smooth R&B song, which V doesn’t fit just as well as he wants to. Now I’m still a sucker for smooth R&B jams so I end up still liking the melodious elements of this, like those cheesy strings and the jauntling keys jammed under a pretty remote, stagnant-sounding drum pattern. In fact, the chorus just worsens it, as I’ve yet to fully understand why the synth his producers chose sounds like a video game sound font for a glass or smoke sound effect instead of, you know, a synth. V’s performance isn’t bad, even if it’s stuck between sounding like other guys - YUMDDA and Joji come to mind - and being so laidback that it kind of stifles much of the emotion - so it gets off the intimacy pretty okay and… okay, that flute is beautiful. That flute solo is incredibly gorgeous and has no business being in such a song. It caught me way off guard originally and honestly it’s such a shame there aren’t punchier organic drums or an actually bearable synth for it to lay upon. I did listen to the “piano version” out of curiosity - it is considerably worse thanks to the lack of flute, but is mostly the same and suffers from a lot of the same problems, just being kind of identity-less, lacking in second drafts. I wish I could like this more but yeah, it’s not it for me. Sorry.
#7 - “get him back!” - Olivia Rodrigo
Produced by Dan Nigro, Alexander 23 and Ian Kirkpatrick
The intro to this song is Alexander 23 asking if it’s “the song with the drums”. What do you mean, the song with the drums? You made a rock album, Mr. 23, most of the songs have drums. Anyway, I think it’s no surprise that O-Rod’s #1 album GUTS did not appeal to me, as the teen melodrama didn’t wear off whilst a lot of the rawer pop catharsis I feel has, replaced with a sheen that wants to be taken off by sheer emotion but just never finds it footing as anything else other than a faint desire. There’s something raucous and real in here, it’s just not coming out thanks to clumsy (yet unique and very easily recognisable) writing, softened blows of buzzy production that only fully rip on occasion and honestly shoddy sequencing. “get him back!” is a pretty good example, given the drums and fuzz that would go harder if it weren’t for O-Rod being the Beastie Boys for Gen Z girls for whatever reason in those verses, and a kind of bratty chorus that just doesn’t resonate with me on any significant level. I understand it fits with the pathetic, vengeful content, but it’s also just not something I’m going to appreciate, especially not with those faint “ohs” in the verses that seem like last-minute attempts to add a distinct melody, and a bridge that started as a cool a capella idea and ends up as just a mess, not consolidating into the uppercut she mentions because of how she’s not front-and-center in that weak final chorus, and the… can you call it a guitar solo if it’s basic, I can barely hear it, and it’s drowned out by rambling? This isn’t my thing, probably never will be and it’s a shame because I can tell everyone involved is talented, I just don’t think this is ever going to appeal to me. I did like the opener though, and “pretty isn’t pretty”, mostly because I feel like they had a bit more to say. Otherwise, yeah, I’m not a fan.
Conclusion
I might just be getting old - I feel like the amount of songs I consider middling has increased a lot in the past couple months. With that said, nothing here is bad so I probably have to half-sincerely give Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion the Dishonourable Mention for “Bongos”, even though the song’s mostly just decently pestering, whilst Worst of the Week goes to “get him back!” by Olivia Rodrigo, as you should probably expect by now. It’s the only song this week I feel actively fails at what it’s trying to do. The best falls out a lot easier: Best of the Week goes to Leigh-Anne for “My Love” featuring Ayra Starr - by far - and the Honourable Mention ends up going to Tyla with “Water”, I think I’ll check out more of her stuff. For now though, thanks for reading. I’ll see you next week!

tag game: 10 songs, 10 people
Thank you for the tag @rudeneles!
Name of the game: put a playlist on shuffle and list the first 10 songs that come up. Describe how they relate to your WIPs or worldbuilding. I will be pulling from the Menodora playlist,
Dreams of An Absolution - LB (remix factory): WHY DID MY PLAYLIST USE THIS SONG AGAIN oh my GOD. Anyway. This song shares Menodora's more innocent views on being the chosen one, probably how she would have described it as a kid
Trust Me Not (Hero and Villain Duet) - Backseat Vagabond: The "villain" in the song is Menodora and the "hero" in the song could be either the adults who've failed Menodora or Apollo. Take that as you will.
Deep End - Fousheé: Menodora's horrible mental state visualized in song form. One of many.
The Rockrose and the Thistle - The Amazing Devil: This song has made me cry so many times. Anyway, this song visualizes Menodora's grief. I'd say it's the parts of her that are quiet and lonely and failing. Like there's broken pieces of her that shine and are pretty--almost to the point people would praise her for being broken because she's so "beautiful"-and then there's the dull parts of her brokenness that aren't helpful to other people and just hurt.
Curses - The Crane Wives: Like the song before, but she's pretending it doesn't hurt, if that makes sense? Like she's smiling through the tears and making them easier for others.
Money, Money, Money - ABBA: Menodora has had some privilege before, but for her it's been fleeting. It was a loan and not really something she was allowed to keep. So it's interesting--and difficult--for her to watch the people around her have privilege that they were born into and will always have.
FOR YOUR LOVE - Måneskin: This song is mostly for vibes, but I'm going to be so honest Menodora has a warped view of love
good 4 u - Olivia Rodrigo: So many things, but mostlyyy anger at the people who abandoned her after praising her so much. "maybe I'm too emotional/but your apathy is like a wound in salt/maybe I'm too emotional/or maybe you never cared at all." AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Bring Me to Life - Evanescence: 🤡Cough so uh this song is meant to visualize her inner pain like Curses and The Rockrose and the Thistle, but she's being more teenager about it. Like, it's supposed to show her immaturity, because she should be immature, because she's a child.
ASE - A COLORS SHOW - Ayra Starr: Ngl this song is just Menodora either having a rare happy moment or having a more common delusion of grandeur.
No pressure tagging: @serenanymph, @mjjune, @hallwriteblr, @churchofcrows, and whoever else wants to join!

Lovely Mermaid Coord
Happy Birthday to my OC Ayra! I’m really proud of this, but it took so much time and brain power to complete because I had to figure out all the layers and their groupings to animate Ayra skeletally for my song on YouTube 😟 !! Anyway, it’s all over now so I can look at it without worrying 😊
Oh, and this is the link to my song btw: https://youtu.be/QeQkNqY6U40

FE4 GEN 1 OPINIONS: CHARACTERS
OK SO
I just beat FE4 like a while ago.
Here are my opinions on gen 1
Sigurd
He's a good lord, both character and unit wise. I like him a lot.
Naoise
He was cool, but really? Only ONE conversation/line? Really?? He needed better. Unit wise he was ok.
Alec
He was cool, and getting two conversations is better than one! I kept him with an iron sword most of the Gen, for no reason. Ugh.
Arden
I tried my best to make you work and almost succeeded...but...it just didn't happen. You could do damage but you were just too slow! I like his character a lot unironically.
Quan
Not bad. Definitely needed more defense, but I like him. He's relationship with fin was great.
Ethlyn
Pretty much always useful in most situations I had her in, and promoted before she...uhh... y'know.
Finn
Finn did great, but suffered more from the needing more defense thing. I like him a lot. Promoted.... eventually. Almost married him to Lachesis but....I failed...
Azelle
He's just nice! I like him! Also he was a good mage, and eventually mage knight. Married him to Aideen.
Lex
My first promotion. DAMN was he good! Paragon plus brave axe is just too amazing. Married to Ayra.
Midir
MIDir was mid. He did his job but never did it well enough. And yet...I like him a little bit. Enough to marry him to Brigid for some reason. That was kinda dumb...
Edain
One of my types is just pretty priestly women. She's my type. I like her. Married to Azelle.
Dew
I wanted to make you useful BUUT you were too weak and I didn't do the easy strat of just... leaving you alone in the woods. He goofy. Married to Sylvia.
Ayra
She's just good. We all knew this. Married to Lex for that sweet sweet BRAVE SWORD.
Jamke
He's good, but doesn't do much outside of his chapter. Needed a bit more character. But as a unit he's awesome, and surprised me with his tanking abilities.
Deirdre
Plot device woman sure was a plot device.Who could've guessed? She's pretty and does damage.
Lachesis
I was promised depression and only got spunk. Not disappointed but she's great. Almost married to Finn, but Beowulf was there to tell her to go get him anyway.
Chulainn
Annoying to recruit because Luna, but great to use because Luna. He certainly was a character in a game.
Beowulf
Decent enough. He did his job well, and I appreciate him for it. Married to Lachesis
Lewyn
No explanation needed. He was great all around. Married to Enryis.
Silvia
Dancer lady. She was never not useful and had a charming character to boot. Married to Dew.
Enryis
As the only flier in gen 1, I LOVE HER! She did amazing! Proud of her ass. Married to Lewyn
Brigid
She's a great archer and a cool character. Needed something more than pursuit to be more special though, but idk what else to give her. Married to Midir
Tailtu
She's neat. I like her character a lot. She wasn't really fun to train tho...like at all. Cuz I just had to reset a bunch and hope a 60 percent didn't hit her. Married to Claud
Claud
He's a character who I surprisingly liked alot. Spiritual characters are neat. A shame he's really only a healbot. It make it harder to use him. He did get to level 30 tho. Married to Tailtu

This is why I’m so happy that artists like Ayra Starr, who’s a Nigerian singer can make money off her CULTURE! Why should wh!te people who have no tie to African, Caribbean, African American or various Latino cultures, get to make money off a group of people that they aren’t from? When they make it big they always ditch whatever phase they were apart of anyways to uplift and support their own people. As much as I like Dhúrata’s music and think she’s adorable, that’s all she’s doing, just like the rest of them. This is why I love that Santa was created 🤣 Those African roots came out in that song from ALL THREE of them and it’s good that people who actually come from countries where their music is popular should make money off their OWN culture and heritage! 🤗I personally hope that more African artists make music with Latinos, they make good songs together.

I was happy to see @awesomebutunpractical's OC Scenario Template come around again, because it's so much fun. So here's another variation with my OCs (I'll do another with five others later).
Bethira and Josiah both are in a hurry and practically bump into each other when they get to the door. What happens?
They are both very apologetic. Josiah is rather embarrassed. Bethira makes a point of asking if he's all right? Did she hurt him accidentally? No, he's fine.
Antavia and Rietta are in an argument. What could it be about? Just to smooth things out, Ayra walks in on them.
Rietta said something flippant about some form of art (a painting? a play? a book? doesn't matter) that Antavia sees as Serious Business, she took this as a Declaration of War, and she's lecturing Rietta on the artistic merit of this thing while Rietta continues to insist that it doesn't matter. Ayra walks in on this, hears what they're discussing, and turns right around and leaves. She doesn't have time for this nonsense.
Antavia needs a confidant and the options are Bethira and Josiah. Who’s it gonna be? What circumstances would cause this to switch?
Bethira is the obvious choice. They're fairly close in age, they were at the same school, and Bethira knew all the people from Antavia's past who are dead now. Antavia sees Bethira as a victim of the system like herself and would love to try to get her out of it.
Fun fact: Josiah and Antavia are second cousins (her grandmother Edella was his grandfather's sister). But I have no idea what circumstances would lead her to confide in him. He would have no interest in anything she would have to say and nothing to offer that she would want to hear.
Josiah and Ayra are stuck in a body swap and now they need to impersonate each other. What are the traits they’d overplay to sell it? Who’d do the better job?
LOL! They're siblings who aren't on great terms, so they would both do the most overblown caricatures of each other. Ayra would portray Josiah as a self-righteous spoiled brat. Josiah would portray Ayra as cold, calculating, and obsessed with politics. I doubt either of them would be overly convincing, but Ayra's got more experience wearing a mask than Josiah, so I'll give it to her.
Rietta has lost something precious. There’s a pile of circumstantial evidence that Antavia is the thief. Does Rietta decide to trust Antavia anyway? Jump on the evidence and start the blame game? Is there enough trust there to label this a betrayal? Is Antavia actually responsible?
The second Rietta would find evidence that Antavia was the thief, she would angrily confront her without hesitation or further examination. They have no particular connection or reason to trust each other, so Rietta wouldn't consider it a betrayal exactly, just extremely wrong behavior. This would be a terrible choice, because Antavia would get defensive and also angry, and there would be a whole Incident. Whoever the thief was, it wouldn't really be Antavia, who, whatever her faults, would not resort to theft.
Ayra, Antavia, and Bethira are all out in the middle of nowhere and they stumble onto a very suspicious bag of money. What does each of them think of the situation? Can they agree on what to do?
Ayra would find it suspicious but be too savvy to get involved herself; she'd figure out a way for the proper people to address the situation. Bethira would be concerned for whoever must have lost so much and outraged that someone would apparently steal like that. Antavia would think the whole thing was hilarious and make it one of her celebrated party anecdotes.
Josiah and Rietta are, for the sake of this question, arch-enemies. For reasons they care about, they have to play nice with each other for a dinner. How well does each pull it off? Does Bethira pick up on the tension in the room?
I have no idea why they would be enemies; canonically Josiah will develop a bit of a crush on her. But whatever the case, he would be painfully polite to her at this dinner, while she would be seething with rage--it's harder for her to conceal feelings, especially strong dislike. Bethira would definitely pick up on this and employ all her tact to try to defuse the situation.
There is a bug! A particularly big, spiny, potentially venom filled specimen. Bethira and Antavia are in the room with the little guy, and Josiah, Ayra, and Rietta are in the next room over. What happens?
Bethira would find the creature distasteful but conceal her disgust and calmly ring for someone to come and dispose of the bug. Antavia would probably be inspired to write a poem in which the bug is a metaphor for something.
Let’s cast Josiah as a detective and Ayra as the assistant. What could this look like? How effective would they be?
This would look awful. Both of them like to be the smartest person in the room, and Ayra wouldn't take kindly to being an assistant. She would constantly be trying to put the annoyingly smug Josiah in his place, and he would argue. They wouldn't get anything done.
Antavia is jealous of Bethira. What’s causing this? How is this expressed? How honest is Antavia about these feelings?
Is there anything for her to be jealous of? Bethira is trapped in a system that Antavia escaped, suffered through two unhappy marriages, and only has her two sons left, neither of whom seem to like her much. But Antavia truly does come to like Delclis and Elystan, so maybe she envies Bethira the opportunity to be their mother. Antavia would make no secret of her feelings--she'd be dramatic and sarcastic and spiteful to Bethira about it--but wouldn't be honest enough to address the root of the problem. It's all Bethira's fault for having amazing sons and then failing them. Antavia would never!
Say Rietta really has to hype up Bethira to Josiah. Is this going to be easy? Sincere? How convincing would this all be for Josiah? What if Bethira overheard the hype session?
Josiah canonically meets Bethira before he meets Rietta, so this wouldn't really fit, but if it were the other way around...I don't know that Rietta has particularly strong feelings one or another toward Bethira, but she can be enthusiastic when needed. Josiah would be ready to take The Most Fascinating Girl In The World at her word. And Bethira would be puzzled and embarrassed if she overheard.
Antavia and Ayra are now trapped in the Cave of ‘You’re Stuck Here Until You Resolve Some Character Conflict’. What would they need to talk about? What would they need to hear? How long will this take?
Ayra has zero tact sometimes, and she let slip some critical remark about Antavia's failing to do her duty to her country. Antavia is deeply offended (Corege failed her!). So they would need to address their different approaches to life. Ayra would need to hear that she should have been kinder and that the expectations her father raised her with are/were not especially healthy. Antavia would need to hear that she could stand to be more altruistic, even though she isn't on active royal duty anymore. Unfortunately, neither of them have the emotional intelligence and self-awareness to discuss this productively, and so they're stuck in that cave for a long time.
Gift Exchange! Rietta got Josiah in the Secret Santa. How easy will this be? How much effort is Rietta going to put into this? What will Josiah think of the gift?
Rietta would be excited to choose a gift for a child! She selects some toy that she enjoyed at Josiah's age, something that requires a lot of physical activity. She's sure he'll love it. He will thank her politely and never touch the gift again--a bit insulted that Rietta thinks of him as a kid.
Neither Josiah nor Antavia believe in ghosts, but they happen to be in a very haunted house anyway. Who would figure out what’s going on first? Who would handle it better?
Antavia has the imagination to put it together first, but Josiah would handle it more calmly. He would be interested in formulating a plan, but she would be wrapped up in the Drama of it all.
Well! It looks like a couple of no good bad guys are trying to snatch Rietta. Why on earth would they do that? How much trouble would they have? What if Bethira got involved?
Rietta, as a monarch, would be a valuable pawn to a kidnapper. They would have a lot of trouble, even if they could get past her guards, because Rietta would try to fight them off or escape at every opportunity, and she's very angry and boundlessly energetic, and who could keep up with that. She's exhausting! Bethira might get involved if Corege had some connection to the crime. She would handle the incident with authority and dignity.
Ayra and Rietta have been assigned the Those Two Guys role. Whatever part of the story they play, the other tends to be around too. Would this be a voluntary arrangement?
They don't even live in the same country, so this wouldn't be a practical arrangement. Maybe Ayra would be there for diplomatic purposes? Rietta would be thrilled to have a cousin on hand (Ayra's mother was her great aunt), but I think Ayra would get tired of her pretty quickly.
What kind of age gap is there between Antavia and Josiah? What if this was exaggerated? Switched around? What kind of dynamic would you get with an old Antavia and a young Josiah?
Antavia is nearly thirty-six years older than Josiah--old enough to be his mother. If this were exaggerated, she would be more of a great-aunt-figure. Switched around, Josiah would be a conventional and stuffy adult who finds this free-spirited little girl's antics tiresome and lectures her constantly about appropriate behavior. They would probably hate each other. They would probably be each other's nemesis. Josiah would be the sort of adult to have a ridiculous vendetta against a child.
What’s something both Bethira and Ayra find hilarious? Would they enjoy sharing it? What would Antavia think of it?
Ayra's got a hidden mischievous side, but I don't know if she and Bethira would really share a sense of humor. I have no idea what Bethira would find funny; she probably hasn't been allowed to have a sense of humor for a very long time. Antavia, however, can find anything amusing as long as it's at someone else's expense, so she would laugh.
Rietta and Ayra are in an on-going disaster together. Who’s handling it better? Is there a clear leader between them? Are they working together or cracking under the stress?
Rietta would be the quickest-acting; Ayra would be more strategic and practical. Both of them would be trying to lead, which would be a bit of a problem, and they'd end up arguing a lot.
Let’s say Josiah was leading a team built from Antavia, Rietta, and Bethira. Would this position be more likely to be earned, elected, granted by a higher authority, or self-proclaimed? How would you rank Josiah’s leadership skills? Is there anyone in the underling trio who objects? Anyone who's particularly loyal? How functional would the team be overall?
I have no idea what circumstances would lead to this; he would be the only male and might consider that his claim to authority, but Rietta is a reigning monarch, Bethira has been married to two kings and is the mother of another king, and Antavia used to be a monarch. They almost all outrank him. So we'll say that this leadership is self-proclaimed. His leadership skills are big on plans and procedures, but he's a bit too full of his own importance to really be effective. Rietta and Antavia refuse to listen to him. Bethira treats him like a child who needs her help. This would not be a functional team.
Ayra’s been left out of the day’s shenanigans. Is this taken personally? What level of solo shenanigans will they get into if left on their own?
She would not take it personally as long as the shenanigans did not involve anything she has an interest in. She probably went off by herself voluntarily and had some low-key adventures of her own, which she will never tell anyone about.
If you had to choose a babysitter between Antavia and Josiah, who would it be? Who would Ayra choose?
Honestly, I would have Josiah babysit. He has no experience, but he has a greater sense of responsibility than Antavia and would at least make an effort to perform the task well. Would he succeed? Probably not. But Antavia would be trying to palm the child off on somebody else.
Ayra would choose Josiah. Just to make him miserable.
Alright, let’s swap Ayra and Bethira’s stories for a moment. Would they get along with the other’s supporting cast? What’s one big way the stories would change?
Ayra and Bethira are both driven by a sense of duty, but circumstances would make their stories play out very differently. Bethira's looks were (unfortunately) a major factor in both Talfrin's and Andras's wanting to marry her, and Ayra is considered plain by the standards of her day. But let's say they were both still attracted to her. Andras marries her only to find out that she cannot have children (SPOILER: Ayra has a condition now known as MRKH syndrome, in which she was born without a uterus). Delclis is never born, and Andras dies disappointed at having no heir. Talfrin doesn't marry her, because she can't be of use to him. So Delclis doesn't exist, and Elystan's mother is someone else entirely. Ayra resumes a quiet, private life.
Meanwhile, Bethira is the eldest daughter of Odren and Liane and thus the chief bargaining chip for a dynastic marriage (since, unlike with Ayra, there's no concern about her ability to conceive). She is married off at the earliest opportunity--I don't know to whom. Probably not Viori, who would be a little too young for her. Is she happy? Well, that would depend. But hopefully there would be less drama in her life.
Would they get along with each other's supporting cast? Ayra probably would; Bethira probably would.
Ayra, Antavia, and Rietta have all been taken to a mysterious location, and separated. They have not seen their “hosts” yet, but have had time to think about the situation. When they are reunited, Rietta has been replaced with a slightly too friendly, but otherwise identical, impostor. Do the other two notice? Does the discussion turn to escape? If they realize Rietta is missing, what would the others do?
Ayra might notice; she's observant enough. Antavia would be too wrapped up in the Gothic Atmosphere. They might talk of escape, but Ayra is practical while Antavia lives in a fantasy world, so making plans might be difficult. Ayra probably would try to figure out what happened to Rietta; it's advantageous not to lose a significant political figure. But if worst came to worst, she wouldn't hesitate to leave Rietta behind if she felt it necessary. Antavia, meanwhile, would prefer to meet their hosts first.
What’s one goal that Josiah and Bethira could share? What would they think of each other’s methods of getting said goal?
They're both pretty onboard with her semi-adopting him during his time in Corege. Josiah probably wouldn't even realize she was doing it until he starts to get attached. She wishes he would be more upfront with his longing to have a caring parent again and more receptive to be treated like a close member of the family.

😂😂 it is weird now that i think about it
TC!dad!JK
“WELL YOUR FATHER IS DEAD, JUNGKOOK!! you’re a father now and you know i’d kill you if you had our son beheaded. we don’t even know if the child is his, remember?” you say while trying to calm down and it doesn’t help when jungkook asks if you’re even disappointed in your oldest child.
“i AM disappointed but jungkook, he’s young and in love. i’m not saying he’s right but we can’t just scream in his face like that. what if our son runs away? or worse, what if he never wants to talk to us again? i get you want another baby and one or two more does sound nice but right now, we have to focus on our potential grandchild” you say but despite your response, jungkook is still fuming and seems to be taking it out on you which you’re used to. it’s clear the both of you see parenting in two different views and this could be because of the upbringing you both had.
the classic authoritarian vs. authoritative and the picture of which is which is clear. maybe it’s because you weren’t born with noble blood is why this doesn’t seem like a big deal because having children before marriage seemed normal. your parents had you before they were married but jungkook wasn’t a commoner like you, so maybe you don’t understand.
“and where the fuck is he? I SWEAR TO GOD IF I FIND HIM NEAR THAT GIRL”
“calm down. he’s probably in his room. i’ll go check on him” you say as you leave yours and jungkook’s shared chamber to go and check on your son. it’s probably best if you talk to him anyways, so you calmly approach his door with intentions to simply talk with your son.
“jinseoul?” you knock on his door “jinseoul, can i come inside?” you ask but no response which is to be expected.
“son, you can’t evade your father and i forever” you say sweetly but still no response. you knock one last time and in a panic you open his door and find his bedroom to be empty. his bed is neatly made up, his clothes folded, and everything seems to be in place.
next, you explore ayra and ji-eun’s room, jawon’s, jaehan’s but there is still no sight of your oldest son. it’s not until you hear jungkook talking to ae-cha that you realize he might’ve found jinseoul and though he didn’t, he found something else.
he found out his daughter is one hell of a liar.
“i swear, dad!! i don’t know where he is!!” she says despite being fully aware of her brother’s whereabouts.
~🫧
He can’t believe that his sweet little girl is lying to him, but Jungkook is trying his best to keep his cool, he cannot lose it… you’re right.
There is no point in screaming, but he just came back from his trip of four months and his children are driving him insane.
Jinseoul has got a girl pregnant and Ae-Cha is blatantly lying to his face, and Jungkook resists the urge to roll his eyes at his daughter, “sweet girl don’t lie to me… he’s with that girl, is he not?” He asks, dangerously calm. How do you do it? How did you do it every time he was away?
Jungkook knows jinseoul very well, that’s his blood after all. He’s got his arms crossed across his chest and he’s almost about to scream at Ae-Cha when you come to him, your arm wrapping around his shoulder and you give it a firm squeeze before you take him away.
“Y-Yn Ae-Cha just lied to me.” He’s heartbroken, his tone is so low and soft which is definitely not like himself… “I-I’m not ready to be grandfather yet yn.” He looks at you with sad tired eyes.
“I-I wanted to be a father once more…. But- now..” he hands his head low, “o-our children are scaring me yn.” He finally breaks down in your arms as you both walk into your chamber, and he’s crying to you like a baby.
Your arms feel so secure and comfortable, he feels strangely protected, “y-yn… why?” He sobs, his arms tightly wrapped around your waist.
Why did Jinseoul have to do this?
