OKAY SO for the record store listening parties there was some prerecorded commentary by patrick and i don't remember all of what he said but i'm gonna try and list everything i can remember for those who didn't/couldn't make it! there will be NO ALBUM SPOILERS in this post other than to say it's really really really fucking good and i can't wait to shove the whole thing down my facehole properly when it comes out next week.
it wasn't a track by track commentary but there were a couple breaks between songs for him to talk and this is what i recall best:
when introducing the album patrick did the whole "so like, i know we're supposed to say we're proud of it. but we ARE. it was a group effort and i hope you guys like it :)"
before "hold me like a grudge" he said went on a big long ramble about "okay so i KNOW i said that other side was the last song we wrote before the record was done but that was actually wrong. this song was the last one to be added because i was driving home and i got a text of some lyrics from pete and i started writing the song at stoplights DONT DO THIS BY THE WAY and by the time i got home the song was done in my head DO NOT DO THIS DO NOT WRITE WHILE YOU DRIVE and then i called neal and said can we please please please add this one please and he said sure"
he kept punctuating this story with "DON'T FUCKING DO THIS I SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS DONT WRITE WHILE YOU DRIVE PLEASE"
the point is that hold me like a grudge was the last song to make the album though
there was one track, i won't spoil which one, where he said he worked super hard to play all the brass parts in the studio and then after he got done doing that they got an Actual Orchestra to play the brass parts and it was like professionals doing this at their studio and patrick was like "well. all right then!!!!"
another track (again, not saying which) had a piano part that he played and was really nervous about but he said neal got the best possible performance out of him!
there was one track he called his baby that he fought extra hard to keep on the record and i DON'T remember which one EDIT: It was "what a time to be alive"!!
during one song (i can't recall which) he talks about how andy had to switch drumkits mid-song specifically to go harder on certain sections
there was one song where he talked about how it was written before the pandemic but it ended up being weirdly clairvoyant lyrically. only he says that it was very "prescient" and then stumbles over the word "prescient" and confesses he doesn't know how it's pronounced because he's only seen and read it in print.
after the record was done he was like "so that was the record! and i hope you guys liked it. and if you didn't then um we have other records that you can listen to. instead. if you want to."
also a long ramble about how grateful he was for the fans and how it means the world that they can inspire anyone at all. he said that pete says it all the time but it's still true that the fans are everything to them. he mentioned not ever getting used to being a real big band like this and if he can do it then anyone can. "if my stupid face can make it on a teen magazine then so can yours!"
anyway bottom line patrick is a fucking nerd and it was so so so endearing to hear him talk about this record
if anyone remembers anything else that he said that i left out feel free to add but please no spoilers for the album itself! you can make your own posts for that and i just wanted to give a rundown for people who weren't able to attend a listening party <3

It's Only You I'm Dreaming Of
Tumblr media
Modern!Actor!Steve x Actress!Reader
18+
Handsome bastard.
You narrow your eyes as you watch him smile for all the waiting photographers before moving down the line to talk to the press.
He's so effortlessly charming it makes your blood boil. He drinks in all the adoration and praise, all with that same smirk plastered on his lips.
That same smirk you had to endure for months while on set with him, and after when he'd follow you back to your trailer, using his best lines to get you to let him inside. He eventually wore you down, as the second you let him in, he pounced on you. He kissed you with a ferocity you had never experienced before, which only made you want more.
He had a reputation, though, and you felt so naive letting him get close to you like this. You knew he was just using you for sex, like he presumably did with his other female costars, but you still gave into him anyway. You hated yourself for it, especially when you started to develop feelings for him. You tried to ignore them, by locking them away, and pretending they didn't exist.
That was somewhat easy, once production wrapped and you went back to L.A. while he went to New York. The distance helped and for the first time in months you were free of Steve Harrington. That was, until it was time for the film to be released and you would be forced to do press tours together. You dreaded seeing him again, afraid of relapsing into your former, weaker self. You told yourself it'd be different this time, you weren't going to fall into that trap again.
That proves impossible, as you practically melt when you see him again. You actually gasp when you see how gorgeous he looks. You quickly avert your eyes, the last thing you need is for him to catch you gawking at him. Despite your best efforts, he still sees you, as you both make your way down the red carpet.
After posing for several pictures, you step over for the first of many interviews. You are in the middle of answering their question of what it was like filming your first big feature, when you feel an arm slip around you and lips against your cheek.
"And here he is, the man himself," they say, their face lighting up at his presence. "What was it like working with this guy?" They then ask while you try to maintain a neutral expression.
"Oh, it was great," you smile. "Its every actors dream to get to work on a project like this and with a cast like this. I was truly fortunate to be apart of it."
"And Steve, what was it like working with her?"
"It was wonderful, she's a fantastic actress, seriously, one of the best I've had the privilege of working with," he says, looking at you, fondly.
"Early reviews are raving about your chemistry and I can see why," they continue. "You both seem so natural together."
Steve smiles at this while you try not to cringe.
You bullshit your way through the rest of the interview, before you and Steve are ushered into the theater. He stays by your side the whole time, much to your dismay.
"What was that back there?" You ask him as you take your seats.
"Just doing my job, making us look good," he answers.
"Yeah, but you didn't have to crash my interview..." you add, as the room darkens.
"I wanted to see you and I knew you wouldn't be able to ignore me, not in front of everyone and all those cameras," he smoothly says, leaning in close to your ear.
"You couldn't have just waited until after?"
"No, because I knew you'd keep avoiding me like you have been for months."
"I wasn't avoiding you, we were on different coasts-"
"Yeah, you were," he persists, trying to keep his voice down. "When I was in town for my buddy's birthday, I texted you and you blew me off."
"Can we not do this here?" You snap, turning your head to the side.
"We can talk after," he relents. "I missed you, y'know."
You scoff. "I'm sure you did."
He sighs, frustrated, before leaning back in his seat.
You sit there, fuming, your thoughts racing. You feel trapped as you look away from his towering image on screen, only to have the real thing sitting next to you. You notice, in your periphery, that he's practically pouting. Your body feels like it's on fire, pent up frustration is threatening to burn you from the inside out.
Surprising him, you lean over and whisper, "Want to get out of here?"
He nods, taking your hand and leading you up the aisle. He pulls you through the empty lobby then out onto the sidewalk. You can't help the exhilaration you feel as he continues to lead you across the street, to a newer, luxury hotel.
"You're not wasting any time," you laugh, as he leads you into the lavish lobby.
"I got a room here ahead of time, in case I didn't feel like going home after the after party," he explains, as you both stand in front of the elevators.
He presses the button, then turns to you.
"Oh..." you reply.
"This is a nice change of plans, though. I'd rather be with you, anyway," he adds, with a smile.
The elevator dings before its door slides open. He lets you walk in first, with him close behind. The numbered button lights up when he presses it, before the door closes. As the elevator ascends, he pins you against the wall.
"I really did miss you," he breathes, ghosting his lips over yours. "And despite your icy exterior, I know you missed me too."
"Steve..." you gasp.
"You look so good tonight, honey..." he says, his hands now squeezing your waist. "This sexy little dress...I bet you wore this hoping I'd notice, didn't you?"
You gaze at him, innocently.
"I know you did, fuck..." he sighs, as you finally wrap your arms around his neck. "I'm gonna make you mine tonight."
He then presses his lips to yours for a filthy kiss. It has you both moaning, realizing just how much you've missed the other. Your fingers scratch at the back of his neck, before curling in his hair.
The ding from the elevator snaps you both out of your lustfilled daze long enough for him to pull you into the hallway. You're each panting as he leads you to his room. He quickly takes out his phone and holds it over the small panel, above the doorknob, to unlock the door. Once it lights up green, he hastily opens it and drags you inside. He takes you straight to the bedroom, almost tripping several times, as he couldn't be bothered to turn on any lights.
He sits you on the bed, while he sheds his jacket. You take this opportunity to slip off your heels and lean back on your hands. There's faint light coming from the bedside lamp and now you can see that his shirt was partially see-through. You bite your lip, wondering if he wore that on purpose. He also takes off his shoes before kneeling on the bed, next to you. He reaches for you but you pull away to lay against the plush pillows. He then crawls over to you and hovers over you. His body engulfs yours as he lowers himself onto you. You wrap your arms around him again while he gazes down at you, hungrily.
"Always playing hard to get..." he chides.
You shrug, feigning innocence again.
"I know how much you love to tease me, honey..." he says, leaning in close, his voice low and sultry. "...it makes me ache for you even more."
He kisses you deeply, as you whimper against his lips. He grinds himself against you, emphasizing just what you do to him.
You hold him closer, as you make out, your earlier feelings now forgotten, because all that matters to you is him. You should be furious with yourself over how easily you gave into him again, but his lips feel so right on yours. You want more, though, your greedy thoughts taking over. You remember the delicious way he thrusted his hips, making you scream until you barely had any voice left.
Your hands move down his back until they're pulling at his shirt. Once it's untucked, you slide your hands under it and press them against his skin. He moans at the feeling of your fingertips gliding up his spine. Your nails claw at his back once, before he breaks the kiss.
"Get undressed, honey," he breathes, "I need to feel you."
You nod, before he leans up. You sit up and move to the edge of the bed.
"Can you unzip me?" You ask, glancing over your shoulder at him.
"Of course," he smiles, moving closer to you.
He pulls the zipper down, revealing your bare back. He sharply inhales at the sight. When you're fully unzipped, you stand and push your dress to the floor, leaving you in dainty, black panties. Steve's so mesmerized by you, that he can't help but stare. It actually makes you blush as you climb back onto the bed. He then quickly pulls his shirt over his head, ruffling his already perfectly messy hair. His fingers fumble with unbuttoning his pants at first, but he soon pulls them from his legs. You smile at his tiny, blue underwear as he joins you, on the bed.
He crawls on top of you and props his hands by your head, as he gazes at you.
"You're so fucking beautiful," he laments, lowering his body to yours. "After I left, I thought about you every night, looking up at me just like this...it's my favorite thing in the world."
He pauses to kiss you, lowly moaning into it.
"Do you believe me when I say I missed you, now?"
You nod.
"I need to hear you say it."
"I believe you," you say, reaching up to run your hand through his hair.
He smiles, leaning in to kiss you again.
"Now," he begins, leaning up, "until you admit that you missed me, too, I'm not going to touch you."
You look up at him, mouth slightly agape as you watch him move to sit beside your head, with his back resting against the pillows.
"Seriously?" You ask, sitting up and turning to face him.
He nods, as he palms himself through his underwear.
"You know what you need to do, honey...I want you to show me how much you missed me, too."
He's extra smug, leaning back, waiting for your next move. You narrow your eyes before crawling over to him. You kneel between his legs, then run your hands over his thighs. His eyes stay trained on you as you lean down, to press wet kisses to his inner thighs. You kiss your way up one then move to the other side, while he's quietly moaning above you. You glance up at him before pressing a kiss to his clothed length. He shudders at it as his hand immediately goes to cradle your face.
"God, you're so fucking gorgeous," he laments.
You continue kissing him through his underwear, until moving your lips upward, to kiss up his stomach, then his chest. You nuzzle your face in his chest hair while pressing intermittent kisses to his skin. Your nose brushes against the thick silver chain that rests below his collarbone. His hand is still gently holding your face as you place kisses up his neck. His smile is plastered on his lips as you kiss the moles on his cheek.
"Steve..." you breathe, into his skin. "I missed you, too."
He whimpers before pulling you into a kiss.
"Mmm, I knew it," he smiles, making you giggle. "Was that so hard to admit?"
"Kind of, yeah," you confess, pulling away. "I didn't want to get my hopes up only to have them crushed again."
"That's not gonna happen this time," he assures, as he caresses your cheek with his thumb. "I want to be with you."
"Like, exclusively?"
"Yes," he laughs. "I only want you, being away from you made me realize how important you are to me, and that...I love you."
Your eyes widen at his admission.
"You what?" You ask, before you can stop yourself.
"I love you," he says again, pulling you tightly to him, so your chests are pressed together. "Even if you don't feel the same, I had to tell you."
You feel an aching in your chest that you hadn't felt in months, that you felt the last time you were together. Tears sting your eyes as you try to pull out of his embrace.
"You're not going anywhere," he whispers, "I'm not letting you leave me again."
"I'm not the one who left," you finally say.
"It felt like it," he counters. "I asked you to come to New York with me, and you said no-"
"Because it was all too much, being with you was too overwhelming, I needed a break," you defend. "I needed a break from how I felt when I was with you, because...I was falling in love with you, and it terrified me."
His eyes light up at your confession.
"Really?"
You nod, averting your eyes. He cradles your face with both hands, getting you to look at him.
"So, you love me too?" He asks, gazing into your eyes.
"Yes," you breathe, before he pulls you into a passionate kiss.
You finally allow your body to melt into his, as you fully lose yourself in his kiss.
"You don't need to be afraid of loving me," he then breathes, into the kiss.
You pull him even closer, kissing him harder, which illicits another whimper from him. His hands grip your hips as he thrusts up against you.
"I've been waiting all my life for you, honey," he pants, before kissing his way to your neck.
"Steve..." you whine, unable to think of anything else, but him.
"Take these off," he then growls, as he drags his finger under the waistband of your panties.
You scramble to the side of the bed and peel them from your body. He raises his hips and quickly takes his underwear off, throwing them to the floor.
"Get back over here," he says, his voice dripping with lust.
You climb back onto his lap and slowly sink down onto him.
"That's it, honey, fuck..." he praises, his eyes already rolling back from how tight you were.
You moan his name when you feel him fully seated within you. You press your forehead to his as you acclimate to him.
"Feel good?" He asks, as your eyes meet.
You nod. "God, yes..."
Your hands then cradle his face, before kissing him deeply. His moans reverberate into your mouth as you begin moving your hips. His hands have a firm hold on your hips as he tries to guide your movements.
"Yeah, bounce on it, honey..." he pants, as he watches you.
Obnoxious moans leave your lips as you ride him. You missed this, how good he felt, how he was the only guy to ever fuck you this deep. Your thighs burn as you can't get enough of him.
He then leans forward and presses wet kisses to your breast. His tongue swirls around your nipple, before sucking it between his lips. Your back arches, pushing your chest into his face even more.
"I fuckin' missed your body so much, angel," he breathes, with his face buried between your breasts.
You shiver from the significance of his pet name. He only ever called you that during sex, and it always made your head spin.
You moan his name again when he sucks multiple lovebites across the tops of your breasts. Your hips then slow as you lean forward, resting your head on his shoulder.
"Need me to take over, angel?" He asks, against your ear.
"Please..." you breathe.
He smiles, tightening his hold on your hips as he begins harshly thrusting up into you. The sounds of skin against skin echoes in your ears, as you sink your teeth into his shoulder. He moans as he fucks you harder.
"Such a perfect pussy...I'd keep you in bed all the time, if you'd let me..." he says, as your lips find his neck.
You whine his name, unsure of how much longer you can take him fucking you at such a brutal pace.
"Look at me, honey," he then breathily commands.
You raise your head and meet his hooded gaze.
"I love you, so fucking much...I'm never gonna leave you again..." he continues, before pulling you into a sloppy kiss.
"I love you, too," you reply, before screaming his name as he finally sends you over the edge.
He keeps thrusting until he finds his own release, moaning your name as he fills you with every last drop of him.
His body stays still, with his arms wrapped around you, pressing your sweaty bodies together. He murmurs more 'I love you's' into your hair, as you're still struggling to catch your breath. After just holding each other for what feels like hours, he suggests that you both have a shower. You breathlessly agree and that leads to more sex, as he presses you against the shower wall and makes you scream for him again.
You each then settle into bed, with his arms wrapped tightly around you, once again. He kisses you so softly, making you feel like the most precious thing in the world, to him. Which is exactly what you are, and he plans to spend the rest of his life making you feel that way.

I see a lot of girl!dad and boy!dad schlatt HCs out and I absolutely love them to bits and pieces!
But what about queer-kid!dad schlatt HCs? Like I see some brief of mentions of the kids being gay and schlatt being supportive of that but not really much else.
Like what if his son is into girly things like barbie, makeup, dresses, and is a little bit more sensitive than your average manly man. He’d ofc be sad that his son isn’t interested in baseball or most/any of his machine stuff, but ultimately he just wants his son to be happy and if that means being somewhat of a girl!dad to his son then so be it!
And he’d do the same thing with his tomboy daughter, but he’d be pretty excited if his daughter’s into baseball and/or his machine stuff.
And if his comes out as queer, I feel he will be incredibly supportive… like to that point of it being embarrassing.
His kid brings home his same-sex or gender nonconforming partner? Be sure that he WILL bring out the gun and do vague threats towards the ‘lucky’ kid. Especially if they’re a guy or a masc leaning kid.
Heartbreak? He will be there for every one, wiping away every tear that pours down his baby’s face. Even if his son’s traditionally masc, he’d still do it because he’s doesn’t want his son to bottle up his feelings like he did when he was younger.
If his kids is somewhere in the aroace kingdom? He’d be supportive of that too, I’d feel that if his kid’s on the more extreme end of the aroace spectrum… he’d be more relieved then anything because that’s one less thing that he’d have to worry about.
Kid’s now somewhere under the trans umbrella? You bet you’re bottom butts that he’s gonna get ANYTHING that his precious angel needs! Wardrobe changes? They’re stocking up on all of the kid’s preferred clothing like it’s the fucking apocalypse! Pronouns changes? Will contently correct oneself until he gets it right! Puberty blockers? Gotcha covered! Hrts? Already on it’s way! Top surgeries? Bottom surgeries? Any other gender-affirming surgeries? It’s scheduled as soon as they turned the legal to do so and as soon as the kid shows interest in surgeries! Not interested in any surgeries or hormones? Still will love his baby no matter what they do.
And if there’s bigotry or bigots out there? He will fight everyone of bigots tooth and nail if it means his kid will be happy (even if it means getting the gun out).
And god forbid his kid, HIS FLESH AND BLOOD!!! Is ever HATE-CRIMED!!! He will rain the fury of a thousand suns upon those idiots who decide to hate-crime HIS BABY!!! If he knew the identities of those unfortunate people… let’s just say he wouldn’t be so civil with those ‘people’…. and they’d probably end up dead in a ditch somewhere.
ya…
Anyways! I said my piece here, so feel free to add anything but I think I’ve went over the most important things. -🍓🫐anon
hey there! wow, this is amazing. so nuanced and i so agree! he'd love his kid no matter what. i loved reading this it was super sweet and captures schlatt's essence so very well. well done nonie <3
i'm not queer (i'm a cishet ally) so i'm not really sure if it's my place to continue on this or speak on queer kids' experiences, but i def want to boost queer voices regarding this topic (or anything related to it too ofc). if any LGBTQ+ writers want to continue this, hit my line! tag me in anything or send me an ask and i can read & boost it <3
but i do wanna add a bit to the girly things son and tomboyish daughter part bc that was my brother and i's experience: we kinda had a mix of everything lmao, i was a bit of a tomboy and he was more sensitive and not rly a "manly man" (gender roles who)
his daughter being super into old video games from his childhood and loving the consoles. schlatt being OVERJOYED and playing with her. she gets better at the game than he does lmfao (i'm just imagining mario kart wii idk why)
if she's more crafty with fixing up cars/machines/etc he'd love to help her out. buys her parts she needs and when she's done he's showing it off to everyone
and like i said before, schlatt 100% would go to all of his daughter's games if she was on a sports team ofc
and if his son wanted to get dolls or other girly toys he'd get it for him in an instant and even play with him!!! (my brother would always play dolls w/ me hehe)
also you teaching him how to do makeup (if u know how ofc) if he wants to learn <33
you and your son doing makeup on schlatt and him looking AMAZING. he's SO proud that his son made him look so good :D
lowkey though gender roles don't exist in this household, as long as the kid is happy then schlatt's happy <3

Modern au trans Ace has been consuming my mind lately so I thought I'll just share all of my headcanons or else I'll explode:
• Sabo was the first person he had come out to. It happened when they were around 9. Ace had always felt that something was "wrong" about him. That the way he acted, his interests and past times, and just how he would do things were "unnatural" or wierd". Once Ace became familiar with the conspet of transgenderism he just opened up to him, and was met with instant support.
• Immediately after this, Sabo gave Ace his (trademark) transgender haircut in the bathroom of Dadan's house. She actually entered it while they were there and upon seeing it she cried out of happyness. (Mothers know everything)
• Coming out to Garp was a bit harder for Ace since he wasn't sure how an older person would have reacted, I mean Garp just left there his grand"daughter" and came back to a grandson after all. But we all know that Garp would never discriminate, and plus now he has another grandson to train.
• Luffy arrived in his life after a full year after he had transitioned, so at first Ace wasn't sure how to exacly explain this to Luffy, but he did manage to open up to him after they officially became brothers. Luffy wasn't just an innocent kid, while he didn't fully understood concepts like transphobia, to him Ace is just his brother so if anyone is mean to him or calls him names he'll just kick their asses.
• Ace had been homeschooled for the 5 years that would have been him attending elementary school. Middle school was the first time he attended an actual school and at first he wasn't open or confident at all and was ready to just beat up anyone who tried to shit talk him.
• Surprisingly he made a few friends. They were mostly just Luffy's friends who were older than him or his friends's siblings, but he appreciated it anyway. His absolute best friend ever tho is Kuina. I hd her as non binary using she/they so its just trans supporting trans, and they also have like a million of other reasons to be friends but those were already pointed out.
• His top surgery was payed by none other than his father Newgate. The Whitebeards pirates would be just this one tatoo shop Ace works at that Newgate he opened after "retiring" from biker gangs and stuff.
• Obbligatory T4T Yamace, but we all already knew this, didn't we?
• Ace gets the best older trans guy advice from Franky. Because to me, he is just what every trans guy aspires to be, cool and hardboiled. And who wouldn't want to get advice from the dude who did his own top surgery in his father's mechanic shop at 15?
These are all from me, but feel free to add your own or elaborate on the ones you like.
Trans Ace is so real to me that I quite literally can't imagine him being cis. It's just so,,, Weird to me. And I absolutely love everything you said. I definitely think Sabo was the first one to know and the one who helped Ace the most with his transition, also telling Garp, who actually is way better (if you can say 'better' when something isn't even 'good' but yeah) at raising boys. At least he understands them better. So I think he wouldn't have a problem with it at all even if he's more on the "I don't really get it that much, kid, but as long as you're happy" type of vibe. I agree with everything,, When he was younger he really didn't interact with many people and usually preferred to be alone. Teachers considered him more of a problematic kid than anything, and always compared him to Sabo with the typical "how are you like this when your brother is just so polite and smart!?" but then Sabo always ends up fighting the teachers for saying that shit in front of the class and Sabo stops being so perfect in their eyes (also he starts rebelling himself a lot against the educational system lmao). And not to talk shit about Garp, but talking shit about Garp I'm sure Ace would get in trouble a lot and Garp wouldn't show up to the meetings with Ace's teachers. That only makes Ace feel lonelier and everyone thinks he's extremely troubled. When he's literally a sweetheart to both Sabo and Luffy,, When he meets Luffy's friends, he starts to open up to people. He still gets in a lot of trouble, honestly, but that's just him. I think his classmates find out about him being trans, of course, and not a lot of people are okay with that. He truly wants to fight them but he knows that if he keeps going like this he'll get expelled and he doesn't like the idea of leaving Sabo and Luffy alone ('doesn't like the idea' meaning he almost gets expelled and Sabo had to scold him and tell him that even though he has his own friends he doesn't know what he would do without him in school), so Luffy and Sabo are usually the one defending him a lot of the time since the teachers, even though they're chaotic, don't really hate them (because look at those cutie patooties how could you hate Luffy???? He gets along even with teachers). The Whitebeard pirates accept him with open arms and he finally feels he has a place to belong to. Newgate doesn't even offer to pay for the surgery, he just pays without telling him first because he knows Ace wouldn't have let him do it otherwise. He's so so grateful for them. And his brothers. And his friends. And everybody that has ever supported him. I think that he has lots of issues with depression and self-image and he often has a hard time when he acts impulsively, but Newgate always helps him. He grounds him. Gives him something to focus on. And Franky is soooo fun to be around. Newgate tells him to go see Franky and give him the money he owes him, and that's how they meet, basically. It's obvious he's trans because he goes shirtless all the time and scars are there and everything... And Ace just has to ask about his experience. Franky helps him gladly. And it's not only cathartic but also very comforting. He also meets Robin there!!!! Because married Frobin in this one. And I think Ace would absolutely love her because she keeps being oh so nice to him. She kind of reminds him of Makino, and it's extremely sweet. I think Ace now goes to help Franky from time to time when the Tattoo shop doesn't really need him there or, well, whenever he wants to because he also is extremely interested in bikes.
T4T Yamace my beloved.... Guys being guys. Dudes being dudes. I think they meet because Newgate tells Ace something about this man Kaido (leader of a gang) who owes him lots of money or something or did something very nasty to him yadda yadda Maybe they just have beef from when Newgate was into the gang stuff. And Ace keeps saying he should go and settle things with Kaido and beat him up for that, but Newgate is retired and he really, really doesn't give a single fuck about it. Lmao. Ace says he could take down Kaido himself. Newgate laughs. Ace is too proud. So he ends up looking for Kaido and fighting Yamato late at night in the street and,, Well. You know how it goes. They become daddy issues besties and turns out Yamato does not want to follow his dad's steps. Ace is curious about Yamato's experience because he doesn't seem to want to have surgery or anything, and they keep bonding over their pasts and family and Yamato ends up joining the friend group. And it's so cute. Newgate can see the kid is in love because every day he waits for Yamato to come pick him up to hang out. Or maybe he begs to get out earlier to go see Yamato. He keeps talking about Yamato,,, All the time. Even Sabo and Luffy are done with him. It's endearing.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA This is just so good. Modern Au my absolute beloved.

There's a lich in the umbrella. Barry's pretty sure of that.
He feels bad for them, whoever they are. But also, it's really not his problem. Having another lich running free would be neutral at best, and at worst would be another thorn in his side. Besides, they're clearly safe in there: Kravitz is apparently unaware of them, or may just be ignoring them in order to better flirt with the elf.
Maybe Barry could cozy up to those three, too, and then Kravitz wouldn't bother him anymore. But that's not really his style, is it? He's not good at making friends, forming connections. People with friends don't turn themselves into liches.
Well, anyway. Kravitz is out of his way for now, and he's going to make the most of it. When the trio breaks out of Refuge's frozen bubble, he's ready. And sure enough, like they always do when they go on one of these little excursions together, they've come out carrying a powerful artifact.
Magnus gasps when Barry reveals himself, then stands in a defensive position. "Guys!" He hisses. "It's one of the Red Robes!"
"Yeah, it's, uh, definitely a robe that is red," Barry says. "Never joined a team about it, though. I did think we were on a team, sort of, back when I helped you with the blood and the map and everything, but I guess that wasn't enough to be worth your heroism."
"...Barry Bluejeans?" Taako realizes, incredulous. Oh, so they do remember that, at least. He always thought his name was pretty distinct.
"Um, we did save your life!" Merle adds, annoyed.
"And then left me to burn!" Sparks crackle across Barry's form, making all three of them step back warily. "Not that you give a shit-- Me and that halfling and hundreds of others who didn't happen to have their souls dragged back from the brink--"
Magnus says, "We-- we didn't want--"
"Enough!" They're all flung back, exposing the cup. That has to be it; he can feel it, and they're all scrambling to get back to it like they know--
He scoops up the artifact, and time freezes around him. That's good-- he gathered from the boys' discussion before they entered the bubble, from snippets between the static, that it might be related to time.
I can help you erase your worst mistakes, comes the voice snaking into his head.
"Oh, good," he says. "I mean, I don't need-- that. Probably. But if you can do that, then it means you can see my past in the first place. That right?"
The scene around him changes-- flashes of his childhood, of his mother. Then forward, to studying in school, to college. Static slowly overtakes more and more of the memory until they're submerged in it, a complete wash of nothing.
"What is this?" he asks, even though he's pretty sure he already knows.
There are large pieces missing from your history. If you can't remember something, can't regret it, then I can't alter it.
"That's some shitty divination."
Yeah, well, time travel is more of a conjuration-transmutation thing.
"Okay, well, can-- Can you show me anything useful? Can you show me when I became a lich?"
Again, it shows him only what he remembers: through the haze of static, he sits and reads and reads and reads. He talks to other masses of static that are just as likely to be coworkers as they are walls. No hint of where he was. No hint of why.
He really thought this was going to be the answer.
"Fuck!" What kind of idiot rips their soul out and does it so badly their memory gets fucked up? What kind of idiot rips their soul out? He's not a leader, and he's not smart enough to know anything aside from how much he really shouldn't be a leader, so what the hell did Barry Bluejeans ever think he was gonna do with power?
We could undo it, says the cup. Maybe. To be completely honest, I don't know how well I could anchor a timeline in a memory like this, but we could at least try--
"What, and then I get blasted to hell in Phandalin? Look, I'm not a fan of being in this state, but I wasn't exactly ready to die."
It flicks forward through more of his memories. He turns the cup over in his hands, tapping its sides, examining the enchantment.
Well, what about Phandalin? You could avoid dying!
"Right. Uh, it's a pain, but not a big enough pain to, y'know, put a whole diverged timeline on my conscience."
You could save everyone else!
That makes him pause.
"No, I don't think I could," he says finally. "I mean-- I was there. I did try. I'm literally one guy, and that dwarf blew up a town."
It keeps flicking through his memories. "Having trouble?"
The thing is, aside from the death Phandalin sprung on him, Barry Bluejeans has not led a very exciting life. He's done very few things of note, at least that he can remember. His parents both passed away in ways that he'd never have been able to prevent, and nobody else has ever been all that close to him. It's kind of hard to have huge, life-changing regrets when you haven't ever done shit.
The artifact in his hands is starting to shake, he realizes. And glow. That seems bad.
I've had my every offer rejected. How are all of you so stubborn?
The bindings of the artificing are coming loose. Whatever held this thing together, it clearly doesn't react well with getting rejected.
And they're going to take me and destroy me, put me on a shelf, it doesn't matter. I'll never be what I was again. But if nobody uses me, then I can't be what I am now, either! Its voice sounds different in his head, now: less of a "voice echoing from speaking into a cup" and more like a "myriad of voices speaking in chorus."
Barry considers tossing this thing before it explodes in his hands. He's not totally sure if it'll work, though, and he's not really into the idea of leaving it to explode on all these frozen people.
"Well-- hey-- If you can be something else-- Can you be something that actually can do good divination? 'Cause I'd for sure use that."
It's hot in his hands. You would? Yes-- Yes! You can reshape me. You can use me. I can be so much more than just this!
"Great! Great, I'm just gonna get us the hell outta here before you forget how to freeze time, 'cause, uh, I don't want to get into an actual fight with a wizard." And he prepares to teleport them away, back to his warded lair.
So maybe Barry Bluejeans does have some use for power.

The Lady and the Lord
Chapter 7
Eddie munsom x fem!reader
This is a repost since the old blog doesn't work anymore. 🥰
Chapter summary: pur young adults are stuck in the Upside Down and they do need to get back. But this experience might not be all bad.
Chapter warnings: spoiler season 4, blood, injuries.
Tumblr media
If someone told me this morning I'd find myself fighting demonic creatures in the UpsideDown... again... I would've scoffed... loudly.
But yet... that's exactly what I'm doing now: fighting demonic bats in the Upside Down with... oars.
We got rid of some bats that were biting on Steve's sides, but they keep coming and coming.
"Nancy!" I scream as she's attacked by a bat on her back "Stay still"
I strike with all the force I got, the bat whimpers and flies away.
Eddie and Robin got here too, luckily I might add because there are way too many bats for only three people, one of them being held down too.
As they fight off some of those creature I turn to check on Steve who managed to free himself from the bat's hold around his neck and grabs its tail.
"Come here"
"Shit shit shit"
We're all busy using everything possible to hit and kill these things. As I'm about to hit another bat away, another one attached itself to my left arm, biting down.
"Fuck!" I instinctively yell, shaking my arm to get rid of it, but no use.
"I got it, I got it" Eddie runs towards me hitting the bat to the ground and I immediately impale the thing.
"Thanks" I breathlessly say and he nods.
We turn around hearing Steve grunting, seeing him smashing the same bat, that held him down, on the ground and at the end ripping the creature in two.
Quite the hot scene.. if you ask me.. but anyway, the most important thing is that he's.. alive, not sure if he's okay, but he's alive.
I run to him, along with Nancy.
"Steve.."
"Jesus H. Christ!" I hear Eddie yell out of frustration.
"Oh shit... how you feel?" I say looking at Steve's wounds.
"Well, they took about a pound of flesh" he tells us "but other than that, yeah, never better"
"Uh, do you guys think these bats have, like, rabies?" Robin asks suddenly, as she looks at one of the dead bat on the ground.
"What?" Steve asks, very confused.
"It's just that rabies are, like, my number one greatest fear. And I think we should probably get you to a doctor, like, really soon, because once symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already, like, dead." She rambles.
"Robin, I'm sure-" I start, wanting to reassure her, but I get cut off by the sound of creature chittering.
We look towards the noise and see those bats again, flying towards us, but not quite... they gather around the gate.
"All right. There's not that many" Steve tries "we can take 'em. Right?"
More chittering... and more bats coming.
"You were saying?" Robin says.
"Shit"
"The woods. Come on" Nancy starts to run towards the woods and we all follow her carefully not stepping on the vines.
We ran until we arrive to the Upside Down version of Skull Rock and hide under the stone waiting for the bats to fly beyond that place. All ears to see when the right time to come out arrives.
"Oh.. okay. That was close" Robin comments as we get up.
"Yeah, too close" Eddie replies in a small voice.
"Oh sh.. shit" Steve whispers as he lean on the rock for support.
"Steve.. jesus" Nancy's immediately by his side.
"I'm fine. I'm fine" he replies.
"You're clearly not, Stevie. You're losing too much blood" I tell him getting closer too.
"Yeah exactly" Nancy agrees as together we look closely at those bites.
"C'mon, c'mon sit" she tells him.
Steve with a painful grunt sits.
"Oh" Robin comes closer too.
"That's... a big bite" I comment "does anyone have something to use as.. a bandage or something?" I ask.
Nancy immediately rips her shirt.
"Okay" Robin kneels down with us "so the good news is I'm pretry sure wooziness is not a symptom of rabies. But if you start having hallucinations or muscles spasms, or you start feeling aggressive, like you wanna punch me, let me know."
"Robin" Steve stops her.
"Yeah?"
"I kinda wanna punch you" he says, making me giggle with some relief.
"Sense of humor's still intact. That's a good sign" she laughs nervously and turn to look at me, I nod to help her calm down.
Nancy is ready with the "bandage".
"Here" I help Steve standing straight off the rock, just enough to let Nancy cover his wounds.
While Nancy finishes knotting the ripped shirt on Steve I get up and walk close to Robin as Eddie climb up a big stone to get a better look at the surrounding, I think.
"So, uh, this place is like Hawkins, but with monsters and nasty shit?" He asks turning to us.
"Basically, yeah" I answer.
He just nods and goes to climb back down, but Nancy warns him.
"Watch out for the vines. It's all a hive mind."
"It's all a what?" Eddie says confused.
"All the creepy crawling around here, dude. They're, like, one or something" Steve tell him "step on a vine, you're stepping on a bat, you're stepping on Vecna"
"But everything from our world is still here, right? Except people, obviously?" Robin asks.
"As far as I understand it, yeah" Nancy replies.
"So, theoretically, we could go to the police station and steal guns and grenades and whatever we need to blow up those bat things that are guarding the gate" Robin suggests, in her ramble.
"I highly doubt the Hawkins PD has grenades, Robin. But guns, yeah, sure" Steve tell her.
"We don't have to go all the way downtown for guns" Nancy starts "I have guns in my bedroom."
"You, Nancy Wheeler, have guns, plural, in your bedroom?" Eddie asks, completely surprised.
"Full of surprises, isn't she?" Robin chimes in.
"A Russian Makarov and a Revolver" she specifies.
"Yeah, you almost shot me with that one" Steve remembers.
"You almost deserved that" Nancy replies with a smirk.
Nancy and Steve shares a long stare, luckily, interrupted by Eddie throwing his denim vest.
"For your modesty, dude" he tells him.
"Wait... Nancy" I say, turning to look at her "does that mean you still have my shotgun?"
"I think.. the one Hopper gave you at Starcourt?" She asks and I nod "yeah.. I think I still got it"
"And you have a shotgun.. I shouldn't be surprised anymore.. but shit" Eddie comments.
Before I could answer him another earthquake interrupts us, and makes us fall to the ground.
Nancy against Steve, who holds her as best as he can, me against Eddie next to Robin.
I instinctively grab his hand, more to hold onto something than anything else at this moment, and I feel his other hand holding me close.
Once the earthquake stops Eddie speaks up.
"So guns seem like a pretty good idea to me"
"Definitely" I agree and I get up, helping Robin too.
"So, what are we waiting for?" Steve says, walking in the direction of Nancy's house, torch in hand. "Let's go"
"Yes, mommy" I mutter.
"I heard you" he says back.
I flip him off and, with the others, I follow him.
I walk along side Eddie noticing his nervous demeanour.
"Hey" I softly calls.
"H-hi" he replies.
"All good here?" I ask.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" he quickly says.
"You know" I start, wanting to make him feel a little bit better "the first time we faced these kind of things, uh, I was scared shitless.. I didn't know what those things were, I didn't know where they were coming from, I didn't know why they were here."
"Must've been terrifying" he comments.
"Yeah, a lot, but now, if I think about our first experience... well, that looks like an easy D&D campaign. The easiest you could think of" I say with a small chuckle, noticing his small smile I continue "You're dealing with the worst of them all and you're behaving so so much better than me back then"
"Now you're just saying that" he says, sending me a sceptical look.
"You don't believe me, my lord?" I ask faking offence, putting my hand on my heart.
"I think, m'lady, that you're being simply too kind" he replies.
"I'm just being honest" I tell him "if it wasn't for those kids I would be dead by now. Not because of those creature, but because of fear" I let out a small laugh.
"You're saying we shouldn't worry then?" He asks.
"I'm afraid we should be worried... this thing is.. far worse than anything we've faced before. I'm not one to sugar-coat something. But.. the thing is that each time seems worse than the previous one, yet we managed to survive each time, so... I'm hopeful" I turn to smile at him.
"Shit.. we do need you at Hellfire. Smart, pretty, great sense of humor and... very cool rings too... perfect" he smiles, and I could simply melt in this exact moment. I look away quickly, trying to hiding my embarrassment.
"Not as cool as yours" I say looking everywhere but him.
"Oh these?" He ask, waving his hands in my face playfully and I laugh, trying not to stare at his hands too much... his hands are just.. too distracting.
We stay silent for a while before I remember something.
"Oh, uh.. I made you something" I tell him, checking my pockets, hoping I didn't lose it somewhere.
"You.. you made me something?" He seems surprised.
"Yeah" I still checking until I find it. "Here... helps with the fidgeting"
I hand him a small black beads ring.
"Wow" he simply says.
"Hope it doesn't ruin your metalhead look" I joke.
"You kidding? This would only make it better" he says. "Thank you. That's very sweet of you, m'lady"
He winks.
"Shut up" I smile again, feeling my cheeks warming more and more as he just looks at me with that sweet smile.
"Why do you know how to use a shotgun?" He suddenly asks.
"Hopper taught me" I answer with a sad smile.
"Oh... cool of him." He comments.
"Yeah. He had so much patience" I chuckle at the memory, looking down with a sad smile.
"Hey.. I'm sorry" Eddie sweetly whispers.
"Don't be. You didn't do anything." I smile at him.
I see him reaching out to my hand but Steve's voice stops him.
"Hey" Steve slows down to catch up with us, and I see Eddie rolling his eyes.
"How's your arm, honey?" Steve asks me.
"What? Oh" I look down to my left arm "Oh, uh.. not that bad, I think"
"I think it needs a bandage or something" Steve says, ready to run up to Nancy and Robin and ask them.
"I got it" Eddie chimes in, he seems almost annoyed though.
Eddie grabs his bandana from his back pocket and goes to wrap my arm in it.
"I'm gonna ruin it" I protest moving away.
"As if I care more about a bandana than you" he instantly says. Surprising not only me and Steve, but also himself I think, considering he widened his eyes slightly.
"Stop complaining, honey" Steve says.
Eddie glare at him just for a second before wrapping the bandana around my injured arm and I hiss at the pain.
"Sorry" he softly says.
"Nah, it's fine" I groan.
He finishes rather quickly. "Here, m'lady"
"Thank you" I say rubbing my arm, just slightly.
"Hey hey don't rub it" Steve stops my movement.
I scoff. "I'm gonna see if Robin and Nancy too will treat me like a child"
I walk faster towards Nancy and Robin.
"Hey, oh! Oh shit, uh, your arm! Are you okay? Do you feel any-"
"I'm fine, Robin. Don't worry. I actually didn't even notice until Steve pointed it out" I chuckle.
"Good.. Good.. but, uh, tell me if you don't feel good okay?" She asks and I nod.
"Promise?" Nancy asks.
"Promise" I say.
I walk a little slower to stay a bit with my thoughts.
I can hear Steve and Eddie talking, but I don't pay too much attention to them at the moment. Focusing instead on the shotgun and when Hopper taught me how to use it.
"Why do I have to learn how to use this?" I asked Hopper, annoyed, as he hand me a shotgun.
"Because, since you refuse to accept any sort of help from me, I'm gonna at least teach how to defend yourself" he answered, exasperated.
"I just refused to live with you" I clarified.
"Exactly" he said "you live alone, it's dangerous. Now again."
I aimed at the empty bottles in front of me.
I shot.
Missed.
"Fuck" I muttered.
"Language." He warned "you're getting closer though. Practice makes perfect. That's how I became... me" he adds proudly.
" Oh. So you're saying you're perfect now?" I challenged with a scoff.
"How come you're so quiet with everyone, but with me you're this noisy?" He spat.
"I..." I stuttered. It was true, he was one of the few people I was comfortable enough to be... a bit louder.
I looked down, ashamed, and heard him sighing.
"Come here" he said patting a spot beside him on the fence.
"I'm sorry" I quietly said with a sigh.
"Nah.. don't apologise. Actually.. it's good you're noisy with me" he assured me.
"Why?" I asked, not understanding what he meant.
"Because it means you trust me enough to speak your mind" he explained. "I see you with those kids, that Wheeler girl, and Joyce's son and that... one with the cool hair"
"Steve" I reminded him.
"Yeah yeah that guy. I see the difference between you talking with them and you talking with anyone else."
"Really?" I asked, once again.
"Yeah! You see, when you talk to your friends you're visibly calm, open and you actually talk, joke and get angry too. But when it's someone you don't know talking to you, you wrap your arms around you, shielding yourself, you talk very little or not at all, you play with your rings to have some sort of excuse not to look at the people you're with." He explained.
I never thought he actually cared this much about me.
"And you noticed all that?" I asked, more to not show that I was happy about it.
"Of course." He nodded "That's why, even though you're getting on my nerves with your comebacks.. I'm also very proud."
I laughed and he did too.
I miss him. Fuck... I really do.
When I hear Nancy's name I snap out of my mind.
"... what happened between you two" I hear Eddie saying. "But if I were you, I would get her back. 'Cause that was as unambiguous a sign of true love as these cynical eyes have ever seen."
Obviously, Steve still has a thing for Nancy.
I hope they sort this out... I don't want him to suffer again.
"What about you, uh?" Steve asks back.
"What about me, Harrington?" Eddie teases.
"Oh I think you know" Steve laughs.
"What? Want me to admit my feelings for Y/n? Saying that she's the only thing I've been thinking about since they paired us up for that stupid project? Or that she's so beautiful that all I want to do is just look at her.. maybe that's why I've been failing O'Donnels' class this whole time."He lets out a small laugh "everytime Henderson or Wheeler mentions her, for whatever reason, I can't help but feel jealous they get to spend so much time with her while I was too much of a coward to talk to her...Fuck.. I'm screwed, man" Eddie rambles, I'm speechless, I never thought he feel this way about... me.
I need all my strength not to turn around and ask him to tell me more.
"Why would you be screwed?" Steve's confused.
"Because... she deserves so much more. I can't do that to her" Eddie replies defeated.
"Let her decide that, uh?" Steve pats him on the shoulder.
Good answer, Steve.
I hear silence for a moment before Eddie's answer.. or more, question.
"There's nothing between you and Y/n, right?" He sounds insecure, almost.
"Man, you just made a whole speech about why I should get Nancy back, not even a few minutes ago, and now you ask if there's something between me and Y/n?" Steve asks in disbelief.
"Uh.. yeah" Eddie simply answers. "You call her 'honey' a lot"
"No, man, there's nothing. She's my best friend since..." He puffs, thinking "ever."
"And, uh, there has never been anything? Like at all?" Eddie checks.
"Well... I did have a crush on her.. for a while, but then we grew apart and... yeah it changed. Then Nancy happened..." Steve explains and I hear Eddie letting out a sigh of relief, but then Steve adds casually "We were each other's first though"
"Uh? What-"
Another earthquake interrupts him.
"Oh shit"
"Okay, second on my list of lists favourite things, earthquakes. Seriously, I'm unsteady enough as it is" Robin says.
I'm holding onto a tree and I see Nancy running and Robin calling for her.
I turn around to check on the boys and nid my head towards the direction Nancy went to and we quickly follow her.
When we spot her, thankfully, the earthquake ceases.
"C'mon" she tells us, walking towards her house.. or this alternate version of it.
"Thank god we were close" Robin breathes out.
"Yeah" I say out of breath.
The house... matches with the rest of the Upside Down, obviously.
Here the cute, clean rooms are dirty and there is this dark dust all over, and the vines are crawling over the walls and the furniture.
"Might be time to get a maid, Wheeler" Robin says, trying to enlighten the mood I think.
"C'mon. I don't want to stay here longer than we have to." Nancy walks upstairs.
"Agree. Definitely don't wanna add 'creepy dimension' to the weird places I had a panic attack in" I blurt out following her.
The others close behind us.
Once we get to her room, Nancy immediately goes to her wardrobe and takes a shoes box.
When she opens it, though, there are no guns... only a pair of shoes.
"Those aren't guns" Eddie sarcastically points out.
"These heels are pointy, but I was hoping for something on the line of a deadly projectile" Robin adds.
"I don't understand" Nancy comments, looking at me.
"You sure you left them here?" I ask.
"Yeah, maybe you left them somewhere else" Eddie tries, getting agitated.
"There's a six-year-old in the house. I know where I keep my guns" Nancy almost snaps at him "and also, I threw these away years ago"
I look down on her desk, thinking, but I notice some notes. Chemistry notes, I helped her writing them so we could practice at home... three years ago.
"Nance.." I say, handing her the notes.
"I get that grades are important to you two, but perhaps studying can wait till we get out of here?" Robin suggests.
"These are from sophomore chemistry." I explain, Nancy looks at me, catching up on what might be happening here.
"Yeah.. and this... this wallpaper, this is old wallpaper" Nancy informes moving around her room to look at the rest "and this mirror, this went to a yard sale. And you" she grabs a stuffed animal "You're not supposed to be here. No, I gave you to cousin Joanna two years ago"
Nancy then moves to grab a diary.
"What is it?" Eddie asks.
"Nancy? You're freaking me out" Robin urges her.
"This doesn't look good" I comment shaking my head waiting for Nancy to confirm my suspicions.
"I think the reason that my guns aren't here is because they don't exist yet" she answers.
"They don't... exist?" Eddie repeats, tensing up more and more each second.
"This diary should be filled of entries. It's not. The last entry is November 6, 1983. The day-"
"Will went missing" I cut her off, earning a nod from her. "The day the gate opened and everything started... we're in the past.. how?"
"I don't know" Nancy shakes her head, defeated.
Suddenly we hear Steve's voice yelling "Dustin! Dustin!" And we immediately hurry downstairs.
Steve's moving awkwardly in the dining room, looking at the ceiling calling Dustin's name.
"Maybe he really does have rabies" Robin suggests.
"Steve!" I call "What the hell are you doing?"
Steve points his torch to us, blinding us for a second.
"He's here. Henderson. That little shit, he's here. He's like...he's in the walls or something. Just listen" he explains breathlessly, pointing his finger up to make us pay attention to... whatever he heard.
As we listen closely, Steve keeps calling for Dustin, but we do manage to hear...his voice!
Oh shit.
"That brings us to the question you first raised" he seems to be saying.
"Oh shit! That's him" I exclaim.
Everyone starts to call for him, yelling his name, hoping he'll hear us.
"Guys! I don't think he can hear us." I grab their attention.
"Yeah, either he can't or he's being a total douchebag." Steve replies.
"Will found a way" I say.
"What?" Steve's turns to me.
"Will. He found a way to speak to Joyce through the lights" Nancy goes to turn some lights on, with no use, nothing turns on.
Steve points his torch to the chandelier. "Guys? You seeing this?"
It's like there is some almost tangible energy surrounding the chandelier and we all gather beneath it.
I reach out to touch it.
"Shit.." I breath.
It's a weird feeling, warm and ticklish.
As we touch the energy around it, it enlightens.
"It.. tickles" Steve comments.
"It's weird, but... pleasant" I agree.
"Yeah" Eddie turns to look at me with a breathed chuckle.
"Does anyone know Morse code?" Nancy suddenly asks.
We all shake our head no.
"Wait, does SOS count?" Eddie asks, earning a light scoff from Robin "is that.. is that good?"
"Yeah, definitely" I tell him.
Immediately Eddie starts to touch the energy in Morse code.
"Yeah, that's working"
We managed to hear Dustin telling us to go to Nancy's room, where they're bringing Nancy's sister's toy. It's supposed to help us communicate more.. effectively.
Hopefully.
We wait kneeling at Nancy's bed, the tension devouring us.
"C'mon, c'mon" Steve keeps mumbling.
I keep fidgeting with my hands and rings, my breath getting heavier and heavier, but suddenly I feel a hand holding mine. I look up seeing Eddie, sending me a reassuring look even if he was just as tense, but it helps my breathing getting even again. He doesn't let go of my hand, though, not that I complain about it.
Dustin's faintly voice snaps us out of our moment.
"You.. seeing this?"
A small mass of energy appears in front of us, just like the one around the chandelier.
When we hear Dustin's laugh we know it's working.
I look at Steve who's already looking towards me, with his "We're okay" look. The one he always gives me when he sees me nervous.
"We're not moving it, but we're gonna unplug it. Stand by" Dustin says.
The energy seems to disappear, but Dustin urges to try again.
"Try it now"
Nancy, unsure, start to "draw" something on the line of "Hi" in the air, basically.
Eddie holds my hand a bit tighter.
They all answer.
"Hi"
"Hey! Hi. That worked!" Dustin exclaims.
"Yes!"
We all let out a sigh of relief and cheer. Robin lets out some relieved giggles.
"Okay. Um.." Nancy starts to draw again.
S T U C K.
"St... stuck!"
"That's what we are" Robin mutters.
"Mhm Mhm" Eddie vigorously nods.
"You can't get back through Watergate?" He asks.
"What the hell's water gate?" Steve asks.
" 'Cause it's in the water and it's a gate" Robin simply explains.
"Oh"
"That's cute" Eddie comments.
"Yeah" I agree.
"Righ, uh... no it's..."
G U A R D E D.
"Guarded. Uh the watergate is guarded" Dustin catches on.
Oh smart boy.
"Perfect, yes yes yes" Steve exclaims.
"We think we have a theory that can help with that" Dustin tells us.
"Genius child." Robin comments, feeling more relaxed now.
"We think watergate isn't the only gate. That there's a gate at every murder site."
"Does anybody understand what he's talking about?" Nancy asks us.
"Nope."
"No"
"No idea"
So she draw a question mark.
"Seriously? How many times do I have to be right on the money before you guys just trust me?" Dustin's voice sound pretty worked up.
"Jesus christ. This kid's gotta get his ego in check" Steve comments, slightly exasperated.
"It's his tone, right?" Eddie chimes in.
"I know" Steve agrees.
"Hey, it's your kid" I tease them.
"Okay so.. how far is your trailer?" Nancy asks Eddie.
"Seven miles?" He replies.
"Nancy?" Robin speaks "uh, I know your house here is, like, weirdly, creepily frozen in time and shit, but haven't you always had bikes?"
"She's right"
"Yeah.. yeah we have" Nancy answers.
We then tell the others to go meet us at Eddie's trailer and we go find the bikes, quickly riding them to Forest Hills Trailer Park.
Hopefully, Dustin's theory is correct once again. Being permanently stuck in the Upside Down is not in my plan, definitely.
Eddie leads the way and we all follow him on our bikes. We don't take much to get there, luckily.
"That's gotta be a Guinness World Record. Most miles travled interdimensionally." Robin jokes as we get off the bikes and head to the trailer.
"And the prize is getting out of here in one piece" I reply.
"Just inhaled a bunch of that crap. It's stuck in my throat." Steve complains couching.
Entering the trailer our attention is immediately on the ceiling. The gate.
"This is where Chrissy died" Eddie explains. "Like, right where she died"
"I think there something in there" Robin warns.
Something from the other side, probably, is trying to pierce through the thin veil of the gate.
"What the hell is that?" Eddie asks as we slowly get closer to inspect it better.
Suddenly the veil is broken and we step back, watching as some mysterious slimy material fall from the crack.
Steve get closer, carefully and we follow close behind.
As soon as we can see on the other side of the gate we all let out a sigh of relief.
There they stand, upside down, Dustin, Max, Lucas and Erica.
"No way" Steve half exclaims.
Dustin laughs as soon as he sees us.
God.. never thought I'd miss that laugh.
"Hi!" He greets.
We a say hi back, shocked... shockingly relieved though.
"Holy shit, this is trippy" Robin comments.
"Yeah.. that's the word" I say with a chuckle.
"Bada-bada boom!" Dustin exclaims ecstatic.
"Okay what's the plan?" Steve asks "how do we.. get back there?"
We all look at each other, uncertain on what to do.
"We got an idea" Dustin tells us.
"We're gonna use, uh, a rope or something and, like, drag you back here" Max explains.
"Yeah, we gonna need something you can fall onto" Dustin says "can we use your mattress?" He asks Eddie.
"Uh, sure, man. Sure" he replies, still out of breath.
"Oh, and the sheets for the rope" he adds.
"Whatever you need."
"Hurry please" Robin asks.
The kids get to work, Dustin and Erica making the rope and Max and Lucas bringing in the mattress. They put it right under the gate, or.. from our perspective, over the gate.
"Those stains are, uh..." Eddie starts explaining, noticing the particularly visible stains on his mattress. "I dunno what those stains are." He finally say, visibly embarrassed.
I try to hold back an amused smile, never thought he'd be the type to get embarrassed over something like this.
The rope is ready and Dustin is about to throw it to us.
"Not quite sure how these physic's gonna work. But, uh...here goes nothing" he finally launch the rope that extends itself like normal gravity permits.
"There we go, and if my theory is correct" Dustin is holding the other end and then lets it go.
The rope stays put... unbelievable.
"That's crazy" I let out a surprised chuckle.
"All right, pull on it! See of it holds" he instructs.
Robin immediately goes to pull on it. It does hold.
"Holy shit"
"Guess I'm the guinea pig" Robin says ready to climb up.
She climbs the rope, grunting and as soon as she get to the top, through the gate, she falls.. she actually falls on the mattress.
"Oh thank god" she exhales "that was fun"
I smile, relieved.
I look at the others seeing if anyone wants to go after her.
"My turn, I guess" I say, not seeing anyone else stepping up.
I pull, experimentally, at the rope and jump holding me up.
I slowly climb up, shit.. never been the athletic type.
Once on the edge of the gate, I feel like being sucked and instantly fall on the mattress, back in our world.
"Shit!" I say as I land, with a grunt. "Fun, yes, but to never do again" I say with a laugh.
Dustin helps me get up so the others can come back too. Max immediately come to hug me and I do too.
"You're okay?" I ask her.
"Yeah, you? What happened to your arm?" Dustin asks worried.
"Nothing unusual" I joke and they smiles.
I see Eddie climbing and then falling.
"That was fun. Shit" He then grabs Dustin hand and get up, getting beside to me and nudging my shoulder playfully.
"All good here?" He whisper to me.
"Yeah" I smile at him.
Now It's supposed to be Nancy's or Steve's turn, but something's wrong.
Steve's screaming Nancy's name, she just stands still.
"Wake up! Wake up! Nancy!" He keeps screaming.
"Oh no no no" I mutter.
"Vecna" Max speaks.
Shit.

ive been thinking about this a lot lately and kinda just wanna say it somewhere.
that said, feel free to just scroll on by bc this is heavy. also super long? i just- needed to get it off my chest, kinda.
cw: sexual assault, alcohol and drug use
so, in highschool there were these two guys who were in my friend group but i wasn't rly friends with, we'll just say L and N. L had an obvious crush on me and kept trying to get me to date him even tho i had a boyfriend and he knew my boyfriend - once i ended up going on a date with him bc my autistic ass thought he was just trying to hang out, lmao. anyway, it was awkward, esp once my friends told me uhhh no that was a date? u just described a date.
N was a lot more chill but also kinda... he was nice and all, genuinely nice, but he was also one of those no no i'm not sexist i'm an equal-opportunity hater haha! guys. so i wasn't rly close with either of them
but when i went to college they were the only two ppl i already knew and i was rly overwhelmed about being all alone on campus at first, so i ended up spending quite a bit more time with both of them, in and out of school. and it was fun when it was the three of us! they were amusingly raunchy and we talked a lot about related subjects and went on walks together and idk, it was nice. this was before i realized i was trans but i think it fulfilled a Just One Of The Guys need i had at that time
got p close with both of them, esp L. ended up at his house by myself quite frequently. and, well, we drank - this being before i realized i had a unrelated liver disease. and by this point i was out as trans and my family was AWFUL about using the right pronouns and i had no in-person connections who used the right pronouns and i was... p desperate for validation. while also using both alcohol and weed quite heavily to cope
so, yknow... hang out with someone who calls me 'he', talk about gender shit, sigh and go along with the eight million dumb YT videos he wanted to show me, but whatever, i got free liquor and it was smth to do, right? i was even able to lean into being a system around him! that was super validating.
so, surprise surprise, we ended up becoming kinda fuckbuddies. and i was okay with that - p open that i wasn't interested in a relationship but like, sure, we can fuck around. so we did. usually drunk. usually quite drunk. but that was okay because there was still consent going on
but i had one very clear, very explicit boundary. and once he started to cross it - i called him out on it and he pushed back and i had to tell him to stop several times. it wasn't like... aggressive? just very, very coercive. took me a long time to accept that it was still a form of rape. hell, i still struggle to type that out, i want to add caveats to it. but it just was. and that was the big change for me, when i realized he wasn't actually going to respect my boundaries. still hung out with him for a while after that and we had sex a few more times while i was processing my feelings about everything and trying to accept that he was in the wrong and i had a right to be upset
but after that, i just started feeling rly shitty on the walk home whenever i left him. there were subspace/subdrop issues at play, too, which was another brand-new discovery for me, and no aftercare ever, but it was... yeah. it was bad.
still, took me a while to break off the relationship. i was actually at a conference for a school thing when i did it, because being around ppl who saw me as a man, who respected me, who treated me kindly... it totally changed how i saw interpersonal dynamics. like, that whole experience was a MASSIVE wake-up call for me. so that was when i cut him out of my life
now, oddly, this story isn't about L. it's about N.
afaik, N had no idea about any of this. but a while ago, idk probably over a year now, he sent me a nice text mentioning that he didn't know why we'd fallen out of touch. and i usually delete texts after a while but i still have that one. sometimes i want to reply - not telling him the details, just like 'yeah so me and L had smth weird and i didn't want to put u in a position where u had to choose' but also just- memories, yknow? i associate them together very strongly bc the three of us spent sm time together
but i still feel kinda bad. kinda miss N. i saw him become a better person while i saw L kinda become a worse person. i just feel... idk. torn? ultimately i gotta take care of me because no one else can, but i think about him quite often, and about that text i've never replied to. and i also spent time with N alone, and it was just chill. he never tried to fuck me. when i slept over he let me have his bed and made sure there were fresh sheets and everything. he watched me play videogames at his house and let me spend forever on character customization and made sure i had vegetarian food to eat. he was nice, without any strings attached. and we talked about, shit, everything. once we walked for hours and hours - p much the entire night - just talking. he rly opened up to me a lot, and i opened up to him - not about everything and not about anything with L, but about a lot of other stuff. it was an important friendship.
and i just... i regret losing that a lot. i've been thinking about both of them a lot recently. part of it is just coming head to head with things i was using weed to repress now that i've been sober for a while, granted. bc i've been thinking about a lot of things in my past recently.
relationships are messy. but i regret that a good friendship got stained by a bad one.

Jake x mc texting story
no action or adventures in this one. Which isn't my style but here we go.
( I didn't add pictures on purpose, feel free to pick your own )
_ warning, I don't check for spelling mistakes srry
_____________________________________________
It was a busy week, mc was expected to attend a wedding with a friend, it's kind of stressful when you aren't a very social person, but knowing her best friends will be there made it better.
Going out shopping with friends turned out to be more tiring than fun, with all these choices, she needed to ask which dress looked better and no one other was on mind.
------------
Mc : hey Jake!
Jake : hello mc
Mc : can you help me with something?
Jake : of course, what's the problem?
Mc : So I bought this new dress..
Mc : <Sent a photo>
Mc : What do you think?
Jake : ...
Jake : I have no words
Mc : Come on! It isn't that bad, I actually like it
Jake : To describe how beautiful you look
Mc : Oh
Jake : If anything, it's too good ;)
Mc : Aww 🤭
Jake : you look shorter than I expected though
Mc : !! My height is average!
Jake : sure
Mc : I'm not done yet!
Mc : <Sent a photo>
Mc : what do you think?
Jake : this one I believe looks a bit too cute
Jake : Adorable.
Mc : Thanks, so it doesn't look formal at all right ?
Jake : I don't know much about those, but I believe you would look too cute to be taken seriously.
Mc : Maybe I want to be taken silly ? 😆
Jake : Don't worry, I know where this dress belongs
Mc : Where ??
Jake : ;)
Mc : Jake !
Mc : Ugh anyway, next up !
Mc : <Sent a photo>
Mc : <Sent a photo>
Mc : The black dress, it looks more formal than the others.
Jake : you look so stunning
Jake : what is the occasion?
Mc : So my friend invited me as Plus one to a wedding🤭, we were planning to fun there, so we started picking dresses and all.
Mc : after I pick a dress, we will have to shop for accessories as well.
Jake : I see, a close friend?
Jake : how close?
Jake : and a plus one ?
Mc : we went to high school together
Jake : ..
Mc : so anyway, they are planning on having matching dresses
Jake : oh, that's great
Mc : 🤭
Mc : you were jealous for a second there weren't you?
Jake : I ..
Jake : have a good time.
<Jake is now offline>
Mc : lol
__________________________________________
After picking the dress, mc and her group went to shop for the rest of the items, but sadly, mc couldn't find something she likes, so she decided an online store could have something interesting.
__________________________________________
Mc : I'm not sure whether I would like gold or silver for this dress.
Jake : I'm sure whatever you pick would be fitting
Mc : <sent a screenshot>
Mc : I like those
Jake : I see, an online shop, Could you send me the link ?
Mc : sure
Mc : <sent a link>
Mc : why tho ?
Mc : Jake?
_________________________________________
Trying to purchase the item, it shows that the it was already sold, mc lost hope for now.
_________________________________________
Mc : oh dam, it was the last one in stock
Mc : bummer
Jake : you will see.
Mc : they're gonna restock?
Jake : do you have anything else on the list?
Mc : not really.
Jake : very well, I believe you should be going home soon, it is getting late.
Mc : I promised to have few drinks with my friends, see ya
Jake : ..
<Mc is now offline>
_________________________________________
The drinks were amazing, the music was loud, it set the mood for a good time, as girlies started talking about more and more interesting topics.
One of them asked mc about why she isn't dating and that there are some nice guys around here she should consider.
Mc simply replied that she has her eyes on someone
The group kept asking questions about this " someone" that mc had to think about before answering right away.. who knows what could be at stake
" how does he look like ? " One of the girls asked mc, who was looking at her phone
" handsome I would say "
" can we see him ? "
"no, I .. well I don't have a good pic of him and.. maybe next time! " Mc replied trying to end the conversation.
" what's his Instagram? "
" zodiac sign! "
" and is he rich? "
" I.. I don't know! " The topic seemed to drag on and they ordered more drinks.
And after all this talking about a certain " someone" you start to miss them.
__________________________________________
<2 missed calls from mc>
Jake : I'm so sorry I didn't pick up, is everything alright?
Mc : hey !
Mc : ever thought about going out tonight? The music is good✨✨
Mc : everyone is loud tonight 😆
Jake : Didn't I say it was getting late ?
Mc : and ? Late is when the fun starts , don't be boring for once
Jake : .. you believe that?
Mc : yeah! You should come over and have some fun ! Bestie is getting us another round
Mc : <sent a photo>
Jake : I don't think what you need is another round of whatever you are having.
Jake : I'm serious.
Jake : mc ?
__________________________________________
Sometimes you need to take matters into your own hands, that's what Jake believes, a drunk mc is a reckless mc, he needs to make sure she is alright.
He doesn't know her friends so he doesn't really think it's safe for her to stay out late with them, but what he knows best is that mc would get in trouble for her friend's sake.
Fortunately, nym-0s has her current location stored in case of emergency. It wasn't much of a drive.
Few minutes later he is standing in front of what seems to be a bar
Looking around for mc, wasn't hard as she screamed his name the second she spotted him.
Impressive.
mc who is already hugging his arm, decided to show him off
" guys this is Jake! See ! I told you"
" he really is, yeah "
" damn girl "
" Jake, those are friends say hi ! " Jake decided it's best to play along otherwise it would be rude.
" hello ladies"
The group smiled and giggled and eyes started to travel across his face and figure, even a drunk mc noticed and didn't like that.
" so Jake you wanted something? "
" yes, I would like a word in private "
Taking her to a less noisy area, he didn't get a chance to speak before she was in his arms.
" I'm so glad you came ! " She said hugging him even tighter.
" I'm here to take you home, mc "
" aww but why? "
" you are literally resting your head on me " it was true, she was even closing her eyes a little but after he said that she woke up
" doesn't mean I'm sleepy! "
A yawn proved otherwise
" okay maybe a little "
" say your goodnights and follow me, the car is waiting "
This tone is not meant to be messed with, at least drunk mc figured as much. And decided not to fight.
All mc remembered last night was the fact that she went home and was laid on the bed in which she woke up alone.
She picked her phone to find texts from her friends, they were talking about how nice Jake seemed and asked mc how they met and everything, mc put the phone down and went back to sleep.
_________________________________________
< Jake is calling.. >
________________________________________
Mc answered, he doesn't usually call.
" good morning, mc "
" good morning! "
" I wanted to check on you after last night "
" oh don't worry not much happened"
" very well "
" oh Jake can you wait a second, someone is on the door "
Mc, was wondering who could it be, maybe her friends decided to check on her too?
She opened the door to see a delivery guy wearing the same logo as that online shop, handing her a package and asking her to sign .
She did and thanked him and closed the door.
" Jake... "
" so that's why they were out of stock, you bought the last one ! "
" exactly, I hope you like them "
" I love them! Thank you, you shouldn't have"
" I'm glad, you are welcome"
" I have to put them on, goodbye for now ! "
____________________________________________
Mc : <Sent a photo>
Mc : they fit the dress well
Jake : very lovely
Jake : I was wondering if .. maybe you would need someone to drive you
Mc : no need really I can take an Uber or something
Jake : nonsense, I can take you there, just call me once you are ready.
Mc : 🤭
Mc : I guess this dress wasn't a bad choice
Jake : I was planning on asking you out after that
Mc : aww really?
Jake : yes, so what do you think?
Mc : sure, it would be fun !
Jake : I can't wait to see that dress on my floor
Jake : have fun, mc
<Jake is now offline>
Mc : !! 😳 Jake ?

Another example of Dean's love for Cas
I watched a show. So far so good. But then I saw a scene where the girl tells the guy to get out of the room despite his brother telling him multiple times before and he does it when SHE says it. What happens in the very next episode? Well, he tells her about his feelings for her.
So what my brain did is that he thought about Destiel (obviously, of course, as always) and thought about how this could apply to them.
Are there times when Dean does what Cas tells him to? The answer is yes there are.
Episode 5x02, Castiel wants Dean's necklace to find God:
CASTIEL: May I borrow it? DEAN: No. CASTIEL: Dean. Give it to me. DEAN (takes off the amulet): All right, I guess.
2. Episode 15x09, their whole trip in Purgatory (before and during):
DEAN: Chuck has Sam. I'm not leaving him. CAS: Chuck's not gonna kill him. That's not the ending. DEAN: Wh— Then he'll torture him. CAS: Dean, will you stop? Just stop being so stupid. DEAN: What? CAS: If we attack Chuck now, we don't have anything that can hurt him. We get that Leviathan blossom, complete Michael's spell, build the Cage. That's our chance. That's the way we'll save Sam, and that's the way we'll save the world.
Boom! They go to Purgatory. Then, when they're in, this happens:
DEAN: [...] Okay. Let's split up. CAS: What? DEAN: You go that way. I'll go this way. We'll meet back at the Rift, alright? We'll cover more ground. We'll better our odds. CAS: Yeah. We'll also improve our odds of getting lost or killed. Come on.
Boom! Cas sets out, and Dean follows after him.
There might be more examples, that was just those I could remember. If you have others, please feel free to add them in comments or reblogs. Anyway, it's funny to see that straight from the start of their relationship Dean already did what Cas told him to.
Did Dean have feelings for Cas since season 5? Maybe, I'm not sure what my headcanon is about this yet.

Shit.

ello! not the same person who requested wrong number - Mark, but could we possibly have a part two if you are willing to? Thank you :)
Part One
***
For weeks Mark has been playing a very dangerous game. It doesn't matter, though, not as long as you continue to think you're messaging Haechan.
In the back of his mind, he knows that this is wrong. Pretending to be someone he's not just so he can get close to you was something he never thought he'd be doing. So far, it works. Besides, he's never been able to know you like this before.
Of course, he starts off subtle. Whenever he sees you in person now, he can't let you clue in to how he knows certain things about you. He just ordered a coffee only to get a second one for free that just so happened to be your favourite drink. It shouldn't go to waste, and he was seeing you anyways. Or the time when he just so happened to casually have a spare of your favourite macaroon on him when you were craving something sweet.
See, he can provide for you. Not Haechan.
Mark can tell you're getting frustrated with Haechan though, your messages becoming more blunt and less frequent.
Good. He doesn't want the two of you getting any closer, anyways. Even the few interactions he has seen between the two of you look strained, Haechan further digging himself into a hole of Mark's creation when he 'acts' like the conversations you've had over text have never happened.
We need to talk.
Your message comes unexpectedly one Friday evening.
About?
Mark sends back, his heart racing in his chest. You didn't find out, did you? No, how could you have? It's not possible.
Meet me at the park tomorrow afternoon around one. I'll tell you then.
Immediately, Mark's anxiety rises. You must know, there's no way you don't. That is, until he reads your next message.
Don't be late, Donghyuk.
A devious grin takes over Mark's features. Perhaps this could be the final nail in the coffin to put to rest those pesky feelings you have towards Haechan. Who better than to comfort you and sweep you off of your feet than Mark?
The next day, Mark makes sure not to message you despite your follow up text that morning. If you believe you're messaging Haechan, then best have you believe he's ignoring you. After all, if he wants his plan to work, having you mad at Donghyuk would just be icing on the cake.
Casually taking a stroll past the bench you're sitting on, Mark purposely pauses mid step. With a slight furrow to his brows in surprise, he turns to look at you. "What are you doing here?"
At the exasperated sigh you let out, Mark knows you're upset. "I was waiting for Donghyuk."
"Was he supposed to meet you?" Honestly, Mark should get an award for how well he's acting.
"Yeah, supposed to." You huff, leaning back on the bench with your arms crossed.
"When were you supposed to meet him?" Mark frowns.
You check your phone, "half an hour ago."
"Here," Mark says, taking a seat beside you, "I'll keep you company while you wait."
"That's really not necessary," you shake your head.
"Nonsense," Mark smiles. "I insist."
"Well, alright then," you sigh. Then, after a brief pause. "Is he always like this?"
"Unfortunately," Mark chuckles. "One time he showed up two hours late to band practice. Unexplained, I may add. No warning, either."
"Great," you scoff. "Just great."
"I'm sure he has a good reason as to why he's keeping such a beautiful person waiting," Mark replies, and out of the corner of his eyes, he swears he sees you avert your gaze slightly.
"Maybe," you shrug, voice barely above a whisper.
"I thought you guys were a thing?" The words taste bitter on his lips.
"No. Never." Your response makes his heart soar. "Honestly, I don't know what I ever saw in him."
"Maybe he's just not who you thought he was." Never has Mark spoken words more true, his voice soft as he stares at you..
Looking into Mark's eyes, your lips twitch upwards as you meet his gentle gaze, "maybe."

Cater's Birthday Gift! (Finale- ' It's sleepy time but a lot is still left unsaid')
For part 1| part 2 | part 3|
Finally we reach the finish line after some bounding with all the dorms. As gifts are open and regret spilled, Cater stays behind to deliver his message.
" Please no, I don't want to nurse Kalim from 'juice poisoning'..."
" What are the Dorm rules?!"
I raise an eyebrow at Kalim's question.
" What he means is that each Dorm has their way of doing stuff including activities. The way me and Azul-shi plan the rules in the Board Game Club could be totally different from how Riddle-shi prefers to play them. If he plays at all that is~"
For the first time that evening, Idia speaks without a stutter, ending with a wide grin and a teasing voice.
" I do fine with card games, thank you for wondering."
" No need to get your crown in a twist just because you are a noob..."
" What did you just call me-?!"
There's a camera flash.
" Alright, how about I start? We can figure the rules along the way, it's a simple game anyways."
It was not a simple game. For every 'I have', someone, anyone would drink their fill. In last place, as predicted, was Kalim. In first place was the ever enigmatic Malleus.
The desserts had arrived and he still had to drink his third cup...
" Malleus-san sure is full of mysteries."
" Either that or he is just lonely..."
Sebek glares at Azul and Ruggie.
" That's just how powerful Waka-sama is!"
" Ok, ok then to end this... Never Have I Ever... felt lonely!"
... ..... ........
All drink in one gulp.
"Nyah? Even the tweels?"
" Lonely together counts, right?"
Floyd wonders while massaging the back of his neck.
Everyone ends the game with a smile, a sense of companionship left.
The cake finally arrives, everyone sings this weird birthday song I never heard before. Must be a Wonderland custom.
My eyes are bright, even when looking at the huge pile of gifts.
" Yep, we surely went overboard. Maaan...I should have gotten some seashells or rocks from the deep sea and made an acessory like Jack's...maybe a bracelet~"
" So kind of you Floyd, fufu~"
" I'm serious Jade! Those two small fires got the best end of the deal, Kantokusei seems to love your Underwater Potion, Azul."
" Maybe a free course at Monstro Lounge? No... VIP for a month? Too long..."
" Everyone knows how to take care of aquariums, right? Maybe instead of a terrarium, I'll start working on that next year~"
" Doesn't it feel weird imprisoning fish for entertainment?"
Deuce ponders.
" Have you ever asked a mushroom if they minded being eaten? Of course not, mushroom people aren't easy to come by."
"Oh. I see..."
" I was do busy with those darn envelopes- I mean, origami! Here's some paper cranes! Don't worry I made sure they wouldn't lose their luster. Although I might have exaggerated on the number..."
I find myself with around 50 crystallized paper cranes to decorate the Dorm.
" It's fine, I'm sure I'll find a use for them... thanks Epel!"
Vil classically hands me a set of his own line of beauty products. It's the latest one though and he was kind enough to add instructions of how to keep a daily beauty routine almost flawlessly! I could use the tips...
Rook hands me a scarf...the fur feels real. So real that both Ruggie and Jack were taken aback.
Even Grim doesn't want to get close to it.
Kalim keeps apologizing for not getting me a gift. He was indecisive and a little forgetful.
Riddle hands me a tiara. He says he made it using two sections of alchemy. Making the basic materials, and advanced alchemy where you create something with said materials. I couldn't be more grateful with his determination.
More gifts are open and the party goes on until 10 pm. That's Jack's curfew.
" Although it was a stressful disaster...thank you! Thank you guys for all the effort."
" It was our pleasure. Please repay in kind and don't forget about us."
Riddle makes that simple wish before gathering his dorm and parting ways.
" Our parties are of higher caliber but, as long as you look presentable, please do visit Pomefiore. Epel and Rook would certainly be ecstatic."
" I wouldn't mind staying to help clean but Kalim's bed time is coming to a close and Scarabia has been unsupervised for long enough. We had fun though, thanks for being a great host."
" I agree with Jamil, this was a great party! Jamil finally had some rest. On that note, you are always welcomed to join our feasts (Y/N), hahaha!"
And with that most of Heartslabyul, Pomefiore and Scarabia are gone. Jack had returned to his Dorm sooner so he could get ready for bed and Leona is waitting for Ruggie to finish cleaning his part.
" You are not bad Herbivore. Visit us if you dare~"
Savanaclaw is also gone. Octavinelle doesn't depart before advertising Mostro Lounge, mentioning they are always open for a new contract and a tight squeeze from Floyd.
" See you shrimpy~"
" Akka, agh! Those are so tight, nya!"
Grimm says in between coughs. Malleus is staying for a while until the decorations are taken off. Only now did he mention how his magic is keeping this place from degrading...or falling apart. Of course Lilia stays to help and both Sebek and Silver gakw turns switching from guard duty to cleaning duty.
Trey is cleaning the kitchen and Cater... seems to be checking his MagiCam.
Idia and Ortho are not in a hurry and help Lilia take care of the lights. Apparently the fix didn't make the century old things less unstable.
" Thanks for working so hard everyone! Specially you Tsunotaru, there was no need to tire your magic reserves for...this!"
" I wholly agree with the Human!"
" Sebek..."
" What? Lilia-sama it's midnight already-"
" Sebek, switch with Silver."
" Y-Yes Master Malleus! I apologise master!!!"
He promptly runs out and soon Silver comes in slightly confused but ready to work.
" This was nothing Child of Man. I enjoyed being part of an event for once."
Malleus chuckles and Lilia playfully ruffles my hair to my chagrin. I walk towards Cater.
" So...is that the new trend? Heart colar?"
Cater looks up with a small smile.
" You wish but not even Cay-Cay can make these a thing~ I bet you are wondering where my gift is."
He adds with a wink.
" Wait, what? No, I... you were not the only one."
" Kantokusei-chan thinks so little of me? How mean~. Sometimes I prefer to not be the center of attention."
He explains.
It's a group project but I still worked hard on the details."
" More like, you hired tech mages to do most of the work..."
" I'm good with technology, not at making it! Plus, I think my requests were logical and simple..."
" Say that to my tired fingers."
Idia retorts in a bored manner...or maybe he's getting tired.
Cater tries to defend himself but Ortho's puppy dog eyes win me over.
" Really? What was it you made them do that tired Ortho out?!"
I open the orange and blue box he handed me. It's sturdy and well packed inside. After taking the wrapper off...
" ... An actual phone...?"
" I figured, you could make your own MagiCam account and take your own photos. So I don't have to print them in events like these~ How about I share them with you instead and you decide what to do with them next?"
He looks at me, with sincerity this time, no mischief behind those usually empty green eyes hidden by a mask of nonchalance and beauty.
" Wait, (Y/N)-shi! MagiCam is not the only app we installed so...p-please check everything thoroughly and come to Ignihyde if...if you need help! Eep!"
"B-Big Bro?! Where are you going, we aren't done yet-!"
With that, Idia disappears. His social meter drained. Ortho goes after him.
" I was ready to take a nap but guess someone has to clean this place. Henchman you better help me once you are done chit chatting!"
Grim flies away from the sofa, joining Malleus in taking down the weird but memorable Birthday Banner.
" Everyone's contacts are also here...what's this? A2? OctaTrio...are these social groups?"
I laugh at the idea of Azul using a phone to share info between his enforcers, much less talk with others that much. I can see how Ace and Deuce have their own. And of course there's one for each Dorm too.
" Now you don't have any excuse for missing the latest news, kay? I'll make sure to ping you 100 times if needed..."
Cater gives a not so adorable smile.
" Thank you Cater! I love it. This explains Ortho's stickers..."
I get distracted playing with my new 'toy', not seeing or even hearing Cater loudly exhale and relax.
' I wonder if you truly know what loneliness is. Hopefully from now on, you can use this tool, a gift of mine to share all your problems. No one should fight alone.
Kudos, Cay-Cay ◇'

I'm gonna ask a weird question but:
Is there anything you guys (aka y'all following me lol) want to see more of from me, in terms of a potential item(s)/service(s) to purchase?
Better explanation of what the fuck I'm waxing on abt below the cut. TW for talk of money/work/the overall state of things economically for me and my plans/goals/potential options to keep making things better.
I need to bring in more money. I'm getting more stable, trying to save on top of the generous donations I've been given while using them as needed for things we absolutely need (food, basic supplies/necessities.) But we're still so tight, and I know nearly everyone is dealing with some form of this right now bc Everything Sucks Economically on like. a level of how it felt in 2008 (extra terrifying feeling now) but. It's killing me. I can't take feeling like a burden like this. I have to do more.
I have been applying elsewhere, for FT, PT, and contract jobs that pay better, though I am hoping more for the FT positions of course. Thus far, I have not had any bites back that amounted to anything, but intend to continue my efforts regardless (because what else can I do there anyway?)
I've been trying to figure out other options, w/things I know I can do somewhat well to very well. All would be cheap, but hopefully would add up over time until I can get a FT job again and while I grind away at the current PT job (which I am hoping to add more hours to for the next semester, when they have us make our scheduling choices again and allow us to potentially add at least one more shift to our schedule.)
So, a poll. To gauge interest, and see if y'all have any opinions/would even potentially purchase anything like the below things from me. I'll try and detail each option below, but first, the options:
1. Photo Prints: I've done photography since high school, though I only have my current Pixel phone available for it right now. That said, they would be as cheap as I can get away with, and my Pixel actually doesn't do too badly, plus I would be editing these to make them as good looking as possible. Ideally, I'd have a Pay What You Want option instead, so ppl can just give whatever they think the print is worth since these will be smaller, amateur prints, but I'm not sure if all the platforms that usually handle photo print sales for smaller creators allow that. So, in that case, a range of probably $1-$5 at most for each print. They would be of things out here; I have access to and experience already with taking city and nature themed pictures (it was literally all I did in hs and since then bc of where I've lived.) So general city life/scenery, plus local wildlife like the birds, squirrels, and nature surrounding us in all seasons, plus any extra pictures I can take elsewhere whenever Housemate and I are out and about (aka probably lots of mountain and ocean shots.) My speciality when I had my other camera was micro/detailed photography, and I'd like to explore this with my current setup and see how they turn out and potentially offer those as well.
If it would help to see some current pictures that I am considering as the first set I would put up for sale, please reply on this post letting me know and I can post a couple as examples 🙌
2. Poetry Commissions: I have done these on and off since middle school, usually for friends/family. Nothing wild, but usually shorter, some rhyming, some free verse, poems on varying topics. I've done them for birthdays, holidays like Mother's Day and Father's Day, as well as with obits or for weddings, and even a baby shower, to go on the invites. I haven't posted much of what I've written in recent years, but as with the pictures, I would be happy to post some of the ones I've written before as examples. Poetry is where I have no fear and will work myself to the bone to provide the best work possible; if you can get me just the bare basic details (ex. You want a poem for your brother's bday. Give me his name, a couple of hobbies/likes of his, and two of your favourite memories with him and I'll write you something beautiful, to celebrate him and his place in your life and take the piss out of him too, depending on your relationship with your brother lol), I can get you a poem in a 2-4 day turnaround time for as low as 5¢/word. Electronic only, but you would get a PDF of the poem that you can do whatever you want with afterwards (I would require my name remain credited on any other posting/usage elsewhere, but you wouldn't have to pay me again if you want to reuse it for another brother, to harken back to our example.)
3. Data Entry/Transcription Assistance: This one is a pretty wide range of what I can offer. I have experience working with medical documents (neurology, ophthalmology, and optometry for specific specialities both in data entry and transcription) via two of my last jobs, technical documents from two prior jobs (public library and medical staff training specifically), and historical documents including both handwritten (including print and cursive) and typed documents and charts via my volunteer work with Zooniverse. This is my bread and butter in terms of general job skills, and one I genuinely enjoy. That means that I come into each job, regardless of field or exact task, with excitement and an open mind, ready to prioritise and organise everything to the requested system and/or standard, with the goal to go above and beyond that however possible. Usually I achieve this by completing projects as ahead of deadline as possible, as well as by taking on any additional related tasks as needed (example: you hired me on to type up all of Grandma's lifelong journal entries for archiving and easy reading at an upcoming family reunion, but now you've found that Grandpa has one too. For minimal to no additional cost, I will happily take that on and endeavour to have both sets of data typed up in an easy to send/print word doc and/or PDF well before the reunion deadline.) I am more than willing to take on contract/NDA required work for this option as well, and have done so in the past with a prior job (aka why I'm not allowed to share any of the clinic training docs I made.) Cost might depend some on project size and deadline, but a general estimate would be, to stick with our above example: $5 per 250/pg journal, with a small additional charge of $5 if a rush is requested (aka say the reunion gets moved up to three days from now vs three months or weeks.) I would endeavour to charge no higher than $25 with $5 rush fee if rush requested for bigger projects.
4. Research Assistance: More or less what it says on the tin. Can be for work, home related things, whatever (though if requested for school/in regards to homework, I only go as far as providing resource links because unfortunately, usually doing the research yourself is a part of the learning process. However, if you're struggling to find primary or secondary sources, I am happy to help find those for you so that you can peruse them to see if they'll have the information you're looking for. If they do, great! If they don't, then I would keep looking for more.) While research hasn't been my main task at any of my prior jobs, it has always been a feature in much of the day to day work regardless, and is a skill I have kept up in my volunteer work with Zooniverse on projects which requested it. Looking for sources for anything, from work projects to recipes can be a slog. Let me do it for you. Pricing on this I'm putting at $5. That's it. Pay me $5, and I'll find as much as I can in regards to whatever you have that needs researching. Turnaround might depend on project, but I'm leaning 1-4 days at the very most.
So. There we are! Vote on the poll if you'd like, reply with any opinions/feelings/ideas you have for me about these, and thank you if you read this whole thing ❤️🫂

Envious Encryption
A day or two ago, while I was on my way somewhere I bumped into with one of friends who was with his girlfriend, it was the first time I've seen her and despite that it already felt like I knew everything about her. I'm happy for the guy, they look perfect together and its obvious that he's very happy.
Seeing them together, seeing her specifically triggered something in me, I didn't realize until the next day when I saw him again when he said hi to me. He wasn't with his girlfriend but when I triedto remember what she looked like I couldn't help but think of another person I really cared about, someone who used to make me as happy. I've been feeling particularly lonely and lataely it feels everyone around me has someone except for me.
However, I thought I was okay with that, but it turns based from the jealousy I'm feeling that I still want something of my own. Envy, who would have thunk?
Envy, is a lot like encryption in the sense that it hides a lot of complex emotions, disguising itself as ambition, admiration or happiness but instead its something that slowly eating away from your vary soul. We encrypt our true feelings only for them to get decrypted by some random girl who looked like a person you knew.
Well yeah... thats it actually, I am just going to try and study or something, because I've been really letting these emotions devour my core being.
I'm really trying... at least I'm not giving into my addiction, instead I'm adeep in this game
Tumblr media
Itchio has a lot of free random games, so that keeps me occupied for a while, well I think thats all from me. Thanks for reading, btw my project is about to end which is why you pro bably started reading but yeah.
The website, I wanted to add the Orcust system but the project doesn't seem to need any more features just bug fixes and preparing our presentation.
I did make a prototype of the Orcust system, it simply takes uploaded code and dockerizes it, it took longer than expected like 6ish hours to make a python script that properly does that. The docker library wasn't reliable at running newly created containers or images, so I made use of the commands.
I'll probably make the Orcust system a separate open source project. For quick and easy deployment of files. The way it works is that the uploaded script is suppsoed to have an endpoint open that the manager will expose and map to the host computer/server. The one issue I faced with this is that the containers would weigh about 150mb per container, so a 1000 containers would be 150gb of storage and then processing power for each container. Hosting this would be very expensive, maybe there are inexpensive options or secret ways of optimizing containers or images or perhaps docker optimizes loads of running containers. Not too sure but that was the issue. But the issue should have been an obvious flaw of using containers, I can't help but feel stupid haha maybe I should just ditch it. It won't be in the final project nor do I think anyone would be able to run this expensive library.
Tumblr media
Well I suppose thats life, you live and you learn. Let me post the project now to github and I'll see it later.
Well yeah thats pretty much all of the update. Actually let me talk more about personal life, I've been talking with my friends more so thats something. I have a fear of being replaced, so seeing them hang out with others does break my heart a tad however thats okay because I can't always be there so it makes sense to hang with those you hand with and there's nothing really special about me anyway.
I've been listening to a lot of traumacore type music, like Mitsiki and junk before I sleep, its almost as if I want to hurt myself mentally. Told my best friend we have to talk in a couple of weeks, she said she's scared and I don't blame her, what could this be about? I just want to share myself one more time, like really share everything about me and see if she'd still want to call me her best friend. Like am I still worthy?

okay okay aos asgard thoughts.
episode 8:
number one confusing thing to get out of the way - i knowww it's just reminding the audience of some exposition, but skye's comment in the opening scene seems to suggest that like... it isn't common knowledge... that asgardians are aliens? what else do people think they are??? like i know they know the chitauri are aliens. they know loki wasn't summoning ghosts or demons in new york. but they look at loki himself and they're like sure you can be a fundamental force of nature i guess? and you can still get beaten up by a guy on steroids??
ANYWAY. the berserker staff is an interesting artefact! it's a very self-destructive mechanism - i know they don't quite present it this way, but if you take it at all literally and accept that the added strength comes from the rage and adrenaline the staff causes... in real life, that additional strength comes from pushing past your limits, right? pushing through pain and mental blocks that are there for good reason? even asgardians have those, and even with asgardian healing, making a career out of getting those injuries is not going to be great for you. it's not as bad as the dark elves and the kursed, but it's getting up there. but 1000 years ago was a time of major changes for asgard - conquest of jotunheim, end of the valkyries... - so i wonder if asgard still has berserkers either. either way, it is very telling that the berserkers recruit from ordinary people, and not the nobility.
when randolph isn't being a creep, i like him. he's funny! he's kind of mean! it's refreshing to meet an ordinary asgardian! i also enjoy how (iirc) he conspicuously doesn't mention why he, an asgardian soldier, was sent to earth to begin with, and no-one asks him. how do they keep getting away with this!!!
i can't quite work out what's going on with the "paganist" group. (if there's even a reason for that -ist?) they seem to revere the inanimate powers of asgard, but hate asgardians themselves and fear that asgardians are trying to reassert power over humanity? which makes them like... the very rough pagan equivalent of satanists? "we recognise these gods, but we don't see their power as legitimate." which is an interesting angle to take for social fallout of loki's shenanigans... but still, it does feel a bit status-quoy, somehow. personally i would be more concerned about the standard asatru groups who think they're the gods' favourites etc etc. asgardian power IS sinister. if we were in a thor movie we wld understand this.
episode 15:
sif's characterisation is interesting! this is the most screentime she's had in anything (it might actually add up to more than all her other screentime) but she spends all of it in mission/crisis mode, so it's a very particular side of her. an interesting mix of formal, grave, blunt and dramatic. there's definitely an edge of warrior entitlement to it, but also, like... she clearly isn't nearly as comfortable in that entitlement as, say, thor. even when thor was in evil-dead-brother crisis in the avengers, he didn't read as stiff in the way sif does here. potentially because she isn't familiar with midgard, and/or doesn't want/enjoy mortals' attention? or just because sif has had to fight for status (esp military status) in a way thor has not, so she holds onto it a little too tight...
i'm not sure how i feel about lorelei. i suppose it makes sense for her to want an army if she wants to stay free when asgard are looking for her, so motive isn't a huge concern, but still... as it stands, she doesn't really interest me as a character. but i will say that her prison sounds pretty nightmarish. odin is good at that.
also quite funny to think that shield was in fact unknowingly working with loki at this point. top five things for thor to never ever tell them <3
