i feel like they’d both do their fair share of dancing to be honest. on a good day, hopper strikes me as the kinda guy who would use the wooden spoon as a microphone as he dances around / silly things like that. and joyce seems more like someone who wouldn’t be as exaggerated, but she’d nod her head and move her hips in time to music or her own humming.

but picture this:

hopper had a long shift at the station, and it wasn’t even filled with running around and catching criminals. he spent hours working on unorganised and bad paperwork to the point that he was incredibly stressed. and after a shitty drive home (where did some of these people get their licence?) he’s pretty much done with everything.

joyce has a habit of getting dinner ready so it’ll almost be done by the time hopper is home — after raising two kids it was almost habit to have food ready for when they’d need it. so when hopper walks through the front door all he can smell is some amazing cooking and hear humming from the kitchen. joyce is in a world of her own in the kitchen, humming along to some song that johnathan plays a lot as she chops some vegetables, swaying her hips in time to the song. and after such a shitty day, it makes him smile as he leans against the doorframe, knowing that it’s all worth it when he gets to come home to her.

joyce only realises he’s there when he actually steps into the kitchen and offers him a smile, but drops the vegetables altogether when hopper pulls her into his arms for his own impromptu dance. he had no idea what song she was humming but he tries his best as he spins her around the kitchen, in between mumbled words of how much he missed her.

Your loved ones supported you

Strangers didn't, but why did they matter?

Honestly everyone just wanted the two of you safe and happy.

That's why when you go on dates Hopper trails along.

He thinks you don't notice, but you do

Ever since you had gotten together Joyce had voiced her concern for you two to Hopper

So he decided to keep an eye on you

(Let's be honest, he was going to do it whether Joyce said something or not)

You were basically his son- and even if you weren't, he still felt responsible for you

the people in your ask box giving their reasons for not liking ronance is like. yes, you do you, but they are literally proving your point because what is it about a random f/f ship existing that makes people wanna argue against it ??? but yeah the anti ronance tag is truly a wild place.

This response is quite long, hence the read more! I kinda got off track and it goes into a discussion of canon vs headcanon and speaks a bit about Byler too.

If I were to be generous to Ronance antis, I think a lot of people are frustrated that there is a new canon bisexual character who's been introduced to the show but a lot of the fandom are ignoring her for a headcanon. And in general, members of this fandom and Ronance shippers are quite harsh against Rovickie and I don't think they'd be as harsh if it was an m/f pairing. Because it's the only canon gay pairing so far (I know it hasn't happened yet but it clearly will), people are expecting it to be this perfect romance like Jopper or Lumax but in eight minutes of screen time which is just impossible.

However, I think turning this defensiveness of people who ship Ronance is a bit unfair. So far, Vickie is just not an established character; she's barely had any screen time and she exists only to be Robin's girlfriend. At the moment, it feels a bit like pandering/fan service (although a lot of people make that criticism in bad faith because they view queer relationships as inherently woke or political which is bullshit). I can see the potential in the pairing and I guarantee I'll love them by the end of S5, but I've just not seen them interact as much. I am allowed to think that without it being problematic; just because a queer ship is canon representation doesn't mean I have to like it.

I also think it's quite obvious a lot of people in this fandom haven't had any fandom experiences before. A very frequent response I get to shipping Ronance that I don't respond to (because I can't be bothered to reply every time) is that Nancy canonically likes Jonathan and that Robin canonically likes Vickie. Or that there's no proof that Nancy's gay.

The thing is, I'm not shipping Ronance because I think they're going to canonically get together, I ship them because I like their dynamic both hypothetically and in many on screen interactions they had. I just prefer rivals to lovers than two very similar girls (I know talking a lot doesn't make them the same person but it's all we've really seen of Vickie so far) getting together. When I ship a ship, it's not because it's the most canon, it's because it's the best dynamic.

I see this response to people who ship pairings like Will and Lucas where people will get annoyed because they act like Will hypothetically liking someone other than Mike is erasure which is so odd because I doubt anyone shipping that pairing actually thinks it will be canon, they just think it would be an interesting pairing to explore.

Or how when people try to convince you to ship Byler, they try to convince you why it'll be canon and not why it'll be good (I'm not talking about responding to Byler antis who tell you that it won't happen or talking to fellow Byler shippers, Byler proof and analysis is very valuable). This also applies in reverse when an anon tried to prove that Byler won't be canon...in response to me saying I like friends to lovers.

TL;DR: I'm not gonna ship Rovickie over Ronance just because it's the canon queer relationship. I ship based on whatever pairing is the most interesting to me instead of which one is the most attainable. I understand that lots of people like it and I'm cool with that, but sending me long asks explaining that Rovickie/Jancy are canon isn't going to change my mind on Ronance.

Also a lot of Ronance antis are Nancy antis and that's a whole thing that I've responded to before (check my post index under the Ronance section and go to Ronance and boy drama or the follow up or just click the words there).

I just found out about the change in the script for season 1 where Lonnie joins Nancy and Jonathan to fight the Demogorgon and honestly, I think it is a more interesting character arc than Steve's, am I crazy? Imagine, Lonnie fights and saves his son and then learns about the Upside Down and where Will has been all this time. He changed for the better and stays with the Byers with no ulterior motives this time. Second season and Lonnie would take the place of Bob and I know it sounds delusional, but it was a death or life experience so he MIGHT have changed, and anyways what I actually like about this plot is ALL THE CONTENT THEY COULD HAVE MADE FOR JONATHAN AND THE BYERS !! Imagine if Lonnie get into their lives again, Jonathan would NOT TRUST HIM even if he sees Lonnie trying, he would not give him a second chance because of his trust issues BUT he probably would keep that to himself because I highly believe Will would want to give his father a chance, in the flashback with Jonathan it seems that Will stills want the approval of Lonnie. This leads to a lot more interesting conversations between Jonathan and Will, instead of talking about Bob in the car, it would be about Lonnie, about how they feel or treat him now that he is back. Lonnie and Jonathan could have a confrontation before he leaves with Nancy to see Murray, something on the line of how he is trying to be for the family now and Jonathan not wanting to forgive or forget about all the things Lonnie has done to them, he can try and be the father Will deserves but for Jonathan is too late, BUT THIS IS ALL A LIE because Jonathan wants to believe in his father again but wouldn't let himself because Lonnie has failed them before !!

AND YES, ALL THIS SOUNDS CRAZY because Lonnie is an asshole and would change his kids for a glass of beer, but so is Billy and people love him, so let me finish this!! Finally, IMAGINE if Lonnie actually tries to help Will with the Mindflayer's plot Jonathan goes with Nancy and bla bla bla, he comes back and finds out Lonnie is dead. He found out about Lonnie's sacrifice for his family, about him changing for real, and how he missed the opportunity to heal their relationship, opening a whole new arc to explore for him. ANYWAYS, I just thought it was a more original arc than Steve's but I understand why they didn't go with it, I mean an abusive parent is what it is and there is not really anything that would change them. Even though the point of view of Jonathan and Will about it is what inspired me to write all this rambling, sorry about that I just wanted to get this out of my chest. Love your blog btw <3

Nooo I think Steve coming back there is def the right choice and I love the monster hunting trio in that whole scene. I would not have liked Lonnie to help with anything—he’s an abusive piece of garbage and it makes no sense with his character If he would have helped anyone. He doesn’t deserve any redemption arc and Bob is so sweet; it makes sense he was in s2. I just wish they had followed through more on how much trouble Bob was having getting through to Jonathan.

No imo the only thing that’s weird with Lonnie is that I feel like he would still be harassing the family looking for an angle and money, always popping up in their lives when they don’t need him. Plus, having him pop up would have made sense for Jonathan, Will, and Joyce to have to confront their issues with him. Rather, it’s weird to have him be such a crucial person and backstory in s1 and then not have him back once since then. It would make sense to have him come back in s5 with Jopper together or via flashbacks when Will is Vecna’d and if Jonathan is. But only to stay as awful as he is—he’s continued to have a huge impact on Jonathan’s life and Will’s as well and it’s weird the show doesn’t care about it. It’s like they’ve forgotten his abuse and the audience has too.

I agree that a lot of Bylers are Jancys, Lumaxes, Joppers as well but id argue a lot of Bylers only *casually* ship those ships (and use those ships as support for Byler). They exist, but I actually think it’s rare to find Bylers who ship those ships with equal amount of passion and fervor. I don’t think that’s necessarily because they aren’t queer ships, I think a lot of has to do with the inherent “mystery” behind Byler: looking for clues, etc. whereas those other amazing ships are simply present/canon and aren’t mysterious in nature

I guess I'm just going off of myself and all of my Byler moots, and most of them post about Jancy and Lumax independently of Byler. (Granted, not nearly as much as we post about Byler) But I'd consider myself more than a casual shipper of Jancy and Lumax. To me a casual ship is like you wouldn't be emotionally devastated if they broke up. If Lumax or Jancy broke up I would lose my shit. Tbh although I love Jopper I'm definitely a casual Jopper shipper. Love them together so much but for whatever reason I'm not as emotionally invested. But I'm a Lumax and Jancy ride or die.

And I think that's a good point about the "mystery" because the other ships are already canon so they're not as exciting. SLOW BURN >>>>

That being said, I'm not arguing that a big part of why I ship Byler SO HARD is because it's a queer ship. However, if Milkvan was an actual good ship and had a happy healthy relationship (and if Mike wasn't gay coded to all hell) I would probably ship them just as much as I ship Byler. I'd probably be equally happy with either. I love Mike and El just as much as I love Will, and if they were both happy in that relationship I would want them to stay together. (Just like Will does because he thinks they're happy. My lil unreliable narrator dumb idiot boy <3)

But as it stands Milkvan does not have a good relationship, so I don't ship them. But yes Byler is my favorite ship because it is a queer ship. I don't think that's an issue. I'm queer. I like rep.

Season 4 was worse than Season 1 and 2, but better than Season 3 IMO. Jopper was the best thing about Season 4. Duffers handled their relationship really well. Which Season’s Jopper is your favorite?

Hey anon!!! Yes I 100% agree with you that the Duffers handled jopper really well in 4 and was the best thing about this season! I love jopper in 4 so much that I'd probably say that... season 4 is my favorite jopper. Although I think overall season 1 &2 are the best seasons of stranger things.

I love the journey in season 1. No one knows anything about what's going on. Winona has such a great role in season 1, frantically looking for her kid. Determined to find him, everyone thinks she's lost her mind but come hell or high water she's going to find her son. And damn it she does!

I love government conspiracy coverup arcs on shows. They are so fascinating to me and that's one reason why I love season 1. The coverup isn't nearly as interesting in subsequent seasons because we already are in the know.

Brenner is hands down the best villain on this show. He's evil but there are nuances to his role that just don't seem to exist with Vecna/Henry or Sullivan. He is a terrible person that's abusive to Eleven but there is a part of him that does actually love El. I can see it, I can feel it and MM does such a great job in the role. So I was so happy to see him back in 4. And then he actually dies saving El in the exact way that I had wanted his character to die.

I love season 2 because everyone's lives have changed from the events in season 1 and how they are all affected by it. Hopper's relationship with Eleven is tops this season. Will and Joyce both dealing with PTSD. The introduction of Max who's such a great character. And played phenomenally by Sadie Sink. Owens! Who you think will be another Brenner but doesn't actually turn out to be a bad guy and is more of a grey character. Also Bob, rip I 💕 Bob.

I pick season 4 as my favorite jopper because I really feel like their actions this season really cement the fact that they are soulmates. I have always lightly shipped them but not on an obsessive scale (until now). But 4 really put it out there, the lengths that both of them would go to save the other. Or keep the other safe. Like for me they went from the odd couple that should have hot sex (in 1-3) to soulmate destiny territory (in 4).

I mean if b*ler happens i dont think it's a 'second choice' thing because uh... as annoying as it is thats literally the way the duffers work when it comes to their romance frameworks on the show, most of the couples that they wrote are like that.

joyce and hopper got together after 4 seasons, they have known each other for years prior. joyce had a ''relationship'' with lonnie and even if you dont count that, she had a cute and sweet relationship with bob then. so is hopper sort of a 'second choice' in this context?

or the whole stancy and jancy drama. jonathan is technically the second choice to steve anyway. the whole love triangle was based on that with nancy struggling between steve and jonathan but then choosing jonathan over steve (but then now she is back to have sort of feelings for steve too in S4, honestly i dont even have any idea atp)

it may sound bad and annoying but thats literally how the duffers structure almost all of their romances on the show. the 'second choice' as a concept also doesnt work (especially in the framework of love triangles or playing with such concept and idea with the relationship dynamics)

aside from that i agree with the anon completely and I think the writers should have given Will a potential love interest back in california when they had the chance. Because that would have been the perfect chance to introduce a new potential love interest for Will. Honestly i dont care if b*ler is going to be a thing or not and I dislike the ship because i hate how the writers treat this whole drama when they could have given Will something to work with in this season instead of involving him in this pointless drama for no reason.

I understand what you meant but I guess what anon was getting at, and I agree, is that Mike has consistently chosen El over Will anytime anything resembling a choice was posited to him. So, if B*l*r were to happen, it could only happen in the context of: a) something happens to El and Mike ends up with Will after a timeskip or such (which I think would confirm that Will was a second choice, aside from making Mike look really bad); or b) Mike never loved El at all, she was always a beard to him, and so his choices didn't matter or didn't actually reflect his true feelings. In that second scenario I suppose Will wouldn't be a second choice, it's only B*l*r scenario where he wouldn't be, but again, it would reflect so poorly on Mike's character that I think would be equally as bad.

I also don't think the Jopper example applies here. Yes, Joyce dated Bob before dating Hopper, but we saw romantic tension between them way before that. We knew Hopper was her endgame guy even though she dated Bob first, so narratively, we're not really left feeling he was the "second choice". I'd argue the same is true for Jancy/Stancy, because I think Jonathan was always positioned as the guy Nancy actually had a deeper connection with and attraction to, but I'm agree with you that S4 left me feeling ambivalent in that regard (I do think even if Jancy isn't endgame anymore, it was originally presented as such, so the argument can still count).

Yes I do think they will still be endgame! Mike and Will also fought a lot in s3, but I still believe they will be endgame too. I think a lot of the Jopper endgame evidence comes from Byler parallels/references

They both bicker a lot in s3, their relationship is being developed over multiple seasons, with one person in/out of another relationship struggling to accept their feelings for the other, the history they both have together, etc. It says a lot the duffers aren't rushing into either pairing, we're getting ample development between both couples which is all going to lead up to them being endgame :) (unless one of them dies which I REALLY hope not 😬)

They had been laughing when he said it. Laughing about some stupid joke that wasn't even funny, but they were laughing their heads off because they had had a few too many at Karen's birthday party. Joyce loved how she could have fun with him, now that they were a real couple. Laugh, and be serious, argue and make love - they could do it all. He really was what she had been looking for forever.

In retrospective, if he hadn't felt a little tipsy that moment, he would have most definetely lacked the courage for that particular sentence.

They were curled up next to each other in bed, Joyce's head spinning a little from all the Italian white wine Karen had offered her some hours ago. She moved closer towards him, resting her head on his chest. Her world stopped spinning, he was her rock.

"I want a baby, you know."

Joyce was still giggling though at his words her body suddenly stiffened. Was that still part of the joke?

She quickly realised it wasn't, indicated by Hopper's sudden silence heavily sucking the air out of the room. He seemed to be holding his breath.

"Hopper.", Joyce softly whispered, not knowing what else to say or do.

"No, no, forget about it. I'm drunk. It was just... stupid. Forget it.", he replied, giving her an insecure chuckle as his real response.

"No, Hopper... Jim, please talk to me.", she insisted softly, her hand tenderly caressing his under the comforter.

He sat up and switched on the small lamp on the bedside table. Suddenly, they were both sober again. He looked scared and Joyce felt bad about it. Why couldn't she just happily agree? Why couldn't she just make him happy if that was what he really wanted. She felt so different about this.

"I dunno,..", he continued as he looked down to her. She was on her side, her head propped up on her hand. She looked so beautiful, so beautiful and confused, and God, how often had he imagined to make her the mother of his child?

"Just been thinking about it, now that Jon's gone and the other two are growing up aswell. And... I just think we'd make a damn fine kid, you and I, I don't know, just been dreaming, Joyce.", he confessed. He felt as if this was going the wrong way, he should have kept his mouth shut, just for once.

"Hopper, I...", she stuttered but he did not let her finish her thought. "Just been dreaming 'bout another little girl, your hair, my eyes. Stupid, ain't I? With you, it's... we make love, Joyce, we don't just fuck. And ever so often I've thought in those moments that this was it — this is what it takes to make a baby, a real love kid.", he said, smiling a rather sad smile and his words broke her heart. She hadn't even considered it, or yes, she had, but she had never allowed herself to really consider it, to get lost in that dream. A love kid. Oh my.

"I understand you, I do.", she tried. "But Hopper —", he cut her off mid sentence.

"You don't want one, right?", he asked carefully. This wasn't a topic they should have a fight about, even if they weren't of the same opinion.

"I just think I'm not made to be a mother again. What if I fail? I can't provide for a child, not my mind nor my body can and certainly not my money.", Joyce said as she tried to take his hand back into hers. "Wouldn't get any award for best mom then, would I?"

"You're just talking about yourself, don't you realize that... I'd be there all the way? I would, Joyce. With my money and with all I can give, love and everything. It wouldn't be the way it was with Lonnie. I'd never get drunk the day you go into labour. I'd hold your hand. We'd share it all.", he answered. He had a feeling he knew what this was about. That her doubt wasn't about him but about what she had gone through with Lonnie, with her first pregnancies. That she was afraid. And she was.

"Oh, Hopper, you're... You'd make the best father. I believe that. I do, I truly do. It's just... There's one thing you can't help me carry and that's the pregnancy. Hopper, I'm not exactly twentyfive anymore. I'm.. old. And what if we try and try and it's just too late? How disappointing would that be? Or what if I get pregnant but... what if..? ", she was spilling her thoughts now, her voice sounding hoarse and filled with tears that were not yet rolling down her cheeks.

"I don't want to be the one that has you lose another daughter.", she finally claimed. She sounded rational and clear, but those words hurt so damn hard.

"Let me sleep it through.", she said and went back to cuddling him, her head on his thigh as he still sat up. He combed her hair with his fingers, making sure she felt comfortable and started to relax.

"Joyce, if we ever tried - and I say if - I'd never blame you for anything. Whatever happens, we'll go through it together. We try or we don't, it works or it doesn't. In the end it's your choice to make but everything's fine with me. And I love you.", Jim answered. His voice was softer now, he tried to see things from her perspective.

"As long as I've got you.", he mumbled and switched off the lamp.

1. What's one thing joyce has never told jim/was afraid to tell him? Ohhhhhhhh my god. Okay, this is going to be a MAJOR spoiler alert for my fic. I know this is a hot topic and a bit controversial. It’s something Joyce can barely admit to herself because she’s convinced herself otherwise but... She’s afraid to tell Hopper that Will’s his son. Yes it’s so soap opera cliche, but I love it so pls don’t @ me lol

2. If Joyce and Jim could time travel, and went to Lovers lake, to see their younger selves having a datenight, what would that scenario be like? Because ST is so in love with cliches and nostalgia (hey! me too!), I like to think that they would have a not-a-date date on a hot summer night under the new moon. Joyce packs a picnic so they can lay out underneath the stars on the hood of Hopper’s dad’s Oldsmobile. They get drunk on cheap Boone’s, maybe smoke a joint and burn a pack of smokes, staying up til dawn. Late in the night, when the heat gets to be too much to bare, they strip down and jump in the water (Joyce first, egging Hop on...) and just before the sun comes up, Hopper builds her a fire to dry off. He even carves their initials into an old oak tree, right on the shores of Lover’s Lake.

3. What is the most kinky thing they've ever done together? Haha okay, so I have whole stories written about just this, but here’s the thing... I’m super shy about posting straight up smut. I may or may not post it to an anonymous account on Ao3 in the next little while, if I can work up the courage. If you happen to read a kinky E rated Jopper story on there soon, written by a new author, it will be pretty easy to tell it’s me if you know my writing style. But just pretend like it isn’t me okay? 😅 And for a short answer to tide you over: Hop likes to give face and Joyce is a bj queen. They both enjoy getting away with it in (semi)public but still keeping it as secretive as possible because they. just. can’t. admit their feelings for one another. Stubborn idiots. 4. What is your headcanon on Joyce telling Hopper about what Lonnie did to her? I think she hid it or downplayed it a lot to Hop. 1) Because she knew what both Hopper and Lonnie were capable of and it’s not that she wanted to protect Lonnie perse, she just didn’t want to be the cause of his murder. If anyone could murder someone in Hawkins and get away with it, it would be Hop as the chief of police lol.  2) Joyce felt like she could handle herself at first and like most victims of abuse, didn’t think it was that bad the way Lonnie was around her and the boys, that was just the way he was. And maybe he could change? 3) Eventually, she felt that she let Hopper down. She used to be so confident and sure of herself, that’s the Joyce that Hop left behind in Hawkins when he was drafted to ‘Nam. But that girl was long gone after 12 years married to Lonnie Byers. It made Hopper upset to see her make excuses for him, over and over again, not realizing she deserved better until it was too late. 

TBH I think that played a small part in why they were so hostile to each other at the beginning of the series. These two suck at communication and being open and honest with each other.

5. What is your headcanon on them saying I love you for the first time? Joyce blurts it out first when they first get together as teens, but Hop doesn’t reciprocate it out loud. Joyce regrets saying it until weeks later, he blurts it out at her during a fight. She’s so mad though, it doesn’t register. They finally both say it at the same time, right as he has to leave :( These two have some bad fucking timing. But good news... I think they’ll both say it again pretty soon after Hopper comes back from Russia!

Diff anon, same subject: The way they framed the final shots it is clear those are the endgame pairings holding hands and of course Mike and El with El standing front and center ready to fight.

Yes, and yet I still genuinely don’t get what they were doing with the love triangle then. It’s not that I’m worried about stancy; it’s that I don’t quite think the Duffers know what they want to do, if that makes sense.

You’re so amazing. What do you want to see from Jopper in Season 4(reunion/kiss/heart-to-heart talk/would you like Jopper to be canon in Season 4 or 5 and etc)?

Aww, you’re too sweet, anon. You make me blush. But yes! Season 4. Almost too daunting a thing to consider. There seems to be a million different directions to go, so it’s quite hard to pin down what I’d like to see for sure. I’ll take your question piece by piece and throw out some possibilities.

Reunion - Assuming there is a rescue mission to break Hopper out of Kamchatka and assuming that Joyce is part of it, I like to imagine this goes one of two ways. 

1) They initially come face to face during a moment of urgency that doesn’t give them any time to properly react to each other. Ensues some action that keeps the tension high and the characters preoccupied with trying to to stay safe and alive, until finally, at long last, Joyce and Hopper have the chance to process that the other is really there with them. Hopper is alive. He’s in the room with her. And Joyce is safe. She came all this way. So even though they’ve already been seeing each other for, like, an episode, they’re only now truly seeing each other. And it’s super emotional for both of them.

2) Their first meeting occurs when there is no pressing danger or matter than requires them to move, so they get to have that cathartic reunion right away. Any subsequent action creates a more intense threat because the stakes are slightly higher now that they’ve fully processed the other’s presence. 

I’m also aware of there being rumors of a memory-loss/brainwashing plot line with Hopper this season, and I’m not really a fan of that trope personally. If they go down that route, I hope they don’t take it to such an extreme that he literally can’t remember her when she shows because I don’t know if my heart could take it. 

Kiss - After Hopper is freed, Joyce pulls a “Let-me-look-at-you” and takes his face in her hands. They get lost in each other’s eyes, and overwhelmed by the joy and relief that he’s alive, she kisses him ardently. 

But, you know, something softer and sweeter would be perfectly acceptable too ;)

Heart-to-heart: I’m sure Hopper will be asked a ton of questions about what his experiences have been like during imprisonment, but in terms of a personal conversation with Joyce, the statement that he hasn’t stopped thinking about Eleven or Joyce and her family and that he missed them every day and feels terribly guilty that he let them believe for even a second that he was really gone. And on Joyce’s end, that he has a wonderful girl with wonderful fighting spirit, and that if he hadn’t disappeared, maybe she wouldn’t have left Hawkins. 

And yes, I’d like to hear some I-love-yous. Of course I would. 

(I mean, could I see Hopper, out of fear and concern, calling her reckless and insane for coming to Kamchatka herself to save him when she should have trusted more militantly competent people to do so, only for Joyce to yell back at him that she will do ANY reckless and insane thing necessary to save a person she loves? And she loves him? Yeah, I could).

Canon in Season 4 or 5? - Doesn’t matter to me, especially because I bet they got the awkward will they/won’t they stage out of the way with Season 3. I don’t expect they’ll have much trouble transitioning into a couple after the reunion. 

And this one is just an extra thought I had: Joyce saving Hopper from the tunnels in Season 2 is one of my favorite moments from that season and (I expect) she’ll be helping save him in 4, so I’d like to get a moment of Hopper rescuing Joyce from something (I know he kinda did that when he got her away from the Demo-dogs but that scene was focused on Bob’s death more than anything). 

All of this said, I have no concrete clue how any of this will unfold and I’m excited to see for myself when the season drops. It’s fun to speculate on, though.
