Me, the notes taker: By the way, I have scrawled in all caps 'Don't Forget the Dead Child'. What was that for?
Cleric: Oh yeah! The kid we found that we needed to resurrect. Who has them?
Necromancer Druid with a suspiciously short zombie: Oops.

Donec mors nos separaverit - Love and Death
a/n: hope you enjoy this little self-indulgent meet-cute fic :) I am currently obsessed with Wednesday so send in requests for any of the characters and I would be delighted to write them. also I was listening to Weyes Blood while reading this so you might want to listen to the And In the Darkness, Hearts Aglow album (which I fervently recommend)
pairing: wednesday x fem! necromancer reader
tw: talk about death, organs and resurrection, descriptions of alchemy and necromancer stuff, dead rabbit that gets re-alived
description: Weems needed Wednesday to find an extracurricular activity and that leads to finding you, the singular member of the alchemy club and a necromancer.
Tumblr media
“Well, this has been a complete and utter waste of time.” Wednesday stood at the top of a winding staircase that she hadn’t even remembered seeing at any point in her short time at Nevermore. Which was illogical since the staircase was right next to the path she took to classes. Narrowing her eyes, she took a step into the shadows thinking that the worst that could happen would be her being bored again. The best thing would be a kidnapping or even better the cold embrace of death finally catching up with her, even if it would be a pity not to have solved the mystery.
The walls that lined the staircase were completely bare except for a succession of torches, the cold emanating from the solid stone permeated Wednesday’s bones, making a little smirk appear on her face. A strange combination of herbs and some unusual underlying scent got stronger as she descended the stairs. It reminded her of home. She was liking it better and better every second.
When she finally reached the landing a strange sight awaited her. It was similar to a library but also completely different. Rich, old multi-colored volumes lined one side of the room, a large fireplace containing a lilac and green flame sat behind a table as well as the entirety of the other side of the room had a collection of small windows but mostly had shelves filled with distilled organs, strange bubbling solutions and vials of what seemed to look like black blood.
The most curious sight of all was the woman sitting with her back turned to the stairs, clad in a dark robe with the sleeves rolled up, she had her hands hovering over a… white rabbit? And those hands seemed to have bulging black veins.
“Just a little more, darling.” What previously looked like a lifeless rabbit suddenly jumped a foot in the air but the girl caught it in her now-normal looking hands. “Good boy. Now let’s get you out of here.”
Sensing that the girl was about to turn around, Wednesday’s mouth snapped shut and her usual neutral face reappeared. When the girl caught sight of Wednesday her eyes widened and the hand that was stroking the rabbit immediately stopped.
“Um, may I assist you with something?”
“Principal Weems sent me down here. You are the last extracurricular on my list.” Wednesday answered matter of factually, trying to stop thinking about what she had just seen. She was in awe. Something that didn’t happen often. But she was also suspicious of this girl she had never even heard a thing about from Enid.
“Oh right! You must be Wednesday, she did warn me about your visit. I am Y/N L/N, Nevermore’s resident necromancer.”
Tumblr media
You swallowed quickly after your introduction and looked down to Nivens, your pet rabbit that had somehow had the wonderful idea that he should drink ‘Aqua regia’, a mixture of hydrochloric and nitric acid, the poor fella had nearly been eradicated if you hadn’t found him in time. You went back to stroking his silky hair, glancing up to meet Wednesday’s striking brown eyes again.
“Necromancer as in…”
“Bringing dead things back to life, yes. I also specialize in alchemy but with more of a scientific edge. Which is what this club is all about. Peculiarly enough, not many people exactly appreciate looking over old books or seeing the dead rise again.”
“Well they seem to be missing something quite intriguing.” Your eyebrows shot up, Weems had warned you that Wednesday was well… unpleasant to say the least but this, this was not that.
 “I- thank you.”
“Why are you thanking me? I am merely stating a fact. Death intrigues me and your ability to elude it just adds to the fascination.”
“Glad I have found a like-minded soul. Let me just put Nivens into his cage and I can show you some of the ropes. Feel free to look over anything but be careful to touch anything, that is how this little guy perished.” You bopped Nivens’ nose before pointing to the black vials. “Those you can touch or drink. They’re just coffee with variants of minerals and minute amounts of esters. Side project I was working on a while ago.”
You gave her a nod before slipping into the side room and carefully putting Nivens back into his cage. Passing a stick of celery and double-checking the latch, you took off your cloak and pulled on a comfy, white knit sweater. It gets drafty down here.
Tumblr media
While Y/N was going to put away her Alice in Wonderland rabbit, Wednesday took the opportunity to shake herself out of whatever pleasant wave had come upon her while meeting the necromancer. She had even complimented her! When did she last do that? Probably never. Right, snap out of it, Wednesday.
She first went over to look at the organs, carefully examining each of them and seeing the first states of deterioration on some of them. That explained the unusual smell that lingered in the air. Rotting flesh. One of her signatures.
Wednesday then inspected the black vials that Y/N insisted were coffee. Well being poisoned to death was a comforting thought. She shrugged and picked up four of the little vials and then took a seat on a stool at the center table. Carefully plucking off the stopper on one of them, Wednesday took a swig and let the explosion of flavors encompass her mind. Wow. That was the best coffee she had ever tasted.
Tumblr media
You walked back into the room dawning your sweater when you spotted Wednesday nursing one of the vials as she skimmed over what definitely looked like your journal.
“You know that looking at other people’s personal items isn’t exactly polite, right?” Wednesday looked up from the table and didn’t even have the audacity to look ashamed, her pale face wasn’t even dusted with a blush.
“It wouldn’t be private if it was just sitting out here, ready for anyone to pry.”
“You are quite right. That is one of my old journals so it would mostly contain nonsense. Here, if you are going to look at my material, at least read the interesting things.” You placed my newest and not yet finished leather bound notebook on the table.
After a few minutes of skimming and leafing through the pages, she looked up to try and meet your eye but you had silently made your way over to the fireplace. She found you staring at the flames before carefully adding powders that were on the mantelpiece. Muttering under your breath the inscribed instructions in the journal she had just been looking at. Wednesday shut the book, picked up another vial and made her way over to stand next to you.
“What exactly are you doing?”
“Well… I wanted to do something basic for you so I brought out one of my old experiments. Flame tests I did when I was five years old. Nearly gave my mother more of a heart attack than when she found out I was a necromancer. Here.” You placed a pot of silvery black powder into her hand, careful to avoid skin to skin contact. “Just throw in as much as you’d like.”
Wednesday’s pale fingers picked up a pinch of the powder and then she tossed it into the multi-colored flames. A second later they erupted and turned a bright blue. The room became tinted in a blue sheen that disappeared a second later. Wednesday turned to you with a smirk on her face. Oh no.
“Could we do black?”
Tumblr media
The rest of the afternoon and well into the twilight hours were spent throwing in different powders as well as minutely speaking about random subjects that the girls both held a fascination with. Mainly death. They conversed about their funeral plans and Y/N showed Wednesday some of the different organs she had been experimenting with. All animals, sadly.
You gifted Wednesday her own journal and sent her off with a few historical books as well as one of your own journals. Tasking her with reading them for your next meeting.
Wednesday had never felt such anguish in the presence of a kindred spirit. She had an inkling as to what her parents may feel for each other, even if she would never admit it.
You eagerly awaited the next time you would see Wednesday. You were incredibly unfamiliar with the feelings that sprouted the second she had entered your little world but you were eager to explore them.
Tumblr media
hope you enjoyed it and feel free to voice ur thoughts in the comments

Now that the plot of Dark Wing has picked up the pace, it's hard for me not to keep up with the monthly releases. So I figured I might as well post some translated scripts here. Let me know if this interests you. (I'll still release the edited pages once the volume is out, just like before.)
Saint Seiya: Dark Wing Chapter 24: The Golden Scorpion Princess

Soujiro: - All right, listen up, Eulalia, Vassilios. - For this undercover mission, our top priority is to not stand out. - Even here, at this academy, where there are a lot of people with a talent for cosmo, - if you stand out even a little, it's not just our target who will become suspicious, - but also the students.
Gemini Gold Saint, Soujiro
Eulalia: - Hmph! - Just leave it to me, Soujiro. - I, Scorpio Eulalia, - will thoroughly keep a low profile!
Scorpio Gold Saint, Eulalia
Vassilios: - So this is what a Japanese school looks like, huh?… ♪

Vassilios: - Hahahah! Sure! - How about a Japanese anime song themed karaoke?
Students: - Kyah! - Going to an anime-themed karaoke with a hottie sounds great!! (girls) - Kyah!! Kyah!! (boys) - *teeth clenching*
Soujiro: - (He's super popular too!) - (I told them not to draw attention…)
Page 5
Soujiro: - (Should we switch tactics,) - (and intentionally stand out to lure out our enemy?…) - (It looks like it's female students who are disappearing,) - (so if Eulalia acts as bait,) - (we might be able to find out how they're being kidnapped…) - Hmm… - (Sho is colleagues with a lot of girls.) - (It would be easier if we could work together…)

Charlotte: - Soujiro, - you believe in them, don't you?
Soujiro: - *nod* - (Yes.) - (I trust them.) - (But…)
Page 10
Soujiro: - (What if…) - (…they're Demiurgos's agents?) - (Could I…) - (…take them in a fight…?)
Page 11
Eulalia: - Sigh… - It was impossible - to check out all the club activities… - It's a classic in Japanese school stories. - I was looking forward to joining some clubs, but… - Soujiro left to have a secret meeting with an ally, - and Vassilios wandered off somewhere. - Hmm…

Cohort Intelligence Files
Tumblr media
Are the names of generals and government officials like the Head of Intelligence secret information? Like, obviously the names of individual CIA agents are secret, but the name of the head of the organization isn't, and neither are the names of the military generals of any country, that I know of. They seem to broadly revere and respect the military in the Empire, so it's odd that information like this would be secret
Judith's description of herself and Marta reads like a resume, lmao. Was she trying to impress or prove herself to these generals or her fellow Cohort members?
Also, just like a note here at the start that she records everyone's marital attachments, or lack thereof like she thinks this might be important somehow to the Lyctor trial, which seems odd to me, but you know, I'd be willing to believe that that's just me, so let me know what you think. In the event, it looks like the only person who actually did have marital ties outside the Lyctor trial was Protesilaus, and he died before he even arrived
I also note that although Judith makes notes of every cavalier's preferred offhand weapon, it never seems to occur to her that some cavaliers might have a preferred main weapon that isn't a rapier, which was true for at least Gideon and Camilla, and potentially could have also been true for (in order of decreasing likelihood) Colum, Jeannemary, and Magnus
Another note that it does seem in some cases like the reason why the cavaliers are all cavaliers primary is an accident (like Jeannemary only achieving that title relatively recently), but it's not explained why Magnus was cavalier primary. This section describes Abigail as if she is actually the ruling lady of her House, but it does say in the Dramatis Personae that she is merely the heir. I know the Fifth has this custom of making the spouse into the cavalier and probably the title of "primary" also doesn't have to be earned with marital skill, but in that case wouldn't the actual ruler's cavlier/spouse be the cavalier primary?
Also, it's not just the Fourth House - most of the other cavaliers also have histories of being made cavaliers or even participating in military service in the like 11-13 age range
Tumblr media
"Protesilaus Ebdoma of the Sixth". Typo?
Tumblr media
I notice she inadvertently forgot to mention the pantsing incident
It's interesting that a) she doesn't suspect that Corona might not be a necromancer even though she's personally known the twins since childhood, and that b) even though she has the exact same set of information about the necromantic abilities of both twins and realizes that Corona'a beauty is beguiling, she guesses that Ianthe is the worse necromancer and find it suspicious that Ianthe doesn't do necromancy without her sister in the room but does not find this suspicious about Corona. So that con has been going on for a long, long time. It's also interesting that the twins' parents seem to be devoted enough to the idea of what a cavalier should be that they didn't give Corona her own cavalier for appearance's sake and instead claimed that Naberius was both twins' cavalier, even though that was considered weird
What does "Resurrection-purity family" mean? Surely everyone is a descendant of someone who was resurrected, if I understand the history right, right?
Tumblr media
It's not just that gay marriage is normalized - we actually have gay arranged marriage, as well. From a like, inheritance of nobility standpoint, I'm a little curious about what the utility of gay arranged marriage would be, but it sounds like a substantial amount of the population of the Fourth House are test tube babies anyway, so many it actually doesn't matter. That does seem pretty convenient when people are likely to die young before they have a chance to have kids naturally.
Tumblr media
Interesting note, "Sir" is gender-neutral. Yes, I remember that she has "Knight" as one of her titles
Tumblr media
This is just a guess, but I'm going to go with "in-depth study of the history of this universe probably inspires anti-Cohort sentiment"
Tumblr media
If Judith ever met Magnus personally she neglected to mention that, but I like to think that what this sentence means is that Fifth House bureaucrats all have a penchant for dad jokes. But I'm guessing the more boring interpretation that they are bad at fighting is what we're actually meant to take away from this
Tumblr media
"Doesn't have the correct nerd aesthetic, v. disappointed"
Tumblr media
This is funny - she has pretty much no information about Camilla except her name, birthday, birth place, and the age when she became Palamedes' cavalier, but she just makes up a bunch of stuff here just based entirely on her perception of the Sixth House as a whole. Like, she also doesn't have any information about the Ninth House, but doesn't make any assumptions about them other than "necromancer will be a bone adept". This is kind of interesting, considering that Naberius clearly had preconceptions about what the Ninth cavalier was going to be like ("necro suitcase", etc.)
I'm also sort of curious about what "cavalier stage" Judith was envisioning here, and what role she thought the cavaliers were going to play in this
It's interesting that Protesilaus served Dulcinea's father as cavalier secondary before serving Dulcinea as cavalier primary, both because it makes me more confused about how primary and secondary status is determined, and also because this seems to violate all the stuff in the previous Sermon about the cavalier/necromancer relationship, it seems like this would be kind of weird and not ideal. Possibly Judith is right that this was only done because Dulcinea was expected to die young
Tumblr media
So Colum is at least twice as old as Mayonnaise Uncle
Tumblr media
I wonder why the contents of the shuttles would be hidden. It's not like their big secret is about what they're importing or exporting to/from other places. Are there additional Ninth House secrets that are yet to be uncovered?
The Nook app has been a lot better recently, and today it waited until I had gotten done with this section before crashing. Commendably done
It looks like the only thing left is the pronunciation guide (which I've already read) and the beginning excerpt of Harrow the Ninth, which I'll get to when I buy the book. Interestingly, Harrow seems to be in the second person, which is cool. I got very used to second person back when I was in Homestuck fandom, and actually wrote ~40,000 words of second person POV fanfic back in 2012, although second person Homestuck fanfic was usually in the present tense, whereas this appears to be in the past tense. Honestly, if I had to pick something to be Homestuck's best legacy, it might be normalizing the two styles of fanfic that were pretty much universally hated back in the early aughts to the point where they were often banned on fanfiction archives: second person POV/"You-fic" and chatlog fic. But I'm not sure why this book is in second person when the first book was in third person. I mean, I guess Swordspoint and the Fall of Kings were in third person and then Privilege of the Sword was in first person, but that wasn't really a trilogy where one book followed directly from the end of the last. Although I guess I don't actually know for sure that the Locked Tomb is that kind of series because I've only read one book so far
But in any case, this appears to be it for Gideon the Ninth. Next I'm going to try to find The Mysterious Study of Dr. Sex, although I am not having any luck finding it as a Nook ebook. Does anyone know if I can get it as an epub from somewhere?

Fake Fic Summaries 32/?, the Putting the Romance in Necromancer edition
I’ve been having a recurring narrative dream and I gotta write down what I have before it forever leaves my mind and also I told my friend how I would frame it and laughter was induced so let’s gooooooo!
~
The framing device is: you know those extremely long isekai titles? Well…
I’m a Hitchhiker Who Fell in Love at First Sight with a Necromancer on a Mission to Resurrect His Boyfriend Whose Dead Body Is Being Experimented on by a Shadowy Government Agency Because He is a Prince from an Alternate Universe A love story
So, as the title would suggest, it starts with a hitchhiker on the side of an empty highway. There’s nothing around. It’s snowing. He’s not particularly well equipped for the weather or for roughing it. He may or may not have a guitar, I haven’t decided.
He thinks he’s going to die. He’s probably going to die. He may be experiencing hypothermia. He’s in Canada.
Like a mirage, a vehicle approaches far in the distance. This is his last chance at survival. He needs to get out of the cold.
Is it a bus? Is it a truck? Is it a manifestation of death to free him from this snowy hell?
Whatever it is, it slows for him, and when our hitchhiker focuses on the driver, he sees an angel and falls in love.
He will soon find out that the driver is not an angel, but he will not be any less in love.
they get to the secret government base, split up to find boyfriend’s body, of course it’s hitchhiker who finds him, extremely restrained to a gurney even though he appears to be dead? hitchhiker is very complimentary and chatters a lot to boyfriend as he releases restraints and tries to find something with wheels to convey the body and maybe a blanket (lab coat?) because it’s pretty cold (and obvs the body is naked, lol) (and maybe there’s a box/bag with important items or files? unsure)
anyway, on the getting back to the RV, hitchhiker with boyfriend on wheels are spotted, hitchhiker totally expects to die (and does not think he has endeared himself enough to necromancer enough to be resurrected with love) but the dead(?) boyfriend moves so fast to protect hitchhiker and over all hitchhiker may very well fall in love yet again but now he’s extremely crushed by knowing they have each other.
they escape—maybe dead(?) boyfriend goes back to being catatonic after dispatching the immediate guards—and hitchhiker is so out of his depth that he’s now just abiding by the plan because head empty no thoughts. thankfully, nothing deterred necromancer in returning to the RV so they all reload and get back on the road ASAP.
Hitchhiker offers to drive so that necromancer and boyfriend can properly reunite/necromancer can finish resurrection ritual, etc. and he’s just driving slightly heartbroken and trying to both eavesdrop and not on the two behind him. he can’t hear much. so they’re not passionately reaffirming their love for each other which is nice. but also, maybe that’s because they’re so confident and steady in their devotion to each other that nothing needs to be conveyed passionately? ahhhh so heart broken.
then after a while, necromancer says boyfriend can drive since he doesn’t need to sleep and at this point he just needs time to come fully back to life. hitchhiker is like, coolio, i’m going to sleep (and be heartbroken) maybe he overhears necromancer talking to boyfriend about opinion on hitchhiker, but mostly he just goes to sleep.
he wonders if they’ll drop him off in the next city. the sentimental heartbroken part of him hopes so, because he doesn’t want to third wheel it so spectacularly. but the logical part is like: hey, we were dying of hypothermia before, a little yearning will not literally kill you, also it’s not like you’re a master thief, the secret government agency probably had cameras up and they know what you look like.
and then the RV slows because there’s something in the road. a car broken down or something? suspiciously damaged considering theres no signs of other vehicles anywhere. (perhaps tires blown out?) where a couple of people are sheltering from the ongoing cold weather.
hitchhiker wakes up enough to get involved—ie, with trusting, optimistic heart say that he thinks they should help this couple, the same way that necromancer helped him. and necromancer certainly can’t say no to that—so they let the couple and their strange amount of duffel bags into the RV and hitchhiker goes back to sleep with the sounds of both couples seemingly getting along fine. he wonders, again, if with this new couple they’ll get rid of their awkward fifth wheel.
and then, after what seems to be a mere blink of sleep, hitchhiker is rudely awaken by the man of the couple yanking him out of bed and holding a knife to his throat. uhoh, the couple were bank robbers fleeing from the city whose getaway car broke down on the road on the way out and who certainly don’t want to go into the city where they are highly wanted, nor do they want to split the loot five ways so they’re trying to commandeer the RV to finish their heist.
the scene: hitchhiker with knife to throat as the male robber makes his demands. necromancer, also with knife to throat, as female robber escorts him out of the stopped RV. recently resurrected boyfriend holding back and staring silently because he doesn’t have all of his mental faculties online yet nor does he want to risk a knife in a throat.
a noise, the female robber screams from outside. the male robber, distracted, moves his knife enough that boyfriend makes a move. one second absolutely stock still, the next the male robber’s hand holding the knife is ripped off his body, the next blood sprays across hitchhiker’s face as boyfriend bites into male robber’s neck, the next male robber is dead on the floor of the RV and the boyfriend is reaching for the hitchhiker.
hitchhiker, understandably, flinches away. boyfriend, covered in blood, flinches away from his flinch. necromancer, absolutely blasé, walks back into the RV with a human heart in his hand, complaining about the mess. he admonishes boyfriend for being such a messy eater, but equally hands over the human heart (presumably female robber) to boyfriend. as a treat.
hitchhiker, realizing that the violence was defensive in nature and somehow no less in love with both of them, thanks boyfriend for saving him and also apologizes for flinching. boyfriend, still without words, just kinda… leans up in hitchhiker’s space and immediately gets his face shoved away by necromancer who is fondly exasperated with him. you’re going to be so embarrassed when your brain comes back.
hitchhiker thinks for being so affectionate with someone who is not necromancer. necromancer knows it’s because boyfriend is a gentleman and such brazen behavior without getting hitchhiker’s explicit consent would be absolutely shameful.
anyway, now they have two dead bodies (which boyfriend will eat to speed up the revivification process and also hide the evidence) and four duffel bags full of cold hard cash so… they can now have the weird poly romcom roadtrip that my dreams wanted me to set up but not actually finish without having to worry about logistics of resources and such.
putting the romance in necromancer
if you read all of that, i’m sorry, lol

DC Justice League: Dark Rebirth
In a universe where Darkseid won, effectively ruining the Earth, leaving husks of cities and towns. He killed Superman, and took control of the rest of the big league members of the Justice League. Darkseid even brought the planet Apocalypse to replace the Moon. But he left one hole in his plan empty… he didn’t capture Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and Redhood, alongside a few other heroes and villains, which include the likes of Zatanna, Question, Batwoman, Batgirl, Artemis, Green Arrow, Bane, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, Captain Cold, Black Manta, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Mr. Freeze, Cheetah, and Solomm Grundy. Together they survive the wastelands, killing and avoiding parademons who wander the dead planet. The team also looks for other survivors, who are scattered around the world. Little do they all know though, a new being is about to step into the limelight, with a goal to save Earth… _______________________________________________________
This being is named Deathjaw. He’s a necromancer from Hell who has always dreamed of redeeming himself from the wrongs he’s done in the efforts of good. So he studied for centuries but when millions of lives began to enter Hell, Deathjaw became suspicious of the now swarming new waves of tormented souls being thrown to Hell. While the Righteous Demons judged them, Deathjaw questioned a few until he learned of what happened in the mortal realm. It was then Deathjaw decided to leave the realm of the Dead to fix the problem, taking his personal assistant Dark Cyber, a powerful knight infused with the powers of dark magic and demonhood. Deathjaw used a powerful spell to enter the mortal realm, stepping out into the ruins of Gotham. He ran into Killer Moth and Clayface who were trying to escape the Parademons. While Deathjaw couldn’t save Killer Moth, who was eviscerated by the demons, he and Dark Cyber were able to save Clayface, who told them everything that happened. Deathjaw began to plot while escorting Clayface to a safehouse, run by the surviving heroes and villains. Deathjaw left the safehouse, leaving Dark Cyber to help guard. _______________________________________________________
Deathjaw came up with a plan that would require a lot of magic but if he could pull it off, Deathjaw was sure he could help face Darkseid. During his travels, Deathjaw would come across a lot of survivors, who he’d direct towards the various safehouses he would come across, sometimes helping defend them from the eyes of the parademons and Darkseid. Eventually he came to the ruins of Metropolis. Where LexCorp once stood was a massive crater, and in the center was the body of Superman. Darkjaw had decided to resurrect the symbol of Hope using a spell he had learned and manipulated slightly by Trigon himself. Superman had been torn apart by Darkseid, but with the spell, Superman would be able to regenerate himself from tremendous damage. Alongside that, Superman would achieve various other abilities. But Deathjaw also knew that by reviving Superman, Darkseid’s attention would be gained, so Deathjaw took the body to the living planet Io, who while the rest of the Green Lanterns had been slain, still lived thanks to some last minute thinking by the Guardians. Io helped gather the magic required to summon the massive spell, and Deathjaw used it all to revive the mighty Superman. While Superman wasn’t exactly happy, he accepted the facts and with Deathjaw they returned to Earth, where Deathjaw executed the next phase of his plan. _______________________________________________________
Once they arrived on Earth, Darkseid appeared, annoyed that Superman was alive once again. The two clashed once more, now on equal footing. While they fought, Deathjaw teleported to Apocalypse. There he used his magic to track and fight the various controlled Justice League members. There was Wonder Woman, who’s body had been turned into a cyborg. Then it was the Flash, who was forced to have his arms replaced and his eyes removed, replaced with a visor. Green Lantern was turned into Dark Lantern, his ring corrupted with Dark Matter. Martian Manhunter was turned into a Super Parademon, having all his abilities but a deadly hunter instinct. Aquaman was also turned into a Super Parademon, with fish-like features. Finally, Batman… they were turned into Darkseid’s military general, his body mainly unaltered, mainly his legs and eye being replaced. Deathjaw took each one out using his magic, and then reversed the mind control forced upon them. With the Justice League freed, they returned to Earth to see Superman and Darkseid still fighting. The fighting had brought the survivors out as well, mainly holding off the parademons. The Justice League hopped into the fight to save Earth. Deathjaw joined Superman to fight Darkseid. _______________________________________________________
During the fight, Darkseid would taunt Deathjaw, questioning why Hell spawn would even want to save Earth. Deathjaw explained that in life, he used Necromancy to defend his family and friends, but the king who ruled the kingdom Deathjaw lived in forced Deathjaw to raise an undead to serve the king, and in their first battle, many innocent lives were lost to the chaotic army, causing Deathjaw’s family to be killed. Enraged, Deathjaw killed the king and was hung for the act. Deathjaw explained further that Darkseid reminded him of that king, and if Deathjaw had to die once again in order to not only save Earth but redeem himself, he would. Deathjaw then activated his true form, a Fallen Archangel, and helped Superman fight the dark tyrant. Nearing the end of the fight, Deathjaw decided to use a move that would surely kill him, but also end Darksied’s threat forever. With Superman’s help, they were able to stun Darkseid long enough for them to summon a wormhole to something Deathjaw called to Fallen Graveyard, a universe that swallowed anything and anyone whole. With help from everyone, Deathjaw and Superman were able to push Darkseid into the wormhole, and forced all the parademons to follow suit, all being eradicated almost immediately. Deathjaw would fall onto the ground, feeling the spell take its toll. But Dark Cyber is able to reverse the effects, truly allowing Deathjaw, alongside the rest of the living members of Earth, a second chance of living on Earth. And so began, while Grim and Dark, a Hopeful Rebirth. _______________________________________________________
DC Justice League: Dark Rebirth is something I came up with relatively recently, and I really wanted to somehow write a somewhat dark but hope filled story about a Darkseid invasion. So this is what it became! I’m very happy with what I did with this!
Okay now to the basic facts one should know:
This plot would go around for a few “episodes” due to the extensivity of the story.
Characters like Lex Luthor, The Joker, Sinestro, Black Adam, etc are most likely dead.
Deathjaw and Dark Cyber ARE my own original characters for the DC AU.
Is Deathjaw very powerful? YES. That’s the point of his character, he’s supposed to be this powerful figure who limits himself due to his past. He only really goes full power against Darkseid.
This plot is HEAVILY inspired by some of the Animated DC Universe’s concepts of Darkseid’s invasion and such.
Is Alfred alive? Yes. Yes he is. I ain’t killing the lovely old bastard.
The “designs” for the manipulated members of the Justice League are heavily Borg/General Grievous/Ultron inspired, with obvious inspirations for Darkseid’s army itself.
To all wondering, yes Trigon taught Deathjaw. To an extent. It was really just Deathjaw examining Trigon using his powers.
Will I do short stories or art with this universe? Yes but most Epilogue stuff. It’s funner that way.
(Yall I made a youtube playlist just for this lol. And yes I just wanted to post something a little different.)

My physical copy of Nona arrived today, and despite having at least three other books that arrived this week, I think I’m going to start a full reread of the Locked Tomb.  Anyway, this is the spoiler post.
Not questions.
1) John renamed everyone after the Resurrection.  He 100% renamed everyone so they’d sound impressive. 2) Kiriona is Maori for Gideon (someone else pointed this out).  In any case, I don’t think she’s a “evil Gideon” or anything like that.  She’s just pissed that she gave her life to Harrow, and hasn’t been able to talk to her since she died.  Being packed away via lobotomy, finding Harrow’s body with someone else driving it around.  I’m sure from her point of view, Harrow’s ignoring her texts and won’t pick up the phone. 3) Harrow is going to hell, through the tower, which has to connect to one of the stomas in the river.  One interesting thing: Augustine was dragged through a stoma, as was Ulysses.  I would not be surprised if she sees them while there. 4) John definitely killed Gideon (original).  I don’t know if it’s because he launched missiles or if he stopped his heart like he said (it did not happen the way John said), but he killed him.  I think this is one of the things that John does feel guilty about. 5) Nona translates everything, so she’s Crown, not Corona, and that’s wonderful. 6) I’m not sure that I’m sad for Palamedes and Camilla.  Palamedes is the smartest person in the story.  I’m sure he did it carefully, so that someone, let’s say the greatest necromancer of her generation, Harrowhark Nonagesimus, could pick the souls apart.
Questions:
1) How did John get Gideon’s body?  How did Gideon’s soul get back into her body after book 2? 2) How did Team PCP (Palamedes, Camilla, Pyrrha) get Harrow’s body? 3) “I picked you to change, and this is how you repay me?”  Why was John picked to be the first necromancer?  What did he do?  He doesn’t go into that, just implies that one day he could make corpses incorruptible, and that’s suspicious. 4) The quote is that the tower has “reactivated.”  When was it active before?  I assume during the Resurrection?  What triggered it this time?  My notes ask if it’s because Gideon’s soul is immortal and special, and when she died she messed with the river.  Another post notes that Kiriona and Ianthe are Tower Princes.  Is this something Jod was anticipating? 5) “Where did you put the people?  Where did they go?”  Did John put everyone he didn’t need/didn’t need yet in hell? 6) Harrow is going to hell.  Will part one of Alecto be Harrow re-enacting the Harrowing of Hell?  Is she going to rally all the souls that John stuffed into hell? 7) What was Cassiopeia preparing for when she made sure the Sixth could leave?  Was she rebelling against John, or did she realize that the Resurrection Beasts made staying permanently impossible? 8) Can John make a rock so heavy, even he can’t lift it?  Can John put a Mercymorn back together again, even if he’s turned her into a “hot shower of ribs, meat, and diaphragm”? 9) Paul?  Like the apostle?  I just hope he’s less of a jerk if so.

Nona the Ninth John chapter verses
After finishing going through the symbols in the chapter headings I wasn’t sure about doing the same for the verses referred to in the John chapters, because it seems that someone had solved those as a code, but there are quite a few pretty good ones that feel relevant, so let’s go. I am no bible scholar and have next to zero Christian background so I’m keeping the parallels discussion within brackets and am mostly going to describe the chapter. Quotes from the New International Version.
John 20:8 – “Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.” John begins his story of the end of Earth. At the end its revealed he’s talking to Harrow (who had, of course, reached the Tomb first).
John 5:20 – “For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.” John’s cryo plan is scrapped but when the electricity maintaining their experimental bodies is shut, the bodies he touched stayed incorruptible. (the first miracle, the start of his great work)
John 15:23 – “Whoever hates me hates my Father as well.” John's necromantic ability keeps developing up to the point where he can move dead bodies, and names Ulysses and Titania. (not sure on this one)
John 5:18 – “For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.” The group continues figuring out what John can and cannot do, attempt to figure out how they can use this ability to help the save the Earth, and get attention to themselves by streaming. (‘Two scientists, an engineer, a detective, a lawyer, and an artist walk into a bar to help me become God’)
John 8:1 – “but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.” (This verse is the beginning of John 8:1-11 where people gathered to be taught by Jesus, where he proclaims of the woman caught in the act of adultery “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”) People start coming to see John and he heals some of them. The government calls his group a cult and attempt a police raid. John makes the cow wall. (tenuous, but some parallels with the gathering of people and an attempt by those in power to undermine what is perceived as a cult?)
John 19:18 – “There they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.” John’s group faces severe political backlash. John starts attempting a true resurrection and figuring out the soul. They discover that their old backers were making a new plan involving FTL, which they think is incredibly suspicious, and dismissed their old cryo plan with the criticisms they made themselves. (ouch)
John 5:1 – “Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals.” (The beginning of John 5:1-9, where Jesus tells the invalid “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” and at once cures him) John gets approached by an unnamed group to fake the life of their dead leader. The FTL project gets international approval and the group’s objections get ignored. They find out their client is a nation-state and A- and M- negotiate them a nuke. (I can see John quoting "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk” as he puppets the guy around, just for kicks)
John 3:20 – “Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed” The FTL backers lie like hell in the face of John’s evidence that they weren’t building enough ships to meet their claims. John leans hard into the necromancer cult thing. (this verse is so alarmingly relevant that I’m marvelling how Tamsyn Muir puts in a code at the same time)
John 9:22 – “His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue.” (this verse refers to Jesus healing the blind man and the disbelief in his miracle) John gets a lot of new cultists. A gunfight breaks out among them and five people die, John uses their deaths to kill everyone in the vicinity with a firearm. (don’t think there’s a direct link here)
John 1:20 – “He did not fail to confess, but confessed freely, “I am not the Messiah.”” John kills Earth and the whole solar system, creates Alecto, and fails to stop the trillionaires from escaping. (this one is just. wow)
John 5:4 – “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.” (This verse comes from the King James Bible, because apparently its not found in most modern translations.) Harrow asks John her questions and they skim through the resurrection itself and what comes after. John says there’ll be no forgiveness, not for himself nor those who left. Harrow decides to find out what happened to the souls that didn’t enter the River, to understand God for herself, and steps into the River, walking towards the Tower. (Harrow would be so upset at being compared to an angel, which amuses me. I love that this ‘missing’ controversial verse is for the chapter where Harrow and John break character from the dream and Harrow questions John’s narrative.)

Starting out with Village Necromancer
1 season = 13 weeks 1 card/day 1 year = 4 seasons use a d6 to decide of a scenario goes well or not for a character. 1-3 varying levels of bad 4-6 varying levels of good Character creation: Name: Kamille/ Beast Pronouns: Grr/grr/grs Appearance: long neck, beak, big body hidden in a cloak, scrutinizing eyebrows, big black eyes, wild grey and black feathers on dthe head and neck. 2 pairs of clawed hands. Tardigrade legs with which grr can jump pretty high. Can grr fly? maybe:3 Clothing: a big, fuzzy dark blue cloak, big witch hat, dark green. Why a necromancer? I don't know where I come from, but since I started traveling, looking for a way to become a dragon and trying to discover the spiritual ideas of what it means to ve a dragon, I kept bumping into death. Not in an unfriendy way. I trust the fates, I have a long life ahead of me, I will gladly spend a portion of it bonding with the dead. What are your codes of ethics? I respect DNRs ( do not resurrect) above all else. What are your favourite necromantic spells? I don't know yet. World Creation What setting is your world? Folk tale, ballad-like fantasy Village: the Forest with an above ground cemetery. Klaufalva. What does your new residence look like? There's a really old big tree in the cemetery. I built a little hut in it's crown. It is a mixed cemetery for every class of people, but the richer people's graves and mausoleums are closer to the village. Idon't bring my work to the hut. At the foot of the tree there's a little garden, that I use. The village doesn't really have a close-knit community. The houses in the forest are a little too far away from each other for that. The houseshave very steep wooden roofs and some of them are even 3 stories high. It's hard to tell exactly where the borders of the village are, but there's a complex of houses a 10 minutes walk from the cemetery, where a noble family lives. At the other side of the forest lives a witch. They make health potions and manage the spiritual well-being of the village. (Although I don't yet know how well). There is one bigger clearing near the noble's house that's sometimes used as a marketplace. At the side of the clearing there's a small tavern. Travelers often only percieve that much of the village. The villagers are slow to notice my arrival. They are a bit suspicious, but not hostile. They form their opinions seperate from one another. The first person I meet is the witch. Before my arrival they were the one to take care of the cemetery, although they much prefer working with the living.

Hi there 😊 You said a little while ago I should shoot you an update about my horrible little necromancer. I didn’t have much to share just then but now I do~
He went into a time pit to get a necromantic ring and got aged 10 years in the process.
He plans on going into a second time pit to try to steal longevity from it and hopefully not get aged further in the process. This is a good idea that won’t backfire at all.
He also got a pocket watch from a different time pit that he managed to not get aged from, which belonged to his mentor, which lets him break the rules of magic a little. He’s totally not abusing it at all, and it’s absolutely not a corrupting influence in his life. Same with his mentor, definitely not a terrible influence on him. His mentor btw is a time traveling necromancer nine-tailed kitsune from an alternative timeline who resurrected Calio when he apparently died at the start of his memory loss. So there’s that 😂. Calio feels like he owes his mentor and trusts him implicitly. The rest of the party distrusts him IMMENSELY and they keep warning Calio to be wary of him, and that he looks at Calio like he owns him—warnings which are so far failing to get through to him.
Also Calio got a helm of telepathy, so he can talk in people’s heads now. So far he has only used it to try (and fail) to read the boss of a dungeon’s mind, and to talk to the party witch’s familiar mentally because he’s suspicious of her (the familiar not the witch, he considers the witch Edeya his best friend—although he hasn’t told her this because he’s emotionally inept)
Oooo, this is super interesting! He just gets worse and worse /pos, it’s very intriguing watching characters sorta spiral into their flaws. The whole thing with the mentor too is very cool— I wonder what’s in store there, and how a betrayal might affect him if it happens! Tysm for the update!! :D

hang on a sec. does everyone alive think that necromancers were always a thing. because i’m rereading gtn and harrow says the facility is from pre-resurrection but then she says that theorems and tests were left down there “for any necromancer talented enough to understand what they were doing”
so either she thinks necromancers were always a thing and is referring to pre-resurrection humans as necromancers, or she thinks that pre-resurrection humans had knowledge of necromancy and somehow did a chicken before the egg sort of thing where they designed the tests before there was actual necromancy

"Went to see a man about a king" haunts me more than any other line in that book. What is she planning
Tumblr media
All images have alt text
I HAVE NO IDEA.
The first time I read the Harrow the Ninth I was balls to the wall obsessed with Gideon, so I skimmed right over this line. Now, though? It haunts me too.
Quick recap on the context for those following along at home: this is the last line of the Epiparados of Harrow the Ninth. Ianthe and Harrow are on the Erabos, and it has been two days since the final chapter of Gideon the Ninth. The kind of personality that Ianthe is being said to have is the kind of personality that can 'put their hands back on the reins after they've been taken off', which I take to mean the sort of personality that can recover and bounce back when one's plans are seriously derailed.
So what are you planning, Miss Yanthe? Let's break it down.
Okay. I don't have any solid theories yet, but there are a limited number of men she could be going to see at this point in the timeline. The options seem to me to be 1) John 2) Admiral Sarpedon 3) An as-yet unintroduced character.
As to what she's seeing him about, well....
The formulation of the line implies that it's clandestine, whatever it is. The lead-in, about being able to roll with punches and take control back, implies that whatever sneaky thing she's doing isn't a new plan so much as an adjustment to a prior plan that has gone awry. This was the most enigmatic part of the statement until As Yet Unsent dropped and clued us in that the Tridentarii have been studying large-scale politics as well as large-scale energy transfer.
As for the queen, the main candidates to my mind are 1) Coronabeth 2) Ianthe herself 3) Harrow 4) Ianthe's mother 5) An as-yet unintroduced character.
Looking at the options laid out like this, my money is on the man being Admiral Sarpedon and the queen being Coronabeth. Hear me out.
First of all, the Admiral has a name from the Iliad, but has only had a brief speaking role. He is actually the only named character with a speaking role who has not had an effect on the plot. That's suspicious. Even more suspicious that Sarpedon in the Iliad is known for stressing the importance of a king leading battles from the front, to keep the respect of his people. You may already have noticed that Admiral Sarpedon's one speaking role is, true to theme, to object to John leaving the frontlines to live on the Mithraeum. Mercy pulling John away from his Empire may have caused more trouble than we know. Secondly, to tie Sarpedon back to Ianthe and her queen, I strongly suspect that Sarpedon is Judith's father. If I'm right about that, Ianthe would have both a personal connection to him and inside information about his daughter's fate to leverage.
I don't think I need to explain Corona being the queen, the plan will explain that.
So if Sarpedon is the man and Corona is the queen, what was the plan Ianthe wanted to see him about? This is the answer I think we get in As Yet Unsent:
Tumblr media
Just like Ianthe must have noticed that the energy exchange of the Nine Houses doesn't add up, Corona has noticed that their economic structure is unstable and unsustainable. Ianthe has been trying to reverse engineer the Resurrection and by extention discover the power that made a man into a god. Corona has been unsatisfied with the leadership of the Nine Houses, has a detailed plan for how to improve their policies, and has been grooming herself for a position for which she now feels unfit. She asks Judith to metaphorically bind her down, or who knows what throne she will mount.
I think the plan that was derailed initially had the end goal of a change in leadership for the Nine Houses, and I think Corona was, if necessary, meant to become the new face of God. She may not have been born a necromancer, but I'd wager neither was John.
So I think when Ianthe went to ask a man about a queen, she probably asked Sarpedon to help her find Corona and Judith. Though there are enough unknowns about the Tridentarii's plan and Sarpedon in general that I doubt that's the full scope of it. It does seem to me like the loyalty of the Admiral commanding the Seat of the Emperor may well be important in any coming power struggle.

leading on from this post, i really want to think more about ty in a hogwarts AU?
based on the canon-compliant disregard for the laws of nature and of society, i think ty would practice the dark arts.
not in a death eater way, but more so in the way to be prepared for anything and to seek out more knowledge than his peers
i have a couple reasons for believing that ty would be into the dark arts. for one, he is what i view as a morally grey character. yes, he is on the side of good- but his methods are not always the methods of good. which brings me to my other reason- ty as a canonical necromancer. yes his aim was not malicious, but he still turned to necromancy- even if it failed.
with that being said, i do not doubt he would use unforgivable curses if he felt they were necessary to protect his loved ones
dark artefacts interest him, even just from a research perspective- no matter how much the hand of glory on his bedside table freaks out some of his dorm mates in hogwarts
ty being hogwarts biggest expert on dark creatures and their weaknesses
back to the necromancy, i believe kit would have his work cut out for him trying to stop ty in a hogwarts universe- seeing as the general way of necromancy is the creation of inferi.
inferi would not be ty’s aim for bringing back livvy, but i believe he would research it. the wards on the restricted section don’t have shit on ty.
after learning that inferi have no soul, and simply do their master’s bidding, i think ty would begin to research the mysteries of the resurrection stone.
ty would leave out the part of the story where cadamus peverell, the stone’s original owner, ended his own life due to the limitations of the stone’s power when telling kit.
post-war, slytherin prejudices did not end. in fact, some may say they worsened. ty was the only slytherin in his family, and the first in his direct lineage. everyone else was gryffindor with the exception of mark, a hufflepuff.
the slytherin dorms were searched often, and ty really had to put his skills to the test to hide this little interest of his.
he found hiding spaces around the school (and his own home) for all the books that he really should not have.
he hid a copy of curses and counter-curses in the bottom of his trunk, which he charmed locked, as it was the least dangerous book he owned- and he wanted to throw off scents should someone come looking.
magick moste evile and secrets of the darkest art were ty’s prized possessions- he would let the dementors kiss him before giving them over to the ministry. he constantly transfigured them into objects that he could keep close to him without rousing suspicion on why he wouldn’t let others borrow them.
ty frequently misplaced his copy of the nightshade guide to necromancy, only for kit to act highly suspicious when asked where it was. if ty didn’t know better, he’d think kit was hiding it away from him.
in typical slytherin fashion, ty was cunning. and he knew how to use this to his advantage.
building relationships with other students was easy when ty could teach them jinx’s and hexes, and they could give him information on the forbidden arts passed down through generations. after all, he couldn’t merely rely on borgin and burkes for the books he needed.
of course, kit was his best friend. they met when they were sorted into slytherin, and had beds beside each other in their dorm.
they spent every waking moment together.
usually, anyway.
the deeper ty got involved with his desperation to bring livvy back from the dead, the more wary and uneasy kit seemed to become.
ty couldn’t understand it- kit wasn’t off put by the dark arts, so what was his problem? he used dark hexes on other students who bothered slytherins, why stop there when you could seek power?
power. that was a new thought for ty. he thought he just wanted his sister back, but… power? power would be nice. to be respected, to be feared. respect earned through fear?
he told kit this. kit did not take it well. ty thought kit would love the idea of them being equal rulers, but kit had turned ghostly pale- and dropped his mug, shaking.
they didn’t speak for a few days, ty wasn’t sure why. surely it was nothing to do with that? they were fifth year and had exams coming up, surely that was why?
ty held this belief until he came into his dorm one night when kit was at quidditch practice to find pages of research in kit’s familiar scrawl on his pillow- the writing getting shakier as it progressed.
ty scoured through the pages, before dropping them on the floor, horrified.
kit had written him the comprehensive stages of dark arts-driven madness. and ty was fairly hurtling through the stages.
he had a choice to make, now.
his sister, or his sanity.

Uuuuh oooohhh that au game sounds interesting! Let's see Depravity and purple!
depravity is a very good word but it also means that ur getting an edgy au congratulations (do i make other kinds????)
alright, in this au, afo is a demon lord who can steal the magic of not only fellow demons but also humans, which is how he ends up becoming the demon lord
he is infamous for having loyal necromancers who resurrect all his enemies in the most horrendous forms and, worst of all, make them completely loyal to him. thoughtless on their own
izuku, of course, is the demon prince
what u thought this wasnt a dfo au? jokes on u thats the only thing im good at
inko is a human, so izuku is half demon half human and a lot of demons dont like him too much for it. hes running away one day (from demons who dont know his identity only that hes got human blood) and ends up meeting one of the humans' knights
its all might, of course. he has no idea that izuku is the demon lord's son, only that hes human (he is not visibly a demon, but he can transform. like pull out out horns, a tail, some scales, glowing eyes and whatnot) and deserves some love. izuku is not injured, just exhausted. he has the same powers as his father but to a lesser degree. all might also doesnt know that, and izuku has no problem keeping it to himself
hes not a bad kid, but the teachings of the demon kingdom have been soaking into him since he was young
so hes essentially raised-ish (hes nearly an adult, but looks younger than he is) by all might while shimura tenko, 100% human, is being raised by the demon lord in secret
while izuku was being raised by afo, he wasnt sheltered at all, he knew what his father did and how he did it. but it was exposure to humans that taught him how wrong it was
izuku doesnt have the visceral horror towards his fathers deeds that people around him have, but he does care about how they feel, so he doesnt like seeing them upset, so by association he becomes disgusted by his father
people tend to like izuku bc hes charming and very sensitive to how ppl feel, but occasionally hes so ruthless it seems out of character. it isnt out if character at all, izuku tends to draw very strong lines between People He Likes and Everybody Else
he would never hurt the people he likes, but he doesnt have the same compunction for the rest of the world. hes p overprotective over the people he likes, almost going overboard, but he tends to try to avoid doing things they dislike
its kind of important to keep in mind that izukus morals are found mostly in his relationships to the ppl around him. he dislikes the things that make the ppl he liked upset, but if that wasnt a person he liked, he probably wouldnt care.
this is key because when nobodys around and there wont be any witnesses, izuku has very few morals at all. he wont do things that make the ppl around him upset, but what they dont know wont hurt them
he wants his friends, the human knights, to win against his father, so he does not hesitate to wipe out whole groups of demons to accomplish this goal.
remember, he has his fathers power
the humans are surprised by how much easier the war seems to be all of a sudden. as izuku kills his way through, he gets stronger by stealing the magic of the demons he kills.
eventually they get to the demon lords castle
all might and the demon lord fights. the demon lord almost wins when he sees his son. hes actually a pretty loving father by demon standards which in human standards is like. a really terrible father
demons tend to have children then leave them to fend for themselves, but the demon lord raised his son for years and years. even without the human blood, most demons think that izuku is a spoiled rotten prince
you cant say that the demon lord really cared for izuku, but he ensured that he was fed, clothed, sheltered, and taught him how to fight. most people would see this teaching how to fight as abuse, and they would probably be right because it started very young, when izuku didnt even know what a fight was
anyway all might is on the ground and the demon lord is standing over him. he sees his son. understands where izuku has been all this time. hes glad izukus not dead but also realizes that izuku is no longer on his side
izuku kills the demon lord, but its pretty clear to anyone watching that the demon lord doesnt put up much of a fight.
you see. the demon lord position is passed on when the demon lord dies, to the next strongest demon. guess who that is
its izuku, of course. nobody on the human side knew until that point that he was a demon at all. he only transformed in front of other demons, who knew and assumed everyone else knew as well. he also pretty much left no witnesses who had seen the demon features
izuku midoriya becomes the demon king, and now has to convince the demon kingdom to no longer be at war with the human kingdom while also dealing with incredible distrust from the people he was very close to before
all might, especially, is suspicious

Here we go Necro — some Locked Tomb questions and theories
So. It’s been strongly implied enough that everyone is suspicious that John killed Earth and everyone on it. Everything in this post pre-supposes that to be true.
Given: Harrow’s parents killed 200 children and used the thanergy to augment her and make her The Greatest Necromancer of her Generation. Something of their souls remains in her (Revenant!Abigail mentions there are 200ish soul fragments attached to Harrow in the Bubbleverse and it was established that the ghosts therein could present outside knowledge).
Conclusion: John killed ten billion people, used the resultant thanergy (and thalergy?) to augment himself and become the Necrolord Prime. There’s also the matter of what the fuck he did with Alecto but I guess he must have done it before but how John had the necromancy powers to make himself the necrolord prime on a currently thanergy planet is a mystery I cannot hope to fathom on my own. I wonder if the souls he had “laid by” to send to the Ninth were souls that were inside him and he just spit them out.
Given: a necromancer’s eyes change color not when they consume a soul, but when they incorporate it into themselves. Alternately, a necromancer’s eyes change color when they have a second soul inside them sequestered, and the sequestered soul becomes dominant (Gideon or Pyrrha controlling the host body).
Given: John has Alecto’s eyes and Alecto has John’s eyes.
Conclusion: At least some part of Alecto’s soul is in John as well as John’s soul being in Alecto. Alecto was considered monstrous by the lyctors and cavs and I have a hard time comprehending what she did that made them so afraid. Given John’s comment on having eaten human flesh, I suspect it was some sort of cannibalism although I am unsure if Alecto was ever a human so does that make it cannibalism? I think she was eating people. I think she had part of John’s soul in her and she was eating people. Maybe perfect Lyctorhood requires the two participants to eat part of each other. Maybe John first acquired necromantic powers by doing some sort of cannibal soul swap with a non-human entity and then he killed everyone to be the necrolord prime.
Given: John achieves “perfect” lyctorhood with AL. AL is then some sort of horrible monster, enough to make a lyctor who just took on an RB turn on his heel and run.
Conclusion: “Perfect” lyctorhood turns the cav into something terrible. Perhaps this is why John wouldn’t let anyone else do it. I see a lot of people presupposing that perfect lyctorhood is what gives John his god-powers and he kept it hidden to keep power to himself (I do not think John is above this), but what if perfect lyctorhood and leveling up necromancy to max were two different events? So he first became a lyctor level necromancer by doing something with AL and then he killed ten billion people and used the thanergy to augment himself to become Jod. The process he undertook with AL may have turned him from a regular degular human into a necromancer. He hid the knowledge of “perfect” lyctorhood because watching your cav become an unkillable monster is worse than watching them die and eating their soul and also how many unkillable monsters does one universe need, hmmm? If one Alecto was one Alecto too many, then nine Alecto’s would be way worse.
Given: Necromancy was only possible after the Resurrection.
Given: BoE has no necromancers. Necromancer’s can be born to non-necromancers. BoE still has no necromancers.
Conclusion: BoE left Earth before the Resurrection. It would explain why they hate each other so much. John hates the people who took the life boat away from a dying Earth and BoE hates John for killing everyone. Explains why there are humans on other planets already that aren’t part of the Empire and they also have (hilariously broken) knowledge of Earth Culture. Confused about how they travelled long distances without steles but John did make that comment about people having had knowledge of FTL travel “the first time round” and problems with time (I refuse to explain general and special relativity rn longpost is already too long) but perhaps BoE at one point had FTL tech and then time gets real weird man like anything’s possible.
Given: Gideon Sr. sequesters Pyrrha’s soul while retaining full Lyctoral powers. This is v different from Harrow’s Diet Lyctorhood.
Conclusion: It is possible to be a full Lyctor without consuming your cav but I mean it still sounds like a weird time.
