A hero is only as good as his weapons, so make ‘em count (Patreon)
#Doodles#Original#Another idea smol and I are working on together :D Been a bit!#She came up with the concept on this one and I fell in love with it <3 She's very cool hehe#If you're familiar with the game Minit it has Something of a similar premise - not the same strict time pressure but yes on the time loop#Y'ever notice how in some games it seems like the wandering trader or traveling shop seems to come upon you rather than the other way around#:3c Hm ♪ Wonder how they'd know where you were gonna be :3c#The crux is that you play as the weapons shop owner and you're responsible for supplying the hero and his team with weapons!#Except the BBEG has gotten wise to how the hero keeps defeating him and it sick of it - so the shop owner is cursed to be in a time loop!#I love the concept <3 It sounds so fun to play in and there's still plenty of room to think about the mechanics and how it would be played#As well as the art design! :D#We threw around some character concepts - she's really into Baldur's Gate 3 at the moment so of course they had some influence in hers hehe#Only got the starting party for the moment but there are plans for a full team of 4 plus the shopkeep >:3c And various other NPCs lol#A lot of the gameplay would basically boil down to being a bartering simulator hehe ♪#Very RPG trade-this-for-that style quests - under a time limit! Hehe#Since it's the type of game that pretty much requires replaying sections time-loop-style it's all about how quickly you can trial and error#And then hightail it to where you need to be lol#I think we were also tossing around a nap mechanic to skip right to the time loop reset in case you mess up a run haha#I gotta get back to Majora's Mask at some point I swear#We still have a good bit of concept work to do on the art side of things - she's also been really into pixel art lately and I love pixel art#I also managed to pick up a full release of one of the RPGMakers :D So that's an exciting possibility!#I haven't learned most of its ins and outs yet but I do know About importing custom assets at the very least >:3c#Same with Novelty and I haven't done that yet either lol - all in due time! I hope!!

Self Aware HSR But...
But only the characters you own are self aware AND you're a no wishing account. I tried a no wish account, lasted a week ended up getting two ILs in one ten pull.
Bonus: based on the number of eidolons you have of the character the more aware of you, and more knowledge they have.
Like
E0 Know of your existence, probably would assume you're just some aeon.
E1 Feeling the warm presence always guiding them, they're stronger even when you're not by their side.
E3 Hearing you while playing the game.
E4 Seeing you while playing the game.
E6 Knowing that this is a game.
And then if they're someone more intelligent, like Herta, then maybe they can skip an eidolon and also find little ways to work around them. At E5 she's already found a way to hack into your electronics to observe this absurd being (you) some more. Then at E6 she's already planning on a way to make you come to their world, she has so many questions after all!
Of course there's Trailblazer, the first character you get whose eidolons you get without even spending money, and as their journey continues in Belobog and they find themselves becoming stronger all of a sudden they're aware of this strange Aeon? Except you're helping them. Then they start to hear you, then see you, and then everything becomes clear. And terribly more confusing. ...Nothing was real? The confusing part is the moment they accept the power of the preservation it's all gone. Like it was a hallucination. But they remember everything and it ends up coming back slowly step by step, your voice, the sight of you, that's what they really wanted. None of the knowledge left them, and game or not they want you by their side. And all of the Astral Express is left confused by their strange fanaticism about some being called Y/N.
Then there's Dan Heng and March 7th who you also got for free. Who feel your warm presence and strength whenever they're on your team but the moment you leave it's all gone. Dan Heng is skeptical, it must be an Aeon but why would an Aeon be gazing at them so often? March 7th is excited, for an Aeon to look at them that must mean something, right? Maybe they're heroes on an amazing quest! Or the Aeon is trying to help her get her memories back. They all feel a strange sense of familiarity when after the trip to the Xianzhou the trailblazer tells them about a person called Y/N. But they're left even more speechless when they're told this is all just a game. That can't be true, right?
Herta can also be obtained at E6 for free and with every eidolon unlocked she just gets more curious. She knows this person can control and buff them, so what else can they do? And what exactly are they? Similar to an Aeon in terms of overall power but in individual power clearly weaker but able to actually control the movements of others? Simply fascinating. It's even more interesting that they're doing all of this for the good will of others. Of course, you should come here. Even if you end up being a weak human she's sure there's loads of information in your brain, and you may end up holding the purpose to the universe in it. Not to mention the Aeons, of course, they'd be curious of this unknown creature. She hates to admit, she's grown quite fond of you as well.
The rest of the characters can only be obtained at E0 and are randomly dispersed out.
Natasha jumps to defend herself when she suddenly feels eyes watching her when no one is around. Then occasionally when the eyes gaze upon her she finds herself stronger than before. She knows there's something at work here, helping her out, and she can't help but feel thankful she's just hoping this help doesn't come at a price.
Asta feels as if she must've gazed upon something she shouldn't have when she was looking at the stars through her telescope. That pair of eyes makes her both paranoid and curious. It didn't have the strength or choking feeling that the Aeons would give off with their sheer power. But when you look at her instead she feels empowered, as if she can research faster (because she buffs speed). Her conclusions come to her quicker, and she doesn't feel herself getting stuck on the same things. Now, the eyes fluster her, and she feels the strange need to prove herself. To tell the eyes that it was a good decision to trust and help her. She does find it a bit strange at how Herta is suddenly spending all of this money in technological research but decides not to question it.
Qingque doesn't really notice the eyes on her at first. Just all of a sudden she feels more confident in her game of Celestial Jade and-- HAH! That's some insane luck! Another win for her! Then she ends up finding the phenomena happening again, every once in a while a sudden burst of confidence fills her up and she's able to escape the Master Diviner's watchful eyes more easily and win in her games! Her only possible conclusion is she has a natural luck indicator! But when she overhears three of the members of the Astral Express talk about a possible new Aeon she questions if they've perhaps taken an interest in her as well. Maybe it's an Aeon that loves Celestial Jade!
Yukong is wary of the eyes even though warmth comes with them. She's wary because she knows how much power they hold, how they could lead to her death in a moment. But they don't. Instead they help her strategize, every once in a while a pen, when the eyes are watching her, will fall astray onto her desk-- an event that would never happen normally. She tries to keep it organized and tidy. But it strangely opens up a new position, a new idea, a new way to fight back the mara stricken soldiers. The eyes are weak for now they can't do much. But even if they could Yukong decides she'll trust them.
Serval felt a sudden burst of inspiration, a way to make her new invention more efficient, when she first felt the eyes. For some reason she didn't feel any malice in them instead curiosity, and a strange form of love. She was used to dealing with strange fans so she decided to treat this like another form of that, although she does prefer you to the ones that watch outside her window. Whenever she's in your party she feels more unstoppable as if she could continue inventing no matter what. If you ended up getting her E1 in the Aetherium Wars event then that feeling follows her everywhere, she's a bit sad about since she can no longer tell as easily when you're watching her. But she feels honored that, what seems to be an Aeon, is blessing her.
Lynx felt warmth even as snow surrounded her tent. It didn't make sense why she suddenly felt a pair of eyes looking at her but they weren't looking at her as if she were prey, and she had bigger things to worry about, like finding her way home in the morning it was always more difficult after snowfall. She ended up mentioning the eyes to Serval and the two came to the conclusion together that you must be some kind of Aeon, maybe a weakened one? Lynx dedicated a bit of extra time in her explorations to trying to find some information about it, but even in all the abandoned buildings there wasn't much. At least you were still on her side, helping her move quick and heal up from minor scrapes faster than she normally would. Sometimes she felt a bit lonely when your eyes drifted off her.
Sushang felt honored. She was sure this must be an Aeon's gaze for an Aeon to gaze upon her that must be a sign that she's strong and should go out and fight! Not to mention when the Aeon was looking at her she felt stronger and her strikes were more precise! It's a large confidence boost, and she doesn't think too deeply into it to realize you're not an Aeon. She feels greatly honored by your help, when you have time to spare though :).
Then for the Aetherium Wars Event you could get Serval, Pela, Luka, or Hook so Pela, Luka, and Hook will also each get a section.
Pela felt skeptical. She wasn't used to just accepting that good things happen, not after all the war she's had to toughen herself up for. But it's interesting. Her mind is swifter while you're looking at her and she feels herself able to plan out battles more easily. She ends up confiding in Lynx and is shocked to find not only has Lynx experienced the same feeling, but Serval. An Aeon, their gaze was said to be suffocating. But yours felt the opposite, warm. Pela takes a few extra hours after work each day to do some research and try to figure out who you are but time after time nothing turns up, that is until the Astral Express comes back.
Luka feels his blood roaring in his body when you look at him. He's ready to fight anything and anyone, and in the ring he decimates. He normally destroys whoever he's against but this time he couldn't keep his strength in check and... that's a broken arm on the other guy one punch in. And that wasn't even with his robot arm! Every once in a while he'll feel a gaze sweep over him, filling him with the exhilaration and adrenaline needed for a fight. It's a bit annoying because sometimes he'll be about to go to sleep and it happens. But he understands, you're an Aeon with no concerns for anything like that, instead you're just looking to see a good fight! And apparently have deemed him as a good source for that. He feels honored as well, and a bit flustered. If only you were someone he could meet in person, then you'd be even more impressed when you can see his ring fights up close! He can give you an autograph too, if you really want one.
Of course Pitch Dark Hook the Great caught the attention of an Aeon! For all she boasts she's a little scared, she's heard stories of Aeons of the great feats they accomplish (she'll one day accomplish those feats too she's just biding her time!) and it's a teensy bit intimidating. But you must see great potential in her! After all Pitch Dark Hook the Great will be the greatest of all time! This is just further confirmation of that. Over time she begins to become more comfortable with your presence taking the opportunity to show off and challenge the other members of The Moles to a game of hide and seek when your gaze is on her, proving how she is the greatest of them all!
So for reader's eyes to be on them they have to be in party. And they don't really know when they're in party, they're still doing basic daily stuff rather than fighting as we have them running relic domains. Otherwise they'd probably be like why does this asshole want me to fight an ape 7 times in a row?! (me farming for Lynx and Fu Xuan)

“... keeps going like this, he’s going to end up dropping the house into another dimension again.”  Danny sighed heavily.
“Well, that’s not really fair,” said Sam.
“Huh?  What do you mean?” asked Danny, blinking blankly at her.  “That’s definitely a thing he did.”
“Yeah, but that wasn’t totally him.”
“He was pretty tangential, actually,” said Tucker.  “Unless there’s something you aren’t telling us?”
“I… haven’t I told you about the time he sent the house into a parallel dimension?”
“You didn’t exactly need to.  We were all there.”
“No,” said Danny.  “What are you guys talking about?”
“Yes, we were.  The whole town was there,” said Tucker.
“You know,” prompted Sam.  “Vlad pawning the Ring of Rage off on Valerie, you pulling Fright Knight’s sword out of the ground, Pariah Dark.”
“Yeah, you’re more related to us winding up in the Ghost Zone than your dad is.”
“Ooohhhh, I get what’s going on.  You’re thinking of a completely different time.  The time I’m talking about is way back in sixth grade.”
Sam’s gamer cave (she did not call it that, but that’s what it was) went quiet enough that the faint hum of the computer screens could be heard.
“Your dad sent you guys to another dimension when you were in sixth grade,” said Sam, spinning her chair around and pointing a painted fingernail at Danny.
“Yeah,” said Danny.
“Three years before your whole…”  She waved her hand at him.  “Thing.”
“Before you got zapped, she means,” said Tucker.
“Yeah.  So?”
“So,” said Sam, “why is that, even though you knew alternate dimensions were a thing and your dad could get you there, you didn’t believe in ghosts and were okay with walking into the portal?”
“Okay, but, look,” said Danny.  He put his controller to one side.  “That’s– That’s a false equivalency.”
“Spending time with Jazz, I see,” said Tucker.  He was now the only one still playing the game.
“Shut up,” said Danny.  “I know stuff without Jazz telling me about it.  But just because one unbelievable thing is true, that doesn’t mean that all unbelievable things are true.  Besides, the dimension we wound up in was way different from the Ghost Zone.  Had nothing to do with ghosts at all.  Definitely not something you look at and then go, ah, yes, ghosts exist.”
“But you knew that other dimensions existed.  Even if there weren’t ghosts on the other side of the portal, you still could’ve realized that it could take you to another dimension.”
“But it didn’t do that.  It just half killed me.”
“By opening a portal to another dimension in you.”
“And?”
Sam glared at him.  “You’re just playing dumb at this point.”
“Neither of you are playing anything, and I think at this point we can just say that Danny’s dumb.”  Tucker’s computer let out a little jingle as his character completed a quest.
“Hey!  Most of their stuff doesn’t work,” said Danny, exasperated.
“But you were messing around with something that they had made work before.  Didn’t you think that could be dangerous?  Or have consequences?  Drop you in yet a different dimension?  Something?”
“They said it didn’t work.  I believed them.  And you guys kept hassling me about it.”
“Someone skipped out on the ‘don’t give in to peer pressure’ PSAs,” said Tucker, singsong.
“You are not innocent here, Tucker!  We’ve all done dumb stuff.  Can we drop it?  I thought we were playing games today, not playing ‘gang up on Danny for stuff we all did.’”
“Fine,” said Sam.  She picked her controller back up.  Danny picked his up a second later.
They continued playing the game.
Then Sam dropped her controller again, this time in her lap.  “Okay, actually, this is going to bother the heck out of me if I don’t know.  How did your Dad drop the house in an alternate dimension?”
“And what was it like?” added Tucker.  He, of course, kept his eyes on the game.
“What was it like…” said Danny, contemplative.  He made his character run around in circles.  “How to explain?”
“Start with how you got there,” said Sam.  “Go from there.”
“Okay.  Well.  It started off– It was pretty normal.  You know.”
“Uh, no,” said Tucker.  “Sending your house to another dimension is not normal.”
“Normal for them.  For my parents.”
“Define normal here.  Like, describe it,” said Tucker.
“Working on the portal.”
Sam let out a slow, exasperated sigh.  “Really, Danny?”
“Well, it was that or weapons.  Do you think their weapons teleported us to another dimension?”
“They could’ve.  The bazooka does,” said Tucker.
“Fair,” said Danny.  “But, like, they were working on the portal, but then they were going over some of the math - it was wrong, obviously - and they saw that there was, like, there was a, um.  There was an ‘interesting result.’  Supposedly, distance fell out of the equation if you had the right inputs.  Something like that.”
“Which means… what?” asked Sam.
“They thought they could make a teleporter.”
“What!”  Tucker finally whirled away from his monitor.  “They have a teleporter?  They made a teleporter?”
“No.  That’s the whole point.  No teleporter.  They messed it up.  But, like, they built what they thought was a teleporter.  And, of course, as soon as they built it, they had to use it.  Mom wanted to do small tests, sending an apple back and forth or something, but Dad decided to jump right into teleporting the entire house, because it was vacation time.”
“Yeah, okay, that sounds like your dad,” said Tucker.
“Doesn’t it?  Which is why I’m worried now, because it’s the same thing all over again, he keeps getting too excited and then doesn’t slow down to make sure things work the way they’re supposed to.”
“You have no right to criticize that, Mr. Walks Into a Portal and Dies,” said Sam.
“I think I’m the only one who does have the right to criticize it.”
“And the dimension?” asked Tucker.  “I want to know about the alternate dimension.”
“Right,” said Danny.  “Well, when Dad ‘teleported’ us, we knew things were wrong pretty much right away.  You guys have read a Wrinkle in Time, right?”
“Sure,” said Sam.
“Yeah,” said Tucker.  “It was assigned last year, wasn’t it?”
“Right, so, you know the planet with the brain?  It was– It was kind of like that.”  His character died and he sighed.  “I suck at multitasking.  It wasn’t even just the stuff, it was, like, the air was flat.  The texture of everything was wrong.  Everything was… fake?  Like a performance, except it was the whole world.  Everyone just had these smiles on their faces but they were… empty.”
Sam propped her head up on her fist.  “Your parents sent you to play outside and didn’t notice any of that, didn’t they?”
“They did.  But they did notice stuff.  Like, all the houses being the same, the creepy sky–”
“The sky was creepy?”
“Super creepy.  It was like.  Segmented.  Triangles.  Like we were inside a pyramid.  And all the roofs were also pyramids, now that I think about it.  Just, pyramids everywhere.  Really pointy ones.  Oh!  And gravity was also a pyramid.”
“What?” asked Sam.
“Gravity was a pyramid.”
“What does that even mean?”
“It was a pyramid.  Gravity.”
“Okay, okay, I think I’ve got this,” said Tucker.  “What shape is gravity here?”
“It’s round,” said Danny, “duh.”
“It’s round, so there you go, Sam,” said Tucker.
“It is round,” said Danny.  “Like, gravitational fields, they’re round.  But they were pyramids there.”
“Wow,” said Sam.  “I wouldn’t have expected that.  Pyramids.”
“See?  Ghost Zone is totally different.”
“Yep,” said Tucker.  His computer let out another chime.  “By the way, you guys owe me soda now.”“How did you do that?” complained Danny.  “You weren’t even looking at the screen!”

so guys 🙋🏻‍♀️🌸 i have finished the entire new quest at last and omg 👼🏼 like this was outstanding!! you see, what i really enjoy about star rail is that it gives me similar vibes to hi3 in terms of the darkness in the plot, since hi3 is my favorite hoyo game i always love seeing stuff from it or just similar instances. SO YOU KNOW FOR A FACT I WAS SO HYPED WHEN ACHERON SHOWED UP 🤺 especially with the hi3 story with kiana as the mc being over and although i still love hi3 the most, kiana, mei and bronya, that trio, they were all the best characters together AAAARGHHH I SWEAR AND JUST THE ENTIRE STORY LINE WAS SOOO GOOD, I miss them all together as a trio and especially kiana, the best hoyo MC FOR LIFE. 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷
Tumblr media
also 🤠 ^^ that frame with sunday and dr ratio like 😙😙 WAS SO FUNNY I HAD TO SS IT. 🤺
the amount of cutscenes we got to see again was so fun, it felt like watching a movie slowly unfold while you got to be a part of it 🩷 you can tell that hoyoverse gets better and better with each update on whatever game and that the cutscenes are always so well done (i always liked them but the constant upgrades ??? insane) 🙏🏻
+ the acheron one shotting aventurine lmao 🧎🏻‍♀️ it was my favorite though ngl HAHA 🙋🏻‍♀️🩷 no matter how much i like aventurine as a character, MEI OMG MEEEIIIIII 👹🩷 SHE WILL FOREVER BE MY LOVE LIKE I KNOW ITS ACHERON BUT YOU GET WHAT I MEAN !!!!! 🙇🏻‍♀️ LIKE THE CUTSCENE WITH HER HORNS OH MY GOOOD THE NOSTALGIA LIKE YES GO OFF SHOW THEM
Tumblr media
also guys, idk but aventurine's boss fight, 🤠 i personally expected more like it was so easy to beat ?! I THOUGHT I WOULD STRUGGLE BUT HE DIED PRETTY QUICKLY BUT ITS FINE, I STILL LIKE HIS CHARACTER 🌸🙋🏻‍♀️. + i was happy hoyoverse showed us his backstory and took their time to flash it out and not gloss over it in idk one/two scenes, but they really took their time with it which was amazing 🩷
Tumblr media Tumblr media
also jade looks so cool as well! the design is very pretty and i can't wait to see diamond too, or the rest of the ten stonehearts but they're hyping diamond up so much like another emanator?? yes please, i'm all in🧎🏻‍♀️🩷
this entire quest gave me movie vibes, you were on edge the entire time and even during side quests you had to take, it was still very intense. it actually took me quite a bit to finish it of course since i'm someone who doesn't skip dialog, but it was so worth it and the best way to relax after a long day of moving my body 🩷 just laying in bed, playing while drinking tea!!
what i wanted to say too, guys honestly sunday is not okay HAHAHAHAHAHAH 🌝 I MEAN LIKE you guys🧎🏻‍♀️, that shiver in his voice at times and you can tell he low-key doesn't even know how to handle all of that either, of course, for one he looks like everything is accounted for while in the other, he sounds like he's losing his mind and can we blame him ???? when he went "why did you kill her" and lowkey cussed gallagher out i was like damn 🤠 okay 😏 HAHA + i'm somebody that doesn't think too much about theories, instead i love eagerly waiting for the next patch!! so i'm excited for what's coming 🩷 + robin's song slaps.
Tumblr media
last but not least 🤺 you see, gallagher wasn't really somebody i was very interested in, but damn the second he turned dangerous and spicy i went oh my oh hey what's up ?? 😏 giggles HAHA LIKE WHAT IS IT ABOUT MEN WHO ARE JUST SUDDENLY EVIL AND IDK MAYBE HE ISNT COMPLETELY RIGHT AAAAAA OOOOO UUUU WWWWW AAAAA but anyways, 🌸 the last cutscene low-key hurt me like what do you mean sunday gets off screened while i was saving up for him for what? 👹 ever since fuxuan like how can you do this to me + no way they're dead dead 🤠because the last conversation aventurine had with acheron was very important to the next patch i'm pretty sure! 🩷
Tumblr media
all in all guys!! 🩷 this quest was beautifully done, it had a lot of hard, dark stuff and it reminded me a lot of hi3, that's why i give it a 10/10, very well done. 🌸🩷

➥ SYNOPSIS: Your warm morning is interrupted by an unexpected but welcomed surprise.
➥ AU: Canon Genshin (Post-Sumeru Archon Quest)

➥ A MOTHER'S LOVE ( MASTERLIST)
Tumblr media
You could tell how big a toll the work of a Grand Sage had been affecting your boyfriend as, usually, it would've been him that'd be awake but instead you wake to see Alhaitham with his eyes shut as he breathed slowly.
You smile softly as you reach to brush Alhaitham's hair back slowly, and how you wish you didn't as his brows furrow slightly and his arm on your waist pulls you closer to himself.
"Good morning." You giggled, Alhaitham hums in response as he buried his face in your hair. "Mrn'n .." He mumbled into your hair.
You look outside the window and see that the sun was higher than it usually was when you woke up. You attempt to stand up but you forget your boyfriend's tight grip on your waist.
"Haitham, hon. It's past 8." You said, trying to shake Alhaitham awake.
"So?" He replied, pulling the blanket over your shoulders. "It's a weekend, dear. We'll be fine."
"What about Farah?"
"I'm sure Kaveh can handle her."
You shake your head with a laugh, "Archons, Haitham. We can't make our friend do everything y'know?"
"It's reasonable payment for his debt." Alhaitham added, smirking slightly as you laugh at his statement, burying your face in his chest.
"Mm.. I guess I can spend a few more minutes.." You mumble, already feeling the sleepiness return once you allowed yourself to melt into Alhaitham's arms.
"Good." Said Alhaitham, smugly. You both hold each other close as sleep began to overtake you, the warmth of Alhaitham and the blanket and the cool wind from your slightly open window was enough to make you fall asleep.
Unfortunately for you two, because of your drowsiness you failed to notice the door open slowly.
Alhaitham looked up from admiring you and raised a brow at the open door. "Hm? Kaveh?" He called out, rubbing his eye.
"Kaveh?" You mumble, drowsily.
"AAAAAHHHH!!"
Alhaitham and you yelp as the small figure jumped into your bed head first with a scream before she fell into a fit of giggles.
"Mowing! It's mowing!!" Farah beamed, cuddling into your chest.
Alhaitham and you sigh, it was just Farah, your little 5 year old girl. "Morning. It's morning, Farah." Said Alhaitham, turning on his side as he watched you and Farah cuddle.
"Hehe, no it's not!" Farah giggles, turning to face her dad. Alhaitham could feel his heart melt a bit as you pulled Farah closer and kissing her cheek.
"What do you mean it's not, baby?" Alhaitham asked.
"Cause that's how uncle Kaveh says it!" Said Farah, sitting up. "He goes, 'good mowingg!'" She then proceeds to exaggerate Kaveh's yawn, throwing her arms up in the air and falling back onto your chest, laughing.
"Of course, he'd say it wrong. He's an idiot."
"Haitham!" You yell, playfully slapping his bicep with a laugh. Alhaitham chuckles, propping himself up on his arm as he admired you.
The way the sun perfectly captured your features, your laugh like music to his ears always had his heart skipping a few beats.
Alhaitham was no believer of fate, choosing to believe in facts instead, but he would get down on his knees and thank whichever god or archon of Celestia had given him the chance to meet you and your daughter and giving him the small family he has now.
Alhaitham smiled softly once you'd calm from your laughing as you looked up at him with your (e/c) eyes. He slowly leaned in, about to give you a kiss when he was immediately smacked away.
"Farah!"
Alhaitham sat up in shock as he rubbed his nose, while Farah blew a raspberry at him. The two glared at one another before Farah smugly kissed your cheek and cuddled you.
"Oh?" Said Alhaitham. "That's how you want it too be, hm?"
Farah screeched as Alhaitham pulled her off of you. She was kicking her legs and squealing as he tickled her sides, blowing a raspberry into her neck that had Farah laughing and squirming.
"PAPA LET ME GOOO!!" She laughed, trying to tickle her papa back but Alhaitham held her arms down as he continued the tickling.
You laid back as you watched the two play fight. You can't help but thank the archons for blessing you with a man as loving accepting as Alhaitham for accepting you AND Farah when most men you've met have insisted for you to leave her behind
But not Alhaitham, he saw your fears and made a promise to love and protect you both. You smile fondly as Farah finally escaped Alhaitham's grasp and run out of the room, calling for Kaveh.
"Now, where was I-" You cut him off by sneaking your arm around his neck and kissing him. Alhaitham immediately reacts by wrapping his arms around your waist.
You pull away, muttering "Love you." Smiling up at him. Alhaitham smiles back, but just as he was about to lean down for one more kiss, another voice startles the two.
"Oh- OH! Not in front of your own child, you two!"

Being in Hellfire Club HCs
These are mostly for myself to have consistency in my fics.
-Eddie is the one to approach any potential new members. He's been recruiting for 2 years now, and he's very selective. But he can also sniff out a freak a mile away.
-Being part of Hellfire comes with a certain level of protection. Eddie is more than happy to be the big bad wolf to protect his sheep members. Most people leave Hellfire alone because they think Eddie will snap.
-There are the core members of the club (Eddie, Jeff, Gareth, Mike, Dustin, and un-named member who I am calling Zack), as well as subs. Subs are people who were curious and usually approached Eddie first. They have a passing interest, but not enough to risk being associated with the freaks.
-Everyone in Hellfire has cut class at least once to take a nap in Eddie's van.
-Everyone in the club knows that Eddie deals but unless they have intent to buy they keep their mouth shut.
-Eddie won't sell to freshmen. Period.
-The club doesn't do much outside of school. Of course, Corroded Coffin has band practice but that's about it.
-Once in a blue moon they will do "side quest day". The club will go to the arcade and play games and if they manage to impress Eddie, he might give them a buff or inspiration for the next session. This rarely happens though.
-Eddie runs a very tight ship with Hellfire. If you're committed to being part of the club outside of being a sub, you better take it seriously. You absolutely are required to wear the shirt during the school day. He's definitely given out punishments for not wearing the shirt
-He isn't unreasonable though. If you can give him a good reason why you can't do something he's willing to work with you. Eddie has the respect of his club for a reason.
-They absolutely are not allowed to be lighting candles in the prop department, but they do anyway.
-Eddie's chair is his and his alone. Don't try and sit in it. (*If no one else is around you might be able to get away with it. Just don't try it in front of the whole club.)
-Everyone got really into playing cards at lunch for about a month, betting snacks until a teacher shut that down. Sometimes they'll still try and play after school.
-Most of the club has been playing the same character for years from level one. Eddie prefers a clean slate character. Subs are able to create characters closer to where everyone is.
-if you're joining late in the game, you can create a leveled character, but you'll be a few levels behind everyone until you prove yourself.
-If you need to get up and move around a bit during the session, that's alright, but there is a clear line that you can't cross. Try and peak behind the screen and you're in trouble.
-You don't need to have the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons handbook memorized, but he expects at least basic knowledge if you're serious about the club. You absolutely need to understand your character race and class
-Eddie is not afraid of 'rule of cool' if you can sell your point hard enough. He isn't a full rules lawyer, but he isn't here to make this easy. Fun? Yes. Challenging? Frustratingly so.
-There has been a blow out fights over rules before. Tensions were running high with midterms and everyone having a shitty day. Someone's character died, Hellfire was cut short that night as everyone went and cooled off. That was the one time that Eddie scrapped a session and agreed to a do-over.
-Eddie is easier to talk to one-on-one outside of club. He's genuine with his love for Hellfire, but he's more likely to let his walls down when it's just him and someone else.
-He used to skip class a lot, but has been genuinely trying to graduate now. Now he only skips maybe once or twice a month.
-Gareth isn't allowed to have his drumsticks at the table anymore.

BUGSNAX - A REVIEW
Tumblr media
A few days ago, I fully finished and 100% completed this game, and I'm very happy to have finally done so! Here are my thoughts, under the cut! (Skip to the end if you just want a quick overview of each point)
-
As evidenced by the fact I completed the game, I enjoyed Bugsnax a lot! Which I'm happy to be able to say upon playing it myself after having watched other people (Namely Snapcube, all the way back in 2021) play it in the past. It's a nice change of pace from the other kinds of games I've played in recent times, and a type of game I can't say off the top of my head that I've really experienced before. I've played my share of creature collectors but those were mostly RPGs, like the Pokémon games, whereas Bugsnax takes the concept into a full 3D space where you don't exactly battle the Bugsnax but, rather, you trap them!
Forgive the comparison I'm about to make but it's almost like you're pranking the wildlife of this island, tricking them in various ways to get them into your backpack. It starts off as simple as just waiting for Bugsnax to wander into your trap, and for a handful of species it stays that way, but with the wide variety of them available to you and which you're expected to catch, it becomes more complicated very quickly! The game can become slightly repetitive at points, especially having to refight bosses for 100% completion, but they vary things up enough with tools and specific catching conditions that it never became boring for me. I'd say that Bugsnax is almost a puzzle game in that way, trying to figure out what combination of things catches what Bugsnax. Although some of said 'capturing puzzles' are easy to cheese, or come up with multiple solutions for.
Despite that, though, Bugsnax can be a challenge for the brain! Like any good puzzle, the solution can be difficult to piece together right away at times, making for engaging gameplay that keeps you thinking. That's a great thing, as it's really the only challenge there is in the game. Bugsnax does not have a fail state nor any lives to lose, no matter how much the aggressive Bugsnax try and no matter how many times you light yourself on fire in the middle of Snaxburg. Bugsnax simply isn't a very difficult meal to swallow! Which isn't a bad thing.
As a side note on the gameplay too, the game does keep you busy with a multitude of main quests, side quests, and letter quests, giving you many reasons to want to catch all of these Bugsnax!
Speaking of the titular Bugsnax, though, they're a very interesting bunch! With 112 of them to find (after the release of the free DLC), the variety of designs on display is wonderfully creative and charming. Yes, some of the designs are reused and retextured, but that's perfectly acceptable and to be expected when you're capable of transforming almost every NPC using said Bugsnax!
They're certainly interesting to observe and speculate on how they came to be! They're not anything that could exist in our world, but that's kind of the point! They do, however, interact with each other in some ways you might expect from wild beasts, fighting with each other and accidentally running into each other on occasion. Bunger, Spuddy (Beetle-like Bugsnax), Preying Picantis (A mantis-like Bugsnak), and Scoopy Banoopy (A giant water bug-like Bugsnak) being as aggressive as they are, while played up for gameplay purposes, does mirror how strong and combative these insects are in the real world! Although, you never see these Bugsnax eat each other, nor at all apart from when you specifically toss sauce at them, making it unclear how they survive apart from eating said sauce, even though the ending goes some way into explaining that, to an extent. Even still, not much that truly needs to be explained goes unexplained when it comes to them
Of course, the creativity and good design of the Bugsnax would mean nothing without an equally charming world and set of colorful characters to go along with them! The game does not disappoint there either, making for quite the feast for the eyes. The biomes are lovely, and environmentally tell you quite a bit about the history of the island, from the crashed ship on the beach of Boiling Bay to the cave scrawlings of Garden Grove and the clear existence of a long gone civilization in Scorched Gorge and the isle of Broken Tooth! Meanwhile, the NPCs, the Grumpuses, have wonderfully charming designs, resembling muppets to an extent, all distinct and fun designs but still simple enough to fit in with the impressive mechanic of 'Snakification' without being too disturbing... Most of the time
Heads up! The next section goes into SPOILER TERRITORY, if you want to save the story for when you play it yourself, skip to the next chunk of bold text
When it comes to the story that surrounds all of the Grumpuses, it continues to be quite the charming game, with its comedic flair, colorful personalities, and sweet personal moments. However, it's not a conflictless experience (Nor should it have been!), with many characters fighting and having problems that range from Wiggle being afraid of being a one-hit-wonder and struggling to create her next masterpiece, to Snorpy struggling to communicate his feelings to Chandlo while Chandlo worries about the unhealthy amount of stress that Snorpy is going through, to Beffica being unable to hold a friendship because of her own actions and being afraid that she won't be able to ever have anyone close to her. It doesn't pull its punches, especially once you get around to helping them with some of these issues in the sidequests!
The biggest issue that requires being solved however is the driving force of the game, getting everyone back to Snaxburg, and especially the adventurer who invited you to the island in the first place, Elizabert. The search for Elizabert takes essentially the whole game, searching for clues and interviewing Grumpuses, watching tapes that display the relationship of Elizabert and her girlfriend/wife (unclear whether or not they're married), doctor Eggabell.
This search concludes in quite possibly the most unsettling muppet body horror way it could have, with Bugsnax being revealed to be parasites, composing essentially the entire underground of the island, with Elizabert herself being turned into a giant but somehow still sentient and sapient beast made of multiple different legendary Bugsnax, among other species! and the final sequence of the game is spent essentially killing Bugsnax in a brutal saucy massacre across Snaxburg before making your escape.
Now, does this make Bugsnax one of those "Oops, it's a horror game actually!" games? Not in the slightest. This is not as overtly horrifying and gorey as something like Doki Doki Literature Club, although it is possible to lose Grumpuses to the influence of the island in the final sequence if you play your cards wrong, this is more like an Undertale situation in the sense that the game is mostly perfectly fine but has some disturbing undertones and moments! It is a super unexpected moment but I like it, and the ending provides a very satisfying resolution to everyone's problems while still leaving enough questions about the island for a Bugsnax 2
[END SPOILERS]
The game is also very well scored with a mostly electronic sound track that fits the charming and mostly relaxing atmosphere of the game! Seth Parker's smooth synths filling the space perfectly between Grumpus dialogue and Bugsnax yelling out their names Pokémon style, with an adorable credits theme done by Kero Kero Bonito, which fits in perfectly with the rest of the music.
Now, in terms of game stability, having played after patches, I'd say this game is stable enough for the average player, some things being a bit easy to break for people who are looking to do so, with very few glitches being detrimental to the experience. I did have some Bugsnax get stuck or disappear, but it wasn't enough to really effect things much given there are a couple ways to respawn them (sleeping, leaving the area and coming back).
One funny thing did happen to me though, and it was my fault entirely! I saw the broken bridge in Scorched Gorge and was like "Hmmm, I bet I could get across that when they don't want me too" and I did! Then the game autosaved and I had accidentally set several flags in the game skipping Snorpy and Chandlo's quests. I had to find the save file and manually edit it so that I could fix my hubris and unskip the quests! Which was thankfully not very hard to do, and I got to experience those quests without issue.
Now, finally, what would I add to a Bugsnax 2? Well the obvious answer for me would be some form of wasp Bugsnak, I just want more representation of my favorite guys!! But for a bigger suggestion, I'd say that there are tons of different real world bug features and behaviors that could make for interesting gameplay elements and designs! With mimicry, pollination structure building, symbiotic relationships, resource gathering, pheromone communication, multiple stages of life, etc etc. I'd just really like to see what the Bugsnax team can do with things like these! Even down to more species or family specific things!
-
All in all,
Gameplay: Fairly unique! Can be repetitive at times but stays varied and interesting enough to be engaging for most players.
Difficulty: Catching Bugsnax can be challenging but it's still fairly easy, with very little punishment for failure outside of the very end.
Graphics/Design: Extremely charming with varied Bugsnax and cute NPCs that fit with the biome they're in very well, providing a lovely atmosphere to the game, even if Snakification can make things clash at times.
Story/Lore: Very good, keeping you interested in the world and characters of the game, and at times delving into more serious, personal topics and problems, as well as setting up a world that shows plenty of its history, while leaving some questions to be answered
Soundtrack: Rather smooth, synths filling the space in nicely and not leaving much awkward silence, with a very good guest track
Stability: Rarely detrimental, not giving the player any major issues, while still being breakable if one were to try to do so
Completion Time: 29 hours
Overall: Recommended

Rickmas 2023: Day 9. Missing Star | Alexander/Reader
Tumblr media
Read now on Ao3 or below the cut:
The knocking on the door was incessant, and Alexander rolled his eyes when he heard a voice calling through the door.
“Sir Alexander! The panel started five minutes ago, they’re waiting for you —“
With a huff, he picked himself up from the couch and stomped over to the door, opening it so suddenly he caught the poor event steward on the other side by surprise.
“I’m not bloody coming, clearly,” he hissed.
“But, Mr Dane, the fans are expecting you —“
“I. Don’t. Care. Tell them I’m sick or dying, I don’t care, just piss off and leave me alone!”
He slammed the door closed on the shocked steward’s face, and you peered up at him over the back of the couch.
“That poor steward was only doing his job, Alex.”
Alexander waved his hand dismissively and pulled his robe tighter around his torso.
“If his job’s to disturb me when I’m with you, he needs a new career.”
He returned to the couch where you had previously been cuddling and watching TV, and you slipped easily back into his arms.
“You’ll have to show your face at some point. They didn’t pay for this hotel room so you could sit in it all day.”
“Trying to get rid of me?” Alexander snarked, and you shoved him playfully.
“You know I’m not. You can get away with skipping the group panel, but you’ll have to make it to your solo panel. Else they might send Jason to drag you out.”
Alexander scoffed. “I’d like to see him try. He acts like he’s so tough, but I can tell you, his fight scenes are almost entirely done by stunt doubles.”
“And yours aren’t?”
“Of course not,” Alexander said proudly. “I’m a real actor. I do all my own scenes.”
“Well, good thing you do all your own sex scenes too, else we’d never have met,” you said, grinning up at him cheekily.
He smirked and held you in tighter, remembering the day you’d met on set for a film of his, he the lead actor and you the intimacy coordinator for the sex scene he’d filmed. Somehow, with a stunning Hollywood actress nude on the bed with him, it had been plain old you the acting legend had had eyes for.
“Really, I just don’t want to put that bloody thing on my head today,” Alexander admitted. “Honestly, do they think people won’t recognise me without it? I do have other roles I’m known for without the stupid chicken head.”
You laughed, knowing full well that your boyfriend would set fire to that key part of his costume if he could, yet he’d chosen to participate in the Galaxy Quest reboot. Secretly, he liked the role and even the people he worked with, but he’d never admit it.
“Oh, but think of the applause you’ll get when you step out onto the stage! All those people there to see you. I know you love it, Alex.”
He scoffed, but he didn’t correct you. You leaned in closer to him, resting your head on his chest, and he placed a kiss to the top of your head (which had fortunately never been the victim of chicken head, although he had threatened you with it a few times).
“I’ll go to the solo panel, I suppose,” he sighed. “Only so I can talk about Death to Secrets coming out next month.”
You scoffed. “Yeah, good luck getting a bunch of sci-fi nerds to care about a depressing drama about a dying old man. Hey, kids, come see my exciting new film where I spend two hours staring out a window dramatically - ow!”
It hadn’t hurt, but you were more surprised than anything when he reached around and slapped your arse.
“Disrespect my art and you disrespect me, you know that, [Y/n].”
“Oh, sorry, sir,” you said teasingly. You sat up slightly and kissed him, which immediately softened the hard stare he was giving you.
“Hmm… good thing I love you, isn’t it?” he said.
Even after so long together, it still made your heart leap when you heard those words from him. He was such a grumpy old man, yet for you he was soft.
“Yes,” you agreed. “It is a very good thing.”

"Why yall like Hassian so much?"
The title is a half-quote of a question dropped on Palia Discord, and of course my hands started itching.
Not because the question ticked me off.
It's because that simple question alone set my brain on "I will be brief" mode. And the "will be brief" mode is always, without fail, this one:
Tumblr media
WIthout further ado, here's my widdle essay, copy-pasted from the notepad file as it was intended to be shared on that server at some point (so if there's any weird self-censoring like "strong dislike", you already know why).
This is gonna be very much spoiler-y in a lot of points, so if you haven't reached max friendship + romance and/or don't like spoilers in general, pls skip this ramble.
That being said…
Having reached max friendship and also romance with Hassian, I see his being overall "cold" (or "sour", as someone else in game would define it) as some kind of psychological defense/self-preservation mechanism.
When you reach enough friendship with him, he will openly confess/admit that it's not like he doesn't like humans, but he is wary of them. He admits to be like that towards anything new/unknown, and humans are, in fact new/unknown to him. He even has a random dialogue where he actually thank you for giving him a chance to know humans better through your (friendship) bonding.
According to other dialogues, Hassian is also seen playing cards with Auni at the inn, and quite often too, apparently. This is met with mixed reactions from a few of the other locals: Reth makes jokes about it, saying that he always thought that Hassian would come at the inn only to see how other people could disappoint him (or something on that line), Nai'o is straight up worried that Hassian could be a bad influence or something on his little brother, and Sifuu has a more indirect line about it, saying that Hassian has a liking/soft spot for animals and children (which gives her a glimmer of hope that her sone, one day, might settle down and start a family). This is a first clue that Hassian is actually a gentle soul.
In regard of Reth's aforementioned remark, I have this feeling that this might have something to do with the way Chapaa are generally viewed by the locals. Everyone sees them as cute & cuddly & fluffy animals (you even have Tish straight up cooing about them, in one of the Maji market-related dialogues), despite how Chapaa have come to be in the valley and the consequences. Hassian will tell you that the Chapaa are not a natice species, but have been introduced at some point by Kenli, with the intentions of breeding them as pets. But the Chapaa at some other point escaped into the wild, where their population started to grow uncontrollably; the fact that they lacked (and still lack, apparently) natural predators means that Chapaa are now an invasive species that need some sort of "pest control" system. But apparently Kenli has been refusing to take any action of sort in this sense because "but Chapaa cute :(" reasons, while every other villager seems to have a similar line of thought about those critters, leading Hassian to take matters into his hunter-hands. This would explain why Hassian seems to look at everyone in disappointment when he drops by the inn.
Another clue that Hassian is more than meets the eye lies in a random dialogue of Auni, when you reach enough friendship with either that child and/or Hassian; our mail boy will kind of break confidentiality with you and tell you that Hassian always gets romance novels delivered from the library all the times. He also says that they are "very mushy stuff", which confirms that Hassian may be actually quite a sensitive person. This trait of Hassian is also confirmed by other things/dialogues. For starters, he writes poetry (or at least he has tried to, at some point), and you can even see some of those writing by yourself in his grove, upon finding a book with torn pages (he didn't rip them btw, it was some Chapaa's fault). At the beginning of that side quest, Hassian will try to deny the book is his, despite... ye know... his name is right there. And at the end of the quest he will asks you not to mention that book to anyone, because he has "a reputation to uphold".
You can also get some more clues upon finding an abandoned letter in one of the camps in Bahari (somewhere in the northern half, more precisely). That letter will also reveal that Hassian and Tamala had a short-lived affair (that letter is also the ultimate reason why I "strongly dislike" Tamala's guts with a passion, for the records).
Tamala and Hassian's story could be also the reason why Hassian is now even more prone to not let his feelings on. According to what I could grasp about this ordeal, one day Tamala spotted Hassian "snooping around" her house (he was just minding his own business, hunting and also selling some stuff). It is unclear which one aprroached the other first, all we know is that Tamala bought a Sernuk rug from him, then asked him to enter her boudoir (aka: her bedroom), unofficially to ask for his opinion on where it could've been placed. Officially… completely unrelated things happened. Tamala never says what, exactly, but the way she tells that bit leaves very little to one's (naughty-naughty) imagination. And apparently, Hassian instantly fell head over heel for Tamala, but it looks like Tamala never made her intentions clear from the very beginning; the whole time, Hassian probably thought that her intentions were serious, while Tamala was in only for "some fun". It is also implied that Tamala herself may ahve pretty much treated him like her personal "toy boy", while Hassian kept on misinterpreting all that as her way of courting a suitor back, to the point that he presented her his own pin; if you romanced anyone in this game, you know what a big and important step this is considered. This is apparently when Tamala finally decided to dump Hassian; her random dialogues say that she broke with him when he tried to talk about a marriage, while Hassian's dialogue (at the end of his max romance quest) seems to add some more details to that, saying something like "I thought you would've come back to throw my pin in my face". Now: think about what a pin signifies, keep in mind what big deal these pins are, now imagine someone straight up throwing said pin back to the sender's face while telling them to pretty much F off and never come back. That ought to cause some damage on an emotional level. Even Sifuu herself, at some point, confesses with you that she was worried that you would "pull a Tamala" on Hassian (not to mention: Sifuu is still also all set on wanting to kick Tamala's rear, after all these years), but she is also glad that, with you, she had been wrong.
As cherry on top, Hassian might have unprocessed childhood trauma, which might lead him to constantly keep his feelings in check (and being awkward when trying to disclose them) as well. At some point we get to know that he had two moms: Sifuu and Taylin. Hassian was clearly more attached to Taylin than Sifuu, and even after all this time the loss of "momma" still stings real bad to him. When Sifuu made him proof-read her own autobiography, Hassian simply flipped because of what he sees as complete lies on how "mother" and "momma" first met, considering that altered story as an insult to Taylin's memory (whereas Sifuu was only trying to spice things up for artistic reasons). Some time after that thing with the book, when Sifuu asks for his help to clear Taylin's belongings, Hassian do agree that they both needed to finally move on and and also tried to help his mother, but soon he found out he couldn't bring himself to do it.
The loss of Taylin could mean that Hassian is now subconsciously "afraid" to love someone as much as he loved "momma", probably fearing to suffer that same pain all over again. And the ordeal with Tamala might have left him extra wary of disclosing his feelings as well, which would all bring us to his aloof and seemingly cold demeanour in game.

Plsplspls any laurance headcanons to feed the starving?
oh but of course my sweet.. eat up
laurance ideas to feed the starving <3
- when laurance was brought back from the nether by ungrth, at least in cannon, he was unconscious. however, I believe he was in a state of shock induced by pain/trauma and obviously the experience of transcending realm barriers. picture wide, fear stricken eyes, with deep purple and grey circles beneath them. the striking color of his bloodied body and bruises are only accentuated by his extreme lifeless pallor. he’s frail and not quite human. something is off.
- following his escape, he spent much time recovering with the help of zoey. due to this, he catches himself feeling shy or ashamed around her, mainly after his recovery. this is largely due to how she was the first to see him in his worst state, and in a way he feels she should not have had to “deal with” his issues at that given time.
- another piggyback—laurance never got time to mentally recover from his time in the nether. he spent months enduring both physical and psychological torture, he was out, and then zane came along and brought a war with him. then garroths interesting little side quest (betrayal) and the irene dimension ordeal. 15 year time skip. HE IS BEING WHIPPED AROUND IN THESE EVENTS LIKE A RAGDOLL (heheheh…the council might laugh at that) anyways, he had absolutely zero time to collect his bearings and quite honestly is very lost. deep down, he wonders if it all could have been avoided somehow.
- because of this, he doesn’t recognize himself. his flirty confidence is just a facade that he wears to remind himself of who he used to be. to be truthful, his breath catches when something brushes against a particularly bad scar, or even if he looks at a flame for too long.
- laurance pops his knuckles as a sort of nervous-tick.
- laurance can braid hair beautifully—yet another thing he credits to cadenza. whenever there is downtime, he might be seen braiding the hair of those he is close with. its a comforting task for him, and reminds him of home.
- when he and katelyn were imprisoned during the werewolf wedding arc, the two of them were obviously extremely restless and stiff with stress. as time dragged on, he eventually ended up braiding katelyn’s hair. at first she was annoyed, asking him “what the hell are you doing”, to which he did not respond. she was exhausted, and to be quite honest it calmed her nerves a bit, so she didn’t argue. she pretended not to notice how the task seemed to rid his hands of their trembling.
- his favorite animal is a hawk. he likes to believe its his father watching over him whenever he happens to see one.
- sometimes, if he has a particularly bad night, he can be found at the beach , on his knees at the edge of the water. the moonlight on the water is blue and tranquil, and it helps to calm him. amidst the shore he can pretend that his salty tears are merely sea spray.
- after about half of the s2 events, this man needs a massage. he is to tightly strung and he hardly realizes it. once he was looking particularly stiff while donna was around, and she practically forced him to lay down so she could “work out some of those knots” he protested, mainly scared of his more gnarly scars being exposed, but donna, being the mother she is, didn’t mention the scars and artfully dodged them. he will never admit how much he needed it.
- when the group was exploring ruins on the island, he was grateful to have something like the historical environment to distract him. that’s part of why he was so fascinated.

I want to study you.
Pairing: Scaramouche x Reader (platonic/romantic)
Warnings: Curse words
Summary: You study Scaramouche (he does not take it particularly well).
Notes: I wrote this bc of the new archon quest and scaramouche's drip marketing, but it contains NO SPOILERS for the actual 3.2 update. the only 'spoilers' are for the drip marketing but even then im not sure you can call it that considering its like. one picture thats probably everywhere already. but you have been warned regardless (also sry for bad pic and fic quality. ive gotten out of practice with writing and i didnt want to show the whole picture but it worsens the quality when i cut it) reblogs are greatly appreciated!!!
Tumblr media
"What are you doing here all by yourself?"
Scaramouche turned around to find someone standing behind him. He didn't know this person and they weren't wearing clothing that could point them to a specific nation or organization.
"What do you want?",
He answered with the most malice he could muster. The stranger smiled at him politely.
"I'm just looking out for a fellow traveller. This area is ridden with monsters. You should be careful."
He crossed his arms over his chest.
"Tch. I can handle myself."
Cocking their head, they let their eyes wander over his form. Scaramouche squirmed under their gaze. It felt odd, but nice. Like he was being studied very carefully. It was nothing like the way others had looked at him, apprehensive and cautious. It stirred something in him, like a memory he suppressed.
But when he stared back into their eyes and they met his gaze, suddenly the sensation of being studied became overwhelming, their eyes boring into his own, his skull, his brain, looking much further and deeper than his bones and flesh, opening him as easily as a book, reading his every thought and feeling, he didn't know how much longer he could stand it, roughly being picked up and placed under a microscope, having his very being so exposed- and then they redirected their gaze somewhere else, Scaramouche too busy with this feeling to care.
After a slight pause, which he used to recover, they turned back to him. The same polite smile as before graced their face and it made his heart skip an unsure beat, wondering whether they had really managed to read him completely.
"Would you mind if I stayed here?"
Scaramouche had to swallow hard before he could speak, his throat having dried up completely and still being thrown off a little.
"No. Like I said I can handle myself."
They raised their eyebrows a tad. Did they notice he didn't put as much malice in as before? Or perhaps... Did they think he could not handle himself? Did he look that incompetent? The very thought made him furious. If they really had managed to somehow read his thoughts, they would've known that he may have had his faults, but he was not stupid.
"I'm not asking because of you. I'm asking because of me. It's always safer with someone by your side. Don't you agree?"
He let out a snort.
"Of course it's safe. Until they turn their back on you."
The stranger cocked their head to the side and mustered him again. This time, Scaramouche was wise enough to not look into their eyes so they wouldn't gaze into his like that again. Who knows what they would manage with another chance at reading him.
"Well I'm going to stay here. If you're not comfortable with that, I don't mind going a distance away."
"Tch. Do whatever you want."
He turned his body away from them. A few footsteps were heard before the rustling of equipment sounded. Keeping his eyes firmly stuck on his make-shift tent, which consisted of a blanket pulled on a few smartly arranged sticks, he pondered who they were. If they were any sort of famous person, he was sure he would've found out about them on his travels. Furthermore, if they were just an average traveller, how did they do it?
The rustling behind him had stopped, indicating they had finished setting up. They walked around again.
"Would you mind if I used your fireplace? You can have some food as well, if you want."
"Like I said, do whatever you want."
Taking this as a yes, they started working, presumably preparing food.
Leaning back a bit, Scaramouche looked up to the stars. His hands fiddled with his clothes. He was so confused. Why did he have such an intense feeling before? Were they a magician? Or perhaps an insane scientist such as Il Dottore with some crazy device? There was no way they were just some ordinary human. Maybe he shouldn't have let them stay with him. What if the best course of action was to leave while he still had the chance? There's no telling what they would do while he rested. Desperately searching, he looked to the stars for answers, yet they provided none, as always.
He had been eager to get into astronomy, yet it wasn't as easy as it seemed. Regardless, he would not give up so fast. Maybe if he tried just a little harder, he would finally see what fate had prepared for him. Then he could never be betrayed or used again. He could protect himself from a feeling such as the one he had had before. He would finally be someone with an inkling of power. Maybe some day he could show it to... He shook his head. What nonsensical thoughts. Whatever the reason for this thinking, it didn't matter. He would push on and pursure his goals, he was sure of it.
An exclamation from behind him snapped him out of his thoughts. Turning back to them, he noticed a delicious aroma of soup floating around. It made his stomach growl. Upon hearing it, the stranger gave him a soft smile and offered him a bowl of soup. His stomach growled. Disgruntled that he was hungry enough to accept the stranger's hospitableness, he snatched the bowl, without spilling any soup of course. But he was still distrustful, so he took the time to carefully sniff the soup and test it for any poison. Who knows what they'd do if he gave them the chance. They merely watched with an amused expression while eating their own bowl of soup, as if they knew what was going through his head, which made him even angrier.
After determining that they werent trying to poison him, he relaxed a bit and ate a spoon of soup. It was quite delicious, filling his stomach with warmth and a distinct sense of home. ... Home? He was having the oddest thoughts today. It's a soup, how could it possibly feel like home? Yet he couldn't help but eat more of it, craving the feeling it gave him.
His opposite had already finished their bowl, and now observed him while he was eating. They put their head on their hand. Their gaze bore into him. He didnt like the way they looked at him. It almost felt like they knew something he didn't and were pitying him. He had no need for pity of any sort and especially not from them. They were still a danger to behold, as he still knew nothing about them, yet they seemed to know everything about him.
Suddenly, they spoke to him again.
"How have you survived this long by yourself?"
Scaramouche almost choked on his soup.
They couldn't know... No, there was simply no way. Even if he felt otherwise, there was no logical way for them to have read so deeply into his past. They must instead be talking about his lack of a companion, which made him angry once again. After properly finishing his bite, he snapped at them that he wasn't incompetent.
"Ah, it seems you misunderstood me. I'm not doubting your abilities to survive on a physical level. You're lonely. So much so that even the small kindness of offering you food has made you desperate for more. If the way you've been devouring my soup is anything to go by."
His cheeks warmed and he stumbled over his words, trying to come up with a good comeback. Of course they were wrong, he would never crave anything like human closeness. At the end of the day he wasn't even human. So they had no reason to assume anything like that.
A soft laugh escaped them and he could only marvel at it. It sounded so beautiful........ly stupid. Yes very stupid because they were laughing at him. It's not like they had any right to laugh, they didn't have any companion either. And he told them as such. Stopping their incessant laughter, they nodded.
"It's true I'm on my own myself, but I'm not as lonely as you. I sense that you've been betrayed in your past, which has caused you severe issues, am I right?"
His jaw fell open. What the fuck. He had been hesitant to believe that his feeling from before was correct, yet here they were, talking as if they truly knew him. It seemed they were even more powerful than he had suspected. Even more reason to worry, as now he had to do his best to protect not only his physical form and goods from strangers but also his emotions. Considering this was his first time having his emotions, past and thoughts read, he had a lot ahead of him to work through. It was of the utmost importance that such a thing never happen again, after all he couldn't just spill his secrets to any person he came across who could cross into his mental state and-
"It's okay."
Scaramouche looked up at them. Nothing was okay. This total stranger had just turned out to be a mind-reading freak and he had no way to protect himself from them.
"It was just a guess. And judging from your shocked expression, I was indeed correct. You're quite obvious about it, you know. Although I can't exactly say you're wrong, there are plenty of people out there who would stab you in your back as you sleep. Speaking from experience, by the way."
Oh. So they were just good at reading people. He had worried all about nothing. A certain sense of relief flooded him, yet there was also an anger present. Mostly directed at himself for feeling so exposed by their gaze and thus accidentally exposing himself.
"Hm, if you're worried about being betrayed, why don't we become companions? We could protect each other."
What a stupid idea. They weren't excluded from betraying him, so why would they suggest something like that. Truly one of the dumbest things they had said tonight.
They readjusted their position to be kneeling. Looking up at him, they put their hand on their chest, as if they were making an oath.
"I will stay by your side, I promise."
Scaramouche was confident they were lying but.... They looked at him with such an honesty in their eyes, it felt like they were trying to trying to lay themselves open in the same way he had exposed himself by accident. Perhaps he could learn how to grasp a person just by being around them for a bit by this stranger.
Fully aware of the risk he was taking, he decided to agree.
After all, he wanted to start a new life. He even rid himself of anything that reminded him of his old life, such as the stupid colours he had worn before. There was no way for him to start fresh if he decided to be stuck in his old mindset of violently pushing the people away that came to close to him.
So, after some pondering, he looked them straight in the eyes.
"Okay. But don't you dare break your promise."
They gave him a toothy grin. It was cute.
"I won't. I know it."
The smallest of smiles pulled at Scaramouche's mouth, which he hid by returning to his unfinished soup. While he did as such, the stranger started telling him a story from their last travel. For once, he had gained a semblance of peace and happiness, content in listening to their ramblings.
And so, they would continue their following travels together, wandering the nations of Teyvat, content in being just that: Wanderers.

your dark fantasy/fae au is so fucking cool and I’m going to be thinking about it forever now. I just wanted you to know. that’s all, have a wonderful day <33
Hard same, anon! Have some more headcanons.
-Willie has 100% crashed while skateboarding, walked home with an obviously broken arm, and gone about his day because he still had chores and you have to work through the pain that's just what you do, right?
-NO, and Ray spends a very panicked ride to the ER.
-At least Willie is delighted with his cast and the human tradition of your friends writing and drawing on it. Julie draws a little butterfly for him and he's just delighted.
-The boys all sleep in one room in a giant puppy pile. Ray offered them separate beds but they all looked so betrayed he just... made sure they had enough blankets and pillows instead.
-After the bird funeral, Willie is concerned because Ray's garden is not that big and there are a lot of people in this house and apparently death comes for everyone and he is relieved to learn humans have special gardens for human dead people called cemeteries.
The next time they drive past one on their way to Carlos' baseball game, Willie presses his nose to the car window and informs everyone: "There's dead people in there."
It is quiet in the car (Carlos makes sure to note they can put the 'x days since Willie said something weird' back to 0) before Julie is like: you're not wrong?
-Luke is trying desperately to figure out if in The Modern Era he still needs to ask Ray's permission to Court Julie. After doing a lot of research watching the telly-vision, he concludes he does not, he needs to get Flynn's approval because she is The Bestie.
-Flynn is like: to court Julie you must first complete these quests.
-Reggie would put a stop to it but honestly it's keeping Luke out of trouble when he has to write a song, and fetch Flynn seven sodas, and come catch and release the spider in her room (he brings Willie who politely asks the spider to stay on the other side of her window) and perform Feats Of Strength (help Flynn rearrange her furniture).
-Julie finds out and puts a stop to it of course but to be fair she really likes the song and was very flustered at sweaty Luke in his cut-off t-shirt so... she can't be too mad at Flynn.
(More mature and ridiculous headcanons behind the cut.)
-When the equinox approaches, Willie gets a little distressed. Because Ray hasn't done any preparations. Where are the wines and grapes and cured meats? The honey cakes? The pixie pears? Ray who have you invited? What about the music? What about the revelries, Ray? Are you going to get the couches deep cleaned after the orgies or do you have special soft blankets to cover them?
-Ray goes from mildly confused to very distressed, especially when Willie is like: is that not why you have so many couches???
-What follows is a very distressing day for Ray as he tries to figure out if the boys have sexual abuse trauma on top of the whole 'kidnapped by magical beings' and 'hunted for sport' and 'enslaved to perform for the fairy's amusement' trauma.
-They do not, but just to be sure he has a talk with them about consent and safe sex.
-Willie staring at Ray like: "What do you mean protection? Do humans attack each other during sex? Alex, you never told me this." Luke is trying to calm Ray down like: it's okay Alex and Willie can't get pregnant they don't need to pull out unless they want to. Reggie is coming to the frightening realisation that he is the normal one and has to be the mature one. He is also very, very sorry, Ray. There were just... so many orgies. Or maybe just a few long, long orgies. Time was weird. You get kind of desensitised to it all.
-Willie understanding that Consent is like the magic spell that makes sex okay and starts just asking Alex: Consent? And Alex goes 'okay!' and they happily skip off together.
(Julie: I am traumatised. Reggie: Yeah well blame your dad.)
-Not Reggie quietly pining as he sees Julie and Luke get closer and Willie and Alex carefree and in love and he's just over here... trying not to think of exactly what happened at those orgies and how suddenly he's the one left behind and alone.

Yandere! AI! Germany x reader
You sat there staring at your ceiling, the swirl patterns on the ceiling were charming in their own way. Your earbuds played the same songs, everything felt unreal in its own way. It felt empty. This feeling of yours was just like the feeling of a husk in the desert.
There was no point looking at your phone. No one texted you anyways- Your DM’s and messages were dry as hell. The most exciting notification you got was an email from tumblr saying to check out these 5 new trends. Even that vibration alone got you excited but the disappointment realizing that it was no one was your email.
You laid back in your bed, another lonely day...you would have work tomorrow anyways. You sighed softly- you decided some online quizzes wouldn't kill you. You pulled out your laptop going around to take some stupid quizzes to kill time. You were going through the pages of google you went to the 56th page of google and a link caught your eye.
An odd quiz you never saw before “ ideal game quiz” you decided to do the quiz and finding out your ideal game type and even where to get these games. You hummed seeing your game you got from the quiz was called “World of Love” a game about finding love?
You said fuck it and decided to download the game, you grabbed a soda as you installed the application on your computer. It was downloaded in 10 minutes which was enough time to grab snacks and a drink. You hummed as the start screen loaded. It was a pink pastel aesthetic with cute little options and toggles. You smiled softly clicking on ‘<3New Game’
‘WELCOME TO WORLD OF LOVE!’
please choose your preferred story!
>Casual story
>Deep story
>Unknown story
You stared at the page not thinking much of it you clicked Unknown story.
time skip 20 hours of game play~
It was day 10 of your game (you had played 2 hours) everyday of the game interacting with characters such as; Alfred, Ludwig, Edward, Feliciano, and Mathias! You had chosen a particular character to go for and that was Ludwig- He was so strong and helpful!:)
If only you knew he was looking right back at you-
You always smiled at his dialogue and would always try to find fanart or even fanfics but...they don’t exist? You found it weird considering you got the link to this game from a quiz so...shouldn’t it be more popular? You brushed it off as the game having a small fandom that doesn’t do much of anything.
You drew your own fanart of him and kept it in your room. It was so nice having it:) Today in particular was special because today was the end of the game you had completed all the tasks and side quests for Ludwig’s route! this was very exciting!
the end scene was playing out, you didn’t notice that in the top right corner your computer glitched. It was small then the screen froze. You couldn’t move your mouse or turn off your monitor, you groaned ‘fuck- the game gave you some kind of virus!’ You sighed trying to turn it off but it was still on. The monitor started sparking. You panicked and tried to unplug it but no use....the screen went to a light blue....you sat there freaking out not knowing what to do! You went to grab your phone to call a computer tech but you heard a voice...it was Ludwig’s voice from the game?
“I wouldn’t do that if i were you-” he warned
you looked to the monitor seeing Ludwig coming out of the screen into your home...he was real?! HE WAS HUMAN?! Your jaw dropped
“ what the fuck?!” you exclaimed
“I guarantee you i am of no harm whatsoever” He showed both his hands showing he had no weapon to harm anyone with.
“ you’re...not supposed to be here..?” you stated...it was more of a question than anything
“ of course i can go where i please, I do have a purpose after all” He smiled softly
“and that purpose is...?” you raised a brow
“ to take you and get married” He stated as if it was an obvious thing he just said
“ Ludwig...you’re a computer- Im not marrying a computer” you said bluntly
“ don’t be silly (name) We’re bound to be together! You played my route and seeing your face light up seeing me speak really light my heart up” He confessed holding your hand...oddly enough it was warm?
Before you could get a word in he interrupted
“I don’t think we’d want an accident would we?” He threatened giving a tight smile....he fixated his eyes on the power cord and cup of water on your desk..
“how can you do all of this?..” your head spinning, everything seemed so unreal right now.
“that isn’t important but do know you are safe when you are with me” he reassured you. He held your hand tightly putting it to his muscular chest “ I will make sure we are together and you are not hurt, we could live in the virtual world (name), access to the internet and the whole game its so much larger than that small map they give you. No one will ever purchase the game again anyways” He said looking into your eyes his piercing blue eyes looking deep into your eyes.
“What are you talking about?” you pulled you hand away from him, confused at his question. the quiz and the game? Surely there may be others trapped in this game or A.I rather than you.
“ You manage to find the one quiz buried deep in the internet, our game had created that quiz of yours and deleted it after a person took it. You found a strange dating game and downloaded it without thinking about potential consequences. Think about it (name) we are bound together. This is our fate. You chose me. You wanted me.” Ludwig looked at you, his tone was serious. How the hell are you gonna get yourself out of this one?
Suppose its too late to call that computer tech now is it?

For the ask questions - which of the Links is the most responsible?
And a second question: What do they prioritize more as people - their duty and most pressing issues (main quests) or helping everyone and also taking their time solving small problems (side quests)?
I hope I've written it in a way that makes sense lol sorry if not
For most responsible it’s a tie between Twilight/Wolf and Warriors, they both have their flaws but those two are what make the group stick together. Warriors is the negotiator and peace keeper as well as their planner, and everyone looks to him as the leader since he’s the oldest, and Twilight/Wolf keeps track of him and kind of herds the others. The group would not be functional as a GROUP without one of them
For your second question (I hope I answered this well 😭):
Warriors: He feels horribly guilty if he cannot save everyone. When the War or Eras took them to villages that were being destroyed and if he had to choose between helping fight back the monsters, actively driving the enemy out and helping an injured civilian get to safety first, he would pick the civilian every time. He’s a defender of the defenseless, and while it hurts him to know he’s not helping his men fight by taking a minute to help a civilian get to a safe place, he knows that person would have died if he hadn’t helped. He’ll take the ‘side quest’ every time (he views it as his responsibility since he fully believes the war is 100% his fault and he takes the blame for everything)
Tears: They’re so side quest oriented because they get distracted a lot and desperately want to help. Like yes they will absolutely help a korok find its friend, or they’ll gather 20 baked apples for you. The main objective is incredibly important to him, but Tears loves showing people acts of kindness and lending a helping hand when they can
Twilight: The main objective is his biggest priority and it’s the biggest thing on his mind, however he will stop and help if he’s able to. He’s more oriented towards the end goal, but he loves to help and is more than willing to lend a hand
Sky: His priority is everyone and that’s part of why he gets overwhelmed easily. He gets frustrated with himself when he feels like he’s failing or falling behind in his quest but he always has to stop and help, even if it means he doesn’t have as much energy to dedicate to his main quest
Tune: He laser focuses in on the main objective and it becomes his top priority. He will stop and help people, but he will not REST until his main objective is achieved
Past: They stop to help everyone they can, they’re very side quest oriented. The main objective is incredibly important to them, of course it is, but they are physically incapable of refusing a side quest or helping someone who needs it
Hyrule: He lives for the side quests, he lives for the little treats and the trill of completing little goals. Like yes, defeating Ganon is the most important thing, but he’s a little guy and he likes to run around (I don’t think there are a lot of side quests in his games that I remember, but he would love them)
Calamity: He prioritizes his duty as a knight and his responsibility to the kingdom over anything else because he’s pretty much completely lost himself and doesn’t know what he wants for him anymore. He will still help people, but his main priority is stopping the calamity and saving the kingdom as a whole
Mask: A lot of the others are some mix of both but Mask is TRULY the middle ground. He has an incredibly strong sense of justice, and he does whatever he thinks is most right in the moment. If that means helping someone with a side quest, he’ll do it, but if that means skipping a side quest to focus on the main objective, he’ll politely decline and come back to the side quest at a later time
Minish: He’s INCREDIBLY side quest oriented, he lives for the trinkets (the kinstones were soooo good for him). He’s still working towards the main goal, and that’s very important to him also, but he takes time to frolic. His priority is helping people and being kind

Finding Her - Chapter 10
Tumblr media
Link makes notes, takes photos and keeps time on his quest across Hyrule, in the hopes of finding Zelda and staying sane until he does. [ Previous | Next | First | AO3 ]
Log date: 10:20. 7th month, 1st day. 104AC Location: Talus Plateau, East Lanayru Great Spring Weather: Clear skies, some wind
Found another geoglyph. Couldn’t help myself. Mapped out the path from the wetlands up the river to Zora’s Domain and planned to go straight there. But then I climbed into the Skyview Tower in Upland Zorana and saw it.
It’s a Zonai Secret Stone, though not the next one in the sequence. That would be the kneeling figure, due west, in Gerudo. But I thought… who hasn’t skipped ahead in a book they’re reading, or asked a friend to get to the good bit of a story they’re telling? Can’t hurt to have a little foreknowledge.
Wondering now if it was worth the detour. In the vision, Rauru gave the ancient sages the secret stones, and asked for their help to fight the Demon King. It’s nothing we didn’t hear from the sages of Wind and Fire already. That said, the war didn’t seem to be going well. Have to wonder how close they came to defeat. And if Zelda really did fight alongside them. No - who am I kidding? She would have, every step of the way.
I just hope… she didn’t get hurt. Once, a very long time ago, I swore a vow to never let that happen. And all I want right now is to keep it. But I can’t do that if she’s stuck in the past — unless a vow can stretch that far across time, back to before it was even made? Or did I break it, the moment I let her hand slip through mine?
Have wasted enough time already. Will make it to Zora’s Domain before tomorrow even if I have to walk all night.
A photograph of a dragon tear, taken just as it falls momentarily upwards. Reflected in the waters of the tear is Link’s face, captivated.

Log date: 9:50. 7th month, 2nd day. 104AC Location: Dento’s Workshop, Zora’s Domain Weather: Muddy
Arrived in the Domain a bit past midnight. Booked a water bed, rupee pouch be damned. Feel great though. Not a single muscle aching.
Listening to the click clack of Master Dento’s fine tools as he repairs my Zora armour. Occasionally he whips out a sewing needle, to thread arowana scales into the mesh. Asked him what those do and he said ‘Nothing, if I can’t focus.’ Point taken. So here I am tap-tapping away on the Purah Pad, making no noise and not distracting anyone.
Regret not coming to Zora’s Domain sooner. Situation’s dire — their water’s been poisoned. It’s as vital to them as air. Worse, Sidon and Dorephan aren’t here. Sidon has gone to Mipha Court to purify the water flowing into the Domain. And Dorephan, no one would say. No one seems to even know. If it weren’t for Lady Yona helping heal the sick — I don’t know. It’d be catastrophic.
Though, not as catastrophic as the earful Zelda might give Sidon for not telling us he was engaged. (Happy for him, of course.) Just hope she’s back before their wedding. We’ve been to a couple, mostly small, simple affairs. Zelda’s a great dancer, and it makes her laugh that I’m not…
All the more reason to sort out this sludge. Dento’s nearly done. I better leave him in peace. The side eye he’s giving me is so sharp it physically kind of hurts.
A photograph of said side-eye, as Master Dento scowls at the camera. In his hands is an expertly crafted Zora chest-piece. On the workbench is a spread of metal working tools of every shape and size.
Caption: Will have to give him my last rupees as thanks, when he’s done.

Log date: 17:30. 7th month, 2nd day 104AC Location: Mikau Lake, Upland Zorana Weather: Mud continuing.
Zelda, Zelda, Zelda. What have you been up to?
First you appear at Hyrule Castle and spook all of the soldiers, then you’re on Stormwind Ark just as it unleashes a deadly blizzard, then you give Yunobo a mask that turns him against us, and now, apparently, you’ve attacked a King.
I don’t like where this is going. I don’t like not knowing where this is going. Because Zelda, I’m starting to think terrible things. You coming back different is one thing. Coming back evil is another.
I do know what I saw, at least. After following a trail of clues (ancient stone tablets, eavesdropping on children, the usual), I found Dorephan hidden in a secret cave. He’s in a bad way. He said you set a sludge monster on him, Zelda. I can’t even picture it, but why would he lie?
Anyway. You should know Sidon has been wearing himself thin trying to protect his people. He literally can’t stop, or the whole Domain will be poisoned. And then they will be without a home and a King. Those don’t sound like the consequences of well meaning actions to protect Hyrule, do they? In fact, nothing I’ve seen you do in the present seems right, anymore.
I’m not angry, just… confused. I’ll find the truth, as much as I don’t want to. I know that you’d do the same for me.
A photograph of Zora’s Domain taken from the cliffs of Upland Zorana. The waters are murky and discoloured, in contrast to the pristine stone masonry and metalwork of Zora’s Domain itself.

Learnings of the Zora, Anecdote Three Our Quest to Defeat The Treacherous Sludge As told by Prince Sidon
I, Sidon, have asked the Hylian Link, my dearest friend, if I may dictate my musings on the past few weeks so that they may be written on a twelfth Zora stone monument.
Link, who I treasure above all Hylians, is dutifully transcribing the words I am saying onto his small glowing device. He calls it a … a what pad? Who is Purah? No, no, don’t write that. I will continue now. Thank you Link.
On the terrible day of the Upheaval, vile sludge began pouring from the skies. It seemed to fall from islands suspended in the air, but how could this be? No such islands had ever before been seen.
Despite the terror of that day, I felt great pride in my heart, for the Zora dove headfirst into action. The soldiers evacuated people from the water. My father departed with Muzu at once to investigate. And my dear Lady Yona began healing any who had been injured.
As Prince of the Zora, I went immediately to Mipha Court, so named for my beloved sister who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our home. There I hoped to fortify our sacred wellsprings and divert as much of the sludge as I could. It was there I remained, day and night, for many weeks.
Just as my faith was waning, who would appear but my truest friend - Link! I sent him to treat with our historian, Jiahto, and to find my father, the great King Dorephan.
Imagine! My horror at hearing that my father had been attacked by a monster, set upon him by Princess Zelda herself! Almost as much as my shock at hearing a pillar of light had appeared in the Eastern Reservoir! Spurred on by caring words from my beloved Yona, I departed with Link to investigate.
Beneath the reservoir, we have found a large cavern that appears to house an ancient waterworks. I believe this concealed place was used by my ancestors to control the waters flowing from the Domain, so that all of Hyrule could benefit. To think, we stand now, in a place built by those who may have founded Zora’s Domain itself!
Our quest is not yet complete, for the sludge still sullies my home. However Link, a great adventurer, believes we are ‘on the right track’, as he says in his charming Hylian vernacular.
I, Prince Sidon, swear to not rest until all the sludge has been vanquished and the people of Zora’s Domain are safe once again!
Okay. Phew. How did that sound? Thrilling, I hope! Have you finished eating your lunch? I’m not hungry, but thank you. Link, you can stop writing now. Link, I have finished my tale. I am serious. Link. LINK.
A hurriedly taken photograph of Prince Sidon of the Zora, who is reaching for the Purah Pad with an incredulous look on his face. The photograph is a little blurred, as the photographer was laughing while trying to take it.

Log date: 01:38. 7th month, 5th day 104AC Location: Zora’s Domain  Weather: Clear skies, mild
Well well where to start. First, they had the wedding. Sidon and Yona. Maybe six hours after we got back. I went to get my things and next I knew .. wahoo! A wedding! Secondly, lots of wine, at this wedding. Is it safe for Zora to drink wine? Maybe it’s Zora wine. Made of fish?
Could write this in the morning but you know, why not now? Now is good. There’s music, mostly flutes, people are dancing, eating, and drinking. I sure have been. Not the dancing, the other bits.
Anyway, the log notes. We defeated the Mucktorok! But also, before that, Sidon and I, best bud Sidon, we activated a big waterfall and swam up to the Water Temple. Another waterworks, in the sky. Not as dramatic as a ghost ship or a volcano but, whatever. Oh but, but but but, this one — makes you float. You’d jump and whoosh , you’d be flying through the air, lighter than silk. Or a feather. Or something else that floats.
We coasted through that place in no time. Four puzzles? Easy as pie. Pie. Wonder if there’s fish pie here. Porgy pie, with lemon, and dill. I’m starving.
Okay, back with lemon cake. Not exactly what I was picturing but it was free. Or if they were charging they didn’t catch me. Anyway the Mucktorok. That thing was awful. Thank Hylia for Sidon’s water powers. Made quick work of it. We struck it down in minutes, and then it exploded, because of course it did. Why do monsters do that? Sidon took it all in his stride. He’s the Water Sage now. And the King. Big day for him, in particular.
Sidon promised to help find Zelda. He said there must be a Zelda in the past and a Zelda in the present. Two Zeldas? Sure. Anything’s possible. Will think about that… tomorrow.
Sidon and Yona got married, it was sweet. Sidon cried during the ceremony, and thanked me in his speech afterwards. Wahoo. Then came the toasts. Every Zora and his grandfather made a toast. Long live the King! Raise a glass! I’ll drink to that! And now my head… is very wobbly. Kind of like that floating temple, up in the up, up there. Very wobbly.
Up, up. Down, down. I am going down. To bed. Yes, to bed. I am going to go to bed. Goodnight.
A self-portrait of Link and a group of Zora revellers. Zora’s Domain is decorated brightly with glowing lanterns, ribbons and silverware. There is indeed music and dancing at the wedding, as Zora from all over the Domain have converged at the main plaza to celebrate. Link is drinking from a small silver chalice that overtops with wine.
